Man stabbed to death in Maryland Popeyes after altercation over chicken sandwich, police say
[FOX5DC] A fight over someone cutting in line lead to a fatal stabbing Monday night at a Maryland Popeyes.

Prince George's County Police say they received reports of a fight at a Popeyes location in the 6200 block of Livingston Road in Oxon Hill on Monday at around 7 p.m.

According to police, the fight initially began in line when a man cut in front of another man and then the altercation escalated and spilled outside where one of the men was stabbed.

"We have been able to determine, preliminarily, that this is related to the release of the sandwich here at this restaurant... this individual was in line specifically for the sale of the sandwich when another customer and he got into an altercation and that ended with the victim being stabbed outside of the business," said PGPD Director of Media Relations Jennifer Donelan late Monday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found a 28-year-old man in the parking lot suffering from stab wounds.

He was transported to a local hospital where he departed this vale of tears about an hour after the stabbing.

Police are hoping the suspect turns himself in. An investigation is underway.

#4  The rings did not weather well in Utah.
The loading propellant process for the solid fuel booster has a load procedure then a packing/compression cycle, with repeat. The compression forms variable density gradients in the fuel mix. More chloride makes for more O2 and a faster flash burn ergo more pressure. Firing of a fuel compression density ring coincident with a brittle cylinder gasket caused the blowout.

WWE Stars 'Held Hostage' On Saudi Arabia Plane By MbS
[Telegraph] WWE stars 'held hostage' on Saudi Arabia plane after dispute with crown prince, reports claim.

WWE wrestlers were "held hostage" in Saudi Arabia and stopped from boarding flights back to the US in a row over payment, according to reports.

Nearly 200 stars of the Smackdown brand and their entourage were ordered to wait on the tarmac for six hours at Riyadh International by Saudi's Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, The Mirror reported.

The prince, or MBS as he is nicknamed, was allegedly furious that Vince McMahon, World Wrestling Entertainment’s chief executive, had cancelled the live feed of the show "Crown Jewel in Saudi Arabia" because the company was owed up to $500m (£390m) for two shows in the kingdom last year.

The delay meant the wrestlers missed a live show in Buffalo, New York, the following day - with the no-show being blamed on "mechanical issues" that stopped their 747 plane leaving Riyadh.

Dave Meltzer, a US sports journalist, tweeted on Friday: "Some notes since nobody can say anything. WWE had a problem in Saudi Arabia.

"Talent was not allowed to leave on their flight and most are still there. Twenty people, twelve of which were talent, have left but the rest are still there."

Some – including Mr McMahon and stars such as Hulk Hogan and Tyson Fury – managed to get out on their own private jets.
Cheap bastards could've easily given nearly everyone a lift then ?
Mr Meltzer told the radio station, Wrestling Observer, that tensions grew when military police were sent to the airport in the capital Riyadh.

He said: "The talent felt they were hostages… nobody was harmed or anything like that. It's a really tense story."
Ever seen a 7 foot tall, 3 foot wide pro wrestler shiver in the sun ?
Former WWE announcer Hugo Savinovich posted a video on Facebook saying the reason for the flight delay was Saudi retaliation for the live feed being pulled by WWE.

WWE on Friday confirmed that wrestlers including Karl Anderson and Brian Myers, both of whom compete on "Raw," sat on the tarmac for six hours ‐ but blamed the late take-off on "mechanical issues."

The plane's owner, Atlas Air, issued a similar statement, adding that "the aircraft is being repaired and will be inspected and certified before returning to service."

Wrestlers that had been left waiting on the runway vowed never to go back. Wrestler Karl Anderson said on Twitter: "Couldn't pay me enough to go back..well, that's not true, I need a second pool, so…"

WWE launched in Saudi Arabia in 2014, with two to four shows a year in the desert kingdom.

The contests have have been held in the wake of the murder of Jamal Khashoggi,
...who was simultaneously a very well paid Washington Post columnist and a long time propagandist for the Muslim Brotherhood and Al Qaeda — most recently for Qatar, but in the past at the behest of Saudi Arabia’s intel chief, Prince Turki al-Faisal...
a dissident journalist, in the Saudi consulate in Istanbul last year.
How this last is relevant, only the journo knows. It's all 'in the wake' of Khashoggi in the same way as we're all living in the wake of Noah's flood.

Russian lawmakers back push to make local apps mandatory on smartphones
[ENGLISH.ALARABIYA.NET] Russian lawmakers on Tuesday backed legislation in a preliminary vote that would require all smartphones, computers and smart TV sets sold in Russia to come pre-installed with Russian software.

The bill seeks to help Russian IT firms compete with foreign companies and would allow the government to designate certain
locally-produced software as mandatory for devices sold in the country.
"Siri?
"Da"

Lawmakers in the lower house of parliament say the bill would also benefit Russian consumers, as it will spare them having to download domestic software upon purchasing new technology.

The bill proposes fines for companies that sell devices without pre-installed Russian software of up to 200,000 roubles ($3,155) starting from January 2021.

Russia’s cellphone market is dominated by foreign companies Apple, Samsung and Huawei products.

In August, Russian internet group Mail.ru said it was in talks with Huawei about the possibility of having its software pre-installed on the Chinese firm’s devices.

The proposal will only become law if it is backed in two more votes by the lower house of parliament and then approved by the upper house and President Vladimir Putin.

Moscow is trying to expand control over the internet and reduce its dependence on foreign companies and countries.

Trump’s Trade War Slashed US Imports From Beijing by $35Bln in First Half of 2019
[SPUTNIKNEWS] The trade war between the United States and China has hurt both sides and decreased US imports from Beijing by $35 billion over the first half of this year, the UN Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) said in a report.

"The analysis shows that US tariffs caused a 25% export loss, inflicting a US$35 billion blow to Chinese exports in the US market for tariffed goods in the first half of 2019," a blurb accompanying the report said on Tuesday.

The US tariffs on China are economically hurting both countries and US losses are largely related to higher prices for consumers, the UNCTAD report warned.

Taiwan was the largest beneficiary of the trade diversion effects of US tariffs on China, accounting for additional exports to the United States of almost $4.2 billion in the first half of 2019, the report said.

Mexico’s increase in exports to the United States due to the new tariffs on China are quantified to be about $3.5 billion, mostly in the agri-food, transport equipment and electrical machinery sectors, UNCTAD added.

#2  we also had reduced exports

the arithmetic won't add up because the total exports and imports are different each year

also it depends whether its just merchandise or does it count services, fees and so forth

in any case the arithmetic isn't really the issue as the US has as its objective to get the PRC to reform its practices and the PRC objective is to not reform its practices

Europe
Poland's Judicial Reforms OR 'How the EU subverts Sovereignty'
[DW] What are Poland's controversial judicial reforms?

The European Union has repeatedly condemned Poland for its overhaul of the country's judicial system. But what reforms does it find so egregious?
From the very powers and structure of the Supreme Court, to age limits and tenure criteria are changed at whim by the ECJ. The EU decides what laws will be deemed unconstitutional and whatever the so-called govt decides can be struck down from Brussels.

After this, a consolidation of the fourth estate with an EU designed media reforms.

I didn't post it all here as it's longish, but do read this article at DW.com and wonder just why did the Allies liberate Poland in the first place. And thank your stars you're not in the Ewww, people.

Land Owner Burns India Official Alive Over Alleged Property Dispute
[SPUTNIKNEWS] Vijaya Reddy, 37, died in a blaze after her office in Abdullapurmet was set on fire on Monday over a dramatically-escalated land dispute. Her driver - who tried to rescue the official - succumbed hours later to his wounds.

Local witnesses told the NDTV broadcaster that the suspect - identified by police as Suresh Mudiraju - entered Reddy's office with passbooks related to his property on Monday afternoon. Some half an hour later, Reddy rushed out of the office engulfed in flames. Her fellow-employees tried to extinguish her by wrapping her in a blanket.

"Suresh Mudiraju did not act on impulse. He came to the victim's office with a plan", local police said, adding that "the driver, Gurunatham, died at a hospital while undergoing treatment", according to the NDTV.

The NDTV reported that the suspect had grievances related to the local revenue department, which apparently refused to fix certain errors in his documents, related to an ongoing court case involving his property. The suspect reportedly made repeated trips to the revenue office before setting it on fire.

Local authorities have launched an investigation into the incident.

The brutal attack on the official has sparked protests in the area. Locals have reportedly blocked nearby roads demanding justice, better security and rapid probe of the incident.

Army Publishes 16-Year Modernization Plan to Outpace China With New Battle Concept
[Epoch Times] As the U.S. Army hunkered down for the war on terror, phrases such as "counter-insurgency" and "IEDs" became familiar to most Americans, along with the "shock and awe" introduced during the earlier Gulf War.

But now, if Army modernizers have read the runes right, two new phrases are set to dominate the future of U.S. warfare: "Multi-Domain Operations" and "Great Power Competition."

Those ideas lie at the heart of the 16-year Army Modernization Strategy recently published by the newly-minted Army Futures Command.

As the U.S. Army mastered the art of counter-insurgency in the dusty plains of Helmand Province and the streets of Baghdad’s Green Zone, and the world entered the age of the iPhone, China and Russia were working on ambitious strategies that harnessed the latest technology from the ground up.

In the past 15 years, China quietly tripled its annual military spending to an estimated $200 billion, with a clear focus on leveraging the latest developments such as artificial intelligence (AI), cloud computing, and hypersonic missiles to unbalance the U.S. military.
