[ToloNews] Doctors at Wazir Akbar Khan hospital have said that an employee working for the Iranian embassy in Kabul was maimed in an armed attack in Kabul on Wednesday night.
Sources told TOLOnews that the attack happened in PD10 of Kabul and an Iranian was maimed.
According to the doctors, the name of the employee is Mahdi, and he said he is a secretary at the Iranian embassy in Kabul.
"A patient was brought to us—he was an Iranian citizen—he had wounds on his right arm, a nerve was severed and there were internal and external injuries on his hand," said Haris Arif, a surgeon in Wazir Akbar Khan hospital.

Officials at Wazir Akbar Khan hospital have said that every single night they treat three or four people who survive criminal attacks in Kabul.
On Wednesday night, doctors treated five maimed people who had survived criminal attacks.

[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Tunisian security forces resorted to lethal force on Wednesday to disperse a sit-in staged by leaders of the opposition Free Destourian Party outside the headquarters of the International Union of Moslem Scholars, sparking criticism over the government’s mishandling of the situation.
Opposition parties called on the government to resign, blaming it for assaulting the protesting MPs and wounding some of them.
Abir Moussa, head of the party, has organized the sit-in with a number of supporters in an attempt to terminate the Union’s activities.
For months now, Moussa has been accusing Union officials of supporting terrorism and organizing ideological courses that promote violence and extremism and serve radical religious currents.
Tension and chaos prevailed between protesters and some of the Union members, who refused to leave the headquarters and urged authorities and the prime minister to intervene.
Moussa published a video footage on the party’s official page showing the security forces’ use of violence and tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Commenting on the incident, Prime Minister Hichem Mechichi said the Public Prosecution is the only body authorized to enforce the law in light of the curfew and the state of emergency in Tunisia.
Any accusation against the government is this regard is "baseless," Mechichi stressed, noting that all actions taken are within the law, which is applied equally on all parties.

Boko Haram has been trying to establish an Islamist state in northeastern Nigeria since 2009. The terror group has also extended its attacks to other countries in the Lake Chad Basin.

Counter-Terrorism Department DIG Omar Shahid Hamid told a press conference along with Rangers officials in Karachi that an intelligence-based operation was ongoing since 2017 when the Sindh Rangers had arrested a team of MQM-London target killers. It was found that the female activist of MQM-L, who lives in Texas, United States, ran a target killing network in Karachi, Hamid said.
DIG Hamid and Col Shabbir of Rangers identified the woman as US-based MQM-L activist Kehkashan Haider. According to DIG Hamid, she has been based in Texas since the 1990s and has remained a close aide of MQM founder Altaf Hussain. “The MQM-L’s Coordination Committee member, Kehkashan Haider, has established target killer groups in collaboration with India’s RAW and anti-Pakistan Sindhi and Baloch groups to target law enforcement agencies, police and political and religious leaders in Pakistan, particularly in Karachi,” Hamid said.
The CTD has registered a case against Haider under Sections 11-H and 11-N of Anti-Terrorism Act of Pakistan pertaining to terror financing, DIG Hamid said. “This has always been a purpose of the MQM-L that terrorism is spread in Karachi […] so there is no doubt that it is a constant effort of theirs to once again plant feet in Karachi.”
He said it was “alarming” that a woman based in the US was coordinating such illicit activities in Karachi “like a mafia don”. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs would be approached to “take up this matter with the relevant law enforcement institutions of the US government”, according to the police officer.
“A clear line of financial transactions is appearing when we traced bank accounts and transactions,” he said, adding that the evidence of financial transactions for terror financing made Pakistan’s case stronger. “If there is any aspect of money laundering in this, [then] it will be investigated according to the Anti-Money Laundering Act and looked at by the FIA [Federal Investigation Agency].”
ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — The Global Coalition against the Islamic State (ISIS) bombarded the group’s bases on Mount Qarachogh, destroying 10 bases in 24 hours, a Peshmerga commander said on Thursday.
Ten ISIS bases, some of which had tunnels, were destroyed in a bombardment which began on Wednesday evening, Sirwan Barzani, commander of Peshmerga forces’ Gwer-Makhmour front, told Rudaw.
“The bombardment was conducted in cooperation with Peshmerga and Iraqi forces. During the period, ISIS was bombarded 28 times but no casualties have been reported,” said Barzani.
The mountain is located near the disputed town of Makhmour, in Erbil province but disputed between the Iraqi government and the Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG). It has been a safe haven for ISIS sleeper cells - thanks to the security gap between Peshmerga and Iraqi forces, as well as the rugged landscape.
ISIS controlled swathes of Iraq in 2014 but was announced territorially defeated in late 2017. Sleeper cells continue to conduct regular attacks across the country.
Six ISIS suspects were arrested in Kirkuk and Diyala, military spokesperson Yehia Rasool said on Thursday, adding that jets also bombarded ISIS fighters on Mount Hamrin in Diyala province.

According to a report on Tuesday, the Syrian Arab Army targeted a pick-up truck carrying ISIS gunnies through the Badiya al-Sham region of western Deir Ezzor, resulting in a number of casualties in the ranks of the terrorist group.
Major General Nizar Ahmed al-Khader, head of the security and military committee in Deir Ezzor Governorate, commander of the 17th Infantry Division, revealed in a statement to Sputnik Arabic:
"During combing operations carried out by the Syrian Arab Army with the support of the allied Russian forces in the Syrian Badiya to eliminate remnants the (ISIS) terrorist organization, 1.5 km west of the al-Qarha area, two pickup trucks were spotted.
