In the last 10 days there have been 19 homicides & 43 failed murders (shootings) in Baltimore. Also there have been many stabbings/cuttings. There is no discernible crime plan for the daily violence and the BPD is making no progress in filling the 500 vacancies. #CityinCrisis

[BREITBART] Tevin Henderson has been indicted on five counts of rape and will face up to 55 years in prison, according to a statement released Monday.
Hamilton County Prosecutor Joe Deters detailed charges against 22-year-old Tevin Henderson, who faces decades in prison and a permanent spot on the sex offender registry for the repeated rape of a 12-year-old "family acquaintance" at a residence in Winton Terrace.
"There are no words to describe this kind of horrible crime against a child. We have yet to coin a word in the English language adequate to describe someone who sexually abuses a child and causes a 12-year-old to give birth," Deters said, before allowing himself a moment of candor:
On a personal note, I’d like to say the following. These types of cases are much too prevalent in our area and nationwide. It makes me sick to my stomach. To prey upon a maiden of tender years sexually, impregnate her, and think nothing of it is disgusting and should be totally unacceptable to everyone who hears of these acts. We will work diligently to remove him from the streets of Hamilton County for as long as possible.
Henderson is being held at the Hamilton County Justice Center, with bail set at $250,000. His hearing is scheduled for September 25. Henderson’s lawyer, James Costin, declined to comment on the indictment.

This outrage brought to you by the welfare system.

1984, Louisiana:
"Gary Plauche shot and killed his son's karate instructor at the Baton Rouge airport in 1984 after the man, Jeffrey Doucet, was accused of kidnapping and sexually assaulting Jody Plauche.
The elder Plauche waited for Doucet to be escorted back from California where authorities said Doucet had taken his son before he was rescued and Doucet was arrested. He had been extradited back to Baton Rouge and was walking through the airport when Plauche, waiting by some payphones pulled out a gun and fired a shot.
Plauche was sentenced to five years probation and did not serve time in jail following the shooting. He maintained his actions were the natural response of a father who believed his son had been violated."
Effectively, jury nullification.

Did Black Lives Matter say anything about how unjust it is that this pedo man attracted to minors is being prosecuted because of his skin colour? Will BLM demand he be extradited to California?
[ABC7CHICAGO] reliably Democrat Chicago, aka The Windy City or Mobtown ...home of Al Capone, the Chicago Black Sox, a succession of Daleys, Barak Obama, and Rahm Emmanuel... weekend shootings have left more than 50 people shot, 10 fatally, police said.
From 6 p.m. on Friday until midnight Sunday, a total of 54 people were shot, police said, including two Chicago coppers and a 15-year-old boy, police said.
Despite the number of victims, Chicago Police Superintendent David Brown said Monday that murders are down 50% from the previous six weeks following his reorganization of the department to create citywide teams. Overall crime is also down 19% this year, according to Brown.
"Our clearance rate for homicides is 40%. We have some room to improve, but that's still a significant improvement," Brown said.
Supt. Brown added that 127 guns were recovered in Chicago this weekend, bringing the total number of guns recovered by CPD this year to 6,967.
"Every one of those 6,967 guns recovered are a potential deadly force encounter," he said.
One reason Supt. Brown says the clearance rate has gone up is because they are seeing an increase in cooperation from community members who are reaching out to Sherlocks to tell them what they know regarding ongoing cases. Brown added that he hopes this trend continue.,
Brown's announcement came after one man was killed and four others injured in a shooting outside a pancake house in Morgan Park.

Seems like the Baltimore thugs are better shots.
[SciTechDaily] University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine scientists have isolated the smallest biological molecule to date that completely and specifically neutralizes the SARS-CoV-2 virus, which is the cause of COVID-19. This antibody component, which is 10 times smaller [meaning one tenth the size I think]
than a full-sized antibody, has been used to construct a drug ‐ known as Ab8 ‐ for potential use as a therapeutic and prophylactic against SARS-CoV-2.
The researchers report today (September 14, 2020) in the journal Cell that Ab8 is highly effective in preventing and treating SARS-CoV-2 infection in mice and hamsters. Its tiny size not only increases its potential for diffusion in tissues to better neutralize the virus, but also makes it possible to administer the drug by alternative routes, including inhalation. Importantly, it does not bind to human cells ‐ a good sign that it won't have negative side-effects in people.

[ZeroHedge] On [12 Sep 20] we reported that Dr. Li-Meng Yan - a Chinese virologist (MD, PhD) who fled the country, leaving her job at a prestigious Hong Kong university - appeared last week on British television where she claimed SARS-CoV-2, the virus which causes COVID-19, was created by Chinese scientists in a lab.
On Sunday, Li-Meng joined Twitter - and on Monday, just hours ago, she tweeted a link to a paper she co-authored with three other Chinese scientists titled:
Unusual Features of the SARS-CoV-2 Genome Suggesting Sophisticated Laboratory Modification Rather Than Natural Evolution and Delineation of Its Probable Synthetic Route
https://t.co/g9uPdcRIew
— Dr. Li-Meng YAN (@LiMengYAN119) September 14, 2020
She also posted a link to her credentials on ResearchGate, revealing her (prior?) affiliation with The University of Hong Kong and 13 publications which have been cited 557 times.
https://t.co/u6SbFcR3IS
— Dr. Li-Meng YAN (@LiMengYAN119) September 14, 2020
Cutting to the chase:
"The evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 should be a laboratory product created by using bat coronaviruses ZC45 and/or ZXC21 as a template and/or backbone. Building upon the evidence, we further postulate a synthetic route for SARS-CoV-2, demonstrating that the laboratory-creation of this coronavirus is convenient and can be accomplished in approximately six months.
Here is the extended punchline:
The receptor-binding motif of SARS-CoV-2 Spike cannot be born from nature and should have been created through genetic engineering.
The Spike proteins decorate the exterior of the coronavirus particles. They play an important role in infection as they mediate the interaction with host cell receptors and thereby help determine the host range and tissue tropism of the virus. The Spike protein is split into two halves (Figure 3). The front or N-terminal half is named S1, which is fully responsible for binding the host receptor. In both SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2 infections, the host cell receptor is hACE2. Within S1, a segment of around 70 amino acids makes direct contacts with hACE2 and is correspondingly named the receptor-binding motif (RBM) (Figure 3C). In SARS-CoV and SARS-CoV-2, the RBM fully determines the interaction with hACE2. The C-terminal half of the Spike protein is named S2. The main function of S2 includes maintaining trimer formation and, upon successive protease cleavages at the S1/S2 junction and a downstream S2’ position, mediating membrane fusion to enable cellular entry of the virus....
[ScienceAlert HT Insty] A leading expert on indigenous peoples in Brazil was shot dead with an arrow apparently fired by a member of an isolated tribe in the Amazon rainforest, officials and a journalist in the region said Thursday
Rieli Franciscato, 56, the head of a program to protect indigenous groups that have little or no contact with the outside world, died Wednesday in the Seringueiras region, a remote municipality in the northern state of Rondonia, said a statement from the Brazilian government's indigenous affairs office, FUNAI, where he worked.
FUNAI declined to say how he died.
But witnesses said he was shot with an arrow while monitoring recent appearances by a tribe known as the "Cautario River isolated group," according to a photojournalist in the region, Gabriel Uchida.
Rieli was accompanied by a police patrol. When the party came under fire with arrows, they ran to take shelter behind a vehicle, but Rieli was hit in the chest, witnesses said.
He was taken to the nearest hospital, but died soon after.
The tribe "are known as a mostly peaceful group," Uchida told AFP in an email.
"The last time they appeared in the region was in June... It was a larger group, very peaceful. They even left presents at someone's house," he said.
"This time, there were just five armed men - a war party. That means something must have happened to make them seek 'revenge'." Possibly non-reusable grocery bags?

[Washington Examiner] The Trump administration moved to block substantially more imports from the Xinjiang region of China, where approximately 1 million Uighur Muslims are forced to manufacture goods in "concentration camps," according to homeland security officials.
Ken Cuccinelli, who performs the duties of Department of Homeland Security deputy secretary, told reporters in a press call Monday afternoon that Customs and Border Protection officers who screen imports at ports of entry will block items made at any of five locations in China. The Chinese government claims the sites are vocational skills and training centers or workplace facilities.
"This is not a vocational center. It is a concentration camp — a place where religious and ethnic minorities are subject to abuse and forced to work in heinous conditions with no recourse and no freedom," said Cuccinelli. "This is modern-day slavery. President Trump has been very clear: This administration will not tolerate the egregious human rights violations that are taking place in China."
"Illicit, inhumane, and exploitative practices of modern-day slavery will not be tolerated in the U.S. supply chain," said acting CBP Commissioner Mark Morgan. "For those people and entities who traffic in these despicable practices, know that every CBP officer who reviews cargo information is looking to keep these products out of the United States economy."
To date, in fiscal 2020, which began last October, the U.S. has imposed a dozen bans on imported goods, including eight against Chinese entities. Federal law prohibits the importation of merchandise mined, manufactured, or produced, in part or fully, by convict labor, forced child labor, and indentured labor.
[T]he theory that the virus may have come from a research laboratory is, however, strictly censored on peer-reviewed scientific journals. Nonetheless, SARS-CoV-2 shows biological characteristics that are inconsistent with a naturally occurring, zoonotic virus. In this report, we describe the genomic, structural, medical, and literature evidence, which, when considered together, strongly contradicts the natural origin theory. The evidence shows that SARS-CoV-2 should be a laboratory product created by using bat coronaviruses ZC45 and/or ZXC21 as a template and/or backbone. Building upon the evidence, we further postulate a synthetic route for SARS-CoV-2, demonstrating that the laboratory-creation of this coronavirus is convenient and can be accomplished in approximately six months.
Smoking Gun. President Trump must Go after China and the CCP for this.

Key fact: the binding sites in the Corona appear to be the point of suspicion. Finally, a real biologist posting genetic info. This is the real deal.

Note: the link goes directly to the paper, not to a third party site. So be prepared to read technical stuff. But as they say on the X-Files, the truth is out there.
One is that the four authors seem to work for Rule of Law Society & Rule of Law Foundation, New York, NY, USA. I have never heard of this foundation before, and it doesn't have anything that I recognize in the name as a connection to medicine. What is this foundation? When was it founded? Why do they exist? Is this legitimate or a political front of some kind?
The other thing that stands out is that almost all the names associated with this report seem to be Chinese, including all the authors and the extensive list of references at the end of the paper. Why? I would expect more Western sounding names from an American-based foundation and in any kind of paper that would be aimed at pinning the blame on China. What's up with that? Are the vast majority of molecular biologists (or whatever) of Chinese descent? Are they dissidents? Why aren't there more Western names here? Haven't we been trying?
Both of these observations seem suspicious to me at first glance, and will likely stay that way until sense can be made of them.

The primary author was working in China and is a Hong Kong native, and had to flee persecution there. Also, much of the prior research on this was done in China due to the previous run of SARS-CoV-1, the original SARs virus. The Chinese government has gone so far as to "unpublish" several of their papers, and make them into un-persons like Nikolai Yezhov and erase their previous credentials and existence if possible.
As for the lack of Westerners, it is noted that Western journals reject any papers nearly out of hand that suggest anything other than orthodoxy of a spontaneous zoonotic origin, the story that the Chinese Communist Party and WHO have been desperately trying to cement as gospel, with the help of complaint anti-trump academics and press.
That is one of the reasons this is so big. Its going to blow up a ton of establishment academics and their cronies.

Priimary author also co-authored a paper called "Viral dynamics in mild and severe cases of COVID-19" published in March 2020, regarding the viral shedding patterns observed in patients with mild and severe COVID-19. She was one of the initial whistleblowers about the Wuhan virus spreading far more widely and quickly.
I found a symposium aannouncment for her at Hong Kong University that gives this brief bio: Dr. Yan received her MD degree from XiangYa Medical College of Central South University (China), and PhD from Southern Medical University (China). Her research interests include investigations of infectious diseases or inflammation via different animal models. Her research has recently focused on study of universal influenza vaccine, cross-reactive antibodies and cellular immunology.

The other authors appear to have research in theri names in China, but I dont know enough Chinese to tell, other than by looking at abstracts, and those seem to be related to animal virology, and methods of analysis for virus mutations.

To permit the people of China to live under a national system based on the rule of law, independent of the political system of the People’s Republic of China (“China”).
Mission
To expose corruption, obstruction, illegality, brutality, false imprisonment, excessive sentencing, harassment, and inhumanity pervasive in the political, legal, business and financial systems of China.
Core Values
To practice high ethical standards of integrity and accountability;
To bring justice to the people in China;
To protect and assist individuals victimized in China, particularly those penalized for speaking out against injustice;
To promote freedom of speech, media and general public’s supervision of the government activities.

All this is interesting indeed. Thanks to both of you for filling in some details.
It's about time the Western journals got exposed for what they are. I hope it clears out the deadwood and politically motivated. There might not be much left but maybe we'll get some honest replacements.

Here is a decent layman's explanation courtesy of RedState (pretty surprised at that). It does note there is no explanation of intent, as in why did the Chinese Military/Medical?Part decide to make such a pathogen, and not enough information to determine if the release was deliberate or accidental. However, there is enough out there to show that the cover-up exists, involved the WHO, involved lying to the West, and was deliberate and intentional by the Chinese government.
[TheDrive] Troubling Drone Incursions Have Occurred Over Guam's THAAD Anti-Ballistic Missile Battery
It's yet another reminder of just how vulnerable highly strategic assets, even air defense systems, are to low-end drones.
Earlier this year, it came to The War Zone's attention that a series of bizarre and highly concerning events took place in the late Winter of 2019 at Andersen Air Force Base on the Island of Guam. As we understand it, between late February and early March of last year, the massive installation experienced repeated incursions by unmanned aircraft that appeared to be extremely interested in one highly sensitive area of the highly strategic base, the U.S. Army's Terminal High Altitude Area Defense (THAAD) battery that is tasked with defending the island from ballistic missile attacks.
The incursions, which were said to have occurred in late March and early April 2019, had been observed by personnel manning guard towers that loom over the highly secure THAAD area situated towards the northern end of the air base, often referred to as "North West Field." Andersen itself takes up the northern and western reaches of the entire island.
The intruding craft were described as "quadcopter-like" vehicles with bright spotlights that flew from over the water and then across the North West Base area at not much higher than treetop level, about 20 to 30 feet above the ground. On a number of nights, the craft would make multiple incursions in the very early morning hours. They would show up, disappear, then come back a few hours later.
The spotlight that shone down from the craft made it hard for personnel to make out a detailed description of the craft, although estimates range from being three to five feet in diameter largely based on the size of the spotlight. The craft would maneuver dynamically, appearing with the spotlight on, then disappearing, just to reappear moments later over to one side or another with the spotlight on, which was unsettling to those that witnessed it. Supposedly, there was a concerted effort to identify, track, and down the mysterious craft, but it doesn't seem that those efforts were successful based on our understanding of events.
This information was highly interesting if not downright alarming, but we had to find hard evidence that at least something similar did indeed happen during this timeframe.
We got just that straight from the U.S. Air Force.

[Stars & Stripes] STUTTGART, Germany — Germany is violating an international treaty when it asks U.S. military personnel to pay taxes in the country, the U.S. Embassy in Berlin said as it jumped into a long-running fiscal dispute that has affected hundreds of U.S. troops and civilians.
The U.S. Embassy and military commands "are aware of this long-standing issue and working closely in concert to address what we believe to be a misinterpretation of the NATO Status of Forces Agreement," embassy spokesman Joseph Giordono-Scholz said in a statement this week.
"The Department of Defense and Department of State are engaged to try and reach a resolution," Giordono-Scholz said, giving the first indication that the issue is being tackled at a higher level than military commands in Germany, which have been unable to resolve it after years of trying.
State and Defense Department lawyers are hashing out the details of a plan that will be turned over to the embassy for action in the weeks ahead, a State Department official told Stars and Stripes this week.
The involvement of senior U.S. officials comes after Stars and Stripes earlier this year spotlighted how Germany has threatened to impose hefty tax penalties — some in six figures — on troops and civilians who it says have special ties to the country. It’s aimed at getting the German federal government to issue guidance that would stop regional tax offices from levying taxes on Americans living in the country with SOFA protections, military officials have said.

I've got a great way to help our troops avoid German taxes - pull all of them out now. This is clearly retaliation for Trump asking NATO shitheads to cough up more dough.

[FoxNews] An M109 Paladin 155 mm howitzer made history recently by shooting down a fast-moving maneuvering cruise missile with a “hypervelocity projectile” able to travel at speeds up to Mach 5, according to an Air Force announcement. Historically, armored vehicles such as tanks, howitzers or infantry carriers have not operated with an ability to destroy fast-moving, long-range cruise missiles, yet the successful demonstration breaks new ground.
The shoot-down, which took place at White Sands Missile Range, New Mexico, destroyed a “surrogate” Russian cruise missile target using the Air Force’s Advanced Battle Management System (ABMS).

The projectiles in this system got to about mach 5.
For comparison, the interceptors used by Israel in Iron Dome, IIUC, get to about mach 2.
given the E = M x V x V, the howitzer projectile had about 6 times the KEnergy of a same weight Iron Dome projectile

6 times the KEnergy
And only 40% of the transit time to be deflected by winds, etc. If you are shooting a bullet at a bullet I have to believe little things like that matter.
#4
Interesting Proof of Concept but I fail to see the utility of it. A fast firing cannon to get multiple shots on target would probably max out at 75mm to *cough* 88mm (where have we heard that number?) do to the simple mechanical problems of moving the ammunition...
#6
Just brainstorming here.
This would be an off the shelf system, already deployed at strongpoints. The M109 is a tracked system for movement, traversing turret for firing arc adjustments.
The M109A6 Paladin achieves a maximum firing rate of up to eight rounds a minute, or three rounds in 15 seconds, and a sustained firing rate of one round every three minutes. The gun is operated with an automatic fire control system with ballistic computer, fitted with an optical backup.
Not bad. Heckuva lot better than nothing, and getting shells to Paladins would be easier than dedicated systems so long as the right radar and comms could communicate with a Paladin.
I suppose this would make them vulnerable to anti-radiation systems but if the cruise missile or scud or whatnot is underway, then the cat is already out of the bag.

[ZeroHedge] That pretty much tells you what you need to know, but here's a bit more detail: [text in image format]
Now, listen, I've got a lot of gripes about the way corporate America conducts itself. I think U.S. capitalism has, in many ways, become utterly diseased and will be the cause of its own ruination.
However, in spite of my disdain for our shareholder-driven society, I must protest, as I always have, any effort to get a business to align itself with demands such as the ones cited above, be they from either litigation or government edict.
I am no fan of United Airlines, but if a paying customer - - in this case, I suppose giant sports corporations that want to charter jets and fly players around - - ask for a certain type of crew, that's totally their choice.
Do they want a super-handsome pilot? Great! Do they like all their cabin crew to be slightly-overweight male stewards? You got it! Instead, do they want the entire staff to look like cocktail waitresses from the 1960s? Hey, if the employees are up for it, great, we've got paying customers.
Here, let's get away from United for a second. Why, for example, does Chippendale's not hire me as a dancer? I'm a healthy male perfectly willing to do the job (well, no, I'm not willing, but let's just go with it for now). Why shouldn't Chippendale's be required to hire a middle-aged, somewhat overweight, not-exactly-Adonis kind of fella to entertain their female customers? What's all this bias toward 25 year old men with six-pack abs. I call them out for discrimination!
Still unconvinced? Here, allow me to slip off my shirt to end the conversation.
As long as we're trying to ascertain why I'm being shut out of gainful employment...........
Why can't I play for the NFL?
Why can't I star on a Broadway musical?
Why am I not featured on the Food Network as a master chef?
I'll tell you why. Because I'm not athletic, because my singing is great for my shower but not for the stage, and because my ability to roast a chicken or make a fruit crisp does not qualify me for culinary notoriety. That's why.
So, even though United must be one of my least-favorite airlines in existence, I still say: leave 'em alone! The truth is that what most people want from an airline, men and women alike, is to get from Point A to Point B safely and comfortably. If the men of America were really so obsessed with seeing pretty women delivering their drinks, then Hooters Air would have been a raging success and not a bankrupt failure in just three years' time.

I am waiting for a paralyzed blind transvestite to successfully sue (California judge in the 9th Circuit naturally) to be hired as an airline attendant... Crazy Days.
