Trans therapist charged over sexually assaulting autistic children in Indiana
[NGO.LOCALS] A trans suspect and online deep thinker has been arrested in Greenwood, Ind. for allegedly molesting young children while babysitting and being employed at a therapy center for autistic children.

Leomeir Vincennes Kennedy, 30, was charged with three counts of child molestation and one count of possession of child porn following an arrest on April 12. Kennedy is a biological female who identifies as a man and has been documenting his transition using testosterone. Johnson County court documents list him as a "trans male."

I can report that Kennedy was previously known as Allison Kennedy and used to live in Vancouver, Wash.—across the river from Portland, Ore.

According to court documents, a Johnson County Sheriff's Office detective wrote that Kennedy confessed to Greenwood Police on April 11 to molesting three children he cared for. Kennedy allegedly said he molested one of the victims while babysitting in October 2017. That female one-year-old was molested on the genitals during a diaper change.

In 2022, Kennedy worked as a licensed behavior technician at the Hopebridge Autism Therapy Center for pediatric patients. There, he allegedly molested two more young children, preying on victims assigned to other staff to minimize suspicion. One victim was allegedly molested during a diaper change, while another had been molested under the guise of a tickle session. Kennedy allegedly told police one of the victims was nonverbal and the other was only semi-verbal. A mother of one of the autistic victims told local media she observed behavioral changes in the nonverbal child following the sex abuse.

Court documents say Kennedy told police it felt like "Christmas" when he was molesting one of the child victims at the therapy center.

Accused, ex Plnd Parenthood Exec, Suicides post child porn raid
[NYPost] A former Connecticut Planned Parenthood honcho took his own life days after police failed to arrest him on child pornography charges; botching the raid by knocking down the door of the suspect’s New Haven neighbor.

Tim Yergeau, 36, the former director of strategic communications at the Southern New England branch of Planned Parenthood, died by suicide on Tuesday amid a child pornography investigation in Connecticut last week.

"The person who died was definitely the suspect in a child pornography investigation and the person who committed suicide," New Haven Police Chief Karl Jacobson told the New Haven Registrar.

#1  Couple of points:
He was probably guilty.
What is the cyber equivalent of a throw-down bag of weed?
"Possession" by itself is a crime. Making, transporting, selling, all are crimes, but just having it in your 'puter is a crime. Which leads me to an unusual degree of skepticism in such situations.

Ohio school district allows staff to be armed: 'Our schools will no longer be soft targets'
[FoxNews] An Ohio school district's new policy allows teachers and school staff to be armed over concerns of response times to active shooters.

The River Valley Local School District in rural Marion County joins 22 other school districts in the state that permit approved staff members to carry weapons on campus, according to the Marion Star.

"Our schools will no longer be soft targets and unprotected," Superintendent Adam Wickham said, according to the outlet. "Most active-shooter events occur in areas of ‘gun-free zones’ or with minimal safety measures in place. We want to ensure our schools will not be soft targets."

"As a rural community, response times can often be minutes away in the event of an active shooter," Wickham went on. "The use of armed staff in our buildings can potentially save lives by providing a more immediate response to the threat. Recent school shootings such as in Nashville, Uvalde and Parkland clearly show that the quicker the response time, the more likely you are to potentially save lives."

Wickham said community response to the policy has been mostly positive despite misgivings from some parents, according to the local outlet.

"Some have expressed questions about the training and selection process," he said. "The vast majority of parents have expressed appreciation for the proactive approach in protecting their children. That is really a main reason for adopting the use of armed staff."

"While we understand not everyone will support this program, every safety measure we take at River Valley, including the use of armed staff, is put in place to try and ensure our staff and students can go home safely to their families and loved ones each and every day."

Republican Gov. Mike DeWine signed House Bill 99 on June 13, 2022, allowing school districts across the state to authorize teachers, principals and other staff to carry guns into classrooms with 24 hours of training. Lawmakers fast-tracked the law despite criticism from some Democrats who said it sent the wrong message in the wake of the school shooting in Uvalde, Texas.

According to Wickham, armed staff in the district will require more training than that recommended by the state. In 2020, the district required a total of 50 hours of training.

South Korea repels North Korean movement at sea by firing warning shots

Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
n vessel temporarily crossing the disputed western sea boundary, South Korea's military said it fired warning shots to repel their potential obtrusion.

The North Korean patrol vessel, which crossed the North Limit Line at around 11am on Saturday, was moving in the waters while chasing a Chinese fishing boat near South Korea’s Baekryeong island, USA Today reported.

However,
a clean conscience makes a soft pillow...
the vessel retreated immediately after warning shots were fired by a South Korean naval vessel, South Korea’s joint chiefs of staff said on Sunday.

During the action, the South Korean high-speed vessel struck into the Chinese boat while responding to the intrusion due to poor visibility. This led to bruises and minor injuries sustained by some South Korean sailors. However,

there were no exchanges of fire between the archrivals in the sea.

"The South Korean military is closely monitoring North Korean military activities while preparing for various possibilities of provocations," said the joint chiefs of staff as quoted by the American publication.

This was not the first time that such an activity has taken place in the disputed territory's waters. The South Korean navy has also fired warning shots in the past to push back North Korean vessels trespassing the poorly-marked sea border. However,

Saturday's incident took place in the midst of intense tension in the region as both nations have escalated their military activities to counter each other recently.

North Korea boasted its weapons in a military equipment demonstration last week, while the South Korean military carried out a joint exercise with the United States (US) aimed at countering the former's threat.

50 climate activists charged after 'halt', shovelling of coal train in Australia
[GEO.TV] At least 50 climate change screeching muppets were charged with unlawful demonstration near Australia's largest coal export port on Sunday after protesters climbed on a coal train and shovelled the coal.

New South Wales state police said 47 demonstrators were charged with "rail corridor offences", two with malicious damage and one with assaulting a security guard in relation to the "unlawful protest activity" near the Port of Newcastle, some 170 km (105 miles) from the state capital Sydney.

Climate screeching muppet group Rising Tide, which grabbed credit for the protest, said arrests were made when people were "occupying the train".

In a statement, the group said: "Twenty of the group scaled the train and used shovels to unload coal from the laden wagons." Police said 14 screeching muppets had climbed onto a train carriage in a railway corridor in the suburb of Sandgate.

Climate change is a polarized issue in Australia, which is the world's top exporter of coal.

The centre-left Labor government does not support a ban on all new fossil fuel projects. It sees "safeguard mechanism" reform laws as key to its pledge to cut emissions by 43% by 2030 in a country that ranks as one of the world's biggest carbon emitters per capita.

The Port of Newcastle is the largest bulk shipping port on Australia’s east coast and the nation's largest terminal for coal exports, according to the New South Wales government.

The protest group posted an image on Twitter showing protesters in front and on top of a coal train. A banner on the train said, "'Survival Guide for Humanity': no new coal".

The group tweeted it had "halted coal" into the port and was demanding the Labor Party to "immediately cancel all new coal projects".

A Port of Newcastle spokesperson said shipping operations were operating normally on Sunday.

...Many, many years ago a group of Screeching Muppets(TM) decided to lay on the railroad tracks leading into the US Navy's Trident base in Bremerton, WA. They knew that the train, carrying nuclear warheads (actually pretty easy to tell when one knows what one is looking for) would stop, and they could make their performative protest.

Except...since the train had weapons aboard, IT DIDN'T STOP. One of the Screeching Muppets lost his legs, and the lead engineer on the train sued him for pain and suffering.

Interestingly, that sort of thing does not seem to have happened again.

Government Corruption
Elon Musk claims the US government had ‘full access' to private Twitter DMs
[The Hill] Twitter CEO Elon Musk claimed in an interview that the U.S. government has "full access" to users’ private direct messages, saying knowing that information blew his mind.

In an excerpt of his Fox News interview with host Tucker Carlson, Musk told Carlson that he was shocked to find out about the government’s ability to read users’ direct messages on his platform.

"The degree to which government agencies effectively had full access to everything that was going on on Twitter blew my mind," Musk, who recently founded an artificial intelligence company called X.AI, told Carlson in the interview set to air on Tuesday. "I was not aware of that."

"Would that include people’s DMs?" Carlson asked Musk.

"Yes," Musk replied to Carlson.

IMF wants ‘more guarantees’ as PM insists all demands met
[Dawn] Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday said the International Monetary Fund (IMF) has no reason to delay the approval of the staff-level agreement after financial assurances from friendly countries, even as a Fund official said the lender looked forward to "necessary financing assurances" as soon as possible to pave way for the completion of the ninth review of the $7 billion programme.

The statement came from IMF Mission Chief to Pakistan Nathan Porter, a day after Finance Minister Ishaq Dar announced the confirmation of $1bn in bilateral financial support to Pakistain, believed to be the last prior action for staff-level agreement with the global lender.

Speaking during a ceremony in Lahore, PM Shehbaz said: "The IMF had set a condition for us to arrange funds from friendly countries before it signed a staff-level agreement with us. We put up an effort of one-and-a-half months to first have a rollover of $2bn from China and then $3bn from Soddy Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual hajj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. When the oil runs out the rest of the world is going to kick sand in the Soddy national face...
and the UAE, thus meeting the last condition of the IMF."

"The new army chief made efforts to acquire the funds from Saudi Arabia and the UAE," the premier said and also praised Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari and Ishaq Dar for their ’hard work’ in this regard.

He said that his government "inherited an IMF agreement that was in tatters" while expressing the determination to overcome these challenges by striking a deal with the global lender as soon as possible. He acknowledged that the government had to accept the stringent conditions set by the IMF as there was "no alternative".

IMF ASKS TO DO MORE
Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Ike through the elbow. Take that, Ike! he yelled......
the Fund welcomed bilateral assistance confirmation to Pakistain but sought further assurances to seal the deal with Islamabad.

During the meetings between the Pak delegation and IMF staff and management, there was an agreement to maintain strong policies and secure sufficient financing to support the implementation efforts, the statement said.

An official source said that the Fund is still waiting for assurances from friendly countries contesting an earlier statement by the government which had claimed that the assurance of $2bn from Saudi Arabia and $1bn from the UAE would resolve the issue. Mr Dar had also announced that the State Bank had received the last disbursement from the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China worth $300 million out of its $1.3bn loan.
Afghan Digest adds:
The IMF loan continues its banishment in limbo as an outstanding $6 billion dollars has yet to be secured by either nation-states or international banks. Without the loan, most economists believe the country will default in June or July.

Former Indian Lawmaker And His Brother Shot Dead On Live TV
[SAHARAREPORTERS] Aformer Indian lawmaker convicted of kidnapping and facing murder and assault charges was shot dead along with his brother.

Officials said this was done in a dramatic attack that was caught live on TV in northern India.
"Must-see - TV! Tonight, on a very special episode..."
Atiq Ahmad and his brother, Ashraf Ahmad, were under police escort on their way to a medical checkup at a hospital on Saturday night when three men posing as journalists targeted the two brothers from close range in Prayagraj City in Uttar Pradesh state, AP reports.

The men quickly surrendered to the police after the shooting, with at least one of them chanting “Jai Shri Ram” or “Hail Lord Ram,” a slogan that has become a battle cry for Hindu nationalists in their campaign against Muslims.
Those Hindu nationalists have been getting salty recently.
Uttar Pradesh is governed by India’s ruling Hindu-nationalist Bhartiya Janata Party.

Police officer Ramit Sharma said the three assailants came on motorcycles posing as journalists, FRANCE24 reports.

“They managed to reach close to Atiq and his brother on the pretext of recording a byte and fired at them from close range. Both sustained bullet injuries on the head," he said.

“It all happened in seconds," Sharma said.

On Thursday, Atiq Ahmad's teenage son and another man, who had both been blamed for a recent murder, were killed by police in what was described as a shootout.

Atiq Ahmad, 60, was jailed in 2019 after he was convicted of kidnapping. He was a local lawmaker four times and was also elected to India's parliament in 2004.

His lawyer, Vijay Mishra, said the incident was shocking as “it is a clear failure of the police in ensuring the safety" of his clieclients."

Biden World Bank Nominee: We Shouldn't See China as a Competitor in Developing World, We Need Everyone on Climate
[Breitbart] During an interview aired on Friday’s broadcast of NPR’s “Morning Edition,” Ajay Banga, President Joe Biden’s nominee for World Bank President, argued that the U.S. and World Bank shouldn’t view China as a competitor in the developing world, “we need all shoulders at the wheel, including the private sector, if you’re going to make a difference with a sense of urgency, particularly in climate,” and “All countries” have bilateral aid.

Host Michel Martin asked, [relevant exchange begins around 5:20] “Beijing has itself provided loans to developing countries. That’s been a benefit to many countries, but that’s also a source of concern to other governments who worry about what China expects in return. But China is still seen as a developing country which is eligible for World Bank support. Is China basically competing with the World Bank’s work?”

Banga responded, “I don’t think we should view ourselves as competitors, any of the multilateral banks or countries. All countries have got bilateral aid systems in addition to helping with the multilateral development banking system. And I think we need all shoulders at the wheel, including the private sector, if you’re going to make a difference with a sense of urgency, particularly in climate, where 2030 is seven years away and 2050 — with the Paris Accords — is 27 years away. We don’t have the time to play in silos. If young people have good quality of life, health, education, clean air, clean water — the things you and I take for granted — if they get that and then they also get jobs when they’re eligible for jobs, then young people, their optimism, their future transforms countries.”
