New round of talks between Sudans poised to start
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] A new round of talks between Sudan, South Sudan and African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
mediators was poised to start here Sunday night, a front man for the South Sudanese delegation said.

"A few minutes ago they called the two chief chief negotiators to have a meeting with the panel," Atif Kiir, a front man for Juba's delegation told AFP early evening.

The latest round of talks comes one week after Sudanese President Omar al-Beshir and his South Sudanese counterpart Salva Kiir exchanged a symbolic handshake at an AU summit.

On Saturday South Sudan said it was cancelling planned face-to-face peace talks with Sudan after accusing Khartoum of launching a new air raid on its territory.

Sudan denied bombing its southern neighbour, saying it had only targeted Darfuri rebels inside its own territory.

"We were left with no choice but to suspend our direct bilateral talks with Sudan," front man Kiir said Saturday, adding: "You cannot sit with them to negotiate when they are bombing our territory."

"The only negotiations that will happen now will happen through the panel," he said, referring to an African Union mediation panel conducting the talks in the Æthiopian capital.

Britain
London on alert for terror attack ahead of Olympic Games
ISRAEL fears an Iranian terror squad in Europe are planning to attack their athletes during the London Olympics, according to reports.

Agents from Israel's elite intelligence organization, Mossad, are hunting Iranian-backed snuffies in Europe, who are allegedly planning an "anniversary" attack 40 years after the Munich massacre, Britannia's The Sunday Times reports.

The fears come as tensions rise over the International Olympic Committee refusal to commemorate the killing of 11 Israeli athletes and coaches by Paleostinian snuffies on September 5, 1972.

In preparation for an Olympic terror assault, panic rooms for VIPs and spectators have been set up beneath London's Olympic Stadium to protect them from being taken hostage or killed, according to The Sunday Times.

The paper also claims that if an attack occurred on the stadium, security forces would "invacuate" key people, rushing them to safety inside the attack zone.

An estimated 50,000 VIPs will attend the Games, including a reported 140 heads of state, 200 government ministers, 100 royals and 150 members of the International Olympic Committee.

A ring of steel has been set up to protect the Games, including snipers on the stadium roof and lighting towers and airborne radiation detecting equipment.

While M15 and Scotland Yard have reportedly raised the threat level against Israelis at the Games, Israel's security squad Shin Bet has also been sent to protect the country's 38 athletes living at the Athletes Village.

They allegedly believe Iran and Hezbollah, the cut-thoat Shi'ite Moslem group it arms and funds in Leb, plan to repeat the bloodshed of Black September.

The world watched in horror in 1972 when Paleostinian snuffies scaled the fences of the Athletes Village in Munich and killed two Israeli athletes and took another nine hostage.

After German forces bungled an ambush at the military airport, the snuffies shot the athletes and threw a grenade into their helicopter to ensure they were dead.

Accomplice Theory Gains Ground after Bulgaria Bomber Autopsy
[An Nahar] An autopsy on a jacket wallah who killed five Israeli tourists and a bus driver in Bulgaria show he was different from an "Arab-looking" suspect cited by witnesses, a doctor said on Sunday.

Galina Mileva, who was involved in the post-mortem examination, told BNT television on Sunday that the man "had a white face, light eyes, and very thick brown hair. The facial bones were shattered in the kaboom."

Bulgarian police along with the CIA, FBI and Interpol are struggling to identify the bomber who carried out Wednesday's attack at the Black Sea town of Burgas which also claimed the life of the Bulgarian bus driver.

Bulgaria's Pressa newspaper and the bTV channel said the bomber could have had an accomplice who detonated the explosives by cellphone.

A man and his wife who ran a car rental service earlier said they recognized the suspect who came to hire a vehicle. They said he had a wad of 500-euro bills and refused to rent him a car as his U.S. driving license appeared to be a fake.

Bourgas prosecutor Kalina Tchapkanova quoted witnesses as saying the man "spoke English with a slight accent" and appeared to be Arab.

The car rental service owner's wife Afrodita Petrova said she was sure he was of Arab origin and had a shaven head.

But Bourgas journalist Katia Kassabova from the besove.bg website which carried the first images of the attack said Sunday that "the bomber is not the man who tried to rent the car. He could be an accomplice.

"The man who died had blue eyes while the man spotted in the car rental agency had brown eyes," she said, adding that the bomber was 1.82 meters tall.

Israel has blamed Iran and Tehran's "terrorist proxy" Hizbullah for the bombing, saying it fitted a pattern of other recent attacks or attempted attacks on Israelis including in Thailand, India, Georgia, Kenya and Cyprus.

#2  History records it:

Grand Mufti Hdj Amin Al-Hussaini (1895-1974) was a member of one of the most powerful clans in Palestine. Yassir Arafat was one of his distant relatives; other Hussainis (e.g. Faisal Al-Hussaini) still play a role in Palestinian and Jordanian politics. The Mufti was well received by Hitler and he supported German efforts to raise SS-Legions from the Islamic populations of the Balkans and USSR.

India-Pakistan
Malik orders immediate arrest of coast guards killers
[Dawn] Senior Advisor to Prime Minister on Interior Rehman Malik
Pak politician, Interior Minister under the Gilani government. Malik is a former Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) intelligence officer who rose to head the FIA during Benazir Bhutto's second tenure. Malik was tossed from his FIA job in 1998 after documenting the breath-taking corruption of the Sharif family. By unhappy coincidence Nawaz Sharif became PM at just that moment and Malik moved to London one step ahead of the button men. He had to give up the interior ministry job because he held dual Brit citizenship.
Sunday ordered all law enforcement agencies to immediately arrest the myrmidons who had killed seven coasties attacking their camp in Gwadar.

The interior advisor has condemned the killing in Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
and ordered the authorities concerned to bring all culprits to justice without any delay.

Rehman Malik also directed the Director General Pakistain Coast Guards to review the security arrangements for the PCG officers and officials deputed in Gwadar and take steps for their foolproof security.

He also enquired about the details of the incident and suggested the compensation packages for the victims families in recognition of guards services and sacrifices.

The Balochistan Liberation Army has grabbed credit for the attack.

Afghanistan warns Pakistan over cross-border shelling
[Dawn] Afghanistan warned Pakistain Sunday that any further cross-border shelling could significantly harm relations, just days after the leaders of the two strife-torn neighbours met to talk peace.

More than 300 heavy artillery shells and rockets were fired from Pakistain into Dangam district of eastern Kunar province
... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country.....
on Friday and Saturday, killing at least four people, provincial front man Wasifullah Wasifi told AFP.

Last month, a barrage of cross-border fire from Pakistain into Kunar forced thousands of villagers to flee their homes, officials said, after Islamabad accused Kabul of giving safe haven to bully boyz who infiltrated to kill 13 Pak soldiers.

Afghanistan and Pakistain typically blame each other for violence by Talibs plaguing both sides of their mostly non-existent border.

Afghanistan's Deputy Foreign Minister Jawed Ludin on Sunday summoned Pakistain's ambassador in Kabul to discuss the latest barrage of periodic shelling across the Durand Line, a foreign ministry statement said.

"Any continuation of such reported shelling against Afghan villages could have a significant negative impact on bilateral relations," the statement quoted Ludin as telling ambassador Mohammad Sadiq.

Both sides agreed to hold a senior-level meeting of military officials soon in Afghanistan's eastern city of Jalalabad over the shelling and improve military coordination along the Durand Line, the statement said.

President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...
's office said the issue was raised in a meeting of the national security council on Sunday and security officials were instructed "to put into place all due actions necessary", without elaborating.

Pak Prime Minister Raja Pervez Ashraf, in response to a question at a joint news conference with Karzai on Thursday, said Pakistain was also attacked from Afghanistan and the issue had been raised in a meeting between the two leaders.

"Same like, from this side, from Kunar side, we get attacks on our armed forces, on our civilians.

"So we have discussed all these things, and now we have to do our utmost ... to control such happenings," Ashraf said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
IRGC rejects reports about death of Quds Force commander
[Iran Press TV] The Islamic Revolution Guards Corps (IRGC) has rejected media reports about the death of Commander of Iran's Quds Force Major General Qassem Soleimani in the recent kaboom in Syria's capital, Damascus.
...The City of Jasmin is the oldest continuously-inhabited city in the world. It has not always been inhabited by the same set of fascisti...

Head of the IRGC Public Relations Department Brigadier General Ramezan Sharif on Sunday accused the media that reported the bogus claim of serving Israel and attempting to influence the Mohammedans and Arabs' public opinion in order to weaken their support for the resistance and Islamic Awakening.

"Because of the recent events in Syria and Iran's support for Paleostine's resistance, some Arab media outlets have targeted Iran with their propaganda in a hostile and unethical manner," Sharif said.

"These media have spread many rumors about Iran including a claim about General Qassem Soleimani's presence in Syria and at the site of the recent bombing at Syria's National Security Bureau," he added.

U.N. Agency Fears for Palestinian Refugees in Syria
[An Nahar] UNRWA on Sunday expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
over the fate of some half a million Paleostinian refugees living in war-torn Syria, particularly those residing in the Yarmouk neighborhood of Damascus
...Capital of the last overtly fascist regime in the world...
.

"UNRWA views with increasingly grave concern the situation in Syria, particularly as regards the implications for the stability and protection of 500,000 Paleostine refugees across the country," the agency said.

"The current situation in the Damascus neighborhood of Yarmouk and in rural Damascus, home to both Syrian and Paleostinian communities, is especially worrying," it said, referring to a district which is home to more than 112,000 Paleostinians.

The United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA), which represents Paleostinian refugees, also raised fears over the safety of its staff and offices in Syria as well as its ability to get access to those affected by the conflict.

UNRWA urged all those engaged in the conflict to take steps "to preserve human life, to avoid forced displacement and to exercise the utmost restraint" while demonstrating "respect for the neutrality and integrity of U.N. installations" and places where refugees and other civilians live.

"UNRWA has appealed to the Syrian authorities to safeguard the security of Paleostine refugees wherever they reside in Syria," the agency said, indicating it would continue to monitor the situation as it evolves.

collapsed, the Kuwaiti al-Rai newspaper reported.

"It's not the intention of Hizbullah to acquire such weapons, and Syria isn't willing to export any for several reasons," a source close to Hizbullah told the daily.

According to the source, the resistance uses weapons according to its needs, positions, and effectiveness thus it doesn't need weapons that have slow motion and spreading effects.

'Syria is Calm,' Iran Foreign Minister Says
[An Nahar] The situation in Syria is "calm," requiring no repatriation of Iranian citizens there, Iranian Foreign Minister Ali Akbar Salehi said on Sunday, according to the official news agency IRNA.

"Syria is calm and Iranian nationals who are there have no problem and there is no need to conduct any special action" for them, Salehi was quoted as saying.

The minister's comments were made the same day a British-based monitoring group, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, said Syrian government troops used tanks to besiege an outlying district of Damascus
...Capital of the last remaining Baathist regime in the world...
, a week after heavy festivities first broke in the capital.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights also said there was combat in Syria's northern province of Aleppo
...For centuries, Aleppo was Greater Syria's largest city and the Ottoman Empire's third, after Constantinople and Cairo. Although relatively close to Damascus in distance, Aleppans regard Damascenes as country cousins...
, and four rebel fights were killed in Idlib, in the country's northwest.

At least 19,000 people have been killed in violence in Syria since the outbreak of an anti-regime revolt in March 2011, the Observatory said.

Assad Receives New Army Chief
[An Nahar] Syrian Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
on Sunday received his newly appointed army chief-of-staff General Ali Ayyoub, state television
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
reported.

"President Assad met chief-of-staff General Ali Ayyoub and gave him his instructions," the broadcaster reported.

Ayyoub replaces Fahd al-Freij, who was named defense minister after the death of Daoud Rajha in a blast that also killed three other senior regime members.

The attack, claimed by the rebel Free Syrian Army, also killed national security chief General Hisham Ikhtiyar, Assad's brother-in-law Assef Shawkat and General Hassan Turkmani, head of the regime's crisis cell on the uprising.
