Houthis capture Marib dam
[SouthFront] The defense of Saudi-backed forces in central Yemen officially collapsed.

On February 18, the Houthis (officially known as Ansar Allah) captured Marib Dam, located in a close proximity to Marib city.

The city remains the last major stronghold of Saudi-backed forces in Marib province and central Yemen itself. The nearing fall of the city into the hands of the Houthis marks the developing collapse of Saudi-backed forces across the entire country.

The Saudi-led intervention and the war on Yemen turned into a disaster for Riyadh and now the Kingdom is fiercely searching for ways to somehow contain the growing losses.

Indian Farmer Protests roundup
Disha, Nikita, Shantanu, PJF were part of WhatsApp group to discuss creation of toolkit
[OneIndia] New Delhi, Feb 17: The Delhi Police will ask Shantanu Maluk who is allegedly part of the toolkit to explain why he was at the Tikri Border on January 26, when the farmers' protest turned violent.

On Tuesday, the Bombay High Court granted transit anticipatory bail to Muluk. His name cropped up following the arrest of Disha Ravi by the Delhi Police. The police said that she had helped create the toolkit, which was later used by Greta Thunberg.

During the probe, the police learnt that Disha Ravi had created a WhatsApp group called International Farmers' Strike on December 6. Nikita Jacob, who sought anticipatory bail before the Bombay High Court joined the group five days later. The police also found that members of the pro-Khalistan group, Poetic Justice Foundation had also joined the group.

Farmers' Protest: Indian Railways diverts, cancels trains in Punjab, amid rail roko call
[OneIndia] New Delhi, Feb 17: Farmers, who are protesting against the Centre's farm laws have called a four-hour rail blockade across the country from 12 noon to 4pm on Thursday (February 18) but the agitation has forced the Railways to either cancel or divert trains in Punjab on Wednesday.

According to a release issued by Northern Railway, the farmers' agitation in the state, the Darbhanga-Amritsar Express special train, which was to start on Wednesday, will remain cancelled.

While rail blockades by farmers across the state, which started in September-end, were lifted in November, members of the Kisan Mazdoor Sangharsh Committee continue to block passenger trains at Jandiala Guru in Amritsar district.

Though the protesters have been sitting outside the station on a symbolic protest since November, the Railways have not run passenger trains on the route since the farmers have declared they will allow only goods trains.

Maninder Singh was arrested from near a bus stop in north west Delhi's Pitampura on Tuesday. Two swords were recovered. Pramod Kushwaha, deputy commissioner of Delhi (Special Cell) said.

Red Fort incident: Prime accused Maninder Singh arrested, swords seized
[OneIndia] New Delhi, Feb 17: Maninder Singh, most wanted in the Red Fort violence case, has been arrested by the Delhi Police's Special Cell on Tuesday.

Singh, a resident of Swaroop Nagar in Delhi was seen in a video swinging two swords at Red Fort on January 26. Reportedly, he had motivated six persons from the region. They riding upon bikes, had accompanied tractor rally of farmers heading from Singhu border towards Mukarba Chowk on the Republic Day.

Tens of thousands of farmers broke barriers to storm the national capital on January 26, their tractor parade to highlight their demands dissolving into unprecedented scenes of anarchy as they fought with police, overturned vehicles and delivered a national insult hoisting a religious flag from the ramparts of the Red Fort, a privilege reserved for India''s tricolour.

Toolkit: Masterminds abroad, foot-soldiers in India infiltrated the protests to wreck havoc
[OneIndia] New Delhi, Feb 18: The sole intention of the banned outfit Poetic Justice Foundation is to spread unrest in the country. The outfit took advantage of the ongoing farmers' protest and created networks to incite violence, the police probing the toolkit case have learnt.

Sources tell OneIndia that all the instructions to the foot-soldiers in India came from abroad. The specific instruction was to create unrest and also begin a disinformation campaign, the investigations have also found.

A Zoom meeting held before January 26 is also under the scanner. The police say that the protests were discussed at the meeting held virtually and around 70 persons took part in it. While 26 from abroad attended the meeting, the rest were from India.

Maal-e-Ganimat: 11 JMB operatives charged for dacoity intended to raise terror funds
[OneIndia] The National Investigation Agency has filed a chargesheet against 11 gunnies of the Jamaat-ul-Mujahideen, Bangladesh for dacoities committed by them in the year 2018.

Najir Sheikh, Arif Hussain, Kador Kazi, Asif Iqbal were among the 11 to the charged by the NIA.

The NIA said that in the month of February 2018, four cases were registered for the dacoities committed by the members of the JMB. They had hatched a conspiracy to raise funds for terror activities under the pretext of Maal-e-Ganimat. The JMB gunnies committed dacoities in four place in Bengaluru.

During investigation, all these accused persons were taken in police custody and were thoroughly interrogated. The main accused Jahidul Islam alias Kausar disclosed and pointed out all the hideouts where he along with his associates/JMB members had taken shelter and identified shops from where they had procured instruments for using the same in dacoities and also the houses where dacoities were committed from February to April, 2019.

Investigation also revealed that Jahidul Islam , a Bangladeshi national, who is the main conspirator and leader of JMB, a proscribed terrorist organization, was involved in promoting the activities of JMB in India. He is one of the prime accused in serial blasts in Bangladesh carried out by JMB in 2005.

The investigation established the broad network forged by JMB gunnies in India for committing terrorist and subversive activities by procuring arms and explosives, recruiting youth and conducting training camps, the NIA said.

It may be recalled that back in 2014, the Students Islamic Movement of India had launched a Maal-e-Ganimat wing, which was aimed at raising funds. This wing only focused on the finances and after the module was busted, the Sherlocks learnt that the group was involved in robberies and extortion.

The SIMI wing was involved in robberies in Karimnagar and Madhya Pradesh. Officials tell OneIndia that the wing started by the SIMI was replicated by the JMB as well. A dedicated set of operatives are assigned to the wing and their job is to raise funds by committing acts of robberies and dacoities, the officer also said.

[AlAhram] It has been nearly two years since the US-led coalition captured the last sliver of territory held by the IS group, ending their self-declared caliphate that covered large parts of Iraq and Syria

The deaths stacked up: a policeman rubbed out with a pistol equipped with a silencer, a local official bumped off, his son maimed, an Iraqi man beheaded. In total, 20 men and women were killed last month in the sprawling camp in northeastern Syria housing families of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
