Airstrike hits migrant detention center in Libya, 40 killed
BENGHAZI, Libya (AP) ‐ An airstrike hit a detention center for migrants in the Libyan capital early Wednesday, killing at least 40 people and wounding dozens, officials in the country’s U.N.-supported government said.

The airstrike was likely to raise further concerns about the European Union’s policy of partnering with Libyan militias to prevent migrants from crossing the Mediterranean, which often leaves them at the mercy of brutal traffickers or stranded in squalid detention centers near the front lines.

It could also lead to greater Western pressure on Khalifa Hifter, a Libyan general whose forces launched an offensive on Tripoli in April. The Tripoli-based government blamed his self-styled Libyan National Army for the airstrike and called for the U.N. support mission in Libya to establish a fact-finding committee to investigate.

A spokesman for Hifter’s forces did not immediately answer phone calls and messages seeking comment. Local media reported the LNA had launched airstrikes against a militia camp near the detention center.

The airstrike targeting the detention center in Tripoli’s Tajoura neighborhood also wounded 35 migrants, according to the Interior Ministry in Tripoli. Health Ministry spokesman Malek Merset posted photos of migrants being taken in ambulances to hospitals. He had earlier said that 80 were wounded.

18 dead, four missing in attack on Niger army camp
[AlAhram] Eighteen soldiers were killed when "terrorists" struck an army camp in western Niger, the government said Tuesday, adding the US and La Belle France had provided air support to help repel the assault.

The attack took place on Monday afternoon at a camp at Inates on the border with Mali, the defence ministry said in a statement. Four soldiers were listed as missing.

"The attack began with the detonation of two suicide vehicles at the entrance to the camp, followed by gunfire from Death Eaters who arrived on cycle of violence," the statement said.

"The counter-attack, with air support from our partners (French and American), enabled the enemy to be routed beyond our borders," it said.

"Sweeping-up operations are continuing."

Several "terrorists" were killed, a truck was destroyed by air strikes and two suicide vehicles were destroyed, it said.

On Monday, a military source, speaking on condition of anonymity

3 arrested over alleged terror plot against Sydney embassies, defense facilities
[IsraelTimes] Suspects detained after suspicious online activities, accused of links to Islamic State; police say one man returned from Leb in 2018 and planned to fight in Afghanistan..

Australian police on Tuesday arrested three men accused of links to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
group over an alleged plot to attack cop shoppes, embassies and defense facilities in central Sydney.

The men ‐ aged 20, 23 and 30 ‐ were arrested in raids in the city’s suburbs after their online activities raised suspicion.

Two of them will face charges of being members of a terrorist organization and of preparations to carry out terror attacks.

"We will say that they had a number of targets, including cop shoppes, defense establishments, embassies and councils, courts and churches," Australian Federal Police Assistant Commissioner Ian McCartney told news hounds.

The plots were said to be in the "early stages," but included moves to import weapons and explosives to target facilities in the central business district.

The third man ‐ described as an "associate" ‐ will be charged with lesser offences.

New South Wales police assistant commissioner Mick Willing said the men "knew each other via social media" including WhatsApp and Telegram, and shared a "like-minded philosophy."

Late last year, Australia passed controversial laws allowing spy agencies and police to access encrypted communications from suspected criminals and terrorists.

Police said one of the suspects had come under the watch of authorities after returning from Leb last year, alleging he had made plans to go to Afghanistan to fight with the Islamic State.

Police said there was no further threat to the public.
The Daily Mail has photos of one of the miscreants, adding:
Isaak el Matari, 20, and a 23-year-old associate were arrested by counter-terrorism police in raids across the city's west and southwest on Tuesday.

Both will later be charged with being members of a terrorist organization and Matari with allegedly plotting a terrorist attack.

Matari, who was last year arrested in Leb accused of planning to join ISIS in Syria, will also be charged over alleged plans to fight in Afghanistan. The ISF alleged Matari contacted an ISIS cadre in Syria and was willing to 'carry out a suicide or explosive operation in Leb'.

A third man, aged 30, known to the other two men, but not involved in the alleged plot, was arrested in the raids over alleged Centrelink fraud.

The 23-year-old was also allegedly 'prominent in the global online Death Eater community'.

Assistant Commissioner Willing said police believed the alleged plot was contained to the two men arrested.

He said police discovered the alleged plot after Matari was deported back to Australia from Leb last year and was immediately put under surveillance.

Assistant Commissioner Willing said the alleged plot was the 16th police had foiled since the terror threat level was raised in 2014.
From An Nahar:
A 23-year-old man is expected to be charged with being a member of a terrorist organization, the Islamic State group. He could be imprisoned for 10 years.

A 30-year-old man who is an associate of the other two was expected to be charged with obtaining financial benefit by deception through fraudulently claiming unemployment benefits. He too faces 10 years in prison. The men are expected to appear in a Sydney court by Wednesday.
Going back a year ago, when Mr. el Matari was sent back in disgrace from Lebanon, we get this interesting background on our not-so-lone wolf from ABC-Australia:
The court dossier said Mr Matari had told [Lebanese] interrogators he had been encouraged to join IS in Syria by Sydney man Adnan Baradaaji, who is the head of Australian charity Dar Al Koran Wa Sunnah.

The charity, which is based in Sydney and Tripoli
...a confusing city, one end of which is located in Lebanon and the other end of which is the capital of Libya. Its chief distinction is being mentioned in the Marine Hymn...
, was established to raise money for Syrian refugees but Lebanese authorities accused several of its members of fundraising and recruiting for IS.

Leb's military prosecutor issued an arrest warrant for Mr Baradaaji in 2015 in absentia on allegations of fundraising for jihadists.

Several other members of the charity have been charged in Leb including the founder of its Lebanese arm, Ibrahim Barakat, who was arrested in 2015 and described himself to Lebanese interrogators as the religious leader of IS in the country's north.

Sources close to Mr Matari have told the ABC he was involved with the charity before he left for Leb.

According to Mr Matari's court dossier, he told interrogators he had planned to sneak into Syria through the Lebanese border town of Arsal, which is the site of a sprawling refugee camp where Dar Al Koran Wa Sunnah claims to operate.

Mr Matari allegedly told interrogators that after festivities broke out in Arsal between jihadists and the Lebanese Army last July, he decided to take another route to Syria from Leb's far north.

SYDNEY CHARITY TARGETED BY AUSTRALIAN POLICE
Dar Al Koran Wa Sunnah has also been the target of counter-terrorism police investigations in Australia.

In 2016, two of its members' homes were raided in an Australian Federal Police operation targeting a multi-million-dollar fraud on Australia's family daycare system which police suspected was funding IS.

Senior counter-terrorism sources have told the ABC the operation was investigating intelligence that more than $13 million in Commonwealth childcare benefits and subsidies was funnelled to the terrorist group.

The charity's then secretary, Ali Assaad, was arrested and pleaded guilty to a fraud offence totalling only $5,080.

Mr Assaad was handed a good behaviour bond for dishonestly intending to cause a loss and knowingly making a false or misleading statement.

No conviction was recorded and he was ordered to repay the Commonwealth.

ORGANISATION STILL REGISTERED AS A CHARITY
Dar Al Koran Wa Sunnah continues to operate as a charity in Australia, registered by the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission (ACNC).

The charity collected nearly $1.9 million in donations from Australians in the past two years, according to financial statements lodged with the ACNC.

The ACNC yesterday refused to answer whether it had taken any action against Dar Al Koran Wa Sunnah, despite telling the ABC in 2015 that the charges against Mr Barakat in Leb would "absolutely" trigger an investigation.

Turkey Seeks Arrest of 122 More for Alleged Coup Links
[AnNahar] Ottoman Turkish police launched nationwide raids on Tuesday to detain 122 individuals accused of ties to the group blamed for a 2016 coup attempt, state media reported.

Prosecutors from Istanbul, Konya and Izmir issued dozens of arrest warrants for suspects including soldiers -- some still on active duty and some already sacked -- according to the Anadolu news agency.

The agency said 41 suspects had been caught so far.

Elderly Man Beaten With Crowbar, Another Has Head Split Open By Antifa While Trying To Help 'Gay Man In Sundress'
[DAILYWIRE] During the violent rioting by Antifa
...the armed wing of the Democratic Party...
protesters in Portland, Oregon this weekend, two men attending a "Him Too" gathering were viciously beaten by the far-left activists.

One of the victims, identified by commentator and journalist Michelle Malkin as John Blum, suffered a bloodied face after he was beaten with a crowbar. The other man, identified as Adam Kelly, had his head split open by criminal Antifa members, suffering a concussion; he needed 25 stitches.

Blum and Kelly were in Pioneer Courthouse Square to attend a demonstration for the "Him Too" movement, which purports to raise awareness for male sexual assault victims and men falsely accused of sex crimes. The men apparently stepped into the Antifa chaos trying to "help a gay man in a sun dress being chased down the street," according to Malkin.

"While John was being pummeled by the mob in the center, Adam was struck in the head with nunchucks, metal water bottles, some sort of metal rod, and fists," Malkin reported on Sunday. "John was sprayed with mace and blinded. He was led away as blood dripped down his face, then dragged to a sidewalk. Another observer notes that one of Adam's attackers appears to wield something like a sock and padlock."

#5  Domestic terrorism, insurrection. Any violent movement that targets civilians, clashes with police, bears its own standard and claims to be 'hunting fascists' qualifies as a militia. Because fascist can only refer to those who support the democratically elected administration.

They are an underground terrorist organization fully supported by bureaucracy in blue states. American citizens have only days left to fight them down, I think. There need to be leaders who can rally up guerilla support, doxxing campaigns, legal assist. Trump will not do anything about it until second term and before draining the federal swamp. It is up to common people now.

Which is why we have jury trials. I would interpret that such laws impose upon the governmental entity the responsibility for protection. Thus, the governmental entity should be held financially accountable for any damages, injury or death that results due to omission.

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka arrests top officials over failure to stop Easter bombings
[DW] Sri Lanka's top police inspector and a former defense secretary have been arrested for failing to avert blasts that killed more than 250 people in April. Prosecutors accused the men of grave negligence.

Sri Lanka's former top police inspector, Pujith Jayasundara, and former Defense Secretary Hemasiri Fernando were arrested by police in the capital Colombo on Tuesday for failing to prevent the April 21 Easter Bombings that killed more than 250 people.

The two men had been ordered to appear in court on Monday, but both checked into separate hospitals in the capital citing poor health. Attorney General Dappula de Livera then ordered their arrest and demanded they appear in court to answer for charges of negligence.

'GRAVE CRIMES AGAINST HUMANITY'
De Livera said the men's failure to act on information provided by Indian intelligence services on April 4 amounted to "grave crimes against humanity." The two men had previously accused President Maithripala Sirisena of negligence in his assessment of possible national security threats.

Sirisena has vehemently denied the accusation and ordered police not to cooperate with a parliamentary committee conducting an investigation into the events leading up to the bombings.

Attorney General de Livera has named nine other senior officers as suspects in the security lapse and has said they, too, will be prosecuted.

FAILURE TO ACT ON CLEAR WARNINGS
Sri Lankan authorities say that beyond Indian intelligence, local Moslem groups had also alerted police about the threat posed by Zahran Hashim, a radical holy man who was himself one of the bombers involved in the attacks.

The terror group "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. " (IS) ultimately grabbed credit for the attacks. In the bombings, local Islamist groups targeted Christians attending Easter Sunday Mass as well as tourists at a luxury hotel in the capital.

Defense Secretary Fernando resigned after the attacks and Police Inspector Jayasundara was put on leave. Their arrests came one day after prosecutors demanded to know why the men had not been arrested despite orders to do so.

Iran's Guards kill two militants on Iraqi borders region
[THEBAGHDADPOST] Iran's Islamic Revolutionary Guards Corps (IRGC) killed two members of an "anti-revolutionary terrorist" group in a security operation in the northwest of the country, the semi-official Fars news agency reported on Tuesday.

Fars did not identify the group but festivities are common in the area with Iranian Kurdish murderous Moslem groups based in Iraq and the Party of Free Life of Kurdistan (PJAK), which has links to The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...Qatar's colony in Asia Minor...
’s murderous Moslem Kurdish Workers’ Party (PKK).

The area borders both Iraq and Turkey.

"The festivities occurred today in the Chaldoran area of West Azerbaijan province ... The murderous Moslems were trying to infiltrate into Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan, the abbreviation IRGC is a cognate form of Stürmabteilung (or SA), the term Supreme Guide is a cognate form of either Shah or Führer or maybe both, and they hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
... Also two Guards were martyred in the festivities," the Guards said in a statement published by Fars.
Rudaw adds:
The media department of Hamza Sayyid al-Shuhada Command of the IRGC, responsible for most of the Kurdish areas in west of the country, said the clash occurred on Tuesday morning between the guards and a "team of anti-revolutionary snuffies belonging to world arrogance [...] in the Chaldoran region of western Azerbaijan."

Two members of the anti-revolutionary group were killed, with the remainder were maimed, the department said, while "two brave local fighters" belonging to the IRGC were also killed.

A large cache of weapons was seized from the opposition group, with guards pursuing remaining members of the group in the area, the Corps announced.

The number of festivities between the Kurdish groups and the IRGC appears to be on the increase. This is the fifth clash suspected to have taken place in the area in recent weeks, according to Kurdish sources.

The Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (KDPI) announced on Sunday, June 30, that its Peshmerga fighters stationed in the border area near the city of Choman, Erbil province clashed with IRGC guards after they allegedly fired at kolbars (couriers) carrying goods; the IRGC retaliated by shelling the area later that day.

Chaldoran, close to the Iran-Iraq-The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
border, was also the site of festivities between the IRGC and what was believed to be a Kurdish opposition group on June 24, though no claims of Kurdish responsibility were made. One opposition fighter was killed, two were maimed and a fourth was captured; two IRGC guards suffered minor injuries.

Iran often accuses Kurdish groups of being at the service of "world arrogance," in reference to what it believes is US influence on armed opposition to the current Iranian regime.

Unlike the rest of Iran, overseen by the Iranian national army, Kurdish areas in the west of Iran fall under IRGC charge. The Guard enforces strict measures to prevent armed Kurdish groups from entering the country, including constructing a network of roads and building more outposts in the mountainous Kurdish regions.
