Marines told to stop using 'sir,' 'ma'am' to avoid 'misgendering' superiors
[NYPOST] No more "Yes, sir!"The US Marines may ban recruits from respectfully addressing senior members as "sir" or "ma’am" to avoid "misgendering" and offending them.
[Salutes Smartly] Right, bub.

Presumably the University of Pittsburgh study considered addressing officers of other services within the US armed forces, and addressing officers of allied forces. No doubt.

And the other services and allies are all on board with this neutered language.

Sure am glad the Corps didn't waste any money on developing new and better weapons systems. They can still get by bitching they get stuff the National Guard won't touch anymore. Yes... ummm... sir.

Back in my day we could tell what sex another person was, officer or enlisted. Salutes were a gesture of respect among ranks. If you got one, you returned it. There were little clues we had, like if the person was wearing a dress he/she/it got a "ma'am," assuming officer and you said anything. When we were in the field there were still clues; men had haircut regs, so if there was no ponytail it was probably a guy. If a female wore her hair really short, there was always chest conformation, which could admittedly be unreliable wearing TA-50. So if you were a lady and somebody called you "sir" you could probably get by with a simple verbal correction, rather than a two-hour lecture and calling the local cops.

Write a letter to your congresscreature.

The woke recommendation was made in a new $2 million report commissioned by the Corps from the University of Pittsburgh.

The exhaustive, 738-page study that the Marines first commissioned in 2020 said traditional ways of addressing superiors were holding back gender integration.
Well, poop in my hat, we couldn't have that! Forsooth and Fort Smith!
"Employing gender-neutral identifiers eliminates the possibility of misgendering drill instructors, which can unintentionally offend or cause discord," the study said.
How in the name of R.Lee Christ does one "misgender" a drill instructor? I'd pay a dollar to watch that.
"By teaching recruits to use gender-neutral identifiers for their drill instructors, Services underscore the importance of respecting authoritative figures regardless of gender."
Back in my day we did that without a 736-page study. Officer? Salute. NCO or enlisted, don't salute. Oh, wait, Medal of Honor, don't care which, salute. Are you an officer and you didn't get saluted, bitch 'em out. Tell 'em to get a haircut, too. No gender involved. Are you an officer and you're hungry? CHECK AND MAKE SURE THE EM AND NCOs HAVE FINISHED EATING! Rank hath both privileges and responsibilities, or used to.
The two-year study by the University of Pittsburgh’s Warrior Human Performance Research Center also said that "the Army, Navy, and Coast Guard effectively de-emphasize gender in an integrated environment."
They do?
"Instead of saying ’ma’am’ or ’sir,’ recruits in these Services refer to their drill instructors using their ranks or roles followed by their last names," it said.

"Gendered identifiers prime recruits to think about or visually search for a drill instructor’s gender first, before their rank or role."

Col. Howard Hall, chief of staff for Marine Corps Training and Education Command, told the Defense Advisory Committee on Women in the Services this month that the radical shift was being considered by leadership — albeit with some pushback, the Marine Corps Times said.
"YES, DRILL SERGEANT!"

#1  So this is just for recruits or does it carry on to folks in the fleet?

That might be a problem if it does as those Marines might come up with 'novel' misgendering conventions.

Bankman-Fried's ex-girlfriend and FTX co-founder plead guilty to fraud charges
[NYPOST] The ex-girlfriend of disgraced crypto mogul Sam Bankman-Fried and a co-founder of FTX pleaded guilty to fraud charges in the collapse of the cryptocurrency exchange and are both cooperating with federal prosecutors, officials announced Wednesday night.

Caroline Ellison, the former CEO of Bankman-Fried’s crypto hedge fund company Alameda Research, and Gary Want, a co-founder of FTX, pleaded guilty to the criminal offenses before Bankman-Fried landed back in New York to face his own charges, Manhattan US Attorney Damian Williams said in a Wednesday night statement.

The charges filed against the pair were "in connection with their roles in the frauds that contributed to FTX’s collapse," Williams said.

"Both Ms. Ellison and Mr. Wang have plead guilty to those charges and they are both cooperating with the Southern District of New York."

News of the charges came after Bahamian authorities handed Bankman-Fried over to FBI custody. He was flown back to New York Wednesday night and will appear in front of a federal judge "as soon as possible," the US attorney said.

Congress' 11th-hour $1.7 trillion 'omnibus' spending bill: an insane way to run the country
[NYPOST] Nearly three months late, with just days left before the holidays and under the threat of a looming government shutdown, Congress is finally doing most of this year’s work by passing an "omnibus" spending bill.

What a truly insane way to run the government.

On Tuesday, the Senate voted to move the $1.7 trillion, 4,155-page legislative whopper to keep the government funded for the rest of the 2024 fiscal year, which began Oct. 1. Leadership hopes to finalize it this week — before a partial government shutdown takes effect at 11 p.m. Friday.

Why the delay and last-minute rush, when politicians had a whole year to get this done? No emergency derailed the "normal" process: This has just become the new "normal," as Congress now routinely winds up in this mess — at least half-intentionally, as many think an omnibus is the best chance to get their way.

Indeed, it’s failed to pass all appropriations bills on time for 26 straight years now: The last time it met the Oct. 1 deadline was 1996.

Taxpayers feel the pain of politicians' wasteful and absurd $1.7 trillion spending plan
[NYPOST] Congress will soon vote on the 4,155-page omnibus bill that was crafted in a back room by half a dozen congressional leaders. No amendments will be permitted on the House or Senate floors and members of Congress will get no time to read the bill before rubber-stamping $1.7 trillion-plus in new spending.

Here are a few gems from this "No Boondoggle Left Behind" blunderbuss:
  • “Monuments to Me” in the bill commemorate politicians’ generosity with other people’s money — including the “Speaker Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi
Retiring Congresswoman-for-Life from the San Francisco Bay Area, born into a family of professional politicians. On-again-off-again Speaker of the House. It's not her fault when they lose, but it's her accomplishment when they win. Noted for her heavily botoxed grimace and occasional senior... uhhh... moments...
Federal Building” in San Francisco and the “Nancy Pelosi Fellowship Program” for the State Department. Sen. Patrick Leahy (D-Vt.) finagled his name onto the Patrick Leahy Lake Champlain Basin Program. Sen. Richard Shelby (R-Ala.) also got his name on an FBI training facility even though “almost everything in Alabama is already named after him,” according to Scott Parkinson of the Club for Growth.

  • $3.6 million for the Michelle Obama Trail in DeKalb, Ga. Perhaps the four-mile trail will be a consolation prize for Michelle after her signature “Let’s Move” campaign dismally failed to end childhood obesity.
The little brats still won't eat their kale.
  • The omnibus bill authorizes a chauffeur for the Commissioner of Internal Revenue. But there is no relief for taxpayers who get run over by IRS agents racing to meet quotas for seizing citizens’ paychecks and bank accounts.

  • The bill includes an earmark of $2 million for the office of New York City Mayor Eric Adams “for improving coordination between social agencies to support children and families.” Is a federal bribe necessary for local government agencies to exchange emails?

  • $200 billion is budgeted for the Gender Equity and Equality Action Fund, part of President Biden’s glorious worldwide crusade for the rights of females. Will that program include sending condolence cards to the women of Afghanistan?
    While they can read?
Or maybe all the money will be fizzled for zany projects like “Women’s Economic Empowerment through Gender Sensitive Value Chain Interventions” in Albania.

  • The bill grants Food and Drug Administration agents sweeping new power over cosmetics. How long until the FDA causes shortages of lipstick and mascara like it did with infant formula?

  • The bill provides massive subsidies to encourage the continuing tidal wave of illegal immigration while banning spending any funds “to construct border fencing in certain areas,” according to the Heritage Foundation. While scoffing at safeguarding the US border, Congress is sending $410 million for “enhanced border security” to Jordan, Lebanon, Egypt, Tunisia and Oman, according to Rep. Dan Bishop (R-NC).

  • $7.5 million is authorized for “research targeted toward developing a better understanding of the domestic radicalization phenomenon, and advancing evidence-based strategies for effective intervention and prevention.” The feds will “research radicalization” in lieu of ceasing to rile up people by trampling the Constitution.
Depends on which people you're talking about.
  • Congress is dolloping out $1.5 million for the COVID-19 American History Project. That program is more likely to have rows of Anthony Fauci Bobbleheads than to include the sordid details of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Institutes of Health browbeating Twitter to censor critics who exposed the deceits of federal policymakers. To fill the fearmongering void caused by Fauci’s retirement, the omnibus bill creates a new White House pandemic czar.

#1  LSD's understand they need to spend it now.
Because once the house (R)'s get control, the (LSD's) y will have to share it with the (R)'s who will want to spend it on their own agenda also.

BTW: If all of the $32T+/- in Congressional deficit spending was instead given to the 132M+/- "living" voters. The voters would each pocket around $242,424.00.

If just the $4.7T +/- in deficit spending done since 2020 was given to US Voters instead, it would put around $35,606.00 in each voters pocket.

I sure could use a Congressional budget earmark or 2.

Dems' absurd Trump tax goose chase sets a precedent that should have YOU worried
[NYPOST] Democrats on the House Boodle Central spent years getting ahold of former President Donald Trump
...His ancestors didn't own any slaves...
’s personal and business tax returns, supposedly for proper legislative purposes. But days later, the committee is set to publicly release them — proving that it was always just a search for dirt and/or any possible way to embarrass him.

Even setting aside the dishonest arguments to the courts to get the returns, this grotesque abuse of power sets a terrible precedent: Why shouldn’t Republicans go for Hunter Biden’s returns when they take over? Or anyone else’s they merely think looks shady? What if the Dems do more of the same down the road?

Yes, Trump broke the precedent of recent decades by not releasing returns on his own. But it’s never been the law, and voters decided for themselves what it meant.

Even now, no one’s accusing him of any specific tax wrongdoing. Democrats claim to be upset that the IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
didn’t audit him while he was in office, but that’s not Trump’s fault.

By the way, the info so far shows merely that Trump in some of his years as prez paid a lot in federal income taxes; in others, not much, thanks to losses. So the "news" is of a piece with The New York Times

...which still proudly displays Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

’ 2020 "scoop" on his earlier returns that also showed Trump paying as little as nothing in some prior years. Yes: That’s how taxes work, especially for guys in real estate.

Democrats’ pretense that releasing Trump’s returns is some high-minded act of "transparency" is bull. This is just Dire Revenge; it won’t even do a thing to derail any hopes for his comeback. (He’s doing a fine job of that himself.).

FBI blasts 'conspiracy theorists' over 'Twitter Files,' claims to provide 'critical information' to 'protect' company
"Nice company y'got here. Be a shame if something happened to it."
[NYPOST] The FBI said Wednesday that revelations agents pressured Twitter to muzzle its own users for so-called "misinformation" and "foreign influence" and falsely warned of a "hack-and-leak" operation involving first son Hunter Biden were just business as usual.

"The correspondence between the FBI and Twitter show nothing more than examples of our traditional, longstanding and ongoing federal government and private sector engagements, which involve numerous companies over multiple sectors and industries," the FBI told The Post in a statement in response to the latest jaw-dropping revelations from the "Twitter Files."

"As evidenced in the correspondence," the bureau went on, "the FBI provides critical information to the private sector in an effort to allow them to protect themselves and their customers.

"The men and women of the FBI work every day to protect the American public," the statement concluded. "It is unfortunate that conspiracy theorists and others are feeding the American public misinformation with the sole purpose of attempting to discredit the agency."
