Morningstar Hasn't Followed Through on Promise to Eradicate Anti-Israel Bias From Ratings System
[FreeBeacon] Morningstar subsidiary still blacklists two companies that work with Israel to combat terrorism.

The financial ratings giant Morningstar has failed to follow through on promises to eradicate anti-Israel bias from its corporate ratings system and is still blacklisting companies that work with Israel. Morningstar subsidiary Sustainalytics—which rates companies based on Environmental, Social, and Corporate (ESG) governance guidelines—placed at least two companies on its investment watchlist for their work with Israel’s security sector: Motorola Solutions and Elbit Systems, both of which provide counterterrorism surveillance technology that helps the Jewish state combat terrorism, an issue that is taking on renewed importance as Israel faces a new wave of Paleostinian violence.

Sustainalytics has faced accusations that it promotes the anti-Semitic Boycott, Divestment, and Sanctions (BDS) movement, which wages economic warfare on Israel, by downgrading companies that work with Israel. Media attention on the issue, including a series of reports by the Washington Free Beacon, forced Morningstar to announce a sweeping number of reforms that it claimed would combat anti-Israel bias. But several months after this announcement, Middle East experts and former U.S. officials are concerned that Sustainalytics is penalizing companies for the work they do to prevent terrorism in Israel. Sustainalytics’s ratings serve as a guide to investors concerned about social issues, and any company placed on its watchlist can suffer as a result.

Afghanistan
Afghanistan intelligence official brags about ordering attacks that killed hundreds of civilians
[FoxNews] Taj Mir Jawad bragged about ordering a number of car and suicide kabooms.

Afghanistan's deputy minister of intelligence bragged on national television about his role in a 2018 suicide kaboom in Kabul that killed over 100 people.

During an appearance on TOLONews Jan. 28, Taj Mir Jawad took credit for directing the attack, along with other attacks, including car and suicide kabooms.

The 2018 attack involved an ambulance full of explosives traveling to an intersection in Kabul, where it detonated and killed over 100 civilians, including women and kiddies.

Two U.S. intelligence officials, who wish to remain anonymous, told the Long War Journal Taj Mir Jawad went by the name of Jawad Sargar during his time as a Taliban
...the Pashtun equivalent of men...
commander who helped lead the Kabul Attack Network along with known jihadist Daud, or Dawood.

Tajuden Soroush, a senior international correspondent for Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
International, posted a clip of the interview to Twitter.

Suhail Shaheen, head of the Political Office in Doha, refuted Jawad’s claim, telling Fox News Digital that "killing of civilians has never been the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s (IEA) policy. We refute this."

"The IEA front man had denied having carried out the 2018 bombing," stressed Shaheen, who previously served as front man for the Taliban during its insurgency.

The Kabul Attack Network used personnel and resources from the Taliban, al Qaeda and a number of Islamic movements across Uzbekistan and Turkistan to carry out attacks around Afghanistan’s capital city.

Bill Roggio of the Foundation for Defense of Democracies and managing editor of The Long War Journal, wrote on Twitter that the group even found support from the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran, which he claims directly funded the Taliban and al Qaeda.
But how can that be, when we know that Sunni and Shiites never, ever support one another, even after Iran sheltered one branch of Al Qaeda after 9/11.

"The IRGC was financing some of the most spectacular attacks in the heart of Afghanistan against U.S., NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions...
and Afghan cops, as well as civilians," Roggio wrote.

Jawad took his post as deputy intelligence minister shortly after the Taliban took control of Afghanistan following the hasty withdrawal of U.S. troops from the country.

According to The Long War Journal, he reports to Abdul Haq Wasiq, an ex-Guantanamo Bay detainee who served as the Taliban’s deputy director general of intelligence prior to the 9/11 attacks. Wasiq now serves as the director of intelligence for the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan.

US Imposes Visa Restrictions on Kabul Leaders
[ToloNews] In response to the ban on women attending university and working for NGOs in Afghanistan, the US State Department has imposed new visa restrictions on a number of current and former officials of the Islamic Emirate.

The US State Department in a press statement said that the Islamic Emirate cannot expect the respect and support of the international community until they respect the human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
and fundamental freedoms of all Afghans, including women and girls.

"I am taking action today to impose additional visa restrictions on certain current or former Taliban
...mindless ferocity in a turban...
members, members of non-state security groups, and other individuals believed to be responsible for, or complicit in, repressing women and girls in Afghanistan through restrictive policies and violence, including the Taliban’s decision to ban women from universities and from working with NGOs.  The immediate family members of such persons may also be subject to these visa restrictions, enacted under Section 212(a)(3)(C) ("3C") of the Immigration and Nationality Act," US Secretary of State Antony Blinken said in a statement.

According to the statement, after the Islamic Emirate's decision to restrict women and girls from education and work, more than a million girls have had to leave work and education.

"So far, the Taliban’s actions have forced over one million school-aged Afghan girls and young women out of the classroom, with more women out of universities and countless Afghan women out of the workforce," the press statement reads.

"With this action by the US, Western countries and other Islamic countries will also impose further restrictions on the Taliban, and the Taliban will be isolated more than this," said Wahid Faqir, international relations expert.

"This causes this situation to continue, the difficult situation, the economic constraints, and the political restrictions. In the end, it has a harmful and negative influence on the people of Afghanistan," said Janat Fahim Chakari, a political analyst.

Previously, the US State Department restricted visas for a number of current and former members of the Islamic Emirate due to the Islamic Emirate's restrictions on women's rights to employment and education.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Emirate condemned this decision of the US and said that disputes should be resolved through diplomatic means.

"IEA Ministry of Foreign Affairs considers the recent statement by the US State Department imposing visa restrictions on some leaders of the Islamic Emirate as an obstacle to the development of ties between the two sides," said Zia Ahmad Takal, deputy spokesperson of Foreign Ministry.

The US State Dept release said: "We continue to coordinate closely with allies and partners around the world on an approach that makes clear to the Taliban that their actions will carry significant costs and close the path to improved relations with the international community."

Taliban Authorities Flog 16 People for Alleged Crimes in Helmand
[KhaamaPress] Taliban

The alleged individuals accused of different crimes have been lashed in public in the Grishk district of southern Helmand province earlier today, according to the announcement made by the Taliban’s supreme court.

and values under all circumstances.

Public punishment includes flogging, stoning, and public execution, being widely exercised by Taliban officials across the country in the recent past, drawing massive criticism from the international community.

Taliban Supreme leader Hibatullah Akhundzada issued a series of decrees last November, legitimizing some strict practices which are not in line with the contemporary lifestyle of the people. Barring Afghan girls from getting secondary and higher education are clear examples, which sparked serious demonstrations in some parts of Afghanistan.

The Islamic Emirate authorities publicly shot an alleged person to death in front of a huge crowd in western Farah province on December 7, where high-ranking Taliban officials had participated to see the shooting.

Following the shooting, the United Nations Assistance Mission in Afghanistan (UNAMA) in Kabul urged the Taliban authorities to stop the death penalty
immediately. Amnesia Amnesty International also called the Taliban’s execution "cruel, inhuman and humiliating". However,
it was a brave man who first ate an oyster...
the Taliban regime continues practicing the rather harsh version of Islamic Sharia laws by re-introducing public execution in Afghanistan after more than two decades.

Chadian Mercenaries Begin Withdrawing from Libya
[LibyaReview] On Thursday, a Chadian mercenary group, known as the Union of Forces for Democracy and Development, announced its withdrawal from southern Libya.

The withdrawal comes shortly ahead of a UN-sponsored meeting regarding imported muscle stationed in Libya, who come from neighbouring Sudan, Chad, and Niger.

In a statement, the Chadian rebel group, led by General Mohammed Nouri, announced that they had begun departing from Libya into Chad. They indicated that this comes in the implementation of the terms of the Doha peace agreement. This was between the Chadian government and rebel factions, and was signed in August 2022.

Ramadan al-Tuwaijer, a Libyan legal expert, said that "all Libyans now call for the removal of all forces, and to end the presence of foreign bases in the country, without exception."

In press statements, al-Tuwaijer called for Libya to "establish balanced and strong relations with various international parties based on respect for the mutual illusory sovereignty of states and the exchange of interests."

He also highlighted the importance of Libya "taking a neutral stance towards international conflicts. This is required by the national interest and the existential security of Libya."

The withdrawal sheds light on the remaining forces of Evil deployed across the country, especially in Western Libya.

Libyan politicians believe that the issue of foreign forces and mercenaries, who have been present in Libya since 2014 has become managed by international bodies.

The UN Envoy to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, announced last week that they would hold a conference in a neighbouring country, to discuss further withdrawals.

#1  Global Security Org: UFDD - Union of Forces for Democracy and Development (UFDD) is Chad’s main rebel group - an Arab-dominated rebel group, is the largest Chadian rebel force opposed to President Deby. The group is led by Mahamat Nouri, who was a member of Deby’s cabinet until breaking with him in 2006 and launching the UFDD. The UFDD is composed of smaller armed factions including the United Front for Democratic Change (FUC), the Chadian Democratic Revolutionary Council (CDRT), and the Union of Forces for Progress and Democracy. The UFDD has several 1000 active members. The UFDD is accused of conducting joint operations with the Sudanese Janjaweed that target refugee camps in eastern Chad.
Having little recent success in Chad, UFDD decided to raise hell in Libya. The question now stands: Where will they go next? Best guess. Darfur.

London synagogue sold to Muslim group tied to antisemitic figures
The Moslem conquest continues apace.
[IsraelTimes] Founder of organization has called Jews ’Islam’s enemies’ and it hosted an antisemitic speaker; group has apologized for flyer saying the building previously housed ’non believers’
“We’re sorry you noticed. Really, we don’t hate you at all — we just talk about all unbelievers this way.”
A Moslem group buying a historic London synagogue has apologized after a leaflet seeking donations called the location "a former place of worship for non-believers."

The Pakistain-based charity Dawat-e-Islami
...Barelvi (or Ahle Sunnat) education and outreach group established in Karachi in 1981 as a charity and education outreach branch of Jamaat Ulema-e-Pakistain (JUP), originally to strengthen Pakistani Moslems against Salafism. Now in 194+ countries, their religious schools serve as another feeder to radicalism and jihad....
has said the brochure was poorly worded, and only meant to say that the previous worshipers were not of the Moslem faith.

But the sale of the Wembley Synagogue building has invited further scrutiny, with The Jewish Chronicle reporting that the organization has problematic ties to antisemitic figures.

A founder of the group, Muhammad Ilyas Attar Qadri, has called Jews "Islam’s enemies," favors boycotting Jewish products and has called not to "imitate the Jews" by shaving.

In 2021, it hosted Shaykh Asrar Rashid, a UK preacher who last year said Adolf Hitler
...late Fuehrer of Germany, founder of the Third Reich, currently communing with his pals Himmler and Heydrich. He is reincarnated every few days as a politician somebody doesn't like...
"did a favor for the Jews" by boosting European sympathies, which enabled them to establish the Jewish state. He added that the Jews at the time "of course held all the politicians in their pockets."

A former rabbi for United Synagogue, which had owned the Wembley shul since the 1930s and recently sold it to Dawat-e-Islami, told JC it was "the height of insult for the synagogue to be sold to a group which openly describes Jews as ’non-believers.'"

"This goes against the principle of having respect for members of other faiths... all avenues should be explored to stop this sale," Martin van den Bergh said.

The Campaign Against Antisemitism said it would be seeking an investigation into "the disturbing allegations that [the organization’s] Midlands branch hosted a preacher accused of claiming Hitler did Jews ’a favor’and that its founder called on Moslems to boycott Jewish goods."

United Synagogue, meanwhile, has insisted it carried out "robust due diligence processes" before deciding on the sale, and noted the group’s apology over the flyer.

"All the professional advice we received, as well as our own checks, indicated that this is a reputable and relatively large UK charity," it said.

Switzerland Grants Asylum To 4 Kurdish Refugee Children From Syria
[NPASyria] Switzerland
...home of the Helvetians, famous for cheese, watches, yodeling, and William Tell...
decided on Friday to grant asylum and residency to four Kurdish refugee children from Syria, together with their mother, who were facing deportation to Bulgaria, where they have refugee status.

This came in response to a complaint registered with the Committee on the Rights of the Child (CRC), a step applauded by the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
(UN).

The CRC is the body of 18 independent experts that monitors implementation of the Convention on the Rights of the Child by its States parties. It also monitors implementation of the Optional Protocols to the Convention, on involvement of children in armed conflict and on the sale of children, child prostitution, and child pornography.

"We welcome the timely action taken by Switzerland to suspend the children’s return to Bulgaria, in compliance with the Committee’s request for interim measures," said Ann Skelton, committee member.

The children, now aged 10 to 14, were born to a teenage mother and victim of sexual violence who was forced into marriage at the age of 11.

The family fled the civil war in Syria in early 2017. They arrived in Bulgaria and were granted asylum in August of the same year. Nonetheless, they were expelled from the asylum camp without access to education and health care and were forced to beg for food on the streets.

Three months later, they left Bulgaria to seek asylum in Germany, where the mother was granted protection measures in 2019 as the father continued to be extremely violent mostly peaceful.

Fearing her husband, the mother took the children to Switzerland to seek asylum once again but failed. In August 2020, the Swiss State Secretariat for Migrations ordered the family to be deported to Bulgaria, where they had already been recognized as refugees.

The mother and children brought their petition to the Committee on the Rights of the Child after the Administrative Federal Court of Switzerland had dismissed their appeal.

In accordance with the Optional Protocol to the Convention on the Rights of the Child on communications procedure, the Committee requested Switzerland to adopt interim measures to suspend the deportation pending the Committee’s consideration of the complaint.

Since then, the Swiss authorities reopened the cases of the four children and their mother and eventually recognized them as refugees. Given that the family is no longer at risk of being expelled to Bulgaria, the Committee decided to discontinue the examination of the complaint on Jan. 25, 2023.

Italian Minister Says Italy will not Become Migrant Hub
[LibyReview] Italian Minister of Parliamentary Relations, Luca Ciriani announced his rejection of Italia being a destination for migrants colonists coming from North Africa, according to the Italian news agency, AKI.

In press statements, the minister said that "Italia cannot be a destination for all migration flows coming from North Africa. As we have repeatedly said to our European partners, and it is an issue that must include all of Europe."

Ciriani added that "Africa should not be exploited. On the contrary, it needs help. The plan, which the Prime Minister spoke about, comes with Algeria and Libya."

He noted that "the real tragedy is the people who depart from the coasts of Africa, and then die at sea."

On Thursday, Italia’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations
...aka the Oyster Bay Chowder and Marching Society...
, Maurizio Massari said that "Libya remains an absolute priority in Italia’s foreign policy."

In an interview with the Italian ’La Voce Di New York’ daily newspaper, Massari said Italia has an absolutely central diplomatic role in Libya. He pointed out, "Our approach is to support a political solution that is shared by Libyans, and the various regions of Libyan territory, with the mediation of the United Nations."

"For us, the United Nations is the only truly honest broker. The major European countries, after 2011, have taken different paths in Libya, by implementing policies that have not served the interests of stabilizing the country," he noted.

The Italian diplomat stressed the need to avoid external interference, which only delays the formation of the internal Libyan framework.

"We fully support the Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General to Libya, Abdoulaye Bathily, who has been there a few months, but we believe he’s doing an important job," he added.

Massari highlighted the importance of holding elections this year, "so we trust that Bathily, within a month or two at the most, can present his roadmap here in the Security Council, so as to be able to indicate the conditions for elections in Libya. With the rules of the game shared by all actors, we are very ready to lend a hand to Bathily in his work aimed at leading the North African country to stability."

"So the times for postponements are over, and a precise roadmap for the elections will soon be needed," he stressed.

Turkey claims closure of foreign missions in Istanbul ‘intentional’
“Nice citizens o’yourn ya got visiting our fair land. Sure would be a shame if something bad happened to them.”
[Rudaw] Ottoman Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on Friday claimed that the Western countries’ recent closure of their consulates in Istanbul and the issuance of travel warnings were "intentional."

The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
’s refusal to greenlight the NATO
...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. It's headquartered in Belgium. That sez it all....
membership of Sweden and Finland unless they meet Ankara’s demands has caused diplomatic tensions. This was followed by protests in both Nordic countries last month in which copies of the Holy Koran were burned in front of Ottoman Turkish embassies in Stockholm and Copenhagen.

Some Western countries have recently closed their consulates in Istanbul and others, like Germany and US, have instead warned their citizens against visiting tourist hotspots in the city, fearing that Islamic groups could launch retaliatory attacks against them.

Cavusoglu said during a joint presser with his Argentinian counterpart Santiago Cafiero in Istanbul that some consulates have temporarily stopped all services while others have issued security warnings, adding that the Western countries claim that there is "terrorist threat" against them.

"If there is a terrorist threat, especially against our allies, shouldn't they let us know where this threat originated from? They tell us, 'we have concrete information, there is a threat, so we are closing it'. So who did it come from, where, who will do it? There is no information. They must transmit this correct information to our security units and intelligence units, and if there is such a threat, it must be eliminated before it turns into an attack," the Ottoman Turkish minister said, reported state media.

Cavusoglu confirmed that his country on Thursday summoned the ambassadors and top representatives of nine Western countries to express its condemnation of their decisions.

Ottoman Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu on Thursday slammed the Western countries for closing their move, seeing it as a step to target Turkey’s tourism sector.

Yazidis In Canada ‘Heartbroken And Betrayed’ Over ISIS Repatriations
[NPASyria] Yazidis who escaped ISIS’ genocide to Canada share their dismay at the federal government’s decision to repatriate 23 ISIS-linked nationals from camps and prisons in northeast Syria.

Two weeks ago, Canada’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs had unveiled plans to repatriate four men, six women, and 13 children from northeast Syria.

This came after families of the detained Canadians successfully argued in Federal Court that the Liberal government’s long-standing refusal to repatriate their family members amounted to a "breach of the Charter of Rights and Freedoms [in Canada]."

"When I first heard the news, I felt the strength leave my body," Huda Ilyas, one of around 1.200 Yazidi refugees living in Canada told the state broadcaster CBC, "I was heartbroken and terrified [...] they had promised to protect us [...] they are offering the same entryway for these very people who raped and tortured us on a daily basis."

Advocates for repatriation say that there is no proof tying Canadians in northeast Syria to ISIS.

That is precisely what Yazidi survivors of ISIS worry about. "[Canadian officials] know in most cases that these folks will not face trial. The evidence is not here and the witnesses aren’t here. They are giving a free pass for their part in genocide and terrorism," Jamileh Naso, president of the Canadian Yazidi Association said. Yazidis worry about being recognized and targeted by the returnees.

While the crimes of men in ISIS, such as the Canadian-born ’Jihadi Jack’, who will be repatriated with the bunch, are well-documented, many outsiders still see foreign ISIS women as unwilling accomplices, or worse, victims themselves.

"That is not the case," said Huda, adding, "The women were worse than the ISIS fighters. The women would beat us constantly. They would refuse to feed us. I would usually get beaten with a cable by the wives of the ISIS fighters, and they would laugh at me, they would spit at me, they would kick me, and that was on a daily basis. And then when their husband would come, he would rape me."

Adding insult to injury, many Yazidi refugees are still waiting to be repatriated with their own surviving family members. In some cases, Yazidis are still being held as slaves in Hawl camp in northeast Syria, which houses more than 50.000 detainees.

"We don’t believe the government truly understands," Huda noted. She thinks the Canadian government’s actions betray their ’naiveté’ regarding the issue of ISIS returnees.

"If you have questions about what women and girls had to face, how they were tied up and treated like slaves, how were they were sold, how 10-year-olds were raped, how girls were ripped from their mothers’ arms and taken into separate rooms and they could hear them being raped. If you want to hear about why we should keep people like that out, you can come talk to me."

#5  Chris, exactly. If the US actually followed the Geneva Convention Lindh would have been tried and executed as an illegal combatant years ago.

#6  If ever there was a candidate for "extreme prejudice" rendition, he would have been the guy. The Spann Star on the Agency Wall includes in part this guys fingerprints. That he met with an ISIS mutt and is still out free, gives testimony to how deep the rot has become in the EFFBEEYE. A local on the JTTF could undoubtedly find something to put him back in a state cage somewhere, hopefully in the GenPop with a large Aryan Nations contingent....

India-Pakistan
Chinese nationals asked to hire private firms for security
[Dawn] After an increase in terrorism incidents in the country,
...TTP and related or the Balochis, I guess...
ithe Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

Home Department has directed the Chinese nationals living in the province or working with private companies to hire private security companies of A category for their security.
“So sorry, China dudes — you’re on your own. Peeps round here just be like that, yo!”
For my own curiosity: what is A category security?
The home department and police held a meeting on Thursday to review the security of the Chinese nationals working on government and private projects in the province.

In 2014, the Punjab government had established the Special Protection Unit (SPU) as a dedicated unit for the security of foreigners working at different projects of national importance. As many as 3,336 security constables, 187 drivers, 20 wireless operators, 244 former army personnel in the rank of senior security constable to chief security officer and seven former army officers in the rank of additional director & deputy director were recruited in the SPU.

Keeping in view the job requirement, the personnel were imparted six months rigorous training at four police training schools by the professional trainers.

Presently, 3,829 officers and personnel of the SPU along with 2,552 attached personnel from districts are providing security to 7,567 Chinese working at four CPEC and 27 non-CPEC projects in the province. They are also providing security to the Chinese residing at 70 residences and 24 camps in the province.

SPU DIG Agha Yousuf told Dawn that due to an increase in terror incidents in the country, the security of the Chinese officials working on government projects had been beefed up further.

He said the SPU was deployed for the security of the Chinese nationals working only on the CPEC and other government-related projects and added that the Chinese nationals working with private projects or visiting the country on their own were directed to hire security companies for their security.

He said there were hundreds of Chinese nationals who were working with private companies and steps were being taken to ensure their security.

"The government also has established the standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the Chinese nationals have been directed to hire A category security companies for their security," he said.

Mr Yousuf added that the government was paying for the security of the Chinese nationals working on government projects but they could not deploy SPU personnel everywhere and the government could not pay for the security of Chinese nationals working with private companies.

He said the Chinese nationals working with private companies or running their personal business would have to hire their own security and the home department would evaluate the company.

#3  It seems like hiring Chinese firms to do governmental projects makes little sense based on the border issues between the countries. Having them hire Chinese security would have an obvious downside.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
PA: Israel held $78 million from monthly tax revenues collected on Ramallah’s behalf
[IsraelTimes] Paleostinians say unusually high sum a result of Smotrich decision to double deductions over payments to security prisoners, as PA’s finances further deteriorate
The minute the Palestinian Authority (Yasser Arafat’s PLO prettied up to pretend it isn’t made up entirely of olde fidayeen) stops paying murderers and attempted murderers to murder, they’ll get all that lovely money dropped right in their laps. Until then, the cost will keep rising, because some people won’t learn until they actually pee on the electric fence.
The Paleostinian Authority Finance Ministry claimed on Thursday that Israel had deducted NIS 267 million ($78 million) from the monthly tax revenues it collects on Ramallah’s behalf, in the latest blow to the PA’s deteriorating economic situation.

The ministry attributed the unusually high deduction to Israeli Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich’s decision to double the amount of Paleostinian tax revenues that Israel would seize, though this still did not fully explain the amount.

Far-right Israeli minister probes legality of US returning looted artifact to Palestinians
[IsraelTimes] Heritage minister Amichai Eliyahu calls to examine transfer of ivory spoon seized from collection of US Jewish billionaire Michael Steinhardt, says he’ll give Antiquities Authority control over West Bank archaeology

An ivory spoon dating back 2,700 years that was recently repatriated to the Paleostinian Authority from the United States has sparked a dispute with Israel’s new hard-right government over the cultural heritage in the West Bank.

The clash brings into focus the political sensitivities surrounding archaeology in the Middle East, where Israelis and Paleostinians each use ancient artifacts to support their claims over the land.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
ISIS-Linked Mothers To 10 Canadian Children Cannot Be Returned – Canada
[NPASyria] Global Affairs Canada, the country’s diplomatic body, has told four ISIS-linked women being held in Syria that they will have to decide whether to send their children to Canada or remain together at their current location.

According to a Canadian newspaper, the four women are neither Canadians nor Syrians, but of an undisclosed third nationality, while their 10 children are all Canadian-born.

According to the women’s lawyer, they have a week and a half to decide whether to send their children away or remain together at a holding camp in Syria.

Global Affairs Canada has excluded bringing the women back.

Their Canadian lawyer is appealing the decision. "The hope is that the mothers will be able to obtain temporary residence permits [in Canada], either through the federal government or, if necessary, by court order," their lawyer said.

Recently, a Canadian court ordered the repatriation of a number of the country’s citizens from camps and prisons in North and East Syria (NES), including ISIS-linked men.

Though unspecified, the women and their children are likely being held in one of NES’ holding camps for ISIS women and their children. al-Hawl camp, the region’s largest camp, alone houses over 50.000 individuals.
