Taxpayers to Spend $392.69 per Person per Night on Hotels for Illegal Border-Crossers
[Center for Immigration studies] On March 20, Axios reported that the Biden administration has entered into a six-month contract worth $86 million to house 1,200 migrant family members near the Southwest border in Texas and Arizona. That works out to $71,666.67 per migrant, paid by your tax dollars, meaning that you are now a co-conspirator to one of the largest smuggling schemes in history.

Keep in mind, as the outlet notes, that $86 million is just the beginning, as the contract ("through Endeavors, a Texas-based nonprofit" — I would hate to see the tab if they were in it for the money) "could be extended and expanded".

Why does the Biden administration need $86 million in hotel space? ICE, which detains adults and adults traveling with children (family units or FMUs), is already using its family residential centers (FRCs) as "rapid-processing centers with the goal of releasing families within 72 hours". But apparently even with that short turn-around time, the agency is running out of space.

Here is an important point to keep in mind: Such speedy releases of FMUs — with little more than some fingerprinting and a future court date — into the interior of the United States is far and away "the major ’pull factor'" that will encourage even more adult migrants to risk their lives and their accompanying children’s on the trek to the United States in the future.

That is a sorry sight, LA Echo Park, even sorrier is spending 1/2 a million on a park, when this same money could house these souls for a month and maybe start to get them back on their feet.

I remember a time that Americans gave other Americans in this park living situation a chance to change their circumstances if they wanted it.

Now, well, give the help to the invaders, not your own people.

Regrettably, story not covered by US media, but by foreigners.

Thanks for posting this Spanky.

#8  Remember day labor shops? Homeless used to be able to be at a day labor shop at 7am and get a days work and be paid at the end of the day. It was a start at getting off the street.

Then the dims started rampant illegal immigration and the homeless have not chance at jobs today taken by illegals.

#9  Ulise, the bums in Echo Park have been offered help and they have refused it. They prefer to live in the park where they can come and go as they please and there are no restrictions on their drug and alcohol abuse. The only answer that makes any sense at all is to incarcerate them and force them into mental health treatments and substance abuse treatment. There are laws on the books that would allow the authorities to do so if their goal was not the destruction of middle class suburban neighborhoods like Echo Park. These people are vagrants, they use illegal narcotics, they urinate and defecate in public and they litter. These are all violations of various laws for which these people could and should be arrested. No way in hell should taxpayers be on the hook for expensive hotels and condos. Politicians and liberal activists can talk all they want about affordable housing but it's a lie and it always has been. It is NOT affordable and it destroys middle class neighborhoods. But then, that is the goal. The bums could be incarcerated fairly cheaply in barracks or tent cities in the boondocks where normal, civilized people would not be subject to their intrusions and their filth. Then, if they do not respond to mental health and substance abuse treatment, they could be incarcerated again for longer periods of time. Homeless encampments in places like Echo Park would never be tolerated by any responsible government.

As for the illegal aliens, they should never be allowed to cross the border. But if they do, they should be immediately deported. We do not owe these people anything. But Democrats want to replace us with poor, ignorant Third World peasants because they'll work for cheap, vote Democrat and serve in our military without questioning the Biden/Harris moves against civilians in this country.

#11  First of all Illegal Aliens should *never* be considered in any manner 'immigrants'. That is a lie the media and advocates have been tellin for decades. They are Illegal Aliens and the term 'immigrant' shouldn't even be mentioned in the conversation.
They should be simply immediately deported - no asylum, no immigration court or consideration. If they want asylum they should go to a port of entry.
And if they crossed the border illegally they should be subject to a permanent ban on immigration.

#13  That's a load of crap, Blackbeard. Read my whole rant:

I don't care if you're poor or crazy but when you shit on my front lawn you should go to jail for it. When you smoke fentanyl in a public park you need to be restrained. Because how compassionate is it to let them OD and die?

Did you read the part where I said they should be treated for mental illness and substance abuse? They won't submit to it voluntarily so when they break the law they can be incarcerated and then they can receive treatment whether they want it or not.

#16  Given the experiences hotels have had with vagrants imposed on them by local governments in recent years, it would not surprise me if a significant portion of the $392.69/day is a security deposit for the cost to gut those rooms back to the studs — and the hotel’s public spaces as well — and rebuild and refurnish them afterward because they’ll be uncleanable. [KhaamaPress] President Ghani on Wednesday inauguration Kamal khan Dam in western Nimroz province along with two of his deputies Amrullah Saleh and Sarwar Danish.

All three officials President Ghani, Amrullah Saleh, and Sarwar Danish hit three yellow buttons that opened the dam’s sluice gates and water started flowing into the canal for the first time.

The dam in the Chahar Burjak district of the province has a 52 million cubic meters capacity and will irrigate 174,000 to 180,000 hectares of land.

The damn
...such a cute typo!
will also provide 9 megawatts of electrical power, and as it is located near Harirud river the dam will help provide water to the provincial center, according to the National Water Affairs Regulation Authority.

Kalam Khan damn is 16 meters high and beside irrigation it will facilitate in prevention of floods in the province.

Ghani during the opening ceremony of Kamal Khan dam referred to Iran and said: We do not give free water, give us fuel, get water.

deprived Afghanistan and afghans of having dozens of Kamal Khan dams.

He indicated that every Death Eater who is fighting and destroying his or her own nation should think about the "Kamal Khan Dam" for a few minutes.

Nimroz province will no longer be considered a deprived region, President Ghani added and called on the Taliban that he has not built this dam for himself but for their children.

Iran

The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. Taliban Slam Afghan President's Proposal for New Election, insist on Emirate’s return
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The Taliban
...Arabic for students...
on Wednesday rejected a proposal by Afghanistan's Caped President Ashraf Ghani
...former chancellor of Kabul University, now president of Afghanistan. Before returning to Afghanistan in 2002 he was a scholar of political science and anthropology. He worked at the World Bank working on international development assistance. As Finance Minister of Afghanistan between July 2002 and December 2004, he led Afghanistan's attempted economic recovery until the Karzais stole all the money...
to hold elections later this year, after months of peace talks between the two warring sides have made little progress.

Although he hasn’t made details public, Ghani will announce the election plan at a stakeholder conference in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
next month, according to two government officials.

The move is likely an attempt to undercut a US proposal — supported by Russia — for the formation of an interim government involving the Taliban to rule the country once the last US troops withdraw.

"The government will go to Turkey with a plan for an early election which is a fair plan for the future of Afghanistan," one bigwig said.

The Taliban immediately rejected the proposal.

"Such processes (elections) have pushed the country to the verge of crisis in the past," Taliban front man Zabihullah Mujahid said of Ghani’s plan.

"They are now talking about a process that has always been scandalous," he told AFP, saying any decision on the country’s future must be hammered out in ongoing talks between the two sides.

"We will never support it."

The United States is due to withdraw the last of its troops by May 1 under a deal hammered out with the Taliban last year, although President Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity....
said earlier this month the deadline would be "tough" to meet.

That deal also paved the way for the Taliban and Afghan government to negotiate a peace plan and hammer out an agreement on how the country should be ruled, but those talks — held since September in Doha, Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
— have made little headway.

Afghanistan has a troubled history at the polls, with elections beset by rampant fraud, low turnout and Death Eater violence.

The Taliban’s response comes hours after US Secretary of State Antony Blinken told NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A cautionary tale of cost-benefit analysis....
that Washington is still weighing up whether to withdraw its troops by the May 1 deadline.

The Afghan government is keen to keep US forces in the country for as long as possible for the vital air cover they provide, with violence raging in recent months.

Kabulov: Taliban Delegates in Moscow Insisted on Emirate's Return

[ToloNews] Zamir Kabulov, the Russian president's envoy for Afghanistan, said that the Taliban during the Moscow meeting insisted on the restoration of the Islamic emirate as part of the solution to the conflict.

"The Taliban's delegation insisted that it's (restoring an Islamic Emirate in Afghanistan) a possible solution in Afghanistan. Their opponents disagreed," said Kabulov.

Kabulov said that Russia is satisfied with the results of the Afghanistan peace conference that Moscow hosted last week and urged the US to comply with agreements to withdraw its troops from the country by May 1.

"The aim of this meeting was to give an impulse to the stalled intra-Afghan talks in Doha. I think this aim was accomplished," said the Russian envoy as quoted by the AP.

According to the report, the Taliban representatives said during talks they were firm on their demand for an Islamic government, without elaborating on what an Islamic government would look like or whether it would mean a return to their repressive rules that denied girls education and women's rights to work, and imposed harsh punishments.

In previous statements, the Taliban have said their vision of an Islamic government would allow girls to attend school, women to work or be in public life, but in every conversation they emphasized the need to follow Islamic injunctions without specifying what that would mean.

Amnesty urges int'l court to probe Nigeria attacks
That’ll fix the problem, fer shure.
[AA.TR] Amnesia Amnesty International on Wednesday urged the International Criminal Court (ICC) to investigate armed attacks, looting and rapes reportedly committed by the Boko Haram
... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno State.

"The International Criminal Court must immediately open a full investigation into the atrocities committed by all sides, and ensure those responsible are held accountable, including for crimes against women and girls," read a statement issued by Amnesia Amnesty International Wednesday.

Citing interviews of villagers in Borno State, the rights group said some attackers wore Nigerian military uniforms, while others wore traditional clothes.

"Witnesses said they knew the perpetrators belonged to Boko Haram, and not the Nigerian military, for several reasons. They could hear the fighters speaking languages common among Boko Haram members; the fighters came on cycle of violences, not military vehicles; and the fighters dressed in a combination of attire. Even those fighters wearing stolen Nigerian military uniforms often wore sandals or had bare feet, instead of military boots," Amnesty said.

Amnesia Amnesty International also cited witnesses that some children, aged between 15 and 17 years, were also among the bad boys, along with men in their twenties.

"As Boko Haram continue their relentless cycle of killings, abductions and looting, they are also subjecting women and girls to rape and other sexual violence during their attacks. These atrocities are war crimes," Osai Ojigho, director of Amnesia Amnesty International Nigeria, was quoted as saying in the statement.

"The targeted communities have been abandoned by the forces that are supposed to protect them, [..] The Nigerian authorities must urgently address this issue," Ojigho said.

Europe
Turkey decries Macron's 'unacceptable' remarks
Get used to it, O not-so-great sultan.
[AA.TR] Ankara on Wednesday denounced recent remarks by the French president about The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
and its leader, calling them "unacceptable"."We find the statements by French President [Emmanuel] Macron, which he gave in response to the deliberate questions asked in the program and are against the friendship and alliance between our countries, unacceptable," Foreign Ministry front man Hami Aksoy said in a written statement.

Aksoy also said "unjust and inconsistent" statements were made regarding Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
and Turkey.

During an interview aired on the La Belle France5 TV channel on Tuesday, Macron claimed that Turkey was "attempting to interfere" in La Belle France’s next presidential election in 2022.

He stressed that the TV program was deliberately prepared ahead of this week’s EU summit and tried to erode the reality of European Turkey, but it is obvious that those claims cannot reach their goal.

Both with its regional policies and close bilateral ties with the member states, Turkey will continue to be effective on the European continent, NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
, and transatlantic relations as well as providing the largest contributions, according to Aksoy.

He said that Macron’s claims with "certain judgments" that Turkey would interfere in La Belle France’s presidential election next year are alienating foreign-origin communities living in the country and thus "dangerous".

No agenda on La Belle France’s domestic politics

"Turkey doesn’t have any agenda on La Belle France’s domestic politics except prosperity, peace and harmony of the Ottoman Turkish community with around 800,000 people living in the country," Aksoy stressed, adding that Turkey also expects La Belle France not to make itself an item of domestic politics especially at the times of elections.

"We think that those statements by Mr. Macron are unfortunate and inconsistent at a time we take steps to replace the tension in the relations between the two countries with calm and friendship," Aksoy said.

He highlighted that the "insincerity and inconsistency" were the basis of recent issues between Ankara and Gay Paree.

"We remind once again that La Belle France’s positive and negative attitudes and rhetoric that it will display in this period will see retaliation by Turkey in the same way."

Aksoy also said that "Turkey pursues legitimate policies under international law in the issues of Eastern Mediterranean, Syria and in Libya."

Relations between La Belle France and Turkey have been at odds geopolitically over conflicts in Syria and Libya. Most recently, Erdogan and Macron lashed out at each other following a controversy over offensive caricatures of Islam's Prophet Muhammad.

Macron claimed that Turkey distorted his comments on Islam last year when he described Islam "a religion in crisis" after a series of terror attacks in La Belle France.

Meanwhile,
...back at the mall, Clarissa suddenly spied Mr. Bartlett at the checkout counter. He was buying Grecian Formula!...
Omer Celik, front man for the ruling Justice and Development (AK) Party, told news hounds on Macron’s remarks that such an approach "shadows bilateral relations" and does not comply with "constructive speaking".

Celik said those remarks also unbalance the public order in La Belle France.

#1  Turkey had a referendum in 2017 to give more power to the President (Erdogan).

He still has to deal with a parliament. Even though the parliament is pretty weak maybe he wants to curtail them some more.

Turkey Says Raised Concern with Russia Envoy over Syria Violence
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
has expressed to Russia's envoy its objections and concerns about a recent flare-up of violence in northwest Syria, the foreign ministry said on Tuesday, after Russian jets hit towns near the Ottoman Turkish border and a hospital in the region.

On Sunday, Russian jets hit a gas facility, a cement factory and towns and cities in the Idlib region near the border. Syrian army artillery killed seven civilians and injured 14 medics in an attack on a hospital in the area, opposition sources and witnesses said.

Following the attacks, Turkey's defense ministry had said a statement had been sent to Russia asking for the attacks to stop immediately and that Ottoman Turkish troops had been alerted.

"A meeting was held with Russia's Ambassador to Ankara at the ministry yesterday. The attacks in Syria were predominantly discussed. Our concerns and worries were conveyed," the foreign ministry said.

"The hospital attack was emphasized too," it said.

Last year, Turkey and Russia agreed a ceasefire in Idlib, halting the heaviest fighting around the region in years that displaced millions of people. Ankara and Moscow have since held several joint military patrols in the region under the deal.

Ottoman Turkish officials, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered...
, said the talks at the ministry were part of a planned meeting, adding that the Russian envoy was told the attack on the hospital was a new violation of the arrangement in Idlib and was unacceptable.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Israeli poll results give no hope for peace: Palestine
That’d be the ancient Moslem meaning of peace, which we would translate as surrender.
[AA.TR] The preliminary results of the Israeli parliamentary polls do not present any prospect for a peace between Paleostine and Israel, the Paleostinian prime minister said on Wednesday.

Visiting Tubas in the Israeli-occupied West Bank, Mohammad Shtayyeh said: "The political agendas of the winning parties in the Israeli election show that there will be no political partner for Paleostine in the grinding of the peace processor."

Shtayyeh also said that results show the dominance of the far-right in Israeli politics.

According to preliminary results the Israeli media announced late Tuesday, Netanyahu’s Likud party won 30 seats in parliament. The polls showed that Netanyahu’s camp, comprising the Likud and allied right-wing parties, fell short of winning 61 seats in the Knesset required to form a government, gaining only 59 seats.

The results show that the right-wing parties, some of them are anti-Netanyahu, dominate the Knesset.

Shtayyeh called on international community to "stop Israeli attacks on Paleostinian land, water and property."

Paleostine is ready to be "a partner in any serious and real grinding of the peace processor," the premier added.

Negotiations between the Paleostinian and Israeli sides have stalled since April 2014 upon Tel Aviv’s refusal to release Paleostinian detainees, to stop its illegal settlement activities, and to accept the borders before the June 1967 war as a basis for the two-state solution.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Report: Return of Refugees Focus of Lebanese-Russian-Syrian Talks
Returning to normalcy. Someone tell Europe and Britain.
[AnNahar] A meeting on the file of Syrian refugees in Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
was held between Lebanon’s caretaker Minister of Social Affairs Ramzi Msharrafieh, Russian Ambassador to Lebanon Alexander Rudakov and Syrian ambassador in Lebanon Ali Abdul Karim Ali, MTV reported on Wednesday.

MTV did not mention when the meeting took place, but said the three men discussed the return of Syrian refugees according to the plan approved by the Lebanese government.

Interlocutors affirmed support for the plan and the need to activate it to achieve a voluntary and dignified return of the displaced, mainly that most Syrian villages became safe areas to return to, said MTV.

They emphasized the facilities provided by the Syrian state which greatly contributes to securing the conditions for return.

MTV quoted unnamed sources as saying that coordination is underway between the Russian side, the Syrian government through related ministers and security parties, and the Lebanese State through Msharafieh and the General Security Directorate, until a solution is reached in coordination with the international community and relevant international organizations.

Lebanon, a small Mediterranean country with a population of about 5 million, hosts the highest concentration of refugees per capita, estimated at around 1 million. Most of them live in informal makeshift tent settlements spread out across Lebanon's Bekaa, not far from the Syrian border.

Lebanon's Caretaker PM: Activating Resigned Cabinet up to Parliament
[ENGLISH.AAWSAT] Leb

It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
’s caretaker prime minister, Hassan Diab, said on Wednesday that it was parliament’s decision whether to re-activate a resigned cabinet, after months of wrangling that has blocked a deal on a new government.

Diab’s cabinet has served in a caretaker capacity since quitting last August over the huge Beirut port blast that killed 200 people and compounded the country’s financial collapse.

In his statement on Wednesday, Diab said the political deadlock spurred calls to activate his cabinet but that the question of whether the constitution allows it was up to the parliament.

Hezbollah said on Wednesday a new cabinet was needed to pull Lebanon out of financial crisis, after a standoff over government formation between its president Michel Aoun
...president of Leb, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Hizbullah...
and prime minister-designate Saad al-Hariri worsened.

The crisis is posing the biggest threat to Lebanon’s stability since the 1975-1990 civil war, and a new cabinet could help initiate reforms to unlock foreign aid.

"Government formation is the only alternative to the chaos that threatens everyone," Hezbollah’s parliamentary bloc said in a statement, calling for transparency and cooperation between Lebanon’s leaders.

The row between Hariri and Aoun intensified after a meeting between the two to discuss a new cabinet ended in a public repudiation.

Lebanon’s Iran-backed Hezbollah group is an ally of Aoun.
