According to a statement by the Health Ministry, several new devices and equipment were sitting idle, due to the shortage of medical and medical ancillary personnel.
The health minister ordered immediate action to get the cardiac catheterization department back in service and provide the required cadres to cover the shortage.
During his tour to the centre, the health minister inspected one of the center's towers, where the maintenance operations had been suspended since 2006.
Al-Zinati gave immediate instructions to avoid the existing contract and resume maintenance operations through the ministry's projects department.

Ylva Johansson, the EU’s home affairs commissioner, pledged 276 million euros ($326m) of EU money for new camps on the islands of Lesbos, Chios, Samos, Kos and Leros, where nearly 14,000 migrants are hosted, saying it was imperative to find “new political solutions” to share the burden between EU states.
In 2015 Greece, Lesbos in particular, was at the front line of a refugee crisis that saw nearly a million people, mostly Syrians, fleeing war, arriving by boat from Turkey.

More than sixty-six hundred thousand children will be given the anti-polio vaccine in Azad Jammu and Kashmir. And two hundred forty-two thousand children under the age of 5 will be vaccinated in Gilgit Baltistan region.
The Health Department has constituted 1690 fixed and mobile teams for this purpose.

The remarks came after Facebook once again and permanently shut down the page of Press TV on Friday in yet another attack by the giant American firm against Iranian media outlets.
Without any prior warning, Facebook informed Press TV that its account had been shut down for what it claimed as the Iranian news channel’s failure to "follow our Community Standards."
"We have already reviewed this decision and it can’t be reversed," the company added in a note, without specifying the so-called violations of its rules.
Censuring what he described as Facebook’s double standards, Engler went on to emphasize, "When Facebook shuts down Press TV’s account without any explanation or any way to remedy the situation... that’s a level of power that everyone needs to be concerned about."

[PRESSTV] A former US senator says the United States supports terrorist organizations in their plots against the government in Damascus and the Syrian people, stressing that Washington should put an end to its "cruel and barbaric" war in the Arab country. Richard Black made the comments in an international conference held by Schiller Institute in Washington DC, as part of a speech on "The US aggressiveness, the terrorist war on Syria, and role of the US and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. Black reaffirmed that the US administration supports terrorist organizations to destroy Syria and steal the Arab country’s wealth, and it imposes sanctions to deprive the Syrian people of the basic necessities of life, stressing the need to stop "this madness."
"I am astonished by the outrageous US aggression against Syria," Black said.
"It is important to acknowledge after ten years of war that the West loves snuffies whom the Syrian people hate."
The former US senator underlined that Washington is not fighting a war on terror as it claims, but rather it is closely allied with snuffies such as al-Qaeda terrorist group to implement its political and exploitative agendas.
"The American forces invaded in 2015 illegally northern Syria and seized the Syrian oil. An American oil company was authorized to build a refinery at a cost of USD 150 million and to explore for more oil on the sovereign Syrian land," Black said. "The United States stole the wealth of these people, leaving the Syrians to freeze in the winter while we steal their fuel."
Black added, "The same area in the north is Syria’s bread basket, and this was also stolen. We gave it to the mercenaries who ship Syrian wheat to Ottoman Turkish merchants while the Syrians are starving."

Once again, social media giant Facebook has removed Press TV’s page from the platform, citing a so-called "failure to follow community standards" as the reason behind the move. It’s not the first time that Press TV has faced censorship from Facebook, following a temporary ban back in January, but now, Press TV has been informed it's permanent. To date, Facebook has not offered any explanation as to why. And this time, without specifying which rules have been broken, Facebook says the ban is permanent. This, in itself, is revealing.
And such a ban, without explanation or the right to appeal the decision, sets a very dangerous precedent, with potential repercussions not just for Press TV, which had more than 4 million followers prior to the announcement, but potentially others, too.
In fact, Facebook’s banning of Press TV, should cause serious concern, for anyone concerned with free speech, all over the world.
If Press TV can be targeted without explanation or warning, then the logical question which follows, is who is next?
Without stating the reason for the ban, many will draw the simple conclusion, that the reason Facebook, a US-based company, has censored Press TV, is nothing to do with "community standards" or "misinformation" but in reality, about the precise opposite-a deep-rooted fear of the facts, and therefore ultimately, the truth.
