On the Eve of Destruction
[News with Views] As I write this message, I feel obligated to put a "time stamp" on it because things are happening so quickly now. So, for your reference, this is being written in early October, 2024. The presidential election is just a little more than a month away now. By the time you read or hear this, it will be less than a month away.

And as I compile this message, the words of Barry McGuire’s 1965 song echo in my mind and I can’t help but feel this really is the time he sang about way back then, because today, we really are "on the eve of destruction." Many have waited so long for this upcoming date: November 5, 2024... for an end to the Communist Regime in power in our nation, for an end to the deliberate destruction of our country, an end to the demoniacs "building back better," "unburdened by what has been," after tearing down all that we’ve built. An end to the weaponization of our judicial system, the tyranny endured by good, patriotic and Godly men and women and an opportunity for justice to return to America.

And what have we learned over these past four years? Oh, so much. First of all, we’ve all learned we’re definitely not better off today than we were four years ago. We’ve also learned just how deep, wide and real the "Deep State" really is and that there’s no longer any aspect of our federal government that can be trusted by the people. We’ve learned the Democrats are absolute, total evil demons and the Republicans are their controlled opposition. As I’ve said before, I no longer refer to Democrats and Republicans. They’re best described as Communists and Politicians, two wings of the same foul bird.

We also learned, over the past four years, just how quickly the Deep State can implement complete global control. Let me remind you. It was Friday, March 13, 2020 that Fauci and Company went on the national airwaves and declared "just two weeks to flatten the curve." That afternoon, panic set in and stores were quickly sold out of (of all things) toilet paper. By Monday, the 16th, our nation was in full lockdown. Businesses deemed "non-essential" were forbidden to open. Masks became mandatory. People were ordered to stay in their homes. Even churches were ordered to remain closed, while liquor stores and marijuana dispensaries were deemed "essential."

It all happened so fast. And immediately, I mean within days of the COVID declaration, those "essential" businesses that remained open already had plexiglass in place, signs and stickers had been designed, printed and distributed nationwide to every open public place with the number "6" on them. We had "6" on the floors, "6" on the doors, "6" at every store checkout, arbitrarily ordering the population to remain 6’ apart. And designer masks became big business — again within days, there were literally thousands of styles of masks available for sale. Fancy, expensive masks, masks with humorous messages, masks of every shape, size and style.

Fake Crowds, Fake Ads, Real Ridicule: A Week of Failures for Harris-Walz
[AMGreatness] If I may start with an understatement: It has not been a good week for team Kamala Harris. First, there was the scandal of her interview on the CBS program 60 Minutes. Asked about US influence on Israel, Harris delivered one of her signature, zero-calorie word salads. We know this because the network released a preview of the interview on social media, where it was promptly pounced upon and mocked. But when the entire interview aired, the interview was edited so that Harris’s original answer was replaced by a brief answer lifted from another part of the interview.

That bit of techno-fraud was instantly pilloried and deposited a lot of unsightly egg on the corporate face of CBS. I have not seen anything resembling an apology or even an acknowledgment from the network. As of this writing, calls for an unedited transcript of the whole interview to be released have gone unanswered. As the Federalist’s Mollie Hemingway wrote, CBS’s refusal is "a huge scandal" that, among other things, "suggests that much of the entire finished product was manipulative and deceitful, and not just the one horrible example that was discovered."

Bad though the episode is for CBS, it is also humiliating for Harris. As Macbeth noted in another context, "When sorrows come, they come not single spies but in battalions." The 60 Minutes débâcle was only the advance guard assaulting team Harris last week. Then there was a disastrous "town hall" meeting in which, again, multiple humiliations were assembled. First, some attentive scribe noticed that Harris was reading her replies off a teleprompter. Remember that was supposed to be an open forum in which Harris could connect with voters personally. But here she was, repeating scripted replies to pre-formulated questions.

And that was not the worst of it. A little digging revealed that the audience, too, was scripted. As one commentator noted, "Kamala Harris’s disastrous Univision town hall featured a ’fake’ audience. 50% of the attendees were handpicked from across the country and flown to the town hall and were allowed to ask questions. The other 50% of the attendees were hired by an ’audience-for-hire’ company and weren’t allowed to ask questions. The event was completely stage-directed and fake."

An "audience-for-hire company"? Yep. I am not sure exactly which company team Harris employed, but it turns out that such initiatives are a booming business. Consider, for example, the company Crowds on Demand. Their website advertises "PROTESTS • RALLIES • ADVOCACY" and goes on to boast that

Whether your organization is lobbying to gain approval of a project, move forward a legislative initiative, bring additional pressure within complex litigation or trying to see swift and effective action in another way, we can set-up protests, rallies, demonstrations, alternatives to litigation or business disputes, coordinate phone-banking initiatives and even create non-profit organizations to advance your agenda.

I suspect that Democrats have frequent recourse to such companies. The Harris campaign, at any rate, is nearly 100% synthetic. Its crowds are actors or activists for hire. Ditto the figures populating its ads. In what has been derided as the "cringiest political ad ever," a Harris satellite, attempting to address the campaign’s masculinity deficit, just released the truly horrible "I’m-a-man-and-I’m-voting-for-Harris" ad.

Like many people, I at first thought it was a spoof, an anti-Harris production designed to make fun of her and her running mate, Tim Walz. That certainly was the effect. But it turns out that the half dozen men in the ad were not random XY creatures who just happened to support Harris for president. No, they were B-list actors, recruited and paid to deliver their lines. (And what lines they were. One actor who pretended to know something about cars, said "You think I’m afraid to rebuild a carburetor? I eat carburetors for breakfast." I am thinking of offering a reward to anyone who can tell me what that means.)

One enterprising commentator discovered who wrote the ad—Jacob Reed, a writer for the late-night talk host Jimmy Kimmel—and the real-life biographies of the actors. Let’s just say that none is a poster child for masculinity. The comments have been brutal. "Zero testosterone was used in the making of this ad"; "A Real Man instantly realizes that there isn’t a single Real Man in this pathetic beta male cringe-fest of a propaganda video"; "From the party that can’t tell you what a woman is"; "As a man, I think I walked away from this ad with a yeast infection."

The world was still ridiculing the ad when the news came that Tim Walz, in another effort to assuage the doubts about his masculinity, had invited journalists on a pheasant hunt. A bunch of photographs of the "hunt" are circulating. You’ll see lots of outdoorsy garb and a few dogs. What you won’t see are any shotguns. In a real hunting party, every hunter would have a couple of shotguns to hand. But in the fake, synthetic world of Harris-Walz, no guns were thought necessary. As someone quipped, perhaps they were planning to catch the pheasants by hand and strangle them. Eventually, Walz was given a gun, but it was painfully clear that he had no idea how to handle it. As one commentator noted, Walz’s "gun handling skills make Dick Cheney look like the safest shooter in the world. Perhaps that is why Cheney endorsed him."

All this happened in a matter of days, and the days in question are barely three weeks from the election. What we are witnessing is the panicked flailing of a campaign that is desperately attempting to recoup its lost initiative. The result is partly embarrassing, partly hilarious. Strange things can happen in the last days of a presidential campaign. Sudden reversals of fortune are not unknown. Candidates can suddenly turn things around and emerge victorious after weeks or months of trailing in the polls. The most difficult obstacle to victory, however, is being made to appear ridiculous. That is almost inevitably fatal. Harris and Walz have made themselves ridiculous time and again this last week or two. I do not believe they can recover.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israeli strike on Iran’s nuclear facility raises concerns of contamination: Expert
How other experts are thinking on the subject.
[Rudaw] Hamish de Bretton-Gordon, a former colonel in the British army and security expert on chemical biological, radiological, and nuclear weapons, discusses potential targets in Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
for Israel including nuclear, military, and oil facilities in an interview with Rudaw’s Zana Kayani
... four star general, Chief of Army Staff of the Mighty Pak Army. Kayani was the former Director General of ISI...
on Tuesday. Bretton-Gordon’s comments come nearly a week after Iran launched around 200 missiles at Israeli targets and speculation builds for an Israeli response.

As Iran has not enriched uranium to weapons-grade levels, a potential Israeli strike would not create a nuclear explosion, Bretton-Gordon detailed, but there would be nuclear contamination. Such an attack, the retired colonel said, would make it "impossible for Iran to develop a nuclear weapon in the foreseeable future, which I think most people in the world would hope for. What is not known is how Iran would react if that happened."

Asked how Iran might respond if it were directly attacked, Bretton-Gordon said: "It might well be that Iran will use some of its proxies in Syria and Iraq to attack Israeli and Western facilities. Due to the ineffectiveness of Iran’s barrage, Bretton-Gordon said Tehran has limited options if it wanted to carry out follow-up attacks. Because there is uncertainty of Iran’s nuclear capabilities, he cautioned that Tehran could consider chemical weapon attacks or "an improvised nuclear device, or a dirty bomb."

Below is the full transcript of the interview.

Rudaw: I have a special guest today. We will discuss this topic together. Chemical and biological expert, Colonel Hamish Gordon. Hi, Colonel. Thanks for being with us. After Iran's attack on Israel, do you expect Israel to respond to Iran, or will Israel avoid escalating the conflict to avoid playing into Hamas
..always the voice of sweet reason...
's hands?

Hamish de Bretton-Gordon: Well, Israel certainly said it will attack Iran. And when Iran attacked Israel back in April of this year with 320 rockets, Israel did respond a few days later with one missile aimed at Isfahan at some of the military establishments there. So one is expecting Israel will respond - fairly soon, I expect. What targets it will hit is difficult to say. Potentially the nuclear development facilities the Iran government has to try and make a nuclear weapon or other military facilities or possibly also the oil industry; but at the moment, it's not entirely clear.

Mr. Gordon, if Israel targets Iran's nuclear facilities, what might the consequences be?

Well, I think there are a number of issues here. First of all, if Israel did attack the nuclear facilities, there is very unlikely to be some sort of nuclear explosion as relatively small amounts of uranium, which is required to make a nuclear device, is likely to be stored there. And Iran is not yet enriched uranium to the required level - 90 percent pure - in order to make a nuclear device. So there would be some contamination, certainly, but it would not create a nuclear explosion. What it probably would do is make it impossible for Iran to develop a nuclear weapon in the foreseeable future, which I think most people in the world would hope for. What is not known is how Iran would react if that happened. Iran has already fired over 500 missiles at Israel, and most of those have been destroyed before they have hit the ground.

It's difficult to know how Iran could escalate. Their terrorist proxies, Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Iran's Houthi sock puppets
...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him...
s have been attacking ostensibly Israel for some time now, but they have been severely damaged in the Israeli counterattacks in the last few months or so. It might well be that Iran will use some of its proxies in Syria and Iraq to attack Israeli and Western facilities. It is a remote possibility, I think, that Iran might try and fire chemical weapons

...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented...
into Israel. But I think because they have seen that their missiles have not been able to strike Israel, there's no reason why a missile with a chemical weapon in it would do that as well. So I think their options are fairly limited and no doubt allies in the region and the US and NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A single organization with differing goals, equipment, language, doctrine, and structure....
are trying to de-escalate this as much as possible. And of course, everybody in the world and the region in particular would like to see a ceasefire between Israel and Iran as soon as possible.

You mentioned other countries' role in the region. Why is the US urging Israel not to strike Iran's nuclear facilities?

Well, I think it's both of those reasons. There is a concern that certainly there would be some sort of contamination in the areas where those facilities are. I think people are not fully aware of how advanced Iran's nuclear capability is. And as I said, the desire to prevent Iran escalating with potentially chemical weapons or whatever nuclear capability they have. I think there is also concern about the relationship between Iran and Russia over the last year or so. We know that Iran has given a lot of missiles, ballistic missiles to Russia -

Yes sir, do you think that Iran would use nuclear weapons in response?

There is a possibility, and I think that is what the Americans are concerned about. Yes, Iran could respond possibly with chemical weapons or with some sort of nuclear device, probably not a fully-fledged nuclear weapon, maybe an improvised nuclear device, or a dirty bomb. So that is the issue. And of course, the other thing that the US is saying is not to attack the Iranian oil industry because the Americans are very concerned about the rise in the price of petrol, and the US have an election coming up next month. There is a concern amongst American politicians that a high price of fuels would adversely affect the US election. So there are a whole host of reasons, and I think everybody really is hoping or desiring peace as soon as possible, and attacking nuclear facilities might make that less likely rather than more likely.

As you mentioned, all possibilities are available. What kind of weapons do you anticipate Israel might use if it launches an attack on Iran?

Well, I think the Israelis will use long-range precision ballistic missiles, which they have used before. These are either would be launched directly from Israel or they also in some of their stealth fighters, like their F-35s, have the ability to fire missiles from these aircraft, but it is likely to be precision missiles no doubt supported by electronic warfare and other capabilities to ensure that they strike their targets and Iranian air defense does not take them down. But it is clear that the Iranians do not have similar air defense to the Israeli's Iron Dome. Israel fired one missile in April, which hit its target. And as we've seen, 500 missiles from Iran very few hit their targets. So it will be precision-guided missiles either fired directly from Israel or from Israeli fighter jets, I expect.

Iran claims it will use newer weapons and technology in its next attack on Israel. What are Iran's current capabilities in military technology?

Well, I'm very surprised that they haven't used them already. Iran has been humiliated by the fact that all the missiles it's fired towards Israel have not been hit. So I think there is an amount of bluff and bluster here. I'm not sure that Iran has got any more sophisticated missiles. It may [from] the Russians, President [Vladimir] Putin may have given them more sophisticated missiles, but that seems highly unlikely because the Russians are so focused on missiles themselves in their illegal attack on Ukraine. So I would be very surprised if Iran has anything more sophisticated, and it's hard already. And I'd be very surprised if they had more than a few missiles that actually hit targets in Israel that penetrated the Israeli air defense system.

Mr. Gordon, what role does artificial intelligence (AI) play in the current conflicts in the Middle East and Ukraine?

Well, I think it plays a very major role, more particularly in Ukraine which is where I have more experience. But the mass use of drones, miniature drones, the way that they are used is greatly enhanced by AI, enabling them to use thousands of drones at a time, controlled by very few people to attack multiple targets. And this is a new advance. When I was helping the Peshmerga in the fight against ISIS back in 2015 and 2016, ISIS [the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
] had one or two drones that had a small impact but not a huge impact. Now we see tens of thousands, if not hundreds of thousands of drones being used at the same time, but they wouldn't be as effective without AI. So it's fundamental for the current operation, particularly drone warfare at the moment.

What are the environmental and health consequences of using these weapons and explosives in the region and worldwide?

Well, war is never good for the planet and never has been and never will be. I think what we're seeing in Ukraine, a country absolutely devastated by war - not only with the destruction of buildings which of course we've seen over the Middle East in the last few years as well - but also the destruction of the environment. In Ukraine, we've seen dams blown up and thousands and thousands of hectares of land flooded and contaminated. We've seen rivers in Ukraine contaminated deliberately in some cases. So, yeah, war devastates the planet in every way. One only has to look at the state of buildings in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
and elsewhere, the state of buildings in Ukraine, to see that war is absolutely devastating.

I think the other element that people potentially forget is the psychological element, the effect on people's mental health. And no doubt all those young children growing up in Ukraine, in Gaza, and in Israel will be mentally scarred by the wars that are going on. So yeah, it's horrific. And somebody like myself who spent 35 years on the battlefield of the world would always advocate peace; war is to be avoided at all costs.

Chemical and biological expert Mr. Hamish Gordon, thanks for being with us, sir.

Don't worry. I'm very fond of Kurdistan. As I said, I spent two years helping the Peshmerga in the fight with ISIS.

#6  where the contamination will happen

"Trade Winds: The trade winds, which blow from the east, dominate the region’s climate. These winds originate from the Indian Ocean and the Red Sea, bringing warm, humid air from the tropics. They are strongest during the summer months (June to September) and contribute to the region’s hot and dry conditions.
Westerlies: In contrast, the westerlies, also known as the prevailing westerlies, blow from the west and northwest.
These winds are stronger during the winter months (December to February) and bring cooler, drier air from the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. The westerlies have a moderating effect on the region’s climate, reducing temperatures and humidity."

So clean up Lebanon then move on Iran.
