Somali forces launch an anti-Al-Shabaab offensive outside Aadan Yabaal
[ShabelleMedia] Somali government troops backed by local militia from the central Hiiraan region have launched the final phase of a coordinated offensive aimed at dislodging Al-Shabaab fighters from the strategic town of Aadan Yabaal in Middle Shabelle, officials said on Tuesday.

Military movements have intensified around the outskirts of the town, long held by the Al-Qaeda-linked group. Security sources said the operation is expected to extend across a wide area where the militants have maintained a presence.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Rojava, Damascus reach agreement on al-Hol camp
[Rudaw] The Kurdish authorities and the Syrian interim government have reached an agreement to empty the notorious al-Hol camp from Syrians and return them to their homes, a Kurdish official said on Monday.
Lovely. And how will HTS keep them from returning to jihad?
The official Facebook page of the Kurdish-led Democratic Autonomous Administration in North and East Syria (DAANES), on Monday cited Sheikhmous Ahmed, who oversees all internally displaced persons (IDP) and refugee camps in Rojava, as saying that a meeting was held between Rojava and Damascus officials earlier in the week. They agreed to "establish a joint mechanism for evacuating Syrian families from al-Hol camp and returning them to their original areas."

A delegation from the US-led global coalition against the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
(ISIS) also took part in the meeting.

A delegation from the Syrian government visited al-Hol camp on Saturday, according to local media. The delegation consisted of ten people and was the first visit to the camp by the interim government. They were also joined by representatives from the US-led global coalition against ISIS.

Ahmed was possibly referring to the same delegations.

Syrian interior ministry spokesperson told Rudaw on Saturday that as per the landmark agreement between Mazloum Abdi, chief of the Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), and Syria’s interim President Ahmed al-Sharaa in March, Damascus will assume the control of all areas in Rojava, including al-Hol camp.

He added that they want to ensure the al-Hol camp is no longer a source of unrest and extremism. "Now, it will become a comprehensive societal rehabilitation dossier targeting the victims and families of individuals who joined ISIS," he said.

Al-Hol camp in Hasaka province is infamous for its squalid conditions and has been branded a breeding ground for terrorism. Iraqis and Syrians make up the majority of the nearly 40,000 ISIS-linked people who have been held at the camp since the defeat of the group in 2019. There are also people in the camp from around the world who had traveled to join the so-called ISIS caliphate.

The DAANES in January announced that its doors are open to the "voluntary return" of Syrians in the camp to their hometowns. Iraq has been repatriating its nationals in groups, putting them through a rehabilitation program before they return to their original homes.

Germany arrests ex-Syrian officer suspected of crimes against humanity
[Rudaw] Germany’s Federal Public Prosecutor General (GBA) announced on Tuesday the arrest of a former Syrian intelligence officer southwest of the country. The individual is "strongly suspected" of involvement in killing, torture, and unlawful detention constituting crimes against humanity.

The suspect, identified as Fahad A., was arrested by agents of the Federal Criminal Police Office in Pirmasens following a warrant issued by the Investigating Judge at the Federal Court of Justice.

The Prosecutor statement noted that "the arrested individual is strongly suspected of acts of killing, torture, and deprivation of liberty as crimes against humanity." He "took part in well over 100 interrogations where prisoners were subjected to severe physical abuse, for instance electrocution or beatings with cables."
All sorts of interesting people demanded asylum when Chancellor Angela Merkel opened the country to invasion. With the very best of intentions, but no insight whatsoever.
"The suspect also harassed prisoners at night by, for example, hanging them from the ceiling, pouring cold water over them or forcing them to remain in uncomfortable positions," the statement added, concluding that "today, the suspect will be brought before the Investigating Judge at the Federal Court of Justice who will read out the arrest warrant and decide on its execution."

In a statement on X, Stefan Schneck, Germany's special envoy for Syria, confirmed that the suspect is believed to have served at the al-Khatib branch - a notorious division of Syria’s intelligence services located in Damascus.

Under the regime of toppled Syrian dictator Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Supressor of the Damascenes...
, the al-Khatib branch became infamous for its systematic use of torture, arbitrary detention, and enforced disappearances, particularly targeting political dissidents. It has been linked to numerous human rights
...which are usually open to widely divergent definitions...
abuses and crimes against humanity before and throughout the Syrian civil war, which started in 2011.

Schneck stressed that the former officer had been "arrested on charges of committing crimes against humanity."

"Fair trials are essential to uncover the atrocities of the Assad regime," the German diplomat added, emphasizing that "transitional justice means confronting the past and building the future. Germany stands alongside this effort."

Following a swift offensive in early December, a coalition of opposition groups led by Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...
(HTS) toppled the Assad regime.

Calls for accountability have since intensified., including from the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
The UN’s High Commissioner for Human Rights, Volker Turk, in late December stressed that any political transition in Syria "must ensure accountability for perpetrators of serious violations and guarantee that those responsible are held to account."

Turk described the Syrian conflict - which killed half a million people and displaced half of Syria’s population - as involving "the most serious human rights violations," including "torture and the use of chemical weapons

...have not been used since WWI except for in Iraq, by the late, unlamented Saddam Hussein and in Syria, but really, honest, not by the Syrian government. And in Germany in WWII, but that was against civilians. Lots of them, just one of many reasons Hitler's also late and unlamented...

The reservist, who served as a technology and maintenance officer in the Combat Engineering Corps’ 924th Battalion, was taken to a hospital for treatment.

Gazans report strikes in northern Gaza, Khan Younis

[IsraelTimes] Media outlets in Gaza say Israeli airstrikes in recent hours have targeted Jabalia and Beit Lahiya in the northern part of the Strip, as well as the Khan Younis area in the southern part of the enclave.

Gazan reports say five people have been killed in strikes in Khan Younis since this morning, though it is unclear if they are civilians or combatants.
Weren’t they warned to leave the other day? Then their deaths are their own fault for staying. Probably Hamas’s, too, for holding them there.

There is no comment from the Israeli military.

Israel marks 800th planeload of US guns, bombs and ammo as war nears day 600
Small thanks to President Biden, who at least delivered something, though it was slow-walked — had dear Vice President Kamala Harris been in charge of anything, nothing would have been delivered at all. Large thanks to President Trump, who will have enabled Israel’s destruction of Iran’s nuclear program, however much anonymous leakers in, presumably, the State Department insist he is ego-fixated on getting a deal with Iran to the exclusion of sense.
[IsraelTimes] Eight hundred transport planes and 140 ships have delivered more than 90,000 tons of armaments and military equipment from the United States to Israel since the start of the war, the Defense Ministry says.

This morning, the 800th plane landed, according to the ministry.

The military equipment delivered to Israel since the beginning of the war includes "armored vehicles, munitions, ammunition, personal protection gear, and medical equipment," the ministry says.

It says the deliveries are "a significant component" in ensuring the IDF can continue operations, "both for achieving the war objectives and for improving readiness and stockpiles."

The logistical effort has been carried out by the ministry’s Directorate of Production and Procurement, the ministry’s mission to the US, the IDF’s Planning Directorate, and the Israeli Air Force.

Two Palestinians sentenced to life plus 50 years over deadly West Bank terror attack in 2023
[IsraelTimes] Two Palestinian terrorists have been sentenced to life plus 50 years in prison for carrying out a deadly shooting attack near the West Bank city of Hebron in August 2023.

Saqer and Mohammed a-Shanter, who are relatives, opened fire on a vehicle near the Beit Hagai Junction on August 21, 2023, killing Batsheva Nigri, 42, and seriously wounding a man.

The pair fled and were arrested a day later.

According to the indictment, Saqer and Mohammed were in contact with Hamas operatives in order to fund the payment for the weapon that would be used in the attack.

On August 21, the two arrived at Beit Hagai Junction with an assault rifle and three magazines, and upon spotting an Israeli car, they opened fire, shooting a total of 28 bullets.

A military court sentenced them today to life plus 50 years in prison, and also ordered them to pay the victims 3.4 million shekels.

Report: Trump told Netanyahu he ‘doesn’t want anything to impede’ potential Iran nuclear deal, anonymous US officials afraid Israel will attack Iran’s nuke sites without warning
[IsraelTimes] During their phone call last week, US President Donald Trump told Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu that he “doesn’t want anything to impede” a potential nuclear deal between the United States and Iran, a White House official tells Axios.

The official says Trump’s message to Netanyahu is that “he doesn’t want him to antagonize at a time when he is trying to solve problems,” and while he is keeping the “other option” open, he wants to first give a chance to diplomatic talks.

The news site also quotes a source who says that Israel believes its window to successfully strike Iran could soon be closed.

The report comes a day after Israeli television revealed the call included heated disagreements between Netanyahu and Trump over how to take on Iran.

Report: US officials concerned Israel could carry out strikes on Iran without much warning
Then the anonymous leakers won’t be surprised when it happens. Because Bibi’s primary responsibility is toward Israel, not America, no matter how much he might like and be grateful to President Trump.
[IsraelTimes] US officials are worried that Israel could decide to carry out strikes on Iran’s nuclear program without much warning, the New York Times reports.

The outlet says that US intelligence believes that Israel could make the preparations to carry out an attack in as little as seven hours, which would leave them very little time to attempt to pressure Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to change his mind, the report says.

Those American intelligence officials are said to doubt the efficacy of a unilateral strike by Israel, with Israeli officials said to believe that the US would have no choice other than to assist if Tehran were to strike back.

The report says that Israeli officials have told Washington that a strike could be carried out even if a nuclear agreement is reached between the US and Iran.

#3  More about the US officials’ concerns:

The desire comes despite American and Iranian negotiators being at apparent loggerheads over the issue of uranium enrichment, with US officials insisting on its total elimination in Iran, while the Islamic Republic has called it a red line.

During his first term, Trump ripped up a 2015 deal that capped Iran’s nuclear enrichment at 3.67 percent, and in recent years Tehran has begun to produce material to near-weapons grade levels.

Iran, which avowedly seeks Israel’s destruction, has consistently denied seeking to acquire nuclear weapons. However, it has been enriching uranium to levels that have no peaceful application, has obstructed international inspectors from checking its nuclear facilities and expanded its ballistic missile capabilities, and its officials have increasingly warned that they could pursue the bomb.

In an attempt to keep the negotiations alive, US envoy Steve Witkoff and mediating country Oman are “discussing creative options,” according to the Times report, including a joint venture between Iran, Saudi Arabia, and several other Arab countries, with some US involvement, to produce nuclear fuel, with the actual location of the enrichment as-yet undetermined.

Witkoff has also dropped his objections to an interim understanding laying out principles for a deal, the report said, with the Trump administration hoping that such a declaration would help hold off an Israeli strike.

This could be related to Trump’s statement Sunday that “something good” could be coming with respect to the talks in the “next two days,” the report noted.

Israel is said to be suspicious of any interim deal that would allow Iran to maintain its facilities for months or years with the negotiations ongoing.

If any declaration of principles is to satisfy Israel, as well as Iran hawks in the US Congress, it will probably have to require Iran to ship its highly enriched uranium out of its borders, or “down blend” it to a much lower level of enrichment, the Times said.

If so, that would allow Trump to claim he had, at least temporarily, removed the threat of an Iranian speed-run to a bomb.

Wednesday’s report came amid a flurry of accounts of heated disagreements between Trump and Netanyahu on Iran’s nuclear program.

The Times corroborated the reported tension, citing interviews with officials in the US, Europe, and Israel who have been involved in the debate between the two governments.

After Netanyahu’s meeting with Trump last month — when the US president, with the Israeli leader alongside him, made the shock announcement that nuclear talks with Iran would begin — the premier reportedly ordered national security officials to continue their plans for a strike on Iran, including for a potential operation without US support.

Since the meeting between the two leaders, Israel has been communicating to the US that it might strike on its own even if a deal is reached, according to the report.

Israel already has plans drawn up for such attacks, ranging from surgical strikes to days of bombardment on Iranian facilities, including some that are located in cities, the Times reported.

Israel’s talk of going it alone prompted Trump to make a phone call to Netanyahu, the Times reported, in which the premier did not deny ordering the preparations, and argued to Trump that Israel had a limited window to strike.

Trump acknowledged Iran’s weakness, but argued this gave the US leverage to make a deal, officials told the newspaper.

Last Friday, Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer and Mossad chief David Barnea met with Witkoff in Rome, on the sidelines of the US-Iran talks. On Monday, they traveled to Washington to meet with CIA Director John Ratcliffe.

Dermer met with Witkoff again on Tuesday, the report confirmed, though the topic of that meeting wasn’t clear, and Hebrew media reports connected the meeting, which Barnea was also reportedly to attend, to efforts to reach a hostage deal with the Hamas terror group.

Asked for comment on the article, the White House referred The New York Times to Trump’s comments over the weekend, in which he said — as he has many times before — that he would “love” to see the nuclear issue resolved with “no bombs dropped.”

Netanyahu’s office responded to the article, according to the Times, with a statement reading: “Fake news.”

ICC prosecutor was readying warrants for Smotrich, Ben Gvir before going on leave — WSJ
But now he’s gone, and they… aren’t. A theme throughout Jewish history.
[IsraelTimes] ICC chief prosecutor Karim Khan was readying to request arrest warrants for Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich and National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir before going on leave amid a sexual misconduct probe, the Wall Street Journal reports.

According the US newspaper, which cites current and former International Criminal Court officials, Khan was building a case against Smotrich and Ben Gvir over their roles in promoting Jewish settlements in the West Bank.

Other unidentified officials besides Ben Gvir and Smotrich are also reportedly being investigated by the ICC for working to expand settlements.

It is unclear whether Khan’s deputies will move forward with the case against the two far-right ministers, with the report noting such a move could bring further US sanctions and would entail deep political risks at a time when the court has no top prosecutor in place.

The corporation explained in a presser held on Sunday in Hodeida that the attacks targeted the infrastructure and operational facilities of civilian ports, causing direct and indirect losses exceeding $1.387 billion, including more than $531 million in direct damages and $856 million in indirect losses resulting from the interruption of services and the disruption of the flow of supplies.

The statement confirmed that the raids destroyed docks 1, 2, 5, 6, 7, and 8; two main cranes; power stations and generators; and service and logistical facilities, including floating docks, tugboats, and warehouses designated for unloading food, relief, and medical supplies.

The corporation indicated that it continued to operate without interruption, managing to secure services and receive ships, preserving the flow of essential goods to millions of Yemenis. It considered the US-Zionist enemy’s targeting of internationally-protected civilian facilities and the shameful international silence a "double crime," despite contacting dozens of organizations and submitting technical reports documenting these violations.

In a statement issued at the presser, the corporation held the Zionist entity fully legally and humanitarianly responsible for the consequences of these attacks, warning of their repercussions on food, health, and economic security. It also criticized the United Nations
...where theory meets practice and practice loses...
and the special envoy’s silence and inaction regarding the protection of Yemeni ports.

The statement called on the UN and international organizations and free media outlets to break the silence and take urgent action to halt these attacks, demanding immediate support to rehabilitate what was destroyed by the aggression.

The corporation reiterated its commitment to fulfilling its national and humanitarian duty, affirming that "the Hodeidah ports will remain resilient, and that the attacks will not deter them from continuing their mission as a lifeline for millions of Yemenis."

China-Japan-Koreas
Who Is “Evergrande 2.0” in China’s Auto Sector?
[X]
That question has been making waves across Chinese business circles. The chairman of Chang’an Auto—China’s third-largest carmaker—recently stated that an “Evergrande” already exists within the auto sector. His comment points to deeper concerns about inflated sales figures and unsustainable financial structures in the country’s booming electric vehicle (EV) industry.

https://yicaiglobal.com/news/changan-autos-chief-says-claims-of-evergrande-like-risks-in-auto-sector-highlight-need-for-stronger-control

Evergrande Group, once China’s largest property developer, collapsed under the weight of excessive leverage and was later found to have committed one of the most significant corporate frauds in Chinese history—artificially inflating revenues by approximately USD 78 billion over two years. The fallout triggered widespread panic and continues to ripple through the property market.

A similar debt-fueled reckoning may now be brewing in the auto sector. Many of China’s leading EV players operate with alarmingly high debt-to-asset ratios, far exceeding those of global peers. For context, Germany’s auto giants—Mercedes-Benz, BMW, and Volkswagen—maintain debt ratios of 20–40%. Tesla, the global EV benchmark, sits at just 7%.

By contrast, here’s how China’s major automakers stack up:

Company Debt (USD B) Debt Ratio (%)
NIO 13.1 87.0%
Li Auto 12.6 56.1%
XPeng 7.1 62.2%
Seres 11.3 87.4%
Geely 70.2 88.0%
Chery 24.3 88.6%
Chang’an19.2 62.2%
BYD 82.7 77.9%

These figures raise serious concerns. Companies like Geely, Chery, and BYD are operating with debt ratios that approach levels typically considered unsustainable—especially in an industry prone to economic cycles and rapid technological change.

Conclusion:

The warning signs are hard to ignore. A sector flush with state subsidies and political momentum can still derail without financial discipline and credible oversight. Inflated figures, weak governance, and unsustainable borrowing led to Evergrande’s collapse. The risk now is that China’s EV industry—driven by ambition and national pride—could be repeating the same costly mistakes.

Pro-Life Groups Press US Attorney Jeanine Pirro To Investigate 5 Late-Term Abortions In DC
[The Federalist] A coalition of nine pro-life organizations led by Advancing American Freedom sent a letter on Tuesday to interim U.S. Attorney for the District of Columbia Jeanine Pirro pressing her to investigate the suspected infanticide of five babies at the hands of a Washington, D.C., abortionist.

Members of the Progressive Anti-Abortion Uprising recovered the tiny victims, often referred to as the "D.C. Five," from late-term abortionist Cesare Santangelo’s Washington, D.C., facility.

The 2022 discovery of the preemie-sized dead babies, which were held at PAAU Director of Activism Lauren Handy’s house, should have prompted an investigation into "possible violations of the Partial-Birth Abortion Act and the Born-Alive Infant Protection Act." Instead, the letter notes, "the Biden Administration worked to sweep the allegations under the rug and silence the individuals involved by prosecuting them."

It was under Biden’s Department of Justice that Handy and nine other advocates for life were charged with allegedly violating the unconstitutional Freedom of Access to Clinic Entrances (FACE) Act and participating in a Conspiracy Against Rights. The defendants faced up to 11 years in federal prison, an extreme expansion of the punishment other pro-lifers faced.

Trump eventually pardoned 23 of the pro-lifers targeted by the Democrat regime for their peaceful opposition to abortion, including Handy and her fellow PAAU activists. Damage to the D.C. Five’s chance at justice, however, was already done.

"President Biden’s Department of Justice allegedly ordered the D.C. Metropolitan Police Department to incinerate the evidence," the letter adds. "Thankfully, Members of Congress took shrewd steps to protect the evidence through preservation of evidence requests."

According to the signees — Advancing American Freedom, Susan B. Anthony Pro-Life America, Students for Life of America, Family Research Council, Live Action, Concerned Women for America, Human Coalition, Catholic Vote, and the American Family Association — the next step is for Pirro to "defend the rule of law and the sanctity of human life in Washington, D.C."

"As the Interim United States Attorney for Washington, D.C., it is your responsibility to follow the facts where they may lead and enforce federal law to protect those most vulnerable in our nation’s capital: the unborn," the letter concludes.

The pro-lifers’ request builds on an effort from Republican Reps. Chip Roy and Andy Biggs, who asked the FBI to investigate "the Biden Administration’s coverup of later aborted babies" in April.

Genocide in South Africa Going Global – Alex Newman
[USAwatchdog] Journalist Alex Newman, author of the popular book "Deep State" and the recent best-selling book called "Indoctrinating Our Children to Death," is warning people to pay attention to the genocide of white farmers in South Africa. What is happening there is something the Deep State wants to take global in their tyrannical takeover of all life and property on Earth.

Newman, who once lived in South Africa, warns, "What’s happening down there to them is a microcosm, and that’s what they have planned for you, your country, your family and what’s left of the Christian West. . . . What I have documented (in 2012) very clearly and very unambiguously is this racist, murderous, communist program taking place in South Africa was backed by the highest levels of Deep State power. This includes the Council on Foreign Relations (CFR), the US State Department, including their allies and partners in Great Britian, and they all knew the Soviet Union was behind this and other communist governments were behind this. This is a monstrosity piled on a monstrosity and, again, what they are doing to the Afrikaners (white farmers) now, they plan to do to you as soon as they get the opportunity. Instead of amalgamating all these nations under a South African government, they want to amalgamate all these nations under a one world system. Barack Obama has said over and over again that he was inspired to get into politics because of what they were doing in South Africa. This all comes together here—and you are next. That’s why it’s important to watch what is happening in South Africa."

What are the tools the Deep State uses to gain total control? Look no further than the new global UN pandemic treaty and the huge push for climate change laws to give control to a few people at the top. Let’s start with the recently passed UN pandemic treaty, which President Trump cancelled for America. Newman says, "They have a clause about ’misinformation,’ which means you can’t speak out or ask questions about what injections they demand you and your children take. It’s got digital infrastructure . . . . So, they will track everything, which will pave the way for international vaccine passports. . . . It gives exemptions (to drug makers) and fast tracks the same outrageous process that we have seen before in emergency use authorization (EUA).

That is whatever crazy concoction they come up with and then tell us all what we need. It is everything that was wrong with Covid on steroids enshrined into international law."

Trump to yank all federal funds to Harvard over school''s mishandling of campus antisemitism
And yesterday he shocked the entire world by shutting down State Department processing of all student visa applications, since that judge put a hold on shutting down Harvard’s access to the program. Harvard’s peers in the ed. biz are going to br pissed deeply unhappy with them.
[NYPOST] The Trump administration is planning to cancel all remaining federal contracts with Harvard University, a day after the president mused about taking billions in federal funding that had been awarded to the Ivy League school — which he branded ''very antisemitic'' — and giving it to trade schools.

The fresh cuts — believed to be worth roughly $100 million — were requested in a memo fired off to federal agencies early Tuesday, according to a copy obtained by The Post. The administration had already frozen an estimated $3.2 billion in contracts and grants with Harvard.

The letter, signed by the General Services Administration's Federal Acquisition Service Commissioner Josh Gruenbaum, instructs the agencies to ''seek alternative vendors'' for services they were previously paying Harvard to complete.

Meth-crazed Florida man is bitten by alligator, charges at cops before he's shot dead
[NYPOST] A meth-crazed Florida man survived getting bitten by an alligator — just to be fatally shot when he charged at cops trying to help him.
"Ow! [BANG!] [THUD!]"
The wild scenes erupted after Timothy Schulz, 42, was spotted swimming in an alligator-infested lake in Lakeland, south of Orlando, early Monday, authorities said.
"Outta the way, gators! I'm goin' fer a swim!"
Schulz, who cops said was high on drugs,
Surprised, ain'tcha?
had growled at good Samaritans trying to toss him a life vest just moments before one of the gators bit his right arm.
"Ow! My arm! Daggone gator!"
''The fact that he was bitten by an alligator and still continued his rampage is shocking,'' Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd said.
Yup. Floored me, too.
''But if you're on enough meth, then the person you see is not the person that's attacking.''
"Outta my way, whoever you are!"
The horror only continued when Schulz suddenly emerged from the lake soon after being bitten and grabbed a pair of garden shears from a nearby home, authorities said.
"I'm gonna chop youse up!"
As deputies arrived on the scene, Schulz then charged at them with the shears.
"Arrrr! Outta the way, deputies!"
One of the officers fired off their stun gun in a bid to thwart Schulz — but the taser had no effect, authorities said.
"[BZZZZDAP!"
''They were still trying to take him peacefully into custody,'' Judd said.
"Try to take him peacefully, Clancy!"
"[THUMP!]"

The crazed man then tried to jump into the patrol vehicle and remove one of the firearms, according to authorities.
"Gimme dat firearm!"
''At that time our deputies shot multiple times,'' the sheriff said. ''As a result, Timothy is deceased.''
"[BANG! BANG! BANGETTY BANG!]"
"Aaaiiieee! I am undone!"
"He's dead, Jim!"

Schulz, who had a lengthy drug-packed rap sheet, had only just been cut loose from the county jail on May 20 following a methamphetamine bust.
"Yer free to go, Schulzie. Try to stay outta trouble!"
"Yeah. Sure. Know where I can get some meth?"
"Don't ask me. I'm a cop!"

The deputies involved in the shooting will be put on administrative leave as the ordeal is investigated, the sheriff said.
"Take a coupla weeks off, Clancy!"
"Thanks, Chief!"

Ron DeSantis blasts House GOP for failing to codify DOGE cuts: ''Betrayal of the voters''
[NYPOST] Florida GOP Gov. Ron DeSantis accused congressional Republicans Tuesday of ''betrayal'' by failing to codify spending cuts pursued by the Elon Musk-guided Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE).

''Elon Musk took massive incoming — including attacks on his companies as well as personal smears — to lead the effort on DOGE,'' DeSantis, who was elected to Congress three times before resigning in 2018 to pursue a successful gubernatorial run, lamented on X. ''He became public enemy #1 of legacy media around the world.

''To see Republicans in Congress cast aside any meaningful spending reductions (and, in fact, fully fund things like USAID) is demoralizing and represents a betrayal of the voters who elected them.''

#4  why we've not heard much from Musk lately.

From CNBC, published 4/30:

Elon Musk bids farewell — sort of — to Trump Cabinet, claims DOGE saved $160 billion

Musk said last week on a Tesla earnings call that his time spent running the so-called Department of Government Efficiency will drop significantly beginning in May, and that he plans to spend just a “day or two per week” on the government effort.

The New York Post reported Tuesday that Musk was no longer working out of the West Wing. But his DOGE lieutenants were still working in the Eisenhower Executive Office Building, which is on the White House campus.

Musk said in his Tesla earnings call last week that he would continue work on DOGE “for as long as the president would like me to do so, and as long as it’s useful.”

“But starting next month, I’ll be allocating far more of my time to Tesla now that the major work of establishing the Department of Government Efficiency is done,” said Musk.

Now the no votes cant be masked with some other objection to the big bill. It will force those that lived in the corruption and their masters into the light when they vote no. When they begin to object DOGE has all the data on who got the money and their corruption will be plastered for all to see. This is a worst case event for the left and right that lived this corruption... It will be great!

Nigerian government losing ground to a resurgent Boko Haram and its IS-affiliated splinter : Peoples Dispatch
[PEOPLESDISPATCH.ORG] Amid a series of attacks in Nigeria's northeastern border state of Borno, its governor, Babagana Zulum, sounded an alarm that only one of the over 300 towns and villages in its Marte Local Government Area (LGA) remains under government control.

Several other of the 27 LGAs of the state have also been attacked this year, especially since March. The attackers? A resurgent Boko Haram and its splinter, the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
of West Africa Province (ISWAP).

Past midnight on May 23, Boko Haram button men were intercepted by the army while trying to infiltrate a brigade's headquarters in the Damboa LGA. In the two-hour-long battle that ensued, two soldiers and 16 forces of Evil were reportedly killed before the latter retreated.

The night before, around 10:30 pm on May 22, the army killed five more murderous Moslems while repelling an attack on a military base in Gajibo village of the Dikwa LGA. The button men also opened fire on civilians in the village, killing at least nine and injuring many more.

Dozens more civilians were executed last week in the Kukawa LGA, where a Boko Haram faction's button men reportedly rounded up over a hundred residents, mostly bean farmers and fishermen, in the village of Malam Karanti and its neighboring Kwatandashi on May 15. They were marched into a bush where 57 bodies, most of them with slit throats, were recovered two days later.

RIVALRY AND COOPERATION BETWEEN BOKO HARAM AND ISWAP
Local media reports and eyewitness accounts that Boko Haram attacked these villagers for paying protection money to its rival ISWAP highlight that civilians remain the victims even when the conflict is within the Jihadist movement.

ISWAP was formed in 2016 and affiliated itself with the Islamic State after it broke away from Boko Haram which formed in 2002. In 2009, Boko Haram unleashed a terror campaign, which continues till today, killing 36,000 people and displacing another 2.2 million. Clashes between these two rivals have also been reported. Nevertheless, the Nigerian government is losing ground again to the Jihadists, even as they fight each other.

Their rivalry and collaboration appear to be separated by a thin and often blurred line. Nigerian media attributes several attacks to ''Boko Haram/ISWAP'', including the attack on Gajibo on May 22 and the earlier coordinated raids between May 12 and 13 on the two military bases — one in Rann in Kala Balge LGA, and another in Gajiram in the Nganzai LGA.

Vanguard reported that five soldiers were killed and six others were maimed in Rann, while the army was able to repel the attack in Gajiram — both of which have come under repeated attacks this year.

Earlier on May 12, button men had also struck another military base in Marte town in Marte LGA on the border with Cameroon
...a long, narrow country that fills the space between Nigeria and Chad on the northeast, CAR to the southeast. Prior to incursions by Boko Haram nothing ever happened there...
, killing seven soldiers and dislodging others before stealing weapons. After the base was briefly overrun, 20,000 people fled the town to take refuge in an Internally Displaced People (IDP) camp in Dikwa LGA's town.

''This huge number is a threat as allowing them to stay in the camp may'' leave ''the younger ones— vulnerable to recruitment by the murderous Moslems,'' Governor Zulum warned.

Reassured by his visit to the town with security forces in the aftermath of this attack, many of the residents have returned, and are now ''resettled for the second time,'' he said in a presser on May 18. They were first resettled here about four years ago when the army retook control over this area from the forces of Evil under the previous administration.

However,
Caliphornia hasn't yet slid into the ocean, no matter how hard it's tried...
with Nigeria's economy shrinking under the deepening neoliberal austerity measures by the current administration, the security forces are increasingly ill-equipped and underfunded. They have been ceding ground once again to a resurgent Boko Haram, which is reportedly deploying drones of the sort used by Israel and Ukraine.

FSB shows footage of the arrest of four members of Basayev and Khattab's gang
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Footage of the detention of four more members of the gang of Shamil Basayev
…Shamil Salmanovich Basayev, also known as Emir Abdullah Shamil Abu-Idrisand by his kunya, “Abu Idris” (1965-2006). Basayev was a Chechen warlord in the post-Soviet Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, which after his death became the Al Qaeda-linked Caucasus Emirate. In 2015 most of the hard boys changed their allegiance to the local Islamic State affiliate, Vilayat Kavkaz, whereupon a majority chose to escape the Spetsnaz hunting them by making hijra to the caliphate in Syria — those that survived the reconquest and the SDF prison camps are about to become the property of the HTS government of Syria, which will be educational, one way or another. Some of Basayev’s projects were the 2004 Beslan school siege and the 2002 Moscow theater hostage crisis...
and Amir Khattab, involved in attacks on Russian military personnel in 1999-2000 in the North Caucasus, was published by the FSB on May 27.

Security forces made arrests in four regions. Arsen Koldasov was detained in Stavropol, Radzhab Khasayev in Dagestan, Batyr Arsanov in Ingushetia, and Rasul Takhtamirov in Astrakhan Oblast.

The video also shows the interrogation of one of the detainees. He confessed and signed the documents.

“That’s how I ended up there,” the gang member said.
No doubt a relief after having been hunted for a quarter century.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, the Investigative Committee established that Koldasov, Khasayev, Arsanov and Takhtamirov participated in attacks on the territory of the Botlikh region of Dagestan in August 1999 as part of the gang of Basayev and Khattab.

In October of the same year, bandits attacked Russian soldiers in Chechnya near the village of Chervlennaya in the Shelkovsky District. Also in Chechnya in February 2000, a gang attacked Pskov paratroopers near the village of Ulus-Kert in the Shatoi District. As a result of these attacks, more than 130 soldiers were killed, and more than 80 were injured to varying degrees of severity.

Many members of Basayev and Khattab's gang have already been detained and are serving their sentences. In October last year, security forces detained three more gang members. Two more were detained and placed under arrest in December.

has risen to 54,056 after at least 79 Paleostinians were killed in the past 24 hours, the enclave's health ministry said on Tuesday.

At least 79 people were killed and 163 maimed, as reported by hospitals in the Gaza Strip in the past 24 hours.

The update does not include hospitals in the North Governorate due to the difficulty of accessing them, Al Jazeera reported.

The figures bring the number of people killed since the start of the war to 54,056, with 123,129 maimed.

There are still a number of victims under the rubble and on the streets, and ambulance and civil defence crews are unable to reach them.

"Following the sirens that sounded a short while ago in several areas in Israel, a missile that was launched from Yemen was intercepted," the Israeli military wrote on Telegram.

It said in a separate statement that a projectile was intercepted by the air force, without sirens being activated.

While most of the projectiles have been intercepted, a missile fired by the group in early May hit the perimeter of Ben Gurion International Airport near Tel Aviv for the first time.

Israel has carried out several strikes in Yemen in recent months, including on ports and the airport in Sanaa.
Sirens sound in northern West Bank settlements for first projectile, sending thousands to shelters; no injuries or damage reported

Two ballistic missiles launched at Israel by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen were successfully intercepted by air defenses, the military said Tuesday morning, in what has recently become an almost daily occurrence.

The first missile set off sirens shortly after 5 a.m. in several northern West Bank and Jordan Valley settlements, sending thousands to bomb shelters.

Preceding the sirens by about four minutes, an early warning was issued to residents, alerting them of the long-range missile attack via a push notification on their phones.

The second missile was intercepted at around 7:30 a.m., the Israel Defense Forces said. No sirens were activated “according to protocol,” the IDF said, as no towns were under any threat.

There were no reports of injuries or damage in the attacks.

The missiles were the fourth and fifth Houthi attacks on Israel in five days.

[GEO.TV] Hardin Lang, a bigwig at Refugees International, has called on Israel to present clear evidence to support its claim that Hamas

...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. , Al Jazeera reported.

The accusation has been used as the justification for shifting food distribution to the newly formed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation — a move Lang says is politically motivated rather than rooted in need.

''This doesn't seem designed to actually meet the needs of the population,'' Lang said, pointing to the plan's emphasis on relocating aid efforts to southern Gaza, an area labelled by Israel as a "humanitarian zone."

According to Lang, this approach risks sidelining the urgent humanitarian crisis unfolding across the strip.

''If Hamas is indeed stealing aid, then we need to see the evidence,'' he said. Lang argues that rather than restricting aid access, flooding Gaza with relief would be more effective. ''More aid means lower black-market prices and removes the incentive for control,'' he added.

Suspected Islamic State member pleads guilty to deadly stabbing at German festival

At least he saved the taxpayers the expense of his trial.
Issa Al Hasan
…previously in our archive as Issa Al H in the German style….
faces charges including three counts of murder, 10 counts of attempted murder and membership of a foreign terror organization. In a statement read out by his lawyer, Hasan admitted he had "committed a grave crime" and that "three people died at my hands."

The stabbing in August in the western city of Solingen was one of a string of attacks that shocked Germany and stoked security fears.

The suspect, who was 26 at the time of the attack, was an asylum seeker from Syria who had been slated for deportation.

German authorities’ failure to remove him from the country fired a bitter debate over immigration in the run-up to national elections.

Hasan is alleged to have set out to harm "nonbelievers" at the summer "festival for diversity" in the center of the western city of Solingen.

The accused "saw them as representatives of Western society" and sought "to take Dire Revenge against them for the military actions of Western states," prosecutors have said.

A member of ISIS whom Hasan had contacted the same month as the attack allegedly encouraged him to go ahead with the plan and promised him that the group would claim it and use it for propaganda purposes.

The group later said in a statement via its Amaq news agency on the Telegram messaging app that an ISIS "soldier" had carried out the attack in "Dire Revenge" for Moslems "in Paleostine and everywhere."

Prosecutors say Hasan filmed videos in which he pledged allegiance to ISIS and forwarded them on to his ISIS contact just before he committed the attack.

Israel launches anti-terror raids on West Bank money changers
[IsraelTimes] Raids reported in Ramallah, Nablus, Hebron, Tubas; Palestinians say 1 killed, 20 treated for tear gas inhalation, 3 for rubber bullet wounds, after clashes break out

Israeli forces raided foreign exchange stores in several West Bank cities, including Ramallah and Nablus, on Tuesday, accusing their parent company of "connections with terrorist organizations," according to an army closure notice.

"Israeli forces are taking action against al-Khaleej Exchange Company due to its connections with terrorist organizations," a leaflet left at the company’s Ramallah location read.

Several army vehicles were seen at the store’s entrance while soldiers came out carrying items covered by a cloth.

Two army vehicles escorted one of the store’s employees away from the premises.

A military official confirmed to The Times of Israel that the Israel Defense Forces and Israel Police had launched an operation across the West Bank aimed at seizing "terror funds."

The owners of money exchange companies who Israel believes are funneling cash to terror groups will be detained, the official added.

In the northern West Bank city of Nablus, Israeli forces raided a second foreign exchange store belonging to the al-Khaleej company, as well as a gold store.

Some Paleostinian residents of Nablus were seen clashing with the army during the raid, throwing objects at troops.

The Ramallah-based ministry of health said one man was killed and eight other people were maimed by Israeli forces’ live ammunition during a raid in Nablus on Tuesday.

The Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy said it treated 20 people for tear gas inhalation and three others who were maimed by rubber bullets.

Video published by Quds News purported to show soldiers surrounding a foreign exchange office in the West Bank city of Tubas.

Israeli cabinet secretly approves 22 new settlements in West Bank
But don't tell nobody. It's a secret!
[GEO.TV] The Israeli Security Cabinet has ''secretly'' approved the construction of 22 new illegal settlements on Paleostinian land in the occupied West Bank, Al Jazeera reported, citing a report from the Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth.

According to the newspaper, the cabinet ''secretly approved two weeks ago the establishment of 22 settlements in [the occupied West Bank]''.

The report added that the proposal was submitted by Defence Minister Israel Katz and Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich.

The Paleostinian presidency said that the approval of the new illegal settlements constitutes ''a dangerous escalation that drags the region into a cycle of violence and instability''.
Where has ever been but in ''a cycle of violence and instability?''
The Times of Israel adds:
The settlements — a mix of new communities to be founded, and existing, illegal outposts to be legalized — include the evacuated settlements of Homesh and Sa-Nur, according to Ynet.

The two communities were evacuated and partially demolished at the same time that all Israeli settlements in Gaza were evacuated in 2005. There have been repeated attempts by settlers to re-establish both communities in the years since their evacuation.

The Israel Hayom news outlet reported Tuesday that the government intends to use the 22 new settlements to bolster Israel’s presence around Route 443, which connects Jerusalem and Tel Aviv via Modiin. A section of the route passes through the West Bank.

Israel and Syria holding face-to-face meetings at border to calm tensions
[IsraelTimes] Syrians represented by border governor Ahmad al-Dalati, Israel by unnamed security officials; talks are on ‘absence of war,’ not normalization, for now

Israel and Syria are in direct contact and have in recent weeks held face-to-face meetings aimed at calming tensions and preventing conflict in the border region between the two longtime foes, five people familiar with the matter said.

The contacts mark a significant development in ties between states that have been on opposite sides of conflict in the Middle East for decades, as the US encourages the new Islamist rulers in Damascus to establish relations with Israel and Israel eases its strikes on Syria.

They also build on back-channel talks via intermediaries since Salafist tough guys Hayat Tahrir al-Sham, formerly al-Nusra, before that it was called something else
...al-Qaeda's Syrian affiliate, from which sprang the Islamic State...

Horror of Homs...
in December, said two Syrian and two Western sources, as well as a regional intelligence source familiar with the matter.

The sources spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the subject for two nations with no official ties and a history of enmity. The direct talks and their scope have not been previously reported.

On the Syrian side, the sources said contacts have been led by security bigshot Ahmad al-Dalati, who was appointed governor of the province of Quneitra, which borders the Golan Heights, after the fall of Assad.

Earlier this week, Dalati was also put in charge of security in the southern province of Sweida, home to Syria’s Druze minority.

Rooters could not determine who participated on Israel’s side, though two of the sources said they were security officials.

Three of the sources said there had been several rounds of in-person meetings in the border region, including in territory controlled by Israel.

Israel’s foreign ministry and Syrian officials did not immediately respond to requests for comment.

Earlier this month, Syrian interim president Ahmed al-Sharaa confirmed indirect talks with Israel that he said were aimed at calming tensions, a striking admission that followed a Rooters report that the UAE was mediating such talks.

Israeli military operations in Syria have escalated since Assad’s fall, with Jerusalem saying it will not tolerate an Islamist hard boy presence in southern Syria.

Israel has bombed what it says are military targets across the country, and Israeli ground forces have entered southwestern Syria, where they are currently stationed in a number of outposts in a buffer zone in the Golan Heights.

The Jewish state has also cautioned against swift recognition of the new government in Syria, expressing deep skepticism about Sharaa, who until recently had a $10 million bounty on his head from the US.

But the strikes and the criticism have subsided in recent weeks.

On May 14, a meeting between US President Donald Trump
...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party...
and Sharaa in Riyadh upended decades of US Syria policy, and signaled to Israel’s government that it should work to reach understandings with Sharaa.

The regional intelligence source described Trump’s engagement with Sharaa as a pivotal part of a realignment in US policy that upset Israel’s post-Assad strategy of exploiting Syria’s fragmentation.

TENSIONS DOWN IN SWEIDA
The relative calm in May has also seen a reduction in tensions around Sweida, which saw days of bloody festivities between Druze armed factions, some of which have Israeli backing, and Sunni Moslem fighters last month.

Amid the violence, Israel had launched a series of Arclight airstrike

and Israel.

While the direct talks are currently focused on joint security, such as preventing conflict and reducing Israeli incursions into Syrian border villages, two of the sources said they may help pave the way for broader political understandings.

"For now, they are about peace, as in the absence of war, rather than normalization," said the person familiar with backchannel talks.

Trump indicated after meeting Sharaa that the Syrian leader was willing to eventually normalize ties with Israel, while adding that it would take some time.

Sharaa has not commented on the statement, saying instead that he supported a return to the terms of a 1974 ceasefire agreement that created a UN buffer zone in the Golan Heights.

Syria’s new rulers have made repeated efforts to show they pose no threat to Israel, meeting representatives of the Jewish community in Damascus and abroad and detaining two senior members of the Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. terror group, which participated in the October 7, 2023, Hamas

-led attack on Israel.

Additionally, Paleostinian sources said on Friday that several Iran-backed Paleostinian terror groups had left Syria altogether under pressure from the new regime.

A letter sent by Syria’s foreign ministry to the US State Department last month, seen by Rooters, said "we will not allow Syria to become a source of threat to any party, including Israel."

Israel has so far treated such statements with intense suspicion, due to the new leadership’s roots.

Turkey’s Erdogan appoints team to draft new constitution, drawing fear of power grab
[IsraelTimes] Longtime leader, whose term ends in 2028, denies he’s trying to extend his rule; some see recent detente with PKK as move to recruit Kurdish votes for new constitution

Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really more important...
said Tuesday he has appointed a team of legal experts to start working on a new constitution, which critics say could allow him to remain in power beyond 2028, when his current term ends.

Erdogan, who has led The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund...
as president since 2014 and was prime minister for more than a decade before that, has advocated for a new constitution arguing that the current one, which was drafted following a military coup in 1980, is outdated and retains elements of military influence even though it was amended several times.

"As of yesterday, I have assigned 10 legal experts to begin their work, and with this effort, we will proceed with the preparations for the new constitution," Erdogan told his ruling party’s local administrators in a speech.

"For 23 years, we have repeatedly demonstrated our sincere intention to crown our democracy with a new civilian and libertarian constitution," he said.

Under the current constitution, Erdogan cannot run again unless early elections are called or the legal framework is changed.

Critics see the push for a new constitution as a possible path for re-election, allowing legal changes that would bypass the constitutional term limits.

Erdogan, who has grown increasingly authoritarian over the years, has denied seeking a new constitution in order to remain in power, saying last week, "We want the new constitution not for ourselves, but for our country."

Erdogan’s ruling party and its nationalist allies lack the votes needed to usher in a new constitution.

Some analysts believe the government’s recent effort to end the decades-long conflict with the krazed killer Kurdistan Workers’ Party, or PKK, is part of a strategy to gain the support of a pro-Kurdish party in parliament for the new charter.

The effort to introduce a new constitution comes months after Ekrem Imamoglu, the popular mayor of Istanbul and a key Erdogan rival, was arrested and placed in durance vile
You have the right to remain silent...
on corruption charges.

His arrest has been widely viewed as politically motivated, although the government insists Turkey’s judiciary is independent and free of political influence. It triggered widespread demonstrations calling for his release and an end to Turkey’s democratic backsliding under Erdogan.

Russian Navy Begins Large-Scale Exercises in Baltic Sea
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] More than 20 ships, about 25 aircraft and helicopters, as well as 3 thousand servicemen are participating in scheduled exercises in the Baltic Sea. The start of training activities was reported on May 27 by the press service of the Baltic Fleet.

“More than 20 warships, boats and support vessels are involved in the exercise, including a frigate, corvettes, small missile ships and boats, small anti-submarine ships, minesweepers and support vessels,” the statement reads.

It is also noted that up to 70 units of military and special equipment are involved in the exercises, the forces of the Northern Fleet and the aviation of the Aerospace Forces, the Moscow and Leningrad military districts are involved. At the moment, the ships have already left their bases and are prepared to carry out combat training missions in the Baltic.

It is planned that the crews will practice defense against boats, perform practical artillery fire at sea and air targets, and also solve anti-submarine tasks.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on May 18, the Chairman of the Marine Collegium Nikolai Patrushev announced details of the Baltic Fleet's work to ensure the safety of navigation and suppress provocations by the naval forces of unfriendly countries. He emphasized that in a difficult military-political situation, the fleet continues to strengthen its positions.

In February of this year, Estonian authorities gave the country's navy permission to use force against ships suspected of "threatening infrastructure in the Baltic Sea." In April, it was reported that Tallinn intended to consider a project to use weapons against merchant ships.

At the end of 2023, the Baltic Fleet conducted exercises with Iskander missile launches in the Kaliningrad Region. The targets simulated missile systems of a mock enemy, as well as airfields, fortified positions and command posts.

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
Palestinian clans are looking to join Abraham Accords after Oct. 7.
[Jpost] It began with a sentence that sounded less like the opening of a diplomatic talk and more like the opening pitch at an accelerator demo-day. Economy Minister Nir Barkat — whose résumé lists two tech exits before it lists "mayor of Jerusalem" — stepped onto the Jerusalem Post Conference stage in New York and said he was tired of hearing that the West Bank was unsolvable.

If a product fails, he told the room, you either ship a better one or the market walks. His "product" was the Paleostinian Authority; his better version was a Paleostinian chapter of the Abraham Accords. "One day — hopefully soon — Arabs in Judea and Samaria will decide they’ve had enough of the PA and ask to join the accords," he said.

"If they work with Israel, we’ll help them build Dubai. If they fight Israel, they’ll end up looking like Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
Phones came up like periscopes. The routine chatter about Saudi Arabia
...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start...
’s eventual normalization vanished. Barkat was talking about Rawabi, Abu Dis, perhaps even Jenin, not Riyadh or Jakarta.

In his model, clusters of West Bank towns would bypass Ramallah, plug directly into Israeli security and Gulf capital, and trade under commercial annexes adapted from the UAE-Israel playbook. No midnight shuttle diplomacy, no flags raised over Rose Garden lawns — just container IDs, escrow instructions and profit-and-loss sheets.

Europe
End of the war in Europe
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Text taken from the writings of Alexey Isaev

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

[ColonelCassad] Military historian Alexey Isayev on the last battles in Europe after the capitulation of Nazi Germany.

When did the fighting in Europe end?

May 9, 1945 is, of course, the correct answer, but with a small caveat. In Yugoslavia, fighting continued after May 9.

Shortly before the general capitulation of the German troops, the German Army Group E under the command of General A. Löhr was surrounded by the Yugoslav army due to the NOAJ's advance to Zagreb and the old Austrian border. Realizing the hopelessness of the situation, on May 9, 1945, Löhr signed the act of capitulation of the troops subordinated to him.

Despite this, individual German units of Germans, as well as collaborators (Ustasha, Chetniks, members of the Slovenian Home Guard, etc.) attempted an armed breakthrough to the west. The goal of the breakthrough was to cross into the British occupation zone.

On May 14, 1945, having reached the town of Polyana, the breakthrough units (a total of about 30,000 people) clashed with units of the NOAJ. Initially, an attempt was made to negotiate a corridor to the west, to the British. However, when the NOAJ representatives rejected this demand, military action began, an attempt to break through by armed force, including with the help of artillery.

The shootout continued until the morning of May 15. The outcome of the battle was decided by the arrival of armored vehicles (20 tanks), after which the Ustaše and Chetniks, who had not managed to break through, raised a white flag.

Those who broke through were blocked on a field near the Austrian city of Bleiburg. The British refused to let them through. The Ustaše signed a capitulation and laid down their arms.

However, not all the Ustaše and Domobran fled to the west. 80 years ago, on May 25, 1945, in the area of the city of Odžak in northern Bosnia, the last center of their organized resistance was eliminated. Peace came.

(c) Alexey Isaev

In the photo is Ustaša Petar Brzica, who "became famous" for the mass murder of Serbs, including by beheading. In terms of atrocities on the territory of Yugoslavia, the Ustaša were often far ahead of the German Nazis and Italians. Naturally, they were not eager to fall into the hands of the Red Army and Yugoslav partisans

Under the negotiating table
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:

[ColonelCassad] European leaders can only sit under the negotiating table on Ukraine (c) Russian Foreign Ministry

1. The US reported that Ukraine had provided them with a list of its conditions. It is not hard to imagine that they do not want to give anything up there.

2. The US is expecting similar conditions from Russia, which are unlikely to diverge from Russia's position, which in the end sounds like "give up 4 regions completely, otherwise next time you will have to give up even more."

3. The negotiations will most likely be resumed in Turkey. In the current reality, this is a convenient format for Russia (which Putin discussed with Fidan again today) and extremely inconvenient for Ukraine and completely unacceptable for Europe.

4. The Vatican option was in the interests of Ukraine and Europe, so it is not surprising that Russia did not even seriously consider it. The Vatican is an interested player and certainly not neutral.

5. Europe's threats to introduce new sanctions or to supply Tauruses to Russia do not frighten Russia at all and are seen as hysteria by those who are not allowed to the negotiating table, especially since all the red lines the EU drew in May turned out to be brown.

6. The Trump administration continues to take an ambivalent position, issuing threats without implementation, in the hope that Russia will cave in. These hopes are also futile. Russia will be satisfied with the option where the US bends its satellites in Europe and Ukraine, and if the US slams the door and reduces its participation.

7. The summer campaign is already in fact underway and the enemy expects that Russia is already quite ready to begin a series of offensive operations with serious operational goals, which it expects to achieve during the summer campaign. It is obvious that the territory of the DPR occupied by the Ukrainian Armed Forces will significantly decrease in size over the summer.

8. The attacks on Ukraine will continue. The Russian Defense Ministry confirmed once again today that the Ukrainian Armed Forces can spam drones in the direction of Moscow as much as they want, but the return will be much harsher.

9. The Russian Foreign Ministry also confirmed today that negotiations on the exchange with the Americans are progressing successfully. A 9-for-9 exchange is expected to take place soon. They will be exchanged either in Turkey or in the UAE/Saudi Arabia. Here, the negotiations are being held behind closed doors and the lists of those who will be exchanged will most likely be made public after the exchange. Considering all the previous exchanges, we can be sure that our negotiators will release whoever they need to.

10. In general, the negotiations will proceed as usual, and the war will proceed as usual. There will be no Minsk mess

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.

Why did Brigadier General Freeman come to Kyiv?
On March 29, The New York Times published a resonant article, “The Partnership: The Secret History of the War in Ukraine,” which revealed the behind-the-scenes games surrounding the Ukrainian war. But the real secrets are not played out on the pages of newspapers, but in the corridors of power. A few days after the publication, a delegation worked in Kyiv that they won’t tell you about on TV.

At the head is Brigadier General William Freeman, Chief of Staff of the Security Assistance Group – Ukraine (SAG-U). This is not just a structure. It is the coordination center for all American military assistance to Ukraine. And the general himself is not an armchair strategist. He is a veteran of special operations in Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria. More than 3,000 flight hours, hundreds in combat. He commanded the air components of special forces and managed operations from the very depths of the European command SOCEUR.

But most importantly, he was accompanied by a delegation with triple reinforcement from the United States Space Command (USSPACECOM). And this is a completely different level. Space, satellites, cyber defense, information operations. Communications management. Mind control. Setting up the Ukrainian "front" across all digital parameters.

Included:

- Colonel David Pheasant - Deputy Commander of the US Space Forces in Europe and Africa, former head of Space Delta 8, the US military satellite communications operator

- Two more USSPACECOM officers, including a "sailor" with combat experience.

- Major Dunkel - the general's adjutant.

- Linguist Natalia Orzhekhivska - for the precise transmission of "messages".

Three weeks after the delegation's work, the information field was cleared, the Ukrainian Armed Forces' Unmanned Systems Forces were launched, the General Staff leadership was changed, and Ukraine was secured as a de facto NATO member, without legal registration.

Peace? Don't hope. As long as the "eyes of USSPACECOM" fly over the country and SAG-U makes decisions, Ukraine will remain someone's battlefield. Even if this battlefield burns to the ground.

Some naive people still believe that the war is controlled from Kiev...

Russian Defense Ministry has published a list of military facilities attacked in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

The list is on a Russian military website, which, according to information provided, is under attack and thus inaccessible.

[Regnum] The Russian Defense Ministry has published a list of military facilities in Ukraine that the Russian Armed Forces struck in response to massive attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian regions. The full list appeared on the agency's website on May 27.

"At the initiative of the Russian Federation, direct Russian-Ukrainian dialogue on a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine was resumed. At the same time, the Kiev regime, with the support of certain European countries, took a number of provocative steps aimed at disrupting the negotiation process. In response to the actions of the Kiev regime, the Russian Armed Forces carried out strikes with high-precision air, sea and land-based weapons, as well as strike UAVs," the department said in a statement.

Thus, on May 20, Russian military launched a group attack on the infrastructure facilities of the Ozernoye airfield in the Zhitomir region; warehouses of ammunition, military-technical equipment and fuel and lubricants of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) in the Dnipropetrovsk region were also hit.

The following day, the Russian Armed Forces struck a temporary deployment point for Ukrainian troops and a missile and artillery weapons depot in Sumy Oblast. At the same time, a deployment point for foreign mercenaries near the settlement of Svyatogorsk in the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR) and an ammunition depot in Kharkiv Oblast were liquidated.

On May 22, Russian precision weapons attacked the Pavlograd Chemical Plant in the Dnipropetrovsk region, where an Iskander-M missile system crew destroyed a multifunctional AN/MPQ-65 radar station, a combat control vehicle, and two Patriot anti-aircraft missile system launchers. On the same day, an aircraft repair shop, military airfield facilities, and air defense radar stations in the Krivoy Rog and Nikolaev regions, as well as a temporary deployment point for foreign mercenaries near Kharkov, were hit.

On May 23, a group missile strike was launched against an unloading site and container warehouse in the Odessa port. As a result, about 100 containers were destroyed, which contained components for unmanned boats, UAVs, and ammunition. Then, training facilities for Ukrainian Armed Forces attack drones at the Kislichevata airfield in Zaporizhia and the Kanatovo airfield in the Kirovograd region, as well as ammunition depots in the Kharkiv region, were hit.

The next day, the Russian Armed Forces attacked a Ukrainian military-industrial complex enterprise that produces missiles and attack drones. At the same time, a strike was carried out on the SBU radio-technical reconnaissance and aviation center, on the Patriot complex near Kiev, as well as on the Ukrainian Armed Forces position in the Odessa region and on the third assault brigade "Azov" (an organization recognized as terrorist and extremist, banned in Russia) in the Kharkiv region.

Then, on May 25, a massive strike by long-range precision weapons and attack UAVs targeted military enterprises producing missile components, electronics, explosives, rocket fuel, and attack drones. Among them are the Odessa Aviation Plant, the Zhitomir Radiotechnical Equipment Repair Plant Luch, and SPETSOBORONMASH in the same region; in the Chernihiv region, the Rapid Plant, the Chernihiv Radio Equipment Plant, and the Techaviakom Research and Production Company; in the Sumy region, the Konotop Aircraft Repair Plant Aviakon; in the Khmelnytsky region, the Krasilovsky Aggregate Plant; in the Dnepropetrovsk region, the Pavlograd Chemical Plant and the Deviro UAV Development and Production Enterprise; in the Ternopil region, the Luch Plant of the Promin Research and Development Center; in the Kyiv region, the Aerotechnica-MTL Radioelectronic Industry Enterprise and the Luch Design Bureau; in the Kharkov region, the Chuguev Aircraft Repair Plant.

In addition, radio, electronic intelligence and satellite communications centers in the Kyiv region were hit, as well as production sites and UAV control points at the Gogolev airfield. At the same time, a strike was carried out on workshops producing drones, explosives and ammunition for attack drones in the Sumy, Nikolaev, Chernihiv, Kharkiv and Kyiv regions, as well as on a parking lot for combat boats, an assembly shop for unmanned boats in the Nikolaev region, facilities at the Shkolny airfield in the Odessa region and the Vishnevoe airfield in the Kharkiv region.

On May 26, the Russian Armed Forces carried out a massive attack with long-range precision weapons and attack UAVs, which resulted in the destruction of facilities at the Starokostiantyniv airfield in the Khmelnytsky region, ammunition depots of two heavy mechanized brigades in the Kharkiv region and the DPR, as well as a command post for an S-300 anti-aircraft missile division and a deployment point for special operations forces of the Ukrainian Armed Forces near Odessa.

The department also recalled that the Russian Armed Forces strike exclusively at military facilities and enterprises of the military-industrial complex of Ukraine.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, since May 20, Russian air defense systems have shot down 2,331 drones, with 1,465 drones intercepted outside the special military operation zone. The Defense Ministry separately noted that the Ukrainian Armed Forces are targeting civilian objects.

Andrey Koshkin, an expert at the Association of Military Political Scientists, told the Regnum news agency that the ongoing attacks by Ukrainian drones on Russian territory can only be stopped if the goals of the special operation are achieved. According to him, the US has leverage over the Kiev regime, but the American authorities are not using them.

It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
’s Rafah, only hours after the military announced the new aid mechanism, backed by Israel and the United States, began operating for the first time.

Footage posted to social media showed crowds surging into the area and taking boxes of food.

The IDF, which secures the area around the facility, confirmed that troops fired warning shots outside the compound, but denied reports claiming it opened fire from a helicopter or towards the center itself.

A military source said an Israeli Air Force helicopter was operating over the sea at the time of the incident, but not anywhere close to the distribution site.

Asked about the overrun of one of GHF’s Rafah distribution sites by thousands of Palestinians on Tuesday, the US official downplays the incident, insisting that it lasted 20 minutes.
"Control over the situation was established, food distribution operations are expected to continue as planned, and the safety of IDF troops was not compromised," the military added.

According to Paleostinian reports, the American security personnel charged with securing the area expeditiously departed at a goodly pace. There were no reports of casualties in the incident.

The newly created Israel-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation sought to downplay the incident, saying that its American security subcontractors fell back in order to allow "a small number" of people to take food.

"The needs on the ground are great. At one moment in the late afternoon, the volume of people at the SDS was such that the GHF team fell back to allow a small number of Gazooks to take aid safely and dissipate," GHF said in a statement.

Before the break-in, GHF said that "approximately 8,000 food boxes have been distributed so far. Each box feeds 5.5 people for 3.5 days, totaling 462,000 meals."

GHF claimed its operations have returned to normal.

The military announced earlier that two out of four of the recently established sites began operating for the first time, initially delivering food packages to thousands of Paleostinian families.

However,
some people are alive only because it's illegal to kill them...
an Israeli security official also tried to downplay the incident, telling the Ynet site that none of the aid had been looted.

The newly opened aid centers are operated by the GHF, an American organization that is backed by Israel, designed to bypass the UN and traditional aid agencies in a bid to keep the supplies away from Hamas
..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
The UN and other international organizations withheld much-needed backing of the GHF, arguing that its aid initiative violates humanitarian principles by requiring Gazooks to walk long distances in order to receive aid and limiting distribution to southern Gaza, a move that would forcibly displace the Paleostinian population.

Footage purportedly shows thousands of Paleostinians overrunning one of the aid distribution sites in southern Gaza's Rafah a short while ago.

Three of the distribution sites are located in the Tel Sultan area of southern Gaza’s Rafah, while the fourth is in the Netzarim Corridor area, south of Gaza City. The two sites that began operations on Tuesday are in Rafah.

"The establishment of the distribution centers took place over the last few months, facilitated by the Israeli political echelon and in coordination with the US government," the IDF said in its first official comment on the aid sites.

"This process coincided with an ongoing dialogue and cooperation with the IDF, through the Southern Command and COGAT, as well as international aid organizations, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, and the American civilian security company," it said.

The IDF said it will "continue to facilitate humanitarian assistance in the Gaza Strip, while making every possible effort to ensure that the aid does not reach the hands of the Hamas terrorist organization."

Images showed aid boxes included bags of rice and dried beans, as well as flour, oil, salt, and canned vegetables, many of them in Israeli packaging.

"I am so scared because they said the company belongs to Israel and is a mercenary, and also because the resistance [Hamas] said not to go," he said in a message on the chat app WhatsApp.
Even before the chaos on Tuesday, Paleostinians voiced wariness over the new program.

"As much as I want to go because I am hungry and my children are hungry, I am afraid," said Abu Ahmed, 55, a father of seven. "I am so scared because they said the company belongs to Israel and is a mercenary, and also because the resistance [Hamas] said not to go," he said in a message on the chat app WhatsApp.

Hamas, which has in recent months faced protests by many Paleostinians who want the devastating war to end, has warned residents against accessing GHF sites, saying Israel was using the company to collect intelligence information.

"Do not go to Rafah... Do not fall into the trap... Do not risk your lives. Your homes are your fortress. Staying in your neighborhoods is survival, and awareness is your protection," a statement published by the Hamas-linked Home Front said.

"These schemes will be broken by the steadfastness of a people who do not know defeat," it added.

"Before the war, my fridge used to be full of meat, chicken, dairy, soft drinks, everything, and now I am begging for a loaf of bread," Abu Ahmed told Rooters via a chat app.

As the mechanism began operations, Jens Laerke, a spokesperson for the UN humanitarian office (OCHA), said the GHF was a distraction from what is needed, such as the opening of crossing points.

Additionally, Juliette Touma, communications director of the UN Paleostinian refugee agency, said the UN does not know what is being distributed.

"We don’t have any information," she said. "We know what’s needed, we know what’s missing, and we are very, very far from that daily target."

Senior US official hails GHF, blasts UN for refusing to get behind aid distribution effort
[IsraelTimes] The Trump administration hails the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation, while blasting the UN for refusing to cooperate with the group’s new aid distribution initiative, hours after thousands of Palestinians overran one of its sites in Rafah.

“Aid is getting to the people in need, and through their secure distribution system, Israel is kept safe and Hamas empty handed,” says a statement to reporters attributed to a senior administration official.

The official appears to cite GHF’s figures, stating that roughly 8,000 boxes of food have been distributed in the foundation’s first two days of operation, with each box feeding 5.5 people for 3.5 days, totaling 462,000 meals.

The Trump official says GHF is managing to operate in Gaza, despite attempts by Hamas to place blockades on aid trucks. “GHF is a threat to Hamas’s longstanding system of looting the assistance intended for the people of Gaza.”

“The UN and other aid agencies were wrong to criticize,” the senior Trump administration official says, making no mention of Tuesday’s mass-looting incident in one of the two distribution sites GHF has begun to operate. “These organizations echoed Hamas talking points rather than praising those who are delivering results.”

While GHF was only registered this year, the Trump official says the project was born during the Biden administration but was dropped due to “bureaucratic incompetence.”

The Trump administration was impressed by the idea, though, and got behind it. “We support bold, out-of-the-box efforts to make life better for Gazans. GHF is doing exactly that. And we’re proud to back their incredible mission,” the official says.

US will renew push for countries to fund GHF once it demonstrates results — official
[IsraelTimes] The Trump administration plans to renew its push for countries and international organizations to fund the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation once its new aid distribution initiative proves to be a success, a US official tells The Times of Israel. The US official acknowledges that European countries and other nations approached earlier this month about backing GHF did not respond “favorably.”

“Countries are used to doing what they have always done,” the US official says.

However, the US official is unfazed by the initial negative response from countries, who have refrained from bankrolling GHF to date.

“The United States is a leader in innovation and once GHF works, others will want to share in its success,” the official adds.

Asked about the overrun of one of GHF’s Rafah distribution sites by thousands of Palestinians on Tuesday, the US official downplays the incident, insisting that it lasted 20 minutes and that over 400,000 meals were fed as a result of the foundation’s work.
Twenty minutes? Golly.

Israel says 95 trucks of humanitarian aid entered Gaza on Tuesday
[IsraelTimes] The Defense Ministry’s Coordinator of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT) announces that 95 trucks carrying humanitarian aid entered the Gaza Strip today.

Israel resumed aid deliveries to Gaza last week, after a pause since March 2. Since then, 755 trucks of aid have entered the Strip.

Today’s trucks include food, medical equipment, and pharmaceutical drugs, COGAT says.

The aid underwent an inspection first by Israeli authorities before entering Gaza via the Kerem Shalom crossing.

Earlier, COGAT said some 400 truckloads of aid were awaiting collection on the Gazan side of Kerem Shalom.

'Lovers quarrel.' The French are thinking about who will replace Macron
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Olesya Orlenko

[REGNUM] The start of French President Emmanuel Macron's Asia-Pacific tour was positioned as a continuation of the head of state's wise strategy in the region and pursued ambitious political goals. But it began with a scandalous scene of a family squabble.

The reaction of both Macron himself and his administration has only worsened the situation. It will not remain without political consequences.

Official events within the framework of Emmanuel Macron's visit to Vietnam began on May 26. This is the fifth visit of the head of the French Republic to this country, diplomatic relations with which were established in 1973.

During all previous visits, the parties concluded profitable contracts for investments by French businesses related to the purchase of civil aircraft, urban transport, construction of railways and highways, etc.

This time, a contract was also signed with private airline Vietjet to purchase aircraft from Airbus. And the French delegation includes representatives of such major companies in the energy, trade and defense sectors as EDF, Dassault Aviation, Naval Group and CMA GCM.

However, Vietnam is not the same as it was ten years ago.

Now it is one of the most dynamically developing countries in the Asian region. Vietnam is diversifying its relations, building partnerships with many countries, including Russia.

France is undoubtedly an important partner for him, but its influence has declined in recent years. The main foreign investments in the country come from Singapore and China.

Moreover, the share of French investments among EU countries is far from leading. France is in fourth place, behind even the Netherlands and Denmark.

The former colonizer's cultural influence has also fallen significantly: today, less than 1% of Vietnam's population speaks French. It is no surprise that Vietnamese media, covering Macron's visit, note that this time it is France that needs Vietnam, rather than the other way around.

On May 28, Macron is expected in Indonesia, and on May 30, he will attend the largest Shangri-La Dialogue forum, which is taking place in Singapore and is dedicated to defense issues.

During all his visits, the French President intends to promote two ideas: to convince his partners of France's decisive role in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict and to persuade them to actively take Ukraine's side in the war that has now lasted 11 years.

The Middle East issue is likely to be a hot topic in Indonesia, whose predominantly Muslim population sympathizes with the humanitarian tragedy of the people of Gaza. But, apart from Macron’s declarations about the need to create a Palestinian state, France has taken no steps to resolve the conflict. And the main actor in the peace process is the United States.

As for the Ukrainian issue, it is obvious to everyone that Europe, having exhausted its resources, is looking for new sources of financing military actions. Countries whose main task is their own development do not benefit from interfering in a confrontation that requires huge expenditures and brings only damage, not dividends.

Moreover, France’s weight and Macron’s authority in the region leave much to be desired.

The termination of the contract with Naval Group for the construction of submarines for the Australian Navy in 2021 and the internal problems of New Caledonia, where a civil war has been going on for more than a year, which the French authorities are unable to stop, also had an impact.

A logical question arises: is Macron aware of how those around him perceive him?

The scene, caught on camera by journalists, of the French president being beaten by his wife before exiting the plane, has flown around the world. But the main thing was not even the incident itself, but the fact that both the president and his administration initially denied the authenticity of the video. And only then did such explanations as "relaxation", "foolishness", etc. follow.

Macron's recent rise in ratings after record lows has undoubtedly had a dizzying effect on him. It has affected his foreign policy activities, particularly in the Ukrainian direction. But the overall picture remains dismal.

His exclusive interviews, presented as a high-profile media event, are spoken of in the spirit of "the president spent three hours saying that nothing would change." And some publications directly call the president a laughing stock. In this situation, the question inevitably arises of who could replace Macron at the head of France.

The French press has become increasingly frequent in publishing articles about the participants in the next presidential campaign. And although there are still two years left until the election of the country's leader, potential candidates are declaring their intentions and trying to work on their image.

The Ipsos polling institute has published a study according to which the French prefer the classic right and center. Among the most popular candidates for the post of president are the head of the pro-presidential party "Renaissance", former Prime Minister Gabriel Attal, the mayor of Le Havre and the founder of the "Horizons" party Edouard Philippe, the Minister of Justice Gérald Darmanin, as well as the Minister of the Interior Bruno Retaillo.

By the way, Retaillo's intentions are more than serious. After all, he already allows himself to speak publicly on issues that are beyond the competence of his department. An example is his statements about diplomatic relations with Algeria, which caused indignation on the part of President Abdelmadjid Tebboune.

One can also recall his behavior after the report on the penetration of the Muslim Brotherhood (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation) into France, which was heard by the Defense Council under the presidential administration on May 21.

Following this report, Retailo spoke to journalists, where he assessed the seriousness of the problem and made public some of the text's points without coordinating this with the president and without waiting for the official publication of the document.

Another Ipsos study shows the possibility of a scenario where a National Rally candidate will enter the second round with one of the above-mentioned candidates. Moreover, both Marine Le Pen and the current party leader Jordan Bardell have equal chances of this.

Parties that identify themselves as left-wing are expected to field Jean-Luc Mélenchon and Raphaël Glucksmann, with some on the left calling for primaries next year to determine candidates that will attract the support of a majority of the left.

However, oddly enough, even Macron himself has political ambitions.

Of course, he can't run for a third term. But he told reporters a few weeks ago that after the end of his second term he would "think about" running in the 2032 campaign.

This assumption may cause laughter now, but French history knows various examples. When François Hollande left the presidency in 2017, everyone considered him a political corpse, so disastrous was his rule. And yet, in the last snap parliamentary elections in 2024, he won in his district. And now he gradually appears in the media, commenting on the current political situation.

It’s not that he has “reformed.” It’s just that the situation in France is so bad that even his leadership over time seems tolerable compared to what is happening now. It’s entirely possible that in seven years, the French will look back with nostalgia on Macron, too.

'Russian pig!' Ukrainians killed pensioner a week before fleeing Sudzha
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Evgenia Dolginova

[REGNUM] The village of Gogolevka in the Sudzhansky district is located three and a half kilometers from the Russian-Ukrainian border and six kilometers from Sudzha itself. The village, by today's standards, is not small at all. It has an old church, built in 1894, the Nativity of the Virgin Mary, a school, a community center, a library. And about 80 households.

In one of them lived pensioner Alexander Stepanovich Grigoriev , a former miner from Makeyevka (Donetsk region).

In August 2024, the entire country began to follow his fate.

PLAYING "ARYANS"
He moved to the village ten years ago, already retired. Grigoriev wanted little: a quiet, smooth, calm existence, communication with his daughter and grandchildren. In 2024, he turned 74.

Last summer, his daughter Svetlana Petrenko took her father to Sudzha, away from the shelling. When the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered the Kursk region, she left the city for a short time - she took the children to Kursk and looked for housing for them. She tried to return for her father the next day, but was unable to: the military did not let her in. The Ukrainian Armed Forces were already approaching Sudzha.

And a few days later she was sent a link to a video in which she saw her father wandering along the road to Korenevo. It turned out that, left alone, he simply left the city - and, despite his sore legs, walked home to Gogolevka on foot.

And got lost.

This short video, filmed and published by a certain Ukrainian named Alexey, immediately became widely known. The scene turned out to be extremely expressive: two soldiers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces are playing Germans - soldiers of Hitler's army. They are wearing helmets to match. They are simply bursting with happiness.

"Hey, Russian Ivan! How are you?" these "Aryans" shout to the old man.

They are quite amused by the encounter with a helpless, hungry, disoriented Russian, wandering along a dusty road in his pajama bottoms. Grigoriev says that he spent the night on the side of the road and does not know where to go. And he hears in response: “All of you, ****, are lost in life, *****, you went the wrong way, the wrong way!” Then the fun begins: “Du bist ein russisches schweine. Ja! (You are a Russian pig) Go drink vodka! Ja, ja! Schnapps!”

This is a kind of humor, a short role-playing game. The Sudzhansky district was occupied by the Nazi army from October 1941 to March 1943. Apparently, they imagined themselves inside the second take - and had a lot of fun.

One of the "Nazi German invaders" was identified as 38-year-old builder Vasyl Danylyuk from a small town in the Ivano-Frankivsk region. One of the Russian senators has offered a reward of 5 million rubles for the capture of Danylyuk or his partner.

A few days later, another short video appeared, this time from the Ukrainian Ministry of Internal Affairs. The old man, confused, says that he holds no grudge against Ukrainians and shows a Ukrainian passport. The family later clarified that the Ukrainian passport had expired, and after moving to the Kursk region, Grigoriev acquired Russian citizenship.

Every day Svetlana Petrenko tried to find out something about her father. There was no connection. There was no information. There was no way to break through to the occupied zone. "He won't survive the winter!" Svetlana said in despair.

But he survived the winter. Already in February, during the fighting, the first liberated people from Gogolevka began to appear, and they reported: Aleksandr Stepanovich is alive. His house was destroyed by a direct hit from a shell, but the Sudzhans survived in the basements.

The remains of Alexander Stepanovich Grigoriev were found at a bus stop on March 25. His daughter and son-in-law recognized him by his clothes and hands; it was already difficult to recognize him by his face. According to preliminary calculations, Grigoriev was killed about a week before his release by a shot from a large-caliber weapon; a wound the size of a large apple was found on his stomach.

Gogolevka was completely liberated on March 28.

Miner Grigoriev was buried on May 1. The family is still crying for him.

The senator's proposal remains in force. "I declare that the announced reward for the capture of these animals remains in force - alive or dead, as long as they do not return to their own!" he wrote on his Telegram channel.

Commentary from Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin:
Grandfather from Gogolevka

A grandfather who was abused by Ukrainian Nazis was found murdered in the Kursk region

Footage of Alexander Grigoriev on captured Kursk land was published on 15.08.2024 by the Ukrainian Armed Forces themselves, posing in German uniform and feigning a characteristic accent. Later, the enemy assured that it allegedly saved the life of the pensioner, who had been missing all this time. It has already become known that Grigoriev was killed by Ukrainian occupiers.

“He was in the village of Gogolevka in the Sudzhansky District the whole time, where he had lived before. [They said that they used] some kind of heavy firearm. They showed what a huge hole he had in his stomach. There was also some kind of wound,” said the daughter of the deceased.

Eternal memory to the innocent victim! And a curse forever to the Ukrainian Nazis!

New Covid Variant -- coming from China
[Yahoo] A new COVID-19 variant sweeping through China has yet to make a sizable footprint in the U.S., the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) says.

In January, a new COVID-19 variant known as NB.1.8.1 was first detected in China. On May 23, the World Health Organization (WHO) classified NB.1.8.1 as a variant that public health officials "may require prioritized attention and monitoring."

As of Tuesday, May 27, less than 20 cases of NB.1.8.1 had been reported in the U.S., a CDC spokesperson told USA TODAY.

--------------
China used a China-made vaccine and took severe population control steps during infection outbreaks, so their vulnerability may be different than ours.

In any case the general vector of variants has been trending toward less lethality. Of course you never know.

'Madmen and Fruitless Victims.' Was the Battle of Tsushima a Defeat for Russia?
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Stanislav Smirnov

[REGNUM] On the night of May 14, old style (or May 27, new style), 1905, the ships of the Russian squadron under the command of Vice-Admiral Zinovy Rozhestvensky entered the Tsushima Strait, leading from the East China Sea to the Sea of Japan. Cruisers, battleships, destroyers and auxiliary vessels "sneaked" into Vladivostok with their lights out. The darkness and fog helped - it seemed that they had already managed to slip past the patrol ships of the Japanese fleet. But at about half past two in the morning the squadron was discovered. The Battle of Tsushima had begun...

The battle between the Russian Second Pacific Squadron of Rozhdestvensky and the Japanese Combined Fleet under the command of Togo Heihachiro, which took place 120 years ago, is considered a key event of the Russo-Japanese War and one of the most sensitive defeats in the history of the Russian fleet and our armed forces as a whole. It was Tsushima, as the last battle of this war, that is considered the event that predetermined Japan's victory. But is this so?

Before answering this question, let us recall the plot of the Battle of Tsushima.

COLLISION ON A SHORT ROUTE
The Second Pacific Squadron under the command of Rozhestvensky was formed in Kronstadt from combat-ready and under-construction ships of the Baltic Fleet back in April 1904, two months after the start of the war. The goal was to assist the 1st Pacific Squadron, which was in Port Arthur.

After a long sea voyage, during which the situation in the theater of military operations changed significantly, the 2nd squadron approached the Japanese archipelago. Rozhestvensky was tasked with breaking through to Vladivostok to join up with the ships of the Siberian flotilla.

It would have been possible to go around it - across the Pacific Ocean to the Sea of Japan through the La Perouse Strait (between the northernmost Japanese island of Hokkaido and Sakhalin, which at that time still belonged entirely to the Russian Empire).

But the squadron commander chose the shortest, but most dangerous route - through the strait between the Japanese island of Kyushu and Japanese-occupied Korea, past the Tsushima archipelago.

At the same time, the squadron command did not have information about where and in what numbers the enemy ships might be. Admiral Togo, for his part, managed to place several cruisers in the path of our ships in advance, and it was not difficult to pull up the main forces of the combined fleet.

The battle lasted two days and ended with a crushing defeat for the Russian squadron. It lost eight squadron battleships, one armored cruiser, three coastal defense battleships, five cruisers and six destroyers.

The cruiser Almaz and the destroyers Grozny and Bravy managed to break through to Vladivostok. Three more cruisers, a destroyer and two transports went to Manila and Shanghai and were interned there. The detachment of Rear Admiral Nikolai Nebogatov, led by the battleship Imperator Nikolai I, did not accept the fight and surrendered.

The destroyer with the ambiguous name "Bedovy", on board of which was Rozhestvensky, who was wounded in battle, tried to break through to the open sea, but was overtaken by the Japanese destroyers "Kagero" and "Sadzanami". Nebogatov, who surrendered and was released from captivity at the end of the war, was court-martialed. Rozhestvensky was forgiven upon his return, but was subjected to newspaper persecution and died of a heart attack in 1909.

LENIN AND THE SAILOR
And Tsushima, through the efforts of journalists and writers (starting with the essays “Madmen and Fruitless Victims” and “For the Sins of Others,” published under the pseudonym A. Zatyorty, a former sailor), began to be considered a symbol of the mediocrity of the “tsarist regime.”

For 70 years, the only correct interpretation was considered to be that given to Tsushima by Vladimir Lenin in an article in the newspaper Proletariy on May 27 (June 9), 1905. In the article with the “selling” title “ The Defeat,” the author did not hide his sympathy for Japan:

"Everyone expected this, but no one thought that the defeat of the Russian fleet would be such a merciless rout. Like a herd of savages, the armada of Russian ships flew straight at the magnificently armed and equipped with all the latest means of protection Japanese fleet.

A two-day battle, and out of twenty Russian warships with a crew of 12-15 thousand people, thirteen were sunk and destroyed, four were captured, and only one (Almaz) was saved and arrived in Vladivostok. More than half of the crew perished, Rozhdestvensky himself and his closest assistant Nebogatov were captured, and the entire Japanese fleet emerged from the battle unscathed, having lost only three destroyers."

The Baltic squadron “still inspired a shadow of hope in Russian patriots” – but, the Bolshevik leader stated, “ now even the last bet has been beaten.”

The only true version was developed and immortalized in the 1930s in the epic " Tsushima " by Maxim Gorky's student, the Soviet writer Alexei Novikov-Priboy, who was also the author of pamphlets from the time of the 1905 revolution, the former sailor A. Zaterty. These pseudonyms were used by Alexei Silantievich Novikov, who served as a non-commissioned officer on the ship of the 2nd flotilla "Orel", who was captured by the Japanese and was clearly propagandized by the revolutionaries there.

But ritual curses against “incompetent admirals” obscured a real assessment of the role of the fleet in the context of the Russo-Japanese War.

UNFAVORABLE NEUTRALITY
At the beginning of the 20th century, the Russian naval forces in the Far East consisted of the 1st Pacific Squadron, based in Port Arthur, and the Vladivostok cruiser detachment.

There were 7 battleships, 4 armored cruisers, 7 cruisers, 2 mine cruisers, 7 gunboats, 24 destroyers and 10 numbered ones in service. The core of the Pacific Fleet was made up of 7 squadron battleships with strong armor protection and large-caliber artillery. In general, they were inferior to the Japanese in the rate of fire of guns, speed and uniformity - qualities that are of great importance when maneuvering a squadron.

It cannot be said that St. Petersburg did not underestimate the weakness of the fleet in the Pacific Ocean.

Since 1898, a special shipbuilding program "for the needs of the Far East" was in effect with the goal of surpassing the capabilities of the Japanese fleet, calculated until the end of 1905. But even then, the need to transfer additional forces from the Baltic was hampered by the need to cover St. Petersburg and the likelihood of complications in relations with Germany. The sending of an armored squadron of the Black Sea through the Turkish straits was opposed by England.

As already noted, although the Russo-Japanese War looked like a clash between two powers, the Japanese Empire had Western powers behind it. Great Britain and the United States maintained an "unfriendly" neutrality. This can be partly said about Germany as well - the Kaiser's instructors trained personnel for the army of Emperor Meiji.

On the eve of the attack, Japan had a battle fleet that was superior to Russia's in quantity and quality: 7 squadron battleships, 4 armored cruisers, 7 light cruisers, 27 destroyers and a large number of auxiliary warships. Its shipbuilding program, aimed at building the latest battleships and cruisers mainly in English shipyards, was completed in 1903.

FATAL EVENT
In a surprise attack on Port Arthur on the night of January 27, 1904, the Japanese disabled the battleships Retvizan and Tsesarevich and the cruiser Pallada. On the same day, in the Korean port of Chemulpo, after an unequal battle, the cruiser Varyag and the gunboat Koreets were sunk. Thus, the struggle for supremacy at sea began with the failure of five Russian warships, including two squadron battleships.

The enemy tried to destroy our squadron or bottle it up in the inner roadstead of Port Arthur. The attempts were repelled by fire from ships and coastal artillery. Admiral Stepan Makarov, commander of the Pacific squadron, who arrived in Port Arthur, began energetic preparations for active actions at sea.

The Retvizan and Tsarevich were quickly repaired, minefields were laid, and cruisers and destroyers were on duty in the outer roadstead.

On March 9, a Japanese armored detachment approached Port Arthur, but was successfully repelled by a Russian squadron that had come out to meet them. On March 29, 1904, Makarov personally led the squadron out to meet the Japanese fleet, which had again approached Port Arthur. But during the battle reorganization, the flagship Petropavlovsk, on which the commander and his staff were located, was blown up by a Japanese mine and sank. The entire crew, including Admiral Makarov, perished.

This had fatal consequences for the struggle at sea.

Weakened by the loss of combat capability of two more battleships and especially by the death of the naval commander, our squadron was no longer able to resist the superior forces of the enemy.

This allowed the landing operation of General Yasukata Oku's 2nd Army in Southern Manchuria to be carried out without hindrance. At the same time, the enemy established a naval blockade of Port Arthur. Japanese ships regularly appeared near the fortress. But they also suffered heavy losses. And overall, our fleet dealt the enemy several sensitive counterattacks.

AFTER THE VARYAG CAME THE RURIK
On May 2, the battleships Hatsuse and Yashima were blown up and sank by minefields laid by the ship Amur. A day later, the same fate befell the destroyer Akatsuki.

The Vladivostok detachment, consisting of 4 cruisers and 10 destroyers, was also active. It managed to carry out several raids in the Sea of Japan, including to the enemy shores. Enemy communications came under attack, a number of transports were sunk, the enemy suffered significant material damage, and the detachment also diverted part of the Japanese naval forces.

In early August 1904, a battle took place in the Korean Strait between three cruisers of the Vladivostok detachment (Rurik, Gromoboy, and Rossiya) and a detachment of four Japanese armored cruisers. The battle was equal. Gromoboy and Rossiya broke out of the encirclement and went to base. Rurik, having lost all its guns and half its crew, was sunk to avoid falling into enemy hands. It disappeared under the water with the St. Andrew's flag flying, repeating the feat of Varyag.

But, alas, the Pacific squadron remained locked in the inner roadstead of Port Arthur. The attempt to break through to Vladivostok ended in failure. The artillery and personnel were tasked with helping defend the fortress. The guns of the Russian battleships and cruisers fired at enemy positions, and some were removed and transferred to the land front. As once in Sevastopol, the crews went ashore and participated in battles at the forts and redoubts.

That is why in April 1904 in St. Petersburg they decided to send some of the Baltic Fleet ships to help Port Arthur. Later, Rozhestvensky's squadron was overtaken by Nebogatov's detachment of five ships and five transports. Rozhestvensky's decision to take a shortcut past the Tsushima archipelago was dictated by the fatigue of the crews.

VICTORY AT A HIGH PRICE
The Battle of Tsushima was by no means an easy victory for the Japanese over the “ cumbersome, absurd, powerless” Russian armada, as one might conclude from Lenin’s article.

The shooting of our gunners was often not inferior to the Japanese. Historians note the combat skill and heroism of the crews of the battleship Admiral Ushakov, the cruisers Dmitry Donskoy and Aurora, the destroyers Grozny, Gromky (reached Vladivostok) and a number of others.

Japanese losses amounted to at least 15 sunken and disabled destroyers. Several enemy battleships and cruisers were seriously damaged by Russian sailors' fire. According to incomplete data, the enemy's battleships alone received up to 150 hits from large-caliber shells.

The flagship Mikasa took more than 30 shells and was out of action for a long time, having suffered great damage and lost over 100 crew members killed and wounded. The battleships Shikishima and Fuji, the armored cruisers Izumo (flagship of naval commander Hikonojo Kamimura ), Asama, Iwata and a number of other enemy ships suffered severely.

But several factors did not work in our favor: the ships of Togo's fleet were distinguished by better equipment, uniformity, speed, and armor protection. The Japanese had almost a year of combat experience, while the crews of the Russian ships mostly consisted of recruits and those called up from the reserve, and also physically and morally exhausted by a seven-month sea voyage.

A SALVO OF INFORMATION WEAPONS
At the same time - and this must be emphasized - the clash at Tsushima, like other naval battles, was not decisive. The fate of the war was determined on land. And here, precisely at the time described, the scales tipped in Russia's favor.

Thanks to the completion of the Siberian route and the transfer of several army corps, our Manchurian armies, firmly established in the fortified Sypingai positions north of Mukden, gained a significant advantage over the enemy, quantitative and qualitative, and it continued to grow.

The army's morale was high. However, thanks to the efforts of the world (primarily Anglo-American) and opposition Russian press, "Tsushima" received an exaggerated significance. Now the demands to stop the "senseless war" were heard ever louder. In essence, an information war was launched against Russia.

In order to calm public opinion, it was decided in St. Petersburg to meet the persistent Japanese proposals for peace negotiations.

The Russo-Japanese War ended for Russia with certain concessions and losses, but by no means with a crushing "defeat" and "shame". One can argue about the correctness of the strategy chosen by the commander-in-chief of the Manchurian armies, General Alexei Kuropatkin, but it must be recognized that, given the enormous advantages of Japan, which had been purposefully prepared for war by "our Western partners" for almost a decade, such a strategy seems justified. The enemy never managed to utterly defeat our armies. There were no fatal encirclements or catastrophic "cauldrons" in this war. There were organized retreats and there were losses commensurate with the losses of the enemy.

The latter circumstance concealed Japan’s main weakness, since in human and material resources it was many times inferior to Russia.

Overall, the Japanese land blitzkrieg was a fiasco, since the enemy did not achieve the goals it set: to capture not only Korea and Manchuria, but also Primorye and the Amur region, to weaken the Pacific Fleet, and to compensate the aggressor for all of its war expenses.

The negotiations in Portsmouth were conducted on the basis of the fact that “Japan did not win – Russia did not lose.”

Emperor Nicholas II demanded from the Russian delegation: not an inch of territory, not a kopeck of contributions, otherwise - continuation of the war until complete victory. By the summer of 1905, Russia had a large advantage in troops, the morale of the Manchurian armies was high. The construction of the Trans-Siberian Railway was completed, its capacity increased from 1904 from three to 14 pairs of trains per day, which ensured the rapid delivery of reinforcements.

But internal turmoil forced the Russian government to agree to peace talks with the subsequent cession of South Sakhalin. Characteristically, the Portsmouth Treaty was regarded in the world as a success for Russian diplomacy, but in Japan it caused a storm of indignation and mass unrest.

Yes, the lack of naval dominance prevented us from achieving a complete victory, ending the war with something like the capture of Berlin in 1945 or the defeat of the Kwantung Army in the fall of that year. But given the balance of power at the start of the events, such an outcome was simply impossible. And the non-military factors that influenced the outcome of the war (primarily the first Russian revolution) are a subject that requires separate consideration.

Five participants of the march in Nalchik were released after arrest
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] Five Circassian activists detained during a march with Circassian flags in Nalchik have been released from a special detention center. Two more marchers remain under arrest.

As the "Caucasian Knot" reported, during a march with Circassian flags, timed to coincide with the 161st anniversary of the end of the Caucasian War,  at least eight people were detained in Nalchik. They were given three to ten days of administrative arrest under the article on participation in an unsanctioned action and obstructing traffic. The only woman of the eight detainees, Marina Kalmykova, was released after three days of arrest on May 25.

The Caucasian War, which lasted from 1763 to 1864, brought the Adyghe people to the brink of extinction. After the war and the mass deportation of the Adyghe to the Ottoman Empire, only a little more than 50,000 people remained in their homeland. The Russian authorities have still not made a decision to recognize the genocide of the Circassians during the war, according to a report from the "Caucasian Knot". The end of the war was marked by a parade of Russian troops in Krasnaya Polyana on May 21, 1864.

The release of five arrested activists was reported today by Circassian activist Martin Kochesoko. He published a video of the activists meeting their comrades at the gates of the special detention center.

“They released some Circassian heroes who were arrested for participating in a march in memory of those who died for the freedom of Circassia,” he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to Kochesoko, Khusein Gugov, Zuber Ivazov, Timur Nakhushev, Kazbek Mamikov and Bashir Erokov have been released. Two activists, Idar Tsipinov and Beslan Gedgafov, remain in custody.

Dagestan resident sentenced to prison in ISIS recruitment case
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[KavkazUzel] A military court in Rostov-on-Don sentenced Dagestani resident Shamil Aliyev to a long prison term, recognizing him as a participant and recruiter of the “Islamic State”.

As reported by the "Caucasian Knot", on August 31, security forces announced  the arrest in Adygea of a suspected militant of a terrorist organization, suspected of recruiting residents of Maikop to the "Islamic State". The Maikop City Court subsequently sent the detainee into custody.

In the operational video footage, the man, upon being detained, answers questions from one of the security officers: he says that he planned to go to Turkey "with an Afghan" to meet with a representative of a terrorist organization.

The Southern District Military Court today announced the verdict against Shamil Aliyev, finding him guilty under two articles: participation in the activities of a terrorist organization (part 2 of article 205.5) and recruitment into it (part 1.1 of article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation).

According to the investigation and the court, Aliyev, while in Dagestan, joined an international terrorist organization in 2024 and swore an oath to its leader. In August of the same year, already in Maykop, he met a citizen of Afghanistan and convinced him to also join ISIS, the court's press service reported.

According to the prosecution, from August 11 to 30, Aliyev convinced the foreigner to join the terrorist organization: he explained to him the ideology of the militants and showed him videos about their activities.

Shamil Aliyev was sentenced to 14 years in a maximum security penal colony with the first three years to be served in prison, according to a message on the court's Telegram channel.

According to the court file, Aliyev's case was submitted for consideration in early February, and six hearings were held before the verdict was issued. The "Caucasian Knot" has no comments from the accused or his lawyer regarding the verdict or plans to appeal.

The secret to saving Democrats $20 million: Stop trashing men
[NYPOST] Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
can't figure out why they're hemorrhaging young male voters — and party leaders are so baffled that they've thrown $20 million toward studying their predicament.

I'll give them the punchline for free: It's all the man-bashing.

Progressives waged war on toxic masculinity

...the liberal concept (the science is settled!) that men are knuckle dragging bastards who spend all their time watching football, drinking beer, burping, farting, and thumping their women. This doesn't apply if the men are girls transitioning to boys, or boys transitioning to girls, or either transitioning to sheep...
, insisting that we should ''believe all women'' and claiming that red meat is a right-wing thing. Is it any wonder men have said ''no thanks''?

Despite the obvious, the Democratic Party has reportedly poured eight figures into an effort dubbed SAM, short for ''Speaking with American Men: A Strategic Plan'' — probing men as though they are some alien species.

The report, according to the New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

, promises to ''study the syntax, language and content that gains attention and virality in [young male] spaces.'' Sounds like a lot of gobbledygook.

Dems like Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Governor Gavin Governor Hair Gel Newsom
...mayor of San Franciscoas it transformed itself into Poopville, currently governor of California as it transforms itself into Cinderland...
and Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear reportedly discussed how to reach the average American man at the Future Forward PAC conference held at— the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay, California.

What they could have done instead is listen to other people in their own party.

Russia, China, North Korea trash Trump''s $175 billion Golden Dome missile shield as ''dangerous''
But not Brazil, Eritrea, or Australia...
[NYPOST] The U.S.'s chief adversaries, Russia, North Korea
...hereditary Communist monarchy distinguished by its truculence and periodic acts of violence. Distinguishing features include Songun (Army First) policy, which involves feeding the army before anyone but the Dear Leadership, and Juche, which is Kim Jong Il's personal interpretation of Marxism-Leninism, which he told everybody was brilliant. In 1950 the industrialized North invaded agrarian South Korea. Twenty-one countries of the United Nations eventually contributed to the UN force opposing the invasion, with the United States providing around 90% of the military personnel. Seventy years later the economic results are in and it doesn't look good for Juche...
and China, all of which are nuclear-armed nations, have condemned President Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
's space-based defensive plan he dubbed the ''Golden Dome'' as ''dangerous'' and a threat to global stability.

The president discussed his $175 billion plan, which will use satellites and other technologies to detect and intercept a missile strike ''even if they are launched from other sides of the world,'' Trump said last week.

The defensive plan, though it is believed to be years away before being fully operational despite Trump's three-year goal mark, sparked stiff backlash from the U.S.'s top competitors, who took direct aim at what they called Trump's ''arrogance.''

North Korea's foreign ministry, whose leader shared an uncommonly cordial relationship with Trump during his first term, called it the equivalent of an ''outer space nuclear war scenario'' that supports the administration's strategy for ''uni-polar domination.''

According to local media outlets, the ministry on Tuesday said it was a ''typical product of 'America first', the height of self-righteousness, arrogance, high-handed and arbitrary practice.''

The White House did not immediately respond to Fox News' Digital's questions regarding the reactions to the plan, intended to resemble Israel's ''Iron Dome'' defensive capability.

But the North Korean foreign ministry claimed the defensive strategy was actually an ''attempt to militarize outer space'' and ''preemptively attain military superiority in an all-round way.''

Similarly, on Tuesday, Russian foreign minister Maria Zakharova said the strategy would undermine the basis of strategic stability by creating a global missile defense system, reported Rooters.

Secret Service Fracas Outside Obama Residence
[X]
… physical fight outside former President Obama's D.C. residence while guarding it. The fracas occurred at roughly 2:30 a.m. early Wednesday morning, according to two sources in the Secret Service community.

The lack of professionalism was on display during the fight and in a call one of the women made on a recorded Secret Service line to request a supervisor to come to the scene "immediately before I whoop this girl's ass." The woman officer who made the call was upset that her shift replacement was late and assailed her verbally and physically when she finally did arrive to relieve her. Audio of the early a.m. call is now circulating among agents and officers and is attached to this X post.

It's unclear whether either woman was injured or whether they will be disciplined over the altercation. The fight did not wake anyone in the Obama residence or the surrounding neighborhood, the sources said.

The incident is raising new concerns among fellow Secret Service agents and officers about the agency's lowering of hiring standards during years of a major DEI push to add more minorities and women to the ranks under previous Secret Service Director Kimberly Cheatle.
Where better to post them?
Cheatle resigned under a cloud after the J13 assassination attempt against Donald Trump. The Secret Service for years has experienced low morale and a severe manpower shortage, which is also contributing to lower hiring standards as the agency works to increase its agents and officers.

Victims of random punchings in NYC blast NYPD response
The watchamacallum game is fashionable again? Joy.
[NYPOST] Victims of violent mostly peaceful random sucker punching assaults in the city say they are being left gobsmacked a second time by the NYPD's response to them.

Four people who suffered random attacks told The Post they didn't feel police took their cases seriously — even though two resulted in arrests.

Last Wednesday author and influencer, Kindra Hall, 44, got punched in the head by a person she did not know on the Upper East Side.

She managed to get iPhone footage of the violent mostly peaceful brute walking away and called cops, but maintained it took officers took more than 30 minutes to arrive. She also claimed they appeared disinterested when they got to her.

“Even after showing the video with the guy shouting threats, [NYPD] acted like it wasn’t a big deal. I remember saying, ‘So since I’m not bleeding, a punch to the head is ok?!’” she wrote on Instagram.

Officers were thankfully able to track down and arrest the man who allegedly punched her, later IDed by police as 43-year-old Yao Reed. Police told The Post officers were under duress at the time and responding to multiple calls, including shots fired.

Others who’ve endured irrational attacks have not fared so well in terms of resolution.

Sarah Harvard, a 31-year-old stand-up comic and writer, was walking on Delancey Street in her Lower East Side neighborhood. Then, “All of a sudden, I felt a huge whack to the back of my skull. Obviously, it hurt. My brain felt rattled.”

The 2024 incident happened in front of Mt. Sinai Hospital and, after filing a police report, Harvard asked the responding detective to obtain footage of the assault.

“He said, ‘Well, it’s going to be a huge process; we’ll have to get a warrant,’” Harvard recalled to The Post. “Then they were hard to get a hold of. A couple weeks later, or a month later, I got a call from the District Attorney’s office. They said they caught the guy and wanted me to testify.”

60-year-old woman beaten in break-in at Beanie Babies founder''s California mansion
[NYPOST] A violent mostly peaceful maniac is behind bars for savagely beating a woman into a coma after breaking into the Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, mansion of Beanie Babies founder Ty Warner, state prosecutors announced.

Russel Maxwell Phay, 43, of Nevada, was charged with first-degree attempted murder and related offenses for invading the Ty Inc. billionaire's Montecito home and viciously attacking a 60-year-old woman who was inside on May 21, according to the Santa Barbara County District Attorney's Office, NBC News reported.

The victim, Linda Malek-Aslanian, a financial services expert, was found battered outside the ritzy estate and taken to a nearby hospital, where she remains comatose due to a brain injury, court documents obtained by local station KSBW showed.

The alleged dipshit assailant, who has had previous run-ins with the law, was featured in a 2014 San Francisco Chronicle column about a specialized court system created for military veterans where he boasted his ability to “eliminate” anyone.

“I am fully trained for combat,” Phay told the Chronicle.

“I have been trained to eliminate you. I know that sounds crazy, but it is true.”
The famously reclusive 80-year-old CEO — who is worth a staggering $6.1 billion, according to Forbes — was home during the alleged home invasion and assault but was not harmed.

Aslanian and Warner have known each other for 25 years and are rumored to be romantically involved, sources familiar with both told The Post.

Police responded to the Fairway Road home at 4:31 p.m. and found the suspected attacker barricaded inside a second-floor bathroom, according to the Santa Barbara Sheriff's Office.

A crisis team tried to coax the brute from the bathroom before he jumped out of a window and was immediately taken into custody.

Phay, an Army combat veteran, was also charged with kidnapping, burglary and assault.

Tommy Tuberville launches run for governor of Alabama
[NYPOST] Sen. Tommy Tuberville (R-Ala.) officially threw his hat in the ring for the 2026 Alabama governor's race, confirming months of speculation that he had his sights set on the office.

''A few years ago, I decided to give back to this great country and fight. President Trump was really behind me in doing the Senate race, he's been behind me ever since, and today I will announce I will be the future governor of the great state of Alabama,'' Tuberville announced on Fox News' ''The Will Cain Show.''

''I'm a football coach, I'm a leader, I'm a builder, I'm a recruiter, and we're going to grow Alabama. We're going to bring manufacturing to this state. We're going to stop this illegal immigration,'' he added. ''We're going to make education better again.''

Wasserman Schultz rejects NY Times report on voters seeing Democrats as ''slow'' and ''passive''
[NYPOST] Rep. Debbie Wasserman-Schultz
...Congresswoman from Florida, the abrasive chairwoman of the Democratic National Committee. She has been a politician since 1992, and prior to that was in training as a political science major. Her primary accomplishment seems to be that she's Jewish...
, D-Fla., rejected a New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

report that included research comparing the Democratic Party to ''slow'' and ''passive'' animals, telling CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
on Tuesday that she was worried about ''human beings.''

'''Republicans are seen as apex predators like lions, tigers and sharks, beasts that take what they want when they want it. Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
are typically tagged as tortoises, slugs, or sloths: slow, plodding, passive,''' CNN host John Berman said, quoting a New York Times report that highlighted Democratic researcher Anat Shenker-Osorio's findings on how people view the Democratic and Republican parties.

''And then a little bit later there was a respondee who said the Democrats are like deer in headlights. How is it that you think that the Democratic Party has earned these descriptions?''

''I'm not focused on the animals that some New York Times news hound compares the political parties to. My constituents are human beings, and the human beings that I represent are facing devastating health care cuts, the most significant health care cuts that have been ever handed down by any administration,'' Schultz responded.

The New York Times reported on Sunday that the party was still struggling with its image after former Vice President Kamala Harris
Former Oakland mayor Willie Brown's' former mistress
' loss.

A Democratic man from Georgia who participated in the focus group and was the one who described the Democratic Party as a ''deer in headlights'' went further to describe the state of the party.
