I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach
[FoxNews] There has been an overwhelming media blackout of one of the most talked-about moments from the Virginia gubernatorial debate between Terry McAuliffe and Glenn Youngkin.
Education has been a top issue in the tight race for Virginia's governor being closely watched across the country and is widely seen as a bellwether for the upcoming 2022 midterms.
During Tuesday's matchup, the Republican challenged the former Democratic governor for vetoing a bill that would have allowed parents to be informed about materials provided in Virginia schools after citing examples of books featuring pedophilia and other sexually explicit content that were recently voiced by parents.
"I'm not going to allow parents to come into schools and actually take books out, make their own decision," McAuliffe defended the veto. "Yeah, I stopped the bill that- I don't think parents should be telling schools what they should teach."

Jeremy decided his desire to protect and defend the American people and the TRUTH are more important than privacy or personal safety.
Earlier this year Jeremy joined Brandon Gray on Banned.TV to describe what happened to him after he joined the Oath Keepers in November.
Jeremy explains in his recent video that the FBI called his cellphone and asked for a meeting after trying to contact him at his house. Jeremy then met with the FBI agents at a restaurant in Ybor City in December. On Thursday afternoon at 3:45 PM Eastern the FBI raided Jeremy Brown’s home and arrested Jeremy. The charge is trespassing. We were notified this morning by his family and an attorney.
The FBI searched their house, RV, and trailer. And then they arrested Jeremy and took him away.
We will update as we have more information. His family has contacted The Gateway Pundit.UPDATE (8:15 AM) : We just spoke with Jeremy’s girlfriend. She tells us Jeremy will have an appearance today in Pinellas County Court. He is charged with trespassing, a misdemeanor.
Jeremy Brown NEVER entered the US Capitol on January 6. His crime was refusing to be an FBI informant.
The FBI sent 20 vehicles for the arrest. DHS and Pinellas County law enforcement were also present. The FBI was in Jeremy’s home for 5-and-a-half hours looking for evidence. We were told this morning that the FBI did not read Jeremy his rights.
Jeremy’s girlfriend is still very upset and could not sleep. She will contact The Gateway Pundit later with updates.
It should be noted that Jeremy Brown told The Gateway Pundit back in June that "scores of guys" had written him saying they were also approached by the FBI to spy on the patriot groups.

[The Detroit News] - Detroit — City Clerk Janice Winfrey on Friday acknowledged she and her husband, Tyrone Winfrey, have tens of thousands in tax liens on their home, but said her financial struggles aren't unlike others in the city and she's been on a payment plan.
Winfrey spoke in response to state and federal tax records that show the couple have $65,000 in tax liens.
The Winfrey home is under a state lien, from April, for $9,753.01, and a federal lien, from January, for $54,701.92, records show, for a grand total of $64,454.93.
In a Friday interview with WWJ-AM (950), Winfrey, who is seeking another term as Detroit's clerk on Nov. 2, asserted that reports on the liens were "political."
"I'm sure I'm not the only citizen in this great city that owes taxes," Winfrey told the station.

I always thought Democrat Party discipline was better than what we're seeing now. But some of these donk congress critters are in a pickle. If they vote the way they're told, they are liable to lose their seats in 2022. It's kinda nice to see them experiencing such difficulties.
I'm a bit conflicted myself. If they pass the $3.5 trillion bill (or whatever it ends up costing) they are likely to suffer a crushing defeat in 2022. That would be a good thing. But this monster legislation would do all kinds of damage to our country. That would be a bad thing.
The best possible outcome would be that the legislation fails and Democrats lose in 2022 anyway. I can dream, can't I?

[Washington Examiner] Alan Dershowitz teamed up with a Texas attorney, who made the case for overturning former President Donald Trump's 2020 election loss, to file a complaint on Thursday against Dominion Voting Systems on behalf of Michigan poll challengers.
The eight plaintiffs in the class-action lawsuit allege cease-and-desist letters sent to them by Dominion, which has engaged in a number of high-dollar defamation lawsuits against fraud allegations in the 2020 election, violated the civil provision "of the Racketeer Influenced and Corrupt Organizations Act," engaged in "civil conspiracy," and denied their rights under the First Amendment and the Equal Protection Clause of the 14th Amendment, according to court documents filed in federal court.
"I believe the election was absolutely fair. I believe President Biden is the legitimately elected president. But I think the issue should be debated and should not be censored. I believe Dominion is trying to suppress free speech," Dershowitz said in an interview Friday afternoon, the Daily Beast reported .
Dershowitz, who helped Trump's Jan. 6 impeachment trial defense, is joined by Kurt Olsen, an attorney who previously presented legal arguments in favor of overturning the 2020 election results .

[Washington Examiner] President Joe Biden can't seem to settle on how to sell the nation on his $3.5 trillion spending plan. First, the White House tried to convince the country it was a "human infrastructure" bill. When voters refused to swallow that tripe, Biden highlighted the ambitious nature of the plan by selling the $3.5 trillion number itself.
"It is a zero price tag on the debt we're paying," Biden said last week. "We're going to pay for everything we spend."
Biden is really trying to convince voters that $3.5 trillion in spending would cost nothing because he plans to pay for it by raising taxes instead of issuing debt. It is hard to tell which argument is worse ‐ Biden's claim that this is an "infrastructure" bill or that it has zero cost. Both show a White House that treats voters with contempt.
That is over-generously accepting Biden's claim that his $3.5 trillion spending bill won't add to the debt, even though it is quite obviously false.
