Beijing plans to run Olympic torch through Tibet
... has anyone noticed the ChiComs are planning to run the torch through Tibet? The official stop is Mount Qomolangma, that is to say, Mount Everest. Blaming riots on the "Dalai clique", this Red China propaganda site celebrates the prospect.

Tibetans are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the Olympic flame, lit Monday afternoon in Greece, and welcome its being carried to the top of Mount Qomolangma (Everest) as "an honor equivalent to an Olympic gold."

A highlight of the torch relay will be to take the Olympic flame to the summit of Mount Qomolangma in May.

"The torch relay will be Tibet's biggest contribution to the Beijing Olympics, and should bring us mountaineers honor equivalent to an Olympic gold," Nima Ciren, principal of the Lhasa Mountaineering Guide School.

This, my friends, is what we call taking the piss. Time to set up base camp outside the Chinese consulate.

#1  Does the phrase 'You have got to be kidding' never appear in that Little Old Red Book? When knee deep in da proverbial, keep on digging, and remember to keep that last round safe.

#2  The Audicitimeter© went off the scale. And a cause could be: Face saving distraction, whilst shoring up 3rd world proxies, all in a line, toeing the line.

Democrat Campaigns = Blazing Saddles?
Fred, I know we don't normally post comments from someone else's blog, but I beg your indulgence. This is eerily perceptive - and funny as hell. :-D
Tom Maguire is a gem and he's always welcome on the Burg, as is his sidekick Claire Berlinski. And their commenters are pretty good, especially the ones who also post here :-)
Comment from Tom Maguire's JustOneMinute:

It's amazing how many lines from that movie work for this campaign.

The first question Obama got in Iowa
What's a dazzling urbanite like you doing in a rustic setting like this?

Explaining the Iowa caucus to newcomers
Now, I suppose you're all wondering just what in the heck you're doing out here in the middle of a prairie in the middle of nowhere in the middle of the night.
Crowd: You bet your ass.

Despite setbacks, Mike Gravel stays in the race
No sidewindin bushwackin, hornswaglin, cracker croaker is gonna rouin me bishen cutter.

Obama's campaign theme
He conquered fear and he conquered hate He turned dark night into day

Hillary rounds up her operatives
I want rustlers, cut throats, murderers, bounty hunters, desperados, mugs, pugs, thugs, nitwits, halfwits, dimwits, vipers, snipers, con men, Indian agents, Mexican bandits, muggers, buggerers, bushwhackers, hornswogglers, horse thieves, bull dykes, train robbers, bank robbers, ass-kickers, shit-kickers and Methodists.

Ezra Klein hears a speech
God darnit...you use your tongue prettier than a twenty dollar whore.

Obama after every press appearance
Ooh, baby, you are so talented! And they are so DUMB!

Obama explaining his post-racial appeal
Well, to tell the family secret, my grandmother was Dutch.

But Hispanics are skeptical of Obama and his supporters
Hast du gesehen in deine Leben? They're darker than us!

The party's new reaction to Hillary
Shut up, you Teutonic tw*t!

The anguish of the superdelegates
We've gotta protect our phoney baloney jobs, gentlemen!

And of course for the current situation [Obamaramadingdong "dissing" small-town Americans]
You've got to remember that these are just simple farmers. These are people of the land. The common clay of the new West. You know... morons.

Frighteningly true.... God, I miss Cleavon Little.

Iraq
Aussie soldiers opinion
I was touched, *sniff* by his description of our soldiers. The prowess, the humility, the friendlyness.
------SNIP-----
Before I came over here I thought we (the Australian Army) were pretty…hot….. was I ever wrong!….The Yanks (I hope you don’t mind me using that word) are so professional from the top to the bottom that it is almost embarrassing to be in their company, and to call yourself a soldier….don’t get me wrong, we are good at what we do but the Yanks are so much better…..they are complete at what they do, how they do it and their attitude is awesome….they don’t complain they just get on with the job and they do it right…..I carry a Minimi (SAW) so I am not real worried about a confrontation but I tell you I feel safer just knowing that the US Army is close by….If we got into trouble I know that our boys would come running and we could deal with it but they would probably be passed by a load of Hummers. No questions asked, no glory sought, the Americans would just fight with us and for us because that is their nature, to protect those in need of protection…..

We use the American Mess so you could say that we are fed by the Americans…..they have every right to be pissed at that but they don’t bitch about that they just make us feel as welcome as possible….what gets to me is that the Yanks don’t walk around with a “we are better than you attitude” and they could because they are, they treat us as equals and as brothers in arms. If nothing else, coming here has taught me that the Americans are a truly great Nation and a truly great bunch of people…..Let’s face it they don’t HAVE to be here, they could stay in America and beat the shit out of anyone who threatened them, BUT THEY ARE HERE because they believe they should be here, and the Iraqis would be screwed if they weren’t here…..When I come home, you and I we are going to the US, we will buy some bikes and we are going riding….
------SNIP------
God bless our troops. May they come home in Glorious Victory.
One thing I'd point out: our troops and the Aussie troops, from everything I've read, just plain like each other. We fought and bled together in WWII, Korea and Vietnam. The language is a bond, of course, but there is a fair bit of similar culture and ideas. The Aussie soliders are tough, scrappy, and they too will will come running with 'no questions asked'.

#1  they don't complain they just get on with the job and they do it right

That's because the overwhelming bulk of the complainers, slackers and fumblers stay home to fill our universities, MSM, and a damn good portion of the Democratic Party.

#2  An Aussie is welcome in my home (til they f*ck up, of course, but that's true of family, too). They are us.
