Britain
UK intercepts 74 migrants crossing English Channel
[DW] The coastguard said the migrant boats were located along Britannia's southeast coast. A senior British minister said the situation was "alarming" amid concerns that warming weather could fuel more crossings.
Last summer they were mostly Iranians and such. This year, thus far, they somehow don’t seem to be saying.
British authorities intercepted eight vessels carrying some 74 migrants colonists, including minors, across the English Channel on Saturday. French authorities reportedly caught two additional boats.

Coastguard officials said the boats were found along Britannia's southeast coast, stretching from the port of Dover to Winchelsea Beach near Hastings, some 50 miles (80 kilometers) away.

Authorities worry that warmer weather conditions could fuel a rise in illegal crossings over the Channel.

According to Home Office, some 539 people attempted to cross the strait last year, with smugglers serving as the conduit.

That prompted Javid to declare last December that the rise in migrant crossings was a "major incident" for the UK.

"It is an established principle that those in need of protection should claim asylum in the first safe country they reach and since January, more than 30 people who arrived illegally in the UK in small boats have been returned to Europe," Javid said.

"We will continue to seek to return anyone who has entered the UK illegally," he added.

Although crossings are on the rise, Britannia has fared better than fellow EU nations Spain, Italia and Greece on the Mediterranean Sea, where more than 21,300 migrants colonists have crossed so far this year and at least 519 others have died trying, according to the International Organization for Migration.

Clashes along Turkey-Iran borders turn deadly: Turkish state-media
[Rudaw] Two Ottoman Turkish soldiers were killed and another five were maimed on Saturday, during a clash between the Ottoman Turkish army and an gang, according to Ottoman Turkish state media.

Citing security sources, state run Anadolu Agency (AA) reported that the fighting took place in Igdir province, close to the Ottoman Turkish-Iranian border, but did not identify a specific group.

In a separate incident on May 10, one Ottoman Turkish soldier was killed and another was injured in the same province, following the kaboom of an improvised bomb (IED).
Andolu alleged that the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK) was behind the attack.

One of the deadliest attacks on Ottoman Turkish security forces in Igdir, took place in 2015 in the Dilicu area, when 14 coppers guarding a customs office, were killed by a roadside kaboom, that was also attributed to the PKK.

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire....
has intensified its attacks against the PKK recently, and Hulusi Akar, Turkey's Defense Minister has said their objective is to "eradicate" the Kurdish fighters.

Turkey and the PKK have clashed for three and a half decades inside Turkey and along the Iran-Turkey-Iraq borders, with an estimated 40,000 people , including members of the security forces and members of the guerilla group were killed in the conflict, since 1984.

At least 4,397 people have been killed since the ending of a short-lived grinding of the peace processor between both sides in July 20, 2015, according to the latest numbers from the International Crisis Group (ICG), a conflict monitor, updated on Friday.

Turkey is building a 144 kilometre security wall on its borders with Iran in Agri province which borders with Igdir.

Iranian security forces have also clashed with members of armed opposition Kurdish groups based in Iraqi Kurdistan in recent years.

Recently, the official Iranian state agency, IRNA, reported on Thursday that one of the members of the Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) was killed in Chaldoran County, which borders Igdir, on late Tuesday.

IRNA identified Ibrahim Akhondzadeh as the dear departed.

Iran blamed "anti-revolution" groups, referring to a euphemism to Kurdish armed forces based in Iraqi-Kurdistan.

Clashes in the region have also led to causalities amongst kolbars‐semi-legal porters who transport goods across the Kurdistan Region- Iran border, either by foot or by horse.

Since last week, around half a dozen kolbars were killed in the crossfire of festivities taking place along the border areas.

Soldier martyred in attack on patrolling Army vehicle in North Waziristan
[DAWN] A Pakistain Army soldier has embraced martyrdom in a firing-and-blast attack in North Wazoo, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) announced on Saturday.

According to the Army's media wing, 26-year-old Amil Shah embraced martyrdom when a patrolling vehicle was targeted with an improvised bomb (IED) and firing in Boya area of North Waziristan.

"Terrorist activities in North Waziristan have increased lately. Over the last month, five soldiers have been martyred and 31 injured due to terrorist activities," read an ISPR statement.

The military's mouthpiece linked the attack with the recent Khar Qamar check post incident, saying that "the arrest of controllers of these terrorist activities had led to the incident on May 25."

On Sunday, the ISPR had released a statement saying that a check post in the area was assaulted by a group and in an exchange of fire, three people were killed while 15 were maimed ─ including five soldiers.

According to the statement, MNAs Mohsin Dawar and Ali Wazir ─ both of whom are leaders of the Pashtun Tahaffuz Movement (PTM) ─ were leading the group.

Israel attacks Syrian targets after rockets fired at Golan, IDF confirms
*sigh* When will they ever learn?
[Jpost] The IDF attacked a number of military targets in Syria on Sunday morning in response to two rockets which were fired at the Golan Heights from Syria on Saturday night, an IDF spokesperson confirmed.

IDF aircraft attacked a number of military targets connected to the Syrian military, including two artillery batteries, a number of observation and intelligence posts near the Golan Heights border and an SA-2 air defense battery.

During the Israeli attacks on Syria, IDF air defense systems were activated against anti-aircraft missiles. None of the missiles fell in Israeli territory, according to an IDF spokesperson.

Air defense systems were activated against missiles fired from the Golan Heights towards southwest Damascus, a Syrian military source said on Sunday morning, according to Kan news.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights stated that the attacks focused on groups of forces and warehouses connected to Hezbollah and Iran in southern Damascus, according to Kan.

At 4:10 a.m., Israel fired missiles towards the eastern Quneitra countryside causing damage and killing three soldiers and wounding seven other soldiers, a military source told the Syrian SANA news agency.

Two missiles were fired from Syria toward Israel’s Golan Heights on Saturday night, the IDF confirmed.

The military said it was checking reports that one of the missiles landed near the Mount Hermon ski resort while the other landed inside Syrian territory.

There were no incoming rocket sirens activated and no interception of the rockets. The military said there was no damage or injuries.

On Monday, the IDF struck a Syrian military position near Quneitra after an anti-aircraft missile was launched at a fighter jet flying in Israeli territory. According to reports, the Israeli strike killed a Syrian officer and soldier and damaged a military vehicle.

According to some reports the rockets fired Saturday night appeared to have been fired from the area of Damascus, some 40 km. away, similar to the January attack the IDF said at the time was a "premeditated" attack that Iran had hoped would deter Israel from carrying out Arclight airstrikes against their assets.

10 killed, 20 wounded in twin Daesh car bombing in Syria’s Raqqa
[PRESSTV] The Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who must be killed...
terrorist group ISIS has launched two major boom-mobileings in northern Syria, killing 10 people and injuring 20 more.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a London-based group reporting on anti-government operations in Syria, said late on Saturday that half of those killed in the city of Raqqa were members of the Kurdish-dominated Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) who were caught in a major boom-mobileing at the city’s al-Naim square.

It said several people had been maimed in a separate boom-mobileing in another part of Raqqa where ISIS has been launching recurrent attacks over the past months.

Raqqa, the former de facto capital of ISIS in Syria, has been controlled by SDF forces since October 2017.

The SDF, which also includes many Arab turbans on its ranks, has been backed by the United States in an alleged mission to purge ISIS and other turban groups from areas in north and northeastern Syria.

The group is also busy fighting Ottoman Turkish military and its associated turbans as Ankara sees Kurdish turbans in Syria as an extension of militancy inside its own territories.

, the jihadist rebels began their attack by attempting to breach the Syrian Army’s defenses at the northern axis of Huwayz.

The festivities would last for a short period of time and ended once the jihadist forces failed to breach the Syrian Army’s defenses during their second attack on Friday.

A source in northwestern Hama told al-Masdar News that both sides suffered minimal losses, adding that it appeared that the jihadist attack was meant to test the Syrian military’s defenses.

Friday’s attack by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham marked the first time that they have stormed Huwayz since their failed offensive at the Kafr Naboudeh axis.

ISIS operation kills several Syrian Army soldiers in eastern Homs
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Islamic State (ISIS/ISIL/IS/Daesh) carried out a new operation in the eastern countryside of the Homs province, today, targeting the Syrian Arab Army’s (SAA) positions east of Al-Sukhneh city.

ISIS began their operation by positioning themselves along a road leading from Al-Sukhneh to the provincial capital of Deir Ezzor.

The terrorist group would then ambush a Syrian Arab Army convoy that was traveling east from Al-Sukhneh, killing and wounding several soldiers in the process.

According to a Syrian military source, the Islamic State terrorists then withdrew from the area once army reinforcements arrived at the scene of the attack.

The Islamic State has been carrying out several attacks like this over the last few weeks, which has resulted in the death of over 100 Syrian Arab Army soldiers.

In response to these ambushes, the Syrian Arab Army has sent reinforcements to the Palmyra front; however, it appears ISIS has moved their operations to nearby Al-Sukhneh, which is located just south of the Al-Raqqa province.

2 rockets fired from Syria hit occupied Golan Heights, retaliatory attack expected
If they expect a response, why did they do it? See response here.
[ALMASDARNEWS] Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) alleged that two projectiles were fired from Syria into the occupied Golan Heights.

According to the reports, the projectiles were targeting the Mount Hermon (Jabal Sheikh) area.

No group grabbed credit.

The Israeli military is expected to launch a retaliatory attack in the coming hours as they always respond to all projectile strikes, regardless if it is from the Syrian military.
