Paktika: NDS Reports Killing 'Key' Al Qaeda Member, Taliban Commander
[ToloNews] The Afghan intelligence agency—the National Directorate Security (NDS)-- in a statement on Tuesday said that the NDS’s special operation units eliminated a "key member" of an Al Qaeda network and a "high-profile Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
commander" during an operation in Giyan district of Paktika
...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo...
province.

"Special forces of the National Directorate of Security
...the Afghan national intel agency...
during a targeted operation eliminated a key member of Al Qaeda network including a Taliban commander during a targeted operation in Gilan district of Paktika province," the statement said.

"Dawlat Bek Tajiki, known as Abu Mohammad al-Tajiki, a key member of Al Qaeda network for the Indian subcontinent, and Hazrat Ali, also known as Hamza, a native of Wazoo and a commander of the Taliban terrorist group, were considered among the plotters of highly complicated attacks," the statement said.

"These individuals were links between the Al Qaeda network and the Taliban terrorist group and were responsible for equipping and financing the Taliban terrorist group," the statement said.

The NDS said that the two commanders were providing advice to the Taliban for their spring offensive.

According to the NDS, the two were also responsible for financing and providing weapons and military training to the Taliban in Ghazni and Zabul provinces.

Kenyan police arrest 3, seize cache of weapons in border region
[Garowe] Kenyan police said Tuesday they have arrested three suspects and recovered a cache of weapons during a security operation in Garissa County which borders Somalia.

Rono Bunei, northeastern regional police commander, said the three suspects were nabbed while transporting eight rifles, 2,104 bullets, and 20 liters of petrol along a busy road in the Lagdera area when they were intercepted after a four-hour chase.

Bunei said the police who were patrolling the area spotted the salon car at about 5 p.m. on Monday before the driver sped off prompting a chase which took four hours to end.

"The three suspicious occupants sped off to the bushes when being stopped. The operation was mounted to trace and arrest the occupants of the vehicle," Bunei said in Garissa.

The security described the recovery as a boost in the war on terrorism and noted that the weapons were to be used in an undisclosed terror mission in the country. The regional police commander said weapons are not Kenyan because they have not been registered in the country.

The area is near the Kenya-Somalia border and Dadaab hosts thousands of refugees, most of whom are from Somalia.

Kenya has been on a heightened vigilance due to the threat of terror posed by the al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...

Al-Shabaab holy warriors have been attacking places in the region especially in Mandera and Garissa counties in the northeast region bordering Somalia after breaching security zones, which left dozens of civilians and security officials dead and maimed.

Al-Shabaab pilot may be planning attack in Kenya, police warn
[Garowe] Kenyan security agencies appealed to members of the public to volunteer information that may lead to the arrest and prosecution of Rashid Mwalimu who is wanted by the Anti-terrorism police.

According to a statement sent out to media houses, Mwalimu who is currently in Somalia should be considered armed and dangerous; he is a trained pilot who is on a mission to carry an aviation attack on behalf of the terror group al-Shabaab
...... Somalia's version of the Taliban, functioning as an arm of al-Qaeda...
Security agencies handling the matter believe he will be attempting to sneak back into the country.

Probe into his alleged involvement with the terror group uncovered that he trained as a pilot in the Philippines alongside an accomplice Cholo Abdi Abdulla who is currently in lawful custody.

Security sources say that Cholo and Mwalimu were close friends and joined al-Shabaab in 2015.

The duo trained and conducted attacks in Somalia before being sent to the Boni forest where they were selected for an aviation course based on their impressive academic credentials.

They are also said to have been close friends with the leader of the DusitD2 attack- Salim Gichunge (Faruq) and Osman Gedi (a Dusit attacker).

While Gichunge and Gedi were hand-picked for the Kenyan attack, the other pair was picked to train as pilots to subsequently be deployed to hijack airplanes.

Cholo was arrested in July 2019 in the Philippines where he had been studying aviation at the All-Ais aviation academy.

US intelligence believes Cholo who is facing six (6) counts of terrorism-related offenses arising from his activities as an al-Shabaab member, had been planning to hijack a plane and carry out a 9/11 style attack in the US.

Further, reports indicate that Cholo led security agencies to his hideout partly due to his own recklessness.

A known womanizer, Cholo accidentally let the cat out of the bag, telling his harem of his pursuits and future plans and inadvertently inviting coppers to his hideout.

Upon his arrest, his colleague Mwalimu escaped back to Somalia and according to Kenyan security agencies ’cunningly lied about what foiled their plan’.

Members have been urged to continue cooperating with the security agencies to report incidences and potentially foil any planned terror activities.

Libyan Judge Receives Death Threats after Convicting Terrorist

Hamad al-Ushaibi, a front man for the Libyan Revolutionaries Leadership Gathering has threatened to kill Judge Mohsen Busifi for the verdict against Touati.

Al-Ushaibi said in his tweet that carried Busifi’s photo: "This animal who sentenced to death a member of the Libya Shield

In February, the Tripoli Court of Appeals issued a verdict against Touati, ordering death by firing squad, for joining bully boy groups in the city of Benghazi.

#2  FRELIMO, from the Portuguese Frente de Libertação de Moçambique, is the dominant political party in Mozambique. Founded in 1962, FRELIMO began as a nationalist movement fighting for the independence of the Portuguese Overseas Province of Mozambique.

There was a half-arsed effort by US contractors funded by 'you know who' to change the course of events or keep Washington posted on battlefield trends. I'm not sure which aspect had priority, but any sort of alliance with an 'apartheid regime' would have been politically bad juju. In any event, once the Portuguese finally left, it all turned to kak. Yemeni armed forces advance further towards heart of Ma'rib
[PRESSTV] Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
’s army and Popular Committees have liberated more areas from Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
-led forces in the countryside of Ma’rib, the capital of a west-central province of the same name.

The victories came about on Tuesday across the city’s western and north-western suburbs, al-Khabar al-Yemeni news website reported.

The Yemeni forces have resumed their advances against the aggressors in the province since Saturday, it said. Ever since, they have managed to take back many areas, including some parts of the province’s Sirwah District and a large number of garrisons close to the Sahn al-Jin military camp in Ma'rib.

The camp hosts the defense ministry of Yemen’s Saudi-allied former government and is hence of considerable strategic importance.

The former officials fled Yemen in 2015 amid a power struggle without staying behind and negotiating a solution. Saudi Arabia and many of its allies then invaded the impoverished country to restore power to them.

The war has so far killed tens of thousands of Yemenis and turned the entire country into the scene of the world’s worst humanitarian crisis.

The Yemeni forces have, however, never laid down their arms in the face of the invaders and have, over the past months, managed to return many parts of Ma’rib to Sana’a’s control despite the constant aerial bombing of the province by the Saudi-led coalition.

Caribbean-Latin America
Huge Rise in Child Migrants Crossing Dangerous Panama Jungle, Says UN
[AnNahar] The number of US-bound migrant children crossing the dangerous Darien jungle in Panama on foot has increased more than 15-fold in recent years and is likely to rise further during the pandemic, the UN children's agency warned on Monday.

Children accounted for just two percent of these migrants colonists in 2017 but that had risen to more than 25 percent in 2020, UNICEF said in a statement.

The Darien Gap jungle, the only land corridor between Colombia and Panama, is "one of the most dangerous routes in the world due to the mountainous terrain, wildlife and insects, as well as the presence of criminal organizations," the agency added.
Michael Yon has been reporting from there. War correspondent he may be, but he finds the gap quite upsetting.
Crossing the vast, roadless Darien Gap rainforest is the only option for US-bound migrants colonists traveling overland from South America. Most of those making the crossing are Haitians and Cubans, but there are also some Asians and Africans.

"I've seen women step out of the jungle carrying their babies in their arms after walking for more than seven days without water, food or any kind of protection," said Jean Gough, UNICEF regional director for Latin America and the Caribbean.

Over the past four years, more than 46,500 migrants colonists, including 6,240 children and adolescents, have crossed the inhospitable jungle. The number of minors increased from 109 to 1,653 between 2017 and 2020, UNICEF said.

In 2019, a peak of nearly 4,000 children made the crossing. Half of them were under five years old and many arrive injured and with serious physical and psychological problems.

Experts believe more and more migrants colonists are choosing to travel with their families, including young children and pregnant women, to avoid being deported to the different countries they pass through.

"These families are pushing their own limits and putting their lives in danger, often without realizing how much of a risk they are taking. Those who manage to eventually cross this perilous border are physically and mentally devastated," Gough added.

Migration across the dangerous jungle is likely to increase in the next months due to the economic crisis and unemployment generated by the Covid-19 pandemic, coupled with violence and climate change, UNICEF said.

Europe
Three held in Italy over fake kidnapping by jihadists that turned real
So sharp they cut themselves. Wow.
[IsraelTimes] Italian businessman also charged after attempting to fake his own capture for ransom money, then being kidnapped, held in Syria for three years.

Three men have been arrested for criminal masterminding the kidnapping of two Italians who were held captive in Syria for three years, Italian police said Tuesday.

Over the course of 2016, the three who were arrested — all from the northern Brescia province — had convinced two businessmen from the area to travel to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
One of the two, Alessandro Sandrini,
...a good Italian name...
was convinced to go with the offer of faking his own kidnapping during the trip, and earn ransom money.

The other businessman, Sergio Zanotti, made the journey after being promised a business deal involving Iraqi currency.

Once in Turkey, both businessmen were captured for real near the Syrian border and taken to Syria, where they were held captive by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
, a jihadist group.

According to a police statement, the three men who were arrested had associates in Turkey who carried out the kidnapping and handed the two Italians over to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham.

Zanotti left Italia in April 2016 and remained a prisoner until April 2019. Sandrini arrived in Turkey in October 2016 and was freed in May 2019.

Media reports, which quoted investigative sources, said Sandrini was charged for fraud and simulating a crime, as part of the same probe that led to Tuesday’s arrests.

Police said a third businessman was approached about making the trip to Turkey, but pulled out at the last minute, refusing to board his plane.

Just as we were told, falsely, for years that the number of illegals in this country was around 11 million - when in fact it's over 20 million, so we're now being fed numbers that are almost certainly less than half the real numbers.

This is criminal behavior from our elected officials. Failure to defend the border, the homeland and the Constitution.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Kurds Say 53 ISIS Members Arrested in Syria's Al-Hole Camp
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Kurdish forces said Tuesday they had arrested 53 suspected ISIS group members in a northeast Syria camp for relatives of turbans, in an anti-ISIS security operation.

The US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) announced the launch Sunday of the sweep in al-Hol camp, which has been rocked by liquidations and breakout attempts.

Kurdish authorities have warned that the settlement, home to almost 62,000 people, is turning into an turban powder keg because of ISIS members hiding out among camp residents.

The Kurds' Asayish security forces said they had "detained 53 ISIS members, including five leaders of ISIS sleeper cells that carried out violent mostly peaceful terrorist attacks in the camp".

They had also "confiscated mobile phones as well as several laptops", the SDF-allied police unit added.

Heavily-armed Kurdish forces stood guard outside the camp as others stormed suspected hideouts inside the vast settlement, an AFP news hound said.

In some sections, residents stood outside their tents watching the anti-terrorist squad scour the area.

Al-Hol is the larger of two Kurdish-run displacement camps for relatives of ISIS hard boyz in Syria's northeast.

It holds mostly Syrians and Iraqis but also thousands from Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and Asia suspected of family ties with ISIS fighters.

Many residents see the camp as the last vestige of the ISIS proto-state that the hard boyz declared in 2014 across large swathes of both Syria and Iraq.

Kurdish authorities have recorded more than 40 murders in al-Hol since the start of this year.

They say ISIS sympathizers are behind most of the murders, while humanitarian aid sources have said tribal disputes could be behind some of the killings.

Simand Ali, a Kurdish official, told AFP hard boyz had dug trenches in al-Hol that they used to hide prohibited electronic devices and other goods.

Those detained so far have mostly been Syrians and Iraqis, he said.
Al Masdar adds:
The Asayish said, in a statement about the results of the first days of the campaign it launched at dawn on Monday, that it had arrested Abu Saad al-Iraqi, whom it described as one of the leaders of ISIS, and that he worked for a long time to recruit people for the organization.
