This Is America: Grown Men Obsessed With Sports Is Weird
[Armageddon Prose] "This Is America" explores the undercurrents pulling Western civilization into the abyss.

The headline is probably un-American sacrilege or whatever. Brand me a heretic, a blasphemer. Tar and feather me with hate.

C’est la vie.

But let me get this caveat out of the way upfront: I enjoy sports. Having not owned a television myself in literal decades and having lived outside of the U.S. for almost as long, I was forced to watch the highlights on the internet, but the UGA vs. Bama SEC championship game, for example, was pretty great. My Ukrainian wife doesn’t care a lick about any sports — let alone American football that literally no one not North American patronizes — and often tells me it’s weird that I’m into it. Such is the burden of international cross-cultural marriage.

Having established my affinity for sports, fully developed men in middle age whose entire identities seem to revolve around their favorite football team appear to have something developmentally wrong with them.

There’s an entire genre of TV/talk radio featuring adult men with receding hairlines fervently discussing (sometimes screaming) their football opinions into the camera, as if they’re delivering an impassioned Pentecostal sermon on the damnation of hellfire or some other such heady existential issue of eternal life or death.

Create The Transgender Sports Federation.

Two Climate Change Activists Dead After Gluing Themselves To Ark Of The Covenant
[BabylonBee] CAIRO — What was initially a startling archeological discovery quickly turned to tragedy today, as climate change activists arrived at the site of the newly discovered Ark of the Covenant, glued their hands to it, and were immediately struck down dead.

"It was obvious they had never read their Bibles," said Dr. James Corbin, lead archeologist on the team that made the historic discovery. "They were clearly very passionate about their beliefs and wanted to warn everyone that the world is on the brink of destruction due to climate change, but they really stepped in it when they picked the Ark as the priceless artifact to glue themselves to. Bad deal."

According to witnesses, the two activists burst onto the dig site chanting about the necessity of stopping climate change. "They were yelling and marching around," said another member of the research team. "The next thing you know, they both whip out some crazy glue, squirt it all over their hands, and slap their palms down on the Ark. There was a loud clap of thunder and their bodies were lying there sizzling with their hands still stuck to the Ark. So sad."

The archeological team was left wondering how to proceed with the dig. "It's pretty inconvenient," Corbin said. "We aren't really sure what to do about these two dead bodies that are glued to the most significant historical find of our time. Do we just cut their hands off? Will we die if we touch them now? It's complicated."

At publishing time, the Museum of Egyptian Antiquities had reportedly planned to display the Ark in all its glory while draping sheets over the two unfortunate climate activists.

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
'Where did the Russian land come from?' Did Ukraine give birth to Russia?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Denis Davydov

[REGNUM] The piercing pathos of the legend that only Ukraine has the right to inherit Russia has existed almost since the time of Hetman Ivan Mazepa , who claimed that “before we were what now Muscovites are: the government, primacy and the very name of Russia passed from us to them.” . But it was formalized and went to the masses relatively recently, in the electronic era it has already become practically a cliche. Moreover, it is so convincing that many Russians believe in the story when Ukraine gave birth to Russia: “Kievan Rus” is a convincing construction in itself.

Government Corruption
Don't Let Government Get Away With Poisoning Americans: Hawley
[ZERO] This year, Americans had the opportunity to revisit the origins of our nation’s nuclear program with the blockbuster film "Oppenheimer." But there’s one story line that didn’t make the big screen: those Americans who are still paying the price.

For decades, the federal government poisoned an untold number of its citizens through our atomic program. It happened everywhere, impacting uranium mine workers in Texas, Native Americans living downwind from nuclear tests in the Mountain West, and communities exposed to Manhattan Project waste in Missouri. And that’s just a small sample. Thousands more were poisoned, sickened, and died. Lives were broken — all because our government was careless, and then covered it up.

Now, the law that delivers some justice and compensation to these victims is about to expire. Congress must include a reauthorization of this life-changing program as part of the annual defense bill. It’s our chance to give justice to victims who have been silenced and forgotten for years.

#1  In my home state of Missouri, mismanaged nuclear waste from the Manhattan Project era sat exposed for years and contaminated communities in the St. Louis region – and now these areas have elevated cancer rates.

#2  Had an Uncle that worked the Savannah River Plant in the 50-60's. He frequently came home in a paper suit. He died of cancer 1st and then her 5 years later.

To give y'all an idea of how Rad-Hot the even the dumped stuff was. In the 1960's there was a incident of a covey of Quail found dead after crossing a waste disposal site on a side road. They killed even the Buzzards that came in to feast and dug up the road and brought in fresh dirt and pavement.
