Afghanistan
Militant Groups Behind Illegal Drug Trade in Afghanistan: MoI
[ToloNews] Militant groups such as Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
, al Qaeda and ISIS "are the main backers of drug trafficking" in Afghanistan, the counter-narcotics department of the Ministry of Interior said on Saturday.

The ministry said the provinces such as Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
, Nimroz, Farah and Badakhshan where the Taliban has more influence, poppy cultivation and drug processing "have been on the rise" compared to other places.

"Three main groups including Al Qaeda, ISIS and the Taliban are the main networks in Afghanistan that are supporting (drug) trafficking in the country," said Abdul Sami Popalzai, head of the counter-narcotics department of Ministry of Interior Affairs.

Taliban rejected their involvement in the illegal drug trade, saying they are not in a position to prevent drug smuggling in areas under their influence.

"We basically control rural areas where there is agriculture. The people cultivate everything there... We cannot prevent them because we do not have an alternative for them. Therefore, we cannot go against them because we are in a war situation," said a Taliban front man.

The US Special Inspector General for Afghanistan Reconstruction (SIGAR) in a recent report said that despite the US spending of $94 billion to fight drug trafficking in Afghanistan since 2002, the efforts have not left any significant outcome to eradicate it completely.

The Afghan government recently said that counter-narcotics forces have arrested 270 suspects since the start of autumn.

"47 of the suspects were arrested from Hamid Maybe I'll join the Taliban Karzai
...Former president of Aghanistan, part of the problem not part of the solution...
International Airport," said Ahmad Khalid Muwahid, a front man for Counter Narcotics Justices Center (CNJC).

According to the ministry, the Afghan counter-narcotics forces have confiscated at least 280 tons of drugs and chemicals in 2,170 operations launched last year.

Fifth Column
Authorities Go Soft On Ecoterrorists Who Left Thousands of Coloradans in the Cold
[FrontPage] A major lefty meme is that the authorities treat right-wing murderous Moslems with kid gloves while cracking down on Islamic terrorists. This is another reminder of the velvet gloves with which the authorities handle lefty terrorists. We don't even need to go back to the Weathermen whose members got a pass and jobs in the cultural establishment.

Here's a recent ecoterrorist attack which left thousands of people in the cold with no heat.

The city of Aspen entered a local state of emergency on Tuesday following a natural gas outage reportedly caused by vandalism.

The declaration gives Acting City Manager Scott Miller "the tools to protect public health and safety including sheltering vulnerable populations and accessing properties to protect vulnerable properties or individuals," according to a statement from the city.

The outages come after three Black Hills Energy natural gas sites in the area were vandalized on Sunday, two of which included references to the radical environmental advocacy group "Earth First," The Aspen Times reported. Local law enforcement is leading the investigation with the help of FBI resources, according to the Times.

Pitkin County Commissioner Patti Clapper said the vandalism was "almost, to me, an act of terrorism," according to the Times.

But the authorities are quickly running away from any harsh language despite the misery caused by the ecoterrorist attack.

While the Federal Bureau of Investigation is aiding local authorities, law enforcement Monday afternoon tried several times to soften the language being used to describe the event — potential felonies occurred, yes, but not ecoterrorism or even attacks, Pitkin County Sheriff Joe DiSalvo emphasized.

"I know that word’s been thrown around a lot — it’s not the word I would use to characterize this event. I would say it is an intentional act to disrupt gas service and the surrounding area with felony level criminal nature," he said during Monday afternoon’s media briefing on the matter. "I think ’attack’ may be a mischaracterization, at least from my perspective and somewhat hyperbolic."

And Earth First? The authorities have "reached out".

That said, the APD has identified general contact information and have reached out — though, Linn made clear Monday, Sherlocks are not implicating the movement in any criminal activity.

"We have called them, yes. We did find a contact number on one of the fliers or the webpage or something like that," Linn said while handing out space heaters from outside the department Monday night. "We called and talked to an individual and emailed multiple individuals. The whole point is we’re not accusing the organization of something because ... the organization is made up of individuals. That’s not to say the individual or individuals responsible for this in some way affiliate themselves with this."

Govt to rebuild Karak Hindu shrine vandalised by mob
Public promises are easy to make.
[Dawn] Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Mahmood Khan on Friday said his government would reconstruct a Hindu shrine damaged and torched by a mob in Teri area of Karak district last Wednesday.

He also issued necessary instructions to the relevant authorities for the purpose, said an official statement issued here.

A mob consisting of young and old people and children had badly damaged Hindu saint Shri Paramhans Ji Maharaj’s samadhi and set it ablaze drawing condemnation from rights activists and religious minorities.

Iraq
Iraq’s Blackwater victims plan to sue Trump
[Rudaw] Victims and families of Iraqi civilians who were killed by the American Blackwater security company in Baghdad in 2007 plan to sue outgoing US President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons......
who last month granted pardons for the convicted killers, victims told Rudaw this week.

"The decision to release these criminals was wrong. Such a decision should not be made. Where is the international community and human rights
...which are usually entirely different from personal liberty...
[groups] on this decision?" asked Jassim Mohammed, who at the time was working as a courier for the Iraqi Interior Ministry and was injured in the incident.

"We, the injured and families of the deaders, have agreed to hire a lawyer to sue Trump in international courts for releasing the criminals," he said.

In Baghdad’s Nisour Square in September 2007 a boom-mobile went kaboom! near a US diplomat, who was under the protection of Blackwater, a privately-owned military company now known as Academi. A team was sent to evacuate the official when four contractors opened fire, indiscriminately shooting at people trying to escape or take cover, according to court documents.

Fourteen people were killed and at least 17 injured in the massacre. Mohammed was hit in the head and barely survived.

The security firm was banned from Iraq in 2009 and the perpetrators were put on trial back in the US. Nicholas Slatten was sentenced to life in prison for first-degree murder. Three others, Paul Slough, Evan Liberty, and Dustin Heard, were found guilty of voluntary and attempted manslaughter.

All four were pardoned by Trump as part of a wider wave of clemencies on 22 December.

Saeed Haydar is the uncle of one of the casualties. He was a witness at the Blackwater trial in the US.

"All of us, who were listed as witnesses, went to bear witness. Definitely, most of the witnesses accused the Blackwater company. But what was the use? If an American is killed, would the US be silent? It is really unfortunate for our government to be silent," he told Rudaw.

Following the pardons, the Iraqi foreign ministry said the Trump administration "did not take into account the seriousness of the crime committed" when making its decision.

The ministry said it will use "diplomatic channels to urge it [the US] to reconsider this decision."

United Nations
...an idea whose time has gone...
experts on Wednesday condemned the pardons as an "affront to justice."

The victims said they don’t expect their court case will succeed, but they hope it will at least grant them some emotional relief.
It looks like everyone will be content with the result.

Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. Mr. Shallah was a PhD economist who was on the FBI most wanted list until he died in 2020, possibly in Florida. Back in 2003 Mr. Shallah was indicted in absentia of running a PIJ jihadi cell in Florida connected to PIJ Majlis Shura (governing council) secretary and U of S. Florida computer engineering professor Sami al Arian...
said on Friday, in an interview carried by RT Arabic, that Major General Qassem Soleimani
, who was assassinated in Baghdad, had provided Gazoo

He explained that Soleimani sent 10 ships loaded with weapons to Gaza,
...we seem to have missed that report, unless by ships he means rowboats ...
in addition to transferring missile technology to the PIJ and Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, fighters in Gaza after they were trained on it in Iran

until it achieved self-sufficiency, as the two movements now have their experts. They themselves are now training Paleostinian engineers and technicians locally, Nakhalah said.

Nakhalah asserted that the accumulation of Paleostinian experience in this field has reached the point of innovation, as "our fighters in Gaza and the manufacturing units make progress in the arms industry every day."

During his visit to the Iranian capital, on Friday, in a ceremony commemorating the first anniversary of the liquidation of Qassem Soleimani and Abu Mahdi al-Mohandis, Nakhalah reiterated his assertion that "Qassem Soleimani sent us missiles that struck the capital of the Zionist entity, and these missiles are still doing their work" and that this Iranian leader was present. On all the battlefronts and in the Paleostine front in particular."

He explained, "Qassem Soleimani was assassinated because he was an obstacle to the United States and Israel in their efforts to reform the region."

Commenting on the recent Paleostinian military maneuvers in Gaza, Nakhalah told al-Mayadeen TV that it was "conducted with live weapons" from beginning to end, and that it was a message to Tel Aviv, despite its attempt to minimize it to reassure the Israelis, explaining that "long-range missiles have been tested. Its range exceeded approximately 100 km in the maneuver."

2020 sees fewest soldiers, civilians killed in war or terror in Israel’s history
[IsraelTimes] IDF releases year-end statistics, including 50 targets hit in Syria, 2,227 West Bank arrests, 1,400 fighter jet sorties, 176 Gazoo

rockets.

Despite the pandemic, the West Bank remained a significant source of concern for the IDF — on par with recent years — though there were some areas of improvement and some of regression. In 2020, the number of stabbings decreased by a third, from 12 in 2019 to nine. The number of shooting attacks, however, increased significantly, from 19 in 2019 to 31, though this was similar to the number of shootings in 2018 — 33 — and in 2017 — 34.

In total, the IDF said the West Bank saw 60 terror attacks in 2020, up from 51 in 2019, but down from 76 in 2018 and 75 in 2017.

In response to these attacks and as part of ongoing efforts against terror groups in the West Bank, the military conducted 2,277 arrests over the past year, a slight decrease from the previous years: 2,328 in 2019; 3,173 in 2018; and 3,627 in 2017.

Though not included in the statistics released by the military Thursday, the year 2020 also saw the lowest number of soldiers and civilians killed in war and terror attacks in the country’s history. As of Thursday, three people — two civilians and one soldier — were killed in security-related attacks, including Esther Horgen, who was killed earlier this month in a brutal assault outside the northern West Bank settlement where she lived, Tal Menashe.

In 2020, the IDF significantly stepped up its campaign against the West Bank’s local gun production industry, shutting down 50 workshops where it said guns were being produced, compared to 14 in 2019 and four in 2018.

Though there was relatively little large-scale fighting between Israel and terror groups in the Gaza Strip in 2020 — save for a two-day battle in February — the Paleostinian enclave remained restive, with 176 projectiles fired at Israel from there over the past year. Ninety of the projectiles, just over half, struck open fields, according to the IDF.

The military said Iron Dome missile defense batteries intercepted 80 out of the 86 other rockets, which were heading toward populated areas, giving the system a 93 percent success rate.

According to the military, over the course of 2020, Israeli Air Force drones clocked some 35,000 flight hours; helicopters flew over 400 sorties, a quarter of them search and rescue operations; and transport airplanes flew over 1,000 missions.

Hassan Danaeifar follows in Qasem Soleimani’s footsteps
Loooong backgrounder on Hassan Danaeifar, Iran’s big man in Iraq, most particularly long time beloved friend of Iraqi Kurdistan. He is currently is secretary of the Committee to Develop Iranian Economic Ties with Iraq and Syria. Some key bits:
[Rudaw] Clear skies reigned when two veteran officers from Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) visited the Kurdistan Region of Iraq’s second city of Sulaimani in December 2019.

The officers had come to attend a congress of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan (PUK), Sulaimani’s dominant party and a regional ally of Iran. The congress had long been delayed, a reflection of the lethargy the party had suffered since the death of its charismatic leader and co-founder. The PUK hoped that the congress would see it regain an edge in Kurdish and Iraqi politics.

One of the visiting IRGC officers was Hassan Danaeifar, Iran’s former ambassador to Baghdad and now the top Iranian economic official in Iraq. The 57-year-old is a veteran of Iraqi Kurdish politics with nearly four decades of experience that began with clandestine operations against the Baathists, with the help of Peshmerga commanders now sat at the pinnacle of power in Kurdistan. Danaeifar, who speaks fluent Kurdish, is on a first name basis with Kurdistan Region officials. He feels more at home in Sulaimani than in his hometown of Shooshtar, an ancient riverside city in southwest Iran.

EXAMPLE OF IRANIAN APPLIED LOGIC
Use the World Courts to charge those that eliminated a MASS MURDER that was doing their bidding. While they are making trying to make a Nuclear Bomb/Missile to kill millions.

A little background on this A-Hole:

* He was Ayatollah Ali Khamene's right-hand man.

* He was DIRECTLY responsible for the deaths of 608+ American troops in Iraq.

* The commander of the terrorist Quds Force, the International & Internal TERRORIST branch of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

* From 01/1993 to 2019, His terrorist Forces carried out over 300 terrorist attacks under his leadership killing 10's of 1,000's. Conducted 50+ Terrorist attacks in: Thailand, Philippians, India, Somalia, Lagos, and Nairobi alone. Resulting in the deaths of 100's in each country.

* Controlled, supported and/or funded all Shiite terrorist organizations throughout the Middle East, All Hezbollah groups and about 2 dozen other smaller Terrorist groups in Lebanon, Syria, Yemen, Bahrain and other countries.

* Went so far as to contract a Mexican drug cartel to try and blow up a popular restaurant in Washington, DC. In order to kill the Saudi Ambassador to the United States who regularly (stupidly) dined there.

* Murdered over 2,000 IRAQI & IRANIAN protest leaders during mass protests by using SNIPERS.

* Marched captured children into minefields to clear them with their bodies.

* He is the one OBAMA could have and decided NOT TO eliminated multiple times. That went on murder 1000's Iranian People during their Mass (100,000+) uprisings seeking LIBERTY, BASIC RIGHTS & FREEDOMS.
