-Short Attention Span Theater-
36 Obama aides owe $833,000 in back taxes
Perhaps the IRS should take action to collect these dollars before raising taxes on businesses and the little people

-Election 2012
Feds expanding state access to immigration database for purpose of voter roll cleansing
Sort of, anyway.
To check against the database, states will have to provide a "unique identifier," such as an "alien number," for each person in question. Alien numbers generally are assigned to foreigners living in the country legally, often with visas or other permits such as green cards.

The database isn't likely to catch undocumented Democrats who may have managed to get on the voter rolls, since those individuals likely wouldn't have an alien number.

#1  And therfore we call BS!

#2  Without photo ID necessary, ballots not in English only and intimidation at the polls this concerns me.
I'm still angry over illegals being able to get a US drivers license, as I'm sure many have registered to vote going this route. When I went to Europe, I got an International drivers license that was acceptable.
It angers me that people will vote to keep getting their benefits, and not vote for the best future of America.

#3  When I went to Europe, I got an International drivers license that was acceptable.

But when one lives there, the international driver's licence is only good for one year, by the end of which time one must get a local licence...registered as a foreign resident.

It's right to ensure that foreigners prove they know the local rules of the road and have the requisite skills to use them without being a danger to themself and others. Perhaps we need to add an extra box next to M/F, corrected vision, and organ donar about citizenship.

#4  BS is right, not week ago the feds were fighting this.

IIRC if you are not on a tourist visa, you have to provide an address where you can be located or have claims of residence/household.

They've pushed any meaningful action out past the election. It's all or nothing, it seems.

#7  When I saw the headline the first thing that went through my mind was that the feds must be gaming the system so that access to the database is now meaningless.

#8  I guess that means we can stop funding this program and anything depending on it.

It almost reads like they want to keep Vietnamese immigrants from voting but noone else.

#10  TW, thanks you, that's why I love this site as I'm always learning, it's appreciated. Although I do feel rather exposed showing my ignorance about the license.
I do like the extra citizenship box ;)

#11  Jan dear, you know a great many things I can't even guess at, and you share your knowledge generously. I'm happy to put my own little mite into the general pot in return.
