Furious Seattle cops confront Antifa for barricading a police precinct with SNOW to stop patrol cars responding to emergency calls during storm
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news]
  • Protesters in Seattle blocked a police precinct with snow on Saturday night

  • They created a ramp three feet high outside the East Precinct building

  • The East Precinct was the epicenter of violent protest over the summer

  • Officers scuffled with the demonstrators after the police complained about it

  • The Washington state city saw up to a foot of snow fall overnight on Friday

The East Precinct was the epicenter of anti-police protest this summer. From June 8 until July 1 the building was abandoned, and the Capitol Hill Occupied Protest (CHOP) sprung up around it. CHOP was forced out on July 1.

On August 24 a man from Alaska tried to set fire to the East Precinct, and was charged with arson.

A month later molotov cocktails were thrown at the building by rioters.

'Antifa goons blocked the exit of the East Precinct with a pile of snow tonight, in an effort to stop vehicles from responding to emergency calls,' said one person, posting a picture on Instagram.

Raids were launched by security forces across 40 of Turkey’s 81 provinces, mostly Kurdish-majority provinces in southeast of the country, against suspected members of the PKK on Monday on the 22nd anniversary of the arrest of the group’s founder Abdullah Ocalan, reported Anadolu Agency (AA) citing a ministry statement.

A total of 718 people, including provincial and district heads of the HDP, were arrested by security forces in addition to the seizure of digital material, added the ministry.

ISIS threats spark evacuation of 10 villages
[NRTtv] SULAIMANI — Head of Misra Organization for Yarsan Development and Culture Rajab Kakaiy said on Monday (February 15) that Kakayis have vacated ten of their villages out of a total of fifteen in Kirkuk governorate’s Daquq district because of the threat posed by Islamic State (ISIS) militants.

He told the Kurdistan Democratic Party’s (KDP) official media outlet that the villagers did not have any problem when Peshmerga forces were in the area, but since October 2017 they have been constantly targeted by the group.

He said that ISIS continues to pose a threat to the villagers who have remained in the area.

He added that since the end of the Ba’athist regime, 254 local Kakayis have been killed for various reasons.

Also known as the Yarsan, Kakayis are a minority religious group who live in northern Iraq, the Kurdistan Region, and Iran.

1 dead, 9 wounded in rocket attacks in Erbil
[Rudaw] ERBIL, Kurdistan Region — Multiple rockets have been fired at the Kurdistan Region’s capital of Erbil, killing one and injuring several others, according to multiple sources.

One civilian contractor was killed, and five others injured, in addition to the injury of a US service member, in "indirect fire" that landed on Coalition forces, tweeted OIR spokesman Col. Wayne Marotto. The KRG's health ministry also claims that three people were injured in the attacks.

US-led coalition forces are present at a military section at Erbil International Airport. Coalition spokesman Colonel Wayne Marotto confirmed to AFP that the dead contractor was not Iraqi, but could not give immediate details on the victim's nationality.

Al Ahram adds:
At least three mortars landed near Erbil International Airport in the semi-autonomous Kurdistan Region of Iraq without causing any casualties, Kurdish Peshmerga sources said on Monday.

A Rooters news hound heard several blasts and saw a fire blazing for a few minutes in the vicinity of the airport. One security official said the total number of mortars launched was five.

It was not immediately clear if a U.S. military base housing U.S. troops near the airport was the target of the attack.

Israel seizes money, goods it says Hamas was sending from Turkey to West Bank
[IsraelTimes] Over $120,000 confiscated, along with shipping containers full of merchandise, in what the Defense Ministry says was an effort by the terror group to fund operatives.

Israel seized over $120,000 and goods worth hundreds of thousands of shekels last month in what it says was an effort by the Paleostinian terror group Hamas, a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth", to transfer funds from The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire...
to its operatives in the West Bank, the Defense Ministry said Monday.

The confiscations were the result of a joint investigation by the Defense Ministry’s National Bureau for Counter Terror Financing, the Shin Bet security service and the Customs Authority.

The money, totaling $121,402, was confiscated from the bank accounts of four individuals and two companies. In addition, several shipping containers and their contents that had been sent from Turkey to the Ashdod Port were seized, the ministry said.

The Defense Ministry added that this route for Hamas to move money to its operatives was now blocked.

Defense Minister Benny Gantz signed the seizure orders for the money and goods on January 26, but the operation was not announced to the public until Monday. A spokesperson for the minister refused to comment on the timing.

According to the Defense Ministry, the money and goods were being transferred by Hamas through two Ottoman Turkish companies, Sense Sanitary Company and Tikkno Plus Ic Ve Dis.

"These were owned jointly by Hamas operatives Abdallah Fuqaha, who lives in Turkey, and Ayman al-Massri, from the Nablus area," the ministry said.

In addition to Fuqaha and al-Massri, the seizure orders also confiscated funds from Salama Aziz Muhammad Mari and Yussef Taher Mahmoud al-Karem, both from Turkey.

"We will continue to be relentless on terror and track down its infrastructure anywhere it exists — in Israel or beyond," Gantz said, praising the efforts of his ministry, the Shin Bet and the Customs Authority.

9 Dead in Israeli Strike on Syria, Damascus Complains to U.N.
[AnNahar] Israel fired several missiles early on Monday targeting areas near the Syrian capital, Damascus, Syria's state news agency reported. An opposition war-monitoring group said the strikes killed nine Iran-backed fighters.

The SANA news agency claimed that Syrian air defenses shot down most of the missiles, which it said were fired from Syria's Israeli-occupied Golan Heights.

The Britannia-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, an opposition war monitor with a network of activists on the ground, said the strikes hit positions of the Syrian army's Fourth Division in the mountains near the highway that links Damascus with the Lebanese capital of Beirut. It said another strike hit Syrian army positions in Kisweh, just south of Damascus.

The Observatory said that of the nine Iran-backed fighters killed, seven were near the Damascus-Beirut highway and two in Kisweh. Weapons depots were also struck in both areas, it added.

Syria's foreign ministry filed a complaint with the U.N. Security Council and called on the international community to condemn Israel and prevent it from carrying out such attacks in the future.

Israel has launched hundreds of strikes against Iran-linked military targets in Syria over the years but rarely acknowledges or discusses such operations.

Israel views Iranian entrenchment on its northern frontier as a red line, and has repeatedly struck Iran-linked facilities and weapons convoys destined for Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
's bad boy Hezbollah group.

Monday's strike was the first since Feb. 3, when a Syrian military official said Israel fired surface-to-surface missiles at targets in southern Syria, causing only material damage.
