Their Taliban 'Bureau of Disinformation' isn't fully stood-up yet. Their FOX News Kandahar Center is still in the planning stages. Small arms sales have slumped.

Spokespersons must be vetted, trained, etc. These things take time.

Daesh leader killed in IEA operation in Kabul
[ArianaNews] Reports have emerged of operations by the Islamic Emirate of Afghanistan’s intelligence forces in Bagrami and Shakardara districts of Kabul against ISIS hideouts.

The Express Tribune, a Pak media outlet, claimed that ISIS’s second in command was killed in a clash with IEA forces in Shakardara district of Kabul province.

Express Tribune reported on Monday night that the ISIS leader killed has been identified as Engineer Omar.

According to this report, Omar first worked as the leader of the central section of the ISIS group, and was later appointed as deputy to Sanaullah Ghafari, the leader of ISIS in Afghanistan.

Reports meanwhile emerged on Monday night of heavy festivities in the Shekardara district of Kabul. Sources said they heard light and heavy weapons being fired off.

Almirsaad website meanwhile also reported the shootout and said the IEA’s intelligence unit had carried out an operation against two ISIS hideouts in the district.

The IEA has not yet commented.

Daily Evacuation Brief May 10, 2023
[AfghanDigest] LAST 24 HOURS
  • PAKISTAN IN FLAMES – The reaction to former Prime Minister Imran Khan’s arrest has ignited a volcano of simmering discontent among his party’s followers. Nearly every major city reported large demonstrations and many government buildings and significant infrastructure has been burned. There are reports of some deaths and injuries in the multitude of clashes between Police/Military and PTI party protestors. The gates of the military facility where the ousted PM is reportedly being held were assaulted and taken down by an angry mob. Pakistan’s security forces have shown exceptional restraint in the first 24 hours of violence and there are clearly orders in place to avoid massacres and wholesale slaughter. However, it is unclear if such caution will remain the status quo as the PTI faithful plan to converge on Islamabad and Rawalpindi today in a series of convoys from the other major cities in Pakistan. Many Embassies announced closures on Tuesday night and other government offices are expected to be shut. Alarmingly, some Afghans residing in Pakistan are reportedly taking part in the demonstrations. As of publication, the borders remain open and some flights have been witnessed taking off. A source at the airport said inbound flight traffic to the country has fallen and many cancellations are on the billboards.

  • JOURNALISTS ARRESTED, NATIONAL AND INTERNATIONAL JOURNALIST ORGANIZATIONS RESPOND – The directors of three media outlets and a journalist were reportedly arrested on Tuesday by the Taliban. A Taliban official from the Ministry of Information and Culture claimed the four men have not been arrested but are simply being questioned. All of the men are charged with allowing their media outlets to air programs during Eid ul-Fitr. Journalism-centric organizations around the world quickly condemned the act and called for their immediate release. The incident comes as the Taliban recently released a journalist from Nangarhar who had been in custody for nearly four months. The current status/disposition of the four who were arrested is unknown.

  • MINISTER OF HIGHER EDUCATION SAYS UNIVERSITY CURRICULUMS ARE NEARLY READY – The Minister said the work is complete and they should be announced shortly. He went on to say that 70 subjects had been approved for study. He did not say whether female students would be allowed to attend classes.

  • CHINA’S EMBASSY IN KABUL MAKES ANNOUNCEMENTS ABOUT VISA PROGRAM – A spokesman for the Embassy released a statement that affirms China’s intention to honor all visa application appointment interviews. Applications must be submitted online and then an appointment for an interview will be granted. The spokesman stressed that the Embassy was the only authorized purveyor of visas and warned Afghan citizens not to use brokers or agents. If an application is received from a broker/agent, the Embassy intends to cancel the appointments. This measure is intended to keep Afghans from falling victim to the disgraceful practices that have plagued Afghans seeking travel documents.

CONFLICT TRACKER
Kapisa: Another AFF rocket attack on the Taliban governor’s office was reported in the provincial capital of Kapisa (Mahmood Raqi) during the early morning hours on Tuesday. 3 Taliban were reportedly killed and 4 others were wounded in the engagement.

NEXT 24 HOURS
PAKISTAN SITUATION WILL INTENSIFY – The security problem in Pakistan will only intensify in the coming days. PTI leadership has yet to make any attempt to reign their party’s followers in. The convoys that are leaving this morning for Islamabad are expected to converge in several areas and it is unclear what the government’s plan is to halt the relief columns. Regardless, many of the thousands of protestors are already making their way into the city, and party leaders have called on them to gather outside of the Islamabad Judicial Complex at 0800hrs local time. Regardless of their intended destination, the Police/Military in Islamabad and Rawalpindi are almost certainly going to engage with the protestors and very few analysts believe the result will not end up in bloodshed. At the moment, it is believed that mobile broadband service has been suspended by the government and cellular communications appear to be intermittent in some areas. Access to social media has been restricted and sources say the only way they could sign into their accounts was through the use of a VPN. The airport continues to operate and there have been no reported border closures but this could change should the expected clashes spread. It will be important for at-risk Afghans who are in Pakistan to maintain a low profile. Either side could choose to target them with the current state of tensions.

Minnawi withdraws troops from Khartoum to North Darfur
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Minni Minnawi, the leader of the Sudan Liberation Movement (SLM-MM), has withdrawn his forces from Khartoum and relocated them to North Darfur, after 23 days of fighting between the army and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF).

The withdrawal from Khartoum followed unsuccessful joint efforts by the signatories of the Juba Peace Agreement to mediate between the army and the RSF to end the fighting between the two parties.

In a statement released on Monday, the SLM-MM said that the decision to leave Khartoum was made after Minnawi and his colleagues failed to stop the "absurd war" and to hold an inter-Sudanese dialogue to resolve all national issues.

"I will not support any of the parties to the conflict," said Minnawi, according to the statement. He emphasized that he did not "sign the peace agreement to participate in another war but for the sake of peace."

The SLM-MM leader pledged to continue his efforts with other Democratic Bloc leaders to end this "damned war".

Minnawi left Khartoum with 300 heavily armed military vehicles that had been stationed in northern Omdurman to protect the SLM-MM leaders after signing the peace agreement.

The redeployment of Minnawi’s forces in Darfur comes at a time when the region is witnessing intercommunal festivities and severe tension between different tribal components.

On April 27, five groups that signed the Juba Peace Agreement deployed their fighters to secure El Fasher, the capital of North Darfur, following the outbreak of fighting between the army and paramilitary forces on April 15.

#1  Minnawi is a Zaghawa of Darfur itself. A non-Arab tribe, he must be very unhappy with the fighting and destruction that has occurred in Nyala, the capital of South Darfur. His relocation certainly does not mean that he will support the Sudan Army which is led by Nile River Arabs. It is quite possible that the Sudan is headed toward a new division of the nation's territory.

More than 15,000 people arrived at Sudan-Ethiopia border: UN
[SUDANTRIBUNE] More than 15,700 people of over 60 nationalities have arrived at the Metema crossing point between Sudan and Æthiopia since April 21, the United Nations
...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks...
humanitarian agency (OCHA) said.
Slackers
This comes in the wake of ongoing festivities between the Sudan Armed Forces (SAF) and the paramilitary Rapid Support Forces (RSF) since April 15. The fighting, humanitarian agencies say, has seen over 550 people killed and thousands displaced.

According to the UN, Metema border town is receiving the larger portion of arrivals, while Kurmuk border town in Benishangul Gumuz has also received a few hundred to date. Other movements, it says, could potentially take place in other crossings in the western part of the country.

Amid all these movements of people, there are already reports of crossings across Gallabat and Taya border points to Gambella, Æthiopia.

Meanwhile,
...back at the the conspirators' cleverly concealed hideout Montefiore's foot was still stuck and the hound had completely soaked his uniform with slobber...
hundreds of people have reportedly been arriving daily from Sudan at the Metema border of Æthiopia’s West Gondar Zone, ranging between 600 to 1,100 daily as the security situation in Sudan continues.

The West Gondar Incident Command Post, OCHA said, convened in Gendawuha town on May 5 in its first humanitarian coordination response.

"An assortment of 1 metric ton of food, 850 plastic buckets, 4,100 laundry soap and 355 mosquito nets distributed among arrivals in Metema," it said.

Sudan's al-Burhan open for political solution, provided RSF withdraw from Khartoum
[SUDANTRIBUNE] The Sudanese Army’s Commander-in-Chief has expressed his support for a political resolution to the ongoing conflict with the Rapid Support Forces (RSF), on the condition that it includes the withdrawal of the militiamen from residential areas and public facilities in Khartoum.

Under the auspice of a joint -U.S.-Saudi mediation, the two warring parties in Sudan began talks in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, with the goal of ending urban warfare in Khartoum and resuming the political process towards establishing civilian rule in Sudan.

In an interview with Al-Qahera News channel on Monday, Abdel Fattahl-Burhan stressed the necessity of evacuating the paramilitary forces from residential neighbourhoods and service facilities, making it a precondition for accepting the ceasefire with the Rapid Support Forces.

“The ceasefire must be accompanied by the opening of roads and the evacuation of hospitals, public utilities, and other service centres such as electricity and water stations, in addition to residential neighbourhoods.”

He further reiterated the importance of finding a peaceful resolution to the crisis, highlighting the significant damage caused by military operations and the challenge of dealing with militias within residential areas and public facilities.

“We remain hopeful that a peaceful solution will bring an end to this situation,” he said before adding “We are committed to refraining from engaging in any fight with individuals who evacuate these residential neighbourhoods and relocate to camps as long as this process is part of a genuine dialogue aimed at resolving this crisis”.

He emphasized the significance of international pressure to bring the leadership of the Rapid Support Forces to withdraw its fighters from residential neighbourhoods in Khartoum and some Darfur states.

Tunisia’s Interior Ministry says an attacker has killed two police and two visitors while trying to reach a synagogue on the island of Djerba
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Tunisia’s Interior Ministry said an attacker had killed two police and two visitors while trying to reach a synagogue on the island of Djerba.

An exchange of gunshots took place on Monday on Djerba, an island just off the Tunisian coast and the location of a Jewish pilgrimage, according to local residents and media reports.

One resident said he had heard gunshots near the pilgrimage site, the historical synagogue of Ghibra. Another said he had heard the exchange of fire coming from a location far from the synagogue.

The annual pilgrimage to Africa’s oldest synagogue regularly draws hundreds of Jews from Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and Israel to the island of Djerba, a holiday destination off the coast of southern Tunisia, 500 km (300 miles) from the capital Tunis.

The pilgrimage has had tight security since al-Qaeda turbans attacked the synagogue in 2002 with a truck bomb, killing 21 Western tourists.

Mainly Moslem Tunisia is home to one of North Africa’s largest Jewish communities. Though they now number fewer than 1,800 people, Jews have lived in Tunisia since Roman times.
There used to be Jewish communities throughout the Middle East and North Africa that dated back to the Roman period and earlier — they’ve been in Persia since the destruction of the First Temple in Jerusalem in 586 BC, for instance. Most were driven out in the 1950s, following the establishment of Israel in 1948.
The Times of Israel adds:
Two worshippers were killed when a Tunisian officer shot up a synagogue on the island of Djerba Tuesday night as hundreds of Jews held an annual pilgrimage there, Tunisian authorities said.

A guard was also killed in the brazen attack on the heavily secured El Ghriba synagogue, and nine others, including four civilians, were maimed, the Tunisian Interior Ministry said early Wednesday.

The two worshippers were later identified by Tunisian authorities as a Tunisian citizen, 30, and a French national, 42. Some news reports said four were killed in the attack, including a second guard, though it was unclear if that was the shooter or a victim.

According to the ministry, the officer, affiliated with the National Guard naval center in the town of Aghir on Djerba, first turned his service weapon on a colleague, before grabbing more bullets and making his way to the synagogue.

When he reached the area, he began shooting wildly at security units stationed at the synagogue, who responded with gunfire, killing him. The synagogue was locked down and those inside were kept secure, the ministry said.

Authorities are probing what led to the attack.

"Investigations are continuing in order to shed light on the motives for this cowardly aggression," the ministry said, refraining from referring to the shooting as a terrorist attack.

Videos surfaced online shortly after the attack showing alarmed worshipers inside the synagogue, where hundreds of Jews from La Belle France, Israel and beyond were celebrating the Lag b’Omer holiday along with the tiny local Jewish community.

Ghayda Thabet, a member of the Tunisian Association for the Support of Minorities, was at the Ghriba synagogue and appealed for help on Facebook. "They are shooting with live ammunition. Help us," she pleaded in a post.

Tunisian authorities maintain a permanent presence around the synagogue, situated near a part of the island where hundreds of Jews live. Security is beefed up during Jewish holidays and especially on Lag B’Omer.

Every year, Jews from around the world convene on Djerba for the Hilula of Ghriba — a feast which features a festive procession on or near Lag B’Omer. The procession traditionally ends at the El Ghriba synagogue, thought to have been established by Jews fleeing persecution some 2,500 years ago.

The current building was constructed in the 19th century and is sometimes referred to as the oldest existing synagogue in Africa, according to Georgetown University’s Berkley Center.

Some 5,000 people were taking part in these year’s pilgrimage, French outlet BMFTV reported, citing organizers.

Many of those visiting were from La Belle France, which has a large community of Tunisian Jews. The French embassy in Tunisia said it opened an emergency hotline for pilgrims following the shooting.

On Saturday, Tunisia’s Interior Ministry posted a video showing Minister Kamel Feki reviewing security arrangements on Djerba ahead of the pilgrimage.

Al-Qaeda forces of Evil set off a kaboom outside the El Ghriba Synagogue in 2002, killing 20 people, including 14 German tourists.

India-Pakistan
NIA conducts raids across 16 locations in J&K to crack down on newly-launched terror groups
[GreaterKashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
] A week after similar state-wide searches, the National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Tuesday carried out extensive searches in Jammu & Kashmir, in the premises of "cadres and hybrid Death Eaters and Overground Workers linked with the newly-formed offshoots and affiliates of several major banned Pak-backed terror outfits."

The raids, in the terror conspiracy case, were continuing till late in the evening. They were spread across locations in Anantnag, Srinagar, Budgam, Shopian, Kulgam and Baramulla districts of Kashmir, as well as in Poonch, Rajouri and Kishtwar districts of Jammu, said an NIA front man, in a statement.

The NIA has been investigating the activities of newly floated terrorist groups, such as "The Resistance® Front (TRF)", "United Liberation Front Jammu & Kashmir (UL J&K)", "Mujahideen Gazwat-ul-Hind (MGH)", "Jammu & Kashmir Freedom Fighters (JKFF)", Kashmir Tigers, PAAF and others. These outfits are affiliated to Laskhar-e-Toiba (LeT), Jaish-e-Mohammed (JeM), Hizb-ul-Mujahideen (HM), al-Badr, al-Qaeda, etc., he said.

Tuesday’s raids, conducted at a total of 16 locations (12 in the Kashmir Valley and four in Jammu division), were part of NIA’s investigations into the activities of OGWs and cadres in support of these new terror outfits. "These cadres and workers have been found involved in collection and distribution of sticky bombs/magnetic bombs, IEDs, cash, drugs and small weapons, as well as in spreading activities relating to terror, violence and subversion in J&K. Investigations have further revealed that Pak-based operatives were using drones to deliver weapons, bombs, drugs etc. to their operatives and cadres in the Kashmir valley."

NIA had earlier, on 2nd May, conducted raids at 12 locations in Jammu and Kashmir, leading to the seizure of incriminating material and digital devices, in the terror conspiracy case it had registered suo motu
...a legal term, from the Latin. Roughly translated it means I saw what you did, you bastard...
on 21st June 2022, added the front man.

"The case (RC-05/2022/NIA/JMU) related to the hatching of a conspiracy, both physical and cyber space, and plans by the proscribed terrorist organizations to unleash violent mostly peaceful terrorist attacks in J&K with sticky bombs, IEDs and small arms. The plans are part of a larger conspiracy by these terrorist outfits to commit acts of terror and violence, in association with local youth/overground workers, to disturb peace and communal disharmony in J&K."

Conspiracy case: NIA raids underway at 15 locations in J&K

[GreaterKashmir] Ahead of G-20 summit in Srinagar, the National Investigation Agency on Tuesday conducted raids at 15 locations in Jammu and Kashmir including summer capital Srinagar in a militancy conspiracy case registered by the national probing agency.

Quoting official sources, Srinagar based news agency Kashmir Dot Com (KDC) reported that sleuths of NIA with the assistance of Jammu and Kashmir police and CRPF carried out raids at Srinagar, Shopian, Kulgam, Budgam, Baramulla, Anantnag, Poonch and Rajouri district of Jammu and Kashmir. The searches are being carried out in the Pakistain backed terrorist conspiracy case registered by the national probing agency.

In Srinagar, NIA teams raided the joint residential house of Mohammad Ayoub Pakhtoon, Tariq Ahmad and Safin sons of Late Habibullah Pakhtoon at Kursoo Rajbagh near Jamia Masjid.

Similarly, another team raided the house of Mushtaq Ahmad Pinjoo son of Ghulam Rasool Pinjoo, a resident of Mustafa-Abad Zakoora.

In Budgam, another team of NIA searched the premises of Sajad Ahmad Khan son of Gaffar Khan at War Sangam and apprehended him for questioning. The house of Fayaz Ahmad Rather son of Abdul Aziz Rather, a resident of Mir Mohalla Nasrullahpora was thoroughly searched by the agency.

In south Kashmir’s Kulgam NIA teams raided the residential houses of Rouf Ahmad Sheikh son of Ghulam Nabi at Rampopra Qaimoh and Shahnawaaz Hajam at Sangus Kulgam.

In Shopian the sleuths of NIA searched the residential houses of Showkat Ganie son of Ghulam Mohammad Haji at Khurampora and Mudasir Rehman son of Abdul Rehman Khan at Killora Malikgund.

At Chatergul, Anantnag, a BSC student identified as Ulfat Jan daughter of Mohammad Ayoub Pathan has been apprehended and questioned by the sleuths of NIA.

Residential house of Umar Iqbal Haji son of Mohammad Iqbal Haji at Khiram Anantnag was also searched by the agency.

The raids are being conducted at two locations in Poonch and 1 in Rajouri districts of Jammu region.

An official confirmed the raids and said the searches were pertaining to the criminal conspiracy hatched by the terror groups operating under various pseudo names, at the behest of their Pak commanders/handlers.

(PTI) party called on supporters to "shut down Pakistain".

"It’s your time, people of Pakistain. Khan has always stood for you, now its time to stand for him," the PTI wrote on Twitter.

Khan, 70, a cricket hero-turned-politician, has showed no sign of slowing down since he was ousted as prime minister last year, even after being maimed in a November attack on his convoy as he lead a protest march to Islamabad calling for snap general elections.

His arrest comes at a time when ordinary Paks are reeling from the worst economic crisis in decades, with record-high inflation and anemic growth. It also comes amid a dispute with the military dating to 2021.

The IDF says 205 of the projectiles crossed the border, while 65 fell short in Gaza.

The Iron Dome air defense system intercepted 62 of the rockets, while three landed in urban areas. The rest landed in open areas without causing damage, according to the IDF.

Sudden Jihad Syndrome: 2 Paleo stab attacks foiled but J’lem bus torched after took wrong turn

Border Police say they foiled West Bank stabbing

[IsraelTimes] Border Police say they foiled a stabbing attack in the West Bank, arresting a 22-year-old Paleostinian who was carrying two knives.

A police statement says the man was spotted acting suspiciously in the town of Huwara in the northern West Bank.

Officers detained him and found he was carrying two knives. A letter to his parents was also found in his pocket in which he apologized and promised them they would receive a large sum of money for his actions, police say.

He was handed over to the Shin Bet for further questioning.

Police say they foiled Old City stabbing attack

[IsraelTimes] Police say they foiled an attempt by a Paleostinian man to carry out a stabbing attack in the Old City of Jerusalem.

Last night officers arrested a West Bank resident who was found to be carrying a pair of scissors hidden in a packet, police say.

He was detained after acting suspiciously and taken for questioning where he admitted planning to a stabbing attack.

Palestinians torch Israeli bus after driver takes wrong turn in East Jerusalem

[IsraelTimes] A bus driver takes a wrong turn and ends up in the East Jerusalem neighborhood of Issawiya, where his vehicle is torched by local Paleostinians.

The driver, 72, escapes the scene but is treated for smoke inhalation by MDA medics. He is taken to the Hadassah Hospital in Mount Scopus for further treatment.

The Kan public broadcaster reports the bus was hit with a Molotov cocktail.

Video shows police patrol cars blocking the street ahead of the burning bus.

Two Palestinians killed as IDF raids West Bank town
[IsraelTimes] Two young men were killed by Israeli forces raiding a West Bank town overnight, Paleostinian media report.

The two were in Qabatiya, south of Jenin, when troops entered the town, according to Paleostinian accounts.

Graphic video shows the bloodied bodies of two men lying in a street. Their identities were not immediately known. The circumstances of the shooting were also unclear, but troops carrying out overnight arrest raids are regularly confronted by violent mostly peaceful protests and often use live fire in response if they feel threatened.

There was no comment on the raid from the Israeli army.

Other footage from the town showed a large number of Israeli troops operating in Qabatiyeh, a day after the Israel Defense Forces launched a punishing offensive against the Islamic Jihad

and the West Bank. Intense gunbattles can also be heard.

Israeli operations in the West Bank in the past year have mostly focused on the Jenin and Nablus areas, where Islamic Jihad and affiliated groups are thought to enjoy wide support.

2 killed in fresh Israeli airstrikes as Islamic Jihad vows to avenge slain leaders
[IsraelTimes] Military says men targeted were operatives in terror group who were en route to carry out a guided missile attack on the Gazoo border

squad in the Gaza Strip that sought to carry out an anti-tank guided missile attack against targets on the Israeli border was targeted in an Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
on Tuesday afternoon, according to the military.

The Israel Defense Forces said it carried out the airstrike against the squad near the southern Gaza city of Khan Younis, as its members were taking missiles by car to a launch site.

"IDF soldiers monitored the activity of the squad and struck it while they were on their way to the launch pad," the military said.

The Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-run health ministry in the Gaza Strip said two men were killed and two were maimed in the strike. They were not immediately named. The strike brought the corpse count since the military launched its operation against Islamic Jihad early Tuesday morning to 15.

Images published by media outlets showed a burnt-out car after the attack. The IDF published drone footage of the strike.

Shortly after, Paleostinian media outlets reported a second airstrike against a "resistance site" in central Gaza. The IDF did not immediately comment on the reports.

The strikes came as Islamic Jihad was seeking to carry out reprisal attacks against Israel, after the IDF assassinated three senior members of the terror group in a series of strikes early Tuesday morning.

Earlier in the day, the IDF blocked access to some roads running near the enclave, over fears of anti-tank missile fire or sniper attacks.

The airstrikes in the pre-dawn hours came days after a short-lived but fiery
...a single two-syllable word carrying connotations of both incoherence and viciousness. A fiery delivery implies an audience of rubes and yokels, preferably forming up into a mob...
flareup of violence set the restive region on edge. Islamic Jihad fired 104 rockets toward Israel on May 2 and 3, in response to the death of a member of the group who had been on hunger strike in Israeli prison.

Hamas health officials said 13 people were killed in the bombing runs early Tuesday. Islamic Jihad said the wives of the three commanders and a number of their children were among the dead. Some 20 people were reported injured in the strikes.

The so-called Joint Operations Room of various Paleostinian terror factions in the Gaza Strip, which includes both Hamas and Islamic Jihad, said Israel and its leaders would "pay the price" for the deadly airstrikes.

The army dubbed the campaign Operation Shield and Arrow.

Islamic Jihad had yet to successfully respond as of 6 p.m., likely a result of Israel catching the group off-guard, though the coming hours were likely to see intense volleys at Israeli cities.

The IDF’s Home Front Command gave the go-ahead for towns bordering Gaza to begin evacuating residents to other parts of the country, with the military estimating that fighting could last several days.

The Shaar Hanegev Regional Council said dozens of families had already left their communities by Tuesday afternoon, amid fears of rocket fire. By the end of the day, over 200 families were expected to leave to be hosted in towns in central, southern, and northern Israel, the council said.

Anticipating a spiraling conflict lasting several days at least, Defense Minister Yoav Gallant okayed the army to call up reserve troops as needed. The IDF was to call up several hundred reservists in the coming day, mostly in the Air Force, Southern Command, and intelligence units.

"We must be prepared for any scenario, including a prolonged campaign with an extended range of fire," Gallant told mayors and community leaders in southern Israel, according to a readout provided by his office.

Soldier lightly hurt during Nablus raid by Palestinian-set bomb
[IsraelTimes] Military convoy also targeted by gunfire as it leaves West Bank city after arresting wanted man; Lion’s Den group claims responsibility

Paleostinians set off a large makeshift bomb against an Israeli military convoy that was wrapping up an operation in the West Bank city of Nablus on Tuesday morning, lightly injuring one soldier.

Footage published online showed the bomb exploding as an army jeep passed a makeshift roadblock set up by Paleostinians

The Nablus-based Lion’s Den terror group grabbed credit for setting off the bomb, as well as opening fire on troops as they left the city following an arrest raid.

A soldier in one of the armored vehicles was lightly hurt, a military spokesperson told The Times of Israel. He was taken to a hospital for further treatment.

The Israel Defense Forces said that during the raid in Nablus’s Old City, a wanted Paleostinian man was arrested and two assault rifles were seized at his home. A second suspect was detained nearby, the IDF added.

Paleostinian media reports said Israeli troops fired shoulder-launched missiles at a building in the city amid the raid.

The IDF said Paleostinian rioters hurled stones at forces during the operation, and button men opened fire and set off explosives as the troops left the city.

The military said troops responded with riot dispersal means at the rioters, and used live fire against the button men.

Paleostinian health officials said a 14-year-old boy was shot and maimed during the raid. The teenager was brought to Rafidia Hospital after being shot in the chest, where he is listed in stable, pH balanced condition.

The IDF said troops detained another six wanted Paleostinians during raids in other areas of the West Bank.

The eight desperados were handed over to the Shin Bet for further questioning.

Iran executes 2 men convicted for burning Quran, insulting Mohammad
[IsraelTimes] Iranian judiciary’s website claims one of the accused confessed on social media to publishing the insults

Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. on Monday executed two people convicted over desecrating the Koran and insulting the Prophet Mohammad, the judiciary said.

Sadrollah Fazeli Zarei and Youssef Mehrdad were hanged in the morning, having previously been convicted over "insulting Prophet Mohammad and... burning the Koran," the judiciary’s Mizan Online website reported.

In March 2021, one of the accused had purportedly confessed to publishing content on his social media account admitting to the insults committed, Mizan added.

Such confessions are frequently condemned by rights groups based outside of Iran as "forced," arguing they are often obtained under duress.

Iran executes more people yearly than any other nation except China, according to rights groups including Amnesia Amnesty International.

The country hanged 75 percent more people in 2022 than the previous year, two rights groups said in April.

At least 582 people were executed in Iran last year, the highest number of executions in the country since 2015 and well above the 333 recorded in 2021, the Norway-based group Iran Human Rights (IHR) and Gay Paree-based Together Against the Death Penalty (ECPM) said in a joint report.
