California cafe staff seen barring Jewish woman from bathroom where she wanted to film anti-Israel graffiti
[IsraelTimes] Employees at a cafe in Oakland, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, were filmed in recent days denying a customer said to be Jewish from using the bathroom at their shop.

The female patron of Farley’s East was said to have complained to the staff about anti-Israel messages graffitied inside the bathroom and then wanted to go inside again to film the messages but was blocked from doing so by a staff member with blue hair.

"We’ve given you all of your food... I know Israel loves taking private property and saying it’s their own, but we got ahead," a second employee is heard telling the female patron filming the interaction on her phone. "We have a right to refuse service."

"Currently, this is a private property," says a third staff member. "You’re also misgendering them, so I need you to leave."

"You’re not going to let me go into the restroom?" the customer asks repeatedly.

A fourth employee then tells the customer that she is allowed to use another restroom in the cafe if she would like.

The customer insists on using the bathroom with graffiti inside. "I should not be excluded when other people are allowed," she says.

"All you’re going to get is a video of us saying that ’Zionism is antisemitism’ because it is," says the third employee.

"If you agree with [the graffiti], why are you afraid that I take a picture of it?" the customer responds.

The staff then acquiesce and allows the patron into the bathroom.

She films herself walking inside where the phrase "Zionism = fascism
...a political system developed in Italy, symbolized by the Roman fasces -- thin reeds, each flimsy in itself but unbreakable when bound into a bundle. Its distinguishing philosophical feature is the Corporate State. The word is nowadays thrown around by all sorts of people who have no idea what they're talking about...
" is daubed on the mirror and "neutrality... is enabling genocide. Free Paleostine" is graffitied on the baby changing station.

"History didn’t start in 1948, lady," says the second employee, apparently referring to the year in which Israel was established.

"Free Paleostine. Now please go," the third staffer chimes in.

As the incident began going viral, Farley’s East issued a statement on social media in which it apologized for the incident, characterized the graffiti in the bathroom as "hate speech," said that it had been removed, that the chain is not antisemitic and that "corrective measures would be taken."
So the employees have been fired? Because clearly they are not temperamentally suited for working in a service job.

while others backed the terror group’s right to use violence against Israel.
The 1:35-long video has more than 7 million views and 8,500 retweets on X.

Farley’s East apologized in a Facebook post published on Wednesday. The post referred to the graffiti as “hate speech.” Read the full apology below:

“Dear Community, In response to the recent incident at our family-owned cafe, we want to offer an acknowledgement [sic] and a sincere apology. As context, hate speech graffiti was written in our bathroom. We do not support hate speech; this does not reflect our values. After a customer used the bathroom and wished to return to document the graffiti, they were initially denied access and then allowed to enter the bathroom to film the graffiti. We apologize for this error and the distress caused to the customer. We’ve taken corrective measures with our staff and removed the offensive graffiti. We’re not anti-Semitic; we value diversity and inclusivity. We’re committed to ongoing staff training for a safe and welcoming environment. Thank you for understanding that we are a small business doing our best to operate a community business in a difficult environment.”
The vicious idiots continue to be employed, then.
Jweekly has more:
The Anti-Defamation League told J. on Thursday that the woman filed an incident report with the ADL. The anti-hate organization tracks incidents of “antisemitism, extremism, bias, bigotry or hate.”

The video quickly gained traction, amassing over 2.6 million views before StopAntisemitism.org removed it from X (Twitter) at the customer’s request. Copies of the video have since circulated online and gained over 5.4 million views.

The watchdog group called for the firing of all three employees, calling the incident “inexcusable.” Another group, the Shirion Collective, which touts itself as a “Jewish surveillance collective” that uses an AI agent (named Maccabee) to scrape the internet for “digital fingerprints” to “aggressively track and expose antisemites,” has gotten involved. The Shirion Collective, which was started a month ago, has doxxed two of the employees on X by posting identifying information including their names, addresses, phone numbers and names of suspected relatives.

Levine offered Farley’s East antisemitism resources available through ADL.

Farley’s, which also has a location in San Francisco, is a family-owned business whose slogan is “serving coffee and community.” The phrase “you belong here” is printed on their to-go cups. The coffee shop has also shown public support for the Civic Joy Fund, a local nonprofit founded by Jewish community activists Manny Yekutiel and Daniel Lurie. Yekutiel, who was referred to as “our good friend Manny” by Farley’s on Instagram, was with his family in Israel during the Oct. 7 attack.

Farley’s East has not provided further details on the actions taken against the involved employees.

Oh no, NN2N1. The café is merely aganst that evil Zionist state, as all right-thinking Progressives must be. The fact that the owner has to say things to placate the baying mob of fascist Israel lovers just makes the nobility of the baristas that much more apparent. History didn’t start in 1948, as the one gentleman pointed out.

The Paleostinian Authority and Paleostinian Liberation Organization are the legitimate representatives of the Paleostinian people and "should be accorded the ability to govern both the West Bank and Gaza," Shoukry said during an event at the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Washington.

It was premature to discuss details of Gaza's future governance since the outcome of Israel's military campaign was uncertain, he said.

"I think we have to wait and see what is the consequences of this military operation and the conditions that exist in Gaza and then proceed to address the political relationships," Shoukry added.

Shoukry said the appropriate response from the international community would be to first call for a cessation of hostilities and then seek a political resolution of the conflict, an indirect criticism of Washington's rejection of calls for a ceasefire.

"I would like to have seen a ceasefire yesterday, actually 60 days ago," Shoukry said.

Dagestan reports the arrival of the fifth group of refugees from Palestine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Two residents of the Gaza Strip arrived in Dagestan today and were sent to a temporary accommodation center, the republican government reported.

The "Caucasian Knot" wrote that on November 21, the Dagestan authorities announced that they were ready to accept up to 200 refugees from Palestine. The republican authorities allocated 8.2 million rubles for their placement. On November 25, the first group of refugees from Palestine, consisting of about 50 people, arrived in the republic.

By November 30, three groups of Palestinians arrived in Dagestan. IDPs from Palestine will receive refugee status, the Dagestan government announced. All refugees are housed at a recreation center near Makhachkala, government officials said. Residents of Palestine who arrived in Dagestan asked to be provided with cellular communications and the Internet, as well as to issue documents; some of them intend to obtain Russian citizenship. On December 2,  the fourth group of refugees from Palestine arrived in the republic  .

Today, two more residents of the Gaza Strip were met in Dagestan; they arrived on the morning train to Makhachkala, the Dagestan government reported today in its Telegram channel.

“This is already the fifth reception of refugees organized in the region. Accompanied by employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and doctors, they went to a temporary accommodation center, where more than 150 of their fellow countrymen already live,” the message says.

As follows from the photographs attached to the message, Emergencies Ministry employees met the man and woman at the train, helped them unload their belongings and escorted them to a temporary accommodation center.

177 refugees from Palestine arrived in Chechnya in three groups; they are housed in the Gorny Klyuch health camp in the village of Avtury, Shalinsky district. The first group of Palestinians arrived in Chechnya on November 29, it consisted of 51 people, including 38 natives of Russia and 13 natives of Palestine. The head of the Ministry of Nationalities of Chechnya, Akhmed Dudayev, at a meeting with refugees from Palestine, said that refugees should maintain cleanliness and be more organized, and they  should not rush the Chechen authorities to solve their problems .

Caucasus experts Akhmet Yarlykapov and Ruslan Kutaev previously told the Caucasian Knot that the reception of immigrants from Palestine was organized in Dagestan and Chechnya on the initiative of the federal authorities. Political scientist Sergei Zhavoronkov believed that the decision to accept a small number of Palestinians was made by the authorities of the republics, since it is beneficial to their image and  will not hit the budget.

Today, 50 refugees from the Gaza Strip, including 21 children,  arrived in Kabardino-Balkaria , they are housed in a sanatorium in Nalchik. Users of the social network noted that it is appropriate to accept refugees when the republic’s own problems have been solved, users of the Instagram* public pointed out in connection with the arrival of refugees from Palestine in Nalchik. Their opponents considered such statements unacceptable and expressed their readiness to help the Palestinians.

Arizona Sheriff: Illegal Immigrants Being Handed $5,000 Visa Gift Cards, Cell Phones, And Plane Tickets
[ET via Zero] Immigrants who illegally cross the border into Arizona are being handed $5,000 in good-as-cash gift cards, along with cell phones and costly plane tickets, all of which are being paid for by the American taxpayer, according to Arizona Sheriff Mark Lamb.

Mr. Lamb, sheriff of Pinal County, Arizona, told The Epoch Times that he had been informed of the lucrative hand-out through his close sources working at the United States border.

"I was absolutely in shock when these agents came forward," said Mr. Lamb. "I had known we handed out free cell phones and plane tickets, but to give out $5,000 Visa gift cards to people who break our laws and come into our country illegally when the average American is struggling to pay their bills is just tough to swallow."

"People need to know the truth and let their representative lawmakers hear about it. This needs to end," added Mr. Lamb.

Mr. Lamb, who in April became the first Republican to announce his candidacy to challenge Sen. Kyrsten Sinema (I-Ariz.) for the United States Senate, says that the high-end gift cards, in addition to the plane tickets and cell phones, are paid through American tax dollars funneled from government agencies.

"We know they've been giving illegal immigrants money for a long time," said Mr. Lamb, who worked in the position of sheriff of Pinal County for seven years. "The government can make the claim that they aren't directly paying for it, because each dollar first goes from the government to a non-government institution like a charity before it is used to pay for the illegals."

"They are just moving the money around, but it all comes from the same place," he added.

#3  Visa Gift Cards, range in amounts up to $500.

Here we have ILLEGALS, that we are told have nothing, fleeing with the cloths on their backs to the USA for a better life, being given $5K in cards?

Having given these cards to family members ourselves. They must be activated before use.

So given the "claimed" limited "just the clots on their backs" resources of the Illegals. Then ICE or _ _ _ must be pre-activating the cards?

Then those agencies can or should be tracking who and where the $$$$ is being spent.

Which means someone could file a FOIA request to see if our US Taxpayer $$$$ is being spent here, where and on what? OR is being used to pay CARTEL Coyote mules off?

White House dodges reporter's question on Biden removing terrorist designation from Iran proxy group
[FoxNews] National Security Council spokesman John Kirby evaded a reporter's question on Thursday when asked about President Biden's decision to unlist Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen as a terrorist group.

During the daily White House press briefing, Fox News reporter Jacqui Heinrich asked Kirby whether Biden holds any "regret" for delisting the Houthis as a foreign terrorist organization, and whether the administration is reconsidering the move.

"I've already said that we are going to review that decision. We are," Kirby replied, although he gave no time frame for the review.

White House scrambles to distance itself from Islamic group after leader's praise for Hamas' Oct 7th slaughter
[FoxNews] White House had listed the Council on American-Islamic Relations as a group committed to combating antisemitism
The more fools they.
The White House is scrambling to distance itself from the Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR)
...one of many branches of the Muslim Brotherhood in America...
after its leader appeared to say that he was "happy" to see Palestinians in Gaza "break the siege" during Hamas' deadly Oct. 7 terrorist attack against Israel.

Nihad Awad, CAIR's executive director, is seen making the comments in a video making its rounds on social media.

"The people of Gaza only decided to break the siege, the walls of the concentration camp on Oct. 7," Awad says in the video, which quickly went viral on social media. "And yes, I was happy to see people breaking the siege and throwing down the shackles of their own land and walk free into their land that they were not allowed to walk in."

"And yes, the people of Gaza have the right to self-defense, have the right to defend themselves," he added. "And yes, Israel, as an occupying power, does not have that right to self-defense."

After being contacted regarding the comments, a White House spokesperson told Fox News Digital they are removing the group from its publicly listed pledge to fight antisemitism.
Somebody in the Biden administration still cares about such things. How odd.
The White House spokesperson said CAIR was "one of several independent organizations" listed in a supplemental document regarding the efforts and that the White House is "removing their commitment" from the record.

White House spokesperson Andrew Bates told Fox News Digital, "We condemn these shocking, Antisemitic statements in the strongest terms."

"The horrific, brutal terrorist attacks committed by Hamas on October 7th were, as President Biden said, ‘abhorrent’ and represent ‘unadulterated evil,’" Bates said.

"October 7th was the deadliest day for Jewish people since the Holocaust," he continued. "The atrocities of that day shock the conscience, which is why we can never forget the pain Hamas has caused for so many innocent people."

"There are families who are in agony mourning loves ones, and there are also families in agony as they do everything in their power to free loved ones being held hostage," Bates said. "Every leader has a responsibility to call out Antisemitism wherever it rears its ugly head."

More than six months after the announcement, Awad appeared at an American Muslims for Palestine event on Nov. 24 and made the controversial comments that led to the White House removing the group from its supplemental document on combating antisemitism.

In a lengthy statement to Fox News Digital, Awad said his comments were taken out of context by an "anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian hate website."

"During my remarks last week at a conference in support of Palestinian human rights, I condemned violence against all civilians and all forms of bigotry, specifically including Islamophobia and antisemitism," Awad said in the statement.

"Despite this, an anti-Muslim, anti-Palestinian hate website selected remarks from my speech out of context and spliced them together to create a completely false meaning," he added.

"What I actually said while discussing international law: Ukrainians, Palestinians and other occupied people have the right to defend themselves and escape occupation by just and legal means, but targeting civilians is never an acceptable means of doing so, which is why I have again and again condemned the violence against Israeli civilians on Oct. 7 and past Hamas attacks on Israeli civilians, including suicide bombings, all the way back to the 1990s—just as I have condemned the decades of violence against Palestinian civilians."

"The average Palestinians who briefly walked out of Gaza and set foot on their ethnically cleansed land in a symbolic act of defiance against the blockade and stopped there without engaging in violence were within their rights under international law; the extremists who went on to attack civilians in southern Israel were not," he continued. "Targeting civilians is unacceptable, no matter whether they are Israeli or Palestinian or any other nationality."

#1  From Steve Emerson: "· CAIR claims it does not receive funding from Saudi Arabia and other foreign sources. In a November 2001 press release, the group stated, "We do not support directly or indirectly, or receive support from, any overseas group or government." Yet the records tell a different story. To cite a few examples: "A Saudi embassy press release issued in August 1999 reported that the Islamic Development Bank, a Saudi-based entity, donated "$250,000 as a contribution to the purchase of land in Washington D.C. to be the headquarters for an education and research center under the aegis of the Council for American Islamic Relations."
In an article headlined, "US Muslims Split Over Saudi Donations," the Associated Press reported that Saudi Prince Alwaleed bin Talal had given CAIR $500,000.
CAIR has received significant financial support from the World Assembly of Muslim Youth (WAMY), a [radical] Saudi-supported group that publishes materials promoting religious hatred -- for example, advising Muslims to "teach our children to love taking revenge on the Jews and the oppressors…and make jihad for the sake of Allah." In December 1999, WAMY announced at a Riyadh press conference -- attended by [Nihad]Awad -- that it "was extending both moral and financial support to CAIR in its effort to construct a $3.5 million headquarters in Washington, D.C." (End Emerson)
To be clear, CAIR is the outreach arm of the Muslim Brotherhood in the USA.

#3  The Biden WH isn't the only WH that should "scramble."

The nonprofit, San Francisco-based Tides Foundation, has been given over $22 million for different causes. The Tides Foundation has then given millions to liberal organizations who have all organized pro-Palestinian protests, according to the Capital Research Center.

  • $650,000 to Jewish Voice for Peace

  • $710,000 to Adalah Justice Project, a pro-Palestinian group.

  • $86,000 to IfNotNow

  • $38,000 to the progressive Center for Constitutional Rights

  • $600,000 to the Mass Liberation Project, a progressive organization working to "end mass incarceration and abolish the criminal legal system."

  • $132,000 to the WESPAC Foundation, the group over Students for Justice in Palestine.

Soros' Open Society Foundations network made donations to the liberal organizations.

The Mass Liberation Project's Arizona chapter, which is a direct affiliate of the Tides Foundation, has accused the U.S. government of "ethnic cleansing of Palestinian people," and also paints Hamas in a positive light.

"We acknowledge Hamas as a legitimate political actor and democratically elected Gazan resistance working to free Palestinian people," a page on the Mass Liberation Project's Arizona chapter's website states. "We unequivocally support Palestine’s demands and acknowledge Operation Al-Aqsa Flood as a necessary step to secure Palestine’s freedom. There are not two sides to genocide. As Palestinian people resist ethnic cleansing they must have unwavering global support."

"We wholeheartedly reject the false Zionist narrative that criticism of Israel is anti-Semitism…We will not be bribed or extorted by funders or philanthropy who use anti-BDS clauses to silence our movement’s solidarity with Palestine," their website also states.

The page specifically says "We do not condemn Gazan resistance."

Jewish Voice for Peace and IfNotNow both held a protest inside the U.S. Capitol rotunda on Oct. 19, resulting in about 300 people being arrested, according to the U.S. Capitol Police.

"We were raised saying 'Never again.' Never again is right now. It's this very moment," one of the protesters told Fox News.

A spokesperson for the Open Society Foundations told Fox News they condemn Hamas and support a future that respects the rights and freedoms of all.

The Tides Foundation didn't respond to a request for comment.

J Street says it’ll withdraw support for IDF’s Gaza op sans ‘meaningful changes’
What support?
[IsraelTimes] The dovish Mideast lobby J Street
...established by the Soros Open Society Foundations as an astroturf anti-AIPAC figleaf supporting anti-Israel activities and statements by leftwing and Arab/Moslem groups and individuals, giving them the gloss of “Jewish” agreement...
says it will withdraw support for Israel’s military operation in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
against Hamas
...the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
unless major changes are made.

"If we do not see evidence soon that the government of Israel is, in fact, making meaningful changes to its conduct of the war and its attitudes regarding post-war arrangements, then J Street will no longer be able to provide our organizational support for the current military campaign," J Street says in a statement.

"While J Street maintains support of Israel’s right — and the country’s moral obligation — to respond to this attack, to defend itself and to ensure that Israeli civilians never again come under threat from Hamas’s terror stronghold in Gaza, it is very concerned with the actions of [Prime Minister Benjamin] Netanyahu’s government since fighting resumed last week."

"Since fighting restarted last week, Israeli forces have resumed large-scale bombing and again cut or significantly reduced vital aid flows. Areas designated as ’safe’ for civilians have been bombed, and rising levels of disease, hunger and death have become both strategically and morally unacceptable," the left-wing pro-Israel group adds.
Talk about moral culpability to those who set up the situation to harm Gaza’s civilians, dood: the Hamas government they elected. They’re the ones who dug tunnels crisscrossing underneath civilian housing, schools, and hospitals, and seeded weapons caches and booby traps throughout those selfsame civilian housing, schools, and hospitals. And stop pretending that you just want Israel to do impossibly better — you aren’t fooling anyone.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan to 'ascertain facts' on Afghan minister using its passport
[GEO.TV] Pakistain said Thursday it will first ascertain facts before issuing a comment on a report that claims that Afghanistan’s acting Interior Minister Sirajuddin Haqqani
...son of Pashtun warlord Jalaluddin Haqqani, still titular head of the Haqqani Network....
possessed a Pak passport until recently.

In her weekly press briefing, Foreign Office (FO) spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch said: "I have seen the report on the use of a Pak passport by the Afghan minister. The matter will be answered after [ascertaining] the facts."

A report published in The News today revealed that Haqqani was issued a Pak passport for five years which he used to travel abroad, particularly to Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
for negotiations with the United States for the signing of the Doha Agreement that resulted in the latter's exit from Afghanistan.

The publication, via the interior ministry officials, learnt that these passports were issued from different cities of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, Balochistan
...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
, and Sindh.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Big Shirley was still trying to snatch Nunzio bald-headed. She was already halfway there...
two passport officials involved in issuing Haqqani's passport have been arrested, one of whom had retired from service by the time the action was initiated against him.

The issue around the minister using the Pak passport comes at a time when Pakistain continues to repatriate illegal foreigners, most of whom are undocumented Afghan migrants colonists.

Baloch also briefed the presser about brass hats from the United States visiting Pakistain this week.

"The focus of these visits is not only Afghanistan. These visits are related to the multifaceted aspects of Pakistain-US relations," she said, adding that Pakistain has decided to talk to America.

Netanyahu to ABC News: There will be no ceasefire without the release of our hostages
[7Israel] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Monday once again rejected the idea of a ceasefire in Gaza unless hostages are released.
Good
During an interview with ABC News "World News Tonight" anchor David Muir, Netanyahu was pressed on the Biden administration's calls for humanitarian pauses in Gaza.

"There will be no ceasefire, general ceasefire, in Gaza without the release of our hostages," Netanyahu stressed. "As far as tactical little pauses, an hour here, an hour there. We've had them before, I suppose, will check the circumstances in order to enable goods, humanitarian goods to come in, or our hostages, individual hostages to leave. But I don't think there's going to be a general ceasefire."

"I think it will hamper the war effort. It'll hamper our effort to get our hostages out because the only thing that works on these criminals in Hamas is the military pressure that we're exerting," he added.

Hamas is corrupt: Gaza woman tells Al-Jazeera Hamas stealing all the aid

IDF shows receipts it says show Haniyeh’s son bought thousands of dollars of jewelry

The IDF publishes receipts found during raids on Hamas sites in the Gaza Strip that it says shows that a son of Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh bought jewelry in recent years worth thousands of dollars while many in Gaza were going hungry.

The post from IDF Arabic language spokesman AvichaynAdraee purport to show receipts from both Gaza and Qatar for purchases made by Moaz Haniyeh.

The five receipts total some $25,000.

The post notes that the “amount of just one receipt is equivalent to approximately two years’ wages for a Gaza resident.”

Israel to open Kerem Shalom Crossing for Gaza aid inspections for first time since war started
[IsraelTimes] Israel will open the Kerem Shalom Crossing with Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. for the inspection of humanitarian aid trucks for the first time since the outbreak of the war, a senior Israeli official announces.

The move, slated to be implemented in the coming days, is meant to facilitate an increase in the number of aid trucks that can enter Gaza each day. Israel currently inspects the trucks at the smaller Nitzana crossing between Israel and Egypt before they are sent to Rafah.

While Israel will use the Kerem Shalom facilities to inspect the trucks, they will still need to enter Gaza through Rafah.

The Biden administration and the broader international community have been pressuring Israel for weeks to open Kerem Shalom, previously Gaza’s main goods crossing. Since the start of the war, all aid has been entering Gaza through Egypt’s Rafah Crossing, which is meant to be primarily for pedestrians.

But the Israeli government has taken steps to disconnect from Gaza following Hamas
...a regional Iranian catspaw,...
’s October 7 terror onslaught and is also limiting the scope of aid it is allowing into Gaza so long as the hostages aren’t released or visited by the Red Thingy.

Israel has also sought to limit the amount of fuel it allows into Gaza amid fears that it will be diverted by Hamas. Still, the cabinet voted last night to allow in "minimal" amounts each day to prevent a further humanitarian crisis following US pressure.

While the decision to open Kerem Shalom to inspections doesn’t go as far as the Biden administration is aiming, a US official tells The Times of Israel that it is a step in the right direction and that Washington will continue pushing Israel to reopen the crossing for the entry and exit of aid trucks.

Col. Elad Goren, from Israel’s COGAT military liaison to the Paleostinians, tells news hounds in a briefing that even without Kerem Shalom, Israel is capable of facilitating the entry of up to 250 aid trucks each day through Egypt’s Rafah Crossing into Gaza.

Trucks arrive first in the Egyptian coastal town of El Arish, from where they are driven through Israel’s Nitzana Crossing to be inspected there by Israeli authorities. Nitzana is not designed for this purpose, though, leading to a slowed inspection process and bottlenecks of aid at this and other stages, which is why the US pushed for the use of Kerem Shalom.

Goren insists that the procedures currently in place are sufficient to allow up to 250 trucks in, and that opening Kerem Shalom is aimed at facilitating the entry of a larger number of trucks, which he says that Israel supports.

He suggests that international agencies are to blame for the limited distribution of aid.

"The problem is the capability of the UN agencies [ability] to collect all of the international assistance" after it is inspected and ensure that it makes it through Rafah, Goren says.

"We’re allowing hundreds of trucks to enter Gaza [each day]. It’s just a matter of logistics and what the UN can take and distribute inside Gaza, and we will continue to work with all the international organizations in order to increase their capabilities," he adds.

UN officials have rejected the Israeli charge, saying the IDF’s ongoing military campaign has all but handcuffed its ability to distribute aid and arguing that a long-term humanitarian ceasefire is essential.

Before the war started, roughly 500 trucks entered Gaza each day, largely through Kerem Shalom but also from Egypt’s Salah a-Din Crossing, which was believed to have been less closely inspected.

Since the war, the number of trucks entering Gaza each day has been well under 100. During a recent seven-day truce, roughly 200 trucks entered each day. That number has fallen since, with just 80 trucks and several fuel trucks entering yesterday.
