Former Trump advisor Michael Flynn claims the COVID-19 pandemic was fabricated to distract from the 2020 election
[Business Insider] Former national security advisor Michael Flynn said that he believes the coronavirus pandemic was fabricated to distract from the 2020 election.

Flynn, who has become a prominent figure in the QAnon conspiracy theory, falsely claimed in an interview Friday that the virus was made up before November 3 last year "to gain control" of society.
"falsely claimed" that's some good Journolisming
"When you look around the world, why do all these places not have the problems that we keep getting beat over the head and shoulders on in this country when it comes to Covid?" Flynn said, according to The Independent.

"Why? Because everything, everything, and this is my truth, what I believe, everything is a distraction to what happened on November 3," he continued. "Everything we hear about Covid, and how Covid started before November 3, it is all meant to control, it is all meant to gain control of a society to be able to force decisions on society, instead of allowing 'we the people' to make decisions."

#2  Well if it wasn't "fabricated," it was most certainly exploited for political gain. I believe the community term used is...

"Cover for action"

#3  to believe Flynn you would have to believe the CCP was willing to accept hundreds of thousands of deaths in their own country and a huge hit (about a trillion dollars) to their economy just to avoid a 2nd Trump term

#4  OR: 1) it was meant to spread strategically, but 2) got away from them, neither of which has been proven. But the CCP has obviously done their best to obstruct, lie and misinform

#5  The question is: Would you put it past them?
Posted by: Abu Uluque || 05/25/2021 13:21 Comments || Top||

#6  I will acknowledge that the CCP may be evil enough to use the virus for political purposes.

However, doing so without: taking any steps to pre position vaccine or therapeutic drugs with their armed forces; planning industrial production modification under lockdown;and, providing protective gear for their medical community seems completely uncharacteristic of a regime that likes to plan everything.

#7  It was created by China in gain of function experiments. It escaped, because of lousy lab safety procedures (Chinese "scientists" are very competitive & tend to ignore anything not serving the goal). Once it escaped, Chinese had two options: contain it, or let it spread. We know that they chose. They closed Wuhan off from the rest of China, but left it open to the rest of the World. They even launched "Hug a Chinese Person" propaganda program.

To put it into proper perspective: imagine how the "World Community" would respond if Covid19 originated in Russia.

#8  the PRC did not just lock down Wuhan. They locked down several dozen cities in Hubai province by late January 2020, then a few days later, dozens of cities elsewhere in China had near lockdowns; then they put all kinds of other restrictions into motion;

#9  and, providing protective gear for their medical community seems completely uncharacteristic of a regime that likes to plan everything.

We had reports here of housewives of Chinese descent and Chinese tourists abroad emptying shops of disposable masks, gowns, and other supplies in America and Australia shortly before news about the situation in Wuhan started spreading, as well as the subsequent Chinese refusal to ship factory orders abroad, reserving all that stuff instead for domestic use even when already paid for. Inasmuch as the Chinese government could provide the supplies for medical care after the unexpected epidemic, they did so.

And yes, they did do their best to infect the rest of the world while protecting their own.

The Population Dud: Paul Ehrlich, Call Your Office
[ISSUESINSIGHTS] There’s an old saying among economists, demographers, actuaries and sociologists: "Demographics is destiny." If that’s true, and it certainly appears to be, America could be in very big trouble.

Back in 1970, leftist Stanford biologist Paul Ehrlich warned in his sensationalist book, "The Population Bomb," that overpopulation would lead to mass starvation and the depletion of our natural resources. As we all know, it didn’t happen.

Indeed, natural resources have never been more abundant, based on prices we pay, as the late economist Julian Simon predicted in making a very public1980 wager with Ehrlich about the future. Virtually every measurable form of pollution has fallen sharply in the intervening years. And billions of people were pulled out of poverty, all during a time of strong population growth.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
What to expect from Zarif's next visit to Baku and Yerevan?
Direct translation of the article
[Regnum] The head of the press service of the Iranian Foreign Ministry Said Khatibzade said that Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will visit Azerbaijan and Armenia. However, he did not name the purpose of the visit and the issues that will be discussed during Zarif's Transcaucasian tour. The last time the head of the Iranian Foreign Ministry passed this route was at the end of January this year.

But then Tbilisi, Ankara and Moscow were added to Baku and Yerevan, which looked like a probing trip. It was important for Tehran not only to assess the changes in the region that occurred after the signing by Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia of the peace agreement on November 9, 2020, which ended the second Karabakh war, but also to find its place in the new regional geopolitical reality.

Merkel Flips Off Biden's Protest – to Buy Putin's Gas
Pat Buchanan at TownHall
When the U.S. created NATO, a primary purpose of the alliance was to serve as a western wall to defend Germany against the 400,000 Russian troops on the eastern side of the Elbe River.

Seventy years later, Germany has decided to double its dependence on Vladimir Putin's Russia for the natural gas needed to run the German economy, despite the opposition of her great protector, the USA.

The Biden administration decided to waive sanctions on Matthias Warnig, the ally of Putin whose company, Nord Stream 2 AG, is laying the pipeline beneath the Baltic Sea from Russia to Germany that is now 95% complete.

When done, Nord Stream 2 will make Moscow Germany's principal supplier of natural gas, and cut Kyiv out of hundreds of millions in transit fees it annually receives for letting Russian gas pass through Ukraine to Germany.
Modern Robber, ahem, Cossacks?
...Ukraine is stunned and outraged. Its parliament, the Rada, has passed a resolution urging Congress to "use all available tools provided by US law to completely and irreversibly stop the construction of the Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline by applying blocking sanctions against all participants in this Russian geopolitical project."
What about all the money we gave to Hunter!?
Why did Biden and Blinken fold? Was it to set the table for the Biden's June summit with Putin?

The decisive factor was probably that Nord Stream 2 is just about complete and America's principal continental ally, Germany, is wholly committed to the project. Prime Minister Angela Merkel, who is leaving office this year, approved the deal with Putin's Russia and her legacy is now tied to its completion.

...Germany's dependence on Russian gas is certain to grow as Berlin, as it plans to do, phases out its coal and nuclear power plants.

This raises a question about NATO, and the commitment of its 30 members to treat an attack against one as an attack against all.

Would a Germany that is doubling its dependency on Russia for the natural gas that fuels its economy be willing to go to war against that same Russia, and send German troops to fight alongside NATO?

Would Berlin be willing to declare war on its own gas station?

#1  2018: The cause of US withdrawal enjoys significant support from everyone in Germany. They think the Yanks can't leave soon enough. "They shouldn’t be allowed to fight their battles with Russia here. Far from ensuring Europe’s security, Uncle Sam is much more likely to draw it into a war."

#7  I think ye'll missing a point here. It's the same gas - only now it's not going through Ukraine. That's all.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 05/25/2021 13:06 Comments || Top||

#8  The story here is not the gas, it's Biden's utter lack of backbone.
Posted by: Abu Uluque || 05/25/2021 13:24 Comments || Top||

#9  Admitting that one was wrong, rather than becoming involved in a pointless fight - there is no American national interest in letting Ukraine collect hundreds of millions in transit fees over gas to the production of which they contributed nothing - is not a sign of a lack of backbone.
Posted by: g(r)omgoru || 05/25/2021 13:57 Comments || Top||

#10  That's not the point either, grom. The point is: If you have a reason to put sanctions on a company, that reason doesn't go away just because Merkel wants gas. I don't give a rat's ass about Nord Stream 2 AG or Ukraine or Putin or Merkel. I just want a president who acts on principal instead of expedience.
Posted by: Abu Uluque || 05/25/2021 15:51 Comments || Top||

#11  If we didn't have a reason to sanction Mr. Warnig, then why did we? Did somebody get their panties in a bunch about something Putin did or is Warnig just as corrupt as that Burisma guy? I guess we have Pat Buchanan to thank for leaving us in the dark on that one. Either way, Biden has no backbone.
Posted by: Abu Uluque || 05/25/2021 15:57 Comments || Top||

#12  If you have a reason to put sanctions on a company, that reason doesn't go away just because Merkel wants gas.

(a) And if your reason was money paid by Ukrainians to Hunter?
(b) Since you can't stop Nord Stream 2, why be an a$$hole.

IMO, takes a lot of backbone to admit you were wrong.

p.s. Didn't you all admire Trump for admitting that Nation Building in Iraq & Afghanistan is waste of time, money, and lives?

In Serbia, a third of the population is on the verge of poverty, many are starving
Direct translation
[Regnum] Serbia, along with Albania, Macedonia and Bosnia and Herzegovina, is one of the poorest countries in Europe, and therefore the statements of its leadership about incredible economic prosperity must be taken with great skepticism. This opinion was expressed by the Serbian expert, Doctor of Economics, former Ambassador of Serbia to Belarus (from 2004 to 2011) Srechko Djukic to IA REGNUM .

We will remind that earlier the President of Serbia Alexander Vucic announced that the economic growth of his country in 2021, according to the IMF, will be 6%, which is a historic breakthrough. He also said that the average salary from January will exceed 600 euros. However, according to the English-language website worldpopulationreview.com from February 2021, Serbia is in the group of the poorest countries in Europe.

A glass of milk a day helps keep heart disease away!
[Studyfinds.org] READING, United Kingdom — A new study finds milk isn’t just good for your bones, it’s also doing plenty for your heart too. An international team finds drinking milk regularly can significantly drop the chances of suffering from heart disease.

Their findings reveal milk drinkers also have lower levels of cholesterol, which can cause blockages in the arteries and lead to a heart attack or stroke. Overall, those drinking milk each day slashed their risk of coronary heart disease by 14 percent.

Study authors based their conclusions on health information from almost two million people in the United States and United Kingdom. Those with a mutation enabling them to consume large quantities of milk were less prone to cardiovascular illnesses. Researchers note thatt previous studies have concluded that dairy products can be generally bad for your health. However, there is a growing body of evidence suggesting this idea is false.

"We found that among participants with a genetic variation that we associated with higher milk intake, they had higher BMI, body fat, but importantly had lower levels of good and bad cholesterol," says lead author Professor Vimal Karani, a nutritionist at the University of Reading, in a release.

"We also found that those with the genetic variation had a significantly lower risk of coronary heart disease. All of this suggests that reducing the intake of milk might not be necessary for preventing cardiovascular diseases."

#3  Studies show that most studies are bullshit and cannot be reproduced... assuming anyone even tries.

As a general rule, anyone trying to reduce a complicated thing, like heart disease or global warming, down to a single variable is trying to sell you something that maybe you shouldn't ought to buy.

#4  Or, the Mountain Dew/Kool-Aid/Energy Drinkers tend to not drink milk.

-Looks at Neo's Spoon-
Perhaps the recent spurt of food commodity stories and advertisements are there in order for the merchants to stay ahead of consumer habit by establishing an increased perceived value, such as 'soy is increasing in price because we could also make tires out of it', in front of both the inevitable inflation all the way across production, from seed to harvest, from egg to hot wing, transport costs and insurance regulation increases, as well as the coming food bids from china as seen with Argentina beef and European outbidding of local merchants, and why you should feel superior paying extra amounts for what food is left on the shelf.

#7  In Indian medicine, milk and buttermilk are considered very good for the heart [and not without reason]. I notice the lead author is of Indian origin.

It's one of those researches that sets out to prove something already arrived at in a different system, but difficult to sell to skeptics. So the 'scientist' uses empirical analysis and statistics. And then they buy it.
