Afghanistan
Angry mob kill four kidnappers and hang their bodies in Nimroz
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] At least four kidnappers were killed and their dead bodies were hanged by an angry mob in western Nimroz province of Afghanistan.

The kidnappers were initially killed in Washer district of southern Helmand
...an Afghan province populated mostly by Pashtuns, adjacent to Injun country in Pak Balochistan...
province and their dead bodies were transferred to Delaram district of Herat
...a venerable old Persian-speaking city in western Afghanistan, populated mostly by Tadjiks, which is why it's not as blood-soaked as areas controlled by Pashtuns...
, according to a report by Radio Free Europe/Radio Liberty.

Local officials in Herat province have said the four men had kidnapped a child and had taken him to Washer district.

The officials further added that the local residents of Delaram district were forced to visit Washer and find the kidnapped child.

A clash broke out between the residents of Delaram and the kidnappers after they found the location where the child was kept, local officials said, adding that all four kidnappers were killed during the clash.

The officials also added that the dead bodies of the kidnappers were hanged after they were transferred to Delaram district by the angry mob.

Nimroz is located in western Afghanistan where majority of kidnap for ransom cases take place both by criminal gangs and anti-government armed bad boys.

In the meantime, the Talibs group in Afghanistan has claimed that the kidnappers were killed by the fighters of the group and the hostage was set free.

The group following a statement said the hostage was identified as Nur ul Haq s/o Muhammad Umar who was kidnapped from Delaram district.

Taliban said the three captors were killed this morning in Chafyano Manda area of Marjah district in Helmand.

Taliban shadow district chief killed in Paktika province
[Khaama (Afghanistan)] A senior Taliban group leader was killed following a special military operation conducted by the Afghan police forces in eastern Paktika
...which coincidentally borders South Wazoo...
province.

According to local government officials the Taliban leader who was killed in the operation was identified as Masoom who was also famous as Abas.

The officials further added that Masoom was appointed as shadow district governor for Sar-e-Rawza district.

The Afghan police forces also confiscated a cycle of violence, an AK-47 assault rifle, a binocular, 5 magazines of AK-47 rifle ammunition and various other types of documents, the officials added.

The Talibs group has not commented regarding the report so far.

Paktika is among the relatively volatile provinces in eastern Afghanistan where anti-government armed Lion of Islam groups are actively operating.

Insurgents belonging to Haqqani terrorist network are also actively operating in eastern provinces of the country specifically in Paktika province.

Man linked to massacre arrested
[Daily Nation (Kenya)] A second suspect linked to last December massacres which left 64 people dead was Tuesday jugged
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
Police identified the man as Mohammed Ibrahim Bashir, 40. They said he is a resident of Mandera Town.

Police said they had reasons to believe that Bashir was an associate of Salim Abubakar Kitonga, the main suspect in the quarry and bus attacks that left the nation in shock and anger.

Kitonga was arrested in Mandera last week and has since appeared in court.

Confirming the arrest, Mandera County Police Commander Job Boronjo said several other suspects were assisting police with investigations. He said police were closing in on other main suspects.

"As of now, we cannot tell if Bashir is anybody's associate. We are working on it and I believe we will know by tomorrow," he said.

Unconfirmed reports indicate that the physically challenged Bashir is from the Nyanza region.

"I will give you more information tomorrow because we are still attempting to establish the truth about this man," Mr Boronjo told this news hound.

Egypt Sentences 230 Anti-Mubarak Activists to Life
[AnNahar] An Egyptian court Wednesday sentenced to life 230 secular activists from the 2011 revolt against long-time strongman Hosni Mubarak
...The former President-for-Life of Egypt, dumped by popular demand in early 2011...
, including leading campaigner Ahmed Douma, an official said.

Thirty-nine others, all minors, were enjugged
Keep yer hands where we can see 'em, if yez please!
for 10 years.

The verdict, which can be appealed, is the harshest delivered so far against non-Islamist activists amid a government crackdown on opponents overseen by President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi.

Hundreds of Islamist supporters of Mubarak's successor, Mohammed Morsi, have been sentenced to death after often speedy trials described by the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
as "unprecedented in recent history".

At Wednesday's hearing, all 269 defendants were convicted of taking part in festivities with security forces near Cairo's Tahrir Square in December 2011, said the judicial official who spoke on condition of anonymity.

They were also found guilty of assaulting security forces and setting alight government buildings, including a cultural centre founded in 1798 by Napoleon Bonaparte that contained more than 200,000 books.

A life sentence in Egypt is 25 years.

Douma, 26, rose to prominence during the 2011 uprising that drove Mubarak from power and was also a key protest leader against Morsi.

On Wednesday, dressed in a prison uniform, Douma was the sole defendant present in a metal cage inside the courtroom, an AFP photographer said.

All defendants except for Douma were tried in absentia, as the authorities had released the others earlier ordering them to be present as and when required.

As the verdict was read out, Douma clapped his hands, angering Judge Mohammed Negi Shehata who threatened to issue another sentence against him for contempt of court.

Douma is already serving three years for violating a law prohibiting unlicensed protests, and was also given a three year sentence at a previous hearing of the current trial for insulting the judiciary.

Defense lawyer Sameh Samir criticized Wednesday's ruling.

"The judge has been biased against the defendants and their lawyers since the start of the trial," Samir said.

"He referred the defense lawyers to prosecution, he barred us from attending the hearings and now he has issued an unprecedented verdict in Egypt's history."

At a previous hearing, Judge Shehata had called for the prosecution to investigate five defense lawyers for insulting the judiciary.

Douma's brother Mohammed lashed out at the verdict.

"It's an incredibly exaggerated sentence. It's a sentence against the revolution and shows personal hatred of the judge against the revolution and the activists," Mohammed told AFP.

"This was expected of him."

Shehata has presided over several trials of dissidents since then army chief Sisi ousted Morsi in July 2013.

On Monday, he confirmed death sentences against 183 men convicted of killing 13 coppers in a town near Cairo, in a verdict criticized by international rights groups.

Shehata had also sentenced three al-Jazeera journalists to between seven and 10 years in a trial that prompted international outrage.

That verdict was overturned and a retrial was ordered by an appeals court in January.

One of the three journalists, Australian Peter Greste, was freed and deported Sunday under a presidential decree.

Rights groups and critics of Sisi say authorities are using the judiciary as an arm to repress any form of dissent, including from secularists like Douma.

Amnesia Amnesty International's Hassiba Hadj Sahraoui said Monday's death sentences were "yet another example of the bias of the Egyptian criminal justice system."

The London-based rights watchdog said the sentences were passed at a time when "the case against former president Hosni Mubarak, involving the killing of hundreds of protesters during the uprising, has been dropped."

In November a court dropped murder charges against Mubarak.

If he walks free it would spur accusations against Sisi that he is reviving the Mubarak era.

Mubarak's sons Alaa and Gamal -- symbols of corruption during their father's rule -- have also been released pending a retrial, four years after they were arrest in the wake of the uprising.

Foreigners, Diplomats Warned to Leave Egypt or Be Targeted for Jihad
[FREEBEACON] An Islamist organization sympathetic to the Moslem Brüderbund is warning all foreigners and diplomats to flee Egypt by the end of February or face becoming "a target by the Revolutionary Punishment Movement," according to a recent warning posted online by a Brotherhood-affiliated site and read live on television by one of its broadcast organs.

The statement issues a threat to "all foreign nationals," "all foreign companies," and all "embassy foreigners, diplomats, and ambassadors," ordering them to leave Egypt by the end of the month or face violent attacks, according to an independent translation of the Arabic statement.

Foreign travelers also are warned to "cancel their trips" and told "they are not welcome to Egypt during these difficult days."

The warning comes just a week after Brotherhood leaders and allies were hosted for a meeting at the State Department, which drew fierce criticism from the Egyptian government.

It also follows a similar statement by the Brotherhood urging its supporters to prepare for a "long, uncompromising jihad" in Egypt.

The latest threat was issued by an anti-government group identifying itself as "The Youth of the Revolution." The statement was published late last week on a Brotherhood-affiliated Facebook page and also read on a Brotherhood-affiliated television station operating out of Turkey.

Gunmen storm Libya's al-Mabrook oilfield
[REUTERS] Gunmen have stormed the al-Mabrook oilfield in central Libya, oil and military officials said on Wednesday, the latest oil facility hit by violence in the North African country.

Armed factions allied to two rival governments controlling different parts of the oil producer are fighting for control of Libya four years after the ousting of leader Muammar Qadaffy
...a proud Arab institution for 42 years, now among the dear departed, though not the dearest...
Oil output has fallen to a fifth of what Libya used to produce as major oil ports and fields have been knocked out in a conflict Western powers fear will tear apart the country.

"Unknown gunnies stormed the Mabrook oilfield last night," National Oil Corp (NOC) front man Mohammed El Harari said, without providing details.

Operations at the field, located south of Sirte, were closed following festivities which shut the Es Sider oil port in December. It used to pump 40,000 barrels a day. La Belle France's Total, which operates the field with NOC, said it had already withdrawn staff from the site.

It was not clear whether NOC had employed expatriate staff at the field located in a remote corner of the desert nation.
An Nahar adds:
5 Foreigners among 13 Killed in Libya Oil Field Attack

Gunmen in Libya killed 13 people, including five foreigners, in an overnight attack on a oil field partially owned by La Belle France's Total, a chief security officer said on Wednesday.

"Eight Libyans, three Filipinos and two Ghanians were killed in the attack" at the al-Mabruk field, said officer Hakim Maazzab, the head security guard at a nearby oil complex.

"All of them had their throats slit apart from one Libyan, who was rubbed out."

Nine Chadian soldiers, 200 Boko Haram killed in clash

, killing "over 200" Islamist snuffies in a border town that it wrested from the rebels in a ground offensive.

Nine Chadian soldiers were also killed and 21 injured Tuesday in Gamboru as regional forces took the fight against the turbans on to Nigerian soil for the first time, the Chadian army said.

"This toll is provisional," the Chadian military said in a statement, adding that troops were still combing the town on Nigeria's border with Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
for lingering rebel elements.

Around 2,000 Chadian troops backed by armoured vehicles poured across the border into Gamboru on Tuesday after the African Union

last week backed a regional force to take on the bully boys.

The sound of automatic gunfire could be heard today in the town, which has been abandoned by residents after a barrage of air strikes by Chad in the run-up to its offensive, an AFP journalist reported.

While the operation in Gamboru continued, the town of Fotokol on the other side of the border, in Cameroon, came under fresh attack from the jihadists.

Boko Haram Militants Attack in Cameroon

ian soldiers.

Witnesses say the Nigerian Death Eaters entered the town of Fotocol, on the Cameroon-Nigerian border, and attacked Chadian military positions. Heavy gunfire was reported in the area.

Chadian authorities said its soldiers repelled Boko Haram Death Eaters in Fotocol Tuesday and chased them into the Nigerian town of Gamburu. Chad's government on Wednesday claimed nine of its soldiers and more than 200 Death Eaters were killed.
So that's what it looks like when it's done right.

They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS), in what local media said was the first arrest of a Turkish citizen linked to the jihadist group.

The man, identified as Musa Goktas from Ankara, illegally crossed into Syria in October with his 15-year-old twin sons to join the jihadist group, the online newspaper Radikal said Wednesday.

He was arrested on his way back to Ankara in late January, during a police search of a bus in the southeastern province of Gaziantep, near the border with Syria.

Radikal said Goktas was returning home to sell his house, settle his debts and take his wife with him back to Syria.

An arrest warrant had been issued for him after his wife told the police that her husband might have kidnapped her sons to force them to join IS, the report said.

"I wanted to live by my faith and wanted to join IS which I felt close to, because of the way they practiced our religion," Goktas was quoted as telling a preliminary court hearing in Ankara to decide on his pre-trial detention.

The 38-year-old suspect reportedly admitted to taking his sons into an area of Syria controlled by Islamic State, which hired the trio as cooks, paying them each a monthly salary of $90 (79 euros).

He was remanded in jug pending his trial.

Radikal said it was the first time a Turkish citizen were tossed into the calaboose over links to IS.

In a separate development, the Turkish army said on its website that four suspected IS members had been "captured" in the southeast of the country.

There were no immediate further details.

Turkey has long been accused of not doing enough to stem the flow of jihadists seeking to join Islamic State, which has captured large swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq.

According to Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu, up to 700 Turkish nationals have joined IS.

A police report in January said there were about 3,000 people with links to IS forces of Evil in Turkey and warned of possible attacks.

Ankara says it has stepped up border security and that Western countries also have a responsibility to share intelligence about would-be jihadists who use Turkey as a gateway to Syria.

India-Pakistan
Pakistan Military Says 25 Militants Killed in Air Strikes
[AnNahar] Pakistain's military said it killed 25 bandidos Death Eaters in air strikes on tribal regions near the Afghan border Wednesday as part of a major offensive against the Taliban and other murderous Moslems.

The strikes took place in the Sanzila area of South Wazoo and Tirah in Khyber, the military said in a statement.

"In precise aerial strikes, 25 bad boyz were potted and seven hideouts were destroyed," the statement added.

The conflict zone is off-limits to journalists, so there is no way to independently verify the number and identity of those killed.

Pakistain began a long-awaited push to clear murderous Moslem bases from North Waziristan last June after a bloody Taliban attack on Bloody Karachi
...formerly the capital of Pakistain, now merely its most important port and financial center. It is among the largest cities in the world, with a population of 18 million, most of whom hate each other and many of whom are armed and dangerous...
airport finally sank faltering peace talks.

Air strikes, artillery, mortars and ground troops have all been used to take back territory.

The semi-autonomous tribal areas on the Afghan border have for years been a hideout for Islamist bandidos Death Eaters of all stripes, including al-Qaeda and the Pak Taliban as well as imported muscle such as Uzbeks and Uighurs.

Kobane: ISIS militants destroy mosques and shrines before withdrawal
[ARA] Before withdrawing from the town of Sheran in southeastern Kobane, gunnies of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. group (IS/ISIS) reportedly demolished mosques and bombed a shrine aside from destroying most residential buildings in the center of the Kurdish town.

Speaking to ARA News in Kobane, Mustafa Abdi, the director of Radio ARTA.FM who was able to get access to the eastern areas of the city, said that the shrine of Sheikh Srouji, which dates back to hundreds of years in the town Sheran was completely destroyed by the IS myrmidons.

"They bombed the shrine before their expulsion by the Kurdish forces from the town," he added.

In the meantime, Kurdish sources reported that the mosque and shrine of the village of Korpinkar in southeastern Kobane had been blown up as well, in a move described by observers as a "hostile act" against the Islamic religion and places of worship.

Previously, the IS turbans destroyed most of the mosques and shrines in central Kobane, including the shrine and the historic statue of Sheikh Bob.

#1  Sheikh Bob??? is that Baghdad Bob??

I find it hard to get either of my heads around the fact that supposedly fanatical devout Moslems are blowing up places of worship of their own faith...of course nothing they do makes sense.

I sometimes wonder if ISIS is just a collection of that 2.5% of the population that is seriously mentally disturbed with weapons and not really any particular religious agenda.

#2  Sunni vs. Shiite. Of course the 2.5% Shiite vs. Sunni seem to be just as bad. Common factor; both are a Muslim sect with a literal and strict interpretation of the Koran and Religious Laws. It's the other 55% that go along that make that 2.5% so dangerous to the rest of the world.

#5  Wahabbists destroy even Muslim "holy" places because they believe people end up idolating the buildings rather than Mohammed and his gin, er, djinn. ISTR they destroyed ancient buildings in Mecca that had connections to Mohammed, as well.

Plus, many of the mosque sites in the region have been religious sites since Hammurabi and before. They want mosques that didn't inherit their holy place status from the Akkadians.

#7  From chap 9-107 to 109

"{And [there are] those [hypocrites] who took for themselves a mosque for causing harm and disbelief and division among the believers and as a station for whoever had warred against Allaah and His Messenger before. And they will surely swear, “We intended only the best.” And Allaah testifies that indeed they are liars. Do not stand [for prayer] within it — ever. A mosque founded on righteousness from the first day is more worthy for you to stand in. Within it are men who love to purify themselves; and Allaah loves those who purify themselves. Then is one who laid the foundation of his building on righteousness [with fear] from Allaah and [seeking] His approval better or one who laid the foundation of his building on the edge of a bank about to collapse, so it collapsed with him into the fire of Hell? And Allaah does not guide the wrongdoing people."

Basically, Allah told Mohammad to burn the offending mosque (the one established by the hypocrites) and (as stated in the hadith and sunna) he did. This is the Quranic justication that the Islamic State and Boko Haram use.

A source in the Iraqi police said, earlier on Tuesday (February 3, 2015), that a number of people had been killed and maimed in the kaboom of two boom-mobiles and an improvised bomb in Salman Faeq street in Karrada district in central Baghdad.

UAE funnels funds to Gaza through Abbas rival, miffing PA
[IsraelTimes] Mohammed Dahlan, considered a powerful potential challenger to PA president, has been courting Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,

Mohammed Dahlan, Paleostinian Authority President Mahmoud's Abbas's main political rival, has been working together with Hamas to funnel funds from the United Arab Emirates to the families of Paleostinians hurt or killed during the war in Gazoo last summer, The Times of Israel has learned.

This photo above, snapped in the UAE recently and obtained by the Times of Israel, shows Dahlan and two fellow Fatah members, decades-old arch-enemies of Hamas who were deported from Gazoo, standing alongside senior members of Hamas and Islamic Jihad

‘ISIS’ temporarily kidnaps Gaza journalist working for Dutch
[Ynet] Men claiming links to terror group hold Paleostinian journalist captive for 8 hours, beat him, interrograte about his links to Dutch diplomats.

A Paleostinian journalist who also works as advisor in the Gazoo Strip to Dutch diplomats was kidnapped and beaten by men claiming to belong to the Islamic State

group, a relative said Wednesday.

Mohammed al-Maghayer went missing Tuesday morning and was released several hours later after having been interrogated about his links to the Dutch, the relative said.

The Dutch delegation to the Paleostinian Authority in the West Bank had no immediate comment.

A medic at Gazoo City's Shifa Hospital treated Maghayer for "wounds to his legs" and he was discharged early Wednesday.

"Mohammed was kidnapped around 8:00 am near his home in Gazoo City," the relative, who spoke on condition of anonymity, told AFP.

"His abductors told him they belonged to the Islamic State group.

"They put metal handcuffs on him and drove him to some holy man's guesthouse an undisclosed location where they held him for about eight hours, asking information about himself and his work with the Dutch."

Maghayer, who said he works for the Dutch as a local advisor on Gazoo, told AFP he was "kidnapped and beaten," but made no further comment.

Hamas, always the voice of sweet reason,, which controls the Gazoo Strip, said its "security forces have launched an investigation to find who is behind this attack."

In the past few months, statements purportedly from Gazoo Islamists have been published online pledging allegiance to the Islamic State, but Moslem forces of Evil on social media dismissed them as forged.

One such statement threatened "journalists who publish false information about the Islamic State."

No known group in Gazoo has made such overtures, but experts and even Hamas, which controls the territory, has warned that instability could make it a ripe environment for forces of Evil who identify with the Islamic State.

BIFF threatens more attacks
[Manila Bulletin] The Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF) yesterday threatened more attacks and called on local residents to avoid military and police outposts or checkpoints in Maguindanao.

On Monday afternoon, BIFF spokesman Abu Misry Mama warned, "To all civilians, Christians or Muslims, living near military checkpoints, leave now because 100 percent we will launch attacks against them. Leave now so you won’t be caught in crossfire."

However, Abul Khayr Alonto, elected chairman of the surviving original members of the Moro National Liberation Front (MNLF) central committee, said the Philippines cannot afford another wide-scale armed conflict in Mindanao. He said, "Those who call for all-out-war (after the Mamasapano incident) are those who in their nightmares even don’t know the situation of war."

Misry Mama said BIFF forces are on standby ready to launch attacks and, if attacked by government forces, ready to defend itself.

He also confirmed the movement of BIFF forces along Cotabato-General Santos City National Highway two days ago that nearly led to a clash with the military. But Misry Mama clarified that they were securing some top BIFF leaders who were invited to attend a feast in Talayan area.

The BIFF also promised not to participate in any government investigation in connection with the massacre of 44 SAF commandos. Misry Mama said, "We will not subject ourselves to investigation. If the military enters enter here to investigate, we will shoot them. We are okay if civilians will investigate."

He also confirmed that the SAF operation was really meant to get Zulkilfi bin Hir alias Marwan and Abdul Basit Usman, but denied coddling the two wanted men.

Misry Mama also said that the BIFF received reports that an American was killed during the Mamasapano slaughter. He said the presence of Americans in Mindanao is to the BIFF's advantage as they will no longer have to go the United State to wage war against them. He said, "It’s good that the Americans are here. We will fight against them here. We need not spend money to go to America and fight them there."

FBI: DNA indicates Malaysian terrorist Marwan dead
[Philippine Star] The FBI has informed the Philippines that a biological sample taken from a man believed to be top terrorist Zulkifli bin Hir, alias Marwan, matched the DNA of his brother who is detained in a US facility in Guantanamo.
For now.
But the FBI said further analysis would be conducted for a more conclusive identification of the source of the DNA submitted to the bureau.

David Bowdich, the assistant director in charge of the FBI’s field office in LA, said, "Although the results of the DNA examinations do not provide absolute identification, the results do support that the biological sample provided by Philippine authorities came from Marwan."

Marwan is thought to have been killed during the raid on January 25 in Mamasapano, Maguindanao by the police Special Action Force (SAF). MILF and BIFF forces engaged the SAF in a firefight, preventing the police from taking the body, and killing 44 SAF commandos.

The SAF did, however, manage to cut off the right forefinger of the slain man. This was the specimen sent to the FBI for DNA testing.

Police Director Getulio Napeñas, who was fired as SAF commander, said yesterday he would resign if it turns out that Marwan survived.

Forty-one SAF men from the 84th Special Action Company Seaborne, acting as the assault team, raided a house in Barangay Pidsandawan where Marwan was believed to be hiding, while 36 commandos from the 55th SAC served as blocking force.

An undetermined number of SAF men from the 45th SAC were supposed to reinforce their embattled comrades but the MILF in Barangay Tukanalipao engaged them in a gun battle before they could get near the 55th SAC team.

Picture of Would-Be Arsal Suicide Bomber Circulated as Army Continues Shelling Militants
[AnNahar] Security reports Wednesday unveiled that a jacket wallah from the northeastern border town of Arsal will blow himself up against "civilian or military gatherings," as the army continued to target jihadist gunnies positioned in the town's outskirts.

The state-run National News Agency stated that security forces have obtained information about "Mahmoud Abdul Karim Hmayyed's intention to carry out a suicide operation."

Hmayyed is 21 years old and his mother's name is Nafisa Hmayyed, according to the security memo that was published by NNA.

The agency said that the would-be suicide bomber's target is "civilian or military gatherings."

After posting his picture, the NNA published a request from the authorities calling on "everyone who identifies Hmayyed or knows where he is to quickly inform any security department."

The Lebanese army has been battling the Syria-based Islamist snuffies who are entrenched on the mostly non-existent border between Leb and Syria since several months.

Meanwhile,
...back at the bunker, his Excellency called the chief of staff and complained that the artillery was keeping him awake...
the NNA reported Wednesday that "the army shelled the turbans' positions along the Eastern Mountain Belt as a rocket landed between the towns of al-Fakiha and al-Labweh."

However,
a good lie finds more believers than a bad truth...
al-Labweh municipal chief Ramez Amhaz denied reports that a rocket had landed between al-Lawbeh and al-Fakiha.

Syria Kurds Advance, Face 'no Resistance' Near Kobane
[AnNahar] Syrian Kurdish forces made fresh advances Wednesday near the flashpoint town of Kobane, bringing the number of villages they have recaptured from the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. group to 50, a monitor said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights said the Kurdish People's Protection Units (YPG), backed by rebel fighters, "are continuing to advance in the countryside of Kobane, facing no resistance from the IS".

Speaking to AFP, Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman said the YPG's advance over the past week has been "speedy".

"As soon as the YPG enters into a village, the IS withdraws its fighters."

After nearly five months of fighting for Kobane, which is strategically located on the Turkish border, the YPG recaptured the town on January 26.

Battles then broke out for 350 villages surrounding the town.

So far, the Kurds have reclaimed 50 of those villages, according to the Observatory.

"The number of villages reclaimed by the YPG... has risen to 50," the Britannia-based group said.

The YPG's advances come amid fresh US-led coalition air strikes against IS positions around Kobane.

According to the Pentagon, coalition warplanes carried out 11 strikes against IS positions in the area from Tuesday to Wednesday morning.

The Observatory says 10 IS bandidos snuffies have been killed in fighting around Kobane since the Kurds reclaimed the town.

Terror Networks
Jordanian King Personally Participating in Sorties Against ISIS
His security team -- and all the other security teams -- must be having kittens.
Jordan€™s King Abdullah is reportedly personally involved in executing air strikes against Islamic State positions in the aftermath of the terrorist group’s brutal execution of Jordanian pilot 1st Lt. Moaz Kasasbeh.

Shafaqna news and Iraqinews.com claimed to have confirmed with their sources that King Abdullah is personally involved in conducting the air strikes. What remains unclear is whether Abdullah is personally suiting up and flying a plane, or instead commanding units involved in the mission.

“The Jordanian King Abdullah II will participate personally on Thursday in conducting air strikes against the shelters of the terrorist ISIL organization to revenge the execution of the Jordanian pilot [Kasasbeh] by the ISIL,” said the IraqiNews report.

Others on social media have reported similar statements.

Jordanian Author Waleed Abu Nada Tweeted on Wednesday afternoon, “Local reports here in Jordan say that King Abdullah will personally fly and lead the airstrikes against ISIS tomorrow.”

Middle East commentator Joseph Braude wrote on Twitter: “Reports that Jordanian King Abdullah, himself a pilot, will fly sorties on ISIS targets.”

Before assuming the throne, Abullah II was a Major General in charge of Jordanian Special Forces. Abdullah is also certified as a Cobra Attack Helicopter Pilot. In 1980, he joined the UK’s Royal Military Academy Sandhurst and was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the British Army.

Jordanian air strikes on Wednesday neutralized at least 55 Islamic State jihadists, including a top Islamic State commander who was known as the “Prince of Nineveh,” according to reports.
Hupineger Glomomp0036, posting at the same time, added this link and comment:
King Abdullah is, apparently, taking the murder of his pilot personally.

..and we still have this:

group (IS/ISIS) announced the deployment of police patrols, known as "al-Hisba", in the town of Margada, south of the city of Hasakah in northeastern Syria, in an attempt to administer the security zone and implement rules and regulations issued by the group in the area, locals reported on Wednesday.

Speaking to ARA News in Hasakah, civil rights activist Ahmed Husseini said that the IS bandidos hard boyz deployed patrols to apply more restrictions on residents of the area, forcing shops to close at prayer times, banning smoking, and controlling the permissible dress of women.

"Al-Hisba group is entrusted with the educational control as well," he said.

"The IS group also announced the development of its own curriculum to be taught in the town's schools," Husseini added, pointing out that the radical group has selected competent teachers and specialists to teach the new curriculum in Margada as well as other Syrian areas under the group's control.

Additionally, the IS group started preparing legislative courses for those who would like to teach at the Islamic State's schools. The new curriculum will include subjects such as the Arabic language, Sharia, science, history, physics and geography.

Notably, the Islamic State announced in January, 2014, the formation of security units (al-Hisaba) in the al-Hol sub-district, in the eastern countryside of Hasakah, in northeastern Syria, to administer the region's security and its military as well as public institutions.
