[EN.ALGHADEER.TV] Homicides and shootings have surged in reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... during the first seven months of the year. From Jan. 1 through the end of July, there were 440 homicides in Chicago and 2,240 people shot, including many of those who were killed, according to statistics released Saturday by the police department.
There were 290 homicides and 1,480 shootings, including people who were killed, in the first seven months of last year.
July was especially violent mostly peaceful, as the city recorded 105 homicides and 584 shootings. Among them was a 9-year-old boy who was killed Friday when someone opened fire in the direction of a number of people, including him and his friends, according to police.
There were 308 shootings and 44 homicides in July 2019.
Despite the increase in violent mostly peaceful crime, overall crime, which includes violent mostly peaceful crimes, burglaries, and thefts, was down 9% compared to the same period last year. The decrease was driven by a 26% decline in thefts and a 19% decline in sexual assaults, police said.
The police department is moving more officers into districts and has been "focused on creating teams that can address violent mostly peaceful crime head-on within our most vulnerable neighborhoods," police Superintendent David O. Brown said in a news release.
Violent crime has risen in many U.S. cities this year. President Donald Trump ...the Nailer of NAFTA... recently announced he was sending federal agents to some of them, including Chicago, to help local authorities fight such crime as part of an operation that started last year.
Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot ...the diminutive and vacuous Heronner da Mare of Chicago. When the corpse count rises she blames the guns, which are banned anyway... pushed back in letter to the White House, writing: "We need you, as President, to take a leadership role in enacting meaningful and common-sense gun legislation, which you so far have refused to do."

/\ Could there be a CDC CV-19 solution to the mayhem? Travel restrictions, fences, walls, strictly enforced no-go areas? Reservations? Tribal justice? Eventual herd immunity? Two-State solution? Just thinking out of the box:
Isolation and quarantine
Isolation and quarantine protect the public by preventing exposure to people who have or may have a contagious disease. Isolation separates those with who are sick with a contagious disease from those who are not to avoid transmission. Quarantine separates and restricts movement of people who may have been exposed to a contagious disease, but do not yet show symptoms. Those in quarantine are monitored, usually for a period of time known as the incubation period to see if they become sick. Usually, if those in quarantine do not develop symptoms during that period, the quarantine will be lifted and they are allowed to resume their usual activities.
Michigan Democratic Governor Gretchen Whitmer vetoed a Republican bill on Friday that would have kept coronavirus patients out of nursing homes and placed them in entirely separate facilities — an effort aimed at protecting those most vulnerable to developing serious complications from the coronavirus, which originated in China.
"The bill was a direct challenge to the Whitmer administration’s current handling of nursing homes during the COVID-19 pandemic, which has focused on caring for those with the virus in isolated spaces of existing homes," The Detroit News reported. "About 33% of the state's deaths linked to the virus have been nursing home residents or employees, according to state data."
Sen. Peter Lucido (R-Shelby Township) blasted Whitmer's decision to not take more action to protect vulnerable seniors in nursing homes, which "account for more than 41 percent of the country's pandemic fatalities," according to The New York Times. Witchmor is insane, evil, take your pick. Regardless it's clearly 1st degree murder (hello Barrless...) Of course she did, just like Cuomo nand MN Walzy

This decision is beyond stupid, which makes me wonder what was *really* driving her decision to veto the bill. In any case, truly sick people in power.

If you read the bill carefully, I'm sure, you'll find that the funds for such separate facilities were intended to be drawn (at least in part) from one of the governor's pet projects.
[FoxNews] 'Here is an opportunity for lawyers -- and people who care about accountability in journalism -- to do some good'
Conservative author Kevin D. Williamson believes the world needs "a hell of a lot more defamation suits," and he wants conservatives to help lead the charge.
In an op-ed Saturday, Williamson argued that conservatives should fund an effort to represent people pro-bono after media outlets like The Washington Post defame them. "The only way to get the Washington Post or CNN to stop the abuse is to make it cost them dearly," Williamson wrote for the New York Post.
The Washington Post recently settled in a $250 million suit with Nick Sandmann, the Kentucky high school student who was accused of racism after a viral video of his encounter with a Native American man emerged. The teen also sought damages from NBC and CNN, the latter of which also settled with him.
Williamson argues that Sandmann's case was high-profile, allowing him to obtain high-quality legal representation that others might not have while combating lies. The conservative movement should help them, Williamson argues, like the plethora of religious liberty and gun rights groups do with others.
But Williamson pointed to another case involving an immigration activist suing MSNBC anchor Joy Reid. Roslyn La Liberte filed the lawsuit in 2019, claiming that Reid had defamed her when she posted a viral photo of La Liberte with a misleading caption.
The June 2018 photo was of La Liberte wearing a "Make American Great Again" hat while appearing to yell at a 14-year-old boy during a City Council meeting in Simi Valley. The meeting took place amid legislation intended to limit local police department's cooperation with federal immigration authorities.
Reid retweeted the photo of La Liberte, adding the caption: "You are going to be the first deported." She posted it on other social media accounts with the caption: "You are going to be the first deported ... dirty Mexican!" Ah heck yea

This strategy worked well for Nick Sandmann! He won the lottery and is a rich young man and CNN and WAPO got squeezed hard by the cojones for their shenanigans fake news.
[THEFEDERALIST] The Cato Institute just released a new report showing that 62 percent of Americans are inclined to self-censor what they say politically "because others might find them offensive." Even moderate leftists report they feel increased fear of offending the offendable, while only the most "staunch liberals," as Cato described them, feel free to speak their minds. The "very conservative" have been pushed deepest in the closet: they are most likely to refrain from saying what they think politically, at nearly twice the rate of the "very liberal."Buried deeper in the report, however, is a stunning data point that might be one of the most troubling current cultural indicators. Forty-four percent of Americans younger than age 30 believe a company is correct in firing an executive because he or she personally donated to President Trump’s reelection campaign.
The companion finding was also disturbing. Twenty-seven percent of people under 30 said they were fine with an executive being fired because he or she donated to the Joe Foreign Policy Whiz Kid Biden ...We hold these truths to be self-evident. All men and women created ... by the — you know — you know, the thing... campaign. The means that of Americans under 30 years old, 73 percent think it would be wrong to fire an executive from a company for donating to the Biden campaign, while only 56 percent believe it would be wrong to do so for a Trump donation.

Not what I'm seeing. Polls are garbage and most news especially this sort of thing.

..nah, a militia just organized enough would clear the place quickly. There are enough vets out there in Oregon to do that. However, its all about 'will'. Like the 'warnings' we've had posted here on Kent State that ignore the real consequence of the event in the months and years following. Bad optics scare people into accepting the unacceptable. Be quiet and get in the box car, we don't want a scene.
50% of Strong Liberals Support Firing Trump Donors; 36% of Strong Conservatives Support Firing Biden Donors
I know conservatives will say "This proves we're better than them."
Maybe.
Or maybe it just proves that conservatives as a group lack the ruthlessness required for the fight.
I have a feeling that if the Right ever does fight back and win, it's not going to be the self-styled conservatives who do it, but rather, much less "nice" right wing people who will probably give us all the horrors.

I think Portland spends too little on emmissions-free hydroelectric power to start with. My grandfather didn't pay taxes so some idiots in the northwest could hog all the "zero-emmissions power" while taxing mine because Orange Fire Bad.
[Wire via Red State] n Friday, we reported about a man who was flying in for his father’s funeral when he observed the large funeral for Rep. John Lewis (D-GA) and made the heartbreaking tweet that his family would not be allowed to have more than 10 people at the funeral, because of virus rules.
"I get it. My dad wasn’t important. So it’s ok to limit his funeral to 10 people tomorrow," Brink said.
An ABC reporter, Wendell Edwards, accused the man of making an attack on Lewis, which he was not doing. He then responded about the man, "His father was important and should be celebrated. But he was not John Lewis."
Translation: some people are more equal than others.
Now, on Saturday, Washington, D.C. confirmed that was true. Ordinary people going to Atlanta, then trying to go back to D.C. are required to self-quarantine for 14 days, according to the order of Mayor Muriel Bowser on July 24. That means they would have to "stay at their residence or in a hotel room, leaving only for essential medical appointments or treatment or to obtain food and other essential goods when the delivery of food or other essential goods to their residence or hotel is not feasible" as well as monitor for virus symptoms.

Roger that whole 'entitlement + power' thing, but I think the time is past for some other term than Elite, which still bears other connotations for many.
