Investigation of 50 states reveals horrific conditions in abortion clinics
[Washington Examiner] California law protects dogs, cats, and other animals from unscrupulous veterinary clinics with an array of 158 separate laws, including licensure, qualification and training requirements for veterinarians and staff, physical clinic standards, and cleanliness standards.

Why, then, does California law provide no standards whatsoever to safeguard women experiencing abortion from dirty and dangerous abortion businesses? Because every single one of the commonsense medical standards that use to protect California women from fly-by-night abortionists — from a 24-hour follow-up system for emergencies to an "adequate patient recovery area" have been wiped off the books by state courts or pro-abortion lawmakers, at the urging of abortion practitioners and advocates.

How can it be that in California and many other places in America, we care more about our pets than we do about the health and safety of women facing a life-changing abortion decision?

Americans United for Life set out to answer that question with the most extensive public records investigation ever to shine the light of truth on the nation’s abortion industry. The result is Unsafe, an exhaustive analysis of every publicly available abortion facility health and safety inspection report, and the grave implications this trove of inspection documentation raises for the safety of women who seek abortion in America.

Unsafe tells the story of how the abortion industry bet everything on a strategy of total repeal of the nation’s abortion laws, believing against the evidence that abortion would be safe if it were just made legal. America’s women lost that bet when the Supreme Court struck down abortion laws in all 50 states in Roe v. Wade. Unsafe is the comprehensive, documented record of the tragic consequences of that lost bet: 2,400 abortion facility health and safety violations reported in just the last 12 years (2008—2020), implicating well over 300 abortion businesses in hazardous, unclean abortions. Add to that the colossal toll abortion has taken in human lives and the physical and emotional suffering of survivors.

The West is reverting to paganism
[Bookworm Room] The term "pagan" developed as a way for the West to describe pre-Christian religion. Aside from meaning religions without Christ, "pagan" also described a world without Biblical values. When I think of Biblical values, I think of: a belief in an abstract divinity untethered to nature, monogamy within the context of marriage, two sexes, the end of human sacrifice, and a reliable justice system tempered as appropriate by mercy. Beginning in the 1960s at a covert level, fairly openly in the last 12 years, and with accelerating speed in the last 11 days, the left has used education, entertainment, social media, politics, the courts, and the police state to do away with every one of those Judeo-Christian, Biblically-based rules.

In lieu of an abstract divinity untethered to nature, we have open Gaia-worship. Even the Pope, who is supposed to the keeper of the Christian tradition, has anthropomorphized the Earth, elevating it to a divine state akin to God. In March, of the Wuhan virus, he said "Fires, earthquakes ... nature is throwing a tantrum so that we will take care of her." Breitbart noted that this was not the only time the Pope, inside of talking about "God’s creation," talked about the earth as an entity:

Francis has also tended to personalize nature, suggesting that it "cries out" when it is mistreated.

Situations such as a loss of biodiversity and economic inequality "have caused sister earth, along with all the abandoned of our world, to cry out, pleading that we take another course," he wrote. "Never have we so hurt and mistreated our common home as we have in the last two hundred years."

"Neglecting to monitor the harm done to nature and the environmental impact of our decisions is only the most striking sign of a disregard for the message contained in the structures of nature itself," he said. "When we fail to acknowledge as part of reality the worth of a poor person, a human embryo, a person with disabilities — to offer just a few examples — it becomes difficult to hear the cry of nature itself; everything is connected."

Those statements are pure paganism. Pre-Christian faiths viewed earth in exactly the same light. The movie Frozen II was a textbook for children about earth worship, even providing them with an Aryan earth goddess.

The Biden administration is accelerating this viewpoint with its fanatic emphasis on climate change — aka Gaia worship.

#4  I've always maintained that the Pope is as far from God as one can get without going full Cthulhu. So one can't expect anything from there.

The wavering beliefs of modern 'çhristian' societies, their reluctance to sacrifice some liberties for morals, family discipline and integrity... all this is on the preachers. The denominationals and evangelicals who claimed guardianship of His flocks and later turned out to be no better than politicians and racketeers. They brought ignominy upon the Word of God, and they left it undefended before scoffers, not bothering to demonstrate their faith but instead filling their own coffers, changing basic doctrines for the convenience of high tithing congregants... Gehazis and Judases most of them.

I laud the few men and women who must have stayed true to Christ, treated like fools, their congregations slowly marginalized and mocked by an increasingly liberty crazed society. Shadowed by the Kanye West churches and the Kool Aid drinkers, surely there be some. The world is still spinning.

Washington barber defies coronavirus restrictions, tells customers to have 'a shot of whiskey' instead of wearing mask
[Washington Examiner] The rebel barber of Snohomish, Washington, won’t lay down his favorite tool, scissors, without a fight.

Bob Martin, 80, has been hit with an avalanche of cease-and-desist letters, nearly $100,000 in fines, and a suspension of the barbering license he’s held since 1967. Despite threats from local and state authorities, he isn’t giving up.

"I haven’t done anything wrong, nobody has gotten sick, and I’m not going to let anybody push me around, tell me I can’t work," he told the Everett Herald. "I don’t need a license to work and they can’t stop me."

Martin says his daughter has a brain tumor, and both she and his grandson depend on him, adding that he feels like "everybody’s grandpa in town."

The state of Washington suspended Martin’s personal barbering license, which was first issued in 1967, in May. Martin is the owner of Stag Barber and Styling in Snohomish and had refused to shut down his business in violation of the state’s COVID-19 restrictions.

Local regulators are taking action against Martin’s business, including issuing steep fines for every day the barbershop is open, but that hasn’t deterred the octogenarian.

"We find ourselves in a situation we haven’t really faced before — someone who refuses to work with us to comply with health and safety regulations and will not partner with us," Christine Anthony, a communications manager for the Washington State Department of Licensing, said.
Perhaps because you haven't acted like a fascist before, but I'm supposing without evidence...
"After we work through our processes and procedures, we will explore all potential options in consultation with the AG’s Office."
Perhaps if you stopped acting like fascists...
While the state requires customers and employees to wear masks, Martin asks customers to take off their masks, offering them a tipple instead. "I tell people ... ’If you’re worried about germs, I’ll give you a shot of whiskey."

Martin, who does not plan to get a COVID-19 vaccine, warned that anyone who stops him from running "is going to get their (expletive) shot," according to the Everett Herald.

"We have 25 people for our own personal militia, to protect the barber shop," he said. "... They stand guard outside there if we need them."

-Land of the Free
Why Are We Killing Babies When Babies Are Wanted?
[National Review] We will never again sow division. Scripture tells us to envision that everyone shall sit under their own vine and fig tree and no one shall make them afraid." That’s from Amanda Gordon’s poem "The Hill We Climb," which she read at our 59th presidential inauguration. They were consistent with President Biden’s own words to those who did not support him: "Hear me out as we move forward. Take a measure of me and my heart."

Unfortunately, Joe Biden didn’t wait even until the end of the week to pounce on some of his most divisive priorities. The statement that he and Vice President Kamala Harris released for the 48th anniversary of Roe v. Wade, the Supreme Court decision that made abortion legal in all three trimesters of pregnancy, was the most vehement yet from any Democratic administration.

After asserting that "reproductive health . . . has been under relentless and extreme attack," Biden and Harris write that the administration is "deeply committed to making sure everyone has access to . . . reproductive health care." The statement continues:
The Biden-Harris Administration is committed to codifying Roe v. Wade and appointing judges that respect foundational precedents like Roe. . . . Now is the time to rededicate ourselves to ensuring that all individuals have access to the health care they need.

One of the problems here, of course, is that abortion isn’t mere health care. It isn’t your heart medication or chemotherapy for cancer — which, by the way, some patients have been unable to access during the rolling shutdowns for COVID. But, unlike these treatments, abortions have been available throughout the pandemic. Abortion is the ending of a life. It’s the severing of the most precious bond there is, the one between a mother and child.

Mr. Goldberg may once have held the convictions he formerly espoused for pay, and may still do, but his convictions were sacrificed on the alter of continued pay for Mr. Goldberg and a distaste for the common man that quite equals Fabian socialist George Bernard Shaw’s. One would think that, having written Liberal Fascism (now promoted with a $1.40 credit if purchased as an ebook on Amazon as part of their Great On Kindle program), he would recognize and avoid what he instead sells privately to promote publicly.

Kurt Schlichter: Stop the Third-Party Insanity
President Trump recently announced he’ll continue working within the Republican Party, while supporting those politicians who agree with his vision.
[Townhall] Ditching the GOP is a bad idea born of justifiable frustration, and we need to stop being emotional and start being ruthless in our campaign to retake this country from these liberal establishment aspiring fascists. A third party is not the way. It is a bad idea, one that is technically impractical and which is strategically inept. It will lead to disaster. And the Democrats know it, which is why they love this third party palaver. The only thing that makes the tooting likes of Eric Swalwell coo in delight harder than some mediocre Chi Com honeypot is the thought of us conservatives committing ritual suicide by splitting our half of the country in two because some of the 50 percent of Americans in our camp are insufferable sissies.

Let’s look at the big picture. The design of the Constitution essentially mandates a two-party system. A third party has never won the presidency, and one rarely wins legislative seats. Usually, such candidates call themselves "independents," but Democrats know they are really Democrats and understand this is just a ploy to appeal to the suckers.

There is always going to be a party of the left, and a party of the right, with the battle over the middle. A party getting 55 percent of the vote is considered to have won in a landslide. America is that closely divided. For our sins, the party of the right is the Republican Party. And math says we are stuck with it.

Opinion: The Enemy Is Us
[Red State] We have met the enemy and he is us, is a great quip from the comic strip, Pogo. It appears that this quote is becoming far more accurate every election that passes. Over at American Spectator, Eric Utter has an interesting piece out regarding the antipathy Americans now feel towards each other. He writes:

A new CBS News poll reveals that a majority of Americans believe the biggest threat to the American way of life is other Americans. More than two-thirds of poll respondents said they believe democracy in the U.S. is "threatened," and 54% said "other people in America" are the "biggest threat to the American way of life," more so than economic factors, viruses, natural disasters, or foreign actors.

Got that? Other Americans are bigger threats than economics, disease, earthquakes, or Russia.

Read: Poll shows most Americans believe other Americans are biggest threat to country

Mr. Utter is correct. We have undergone a sea change in these United States. At one time, the public face of American politics was, for the most part, about two parties with more or less the same objectives, but with varied ideas on how to achieve them. That’s not to say that below the surface, the left hasn’t always really been about a long march through American institutions — the purpose of that long march being, a complete transformation of the American ideal.

We have come to a different place. Arguably, and for the most part, the left kept its long term agenda camouflaged with innovative language, such as gay, or transgender instead of sexually disordered. They use investment, instead of crony capitalism fueled by tax dollars.

We could dispute the exact time when all this became such an in-your-face attitude. For the purposes of this piece, let’s go with the Obama Administration as the point at which the facade started to crumble and the 2016 Presidential Election where the left finally dropped all pretense at being a loyal opposition. You know, back when President Barack Obama famously quipped, in about as arrogant a tone possible, that We are the ones we’ve been waiting for. Wow!

#2  Dron's Law of Violence: The amount of violence backing order must remain higher than the amount of violence behind chaos.

Since entropy of any sort is conquered only by greater force that itself, it is essential to apply greater and greater violence to hem even social chaos in, keeping it suppressed [you'll never be rid of it]. Now, political censure, discrimination, economic and legal oppression, extra-legal persecution... all are forms of violence. The responsible State uses them all against the clearly identifiable agencies of chaos [from organized narrow interest groups to 'trained marxists' and even anti-social twitterati, yes] that raise their heads from time to time. This is not out of malice, but is the duty of the rulers toward the law-abiding, those that don't wish for utopias but contribute to the continuity of civilization as is [asking only to be left the f#ck alone]. When the ruler fails in this duty, the people themselves must take it up, braving vilification, imprisonment, anything.

A society that fails to wield violence against chaos, allows for greater and greater such agencies until they take over. And polities that allow for greater and greater liberties in the service of progress, ultimately find themselves in regression. That's another law of Dron's, that smart mother#r.

Trump: In Like a Lion, Out Like a Lamb?
[AmThinker] March weather, according to folklore, comes in like a lion and out like a lamb, although late March often has its share of nasty winter storms where I live. Donald Trump’s presidency has followed a similar pattern.

He came to the White House four years ago like a lion, handily defeating the "smartest woman in the world" that virtually every pollster confidently predicted would win the election. Trump’s agenda was that of a lion king.

He built a wall on our southern border. Mexico did pay for it, not literally, but through renegotiated trade deals. He restored the military, cut taxes and regulations, appointed scores of conservative judges, moved strongly toward peace to the Middle East, and made America a country to be respected, if not feared, by our foreign adversaries.

Kamala Harris Sends Joe Manchin and Kirsten Sinema a Not-So-Subtle Message
[PJ] Joe Biden is putting pressure on moderate Democrats in the Senate to follow his lead to enact his agenda. With no margin for error at all in the Senate, the president is sending a not-so-subtle message to West Virginia’s Joe Manchin and Arizona’s Kyrsten Sinema that they better toe the line or suffer the consequences.

The pressure came from Vice President Kamala Harris who made two appearances on local TV stations — one in Arizona and one in West Virginia — to deliver the message.

Fox News:
Whether the Harris interviews were designed to pressure Manchin and Sinema into backing the American Rescue Plan was not immediately clear. Following the TV appearances, White House press secretary Jen Psaki was asked why the vice president chose to address local media in the two states.

"We want to make the case to the American people across the country. ... This is a way to do just that," Psaki said. She added that Harris would likely do more regional interviews in other states.

In her TV remarks, Harris explained the "urgency" of the $1.9 trillion plan that would give out an additional $1,400 in stimulus checks to Americans, expand unemployment insurance, and increase the child tax credit.

It’s significant that Harris specifically mentioned the stimulus checks to individuals. Manchin has stated he believes the checks should only go to those in need. This directly contradicts the president’s wishes and has Manchin siding with Republicans who have proposed limiting the checks to those making less than $75,000.

But Manchin has a tough sell with voters on his hands when it comes to Biden’s planned destruction of the coal industry. Harris didn’t exactly tell those thousands of miners in West Virginia to "learn to code," but she came close.

Democrats get ready to unleash the IRS for selective enforcement on political opponents
[AmericanThinker] Democrats have an amazing array of third-world dictator tricks targeting their Republican opponents.

Item A is their bid to use the IRS to cut off Republican freedom of assembly.

According to Judicial Watch:

Reminiscent of the Obama Internal Revenue Service’s (IRS) witch hunt of conservative groups, a U.S. Senator who sits on the committee that oversees the tax agency is pushing it to revoke a student charity’s nonprofit status. The veteran lawmaker, Rhode Island Democrat Sheldon Whitehouse, says the conservative student organization, Turning Point USA, should lose its nonprofit rating because it held large events that could help spread COVID-19. In a letter to IRS Commissioner Charles P. Rettig the senator describes the gatherings as "superspreader" events. He specifically mentions a Palm Beach, Florida winter gala at the Mar-a-Lago Club famously owned by former President Donald Trump.

It's All Rigged
[MichellesMirror] I shall continue my Catty Cathy special inaugural fashion coverage today with a special report on Ella Emhoff’s unlikely new career as a model for IMG, one of the most prestigious agencies in the nation. Why do you say “unlikely” MOTUS? After all Ella is the daughter of someone rich and famous ( in case you’re a cave dweller, Ella is the stepdaughter of VP Kammie) and that is how careers are made in postmodern America. And let’s just stipulate to the fact that, unlike Melania, she isn’t normally what you’d consider conventional model material. But then, we no longer live in conventional world, do we?

"It's not really about shape, size or gender any more," Ivan Bart, the president of IMG Models told The New York Times, "noting that what brands are attracted to, and what consumers want, is authenticity. "Ella communicates this moment in time. There's a cheekiness and a joy she exudes."

Generally more ‘cheeky’ than ‘joy’ I’d suggest.

Finally, a Slow Fashion King at the White House - GARAGEI really hate to point this out, but those shadows in the underarm area are not “shadows” - Ella is a natural woman, a trait I’m guessing has limited ‘agency’ in the modeling world.

Now I know we used to have arguments around here regarding the “hands off the kids” policy. But with their treatment of the Trumps’ young son the media changed the rules. Also Ella is going on 22, is a senior at the Parson’s School of Design and has her own self-promoting website and Instagram account for her “designer knitwear” which she is happy to model herself.

#9  Nothing says cheeky joy like a frown.

I think she’s attempting to be modeliciously aloof, rjschwarz, instead coming off as dyspeptic.
