Democratic Deputy Chair Meets With Far-Left U.K. Leader Accused Of Anti-Semitism
[The Federalist] Amidst accusations that the Democratic Party is slowly "Corbynizing," Democratic National Committee Deputy Chairman Keith Ellison opted to meet with the leader of the U.K. Labour Party, Jeremy Corbyn. This furthers the contention that the American Democratic Party does not take anti-Semitism seriously and has no real intentions of doing so. Instead of condemning anti-Semitism, Democrats are embracing it.

The term "Corbynization" has come to encapsulate, as Josh Hammer of The Daily Wire perfectly phrased it, "the metastasization of the once-pro-Israel Democratic Party into a U.K. Labour Party-esque leftist outfit that routinely shills for Jew-haters." Corbyn has been under frequent fire as of late for providing a platform to anti-Semites both within and outside his party, casting himself as a sympathetic character to those ostracized and condemned for spouting anti-Semitic rhetoric.

Corbyn’s culture of Jew-hatred within the U.K. Labour Party has resulted in nine MPs (members of Parliament) opting to defect from the party in 2019 alone, many citing anti-Semitism under Corbyn’s auspices as one of their chief concerns. Thus, Ellison’s decision to flaunt his meeting with the infamous leader is particularly troubling in an era when the American Democratic Party continues to fend off accusations of failing to take anti-Semitism seriously.

Indeed, just a few days ago, 2020 Democrat presidential contender Sen. Corey Booker (D-NJ) announced at a prayer breakfast that he would be willing to meet with known bigot Louis Farrakhan. It was a disturbing statement, given Farrakhan’s anti-Semitic, anti-white, and anti-gay rhetoric has been circulating within the media following the discovery of his connections to the left-wing Women’s March.

Rep. Dan Crenshaw: First There Was No Crisis, Then It Was A Manufactured Crisis, Now People Are Nazis
[Real Clear Politics] Rep. Dan Crenshaw (R-TX) said Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) is "getting bolder with her lies" about the crisis at the U.S.-Mexico border. Crenshaw said Ocasio-Cortez's colleagues are operating off a false premise and are misinforming the public for "political ends."

"It's sad to see," Crenshaw said of Ocasio-Cortez's performance at a border facility on Monday. "She's getting bolder with her lies on this. And this is what is actually happening and this is what the American people need to understand. People like AOC are operating off of a false premise, and it's deliberately designed to misinform the American people for her political ends."

"Remember, first there was no crisis at all. Then it was a manufactured crisis, then it was a crisis completely created by Trump, then there were concentration camps, then people are Nazis. Now she's saying border patrol agents harassed her and forced migrants to drink out of toilets," Crenshaw said.

"This is insanity," Crenshaw told FNC host Martha MacCallum. "This is not true. There's no one else corroborating this kind of reports yet she's using it to try to make her case that we shouldn't have any enforcement and that we should have open borders. This is really dishonest behavior from a member of Congress and I honestly can't believe it."

Obama DHS Secretary: Dems Want ‘Open Borders'
[Free Beacon] Jeh Johnson, former DHS secretary in Barack Obama's administration, called presidential candidate Julian Castro's proposal to decriminalize illegal border crossing essentially advocacy for "open borders."

"That is tantamount to declaring publicly that we have open borders," Johnson told the Washington Post. "That is unworkable, unwise and does not have the support of a majority of American people or the Congress, and if we had such a policy, instead of 100,000 apprehensions a month, it will be multiples of that."

Other 2020 candidates, including Sens. Elizabeth Warren (D., Mass.), Kirsten Gillibrand (D., N.Y.), and Kamala Harris (D., Calif.) as well as South Bend Mayor Pete Buttigieg have embraced the proposal. Eight of the more than 20 candidates have expressed explicit support for open borders. Sen. Cory Booker (D., N.J.) said he would "virtually eliminate immigration detention," if elected president.

Flint To Rescind Lead Pipe Contract From Lowest Bidder And Award It To Politically-Connected Firm
[DAILYCALLER] Flint, Michigan, said it will rescind a water-line repair contract offered to Goyette Mechanical, the lowest bidder and the only firm that has completed previous work on time.

The mayor instead wants to give the contract to politically-connected WT Stevens, which Goyette says is so far behind on its previous work that residents may be kept waiting for two years.

Mayor Karen Weaver’s top advisor previously ordered work to be steered to WT Stevens, threatening "trouble" if his order was disobeyed.
That's called graft and should be prosecuted. Check the advisor's bank account

Julian Castro praises Nike, compares Betsy Ross flag to Confederate flag
[WASHINGTONTIMES] Democratic presidential hopeful Julián
"Senor 1%"
Castro on Wednesday praised Nike’s controversial decision to pull shoes featuring the Betsy Ross flag, saying the early flag design that represents the Thirteen Colonies evokes pain among some Americans, much like Confederate symbols.

"I was glad to see that," the former Housing and Urban Development Secretary said on CBS News about Nike’s decision to scrap the Betsy Ross design, the Washington Free Beacon reported. "And my hope is that they didn’t just do it to do it ‐ that they understand the significance there.

"Look, there are a lot of things in our history that are still very painful ‐ the Confederate flag that still flies in some places and is used as a symbol," Mr. Castro continued. "And I believe that we need to move toward an inclusive America that understands that pain ‐ that doesn’t wipe it away from history in the sense that it still belongs in a museum, or we need to read about it and understand the significance, because that’s how you learn and make sure that we don’t make the same mistakes in the future ‐ but does not glorify it, does not celebrate it."

Mr. Castro went on to lament that school textbooks often don’t include the early successes of minority men and women "who have done great things to propel our country forward."

"We need to get not only to blocking things that don’t advance us, but also to celebrating those things that do," he said. "And that will round out the whole nation’s understanding of why we became the successful nation that we became, that everybody has had a role in that."

#1  Easy to predict this.

After BLM cowed Democrats into renouncing Andrew Jackson, we knew it would be a short step to denouncing Jefferson.

After Jefferson, it was just a matter of time before the race-Bolsheviks would denounce Washington, and the Revolution.

Get ready for them to tell us that the Emancipation Proclamation was hoax and that 400,000 Union deaths didn't happen.

Next we'll be told that FDR was a fascist.

Hunter Biden Admits to Taking Diamond Bribe From Shady Chinese Businessman – Media Silent
[GatewayPundit]
Hunter was on the board of the World Food Program USA, a nonprofit that generates support for the U.N. World Food Programme, and he had hoped that Ye would make a large aid donation. At dinner that night, they discussed the donation, and then the conversation turned to business opportunities. Hunter offered to use his contacts to help identify investment opportunities for Ye’s company, CEFC China Energy, in liquefied-natural-gas projects in the United States. After the dinner, Ye sent a 2.8-carat diamond to Hunter’s hotel room with a card thanking him for their meeting. "I was, like, Oh, my God," Hunter said. (In Kathleen’s court motion, the diamond is estimated to be worth eighty thousand dollars. Hunter said he believes the value is closer to ten thousand.)

When I asked him if he thought the diamond was intended as a bribe, he said no: "What would they be bribing me for? My dad wasn’t in office." Hunter said that he gave the diamond to his associates, and doesn’t know what they did with it. "I knew it wasn’t a good idea to take it. I just felt like it was weird," he said.

House Democrats Sue to Obtain Donald Trump’s Tax Returns
[BREITBART] The House Boodle Central has filed a lawsuit against the U.S. Treasury Department and the IRS
...the Internal Revenue Service; that office of the United States government that collects taxes and persecutes the regime's political enemies...
in an effort to obtain President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
’s tax returns.
The committee, headed up by Rep. Richard Neal (D-MA), said it doesn’t have to explain its reasons for seeking President Trump’s tax return information. The panel stated that the administration has defied a subpoena for the documents "in order to shield President Trump’s tax return information from Congressional scrutiny." Further, politicians said it’s investigating tax law compliance by the president, among other things.

"In refusing to comply with the statute, Defendants have mounted an extraordinary attack on the authority of Congress to obtain information needed to conduct oversight of Treasury, the IRS, and the tax laws on behalf of the American people who participate in the nation’s voluntary tax system," reads the lawsuit.

"The Committee has been unable to evaluate President Trump’s claims about the audit program or investigate its other concerns because the President has declined to follow the practice of every elected President since Richard Nixon of voluntarily disclosing their tax returns," court filing state.

Federal judge blocks Trump policy keeping asylum seekers locked up
[M.WASHINGTONTIMES] A federal judge in Seattle on Tuesday blocked a Trump administration policy that would keep thousands of asylum-seekers locked up while they pursue their cases, saying the Constitution demands that such migrants colonists have a chance to be released from custody.

U.S. District Judge Marsha Pechman
nominated by President Bill Clinton
ruled Tuesday that people who are detained after entering the country to seek protection are entitled to bond hearings. Attorney General William Barr announced in April that the government would no longer offer such hearings, but instead keep them in jug. It was part of the administration’s efforts to deter a surge of migrants colonists at the U.S.-Mexico border.

Pechman said that as people who have entered the U.S. and been detained here, they are entitled to the Fifth Amendment’s due-process protections, including "a longstanding prohibition against indefinite civil detention with no opportunity to test its necessity."

Immigrant rights advocates including the American Civil Liberties Union and the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project sued to block the policy, which was due to take effect July 15.

"The court reaffirmed what has been settled for decades: that asylum-seekers who enter this country have a right to be free from arbitrary detention," Matt Adams, legal director of the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project, said in a written statement. "Thousands of asylum-seekers will continue to be able to seek release on bond, as they seek protection from persecution and torture."

For the past 50 years, the government has given such asylum-seekers bond hearings before immigration judges where they can argue that they should be released because they are not flight risks and pose no threat to the public, the groups told the court. That gives the asylum-seekers an opportunity to reunite with relatives in the U.S. and to find lawyers to handle their asylum claims, making them more likely to succeed.

The new policy would end that practice, keeping between 15,000 and 40,000 immigrants colonists in jug for six months or more without requiring the government to show that their detentions are justified, in violation of their due process rights, the groups argued. Typically, close to half of asylum-seekers who are granted bond hearings are released from custody.

"The Court finds that Plaintiffs have established a constitutionally-protected interest in their liberty, a right to due process which includes a hearing before a neutral decisionmaker to assess the necessity of their detention, and a likelihood of success on the merits of that issue," the judge wrote.

In her order, Pechman said the government must provide a bond hearing to any immigrant who has demonstrated that they have a credible fear of persecution or torture if returned to their home country within seven days of a request. The asylum-seekers must be released if not granted a hearing within that time frame, she said.

Pechman also said the burden must be on the government at such hearings to show that keeping asylum-seekers in jug is necessary because they pose a flight risk or a danger to the public.

If they haven't entered legally and are non-citizens and are free to leave the US at any time, this seems an enormous stretching of rights...

Perhaps the judges retirement funding could be used to fund any migrants so admitted.

Rep. Frederica Wilson calls for online pranksters to be 'prosecuted' if jokes target lawmakers
[M.WASHINGTONTIMES] Noted Rodeo Clown Rep. Frederica Wilson
...Clownish Dem rep from Broward County, Florida. She is distinguished by her liking for cowboy hats and her demand that people making fun of clownish Congresspeople should be locked up...
has no love for social media’s meme-makers and pranksters ‐ she literally wants them prosecuted.

The Florida Democrat weighed in on free speech issues this week and told an audience that it should be illegal to mock politicians.

"Those people who are online making fun of members of Congress are a disgrace," she said while speaking in Homestead. "We’re gonna shut them down and work with whoever it is to shut them down, and they should be prosecuted. You cannot intimidate members of Congress, frighten members of Congress. It is against the law, and it’s a shame in this United States of America."

Footage of the remarks was viewed hundreds of thousands of times on Twitter.

Over five thousand people replied to the video shared by The Daily Wire’s Ryan Saavedra. Some responses include:
  • "They really think they are kings and queens. More like privileged little dictators."

  • "That’s for tyrannical governments."

  • "Obviously a very strong proponent of the First Amendment. Wilson proves, again, she is utterly clueless."

  • "Having an opinion is against the law? Huh? What else will Democrat’s outlaw?"

  • The Democrat’s comments come against a political backdrop in which Twitter announced new rules for government officials.
New policy effective June 27 seeks to "protect the health of the public conversation" by hiding messages deemed unacceptable.

"Asked who besides President Trump would be affected by this rule, [a Twitter] spokesperson said the company discussed internally whether to publish a list of possible accounts, but ultimately decided not to," Real Clear Politics reported Tuesday. "Asked why, the spokesperson said Twitter would not comment further. As to whether the list includes more Republican accounts than Democratic ones, the company said its selection criteria were nonpartisan, but declined to comment on the list’s makeup and said it would not permit external review."

Hickenlooper campaign ‘bleeding’ as calls for dropping out intensify
[KDVR-TV, Denver] Former Gov. John Hickenlooper
... former governor of Colorado, yet another of 2020's innumerable Dem candidates. His selling points include being less grabby than Biden, less Cherokee than Warren, assuming that's possible, and taller than Gillebrand...
's staff shakeup has not gone over well.

Multiple reports suggest Hickenlooper senior aides have been in turmoil in recent weeks, with Politico reporting Hickenlooper's aides have called for him to drop out.

Monday night, FOX31 confirmed Hickenlooper's campaign manager Brad Komar, his finance director Dan Sorenson and his spokeswoman Lauren Hitt are all out.

"These campaigns are long, hard campaigns and you don't always get it right with the first team," Hickenlooper said on MSNBC Tuesday. "I'm not always the perfect front man for my own ideas."

"It's bad - it's bleeding," said Andy Boian, a FOX31 political analyst who has advised Hickenlooper over the years.

"I think what his staff is saying, if you've seen the Politico report, is that they've urged Hickenlooper to get out of the race. His senior aides -- I think they are feeling is a sense of frustration, particularly the finance director, who I have known for 25 years -- I think it's tough for him to stay in a race where he sees no momentum being built," Boian added.

[FOXNEWS] Two pastors stood their ground after Rep. Alexandria Boom Boom Ocasio-Cortez
Dem represntative from da Bronx in Noo Yawk and leader of the Mean Girl Caucus in Congress. One of the Great Minds of the 21st Century, she is known as much for her innaleck as for her dance moves. She is all in favor of socialism, even though she's fuzzy on the details...
, D-N.Y., seemed to dispute their claims that conditions at facilities they toured were "drastically different" from what she saw.

Rev. Samuel Rodriguez, president of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference, the world's largest Hispanic Christian organization, and senior pastor of New Seasons Christian Worship Center in Sacramento, asked the White House if he could take a group of pastors to see for themselves the reported deplorable and inhumane conditions for illegal immigrants colonists at an El Paso County, Texas migrant detention center.

He said what they saw was vastly different than what the congresswoman described was occurring there. Ocasio-Cortez said the conditions were so deplorable, detainees were forced to drink water from the toilets.

Ocasio-Cortez responded to the backlash in a tweet last night: "The right is responding to what’s been exposed at the border by denying it & saying I’m lying. Hard to assert when the details I shared are corroborated by other members of Congress, court documents, migrant testimony, and now photos released today by the Inspector General."

The Trump adviser, who has previously advised both Presidents Barack Obama
They get bitter, they cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them...
and George W. Bush on immigration, responded on "Fox @ Night" Tuesday.

"I must be living in a parallel universe somewhere...I did not find soiled diapers. I did not find crying children. I did not find deplorable conditions," Rodriguez told Fox News host Shannon Bream. "Quite the opposite. I found amazing people on both sides trying to make a very difficult circumstance better. I don't know where everyone else is visiting! I spoke to border patrol agents, the vast majority of which are Latino and many attended churches that are part of our network, and I asked, 'Hey guys, did you stage this? Did you flip the script to accommodate people like me?' And they went 'Pastor Sam, absolutely not. You are looking at the very thing that existed here for a number of weeks, so it's not that we shifted because of any deplorable conditions that were discovered.'"

So in reality she wasn't too far off, but she misrepresented what she actually saw or heard.

No surprise there.

Justin Amash Underwater Beneath 20 Percent, Trails Challenger by Double Digits
[BREITBART] Rep. Justin Amash
...pretend Republican congressman from Michigan, who probably won't be there come 2020...
(R-MI), the Michigan Never Trump GOP congressman who recently publicly backed impeachment of President Donald Trump
...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US...
, is now underwater in his own district according to a poll obtained exclusively by Breitbart News.
Aaaaand just quit the GOP yesterday
If he isn’t a party member, why would they let him run in their primary?
Amash is polling at just 17 percent in the GOP primary, trailing State Rep. Jim Lower by double digits. Lower, who announced his candidacy as Amash revealed his support for impeaching Trump, is at 27 percent‐a 10-point lead over Amash. What’s more, another Amash challenger, State Rep. Lynn Afendoulis, is tied with the congressman for 17 percent‐meaning one challenger to the incumbent representative is beating him by double digits and a second is already tied with him.

Another challenger, activist Tom Norton, is at 5 percent in this poll. Pete Meijer, the heir to the Meijer supermarket chain fortune who just announced his candidacy on Wednesday, polls at just 4 percent in this survey. Thirty percent of respondents were undecided.

The poll, conducted by Strategic National, surveyed 400 likely Republican voters in Michigan’s third congressional district from June 29 to July 1 and has a margin of error of 4.89 percent.

Another potential candidate, businessman and real estate developer Joel Langlois who owns the DeltaPlex facility in which President Trump has held rallies as well as manufacturing companies, is also considering running for the seat, sources familiar with the matter tell Breitbart News, but he was not polled in this survey.

Science
SpaceX to Exit Vandenberg?
The whole issue of shutting down VAFB is because leadership the local community at Vandenberg has been hostile to increased commercial usage of the facility. Adding commercial passenger flights is definitely not a likely outcome.

That is a fact. I also know that SpaceX has been actively brainstorming over what to do with their presence at Vandy during prolonged low flight-rate periods. One of the ideas that surfaced from those brainstorming sessions was to get out of Vandy completely. Courtesy of the recent dog-leg corridor being opened up at KSC. They worked out that basic idea a little further to see what other cost-savings could be achieved by abandoning VABF.
There has also been the issue of the State of California limiting flights and landing as they claim that they interfere with seals having sex
The Air Force has opened a “polar corridor” that would allow certain rockets to launch spacecraft from Cape Canaveral into north-south orbits circling the poles, a development that could bring more launches to Florida.

Polar launches historically have been flown from Vandenberg Air Force Base on California’s Central Coast, where a small number of missions each year fly south over the Pacific Ocean toward Antarctica.

Cape launches most often head east to send satellites on their way around the equator. Polar trajectories have been avoided since a 1960 Navy launch inadvertently dropped a Thor rocket stage on Cuba, reportedly killing a cow.

But now, says Brig. Gen. Wayne Monteith, commander of the 45th Space Wing, “We can shoot south.”

No near-term missions plan to use the new polar corridor, but over time it could lead to more Cape launches and consolidation of the nation’s launch infrastructure.

Both the military and commercial launchers could save money by no longer having to maintain and staff infrastructure sites on both coasts.

“Adding polar missions to the Cape's manifest might be very attractive to the Air Force, especially as they consider a new round of base closures in the near future,” said Edward Ellegood, an analyst at Saalex Solutions, a range operations contractor at Kennedy Space Center.

“This would also be a boon for the commercial launch industry in Florida,” said Ellegood. “United Launch Alliance, SpaceX, Orbital ATK and Blue Origin could reduce the costs associated with operating facilities and deploying personnel to the West Coast for only a few missions per year.”

The Eastern Range began analyzing options for polar launches as a wild fire raged near Vandenberg in September 2016. The fire damaged power and communications lines and delayed a commercial mission by two months.

How could the 45th Space Wing support national security missions if fires closed Vandenberg for 12, 18 or 24 months, Monteith asked his safety and flight analysts?

First, they looked north, but Newfoundland proved too difficult an obstacle. Turning their attention south, a path materialized.

“They crunched numbers for about eight months, and I am confident we can go south,” said Monteith.

Monteith did not detail the precise trajectory, but said it involved “a little jog shortly off the pad” to turn south once offshore, “and then we’d skirt Miami.”

The rocket’s first stage would drop safely before reaching Cuba, he said. The second stage would be so high up by the time it flew over the island that no special permissions would be required.

#1  ...So I'm clear about this, the state of California wants to completely unplug itself from the 21st century.

Works for me.

#2  Good for them for avoiding Newfoundland though. The place is an isolated nightmare. Frozen hellscape in the winter and covered in giant insects in the summer. And yes, it seems that California is truly dedicated to driving away all potentially productive people.

#3  If no rockets are launched from Vandenberg, can satellites be designed to see Caliphornia as a blank spot on the globe for signals purposes?

#4  Someone needs to come up with a satellite photo like the one of North and South Korea at night, but showing America and California (circa 2030) at night in a similar fashion.
