-Lurid Crime Tales-
Epstein? Russia? Move the DOJ and FBI out of Washington
[PJ] "Jeffrey Epstein's computers seized during FBI raid on private island " screams the headline in Tuesday's New York Post.

It's meant to be a shocker, but are you shocked? Of course not. What's shocking is that this didn't happen ten years ago.

The behavior of the federal government in the Epstein matter from its inception to the tycoon/pedophile's death has been nothing short of execrable. The attorney general was "appalled." He should have been, although it's likely little of this happened directly on his watch. But it besmirches the entire organization.

That people were hidden from exposure in this most heinous of crimes ‐ they call it "short eyes" in prison for a reason ‐ because they were important or powerful in some way is nauseating. Once the facts are known, everyone involved (adults only, of course) should be incarcerated or, failing that, subject to the public, career-destroying, opprobrium they so richly deserve. This should happen no matter whose ox is gored. (The repellent celebrities that continued to pal around with Epstein after his initial incarceration deserve their own special ring of Dante's Hell.)

But bad as it is, the Epstein affair is far from the worst malfeasance of the FBI/DOJ in recent years. That honor belongs to the Russia probe. Epstein, horrible as it is, is largely about the private lives of a certain number of despicable individuals. The Russia madness affected all of us, dominating the public attention since Trump was elected and weakening America before the world for absolutely no reason but to reverse the results of an otherwise legal election.

It was a treasonous farce with FBI and the DOJ up to their necks in all of it, as well as numerous other government agencies and officials, but let's restrict ourselves to these two culprits.

The real question before us is can these organizations ‐ two of the most crucial arms of any democracy ‐ correct themselves?

We don't know. This is supposedly underway. But you'll have to excuse me for being a little bit skeptical that enough of the guilty heads will roll or that the house will thoroughly be cleaned. These organizations are too incestuous and, as my headline indicates, are headquartered too close to the rest of the government in Washington. That means that people involved with justice spend too much time around politicians, media and all the rest of the Beltway players. They are subject to influences they should be far away from. They have friends they shouldn't have.

Guilty heads have not rolled yet. Peter Strzok, and Andy McCabe are suing for the government for unlawful dismissal. James Comey is still running around pontificating from his high horse. Others are still running around despite seditious acts.

#2  I think if you're going to conduct an effective purge you must be willing to get rid of the few remaining honest individuals along with all the bad apples in organizations like the FBI and DOJ. What I mean is: fire every last one of them and start over from scratch. Then go on to the intel community. Maybe painful but absolutely necessary.

China-Japan-Koreas
What Hong Kong unrest tells us about China's plans for the rest of the world
[FOX] The outside world can do little to assure the future of freedom in Hong Kong beyond making the case that preserving the principles of liberty are at stake. Nevertheless, the plight of that territory’s more than 7 million souls can teach us an important lesson about what China has in mind for the rest of the world. It is not good.

For starters, the continuing protests speak volumes about China’s commitment to "one country two systems." When the British transferred sovereignty over Hong Kong to China in 1997, Beijing agreed to this arrangement. It guaranteed that Hong Kong would be allowed to maintain its own governance and economic system.

The Hong Kong system‐one of great economic freedom--has produced tremendous economic success. But economic freedom is no more popular than political freedom among the Chinese Communist Party. And in recent years, Chinese authorities have been encroaching on the rights supposedly guaranteed to Hong Kongers under the "one country, two systems" agreement.

#1  After all, they note, the USSR’s demise didn’t stop the People’s Army from rolling tanks into Tiananmen Square.

The Tienanmen massacre was one of the triggers of the collapse of the Soviet empire 1989-1991 not vice versa.

#2  What does Hong Kong unrest tell us about China's plans for the rest of the world that we didn't already know? My only surprise is the "one country, two systems" thing lasted as long as it did.

Europe
The resurgence of Oriana Fallaci's anti-Islam message in Italy
[Aljazeera] Rome, Italy - At his political rally in Milan in March, Italy's far-right Minister of Interior and Deputy Prime Minister Matteo Salvini mentioned two women: the Virgin Mary, who, he said "will lead us to victory", and Oriana Fallaci, whom he described as "the founding mother of this Europe".

One of Italy's most famous journalists, Fallaci, who died in her late seventies in 2006, covered the Vietnam War and interviewed the likes of Henry Kissinger, Indira Gandhi and Ruhollah Khomeini.

After September 11, she adopted an anti-Islam stance and today her legacy is enjoying a moment of renewed popularity.

In 2019 Italy, Fallaci's unapologetic Islamophobia is alarmingly mainstream. The new ruling class is rediscovering Fallaci as a prescient thinker.

Streets or squares have been renamed after her in Pisa and Arezzo, in central Italy, and Genoa, further north.

A public garden was also dedicated to her in Sesto San Giovanni, an industrial town close to Milan, where the mayor also blocked the construction of a mosque and recently mentioned Fallaci in his inauguration speech: "Her exhortations to the West to wake up still resonate today."

#7  Christopher Hitchens, writing in The Atlantic, called the book "a sort of primer in how not to write about Islam", describing it as "replete with an obsessive interest in excrement, disease, sexual mania, and insectlike reproduction, insofar as these apply to Muslims in general and to Muslim immigrants in Europe in particular".[35]

Truth is offensive to non humans.

Home Front: Culture Wars
The White Supremacy Hoax
[American Greatness] The specter of white supremacy haunts America. Let us empower the government to crush it.

Just yesterday, "the deplorables" were to be deplored because they were "racist, sexist, homophobic," clingers to "God and guns," and Russian dupes to boot. Today, the agility and unanimity with which our politicians and media‐heck, the ruling class‐have shifted to indicting roughly 72 percent of the population as white supremacists, likely violent, would fill with envy their homologues in China, Cuba, North Korea, and other tyrannical places. By comparison, Joseph Goebbels had sloppy message discipline. Not even the Soviets in their salad days were so "on message!"

One may suppose that our ruling class merely intends to energize its constituencies and cower the opposition in the 2020 elections. But this is no game. Their proposals would impose pre-punishment for pre-crimes on persons accused or "suspected" of being a "white supremacist." By whom? On the basis of what?

In practice, a "white supremacist" is anyone whom anyone in power dislikes enough to so label him. Who would accept being outlawed at will? Our ruling class plays with matches in a house drenched in gasoline.

Here is the latest. The Wall Street Journal on Saturday featured an essay by one Clint Watts, formerly of the FBI and West Point’s Counter Terrorism Center. Watts makes those proposals using the word "white" 16 times in 18 paragraphs. The sociopolitical ideas rife among white people are the main matrix of terrorism in America, Watts contends. Racial profiling, anyone?

Bemoaning the fact that U.S. law now restricts surveillance of, never mind restrictions on, U.S. persons to those who have committed or may be about to commit crimes, Watts proposes legislation that would permit designating persons associated with what the government may identify as "white supremacist ideology" as subject to surveillance to "preemptively assess whether these white supremacists are taking a radical turn toward violence."

Watts also proposes "red flag" laws, that would allow the government to take away weapons from someone so designated. Loss of weapons would be the least of burdens imposed on anyone so "red-flagged." Career, reputation, possibly family, would be gone because someone in the notoriously impartial FBI so decided, perhaps with the agreement of the highly scrupulous FISA court, subsequent to ex parte, secret proceedings.

#3  Q for 'burg members: Do you know, directly or indirectly, of anyone who could reasonably be designated with this W.S. label?

That is, of the thousands of people whom you have interacted with over the course of your adult life - and an equal # of people described to you by your close associates based on their interactions - of your ca. 500-2,000 1st- and 2nd-degree acquaintances, how many were actually inclined toward a doctrine of W.S.?

Any?

For me, the number is zero.

My 1st- and 2nd-degree circle comprises about 500 people I've known and worked with directly over the decades; another 500+ social and family-related acquaintances; and probably another few hundred neighbors in the various places I've lived.

I don't know - I have not known, have never heard mention by - anyone who knows a W. S.

I've moved in many circles in many places: high, low, west, east, educated and not, US and foreign. I'm sure the same is true of most of us here on the 'burg.

Do the math, and it is extraordinarily unlikely that W.S.'it's constitute more than 1:10,000 of those 62.9m US adults who voted for the Dread Orange Man in 2016.

That gets you - MAXIMUM - 6,000 W.S'ists in the US.

There are more black supremacists in this country than than W.S'ists.
There are probably about as many ANTIFA ninja warrior nuts as W.S'ists.
There are almost certainly more domestic jihadists than W.S'ists.

No doubt, W.S. is a problem worthy of the domestic counter-terror authorities' attention.

But any serious, sober analysis will yield the conclusion that W.S. cannot be, must not be considered as a uniquely pestilential threat or imminent danger in isolation from those other three supremacist/totalitarian tendencies.

Jeffrey Epstein's 'madame,' Ghislane Maxwell: Despise her, but pity her
[American Thinker] "They're nothing, these girls. They are trash." Thus spake Ghislane Maxwell, accomplice in Jeffrey Epstein's quest to destroy innocence in America, one girl at a time.

What kind of human being could say such a thing? The spoiled rich not only cannot, but won't even try to walk in the rabble's shoes. They are so twisted that the world exists solely for their pleasure.

Anyone with a modicum of decency recoils at such an astonishing lack of self-awareness. This is soul rot, this haughty cutting oneself off from the common run of humanity. Hierarchy and social distance are necessary and inevitable in human affairs, but humanity is even more so, and humanity is missing when entire classes of people become "trash." This is how racists look at other races, misogynists at women, misandrists at men.

Don't doubt it: Maxwell was talking about your little girl, your granddaughter, your baby sister, the girl next door. Anyone not of her social class, and especially girls not of her social class, are trash, fit only to be used and tossed aside as so much litter. Who cares what she feels or what such treatment does to her emotionally? She doesn't matter; they're all trash, and not even white trash ‐ just trash.

Ghislane Maxwell made it possible for Jeffrey Epstein to prey on hapless, helpless young women. She is as guilty as he. The only possible consolation is in the realization that ultimately, Maxwell's opinion of these girls is her own self-opinion as well. She sees women as objects for men to use as they please and then discard. She kept herself from being discarded by making herself useful in other ways.

What a grotesque gargoyle of a woman.

#2  ALL large human trafficking and sex rings have a woman facilitator in the core group. Pedophiles want the kids, the don't necessarily want to hunt them, only the serial killers enjoy the hunt. There is ALWAYS a facilitator that's female and willing to feed these kids to monsters. In my studies I'm not sure who is worse, the peod or the facilitator. The Peod has a psychosis, the female is just cruel and has no soul.
