-Lurid Crime Tales-
Old Jake Tapper may want to lawyer up
[BB4SP] The report released Friday by the House Intelligence Committee regarding its investigation into alleged Russian collusion by the president’s election campaign appears to contain a stunning truth bomb about CNN host Jake Tapper: He may have participated in political espionage, according to one high-profile attorney.

In early 2017 he allowed then-National Intelligence Director James Clapper to leak information to him about the infamous Trump dossier and about a high-level government meeting held between then-President-elect Donald Trump and then-FBI Director James Comey.

"Clapper’s discussion with Tapper took place in early January 2017, around the time IC [intelligence community]leaders briefed President Obama and President-elect Trump, on" the dossier, the report specifically reads.

#1  Awesome! It is well past time that lots of Democrats started getting hit with lawsuits that result in financially crippling them and wiping them out, just like what happened to Gen. Flynn. Only when enough of them are living out of cardboard boxes in a fucking alley will this form of political warfare cease.

#2  What's the legal precedence for one of these poor victims of the special counsel's hounding that resulted in hundreds of thousands of dollars in legal fees?

Don't you suppose it would get very interesting if someone like Flynn sued for damages now that the whole cloth of the invention of charges against him even after the FBI decided to shut down the investigation.

Why All the Secrecy
[National Review] How do you know Trump’s not a suspect?"

I’ve been hearing that question a lot these days. News reports indicate that Special Counsel Robert Mueller may try to coerce President Trump’s testimony by issuing a grand-jury subpoena if the president does not agree to a "voluntary" interview. That has sparked a public debate over the question of whether Mueller, an inferior executive officer, has such authority to strong-arm the chief executive ‐ the official in whom the Constitution reposes all executive power, including the power that Mueller exercises only as long as the president permits it.

I don’t think he does.

To be clear, there is no question that Mueller, as a special counsel, is a federal prosecutor who has the authority to issue grand-jury subpoenas. But everyone who works in the Justice Department has a boss, including the attorney general (who answers to the president). As special counsel, Mueller answers to Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein (because Attorney General Jeff Sessions recused himself from the so-called Russia investigation). That means Mueller has the authority to issue a subpoena to the president unless Rosenstein ‐ or the president ‐ tells him not to.

Before we come to whether the deputy AG should clip the special counsel’s wings, let’s address one point of confusion.

Many people believe, as I do, that the president should not be subjected to questioning by a prosecutor on the facts as we presently know them. From that premise, however, they argue that Mueller may not subpoena the president, or that the president may ignore any subpoena. Neither of those things is true.

A prosecutor has the power to subpoena virtually anyone. In our system, there are very few limits on what the grand jury may investigate. A comparison usefully illustrates this point. I’ve frequently observed that by appointing Mueller without first establishing a basis to believe a crime warranting investigation had been committed, Rosenstein violated regulations that govern special-counsel appointments. By contrast, the grand jury has no such constraints ‐ it can investigate pretty much anything. There is no proof hurdle ‐ such as "probable cause" or "reasonable suspicion" ‐ that has to be surmounted. In fact, a grand jury is free to investigate even if it just wants to satisfy itself that a crime has not been committed.

#1  “Secrecy is the keystone to all tyranny. Not force, but secrecy and censorship. When any government or church for that matter, undertakes to say to its subjects, "This you may not read, this you must not know," the end result is tyranny and oppression, no matter how holy the motives. Mighty little force is needed to control a man who has been hoodwinked in this fashion; contrariwise, no amount of force can control a free man, whose mind is free. No, not the rack nor the atomic bomb, not anything. You can't conquer a free man; the most you can do is kill him.”

India-Pakistan
Hazara massacre
[DAWN] I RECENTLY received an email from a reader that made me ashamed for not having written earlier about the Hazara
...a grouping of Dari-speaking people of Sino-Tibetan descent inhabiting Afghanistan and Pakistain. They are predominantly Shia Moslems and not particularly warlike, which makes them favored targets...
ethnic/sectarian cleansing taking place in Balochistan...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it...
The young Hazara woman writes: "... in Quetta we are imprisoned to a few kilometres ... we can’t go out of this confined area... I am writing to you because I want you to support us, write about us, stand by us, stand against Shia killing and the genocide of Hazaras...."

#1  Out of the reported 900,000 or so Hazara citizens who live mostly in Balochistan, around 70,000 are said to have fled, mainly to Australia, where there are reports that hundreds may have drowned during this perilous sea journey.

Oddly enough, not India, China, Iran or any of the neighboring countries that would have accepted them, but Australia, thousands of miles away. These economic refugees need to be deported as soon as they reach Australian waters.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
In Gaza, setting fire to their own gas lines to fuel the flames of protest
Idiots. And the usual suspects just gave a potload of money for the renovation of Moslem sites in East Jerusalem, so there is some question whether they will volunteer to pay for this particular repair in the near future.
[IsraelTimes] The vandalism caused by protesters at Kerem Shalom site isn't just an expression of rage against Israel, but also against the Paleostinian Authority.

The infiltration of Paleostinian demonstrators into the Gazook side of the Kerem Shalom goods crossing on Friday evening caused damage estimated in the millions to infrastructure, mostly to pipes providing vital gas and fuel to the Strip.

Dozens of Paleostinians broke into the Gazoo side crossing on Friday evening, setting fire to the gas pipeline that supplies fuel to the Strip. They did not get through to the Israeli side.

#1  How does that saying go about poo-pooing and a dinner plate?
Posted by: AlmostAnonymous || 05/06/2018 10:02 Comments || Top||

#2  Reconcile these two statements:
1) The moment the incident began, Hamas officials in charge of security at the site realized that trying to stop it could cause deaths and injuries, and so pulled back and allowed the demonstrators to do as they pleased,

2) It is members of the Paleostinian Authority that are in charge of operations at the crossing, not Hamas. And so the vandalism at the site wasn’t just an expression of rage against Israel but against the PA too.

and you see part of the problem. These are confused rage-infused mental children who will hurt themselves for spite of the Juice and their own bad decision-making. Fuck em

Home Front: Culture Wars
Liberalism Must Be Destroyed
[TownHall] If you thought conservatives could "make nice" with liberals, that "both sides have the country’s best interest at heart," you were wrong. This week more of the con-jobs and character assassinations the political left is attempting have been exposed, and if it doesn’t make you realize the Liberal Industrial Complex will stop at nothing to protect itself and destroy the Trump administration, nothing will.

The economic news was all good this week, though you’d barely know it if you watched cable news. The unemployment rate dropped to 3.9 percent, which means nearly everyone who wants a job can find a job. Black and Hispanic unemployment are at the lowest rates ever recorded. Turns out all those liberal predictions of doom and gloom if Donald Trump were elected president were not only wrong, they were lies.

...I wasn’t a big believer in the "deep state," this push by the permanent power class in Washington trying to destroy the President because he crashed their party. But with every new bit of "evidence," there’s little choice but to believe it’s true. Politics is a clique where party only matters around the edges. Donald Trump didn’t work his way through the ranks, pay his dues and kiss the right rings as he ascended to the White House, he stormed the gates and cut the line. He not only didn’t "pay his dues," he beat those who did. Upsetting the apple cart is always unsettling for those who cultivate apple trees.

...I don’t know if his lawyer paying off a porn star is a technical violation of campaign finance laws, and I don’t care. I didn’t vote for Trump to marry my sister, I voted for him to be president and to make sure Hillary wasn’t. On that count, his presidency has been a smashing success.

But to the Liberal Industrial Complex, it’s a nightmare.

...Electoral politics is their domain, their path to wealth. It’s important to keep in mind that while they scream about President Trump trying to use the White House to get rich, he was already rich. He will likely be the only person in the modern age to leave the White House poorer than he was going in. Meanwhile, the Clintons and Obamas went into "public service" as people of relatively modest means and amassed generational wealth in and after leaving office. Who’s corrupt again?

Donald Trump’s biggest, non-personal sin was winning. And for that, they’re trying to destroy him. And they’ll destroy anyone and everything that stands in the way of doing that, even the country, if necessary. They have the infrastructure to do it, the accomplices, and the will to do it.

Which is why they have to be destroyed first.

...This week was a stark reminder of the importance of having judges who are interested in the rule of law and the Constitution, not advancing a political agenda. That’s what is on the ballot his November. While the idea of beating back the liberal mob in the fields of science, journalism, and Hollywood is appealing and important, those are but the tentacles of the monster. The ballot box and confirmation votes in the Senate are the only way to truly destroy liberalism. I just hope we destroy it before they destroy everything.

Go back and read Eisenhower's warning. The left stops at 'military industrial complex' and buries the academic technological complex he warns of.

#12  It may be people on the right who destroy "liberalism", but it won't be "conservatives".

It will be people who have decided that rules are for suckers and decorum is for cowards. Even those of us on the right won't necessarily like how that all turns out.

Unfortunately, many "conservatives" decided that their own tranquility and good manners were more important than fighting back, or at least supporting those who do.

The wind has already been sown.

The reaping is next.
