"Some mediators want only a ceasefire. The ceasefire has been in force since 1994. Why has this issue not been resolved over the years? Why were the resolutions of the United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... not implemented? Why weren’t any sanctions imposed on the aggressor state? All these questions remain valid. There are no answers to these questions," the head of state emphasized.
"Today, as the glorious Army of Azerbaijan conducts its successful operations and liberates our ancestral lands, these calls are being made: do not move forward, take a break. War has its own rules, its own laws. Every day has its own significance. If we take a break, the other side will gather strength and deploy additional forces. Their speeches already show that they are also involving Armenians living outside Armenia in this war. Thus, they want to take this war out of the regional arena and turn it into a global war. Therefore, our position on the ceasefire is quite explicit. We are ready for that but there are certain conditions that I have also announced," the President said.

The post reads as follows:
"Dear compatriots! In the time when our valiant Army conducts successful counteroffensive operation in order to liberate the ancestral Azerbaijani lands from the Armenian occupation, the enemy doesn’t give up showing its nasty intentions. During the whole week when the heated battles have been continuing, Armenia shamelessly circulates fake news. The Armenian Diaspora plays special role by actively providing false information to the international community during this fierce attack. Today, we all are indeed the witnesses of historic events! We can’t just watch from the sidelines the occurrences.
Each of us is obliged to do his best in order to draw near Great Victory moment. It means that all of us are the soldiers obliged to make maximum efforts in order to unmask the Armenian lie. I call on each of you to unmask fake news of the Armenian propaganda and to deliver the truths about the Armenia aggression to the international community on all possible platforms! Everybody who considers Azerbaijan his Motherland should raise his voice and should refute Armenians’ lie! May the Almighty God protect our Army, people and Motherland!"

Because during the period prior to this, they declared that if the battles occur around Nagorno Garabagh, they are ready to strike our strategic infrastructure projects — Sangachal Oil and Gas Terminal and pipeline. Therefore, one of the purposes of the attack in Tovuz region was that they made a test on how far they can penetrate. Because their main purpose there was to cross state border, to occupy the Azerbaijani lands and to come near to that TANAP pipeline or to take it under control", President Ilham Aliyev voiced these statements in his interview with TRT Haber TV channel, APA reports.
The head of our state also talking about other reasons of the attack said: "Currently, the very deep crisis, both political and economic, is lived through in Armenia. As a result of this crisis, the political ties in Armenia have been broken because currently, Pashinyan’s government casts into prison the main opposition leaders. For instance, he deprived of deputy immunity the chairman of the main oppositional party, and threw him in jail. The criminal case has been opened against two former presidents. There is no freedom of speech, freedom of gathering. He destroyed the Constitutional Court by force, brought his own people. Therefore there is already a very serious concern inside Armenia. Pashinyan organizes this attack in order to divert the public opinion. He wants to involve Russia, to destroy our strategic infrastructure, to stabilize internal situation and to occupy a pert of the Azerbaijani lands and thereafter to strengthen his position in the discussions".

[RT] Azerbaijan’s president has called on his French counterpart to apologize for his recent claims that Syrian soldiers have been funneled into the disputed Nagorno-Karabakh, where Baku is fighting against Armenian forces.
