Turban bombs violate Islamic values: Karzai
[Emirates 24/7] Afghanistan's Caped President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...
is calling on holy mans to speak out against a recent wave of turban bombs. These tactics violate Islamic values, his front man said Wednesday.

The call comes after attackers carried out two high-profile suicide kabooms last month by hiding explosives in their turbans, which are traditionally worn by many Afghan men and are symbolic of Islamic belief.

The first attack killed several people at a memorial service for Karzai's assassinated brother, Ahmed Wali Karzai, and the second the mayor of Kandahar, the biggest city in southern Afghanistan.

Following the attacks, Karzai met members of an influential holy manal council, the Ulema Shura, to urge them to speak out against this means of attack, his front man Hamid Elmi said.

"The Islamic fascisti have recently resorted to using the turban to hide suicide bombs. This act is against the values of Islam and Afghan traditions," Elmi said.

"The turban is a symbol of dignity and religion in Afghanistan. The president called on the Ulema to denounce this act of Islamic fascisti in the mosques and amongst the people."

The front man said Karzai also called on holy mans to condemn faceless myrmidons hiding bombs under the burqa, the garment worn by Afghan women to cover the head and the whole body.

A number of men wearing boom jackets under burqas have been nabbed in recent months.

The Taliban have been leading an insurgency against Karzai's government and Western forces in Afghanistan for nearly 10 years and suicide kabooms are one of their most deadly tactics.

Turkey’s Erdogan to visit Somalia
ANKARA: Turkey’s Prime Minister Tayyip Erdogan said on Wednesday he would visit famine-hit Somalia along with his family in the coming days as part of an effort to draw international attention to the East African country’s plight.

“It is impossible for us to be spectators to the human tragedy in Africa,” Erdogan said.

“My foreign minister and I will visit Somalia with our families. So, we will get a chance to see the situation there,” Erdogan told a meeting of the ruling Justice and Development Party (AKP) in Ankara.

The last leader to visit was Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni in November last year. His army contributes more than half of a 9,000-strong African Union peacekeeping force propping up the government. But no one from outside Africa has been for a very long time.

Istanbul will host a meeting on Aug. 17 of the 57-nation Organization of the Islamic Conference aimed at galvanising support for Somalia and drought-struck neighboring regions. The meeting, which comes during the Muslim fasting month of Ramadan, was proposed by Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu.

Turkey sent two cargo planes laden with 50 tons of food and medical supplies to Somalia on Monday and the Turkish Red Crescent is working with the government’s development agency and Office of Religious Affairs to raise donations from the public.

#1  Apparently Erdogan is attempting a "Turkey as a leader among Moslems" campaign. The question is whether he's playing it for Iran, Europe, the U.S., or Saudi Arabia.

#2  The question is whether he's playing it for Iran, Europe, the U.S., or Saudi Arabia.

Pappy, my sense is that he is playing for himself and the home audience. That's how he sees the world, and the improved Turkish economy and his party's control feed his pretentions. Never mind that in the old days he never would have been allowed beyond the bounds of his home village, Now he sees regional hegemony approaching. After all, Israel has felt his wrath, Assad the Younger has been scolded, the Palestinians loudly hope for a visit from the foreign minister, he is protecting brotherly Iran, and the generals just resigned. Thus the favour of Heaven is demonstrated.

Muslim states to discuss Somalia aid: OIC
[Pak Daily Times] The Organisation of Islamic Cooperation said Wednesday foreign ministers of member states will meet in Turkey next week to discuss aid to drought-and famine-hit Somalia.

The meeting in Istanbul on Tuesday follows a "call by Turkey to help the people of Somalia," said the largest pan-Islamic body, which is based in Soddy Arabia. Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu called last week on the 57-member OIC to meet to intervene in Somalia, the Turkish Anatolia news agency said.

Member states gathered in Istanbul last month to coordinate an emergency response to the devastating drought in Somalia. The OIC would start by distributing aid to some 40,000 people in the Afgooye corridor near Mogadishu under an agreement with the World Food Programme, Ihsanoglu said at the time.

The United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
last month officially declared famine in two areas of southern Somalia, as the world slowly mobilised to help 12 million people battling hunger in the region's worst drought in 60 years. Tens of thousands have died.

Parts of Kenya, Uganda, Ethiopia and Djibouti are also hit by the drought. Somalia's President Sheikh Sharif Ahmed promised on Wednesday to rid the country of the faceless myrmidons who are fighting to overthrow his administration and blocking food aid to millions of people facing starvation.

Ahmed was speaking four days after al-Shabaab
... Harakat ash-Shabaab al-Mujahidin aka the Mujahideen Youth Movement. It was originally the youth movement of the Islamic Courts, now pretty much all of what's left of it. They are aligned with al-Qaeda but operate more like the Afghan or Pakistani Taliban. The organization's current leader is Ibrahim Haji Jama Mee'aad, also known as Ibrahim al-Afghani. Fazul Abdullah Mohammed, a Kenyan al-Qaeda member, is considered the group's military leader...
pulled most of its forces out of the Somali capital amid signs of deepening rifts among its senior commanders. "As long as they are in Somali territory, even an inch, I will not rest," Ahmed told a news conference after meeting Tanzanian President Jakaya Kikwete in Dar es Salaam. "Our determination is to clear them out," he said.

Some regional allies have criticised Ahmed's failure to quash the insurgency and push through a new constitution designed to better spread political power among the country's powerful clans and regions.

Egypt government proposes anti-discrimination law
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] Egypt's government on Wednesday proposed an anti-discrimination amendment to its criminal code, mostly aimed at the troubled Christian minority which has been the target of sectarian attacks.

The bill, which the caretaker cabinet published a draft of on its Facebook page, would make discrimination a crime punishable by at least three months in prison, in addition to a fine.

It defines discrimination as "any action, or lack of action, that discriminates between people or against a sect due to gender, origin, language, religion or belief."

Women and minorities in Egypt complain of discrimination, but it is enshrined in the law regarding Coptic Christians, who are not allowed to build houses of worship without presidential permission.

The cabinet, which was appointed by the ruling military after a revolt ousted president Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
in February, has said it is studying another law to ease restrictions on church construction.

The military must approve any law before it goes into effect.

Disputes over building churches have contributed to sectarian festivities, which so far have killed at least 30 people in 2011.

3 dead could be missing family members

By Chris Covert

Three dead bodies found in an abandoned mine in far western Chihuahua could be members of the same family kidnapped at gunpoint in December 2009, according to Mexican press accounts.

Jose Alvarado Herrera, 30 and Nitza Paola Alvarado Espinoza, 31 were abducted from their residence in Buenaventura in Galeana municipality at around 2000 hrs December 29th, while Rocio Irene Alvarado Reyes, 18, was taken in a subsequent incident later that evening.

Three skeletal remains were found in Buenaventura in Galeana municipality late Tuesday night.

Reports at the time said that 10 men dressed as Mexican soldiers appeared at the residence of Alvarado Herrera and Alvarado Espinoza, forced them into trucks and drove them away. Details in the abduction of Alvarado Reyes are unknown, but it is known she left two minor children locked in the bathroom of her residence when she was taken.

The kidnapping case has international impact because family members after being rebuffed by local, state and military officials in trying to find their relatives, filed a case with a human rights group in Washington DC in March, 2010. The Inter-American Court of Human Rights ruled on the case in May, 2010.

The case was revived last June when the Mexican national attorney general's office offered a MP $3 million (USD $243,427.50) reward for information on the three victim's whereabouts.

Chihuahua state attorney's officers are awaiting DNA tests to determine the identity of the three bodies found.

Mexican press accounts earlier suggested the information on the location of the three bodies were provided by Jos Antonio Acosta Hernandez, AKA El Diego, but those reports were later found to be not true.

However, Acosta Hernandez does figure into the abduction because of an alleged nexus between then Chihuahua state attorney general Patricia Gonzalez and La Linea, the vicious armed wing of the Juarez drug cartel. Acosta Hernandez was the main enforcement operations chief for La Linea.

Gonzalez left her post after the change of government following the 2010 elections, and under a cloud of suspicion fostered by narcopintas, or graffiti left by criminal groups which suggested she was in the pay of the Juarez cartel.

Her brother, Chihuahua city private attorney Mario Gonzalez was kidnapped from his office in October, 2010, forced to record a confession video, then tortured, beaten and then shot to death and dumped in early November in a remote area near Chihuahua city.
To read the Rantburg report on the murder of Mario Gonzalez, click here.
In the confession video Mario Gonzalez mentioned commander of the Mexican 5th Military Zone General Jose de Jesus Espitia.

Mexican press reports around the time, and to this day of the abductions suggested that General de Jesus Espitia maintained ties with the Sinaloa cartel, while Gonzalez had alleged ties with the Juarez group. Reports said that Gonzalez and de Jesus Espitia had close ties and worked closely together.

Other reports, namely recently leaked US Department of State cables suggested there was little if any information sharing between the two offices. One online anonymous post in Blogger by an individual claiming to be a former subordinate said that General de Jesus Espitia made mistakes, but that he was not in the pay of anyone.

General de Jesus Espitia was relieved of command of the Mexican 5th Military Zone in July of 2010.

Mexican writers at the time accused General de Jesus Espitia of engaging in forced disappearances of individuals and of intimidation of private citizens including human rights workers.

In Mexican press reports and in international human rights reports it is generally assumed the Mexican Army was responsible for the abductions. Human rights groups often fail to distinguish between official army policy and the possibility of rogue elements within the military as well as possible connections between victims and drug gangs.

One report by the leftist Amnesty International said that on February 4th 2010 Nitza Paola Alvarado Espinoza telephoned a friend crying and begging to be released. Voice reportedly heard in the background suggested Nitza Paola Alvarado Espinoza was left alone long enough to make the call.

The local prosecutor in Galeana municipality took down the telephone number, but could not trace it, and eventually dropped the incident as part of the abduction case.

#8  "Mr Obama, ... thanked the Muslim community for their help in dealing with the September 11 tragedy, which caused nearly 3,000 deaths."

'Tragedy' did not 'cause' anything on 9/11/2001.

Islamofascists conducted a sneak attack on the US, treacherously abusing western hospitality. That attack went largely as planned, killing 3000 on American soil. The only 'tragic' turn of events for the Islamofascists was the passenger rebellion on UA 93.

Lessons learned since 9/11/2001:

Non-Muslim massacres scores of Non-Muslims in the name of opposition to Islam.
=> Must kowtow to Islam!

Muslims massacre thousands of Non-Muslims in the name of Islam.
=> Must kowtow to Islam!

Nothing particular happens.
=> Must kowtow to Islam!

#10  He might remember Muhammad's ramadan slaughter of his own tribals at Badr, which was supposedly won by "angels." After Badr, the muhammadans formally integrated the political and the quasi-religious. No give-unto-Caesar in that "abrahamic" plagiarist cult. Ramadan feasts - Eid Fitr/Adha - celebrate the extermination of "kafirs." And there are over 6,000,000,000 of us. The sight of US Presidents submitting to symbolic auto-Genocide is disgusting.

Yah, I saw the videos of US soldiers transporting symbolic "kafirs" (lambs for slaughter) to Afghan savages, for slow and painful death by bleeding. I hope you enjoyed your meal, Hussein Obama. Muhammad's 300,000,000 post Ramadan body count victims, weren't so lucky.

India-Pakistan
Osama bin Laden was 'protected by Pakistan in return for Saudi cash'
Raelynn Hillhouse, an American security analyst, claimed that bin Laden's whereabouts were finally revealed when a Pakistani intelligence officer came forward to claim the longstanding $25m bounty on the al-Qaeda leader's head.

Her version, based on evidence from sources in what she calls the "intelligence community", contradicts the official account that bin Laden was tracked down through surveillance of his trusted courier.
Good. Put lots of fiction stories out there like this. Keep people guessing.
Pakistani officials have always denied that bin Laden was sheltered in the country, or that Islamabad had any prior knowledge of the secret mission in which he was killed.

But Dr Hillhouse, who is known for her links to private military contractors that work extensively with the CIA, said that Pakistan gave permission for a covert mission which would then be covered up by a claim that bin Laden had been killed in a drone strike.

"The [Inter-Services Intelligence] officer came forward to claim the substantial reward and to broker US citizenship for his family," she writes on her intelligence blog, The Spy Who Billed Me.

ISI trained Ulfa
[Bangla Daily Star] Top leader of United Liberation Front of Asom (Ulfa) Sashadhar Choudhury has said Pakistain's ISI trained the bad turban outfit while individuals from various Bangladeshi agencies gave logistics support.

"Pakistain's ISI [Inter-Services Intelligence] trained Ulfa. In 1991, I was part of the first batch of Ulfa members to go to Pakistain for training in small arms including main battle rifles," Choudhury said in an interview to The Times of India published on Tuesday.

Choudhury, who joined the Ulfa in 1985, is now a member of the Ulfa delegation preparing to hold peace talks with the Indian government.

"I had a Bangladeshi national ID card issued by its army, and passports of several countries including Bangladesh, Myanmar, Fiji and South Africa," he said.

But when contacted, officials of the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) rejected the statement, saying the army did not issue any ID card to anybody as it does not have the authority to do so.

"Army only provided some technical support to a government project on national ID card. That doesn't mean that army men had issued the ID cards," an ISPR official told The Daily Star yesterday on condition of anonymity.

The Times of India quoted Sashadhar as saying that he had lived in Bangladesh with his wife and daughter for 12 years until his arrest in November 2009.

"I lived in Bangladesh as Rafiqul Islam. My wife Runima, a member of Ulfa's cultural wing, assumed the name Sabina Yasmin," said Choudhury, who lived in a rented house at Uttara Sector-3.

Choudhury and Runima got married in Bangladesh in 1997 and settled down. Their 10-year-old daughter studied in Dhaka's International Turkish Hope School.

Ulfa leaders, their wives and children assumed Islamic names and lived a life of disguise in Bangladesh until Sheikh Hasina-led government came to power in 2009, he added.

In 1992, he was chosen as Ulfa's "foreign secretary" by the outfit's general council.

"Soon after joining, we had trained with the Nagas of the undivided NSCN. In 1988, we were the second batch of Ulfa who went over to Kachin in Myanmar. We fought along with Kachin Independence Army (KIA) for two years and shared their guns," he said.

Later, as Ulfa's financial resources improved, it began buying weapons.

The Nationalist Socialist Council of Nagaland (NSCN) is a Naga nationalist hard boy group operating in northeast India. Its aim is to establish a Christian socialist state in the areas inhabited by the Naga people in northeast India and Burma.

The Ulfa leader said, "The Chinese sold Ulfa weapons, but indirectly. They are not fools to train gunnies or get directly involved."

The worst ordeal, Choudhury said, was during Operation Goldenbird in 1995, a joint anti-insurgent military offensive launched by India and Myanmar.

"I was the golden bird they were looking for. For nine days, I fought without food or water in the jungles of Myanmar's Chin which was an unknown terrain for us," he claimed.

But the Indian Army managed to capture him in northeastern Indian state of Mizoram.

"But they did not know they had caught Shashadhar Choudhury. For two-and-a-half months in army custody, they only asked me where is Shasha? But I managed to protect myself saying I was Sailen Choudhury," he said. Sailen Choudhury was an Ulfa member who had been killed in that operation.

Later, he was taken away from army custody, produced in a court and sent to jail. He struck a deal with then Assam government by offering to build bridges between Ulfa and the government in return for his release. But, soon after he was released, he obtained bail and decamped to Bhutan. "It was for survival," he said.

Ulfa received the worst blow during Royal Bhutan Army's operation "All clear" in 2003. A large number of its members were killed or went missing.

"After this, we shifted our headquarters to Bangladesh and then to Myanmar," he said.

PARESH BARUA REFUTES MEDIA REPORTS
Meanwhile,
...back at the argument, Jane reached into her purse for her .38...
Paresh Barua, Ulfa commander-in-chief, described as "not true" media reports quoting Ulfa Chairman Arabindo Rajkhowa as saying that his outfit procured weapons with the help of the Pakistain government and ISI.

"This allegation is completely baseless and such reports have been made with a purpose. It is nothing new that such malicious publicity is given to Ulfa but this time Chairman Rajkhowa has been quoted," Baruah said in an email to the media.

"We challenge those making such claims to prove with direct or indirect evidence that we took weapons and other help from Pak fundamentalists or ISI," he said.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Dozens of Saudis held in Syria
RIYADH: Saudi citizens have been arrested in Syria for no apparent reason, a human rights official has claimed in Riyadh.
Maybe the Saudis and Israelis could work together to deal with the Assad regime...
“There is no justification for the arrest of dozens of Saudis in various cities in Syria apart from the fact that they are Saudi citizens,” Chairman of the National Society for Human Rights (NSHR) Muflih Al-Qahtani told Al-Watan daily on Wednesday.

Al-Qahtani said the NSHR received a number of calls from the relatives of Saudis who were arrested while traveling in Syria.

“It is unfortunate that Syrian authorities arrest many Saudis because of their nationality. There are also reports of hostile treatment of Saudis and Gulf citizens,” he said. He, however, said the NSHR did not have the precise number of Saudis in Syrian jails.

The families of the imprisoned Saudis also do not know the locations of the jails where their relatives are being held. “Even the Saudi Embassy finds it hard to locate the detained people,” Al-Qahtani said.

NSHR has been keeping in touch with the Saudi Embassy in Damascus to obtain precise information about the jailed Saudi citizens.

“However, there are also unconfirmed reports that some of the arrested Saudis were facing criminal charges against them,” Al-Qahtani added. He said according to complaints received from affected families, the arrested citizens were not involved in any criminal acts and were incarcerated only because of their nationality.

Unable to supply clues about the whereabouts of their relatives to the NSHR, many families expressed worry over the fate of their relatives when they did not respond to phone calls, he said.

He called on Syrian authorities to either prosecute the arrested citizens or let them go free. He also demanded the authorities inform the Saudi Embassy of their locations.

PFLP-GC Accidentally Kidnapped the Seven Estonians
[An Nahar] The chief negotiator charged with ensuring the release of the seven Estonians cyclists revealed that they were accidentally kidnapped by the Popular Front for the Liberation of Paleostine -- General Command, he told Asharq newspaper in remarks published on Wednesday.

The negotiator, who chose not to disclose his name, said that the abductors were seeking to kidnap Americans, then Frenchies as a second choice, and English nationals as a third one.

He added that there is at least a second side, appointed by foreign sides, charged with conducting abductions, which have political and financial aims.

He said that three sides, not including Hizbullah, were suspected of being behind the kidnapping of the seven Estonians.

He added that after extensive investigations, it became evident that the PFLP-GC was behind the abduction, stating that the group's leader Ahmed Jibril openly confessed that it had kidnapped them.

He justified the abduction by saying that the cyclists were suspected of being Jewish, a matter which has been repeatedly denied, continued the negotiator.

He also refused to comment on whether a ransom was paid for their release.

"Leb has nothing to do with paying a ransom as the country whose nationals are kidnapped is obligated to do so," he said.

"A major plot is being concocted at Leb's expense as Americans, French and English nationals may be targets of kidnappings," he stated.

"Regardless of the purposes of the abductions, these matters will ruin Leb's reputation and create security chaos in the country," the negotiator noted.

"The instability will force the French or Syrians to say that they alone can control the situation in Leb, leading them to meddle in its internal affairs," he warned.

Furthermore, he revealed that Syria was aware of the transportation of the seven Estonians in and outside its country, but it did not interfere in the matter for its own reasons.

The seven Estonian cyclists were kidnapped in March and released some four months later.

They were held captive in Leb and Syria and the circumstances surrounding their release remain unknown.

Hizbullah Says March 14 Trying to Implicate U.N. in 'Rumors, Lies'
[An Nahar] Hizbullah said Wednesday that the March 14
Those are the good guys, insofar as Leb has good guys...
general-secretariat "has ignored the statement issued by the U.N., which denied accusing" the party of being involved in Syria's violence, noting that "this group did not settle for the fabrication of rumors and lies, but also tried to implicate the U.N. and its organizations in them."

"Hizbullah does not usually comment on the statements issued by the March 14 general-secretariat because the content is repetitive, well-known and boring," the party said in a communiqué.

"But what caught our attention in the latest statement issued on Wednesday, Aug. 10, 2011 was the clause 'the general-secretariat noted what the media has quoted the U.N. as saying, which points out to Hizbullah's role in the crackdown operations in Syria'," Hizbullah added.

"It seems that the general-secretariat of the March 14 forces is insisting on repeating this claim and deliberately attributing it to the U.N., which implies that this group did not settle for the fabrication of rumors and lies, but also tried to implicate the U.N. and its organizations in them," the party went on to say.

"Does this insistence mean that certain forces in the March 14 camp had provided Radio La Belle France with this report?" Hizbullah wondered.

In a statement issued earlier on Wednesday, the March 14 general-secretariat said the media reports proved "that the party has abandoned the principles that it claims to respect."

"It is jeopardizing the entire sect it represents because it is linking it to the ongoing massacres against the Syrian people," the general-secretariat noted.

Hizbullah's Al-Manar television on Tuesday said a statement allegedly issued by the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) had refuted Radio La Belle France's report.

However,
nothing needs reforming like other people's bad habits...
in remarks published Wednesday, Kuwaiti daily Al-Anbaa quoted diplomatic sources in the U.N. as saying that "the U.N. Security Council is preparing a report on Hizbullah's participation in the repression and torture of Syrian civilians and protesters and the killing of Syrian soldiers who had defected over such acts."

"The report will be rich in details and evidences and it will include photographs and the testimonies of dissident Syrian officers and soldiers," the sources added.

On Sunday Hizbullah denied Radio La Belle France's report, which accused the party of being involved in the killing of Syrian soldiers who had refused to shoot at anti-regime protesters.

Radio La Belle France had reported that a UNHCR committee was planning to release a report on the alleged involvement of Hizbullah and Iran in the killing of Syrian soldiers who had refused to obey orders to shoot at protesters.

Aoun to Lebanese: If You Want Electricity then You Should Occupy Parliament
[An Nahar] Free Patriotic Movement
Despite its name a Christian party allied with Hizbullah, neither free nor particularly patriotic...
leader MP Michel Aoun
...a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
accused on Wednesday the government of shortcomings in performing its duties, saying that its "lapses of consciousness are unacceptable."

He said: "The MPs, administrations, and security apparatuses are conspiring with each other and the Justice Minister is obligated to tackle this matter."

"Some ministers have grown accustomed to politicizing state services, which is unacceptable," he declared.

Aoun then called on the Lebanese to occupy parliament "if you want electricity and I will support you."

"We are ready to create a dispute with whomever we want because we have a strong support base and we don't derive our power from any foreign country," he stressed.

"A total of $12,000 a minute have been lost because of MPs' failure to approve the electricity draft law," he said.

He defended Energy Minister Jebran Bassil who proposed the law, saying that he is seeking to employ them for the country's interests.

"A thief is not allowed to talk about transparency and we have their files on exploiting funds," Aoun warned.

Parliament failed to approve on Wednesday a draft law on electricity that was suggested by Aoun.

The draft law allows Bassil to receive $1,200,000,000 to implement a project on producing 700 Megawatts of electricity.

"Parliament is facing a test of either lighting Leb or leaving it in the dark," he told As Safir newspaper, adding "there is no reason for any team to oppose it."

But March 14
Those are the good guys, insofar as Leb has good guys...
-led opposition sources stressed to An Nahar that the draft law gives Bassil the freedom to use the amount of money without referring to the cabinet or without any monitoring by the Audit Bureau.

Hizbullah, al-Jamaa al-Islamiya Confirm 'Resistance's Role in Fortifying Nation'
[An Nahar] Head of Hizbullah's politburo Ibrahim Amine al-Sayyed held talks on Wednesday with a delegation from al-Jamaa al-Islamiya headed by Azzam al-Ayoubi, the National News Agency reported.

The conferees stressed on "the resistance's role in fortifying the future of the nation and in protecting our nations from offensive threats."

Hizbullah's media department said in a statement that they discussed the Lebanese local affairs and the regional developments.

The two sides urged officials to be responsible during this critical stage.

They congratulated the Islamic and Arab world for Ramadan, asking God to "stabilize, fortify and unite these countries against those who want to bring chaos to our region in order to benefit the Zionist entity."

Ahmadinejad: Britain Crackdown Unacceptable
[An Nahar] Iran's diminutive President Mahmoud Short Round Ahmadinejad on Wednesday strongly condemned what he called the "savage" crackdown by British police on rampaging youths, the state television's
... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
website reported.

"This savage treatment of people is absolutely unacceptable, and British statesmen must hear the voice of the people and grant them freedoms," Ahmadinejad was quoted as saying.

"British politicians should look to help their own people instead of invading Afghanistan, Iraq and Libya to plunder their oil."

Ahmadinejad said part of the British public has "lost its patience and become frustrated," and urged London to "get on the people's side and change their management, instead of using such approaches."

He criticized the U.N. Security Council for remaining "silent" over the developments in Britannia, which is experiencing its worst unrest in decades.

Riots raged into a fifth day on Wednesday as youths ran amok in Manchester and the industrial Midlands, but London was quiet after British Prime Minister David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
boosted the police presence in the capital to 16,000.

Scotland Yard said early on Wednesday that 768 people had been jugged and 111 coppers have been injured in the disorder.

"Even if one hundredth of these crimes were to happen in countries opposed to the West, the United Nations
...a formerly good idea gone bad...
and other organizations claiming to defend human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
would vehemently decry it," Ahmadinejad added.

"The stage has now been set for testing the U.N. Security Council to see whether it will condemn one of its own permanent members," he added.

Looters have caused mayhem including in Britannia's second largest city Birmingham, where three Asian men died early on Wednesday after being hit by a car.

Reports said they had just left a mosque and were protecting their neighborhood in the central city.

#1  poll is by the AbuDhabi Gallup center

if they have a statistically significant and unbiased sample of American Muslims, they would probably have to interview about 100,000 people in total and you would have to do it in a way that prevents the interviewee from knowing the who paid for the interview

most Muslims interviewed by the AbuDhabi Gallap poll would try to discern how they are supposed to answer and then answer that way

#2  would have never guessed that! even considering we feed those mongrels before we feed our own ppl. Then get stepped on again after we pay out the ass for their oil.Maybe they'll drop that fucker out of a helo in a muslim country after he is through ruining the country.
