Differences Arise Over Meaning of 'National Unity Government'
[Tolo News] U.S. Secretary of State John F. I was in Vietnam, you know Kerry
Former Senator-for-Life from Massachussetts, self-defined war hero, speaker of French, owner of a lucky hat, conqueror of Cambodia, and current Secretary of State...
's trip to Kabul to mediate talks between the two presidential candidates ended the election deadlock. After all, one of the agreements made between the two presidential hopefuls is that a national unity government would be formed between them no matter who wins the election. However,
ars longa, vita brevis...
just a day removed from the talks, there already appears to be some disagreement over what exactly a "national unity government" means.

Abdullah Abdullah
... the former foreign minister of the Northern Alliance government, advisor to Masood, and candidate for president against Karzai. Dr. Abdullah was born in Kabul and is half Tadjik and half Pashtun...
's campaign team has said that a national unity government means a shared government where both candidates will have a prominent role.

"National unity government can be called shared government, our campaign team will never want the creation of a coalition government, but we will accept shared government," Abdullah's campaign front man Said Fazel Agha Sancharaki said. He did not go into any detail as to what are the exact distinctions between a "coalition government" and a "shared government".

In response, Ashraf Ghani-Ahmadzai's campaign team has said that the national unity government means that the losing candidates will participate legally in the framework of the future government.

"The candidate who has not received the majority of votes can participate in the upcoming government through legal ways," explained Azita Refat, the front man for Ghani-Ahmadzai's team.

Sources close to the negotiations that took place over the course of Friday and Saturday, and have been heralded as successfully ending the election crisis, have said that the audit of votes that the candidates agreed to will surely result in the victory of one candidate over the other, and that the losing candidate will have a role in the next government, likely in the executive branch. However that has not yet been officialy confirmed.

Meanwhile,
...back at the pond, Gloria slowly backed away from the eight-foot bull frog. If the creature croaked she would surely be deafened...
legal analysts have said that the creation of a national unity government does in fact amount to a coalition government.

"I think we have had national unity before, I do not see any difference between a coalition government and what the candidates have called a national unity government," legal analyst Nasrullah Stanekzai told TOLOnews. "If they had used the term, 'Creation of government for National Unity Consolidation' instead of 'Creation of National Unity Government', it would have been better," he added.

Despite the apparent differences in interpretation of the terms of their agreement regarding power-sharing after the election, it is indisputable that the negotiations this weekend, is no small part thanks to the presence of Mr. Kerry, moved the process forward, and hopefully for the better.

Tunisians slam ISIL militants' crimes in Iraq, Syria
[Iran Press TV] Protesters have taken to the streets in the Tunisian capital, Tunis, to denounce atrocities committed by the Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
ISIL holy warriors in Iraq and Syria, Press TV reports.

The demonstrators, including families of youths who have joined the ISIL terrorists, expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
over the return of holy warriors to Tunisia after committing acts of violence along with the ISIL Takfiris abroad.

"The ISIL is killing innocent people at cafes. I saw dead bodies ... targeted by boom-mobiles. Terrorists plant bombs everywhere to scare people. They blow up Moslem shrines and kill worshippers," a protester told Press TV.
The demonstrators also blamed some local groups for recruiting Lions of Islam for the ISIL.

"Some associations are as dangerous as the ISIL and other Lion of Islam groups. They are sending Tunisian youth to Syria," said Walid Zarrouk from Tunisia's Republican Security Syndicate.
Earlier this year, Tunisian Interior Minister Lotfi Ben Jeddou said around 400 Takfiri holy warriors from Tunisia have returned to their homeland after fighting alongside the foreign-backed holy warriors in Syria. The announcement sparked fears that the holy warriors could trigger violence in the country.

"We have managed to prevent nearly 8,000 people from going to Syria," he added.

Egypt's calls for end to Gaza assault met with Israel's 'stubbornness'
[Al Ahram] Egyptian Prime Minister Ibrahim Mahlab said late Saturday that "extensive calls" made by Egypt for an end to the aggression on Gazoo are being met with "stubbornness and escalation" by Israel.

Mahlab's comments came during a press statement in Upper Egypt's Luxor where he also affirmed Egypt's full rejection towards what "our brothers in the [Gazoo] Strip are being subjected to."

He added that Egypt "will continue to present sacrifices for the Paleostinian cause, which is surely the primary cause for Arabs."

More than 165 people have been killed since Tuesday when Israel launched Operation Protective Edge against the besieged Paleostinian strip.

Israeli officials announced Saturday that Gazoo murderous Moslems have fired approximately 525 mortar rounds and rockets that struck Israel, while another 138 rockets were intercepted by the Iron Dome missile defence system, reported AFP.
Keep shooting 'em off, guys. The more you use now, the less you'll have for later, now that Egypt has the tunnels interdicted.

Europe
Clashes in Paris as thousands march against Israel offensive
[NEWS.YAHOO] Clashes erupted in Gay Paree on Sunday as thousands of people protested against Israel and in support of residents in the Gazoo Strip, where a six-day conflict has left 168 Paleostinians dead.

Several thousand demonstrators walked calmly through the streets of Gay Paree behind a large banner that read "Total Support for the Struggle of the Paleostinian People".

But festivities erupted at the end of the march on Bastille Square, with people throwing projectiles onto a cordon of police who responded with tear gas.

The unrest continued early Sunday evening as police announced six arrests had been made.

A small group tired to break into two synagogues in central Gay Paree, a police source told AFP.

Riot police dispersed the group, with two members of the Jewish community and six officers slightly injured in the ensuing scuffle, the source said.

Prime Minister Manuel Valls condemned the attempted synagogue stormings "in the strongest possible terms".

"Such acts targeting places of worship are unacceptable," he said in a statement.

Giving Turkey a dose of its own medicine?
An Israeli NGO has assisted Cypriots in filing a war crimes complaint with the International Criminal Court prosecutor against Turkey over its occupation of Northern Cyprus. The complaint, filed on Tuesday and referred to as a communication, was made on the 40th anniversary of Turkey’s occupation of the northern part of Cyprus.

The NGO, Shurat HaDin-Israel Law Center, has been involved in a wide range of human-rights cases and substantially assisted in researching and drafting the complaint on behalf of Greek Cypriot groups, including Cypriots Against Turkish War Crimes (CATWR) and MEP Costas Mavrides.

ISIS inspiring Pakistani militants, says expert
[Iraq Sun] The ISIS in Iraq is influencing Pak Lion of Islams, with at least one group declaring allegiance to the bully boys, a Pak security analyst has said.

Muhammad Amir Rana said in Dawn Sunday that the Pak Lion of Islam group Tehrik-e-Khilafat's declaration of allegiance to the Islamic State of Iraq and al-Sham (ISIS) "has surprised many".

The ISIS, now calling itself the Islamic State, is now in control of vast areas of Iraq.

This "does indicate that ISIS has started to inspire some individuals and groups in Pakistain with similar objectives", Rana said.

He said that like the Afghan Taliban of the 1990s, today "ISIS is attracting Islamist Death Eaters and financial resources in an almost similar way.

"As Pak Death Eaters and religious organizations do not operate in isolation, it is natural for them to draw inspiration from ISIS."

Rana said the ideological association and operational linkage between the Pak Death Eaters and ISIS were not new.

"Pak Death Eaters were part of the group from its inception. Many Death Eaters from Lashkar-e-Jhangvi
... a 'more violent' offshoot of Sipah-e-Sahaba Pakistain. LeJ's purpose in life is to murder anyone who's not of utmost religious purity, starting with Shiites but including Brelvis, Ahmadis, Christians, Jews, Buddhists, Rosicrucians, and just about anyone else you can think of. They are currently a wholly-owned subsidiary of al-Qaeda ...
's (Lej) Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
and Punjab factions constitute the best fighting force of ISIS.

"It was LeJ Death Eaters who set up the Ghazi Abdul Rasheed training camp in the Iraqi city of Arbil in 2013. The Death Eaters trained in the camp constituted the Ghazi Force."

Rana warned that once Pak Death Eaters fighting in Syria and Iraq return to Pakistain, they will add to the sectarian violence.

"As Pak Death Eaters do not operate in isolation, it is natural for them to draw inspiration from ISIS."

According to him, the Tehrik-e-Khilafat is said to be a TTP affiliate in Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
. It has an online presence and has grabbed credit for some attacks on police and the Rangers in Karachi.

Two witnesses testify in Benazir murder case
[DAWN] Two prosecution witnesses in Benazir Bhutto
... 11th Prime Minister of Pakistain in two non-consecutive terms from 1988 until 1990 and 1993 until 1996. She was the daughter of Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, founder of the Pakistain People's Party, who was murdered at the instigation of General Ayub Khan. She was murdered in her turn by person or persons unknown while campaigning in late 2007. murder case testified before an anti-terrorism court in Rawalpindi on Saturday.

Magistrates Ahmed Masood Janjua and Taufiq Chaudhry testified that they had recorded the confessional statements of Rafaqat Hussain, Husnain Gul, Aitzaz Shah and Abdul Rashid for their alleged involvement in the murder case.

Magistrate Janjua informed the court that he had recorded the statement of Abdul Rashid who confessed to knowing and participating in the conspiracy to kill Ms Bhutto.

Magistrate Chaudhry added that in their confessional statements Hussain and Gul had confessed to abetting suicide kaboomer Bilal who went kaboom! near the vehicle of Ms Bhutto. In the confessional statement, both the accused stated that they kept Bilal in a house near Liaquat Bagh where Ms Bhutto was assassinated on December 27, 2007.

Regarding the confessional statement of Aitzaz Shah, magistrate Chaudhry said the accused had admitted his involvement in the conspiracy to murder Ms Bhutto.

Shah, according to the statement, was ready for the suicide attack on Ms Bhutto but at the eleventh hour he was told that Bilal had been tasked with attacking the PPP leader.

So far, 19 prosecution witnesses have been examined in the case.

The court adjourned further proceedings till July 19 when four more prosecution witnesses will testify.

PPP at odds with Gilani over Musharraf's trial
[DAWN] The PPP distanced itself from former prime minister Yousuf Raza Gilani
... Pakistain's former prime minister, whose occasional feats of mental gymnastics could be awe-inspiring ...
's opposition to a trial of former president retired Gen Pervez Perv Musharraf
... former dictator of Pakistain, who was less dictatorial and corrupt than any Pak civilian government to date ...
, declaring it was in favour of his trial under Article 6.

"Gen Musharraf is himself responsible for the situation he is facing today. When he had himself decided to end the understanding and return to the country despite opposition by the military as well, he will now have to face the trial (under Article 6)," Qamar Zaman Kaira, the information secretary, told Dawn on Saturday.

Mr Gilani kicked up a controversy on Friday after he said that talks held with the establishment in 2008 had led to the understanding about Gen Musharraf's resignation and going abroad. Mr Gilani claimed that the PML-N was also part of the negotiations held with the establishment to persuade Gen Musharraf to step down instead of facing impeachment proceedings.

'Long march' will overcome all hurdles: PTI
[DAWN] Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) Punjab President Ejaz Chaudhry said the party's Aug 14 'long march' will overcome all hurdles allegedly being created by the PML-N government.

Speaking at a ceremony to distribute notifications to office-bearers of the PTI Minority Wing Punjab on Saturday, Chaudhry said PTI workers were determined and over a million of them would march on Islamabad.

Stating that holding a peaceful protest was their constitutional right, he claimed a minister had said the government would organise a function at D-Chowk.

Chaudhry said the PML-N government had not learnt its lesson from the Model Town incident. He said a first information report would be lodged against the government, impartial inquiries conducted and those responsible brought to book.

Chaudhry acknowledged PTI Minority Wing Punjab President Shunila Ruth's assertion that 50,000 minority members would participate in the march. He also presented a resolution condemning Israeli attacks on unarmed Paleostinians and demanded the world community, United Nations

Imran summons PTI core committee to review long march strategy
[DAWN] Chairman Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf

(PTI) Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who isn't your heaviest-duty thinker, maybe not even among the top five...
on Sunday summoned a meeting of the PTI core committee for July 15.

Speaking to Dawn.com, MNA and Central Senior PTI Vice President Asad Umar said the core committee will discuss the overall political situation in the country including the issue of IDP's.

Asad said that the PTI chief had already demanded of the government to allow international NGO's to start their work for the relief and rehabilitation of IDP's in Bannu.

This is due to the difficulty being faced by the provincial government to manage around 0.8 million North Wazoo IDP's which have resulted from the military operation.

The PTI leader said that the party leadership will review the strategy regarding the August 14 long march in detail.

ISIL Israel's stooge against Mulsims: Iran Official
[Iran Press TV] The Takfiri
...an adherent of takfir wal hijra, an offshoot of Salafism that regards everybody who doesn't agree with them as apostates who most be killed...
ISIL bully boyz are puppets of the Zionist regime to carry out its dictates against Mohammedans in the region, a senior Iranian official says.

If the ISIL cult had been a revolutionary group and a defender of Sunni Mohammedans as it claims to be, it would have now used its power, weapons and money alongside Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason, and the Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Muslim Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
and other Paleostinian resistance movements, Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Iran's deputy foreign minister for Arab and African affairs, said on Sunday.

The terrorist group, however, has declared that it would not do anything to support the Sunni Paleostinians oppressed by the Tel Aviv regime, Amir-Abdollahian added.

"The brutal attacks of the Zionist regime against the Paleostinian people in Gazoo and the West Bank and the indifference of self-proclaimed advocacy groups and ISIL proved that they are enforcers of the policies dictated by Tel Aviv and apply their power and arms only against Mohammedans and the strength of the Islamic states," he said.

Iraq: Parliament fails to break deadlock over split of political roles between Shia, Sunni and Kurds
[INDEPENDENT.CO.UK] Iraq's parliament failed on Sunday to break a damaging political deadlock, which is holding up the formation of a new government to tackle the holy warrior insurgency led by Isis.

After a brief session, parliamentary officials delayed until Tuesday their efforts to reach agreement between the country's Shia, Sunni and Kurdish politicians on the posts of Prime Minister, President and parliamentary Speaker.

The political impasse has been given added urgency after Isis swept through Sunni provinces of northern Iraq last month and was only stemmed within 100 miles of the capital, Baghdad. The Prime Minister, Nuori al-Maliki, whose State of Law coalition is the largest individual list in parliament, is seeking a third term but faces opposition from Sunnis and Kurds who say he has ruled for the Shia majority at the expense of minority communities. Even rival Shia parties want to unseat Mr Maliki. The fall of northern Sunni cities has encouraged the Prime Minister's opponents to try to force his departure.

American activists: Israel has occupied both US and Palestine
[Iran Press TV] A US rights activist says the American and Paleostinian nations have something in common: both are occupied by Israel.

Paul Larudee, the co-founder of Free Paleostine Movement, made the remarks in an interview with Press TV as 15 cities across the United States witnessed anti-Israeli protests. The demonstrators denounced Tel Aviv for carrying out deadly attacks against the residents of the besieged Gazoo Strip.

"First of all the voice of the people in the United States makes very little difference. The people of the United States and the people of Paleostine have something in common but that does not mean that they can act together," Larudee said.

"What they have in common is that both people are occupied by Israel."

He went on to add that Israel has occupied the United States in a different way.

Israel has "occupied the US government. It determines who gets elected and who does not. So the US government is in the hands of Israel," he added.

"There is not a lot we can do without a major revolution and I don't see that happening very soon."

More Palestinian children taken to hospitals
[Iran Press TV] More Palestinian children have been taken to hospitals in the besieged Gaza Strip as the Israeli regime continues its offensive in the enclave, Press TV reports.

According to the report on Sunday, many Gazan children and teenagers, injured by Israeli attacks, were transferred to al-Shifa hospital in the blockaded territory.

The report also said that many children have been killed during the Israeli aggression in the besieged coastal sliver.

Medical sources in the hospital told Press TV that bombs used against Palestinians are internationally banned.

Dr. Erik Fosse, a Norwegian doctor in the besieged Gaza Strip, has told Press TV that about thirty percent of patients hospitalized in Gaza are children, adding that some Palestinian in the besieged enclave have been wounded by a new type of weapon that even doctors with previous experience in war zones do not recognize.

Saudi Ambassador Says Duroy Hotel Suicide Bomber Buried in Saudi Arabia, Accomplice in 'Good Health'
[An Nahar] Saudi Ambassador to Leb Ali Awadh Asiri revealed on Sunday that the body of the Duroy Hotel bomber was buried in al-Qassim Province in the kingdom, while his accomplice is "in good health."

"The body of Ali Ibrahim al-Thwaini was handed over to his family in al-Qassim province (in Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
) where he was buried on Friday," Asiri said in comments published in the Saudi daily Okaz.

The diplomat confirmed that al-Thwaini's accomplice, Abdul Rahman al-Shenifi, who was detained by Lebanese security agencies, is "in good health."

"The embassy is following up his health conditions and the trial process," Asiri said.

In June, Saudi jacket wallah al-Thwaini detonated his explosives at his room in the Duroy Hotel in Raouche during a raid by General Security officers.

His accomplice al-Shenifi, who was also in the room, survived the blast but was severely injured. A third person is on the run.

The suicide kaboom was the third in Leb in less than a week and sparked fears of renewed violence in a country that has been deeply affected by the civil war in neighboring Syria.
