[AmericanGreatness] Conquering the Chisholm Trail or the Men Who Conquered It? Erotic power and harsh reality renders Howard Hawks’ “Red River” brilliant in every way.
Full disclosure: I know the reviewer, Emina Melonic, personally. She is one of those who were meant to be American and got here as soon as she could, in her case after spending half her childhood in refugee camps for Bosnian Muslims. She adores American movies, and loathes political correctness and other culture war nonsense.

Skid, we’re like country railway lines- get where you are going in a hurry, but just that one place; women are the city switch yards- go in all directions, slowly?

For me it was another celebration of men, American Men, hard men, doing the hard things that made the Good Times happen. The West, and its taming, with all the tribulations, is the quintessential 19th century American character on display, with all its warts and flaws. It is that character that the left hates so deeply, because their patrons in China and the WEF fear it, even its residual presence in modern American culture fly-over states. Howard Hawks and John Ford gave us that view, and I thank God for the reminder of what was the core of early American greatness, and who they were.

Believe it or not, in Junior High we had a singing class once a week. There sticks in my mind, "Come along boys, and listen to my tale, as I tell you my troubles on the Old Chisum Trail." Naturally, I believe Red River was the best Western ever produced. The unforgettable line: Told that there were thousands of cattle on the way to the stockyards, the happy purchasor (Harry Carey Sr., as I recall) says, "Send em through town."
Most likely nothing as it was a small body orbiting a larger asteroid. We had plotted its orbit pretty closely so any change would be measurable. This was a successful proof of concept. Given enough warning time, we can deflect an asteroid heading towards Earth. Some 2-3 years warning would be needed at the minimum.

"...Earth's orbital speed averages 29.78 km/s (107,208 km/h; 66,616 mph), which is fast enough to cover the planet's diameter in 7 minutes..."
So altering the asteroid's orbital speed by 33 minutes would turn a hit into a miss.
