More on the arrest of a notorious Al-Shabaab arms smuggler
More on this story from yesterday.
[Garowe] The National Intelligence Security Agency [NISA], Somalia's spy agency, has arrested one of the most notorious al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
arms smugglers, in the latest move which could significantly help security forces in dealing with a resurgence of al-Shabaab bully boyz in the country.

Zakariya Kamala Sufi Abasheikh was arrested on Friday by the sleuths after being on the radar for some time, and his arrest boosts security forces in the fight against al-Shabaab. He is believed to be having contacts with senior al-Shabaab Death Eaters.

In a statement, NISA accused Zakaria of collaborating with al-Shabaab to inflict suffering on the people of Somalia, particularly innocent civilians who have been a major target in the fight against al-Shabaab. Thousands of civilians have been killed in the war.

"We have apprehended Sakaria Kamal, better known as Saki, who held utmost significance as the individual responsible for procuring weaponry and explosives from foreign sources solely to arm the Kharijite adversary and inflict harm upon the innocent Somali people," NISA wrote in a statement.

Reports indicate Zakariya was on bail in Kenya's coastal city of Mombasa where he was arrested over links to a cache of weapons three months ago. His lawyer Jared Magolo appealed to the High Court in Mombasa to help in producing his client Zakariya Kamala Sufi Abasheikh who was arrested in April this year by Kenyan police.

According to the lawyer, he had tried to seek answers from the Anti-Terrorism Police Unit [ATPU] without success on his whereabouts. Zakariye was on a $6,770 cash bail and was due to appear in Shanzu law courts on September 22nd this year.

"I have made enquiries and visited the ATPU offices at the regional headquarters, but Abasheikh is nowhere to be found and the officers are not giving any information," said Magolo.

"The family and friends are worried about his safety. I am therefore compelled to seek orders for his appearance in court or his release," Magolo said in the document filed before Justice Ann Ong’injo.

At the time NISA announced his arrest, the government of Kenya had been given two weeks to produce him. Some of the weapons seized at the port of Mogadishu include five advanced JS crop drones, capable of carrying 10 litres of liquid up to 500 metres above sea level and covering an area of 10 hectares.

Furthermore, authorities in Somalia announced that they had also seized rifle scopes, materials for military uniforms, canvas for tents, night vision goggles, swim goggles, voice recording pens, spy goggles and watches, military-grade two-way radios, helmets, ghillie suits portable solar panels, flashlights and batteries.

A report by the United Nations
...boodling on the grand scale...
shows that al-Shabaab is capable of generating $120 million annually as revenue mainly through extortion. Of this amount, the report adds, $24 million goes to the purchase of weapons mainly from Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
, a country in the Middle East which has been ungovernable for the last decade.

Nigerian Bishops Say Anti-Christian Insurgents Have Taken Over Their Country
[PJMedia] Nigerian Catholic bishops are sounding the alarm on violent mostly peaceful anti-Christian Lions of Islam virtually taking over the country. Nigeria is one of the most dangerous places in the world for Christians, with more than two decades of Islamic terrorism against Christians leaving tens of thousands dead and many millions more displaced.

Radical Moslem groups continue to cause chaos and death in Nigeria. Catholic outlet Crux reported on Sept. 27, "With a Christian being slain every two hours for their faith, Nigeria has the unsavory distinction of being the world’s greatest persecutor of Christians, according to Christian persecution watchdog Open Doors." That is based on 2021 data, which showed that over 80% of all Christians killed for their faith globally that year were Nigerian. Crux highlighted the ongoing crisis:

Catholic bishops in Africa’s most populous nation have warned that Nigeria effectively has been taken over by bully boys, militia and criminal gangs, with Christians, including Catholic priests, among the most frequent victims.

At the end of their Second Plenary Meeting, held at a hotel in the capital area of Abuja Sept. 7-15, the bishops denounced widespread violence and chaos in Nigeria, a situation they said is compounded by rising economic unease and lack of political transparency.

According to the bishops, insecurity "has remained a persistent problem in our country as bully boys, herdsmen militia, bandidos, and so-called ’unknown button men’ have continued to unleash terror in different parts of the country." Catholic clergy and other Christians continue to be kidnapped for ransom. Crux cited global research firm SB Morgan Intelligence, which says that 30 Catholic priests were kidnapped, while at least 39 priests were killed in 2022.

While some outlets that report on this problem refuse to explain the religious motivation behind the violence, radical Islamic groups are driving much of it (if not nearly all of it). The U.S. Commission on International Religious Freedom issued a report last September detailing aspects of the crisis of religious persecution in Nigeria.

In Nov. 2022, The Christian Post cited watchdog International Society for Civil Liberties and Rule of Law and others to report on the years of devastating Islamic violence in Nigeria. The two-decade-long corpse count was estimated at 60,000 Christians, with an estimated 10 million more displaced between July 2009 and July 2021.

The violence from various Islamic groups, including Islamic State

herdsmen, continued unabated in 2022. Christian Post reported that Moslem jihadis killed "at least 4,000 Christians and abduct[ed] more than 2,300 other Christians" just in the first ten months of 2022. As of now, based on what the Catholic bishops said, these violent mostly peaceful snuffies appear to have completely overrun the entire country.

Musk wades into German political debate over migrant ‘invasion’
[IsraelTimes] Billionaire reposts article on German efforts to save migrants colonists in the Mediterranean with call for far-right party to win regional elections, is rebuked by Berlin

Billionaire Elon Musk on Saturday waded into German politics at a time of a heated debate on immigration across Europe, saying Berlin-funded migrant rescue operations in the Mediterranean could be seen as an "invasion" of Italia.

Musk, who was born in South Africa, has Canadian nationality and lives in the United States, shared a post calling for a victory of the far-right party AfD a week before regional elections in two major German states.

Berlin is locked in a row with Italia over the NGO sea operations, with Italian Prime Minister Giorgio Meloni on Friday demanding that charity ships disembark the rescued migrants colonists in their own countries.

Musk shared a post on X by a user identified as "Radio Genoa" that blasted German NGO operations in the Mediterranean and expressed hope that "AfD wins the elections to stop this European suicide," referring to the upcoming polls.

To Musk’s question if the "German public is aware of this," the German foreign ministry replied curtly: "Yes. And it’s called saving lives."

The foreign ministry’s answer prompted the social media platform’s boss to intensify his criticism, writing in another post early Saturday: "Frankly, I doubt that a majority of the German public supports this."

"Have you run a poll? Surely it is a violation of the illusory sovereignty of Italia for Germany to transport vast numbers of illegal immigrants colonists to Italian soil? Has invasion vibes," Musk added.

Meloni recently wrote a letter of complaint to German Chancellor Olaf Scholz to express her "amazement" about Berlin funding charities helping irregular migrants colonists in her country.

Asked about the letter, Berlin confirmed that it was providing between 400,000 euros and 800,000 euros each to two projects relating to migrants colonists.
So under €1.6 million altogether. That’s a lot of money when Germany’s voters will sit in the cold and dark again this winter while their economy grinds to a halt...
The projects were "for the support on land in Italia of people rescued at sea and an NGO project for sea-rescue operations."
On the other hand, had those sea rescues not occurred, the rescued people would not have needed all that support. In some circles this is referred to as philosophy.
At a presser this week following talks with her Italian counterpart, Germany’s Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock defended Berlin’s backing of rescue missions.

"Volunteer sea rescuers have a life-saving task in the Mediterranean," she said.

"They are committed to countering the deaths in the Mediterranean with humanity, precisely because the European joint sea rescue service Mare Nostrum no longer exists," she added, referring to the Italian government’s year-long operation that rescued more than 100,000 migrants colonists before ending in 2014.
That was a project of a previous government, and a large part of the reason why Mrs. Meloni is now prime minister.
More than 130,000 migrants colonists have arrived on Italia’s shores so far this year, almost double the number last year, according to interior ministry figures.

In Germany too, new arrival numbers have risen sharply, prompting Berlin to announce Wednesday that it would step up policing of its borders with Poland and the Czech Republic, in a bid to stop people smugglers.

Ahead of regional elections on October 8 in the states of Bavaria and Hesse, immigration has also emerged as a key topic, with Bavarians citing it as the most important subject in a latest poll.

186,000 migrants and refugees arrived in southern Europe so far this year, most in Italy, UN says
[AlAhram] The U.N. refugee agency said Thursday that some 186,000 migrants colonists and refugees arrived in southern Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
so far this year, the vast majority in Italia.

Between January and Sept. 24, over 2,500 people seeking to cross the Mediterranean were found dead or are still missing, a significant increase from the 1,680 people who died or were missing during the same period in 2022, Ruven Menikdiwela, director of the New York office of the U.N. High Commissioner for Refugees, told the U.N. Security Council.

The UNHCR estimates that over 102,000 refugees and migrants colonists from Tunisia — a 260 percent increase from last year— and over 45,000 from Libya tried to cross the central Mediterranean to Europe between January and August, she said.

Some 31,000 people were rescued at sea or intercepted, and disembarked in Tunisia while 10,600 disembarked in Libya, Menikdiwela said.

The majority of migrants colonists and refugees who made it to southern Europe arrived in Italia— over 130,000, an increase of 83 percent compared to the same period in 2022, she said. The others landed in Greece, Spain, Cyprus and Malta.

Menikdiwela told a council meeting called by Russia on migration to Europe that the high departure rates from Tunisia "result from the perception of insecurity among refugee communities, following incidents of racially motivated attacks and hate speech, as well as collective expulsions from Libya and Algeria."

UNHCR faces restrictions in Libya where it has registered 50,000 refugees and asylum seekers and "the conditions of thousands of refugees and migrants colonists in both official and unofficial detention facilities.... remain of grave concern," she said.

The UNHCR figures she quoted were similar to those presented by Par Liljert, director of the International Office for Migration’s office to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
He also highlighted "the dire conditions facing migrants colonists and refugees" seeking to cross the Mediterranean.

"Recent IOM data demonstrates that from January to September 2023, more than 187,000 individuals crossed the Mediterranean in pursuit of a better future and the promise of safety," Liljert told the council. "Tragically, during this same period, IOM recorded 2,778 deaths with 2,093 of them occurring along the treacherous central Mediterranean route," which is the most dangerous.

"Yet, despite its clear dangers, in 2023 there has been an increase in arrivals to Greece along this route of over 300 percent, while the number of arrivals in Spain has remained steady, primarily through the Atlantic route to the Canary Islands as compared to the numbers recorded at the same time last year," he said.

IOM also witnessed a significant increase in arrivals to Italia, with 130,000 so far this year compared to around 70,000 in 2022.

Keep on Moving on the Balkan Route: No quarter for Afghan asylum seekers in Croatia and Serbia
[AfghanistanAnalysts] The number of Afghan refugees moving along the Balkan Route has remained very high this summer. A large proportion of those taking the long trip to central, western and northern Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
are in their early twenties and many are under-age. From The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
, they usually cross Greece and Bulgaria in order to reach Serbia. Once there, most opt for the ’Western Balkan route’ leading through Bosnia, Croatia, Slovenia and finally Italia — where routes for further possible destinations split once again. Among these countries, Croatia became, in January 2023, the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
’s foremost external border facing the Balkan Route, while non-EU Serbia, remains a midway staging point for migrants colonists, beyond the EU borders yet conveniently close to their final destinations. During a recent visit to Croatia and Serbia, and through long-term observation from the vantage point of Trieste, the Italian city close to Croatia and Slovenia to which one of the western branches of the Balkan Route leads, AAN’s Fabrizio Foschini has sought to understand what is happening to Afghans transiting through these two, very diverse, yet closely connected, countries.

A jacket wallah Friday targeted people gearing up for a procession related to Eid Miladun Nabi — the birth anniversary of Prophet Muhammad (PTUI!) — near a mosque in the Mastung district.

"Such incidents of terrorism on 12 Rabi al-Awwal depict the ill intent of the khawarij, who have the backing of state sponsors of terrorism," the army chief said, according to a statement from the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

The ISPR mentioned that the army chief visited Quetta, where he was briefed on recent terrorist attacks in Mastung and Zhob.

Turkey deports over 16,000 individuals to Syria within month
[NPASyria] On Saturday, Ottoman Turkish authorities deported 600 Syrian refugees, including women and kiddies, through the Tel Abyad and Bab al-Hawa border crossings in northern Syria. The total number of deportees during September exceeded 16,000 individuals, including people of non-Syrian nationality.

On Monday, the Ottoman Turkish authorities deported a Moroccan tourist claiming that he was Syrian. Prior to that, they had deported three Moroccans, an Algerian woman, and two Afghanis, as part of their campaign to deport Syrian refugees from their territory under the pretext of voluntary return.

An administrative source at Tel Abyad border crossing stated to North Press that the Ottoman Turkish authorities handed over about 120 Syrian refugees to Ottoman Turkish-backed factions of the Syrian National Army (SNA) via the Tel Abyad crossing, north of Raqqa.

The Ottoman Turkish-backed factions transferred the deportees to shelters where they will be investigated.

As for HTS, which controls much of northwestern Syria, it received 800 Syrian refugees, including women and their children, according to administrative sources at the Bab al-Hawa crossing.

The sources indicated that the deportation process took place after the Ottoman Turkish authorities collected all personal identification documents of the refugees. The authorities also took their biometric data to ensure that they would not return to Ottoman Turkish territory.

The sources in the two border crossings said that the number of the Syrian deportees since the beginning of September exceeded 16,000.

Turkey deports 80 refugees to northern Syria including Iraqis on Friday

[NPASyria] Turkish authorities deported on Friday 80 Syrian refugees, including Iraqis, through Tel Abyad border crossing with Turkey in the northern countryside of Raqqa, which is under the control of Turkish-backed armed opposition factions, aka the Syrian National Army (SNA).

An administrative source in the crossing told North Press that the Turkish authorities forcibly deported 80 Syrian refugees, including three Iraqi nationals and 15 women, from Turkey to the countryside of Raqqa.

On Sep.28, the Turkish authorities deported 800 Syrian refugees, including women and their children through Tel Abyad, Bab al-Hawa, and Bab al-Salama border crossings in northern Syria.

Turkey deports 800 Syrian refugees to northern Syria Thursday

[NPASyria] Turkish authorities deported on Thursday 800 Syrian refugees, including women and their children via Tel Abyad, Bab al-Hawa, and Bab al-Salam border crossings in northern Syria.

Administrative sources at the three crossings told North Press that the Turkish authorities deported more than 800 Syrian refugees, including women and their children, through the three crossings and handed them to Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and to the Turkish-backed Military Police of the Syrian National Army (SNA).

The sources added that SNA received around 135 Syrians via Tel Abyad border crossing, northern Raqqa, and 170 others via Bab al-Salama border crossing in the countryside of Aleppo, as they transferred to shelters where they will be investigated.

As for HTS, which controls much of northwestern Syria, it received 495 Syrian refugees, including women and their children, according to administrative sources at the Bab al-Hawa crossing.

IRGC reinforces posts in Syria’s Deir ez-Zor
[NPASyria] Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has reinforced its headquarters and established new ones in Deir ez-Zor Governorate, eastern Syria.

This came following recent and ongoing attacks by unknown button men on the IRGC’s headquarters and affiliated militias, with accusations pointing towards the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. (ISIS).

The IRGC established three new headquarters and protection posts today in Abu Kamal area and two posts on the Syrian-Iraqi border, a hard boy of the IRGC in Deir ez-Zor said on Friday.

The IRGC established two headquarters and five posts two days ago on the outskirts of al-Mayadin and its countryside in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, equipped with surveillance cameras, the unnamed hard boy added.

He emphasized that the IRGC strengthened its posts with snuffies of foreign nationalities and advanced weapons, and created fortifications and trenches for the headquarters and posts.

This operation was to reinforce and support the bases after several attacks on the headquarters by button men believed to be affiliated with ISIS, resulting in significant human and material losses of the IRGC.

On the context of events ongoing in Deir ez-Zor, two soldiers of the Syrian government forces were killed in the past 24 hours in the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor.

A soldier of the government forces in Deir ez-Zor said unidentified button men riding a cycle of violence targeted Hassan Badr, 32, a member of the Military Security Branch working in the Archive and Military Records Department, with silenced pistol shots as he left his workplace on the main road in the town of Shumaytiyah, west of Deir ez-Zor.

In the eastern countryside of Deir ez-Zor, and after Friday Prayers, unidentified armed individuals attacked a Military Security patrol near al-Arba’in Street in the city center of al-Mayadin, resulting in the killing of the soldier Ali al-Sarah, 30, and causing material damage to the patrol’s vehicles, meanwhile the attackers fled the city.

12th Turkish military convoy enters Syria’s Idlib in September
[NPASyria] The Ottoman Turkish forces sent on Friday a new military convoy comprising logistical and military equipment to the de-escalation zone in northwest Syria. This marked the twelfth convoy since the beginning of the current month.

The Ottoman Turkish forces are deployed in over 60 military posts and bases in areas controlled by Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else

Front) in northwest Syria since their direct intervention in the region in 2018.

The Ottoman Turkish convoy included more than 18 military and logistical vehicles and armored vehicles that entered Syrian territory through Kafr Lossin border crossing and headed to the Ottoman Turkish posts in Zawiya Mountain, south of Idlib, a leader of the National Front for Liberation told North Press.

The National Front for Liberation is one of the factions affiliated with the Syrian National Army (SNA) and one of the factions aligned, with Hayat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS), within al-Fateh al-Mubin Operations Room, which includes bully boy groups.

The convoy included 14 armored vehicles with four trucks carrying ammunition and logistical supplies. It is believed that the objective is to strengthen Ottoman Turkish posts near the frontlines with the Syrian government forces, south of Idlib, the leader noted.

The Ottoman Turkish forces have sent more military reinforcements to Idlib since the beginning of this year, with around 12 military convoys entering Syria during this month. They have also repositioned many of their posts.
