'Most Americans angry at bad economy'
[Iran Press TV] As midterm Congressional elections in the US near, new ABC News-Yahoo poll shows nearly ninety percent of Americans are "angry" about the bad economy.

The poll also shows that over fifty percent of Americans blame both parties for the economic mess while 35 percent say they are angrier with the Democrats than with Republicans. This anger might translate into how Americans will vote in the upcoming midterm Congressional elections.

All over Washington analysts are trying to explain how the deep dissatisfaction with the economy will translate into a referendum on the B.O. regime's handling of the US economy.

"And in the economy this bad, the party that is in charge is generally held accountable for what is going on. And so while republicans may not be everybody's ideal alternative to the party in power, they are the only alternative to the party in power," said Alexander Burns, an analyst from Politico.

"When you look at the way the conversation about the economy is playing out and in a lot of these races you see the candidates are not just saying we need changes in economy but they are saying that Washington is incapable of fixing the economy," Burns added.

The poll is supported by another newly released public opinion survey conducted by the Bloomberg organization. It found that Obama's message of hope which got him elected has now faded amongst his supporters with fewer than half of those who supported his election in 2008 now approving of his job performance. It can be interpreted as another sign that when millions of people go to the polls on November 2nd, 'change' will be in the wind.

#4  I wonder; does Iran Press TV package these stories for domestic consumption? Do the mullahs really want to remind their people of countries where elections matter?

#5  nearly ninety percent of Americans are "angry" about the bad economy. I don't care much for the current arrogant Washington dictatorship that tries to shove health care, stimulus plan, cap and trade, global warming, etc. down our throats and asks us to shut up and like it.

#6  dang, James, the Iranians are talking about our economy???

Yep, Karl, even the mullahs can stumble on to something resembling the truth once in a while...I think the numbers are low.

Heck even the wife mate is angry about the economy so I say 100% of the Americans are angry.

#7  In a word the “Angry about the econonomy” narrative is Bullshit. It’s an extension of the tired old “Angry White Male” canard. The basic concept is that some people are simply motivated by their irrational beliefs. (Pick your phobia or –ism.) It’s the excuse liberals propogate when they can’t explain why their ideas and policies aren’t popular. It’s not surprising ABC conducted a poll using the “angry” descriptor right before the mid-term elections. ABC news anchor Peter Jennings was one of the pioneers of this concept.

"Some thoughts on those angry voters. Ask parents of any two-year-old and they can tell you about those temper tantrums: the stomping feet, the rolling eyes, the screaming. It's clear that the anger controls the child and not the other way around. It's the job of the parent to teach the child to control the anger and channel it in a positive way. Imagine a nation full of uncontrolled two-year-old rage. The voters had a temper tantrum last week....Parenting and governing don't have to be dirty words: the nation can't be run by an angry two-year-old."
-- ABC World News Tonight anchor Peter Jennings in his daily ABC Radio commentary, November 14. 1994

And how can we forget…

And it's not surprising then they get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy toward people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations.

#8  Be angry with yourselves than. Constantly voting for democrats will put us all out of work in the name of the lie in the sky make believe economics where 2+2=8. Only two types of people ever vote for that disgusting political party, the on the take, or the stupid. The political class represents the country, and in this case the whores in Washington DC do not make it look like America is a smart country. WHORES. One issue voters. Covetous, filth, murderers, grafters, race baiters, pimps, acorns, seius, the media, the LAWLESS.

#9  What anger there is, relates to a political class pursuing the useless and harmful while studiously avoiding measures that would punish the outlaws and/or improve the situation for the rest of us, e.g. Eric Holder cracking down on 'hate crimes' while doing nothing about the biggest thieves and fraudsters in world history.

#10  Charles Krauthammer, yesterday, called it a highly pointed, perfectly rational anger at the ideological overreach and incompetence of the governing Democrats.

#11  I am not "angry" - I am FURIOUS! We currently have in Washington, DC, a government that refuses to be accountable for its behavior, while at the same time saddling the rest of us with unsustainable debt and nation-destroying over-regulation. If the election in November doesn't bring about a change, I for one will begin reaching for the cartridge box in desperation. I doubt I'll be alone.

#12  Be angry with yourselves than.

Part of the anger is being hectored and preached at by the current elite.

I suspect they dislike it coming from the rightward side of the political spectrum as much they dislike it as it's currently coming from the left.

#13  I just now took a call form some polling organization, asking if I would take the time (About 5 minutes of my time, so the caller said)to answer some questions about the upcoming election. First question, was I a registered voter in Bexar County? Yes, indeedy. Second question - was I or anyone in the household employed by a news organization, or involved in a particular political campaign ... and I answered that I was active in a local Tea Party organization. Oh, she couldn't cut me off fast enough. I think I still have scorch-marks on my ear.
Interesting times, people. Interesting times.

#14  Be angry with yourselves than.

Not when the system is rigged. This is one year both parties are more than happy that the American people don't have the option of "None of the Above".

Senate Democrat leader battling to save Nevada seat
Harry Reid, the most powerful Democrat in the United States Senate, is battling to save his career after coming off second best in a bruising televised debate with his Tea Party rival Sharron Angle, a former teacher and grandmother with no national political experience

#2  Reid covers one lie with another.

#3  I watched the entire debate. Reid's strategy appeared to be "Lie Your Ass Off." No point even fact checking him. Every word he uttered was untrue. It was bizzaro world.
