[FoxNews] '13 Hours at Benghazi': Bret Baier Hosts New Documentary 2 Years After Attack

#1  Should be interesting, though it may lead to apoplexy at the White House

May or may NOT lead to apoplexy.

Three "former Klingon contractors" mysteriously surface at 'Fox News' two years following Benghazi event with new book. Contractors 'key on' 30 minute delay ordered by "BOB." Book to be released approx one year prior to run-up to presidential race. Book and carefully scripted comments obviously reviewed for release by the Klingons.

"Apoplexy" very well may be experienced, but not by the Champ, but rather the intended target, the Hildebeest. Timing is everything.

Afghanistan
Afghans expect NATO to revise strategy
[Iran Press TV] As the US plans to leave about 10,000 soldiers in Afghanistan after the 2014 withdrawal deadline, people in Afghanistan hope that the US-led NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
will not repeat its past war mistakes, Press TV reports.

The Western military alliance's planned withdrawal from Afghanistan is one of the issues on the agenda of a two-day NATO summit underway in the Welsh city of Newport.

Washington has repeatedly threatened the Afghan government that it would pull all its troops out of Afghanistan if the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) between the two countries is not signed, claiming that the troops' mission is to train Afghan forces.

"The US and NATO did not do anything for the people of Afghanistan, they only kept supporting the corrupt officials who pocketed billions of aid money," a Kabul citizen told Press TV.

The US and Afghanistan are still at odds on some of the terms of the agreement, including immunity for American troops and their attacks on Afghan villages and homes whish have so far killed many people across the country.

"The US and NATO have not fully supported our forces. Afghan forces and police still do not have better weapons than the Taliban, so we call on NATO in Wales to fully support our forces," the Afghan citizen added.

Outgoing President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
... A former Baltimore restaurateur, now 12th and current President of Afghanistan, displacing the legitimate president Rabbani in December 2004. He was installed as the dominant political figure after the removal of the Taliban regime in late 2001 in a vain attempt to put a Pashtun face on the successor state to the Taliban. After the 2004 presidential election, he was declared president regardless of what the actual vote count was. He won a second, even more dubious, five-year-term after the 2009 presidential election. His grip on reality has been slipping steadily since around 2007, probably from heavy drug use...
has refused to sign the BSA, saying he would prefer that his successor to be the one to sign the accord.

NATO Says Financial Support Contingent on BSA
[Tolo News] NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Originally it was a mutual defense pact directed against an expansionist Soviet Union. In later years it evolved into a mechanism for picking the American pocket while criticizing the cut of the American pants...
Secretary Gen. AndersFogh Rasmussen said that the continuation of international financial aid for the Afghan National Security Forces (ANSF) could depend on the presence of foreign troops in Afghanistan after 2014, which, in turn, depends on whether or not the Bilateral Security Agreement (BSA) with Washington is signed.

Rasmussen's comments came in an exclusive interview with TOLOnews, which took place in Wales, Britannia, at the start of a two-day NATO summit. The western military alliance's combat mission in Afghanistan will end in December, and its top leaders have said any continued support for the Afghan forces is contingent on relations between Afghanistan and the United States.

"International financing of the ANSF will be closely linked to a continued international presence in Afghanistan," said Rasmussen. "I am concerned that if we are not able to deploy a training mission after 2014 that might also put the international financing of the ANSF in jeopardy."

Bismillah Mohammadi, the Minister of Defense, is representing Afghanistan at the NATO summit instead of the new Afghan president, as the election process remains ongoing. Last month, there was some hope a winning candidate would emerge by the time the summit began, which could allow the BSA to be finalized and give NATO leaders the solid footing they need to discuss plans for post-2014 Afghanistan. Both candidates have promised to sign the agreement, despite current President Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai

But Rasmussen, like other international military and civil leaders have, expressed concern
...meaning the brow was mildly wrinkled, the eyebrows drawn slightly together, and a thoughtful expression assumed, not that anything was actually done or indeed that any thought was actually expended...
s about the ongoing election, which has seen its share of ups and downs over the long five month haul it has taken. "I am very concerned about the protracted presidential electoral process and I urge both candidates to do their utmost to ensure the completion of the presidential electoral process."

The NATO General reaffirmed the international community's commitment to Afghanistan, but said ultimately implementation would depend on the will of Afghans.

This year's election process, which began by being celebrated by Afghans around the country who turned out in record numbers to vote, has gradually become a subject of great anxiety and despair. The election is often blamed for the worsening security and economic situation the country has seen over the past couple months.

Everyday Afghans, like leaders of the international community, have called on the candidates to overcome their differences for the sake of stability.

Said Agha, a resident of Kabul, said he hoped the candidates would ultimately act in the people's best interests. "My request for both of the candidates is that they set aside their disagreements and think of the people and their worsening condition."

Top CIA officer in Benghazi delayed response to terrorist attack
Posted by: DarthVader || 09/05/2014 00:00 || Comments || Link || [1 views] Top|| File under:

#1  In a statement to Fox News, a senior intelligence official did allow that the security team was delayed from responding while the CIA’s top officer in Benghazi tried to rally local support.

Rubbish! Of course "local support" was not part of the contingency response or Quick Reaction Force (QRF) go-to-hell plan once contact began. Those fok's [local militia] had already screwed the pooch. No sane person would have recommended waiting on locals to locate and free an AMBO, unless of course.... told to do so by 'Main' or someone at Foggy Bottom.

Imagine if you will a Chief of Post/Station saying....... yea, I thought we'd sit back on monitor developments, let the local militia have a go at it.

No need for contractors to step in? No need for 'Tier One SOF' who were already saddled up and only a few hours away? Total bullshi*.

Operation Dignity claims Tripoli counter-offensive is mounting
[Libya Herald] Tobruk-based Operation Dignity has claimed it is preparing an offensive in Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
as its partners in the west of the country gather forces in Zintan.

The Commander of Dignity's Air Force, Adam Saqr Geroushi, told the Libya Herald that Dignity was working in collaboration with the Zintanis who were pushed out of Tripoli last month following six weeks of fighting with the Misratan-led forces of Operation Libya Dawn
...aka Fajr Libya, the Islamist operation launched to counter that of General Khalifa Haftar (Operation Dignity). It is made up of the Libya Shield militia (Misrata and Moslem Brotherhood), Libya Revolutionaries Operations Room (Moslem Brotherhood), and Tripoli Brigade (close to bdul Hakim Belhaj, head of Al-Watan party). Financing and moral support come from Turkey and Qatar...
.

Geroushi said the Zintanis and their allies were marshalling their strength ahead of a push back into the capital. He did not say when the counter-offensive would begin.

Geroushi explained that Operation Dignity would be providing air support during the campaign, bombing positions held by Libya Dawn on the outskirts of Tripoli. He said Dignity had begun its bombing campaign over the capital, a reference to Arclight airstrikes made last month and now widely claimed to have been carried out by Emirati warplanes.

It is alleged that the UAE, which possesses one of the most formidable air forces within the region, provided the necessary aircraft and pilots with Egypt offering its bases for the bombings.

The UAE has not commented on the two attacks while Egypt has flatly denied any involvement, even accusing US officials who commented on the bombings of lying and of trying to drag Egypt into the Libyan crisis.

Despite the controversy, Operation Dignity grabbed credit for the attacks when they were first made, although they do not have the capacity to carry out the long-range air assault themselves.

Britain
Cameron Cites No-Ransom Pledge at NATO as Hostage Held
[BUSINESSWEEK] U.K. Prime Minister David Cameron
... has stated that he is certainly a big Thatcher fan, but I don't know whether that makes me a Thatcherite, which means he's not. Since he is not deeply ideological he lacks core principles and is easily led. He has been described as certainly not a Pitt, Elder or Younger, but he does wear a nice suit so maybe he's Beau Brummel ...
will urge the leaders of La Belle France, Germany and Italia to be "good to their word" and refrain from paying ransoms as a British hostage faces death at the hands of Islamist bad boys.

Cameron said he will use a dinner at the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
summit in Wales tonight to remind the three European allies of the pledge by their leaders at last year's Group of Eight summit not to facilitate ransom payments.

"There is no doubt in my mind that the many tens of millions of dollars that ISIL has raised from ransom payments is going into promoting terrorism," Cameron told politicians in the House of Commons in London yesterday, referring to the Lions of Islam holding Briton David Haines. The G-8 agreed not to pay ransoms and "Britannia continues with this policy, America continues with this policy, but we need to redouble the efforts to make sure that other countries are good to their word."

100s hold anti-NATO rally in Newport, Wales
[Iran Press TV] Hundreds of anti-war activists have held a demonstration in Newport to protest against the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
summit being held in the Welsh city.
Hundreds? Golly.
The protesters on Thursday marched from the center of the city to Celtic Manor Hotel, which is the main venue for the two-day summit.

Among the protesters were members of the Socialist Party, Socialist Workers Party, Stop the War Coalition parties as well as pro-Paleostinian groups.

"Too much money is being spent on arms and not enough on the health service," said Dai John, a worker for the UK's National Health Service who took part in the protest.

"I cannot see that NATO is protecting people. NATO is killing people. NATO is engaged in war, it is doing war. They are sending drones, they are sending fighters," said Reiner Braun, co-president of the International Peace Bureau and a speaker from the German peace movement, who also attended the campaign.

Anti-NATO activists in the city also organized a counter summit, which began on August 30 and included discussions on drones, nuclear weapons and various ongoing Western military interventions.

Europe
Report Pegs 2 Norwegians As Islamic State Commanders
[IsraelTimes] Norwegian authorities have confirmed that two Norwegian nationals have leading positions within the Islamic State terrorist group, which has taken over swaths of Syria and Iraq, the country's Aftenposten newspaper reported Wednesday, citing national broadcasting network NRK.

According to the report, the two Norwegians hold "commanding positions" and answer only to the head of the terrorist group, His Supreme Immensity, Caliph of the Faithful and Galactic Overlord, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi
...formerly merely the head of ISIL and a veteran of the Bagram jailhouse. Looks like a new messiah to bajillions of Moslems, like just another dead-eyed mass murder to the rest of us...
, receiving orders directly from him.
Ooooooh, Number Twos! Look for the tall, blond ones named Lars, guys.
The two Norwegians were named by the broadcaster as Bastian Vasquez
"Si. His name is Bastian Vasquez, señor. He is a ski instructor!"
from Skien, southwest of Oslo, and an unidentified Norwegian national of African descent from Bærum, just outside the Norwegian capital.
Never mind on tall'n'blond. Ditto "Lars". Bummer.
Vasquez reportedly appeared in an Islamic State propaganda video earlier this year, while the second Norwegian commander, who was not identified by name, was said to have left Norway for Syria in December 2012, nearly two years into the Syrian civil war.

The report quoted Norwegian security forces as saying more than 50 Norwegians have traveled to Syria to fight alongside rebel forces there -- including al-Qaeda affiliates and breakaway jihadist groups.

Ten Norwegian nationals have reportedly been killed while fighting for the Islamic State, while 20 fighters have returned to Norway.

Ex-NSA Chief Sez JPMorgan Hack Proves U.S. Financial System Is 'Vulnerable'
[Daily Caller] An August cyberattack that resulted in the successful theft of gigs of data from JPMorgan Chase proves that the U.S. financial sector is dangerously vulnerable, according to former NSA Director Gen. Keith Alexander.
And most recently Home Depot.
Anonymous sources told Bloomberg last week that the FBI and NSA were launching an investigation into the attack that targeted JPMorgan -- the largest bank in the U.S. -- and at least one additional unnamed bank. The sources said the sophistication of the attack along with evidence discovered on a bank computer indicated Russian government involvement -- a possible retaliation for U.S. economic sanctions imposed against Russia for its support of pro-Russian separatists in Ukraine.

"How would you shake the United States back? Attack a bank in cyberspace," Aexander said in a Wednesday Bloomberg report. "it was them, they just sent a real message: "'You're vulnerable.' "
Personally, I'm glad to see Keith and his team engaged on this one.

Imran Khan unhappy with Azadi March attendance
[DAWN] Pakistain Tehrik-e-Insaf
...a political party in Pakistan. PTI was founded by former Pakistani cricket captain and philanthropist Imran Khan. The party's slogan is Justice, Humanity and Self Esteem, each of which is open to widely divergent interpretations....
(PTI) Chairman Imran Khan
... aka Taliban Khan, who is the lightweight's lightweight...
has expressed dissatisfaction over the performance of the party's Rawalpindi chapter and its six MPAs for not bringing enough people to the sit-in.

Imran Khan summoned all leaders from Rawalpindi on Wednesday and met them inside the Azadi Truck on the Constitution Avenue. The meeting was attended by President PTI North Punjab Sadaqat Abbasi and MPAs Saddique Khan, Malik Taimoor Masood, Asif Mehmood, Rashid Hafeez, Ijaz Khan Jazi and Arif Abbasi.

He asked them to bring 200 people from each union council for the next two to three days, to show the party's street strength in the 'final stage'.

A senior PTI leader told Dawn that the party chairman was unhappy with the attendance of the local chapter at the sit-in site, especially after the police action.

"If all office-bearers attended the sit-in, then more than 1,000 people will remain on the protest venue. The responsibility lies on the shoulders of the local leaders to improve the attendance of the gathering in the next two or three days, which will be final," he quoted the party chairman's views.

He said the party leaders had informed the chairman that most of the people avoided to come in front due to the presence of Awami Moslem League (AML) leader Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on the container.

He said the party leaders had been asked to remain loyal to the party and be ready for the final announcement of the movement.

The official said the presence of a large crowd was necessary for the gathering, because the PAT workers were higher in number and PTI needs to increase the number of its own workers at the protest venue.

He said the party chairman also questioned the resignations of the MPAs, who told him that the Punjab Assembly speaker had made phone calls to the MPAs for verification of their resignations one day before.

"All MPAs were assured that the party would give them party tickets again and accommodate them in the cabinet if PTI manages to form a government in the next elections. The party chairman was hopeful that the next general elections were near," he said.

PTI District President and MPA Arif Abbasi told Dawn that the party members held a meeting with the chairman and discussed party issues for the next few days.

He said the party asked them to bring maximum number of people at the sit-in for next two to three days, adding that Imran Khan wanted to improve the morale of the local leadership and heard their problems during the meeting.

He said the PTI Punjab chapter also held a meeting and discussed the current situation after the departure of Javed Hashmi.

In pouring rain, Qadri lashes out at parliamentarians
[DAWN] As the political crisis prevailing in the country continues unabated, the government and opposition parties in the Assembly are making frantic efforts to negotiate with the protesting PTI and PAT.

The previous day saw the PTI politicians march into Parliament, with Shah Mehmood Wormtongue Qureshi making a feverish speech about his party's decision to march. There was, however, no finality on the acceptance of their resignations as the NA speaker maintained his wish to meet with the disgruntled politicians in his chambers.

The MQM, too, added to mounting pressure on the government when party chief Altaf Hussain demanded the resignations of all MQM politicians.

While the opposition jirga gave the welcome news that the issue was "70% resolved", Dr Tahirul Qadri
...Pak politician, and would-be dictator, founder and head of Tehreek-e-Minhajul Quran and Pakistain Awami Tehrik. He usually resides in Canada, but returns to Pakistain periodically to foam at the mouth and lead demonstrations. Depending on which way the wind's blowing, Qadri claims to be the author of Pak's blasphemy law. Other times he says it wasn't him...
show no signs of retreat; an absurd appeal for bats, balls and legos for the children at the PAT dharna was made, as well as mattresses for the women.

With the numbers at the Constitution Avenue parade continuing the ebb and flow pattern of the past weeks, a dramatic ruling from the Supreme Court or flexibility from the defiant government and stubborn protesting parties are the only likely options to end the deadlock.

Will worn-out Imran give up on his demand for the premier's resignation? Will better sense prevail for Dr Qadri, who is calling for an overthrow of the system as we know it? Will the passive government pull a new trick out of its hat?

UN to Discuss Pakistani Shelling on Afghan Soil
[Tolo News] Afghan Member of Parliament Baktash Siavash launched a civil and political movement to break the silence of both the international community and the Afghan government about Pakistain's continuous military shelling on eastern Kunar province
... which is right down the road from Chitral. Kunar is Haqqani country.....
.

Sivash has gathered signatures from all over the country, creating a ten-meter long petition in which he has asked the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
(UN) to halt Pakistain's invasive attacks.

He called the silence of the Afghan government on the matter shameful.

"The deputy UN special representative to Afghanistan has appreciated our action and has pledged to take the necessary measures to address our concerns," he said.

The UN has pledged to raise the issue at the UN Security Council meeting.

"We will continue to raise it to the extent that we are able through our own communications to the Security Council, this areas team will continue to raise it as an issue of concern," UN Deputy Special Representative of the Secretary-General for Afghanistan Nicholas Haysom said.

Provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar
The unfortunate Afghan province located adjacent to Mohmand, Kurram, and Khyber Agencies. The capital is Jalalabad. The province was the fief of Younus Khalis after the Soviets departed and one of his sons is the current provincial Taliban commander. Nangarhar is Haqqani country..
have been under attack by Pak military for more than three years. Up to 5,000 missiles have been launched on the areas alongside the border that have forced hundreds of civilians to flee their homes, while there has been no serious reaction on the Afghan part.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Pro-Islamic State Gathering On Temple Mount Filmed By Israeli TV
[IsraelTimes] Israel's Channel 10 on Wednesday night broadcast what it said was footage from a recent "Islamic State gathering" on the Temple Mount in Jerusalem.

The report, which is to be broadcast in full next week, said the gathering underlined that Islamic State intends to focus on Israel in the future.

Formally, the gathering, attended by thousands, was organized by the Tahrir party, which the report described as being the "Paleostine branch" of Islamic State.
For all the shouts of victory, Hamas lost big to Israel, so another strong horse must be found.
Speakers were filmed
Prob'ly not just by Channel 10...
anticipating the liberation of Jerusalem and decrying Jewish pollution of the city. Several black IS flags were seen in the footage.

The footage was filmed on a recent Friday, the report said.

The news hound, Zvi Yehezkeli, said a photograph of a Paleostinian youngster holding an IS flag that proliferated on social media over the past week was taken next to where he was standing.
Click on the headline, above, to see the photo.
Yehezkeli said he had expected to be stopped by Israeli Police when he tried to enter the Mount area at a time designated for Moslem prayers, and that it was frightening to be in the plaza while the IS gathering was taking place.

He claimed that the Islamic State, "now knocking on Jordan's door, has marked 'Paleostine' as the next target on its list."
It's an ancient tradition: Joshua sent spies into Jericho, after all.
The group has made large gains in Syria and Iraq, where it has been targeted by US Arclight airstrikes.

On Wednesday, an Israeli foreign ministry spokesperson wrote on twitter that Steven Sotloff, an American journalist beheaded by IS in a video released a day earlier, held Israeli citizenship. The Foreign Ministry declined to confirm the information.

Sotloff, a Jewish native of Miami and the grandson of Holocaust survivors, came to Israel in 2008 to pursue an undergraduate degree at the Interdisciplinary Center in Herzliya.
Another Times of Israel report adds:
Paleostinians from the Gazoo Strip and the West Bank have joined the ranks of the Islamic State group, Channel 2 reported Thursday, citing intelligence sources.

The report came a day after Defense Minister Moshe Ya’alon formally designated the organization a terror group, along with Al-Qaeda affiliate Abdallah Azzam Brigades.

That move enables Israel to act against the organizations by prohibiting gatherings, recruitment, fundraising and other activities, Israel Radio reported.

The step was taken upon the recommendation of the Shin Bet, possibly to grant the organization legal tools to deal with Paleostinian jihadis who might return from fighting in the group’s ranks in Syria and Iraq.

Gaza reconstruction to cost $7.8bn
[ARABNEWS] Rebuilding Gazoo will cost $7.8 billion, the Paleostinian Authority said on Thursday, in the most comprehensive assessment yet of damage from a seven-week war with Israel during which whole neighborhoods and vital infrastructure were flattened.

The cost of rebuilding 17,000 Gazook homes razed by Israeli bombings would be $2.5 billion, the authority said, and the energy sector needed $250 million after the Strip's only power plant was destroyed by two Israeli missiles.

"The attack on Gazoo this time had no precedent, Gazoo has been hit with a catastrophe and it needs immediate help because many things can't wait long," Mohammed Shtayyeh, a Paleostinian economist and a senior member of the West Bank's dominant Fatah party, said in Ramallah.

Rebuilding Gazoo would depend heavily on foreign aid and would require an end to Paleostinian rivalry and Israel opening its border crossings, said Shtayyeh, who heads the Paleostinian Economic Council for Research and Development (PECDAR) which ran the survey.

But none of the factors mentioned by Shtayyeh appeared forthcoming. A donor conference in Cairo has yet to be formally scheduled, Paleostinian institutions remain divided between Gazoo and the West Bank and Israel has yet to fundamentally ease the movement of people and goods at its Gazoo border. The PA's assessment also found that the strip's education sector would need around $143 million to get back on its feet. About half a million children have been unable to return to their schools due to damage or because the buildings are being used to house refugees.

Over 106,000 of Gazoo's 1.8 million residents have been displaced to UN shelters and host families.

The remaining billions of dollars in the PECDAR assessment, which was compiled by 13 experts resident in Gazoo and their research teams, were allocated to the financial, health, agriculture, and transportation sectors, all of which suffered widespread damage during the war.

The assessment also earmarked $670 million for an airport and sea port, which Shtayyeh said was a Paleostinian right, but Israel has so far rejected.

In the week since an Egyptian-mediated cease-fire took hold on August 26, little progress has been made in getting the rebuilding underway or settling the bitter political rifts around Gazoo.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Japan Transfers $1 Billion In Frozen Oil Money To Iran
[IsraelTimes] One billion dollars of frozen oil assets were transferred to Iran Thursday from the Central Bank of Iran's Japan account, Iran's state-run IRNA news agency said.
That money will come in handy for all the war fronts Iran is managing at the moment, especially after Hamas just wasted all the assets given them for the conquest of the Zionist entity,
The money represents the first and second installments (out of six) totaling $2.8 billion in frozen petroleum assets to be released to Iran as part of a deal struck earlier this year with the P5+1 world powers, the agency reported.
Even handier. Wars are expensive, donchanknow.
That deal stipulated that Iran would continue to curb its controversial nuclear program, which Israel, the West and much of the Arab world say is leading to the Islamic Theocratic Republic developing nuclear weapons capability, in exchange for a partial lifting of crippling economic sanctions.
Clearly one side is holding up its side of the bargain...
Also on Thursday, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
said that talks between Iran and the P5+1 powers will resume on New York on September 18.

EU front man Michael Mann said that preparatory meetings will be held in Vienna next week. Negotiators face a November 24 deadline to overcome stubborn differences over the size and capacity of enrichment activities Tehran would be allowed to maintain.

Outgoing EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton is coordinating the talks on behalf of the US, Russia, China, Britannia, La Belle France and Germany.

The talks have stalled over intense disagreements over the purpose of Iran's nuclear program, which Tehran says is aimed at peaceful purposes only.
