Trump calls on China, and the world, to protect their own ships from Iran
It is now the new world baby. Read Peter Zeihan's tweets "The End of an Order doesn't get more official than that" oh and he notes most U.S. states are majority US oil but California is over %50 Saudi Oil and they don't like fracking or offshore to increase their own oil so could face major economic danger from this decision.
[BI]
  • President Donald Trump called on Monday for China, and the rest of the world, to protect its own ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.

  • The US accuses Iran of laying mines in the narrow body of water on its border, as well as shooting down a US drone.

  • Trump refused to strike Iran in response to the drone, and is now questioning the entire US presence in the region.

  • The US imports more than 30,000,000 barrels of oil per month through the strait.

President Donald Trump called on Monday for China, and the rest of the world, to protect their own ships traveling through the Strait of Hormuz.

The US has recently accused Iran of laying mines there for oil tankers, and shooting down a drone in international airspace.

"China gets 91% of its Oil from the Straight, Japan 62%, & many other countries likewise." Trump tweeted, using the wrong spelling for "strait."

"So why are we protecting the shipping lanes for other countries (many years) for zero compensation. All of these countries should be protecting their own ships on what has always been a dangerous journey.

"We don't even need to be there in that the U.S. has just become (by far) the largest producer of Energy anywhere in the world! The U.S. request for Iran is very simple - No Nuclear Weapons and No Further Sponsoring of Terror!" he concluded.

According to the United States Energy Information Administration, China, Japan, and other Asian markets account for 76% of oil exports headed past Iran through the Strait of Hormuz, the New York Times reported.

Looking at 2018 figures, Business Insider could find data to back up Trump's claim that 62% of Japan's oil comes through the strait, but not that China gets 91%, as it has a diverse network of oil imports, including a pipeline from Russia.

While the US has become the world's top energy exporter thanks to a boom in fracking, it still imports more than 30,000,000 barrels of oil a month from countries in the Middle East.

The US makes it a mission to protect freedom of navigation on the open seas, using its navy dozens of times a year to challenge excessive maritime claims.

Most notably, the US has destroyers regularly challenging China's illegally claimed artificial islands in the South China Sea, something that noticeably irks Beijing.

Trump's comments come after the US accused Iran of laying mines for tankers near the Strait of Hormuz, which sits between Iran and Oman. Trump has resisted a military response to this incident and the later downing of a US drone by Iranian missile.

#1  the owners of the ships are different than the destination of the cargo

for example, China gets oil from ships owned by companies registered to all kinds of countries

however, I wouldn't mind the Chinese taking a bunch of Iranian diplos and beating them

UN To Reintegrate 126 Ex-Shabab Militants In Somalia

said 126 former al-Shabaab

combatants have completed a rehabilitation program and are ready for reintegration.

The former combatants graduated from the Baidoa Rehabilitation Center, in Somalia’s South West State, on Friday after completing an intensive rehabilitation program.

Aden Hussein, national project officer in charge of disarmament, demobilization, and reintegration program at the International Organization for Migration (IOM), said the rehabilitation (DDR) program will encourage more youths in al-Shabaab to lay down arms and contribute to the country’s grinding of the peace processor.

"The ex-combatants undertook various vocational training lessons, among them, electricity, masonry, tailoring as well as welding," Hussein said, according to a statement issued by the UN Assistance Mission in Somalia (UNSOM) on Friday evening.
"But they'll all end up as cab drivers"
He called for more support for the program, saying al-Shabaab cannot only be fought using arms but also through training and the reintegration of ex-combatants.

"This is the best method, and hopefully the graduates will integrate back into the community and be constructive in their communities," Hussein said, referring to the program.

The program graduates, comprising youths from various parts of the country, received vocational training and psychological support at the center.

The UNSOM, the IOM, and other development partners have supported the establishment of similar rehabilitation and transition centers in Mogadishu, Beletweyne and Kismayo
...a port city in the southern Lower Juba province of Somalia, at the extreme southern end of the country (assuming Somalia can be called a country). It is the commercial capital of the autonomous Jubaland region...

Sudan protesters accept Ethiopia plan for political transition
[Al Jazeera] Protest leaders in Sudan said on Saturday they have accepted the creation of a civilian-majority governing body for a political transition in the country, as proposed by an Æthiopian envoy.

The compromise blueprint suggests the creation of a 15-member governing body - comprising eight civilians and seven members of the military - that would install a civilian administration, according to AFP news agency.

"We think that our acceptance of the proposal is a major leap towards meeting the goals of the revolution, which are freedom, peace and justice," protest leader Babiker Faisal told news hounds in a statement, AFP reported.

"It will put the country on the right track to create the transitional period that would usher in sustainable democracy."

The ruling Transitional Military Council (TMC) has yet to give its decision on the Æthiopian proposal.

Arabia
Saudi Diplomat to Israeli Paper- War with Israel is over
[Breitbart] In a rare interview with a Hebrew-language newspaper, a senior Saudi diplomat said it was time the Arab world realized that the “age of war with Israel” is over.

The diplomat, who declined to be named, slammed the Palestinian leadership for “irresponsibly” panning the Trump administration’s long-anticipated peace deal without even seeing it.

“The bloody conflict has dragged on for too long. For us the Saudis, as well as for all the Gulf states, Egypt and Jordan, it is clear that the age of war with Israel has ended and that normalizing relations will only benefit us,” he said in interview published in Globes. “The entire Arab world can benefit from this, not only the Palestinians, and of course also [Israel].”

“History and Allah have brought a real opportunity to realize this,” he added.

He praised Israel’s technological prowess, saying that even those in the Arab world that “hate” Israel look to the Jewish state with “admiration over its success in [technology] and hopes to copy it.”

He emphasized Saudi Arabia’s deep commitment to the Palestinians but criticized them for hanging onto a victimhood identity.

“Maybe it is hard for them to separate themselves from the portrayal of the eternal victim and they don’t believe they can survive without it,” he said.

Germany loses track of 160 'Islamic State' supporters
They’re probably just playing hide-and-seek behind the curtains.
[DW] About 1,000 Germans traveled to the Middle East to join the 'Islamic State' after 2013. A third of them have since returned to Germany. Some died on the battlefield, others are in prison, but many appear to be missing.

The German government has lost track of more than 160 German "Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
" (IS) supporters who traveled to Syria and Iraq to join the terror group, the Welt am Sonntag newspaper has reported.

The figure from the Interior Ministry was part of a response to a request from the Free Democrats (FDP).

The ministry said many of the German fighters were believed to have died in combat, however "in rare cases, these individuals could have succeeded in escaping and/or disappearing."

The ministry stressed it was unlikely IS followers would pass unnoticed in Germany, given "various measures (including wanted lists or entry bans), which make uncontrolled re-entry much more difficult."

FDP secretary general Linda Teuteberg told Welt it was alarming further measures weren't in place to prevent potential IS escapees from re-entering the country, "in light of the known patchy protection at the EU's external borders."

Teuteberg also accused the government of having "no plan for dealing with imported muscle from Germany" or holding them accountable for their actions.

"This applies to the Germans detained in the conflict zones, as well as the more than 200 former IS supporters who are now back in Germany," she said. One way to address this, she added, could be strengthening the capacity of German authorities to investigate and prosecute war crimes abroad.

According to government figures, about 1,050 Germans traveled to the Middle East to join terrorist groups after 2013. About one-third of them have returned to Germany, where some have been prosecuted or placed in rehabilitation programs. About 220 others were reportedly killed in Syria or Iraq. Dozens are also being held in prisons abroad.

Huge migrant influx scares off Greek island tourists
[DW] Tourists are avoiding the Greek island of Samos due to the shocking situation at the Vathy migrant camp, which has grown into a sprawling settlement. Locals and asylum-seekers feel authorities have abandoned them.

"That camp is our shame," says a teacher on Samos, pointing to a refugee center near the town of Vathy. The camp, set up in 2016 following the Europe
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
an Union's controversial refugee deal with The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the occupiers of Greek Asia Minor...
, is home to migrants colonists waiting for their asylum applications to be processed.

The Greek island of Samos is just a stone's throw from the Ottoman Turkish coast. And boats with migrants colonists arrive here constantly ‐ though again and again, refugees drown in the crossing in a desperate attempt to reach the EU.

It's no wonder Greek locals are appalled by the camp: originally intended for just 650 asylum-seekers, it's now home to about 4,000 migrants colonists from the Middle East and Africa. Officially, nobody is supposed to wait longer than three months to have his or her asylum application processed. But the reality is very different, leaving many migrants colonists stranded.

INHUMANE CONDITIONS
Some 1,500 migrants colonists have settled around the camp, in what has become known as "the jungle."

"We have to deal with rats and snakes, we don't have toilets, showers or access to drinking water," says a 30-year-old woman from Congo who lives near the camp. She says many Greek people accuse people like her of coming to Europe just for the money. But that's not the case, she says, stressing that her country is embroiled in conflict.

She will only be able to make her case to Greek authorities in March 2021. She's desperate, and can't fathom giving birth to her child in this makeshift camp, where migrants colonists receive just 1.5 liters of drinking water (less than half a gallon) and a small amount of food each day.

Moslem colonists Migrants in the official camp, meanwhile, report similarly dire conditions. Women have reported being raped, and endless queues are common. "You have to wait in line for three hours to get food, and at least an hour just to use the toilets," says a 24-year-old Iraqi man. His first asylum application was rejected ‐ he says all Iraqis have had their applications rejected, though he has no idea why. For him, returning home is out of the question: "If I go back to Iraq, I will get killed."
Yes, but your asylum request will continue to be rejected, so staying is also out of the question. Perhaps Turkey is looking for good citizens...
A 32-year-old man from Congo finds himself in a similar situation. He and his wife have been living in the island camp since last October, and they are desperate to get to Belgium.

"Belgian authorities have to grant us asylum; they colonized our country. Making it to Belgium will be like reaching home," he says. The couple left their children behind so that they can first sort out their asylum status ‐ though that's proving difficult. So far, they're still waiting for an appointment to see the Greek authorities about their application.

He says they currently receive €90 (about $100) in assistance every month, of which they have to spend €2.50 euro on bank fees. "How are we supposed to live off that?" he asks, incredulously.

[Bloomberg] Turkish opposition candidate Ekrem Imamoglu won the redo of the Istanbul mayor's race by a landslide on Sunday, in a stinging indictment of President Recep Tayyip Erdogan's economic policies and his refusal to accept an earlier defeat.

Imamoglu, backed by opposition parties including CHP, won 54% of the vote, and the ruling AK Party's candidate, former Prime Minister Binali Yildirim captured 45%, according to state media. The political upstart broadened his margin of victory to nearly 800,000 votes from 14,000 in the March 31 balloting,

ISIS claims responsibility for Shiite mosque attack in Baghdad
Follow up to this report on Saturday.

They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) claimed on Sunday that one of its Death Eaters carried out a suicide kaboom in a Shiite mosque in Eastern Baghdad on Friday amid an uptick of Death Eater activity in Iraq.

Through telegram channels, ISIS claimed that a Death Eater named Abo Ali al-Ansari had carried out a suicide attack on a Shiite mosque in the al-Baladiyat neighborhood in eastern Baghdad.

There were conflicting reports about the number of casualties of the Friday bombing, and there are no definite numbers. Iraq’s Security Media Cell responsible for announcing security news was silent, while Saad Maan, the spokesperson for the Ministry of Interior, also was silent.

Rooters reported that seven people were maimed in the bombing.

AFP on its part reported that there were two killed civilians and nine individuals were maimed.

Sky News Arabia citing Iraqi media al-Sumeria claimed that seven Iraqis were killed in the suicide kaboom and more than 20 were maimed.

ISIS on its part claimed that the attack killed and injured more than 40 individuals in the bombing.

The bombing is part of the uptick in ISIS activity across the country. Despite the fact that the group was declared defeated in Iraq in December 2017 by former PM Haider al-Abadi.

Between 14,000 and 18,000 ISIS Death Eaters are estimated to still be operating in Iraq and Syria, according to a UN report in February.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Abbas: We are ready to return to the negotiating table
[Jpost] Paleostinians are ready to return to the negotiating table with Israel, but with two preconditions: the recognition of Israeli occupation of east Jerusalem and the "vision" of a two-state solution, Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
told foreign news hounds in Ramallah on Sunday.
"NO"
The Paleostinian president said that he would not ask for anything outside of what is already prescribed by the international community as legitimate, including the most recent United Nations
...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense...
Resolution 2334.

"I will go to the White House and continue what I started with [US President] Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
," Abbas said.

The Paleostinian president explained that in his first meeting with Trump, the US president spoke about a vision for a two-state solution, telling Abbas that, "I will not accept a one-state solution because one state will be an apartheid state."
That was then...
A few weeks later, Abbas continued, Trump surprised him when he notified the PA that Washington would move its embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Soon after, US Ambassador to Israel David Friedman made statements that "there is no occupied territory and Israel has the right to build settlements all over Paleostinian land," in Abbas’s words.

"I then understood that Trump diverted," Abbas said, adding that "there is no potential for a political solution" with Trump. He said that the Trump administration talks of a "Deal of the Century," but that "we will not deal with this administration on this basis."

Nonetheless, Abbas made it clear that despite his estranged relationship with the current US administration, the PA continues to coordinate with Washington on issues of security.

"The security coordination to date between us and the US administration ‐ us and the CIA ‐ remains, and we are not ashamed to say that," Abbas told the foreign press. "The security coordination is to combat terrorism in the world. And we are the first people who wish to fight terrorism in the world, and therefore we have concluded agreements not only with the US administration but with 83 states in the world.

"We preserved this agreement because terrorism is an enemy of humanity," he said.

Abbas concluded that the security coordination between Israel and the PA remains intact as well.

Trump’s plan to cause MORE Palestinian resistance as it’s only ‘toying’ with their dignity -- Tehran
[RT] Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
’s plan to offer Paleostinians a multibillion investment if they agree to a political solution with Israel will convince the people under occupation that resistance is the only way, Iran’s parliament speaker has said.

"While toying with a nation’s dignity is scandalous, this will strengthen resistance movements as Paleostinians realize that they can only succeed through resistance," Ali Larijani told Iran’s IRNA news agency.

"Trump wants to make a deal on the fate of the Paleostinian people" when it should be a joint international effort, the speaker added. "An international disarrangement [around Paleostine] is largely the responsibility of the Americans."

The US plan to pour $50 billion into the West Bank and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, as well as into neighboring Jordan, Egypt and Leb, was presented to the media by the White House senior adviser and President Trump’s son-in-law, Jared Kushner, on Saturday. He insisted that the so-called "opportunity of the century" will create a million jobs in Paleostine and double its GDP over the next 10 years.

The Americans have scheduled a conference in Bahrain next week to discuss the implementation of their ambitious project with the Gulf states, whom they want to become the plan’s main financial donors. The Paleostinians have rejected an invitation to the event, saying also that they won’t accept its results, while people across the Middle East erupted into the streets to decry Trump’s plan.

Despite official boycott, Palestinian business delegation to attend Bahrain meet
[IsraelTimes] Israeli-American advising group says about 10 Paleostinians who work in small- and medium-enterprises across West Bank to travel to Manama for workshop.

Approximately 10 Paleostinians from the business world will attend the US-led economic workshop in Bahrain later this week, according to an Israeli-American businessman who said he will participate in the conference as an adviser to the delegation.

Many Paleostinians have rejected the summit, which Ramallah sees as an attempt to buy off Paleostinian political aspirations. But Charles Tawil said several businesspeople from across the West Bank who work in small- and medium-sized enterprises would attend.

Palestinians reject economic part of US peace plan
[Al Jazeera] The United States has revealed a proposal to create a $50bn global investment fund for the Paleostinians and neighbouring Arab states, designed to be the economic engine of the long-awaited US Middle East peace plan.

The plan was posted on the White House website on Saturday, two days before a US-led workshop in Bahrain where the economic portion of the so-called "deal of the century" is set to be discussed.

The Manama conference is taking place despite opposition from the Paleostinians, who will not attend.

Paleostinian Authority President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas
... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial...
on Saturday rejected the economic plan and the US peace effort, which is led by President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
's senior adviser Jared Kushner.

"The economic situation should not be discussed before the political one," Abbas said on Saturday. "As long as there is no political solution, we do not deal with any economic solution."

'Less controversial'
Speaking to Rooters news agency, Kushner, who is also Trump's son-in-law, said the economy-first approach was "necessary" to break away from the political side, as it would be "less controversial".

"Let's let people study it, give feedback," he said. "Let's try to finalise if we can all agree on what that could look like in the event of a peace agreement."

Fundamental political issues such as the occupation of Paleostinian territories, the right of return for refugees and their descendants (of which roughly five million live in refugee camps in neighbouring Arab countries) and border illusory sovereignty were not mentioned in the plan.

Instead, the economic scheme included 179 infrastructure and business projects, a billion-dollar investment to build up the Paleostinians' tourism sector, and a $5bn transportation corridor to connect the West Bank and the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Sri Lanka
Fear in Sri Lanka as monk calls for stoning of Muslims
[Al Jazeera] Moslems in Sri Lanka say they fear new attacks after a top Buddhist monk called for violence against members of the religious minority, claiming a Moslem doctor had sterilised thousands of Buddhist women.

Activists, politicians and members of the Moslem minority said Warakagoda Sri Gnanarathana Thero's speech last week was likely to fan communal tensions, weeks after Buddhist mobs attacked scores of Moslem homes and businesses.

The riots were an apparent response to deadly bombings on churches and hotels on Easter Sunday that killed more than 250 people and were claimed by the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of Iraq and Levant (ISIS, or ISIS) group. Sri Lankan authorities blamed the attacks on two small Moslem groups.

With the country still reeling from the bombings and subsequent riots, Gnanarathana repeated unsubstantiated accusations that a Moslem doctor in the central Kurunegala district had covertly sterilised 4,000 Buddhist women.

"Some female devotees said [people like the doctor] should be stoned to death. I do not say that. But that's what should be done," he said in a speech broadcast on national television.

The monk, who heads the Asgiriya Chapter, one the largest and oldest Buddhist chapters in Sri Lanka, went on to call for a boycott of Moslem-owned restaurants, reinforcing a long-standing and unsubstantiated rumour that Moslem restaurants served their Buddhist customers food spiked with sterilisation medication.

"Don't eat from those [Moslem] shops. Those who ate from these shops will not have children in future," he told worshippers at a temple in the central district of Kandy, where that same rumour had unleashed days of anti-Moslem riots last year.

On Saturday, Gnanarathana defended his comments, saying: "The remarks I made are only in line with what the majority are thinking."

Buddhists make up more than 70 percent of Sri Lanka's 21 million population, while Moslems account for 10 percent.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Iran: US botched retaliatory cyberattack, faces 'crushing response' to drones
Measures like these should be saved for the thick of battle to sow temporary confusion and paralysis that would lead to a useful result, like being able to destroy air defenses, etc. Now they have hardened their weaknesses and we'll have to up our game. Hopefully we have the overhead to do this. It also gives them something to scoff at and emboldens them and gives them excuses to go after our remaining drones. I would not have done this unless I was trying to draw them out.
Secretary of State Mike Pompeo met with Saudi Arabia's leaders Monday to consolidate support for U.S. dealings with Iran as President Donald Trump formally signed "hard-hitting" new economic sanctions targeting Iranian leaders.

Trump said he hopes the sanctions will bring the Persian Gulf nation back to the bargaining table.

"We do not seek conflict with Iran or any other country," Trump said. "I can only tell you we cannot ever let Iran have a nuclear weapon."

Pompeo met with King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman to discuss "ways to counter the malign Iranian influence in the region," the State Department said in a statement.

Pompeo also will visit Abu Dhabi in the United Arab Emirates in a bid to strengthen a global coalition against what the U.S. sees as Iranian aggression. The sanctions ordered by Trump are in response to Iran shooting down a U.S. drone last week.

The U.S. claims the $100 million, unmanned aircraft was flying over international waters while Iran says the drone was over its territory. On Monday, a defiant Iranian admiral said his military stands ready to shoot down more drones.

"The enemy dispatched its most sophisticated, smartest and most complicated surveillance aircraft to the banned area, and everyone saw the shooting down of the unmanned aerial vehicle," Rear Admiral Hossein Khanzadi said. "We confidently say that this crushing response can be repeated ... and the enemy is aware of this."

Also Monday, Iranian Minister of Communication and Information Technology Mohammad Javad Azari Jahromi denied reports in the U.S. media that the U.S. carried out a successful, retaliatory cyberattack that disabled Revolutionary Guard systems that control rocket and missile launches.

Jahromi tweeted that the West has attempted millions of cyberattacks against Iran's military, but that none have been successful.

Trump said he canceled a retaliatory military strike minutes before it was to take place when military leaders told him about the potential for 150 Iranian deaths. Trump, however, secretly authorized U.S. Cyber Command to carry out the cyberattack, several officials told The Associated Press. All spoke on condition of anonymity because they were not authorized to speak publicly about the operation.

The Pentagon declined to confirm the cyberattack reports: "As a matter of policy and for operational security, we do not discuss cyberspace operations, intelligence or planning," spokeswoman Heather Babb said in a statement.

Tensions have been mounting since Trump withdrew the U.S. from a global nuclear deal with Iran a year ago and reinstated economic sanctions. Pompeo is also bound for Abu Dhabi to meet with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, who has become wary of Iran's increasingly militaristic influence in the region.

On Sunday, U.S. national security adviser John Bolton warned Iran not to misinterpret Trump's decision against military retaliation as a sign the United States won't use force to protect its interests in the Middle East. Bolton was in Jerusalem for talks with Israeli leader Benjamin Netanyahu.

Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif rebuffed U.S. warnings, blaming the economic "terrorism" of sanctions for Middle East tensions. Zarif accused Bolton and his so-called "B-team" ‐ Bolton, Netanyahu, Mohammed bin Salman and Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan ‐ of pushing the United States toward war.

On the eve of Pompeo’s visit to the kingdom, Yemen’s Iranian-allied rebels attacked a Saudi airport near the Saudi-Yemen border, killing a Syrian resident and wounding 21 other civilians, the Saudi military said.

Saudi Arabia has been at war with the rebel Houthis in Yemen for more than four years. The Houthis say the attacks targeting the kingdom are a response to Saudi airstrikes on Yemen that have killed thousands.

Trump warns Iran of 'obliteration like you've never seen before
[Politico] President Donald Trump warned the United States may launch a devastating military attack on Iran unless it comes to the negotiating table and drops its bid to develop nuclear weapons.

"I'm not looking for war, and if there is, it'll be obliteration like you’ve never seen before. But I’m not looking to do that. But you can’t have a nuclear weapon. You want to talk? Good. Otherwise you can have a bad economy for the next three years," Trump said during an interview with NBC’s "Meet The Press" airing Sunday.

The president said he’d be willing to sit down with Iranian officials without preconditions.

The comments, made during an interview taped Friday, came the same day Trump confirmed on Twitter that he called off a retaliatory strike on Iran at the last minute Thursday night. He said he decided that the potential cost of human lives was "not proportionate to shooting down an unmanned drone."

Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Thursday it had shot down an American drone, claiming it had entered Iranian airspace, a claim disputed by the U.S., which has maintained the drone was over international waters. Both countries have since produced what they say is evidence supporting their respective positions.

Trump said the U.S. had a "modest but pretty, pretty heavy attack schedule," but planes were not in the air when he called off the attack.

"We’re increasing the sanctions now," adding the country’s economy has already been "shattered."

Trump said he believes Iranian officials want to negotiate and that any deal would have to be about nuclear weapons. He also claimed that Iran had violated the nuclear agreement struck by the Obama administration and other world powers. International inspectors have repeatedly declared that Iran has complied with the 2015 deal.

"They cannot have a nuclear weapon," he said. "They cannot have a nuclear weapon. They’d use it. And they’re not going to have a nuclear weapon."

Trump also disputed that he sent a message to Iranian leaders through a third country, saying he did not want conflict, dubbing it "fake news."

However, he also declined to send a message during the interview to Iranian Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

"Wouldn’t be much different than that message," Trump said.

Denmark takes back child of Danish ISIS member
[Rudaw] Denmark took back the child of an ISIS fighter on Sunday who had been injured, in an agreement signed between the Kurdish-led authority of Northern Syria and a Danish foreign ministry representative.

According to Hawar News Agency, media close to the ruling Kurdish authority of Northern Syria, Kristof Vifik, Danish Director of Consular Affairs at the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs passed from the Simalka border crossing between Rojava and the Kurdistan Region to Northern Syria to evacuate a maimed Danish boy.

"I am here today with a small team in order to conduct a medical evacuation of a seriously maimed Danish boy," Vifik said.

Vifik said the boy was "in a stable condition".

"But he certainly needs more fundamental medical treatment," he added, but didn’t go into detail about the type of injury the child had.

The Danish representative met with Amal Dada and Abdulkarim Omer, the co-chairs of the Department of Foreign Relations of the Self-Administration, and thanked them for their cooperation.

Dada and Vifik signed the boy's repatriation papers and later held a presser.

Dada told news hounds they discussed the "challenges" the self-administration faces--including management of camps, the humanitarian situation, and participation in the political process.

"Of course the visit was positive, and we hope it paves the road for future visits and diplomatic, political cooperation between the two sides."

According to the United Nations
...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships...
Children’s Fund, there are close to 29,000 foreign children in Syria alone ‐ most of them under the age of 12.

#1  Citizens should demand for a national register of all persons repatriated from ISIS, a database of DNA, fingerprints, addresses, known family, sponsoring organization etc. ISIS was reported to have trained children between 9 and 15 for execution, torture and bombing roles. Many of these may be below 12, but with serious rage and psychosis issues. Many boys got detailed lessons on how to kill. In some camps, the student soldiers were forced to watch instruction videos on beheading, from how to lift the prisoner’s head by his scalp to where to cut the throat. Yezidi boy returnees described learning how to remove hands, arms or legs as punishment for crimes like theft. Some boys were also taught how to crucify those found guilty of disobeying ISIS’s dictates, a punishment several boys say happened almost weekly.
