Egypt police kill five jihadists
[IsraelTimes] Five members of Egypt?s deadliest turban group, Ansar Beit al-Maqdis, were killed on Sunday in festivities with police, the interior ministry said.

The jihadists, who have pledged allegiance to the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear the pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(IS) group, ?opened fire? after security forces stormed a farm where the murderous Moslems were hiding and preparing bombs, the ministry said in a statement.

?An exchange of gunfire then took place, causing the deaths of five members of the terrorist cell while a police officer was injured,? it added.

The farm was located in the Nile Delta province of Sharqiya, northeast of Cairo.

A boom-mobile found at the scene exploded by remote control, the statement said. Police also seized suicide belts, weapons and ammunition.

Three of the murderous Moslems killed in the raid were identified as Abdel Fattah Ayed Marzouk Salman, Hamdeen Salman Saad and Mouaz Ibrahim Abdel Rahman ? the son of Ansar Beit al-Maqdis leader Ibrahim Abdel Rahman who is currently in prison.

Ansar Beit al-Maqdis (Partisans of Jerusalem) has claimed an October 24 suicide kaboom that killed 30 soldiers in North Sinai, a brazen attack that sparked a state of emergency.

The jihadists say their attacks are to avenge a government crackdown targeting supporters of ousted Islamist president Mohammed Morsi that has left at least 1,400 people dead.

The group has pledged allegiance to the Islamic State group that has captured swathes of territory in Syria and Iraq.

A van has been driven into shoppers at a Christmas market in the French city of Nantes leaving 10 people injured.

Oops! U.S. Offers $5 Mil Reward for Al Qaeda Terrorist it Released From Gitmo
Now we learn that the U.S. government is secretly admitting that it erred in at least one case, the release of a Saudi national named Ibrahim al-Rubaysh. In late 2006 the Bush administration repatriated him back home under a Saudi Arabian “rehabilitation” program that supposedly reformed Guantanamo Bay jihadists but instead has served as a training camp for future terrorists. In fact, in 2008 counterterrorism officials confirmed that many of the terrorists who return to “the fight” after being released from U.S. custody actually graduated from the laughable Saudi rehab program, which started under Bush and continued under Obama.

Arshad Mehmood: Hanged, then buried by crowds of well-wishers
[DAWN] Arshad Mehmood, a former military trooper, was among five convicts who were handed out the death sentence for their role in an Al Qaeda-inspired assassination attempt on Musharraf’s life in late 2003.

Mehmood was executed by hanging on Friday. He is among the first death sentences carried out after the government ended a six-year moratorium on executions, in response to the Peshawar school tragedy that claimed over 140 lives, the majority of whom were children.

His funeral was attended by a large crowd of supporters and well-wishers.
The pictures show big crowds of devout men with turbans. No automatic weapons in overt evidence. What does a well-wisher wisha dead guy? His 72 surgeons can shorten his neck to normal length?

SHC suspends execution of two death row prisoners
[DAWN] The Sindh High Court (SHC) suspended the convictions of two death row prisoners, for a week, who were handed the death penalty for killing Dr Ali Raza in 2002.

The convicts were not associated with any outlawed holy warrior outfit but were found by an anti-terrorism court to carry out the assassination on sectarian grounds. They were delivered death sentences.

Despite appealing against the verdict of the ATC in the SHC and the Supreme Court, their pleas were rejected.

The convicts have now filed a petition in SHC, saying that they had registered a review appeal with the Supreme Court which was yet to be heard.

Both the convicts were scheduled to be executed on Tuesday (tomorrow).

Pak court suspends conviction of five attackers on Gujrat army camp
[DAWN] The Lahore High Court's (LHC) Rawalpindi bench on Monday stayed the convictions of five prisoners who were handed the death penalty for involvement in an attack on an army camp in Gujrat in 2012.

The stay came over a petition filed by the counsel of one of the convicted men.

Justice Arshad Mahmood Tabassum of the LHC heard the petition filed by Advocate Laiq Khan Swati, who told the court that his client Ahsan Azim was not provided with any information pertaining to the case including the charge sheet as well as the summary of evidence and trial proceedings despite requests submitted earlier.

He added that his client's family members were suddenly told to hold a last meeting with the Azim as he was going to be hanged soon.

Ahsan Azim, hailing from Wah Cantt, is currently held at the Kot Lakhpat jail in Lahore.

Kamran, Umar Nadeem, Ahsan Azim, Amir Yousuf and Asif Idrees were handed down death sentences by a military court for their involvement in an attack on an army camp in Gujrat in 2012. The attack had claimed the lives of at least seven security personnel.

Earlier on Friday, two former military men were executed in the Faisalabad

district jail.

Usman, a former soldier of the military's medical corps, was executed in relation to an attack on the headquarters of the Pakistain Army in 2009 in Rawalpindi. Moreover, Arshad Mehmood, who was a trooper and also hanged, was among the five people convicted for their role in an Al Qaeda-inspired liquidation attempt on Musharraf's life in late 2003.

The hangings on Friday were the first death sentences carried out after the government ended a six-year moratorium on executions, a move that appears to have come in response to the Beautiful Downtown Peshawar

tragedy that claimed the lives of over 140 people, most of them children.

On Sunday, four more convicts were executed at a district jail in Faisalabad.

In response, Taliban groups released messages vowing Dire Revenge for the deaths of their associates. Security has been tightened in and around jails and all major cities of the country have been put on high security alert to avoid any untoward incident.

PPP Senator Farhatullah Babar criticised the leadership of the PML-N govt, which he claimed had failed to implement the national security policy to counter terrorism.

"According to media reports, the prime minister visited General Headquarters (GHQ) to attend a meeting which was chaired by the COAS but not himself, while the COAS is also signing the death warrants of murderous Moslems and visiting Afghanistan with proofs against terrorists," the PPP senator said.

"It looks as though the politicianship has shifted from Islamabad to Rawalpindi to fight against terrorism...I believe that we are still not serious regarding the war on terror," Babar added.

"We must clear our minds and understand the reality that we don't have any external enemy but Pakistain is facing an internal enemy in the shape of TTP," the PPP senator claimed.

MQM Senator Col (Rtd) Tahir Hussain Mashhadi said that the govt had failed to counter activities of the murderous Moslems and should take action against Taliban supporters and sympathisers.

JUI-F Senator Mulana Abdul Ghafoor Haideri also said that the govt should take strict action against terrorists.

Palestinian held after trying to stab soldier in West Bank
[IsraelTimes] An armed Paleostinian man was detained at a checkpoint in the West Bank Monday morning after attempting to stab an IDF soldier, the army said in a statement.
Was he one of the ones who was striking at the checkpoint?
The incident took place at the Nitzanei Oz crossing near the Paleostinian city of Tulkarem, and there were no injuries. Forces at the scene stopped and apprehended the suspect and he was taken for further investigation,? the IDF said.

The foiled attack came during a period of tensions between Israelis and Paleostinians and a wave of unrest in the West Bank and in East Jerusalem.

On Sunday, two Paleostinians with knives were detained by the army near the West Bank settlement of Adam, north of Jerusalem.

In a separate incident Sunday, Paleostinians hurling rocks at cars in the West Bank lightly injured a 4-year-old Israeli boy. The army said that incident took place at an intersection near the West Bank city of Bethlehem, south of Jerusalem. The boy, who was struck in the head by shards of glass from the shattered window of the car he was in, was taken to a clinic in the nearby settlement of Efrat, Israel Radio reported.

(IS) group members were killed in the second failed jihadist bid in a month to take over an air base in eastern Syria, a monitoring group said Sunday.

"The IS tried, starting late Saturday, to storm the air base. A total of 20 jihadists were killed in the attack, as well as two regime soldiers," said the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.

Nineteen of the IS members were Syrian, while one was Moroccan.

They were killed in fighting and heavy army shelling.

"The withdrawing jihadists seized and took with them several anti-aircraft missiles," said Observatory director Rami Abdel Rahman.

The attack was the second recent attempt by IS to take over the Deir Ezzor military air base, one of the last remaining regime positions in the eastern province.

Deir Ezzor is located on the border with Iraq, where IS also controls large swathes of territory.
