In other words, common law defines what you can't do while leaving you free to do everything else, while the Napoleonic Code, also known as civil law, is a top-down system that often becomes a vastly more bureaucratic and controlling approach to governing citizens, effectively spelling out in detail what you can do, under a "Government knows best" mantra

No it's not. Both Civil and common law have a lot 8n common and diverge in procedure and how to approach a legal issue.
Personally I prefer the civil code to the anarchotyranny by malevolent elites
A Nevada bill would allow tech companies to form their own local governments. Companies with large amounts of land would be given the same authority as counties, that is, schools, courts, taxes and ordinances. What could go wrong? Sisolak has obviously never read any SciFi. Just imagine living in Zuckerville.

I have a theory. The 'defund the cops' shtick was a precursor to just this. In reality they want to replace the system. The corporations want to have coercive power. Something out of the Open Society/Alvin Toffler revolution rulebook.

15 states and the District of Columbia have passed laws to allow illegal aliens to obtain driver’s licenses: California, Colorado, Connecticut, Delaware, Hawaii, Illinois, Maryland, Nevada, New Jersey, New Mexico, New York, Oregon, Utah, Vermont, and Washington.
So drive with extreme caution around ANYONE with a license plate from these state on their vehicle, especially if its a Tesla.

When we lived in Germany and Belgium we were required to get a national drivers license by the end of the first year of residence, necessary because the international drivers license we got before we left home was only good for twelve months. In both countries we had to provide documents showing legal residence and our current address, and our American license meant we didn’t have to pass the usual tests — a relief in Germany, as I was not at all certain I would be able to pass.

Planned legislation to establish new business areas in Nevada would allow technology companies to effectively form separate local governments.
Democratic Gov. Steve Sisolak announced a plan to launch so-called Innovation Zones in Nevada to jumpstart the state’s economy by attracting technology firms, Las Vegas Review-Journal reported Wednesday.
The zones would permit companies with large areas of land to form governments carrying the same authority as counties, including the ability to impose taxes, form school districts and courts and provide government services.
The measure to further economic development with the “alternative form of local government” has not yet been introduced in the Legislature.

Gorka stated, "I was informed yesterday by a private citizen that the Biden administration — and this comes on top of what Austin is doing with the military — but the Biden administration is working with the Senate and House intelligence committees to make amendments to an executive order from the 1980s — it’s called 12333 — to permit the NSA and the CIA to target U.S. citizens as domestic terror threats."

We are becoming the "Surveilled Society." In a free society, this becomes governmental over-reach and perversion. For what purpose? Manipulation, control and to instill fear of the government in its people. Over the years, our 4th Amendment has been trashed. The NKVD, Stasi, and Gestapo have used these intrusive totalitarian surveillance methods. Are we headed down this path?

This is in order to sidestep the FISA court. The court is basically designed to decide what gets "unmasked" - these "amendments" are the end around.

Without question -- unless the citizens fight back. It will take 2-3 years, but citizens need to persuade wealthy conservatives to fund the creation of an alternative network of technology providers: ISPs, server farms & cloud providers, security vendors, social media sites.
Plus the full panoply of political activists: full-time organizers, local party organizers who identify talent and recruit candidates for office, maintain voter databases and get them to the polls, election monitors.
Plus serious and professional full-time investigative journalists, as well as serious, experienced litigators.
If the above institutional levers are not developed, and fast, then the only options are either the road to serfdom or the bloody path. No use pretending we'll muddle through and come out ok.

Parler, MeWe, CloutHub, and a surprising number of others are investing in infrastructure as well as creating new social media sites.
There are websites building lists of conservative businesses and services so those who choose can more easily direct their spending toward mutual support of those the Left is trying to purge from the national economy altogether.
It’s not as easy as despair, but none of this is “last full measure of devotion” hard.

Republican challenger Claudia Tenney defeated Democrat incumbent Anthony Brindisi.

Democrat Anthony Brindisi has promised to appeal at the state court, and he could seek to contest the election results at the House of Representatives itself.
Tenney, of New Hartford, is ahead of Brindisi by 109 votes. She earned 156,099 votes to Brindisi’s 155,989.
State Supreme Court Justice Scott DelConte ruled that counties and the state elections board are to certify the election, rejecting an effort by Democrat Anthony Brindisi, who occupied the seat until November 2020, to keep the election unofficial until his appeal to a higher court concludes.
In ruling against Brindisi, DelConte argued that the Democrat did not provide enough evidence that certifying Tenney would cause "irreparable harm," given that he still had a remedy at the federal level.
It’s not clear when Brindisi’s appeal will begin. His attorneys announced Friday morning that they will appeal DelConte’s rejection of several hundred ballots that Brindisi wanted counted.

This appeared to be another solid win for President Trump in Michigan with a greater margin than his 2016 victory. The ballot counting in Detroit, Michigan on election night took place at the TCF Center, formerly known as Cobo Hall.
This is the site where Detroit City Officials put cardboard over the windows to prevent the GOP observers from seeing in, where poll workers were militantly hostile to the GOP observers, and where hundreds of affidavits by election observers claim they witnessed voter fraud.
At least three election observers testified in sworn affidavits that they witnessed vehicles delivering fraudulent ballots to the TCF Center early in the morning on November 4th.
The Gateway Pundit requested the TCF video back in December! Last Friday we were sent the requested video.
And what we found is a political bombshell.
** At 3:23 AM The Gateway Pundit has exclusive video of a white van registered to the city of Detroit entering the gate into the TCF Center.
** At 3:25 AM we discovered video from a second camera showing three individuals unloading over 50 boxes of ballots in a hallway inside the TCF Building and just outside the counting room.
** The ballots were then wheeled away on carts into the ballot counting room.
** The van is then seen on video leaving the center about 25 minutes later.
** Then we saw the van returning an hour later, entering the TCF Center again and unloading more boxes of ballots.
** The white van was escorted by a black sports car for both ballot deliveries.
** The white van was allowed through an electronic gate to enter the TCF complex.
This is video proof of the fraud in Detroit, Michigan. It is exactly as the GOP observers described it to us back in November!

Could it be the United Socialist/Democrat Party has the right elected officials and Judges in the right CYA positions?

Then present the facts in OPEN COURT allowing the public access via a Publicly accessible website stream to monitor the proceedings live.
Allow those willing to ID the ringleaders to plea out to a lesser charge of Mass Civil Rights Violations. With a sentence of 5 to 10 years and a life-time Ban from Government and any related association to it.
The Treasonous upper level civilians and Commercial ring leaders should get at a minimum 20 to life without Parole or Pardon. Forfeiture of all wealth, voting rights and etc....
In the case of Politicians, if found working as, or with Foreign Agents then maybe the death penalty should be considered?
