Famed Tuskeegee Airman Charles McGee passes away
[NPR] Charles McGee, a Tuskegee Airman who flew 409 fighter combat missions over three wars, has died. He was 102.

Vice President Kamala Harris and Secretary of Defense Lloyd J. Austin III on Sunday announced his death on Twitter, both of them calling McGee an American hero.

"While I am saddened by his loss, I'm also incredibly grateful for his sacrifice, his legacy, and his character. Rest in peace, General," wrote Austin, who did not specify where McGee died.

The Tuskegee Airmen is the nickname of the first African American unit to fly combat airplanes in World War II.

#1  As I posted elsewhere.

A true heroes.
He and the Tuskegee Airman earned their respect 100 fold over.

All despite the numerous social, racial and other challenges dumped on him and the 300+ other Tuskegee Airman members in life.

They did not use Skin color as an excuse. They rose above the stupid issues of the time and still fought to defend the safety and honor of ALL Americans.

They really stuck it out there.

I have to wonder, what they would have done if they met a modern day BLM Leader.

Thank-you sirs and Tuskegee Airman for your heroic services.

Snow, ice blast through South with powerful winter storm
ATLANTA (AP) — A dangerous winter storm combining high winds and ice swept through parts of the U.S. Southeast on Sunday, knocking out power, felling trees and fences and coating roads with a treacherous, frigid glaze.

Tens of thousands of customers were without power in Georgia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Florida. Highway patrols reported hundreds of vehicle accidents, and a tornado ripped through a trailer park in Florida. More than 1,200 Sunday flights at Charlotte Douglas International were cancelled — more than 90% of the airport’s Sunday schedule, according to the flight tracking service flightaware.com.

Winter Storm Izzy dumped as much as 10 inches of snow in some areas of western North Carolina as the system moved across the southeastern U.S., said Brian Hurley, a meteorologist with the Weather Prediction Center in College Park, Maryland.

First Sgt. Christopher Knox, a North Carolina Highway Patrol spokesperson, said that by midafternoon, the agency had responded to 300 car crashes and nearly 800 calls for service. Two people died Sunday when their car drove off the road and into trees in a median east of Raleigh. The driver and passenger, both 41-year-old South Carolina residents, were pronounced dead at the scene of the single-vehicle crash. Knox said investigators believe the car was driving too fast for the conditions, described as mixed winter precipitation.

On MLK Day, Yellen says US economy is unfair to Black people
ATLANTA (AP) — The U.S. economy "has never worked fairly for Black Americans — or, really, for any American of color," Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen said in a speech delivered Monday, one of many by national leaders acknowledging unmet needs for racial equality on Martin Luther King Day.

Major events for the holiday also included the annual Martin Luther King Jr. service at the slain civil rights leader’s Ebenezer Baptist Church in Atlanta, whose senior pastor, U.S. Sen. Raphael Warnock, was hosting Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp and other politicians.

Monday would have been the 93rd birthday of the Rev. Martin Luther King Jr., who was just 39 when he was assassinated in 1968 while helping sanitation workers strike for better pay and workplace safety in Memphis, Tennessee.

King, who delivered his historic "I Have a Dream" speech while leading the 1963 March on Washington and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize in 1964, remains one of the world’s most beloved figures. He considered racial equality inseparable from alleviating poverty and stopping war. His insistence on nonviolent protest continues to influence activists pushing for civil rights and social change.

Yellen referred to King’s famous speech in remarks she recorded for delivery at the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network breakfast in Washington, noting the financial metaphor he used when describing the founding fathers’ promises of equality.

King said on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial that "America has defaulted on this promissory note insofar as her citizens of color are concerned." He called it "a bad check, a check which has come back marked insufficient funds. But we refuse to believe the bank of justice is bankrupt!"

#1  The US Economy is extremely fair.

90+% of the time a person just has to get off their Butts to to train up and "EARN IT".

No one white, black, ta, yellow or whatever has a corner on earning $$$$$. True some are filthy right. What how did that happen? Usually Right place, right time having prepare some time prior.

Also please explain to me why so many of our LEGAL immigrants come here. Setup small family businesses and make a good enough living to support a family and get the kids thru College?

Also WHY the sudden abnormally early play of the Race Card by Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen? Is it because its MID-TERMS and they need to stir up the usual BLIND mistrust for votes, to maintain power?

BTW:James Earl Ray, who we are told killed MLK, was a Northern Born IL. Democrat. So does anyone care to explain how a small time petty Gas Station robber, suddenly had the skills and exp. acquire multiple Passports, travel US-Canada-Europe and have enough $$$$$ needed to pull it off?

Could it be called Elite DC "assistance"?

Plus
"Job Openings — For nearly two years, Trump and the White House boasted that the U.S. had more job openings than workers to fill them. That was the case for 23 straight months from March 2018 through February 2020 — a month before the pandemic lockdown began to swell the ranks of the unemployed."

So was it The Wuhan Virus, congress paying people MORE to sit on their butts than working, or Trumps Mgt.?

Plus ..... If a person were to look at the OBAMA figures, they would note Obama had more Minorities on unemployment.
Maybe the 50+% NON-African part of Obama was Racist?

BTW: if Factchk isn't liberal enough... USA TODAY

Also was citing higher Minority EMPLOYMENT during Trumps Admin. With again a note of a Wuhan Virus causing issues.

Government Corruption
6 Questions Our Branch Covidian Overlords Refuse To Answer
[Townhall] When it comes to anything related to Covid-19, leftists have become experts at distracting, blaming, obfuscating, censoring opposing views, and outright lying in order to further their twisted narrative and enact their tyrannical agenda. Question them directly, even politely, and expect to be dismissed, maligned, and talked down to, if you even get a ’response’ at all.

The reason they hate our questions, obviously, is that they know they can’t provide reasonable, science & data-based answers. But the fact that they’ll do everything they can to avoid them doesn’t mean we shouldn’t ask anyway, because the mere act of asking these questions is an act of resistance against Covid tyranny. In fact, we should all be asking every possible question every chance we get, both on social media and in real life. Because the story told by their actions and demeanor is every bit as important as the ’answer’ itself, should you manage to receive one.

Just watch the haughty scowls of Mr. Science himself, Dr. Anthony Fauci, when being questioned by Republican Kentucky Sen. Rand Paul at one of several Senate committee hearings over the past two years. He has no choice but to be there (it IS the United States Senate, after all), but the thought of having to explain himself to the peasants clearly rankles him, and it shows. Does that deter Paul? Of course not, because he knows he isn’t reaching Fauci or brainwashed Branch Covidians, but rather non-insane, normal people on the fence who can be swayed by a solid argument.

To that end, in no particular order, here are six questions our Branch Covidian overlords refuse to answer, because they know they will look ridiculous if they even try to begin.

#4  So people say we should not compare the treatment of the unvaccinated to the Jews of 1940, the Asians of the early 40's, or the blacks of the 1950's. But tell me the difference now of not being allowed into a city to eat, shop, or check into a hotel because your not vaccinated? The reasons for the segregation of the Jews and blacks were the same as today, they-we are considered diseased, dirty and not worthy of participating in society. The Asians were out of misguided fear, not unlike today. The newspapers today are calling to lock people in their homes or camps until the unvaccinated comply. People say what happened to the Jews, Blacks and Asians could never happen again, never happen here, but it is... Locking people up because of fear. Where are the Jews in America standing up against this? Where are the blacks standing up against this? Where are the Asians? Just like the German civilians, they are either in agreement or are hiding in fear.... Which are you??? What side of the history will you fall into?

Senator Graham On Hostage Situation At Texas Synagogue: ‘This Is A Religious War'
[WIRE] Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-SC) told Fox News on Saturday evening that the hostage situation that unfolded on Saturday afternoon at a synagogue in Texas was part of a "perfect storm brewing" and that it was a "religious war."

Graham’s remarks come after a man took several hostages at Congregation Beth Israel synagogue in Colleyville and demanded the release of a convicted Islamic terrorist who he claimed was his sister.

"This is a religious war," Graham told Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro. "What did I say on your show when we withdrew from Afghanistan? That this is a perfect storm brewing. The rise in terrorism by the Taliban taking back over; al Qaeda roams freely in Afghanistan. ISIS is alive and well over there, and the border is broken — it’s just a matter of time before terrorists over there come through our border and kill a bunch of Americans. I don’t know about the fact pattern here, but also this week, the Ayatollah’s people, the people around him, released a video indicating a desire to kill President Trump on a golf course. ... And the Biden administration hasn’t done a damn thing."

The hostages were later all freed after a hostage rescue team breached the area where they were being held and the suspect was killed. There is no official word on whether the suspect killed himself or whether law enforcement killed him.

The FBI claimed that "the hostage taker was specifically focused on an issue not directly connected to the Jewish community and there was no immediate indication that the man had was part of any broader plan," the Associated Press reported.

-Short Attention Span Theater-
The remarkable lengths taken to whitewash Bill Clinton's cosy links to pervert Jeffrey Epstein when Hillary ran for President
[MAIL] The email came out of the blue one day in 2016. Almost a decade had passed since Miles and Cathy Alexander had left their jobs as residential managers of Little St James, Jeffrey Epstein's private island in the Caribbean.

Since then, Epstein had been jailed — briefly — for paedophile offences and the couple had retired to their native South Africa.

But now Darren Indyke, the disgraced tycoon's attorney, was back in touch. The lawyer wanted the Alexanders to do something that would be of particular benefit to Hillary Clinton and her campaign to become the first female President of the United States, later that year.

CDC Sponsored 70k subject study Omicron vs Delta
[MedRxIV preprint] My review

Basically confirms general impressions.

E.g.,

of 52k Omicron infected in Southern Cal study, only 1 fatality.

Everybody vulnerable to Omicron, including acquired immunity, vaxxed and no immunity.

Elderly more likely to be hospitalized.

Vaxxed and acquired immunity provides some protection against more serious adverse results.

Both hospitalization rate and duration much less for Omicron infected than Delta infected.

In response, the Netherlands has seen huge and violent protests against those draconian strictures. I’m betting that some of those protesters were among the people who voted for Gideon van Meijeren, a young man newly elected to the Dutch Parliament. This young man, during his first appearance on the floor, managed in just two minutes to completely humiliate Prime Minister Mark Rutte. Watching the video will make your day.

For a long time, the Netherlands has had some of the most restrictive COVID measures in Europe. In November, the Netherlands was one of the countries that announced that the unvaccinated were banned from most public places. The restrictions escalated when the Netherlands, a country in which 85% of the adult population was vaccinated, had an upsurge in COVID cases. These restrictions included putting a curfew on all bars, restaurants, and most stores from 5 p.m. to 5 a.m. Immediately after the new year, the government also made it clear that, within a few months, vaccination certificates will be considered void without a booster.

In response to the government edicts, the Netherlands has been roiled by protests. There were massive protests in November, December, and (already) in January. The January protest made world headlines when the police allowed (or ordered?) their dogs to launch brutal attacks against the protesters.

A video is circulating showing van Meijeren, during his first official appearance in Parliament, asking Prime Minister Rutte a question. It’s a brilliant video because van Meijeren sticks to his guns as the Prime Minister sneers at him and at all those who are no longer on board with the world establishments’ COVID narrative. You will witness one of the great moments of someone truly speaking truth to power. Also, for an added smile, be sure to keep your eyes on the young woman sitting behind van Meijeren:

Economy
Wealth of world's 10 richest men doubled in pandemic, Oxfam says
[BBC] The pandemic has made the world's wealthiest far richer but has led to more people living in poverty, according to the charity Oxfam.

Lower incomes for the world's poorest contributed to the death of 21,000 people each day, its report claims.

But the world's 10 richest men have more than doubled their collective fortunes since March 2020, Oxfam said.

Oxfam typically releases a report on global inequality at the start of the World Economic Forum meeting in Davos.

That event usually sees thousands of corporate and political leaders, celebrities, campaigners, economists and journalists gather in the Swiss ski resort for panel discussions, drinks parties and schmoozing.

However for the second year running, the meeting (scheduled for this week) will be online-only after the emergence of the Omicron variant derailed plans to return to an in-person event.

Iraq
Kurdish banks in Baghdad hit with explosives
Jihadis, whether Sunni or Shiite, or bank robbers? Perhaps one day we’ll find out.
[Rudaw] Two Kurdish-owned banks were hit with explosives late Sunday, according to security sources.

Two people were maimed in the attacks in the Karrada area, state media reported the commander of Baghdad operations Lieutenant-General Ahmed Salim as saying.

"Security forces are opening an investigation into two simultaneous incidents in the Karrada district of Baghdad that occurred this evening," tweeted Iraq’s security media cell, noting the first explosion of was a sound bomb at Cihan Bank near the National Theater, and the second targeted Kurdistan Bank in al-Wathiq square.

The sites appear to have sustained material damage in the attacks.

Mystery surrounds loud 'explosions' heard overnight in western Iran
[Rudaw] Iranian security forces on Sunday denied links to the loud explosion that rattled several provinces in western Iran
...The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both...
overnight, media affiliated to them said in a tweet, as they noted that the bang was just a massive "thunder."

Witnesses reported hearing loud explosions last night in several provinces including Kermanshah, Kurdistan and Hamadan. Almost 12 hours after the incident, the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) said the loud explosion is not linked to the force’s activities in any way or shape.

"The explosions heard in west of the country have no connection to the activities of the security forces or anti-air defense systems," informed sources said, according to Tasnim News Agency. "The real source of the sounds heard were the occurrence of lightning in west of the country."

The authorities failed to say anything following the blasting sound, raising concerns, fear and questions among people.

A Twitter user emphasized the importance of authorities of informing the public of the happenings, while mockingly adding, "Maybe they themselves do not know what has happened."

The Iranian authorities’ statement comes in response to an IRGC-affiliated news hound who urged them to brief the public of what happened, rather than keep silent.

Previously, the governor of Asadabad city in Hamadan province had ruled out that the blast was the sound of thunder.

"We had no explosions in the city," Saeed Kitabi told Fars News Agency of the IRGC. "This was ruled out," he added, noting that they were investigating the causes of the loud blast.

The Khatam al-Anbia air defense command, which is responsible for planning and coordinating joint military operations within the Iranian forces, said that its systems did not carry out any tests and any news to the contrary is false, according to IRGC media outlets.

There were speculation that Israel may have targeted IRGC bases in western Iran.

"Israel knows better what is happening there," another social media user said on Twitter.

A third user compared the authorities silence to the time Iran stayed quiet for three days, as 176 people were killed when an Ukranian airliner was shot down over Tehran following the US liquidation of IRGC General Qassem Soleimani
.

Flights were also cancelled in western Iran overnight but the authorities said that the cancellation was due to the bad weather.

Mitt Romney: Biden has had '52 weeks of bad weeks'
[Washington Examiner] Republican Sen. Mitt Romney did not hold back when criticizing President Joe Biden’s first year in office.
You thought he was a better choice than President Trump, buddy. So they’re your 52 bad weeks. Enjoy your consequences.
When Meet the Press’s Chuck Todd asked the Utah senator what he believes the state of the nation is, Romney said the nation is "severely divided."

"When he was elected, people were not looking for him to transform America," Romney said. "They were looking to get back to normal, to stop the crazy. It seems like we’re continuing to see policy and promotions that are not accepted by the American people."

Romney also pushed back at Democratic strategist and media contributor James Carville, who had appeared on Meet the Press prior to the senator and said he would tell Biden, "Soldier on. You know, you had a bad week, but you had a good year."

"No, no, [Biden’s] had a bad year," Romney said emphatically. "He’s had 52 weeks of bad weeks. People are 7% poorer now because of Biden inflation. Gasoline prices are, what, 50% higher than they were when he took office. The border is a mess. COVID was resurgent. He didn’t have in place the [COVID] tests people needed to keep themselves safe. There was a disaster in Afghanistan. Russia is now threatening Ukraine. Things are not going well."
Remember when they were going well, buddy? It was until the last day of Donald Trump’s presidency. You, the brilliant Mitt Romney — former governor, former business owner, former business consultant, temporary US senator — were the one who decided that even Joe Biden would be better than Donald Trump, so you worked hard to effect that replacement. Swallow that thought until you choke on it... buddy.

Government Corruption
Glenn Greenwald Discusses the Deep State Effort to Stop Donald Trump from Pardoning Edward Snowden and Julian Assange
[Ron Paul Institute] There was much speculation toward the end of Donald Trump’s term as president of the United States that Trump would pardon Edward Snowden, Julian Assange, or both of these men who were responsible for exposing vast amounts of wrongdoing by the US government. But, it did not come to pass. Why? Glenn Greenwald, who played a key role in helping Snowden expose information about the US government’s mass surveillance programs and who advocated in public and behind the scenes that Trump pardon both men, has some interesting thoughts about that.

The reason Trump failed to issue a pardon for either Snowden or Assange centers on the deep state trying to protect itself by placing Trump in jeopardy, suggested Greenwald last week in an episode of his System Update show.

In a written introduction for the episode, Greenwald notes that Trump, while president, had both "raised the possibility that he might pardon Snowden" and was "actively considering a pardon for Assange."

Greenwald, in the introduction, zeros in on a recent interview of Trump by Candace Owens. In the interview, Trump stated he came "very close" to pardoning one of them but did not ultimately do so. Why? Trump said the reason was because Trump "was too nice" to issue the pardon.

Greenwald isn’t buying that explanation. He writes:

The question that obviously emerges from that answer: too nice to whom? To the U.S. security services — the CIA, NSA and FBI — which had spent four years doing everything possible to sabotage and undermine Trump and his presidency with their concoction of Russiagate and other leaks of false accusations to their corporate media allies? Too nice to the war-mongering servants of the military-industrial complex in the establishment wings of both parties who were the allies of those security services in attempting to derail Trump's America First foreign policy agenda? Too nice to John Brennan, James Clapper and Susan Rice, the Obama-era security officials most eager to see both Assange and Snowden rot in prison for life because they exposed Obama's spying crimes and the Democrats’ corruption in 2016? Trump's "I'm too nice" explanation is, shall we say, less than persuasive.

In the System Update episode, Greenwald further explains that Trump’s enmity toward these deep state forces that helped lead Greenwald and many other individuals to think that Trump may issue the pardons:

Large Migrant Group Wearing Camo Arrested in Remote West Texas Border Sector
[Breitbart] A multi-agency effort led to the arrest of a large group of migrants attempting to avoid detection by wearing camouflage. The arrest took place in a remote area of the Big Bend Sector in Texas.

Big Bend Sector Chief Patrol Agent Sean L. McGoffin tweeted an image of a large group of migrants wearing camouflage to avoid detection.

Van Horn Station agents teamed up with Texas Department of Public Safety Troopers and a U.S. Customs and Border Protection Air and Marine Operations aircrew on January 13 to locate and arrest the group of migrants. Officials report the migrants attempted to hide in the brush and utilize camo to avoid detection and arrest.

Agents transported the migrants to the Sierra Blanca Border Patrol Station for processing under CBP guidelines.

The human smuggling tactic of wearing camo is utilized frequently in this desolate area of Texas. On January 12, Van Horn Station agents apprehended another group of more than 30 migrants attempting to avoid detection.

The agents observed foot tracks leading away from the Texas-Mexico border, Chief McGoffin tweeted. The agents contacted AMO for overwatch assistance and located the group.

At night, the smugglers abandon the camo tactic in favor of dark-colored clothing. Alpine Station Border Patrol agents teamed up with Brewster County Sheriff’s Office deputies to arrest a human smuggler and a group of migrants.

Texas border patrol agents find more than 20 illegal immigrants motel 'stash houses'

[FoxNews] More than 20 illegal immigrants were found in a Texas motel where rooms were being used as "stash houses."

Officials from the U.S. Border Patrol and the Texas Department of Public Safety found more than 20 illegal immigrants in multiple rooms of a Laredo motel on Jan. 13, according to the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector.

Authorities were responding to a report of "suspicious activity" at the motel when the discovery was made.

"During the morning of Jan. 13, #TXDPS troopers and U.S. Border Patrol agents responded to a report of suspicious activity at a local motel in central Laredo. Once on scene, agents and troopers encountered over 20 undocumented individuals in multiple rooms of the motel," a Facebook post from the US Border Patrol Laredo Sector said.

The U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector also said that their agents and law enforcement partners "remain vigilant for actions by the criminal elements that attempt to exploit those they seek to smuggle for profit."

Just two days earlier, the U.S. Border Patrol Laredo Sector also announced that agents stopped a narcotics smuggling attempt and seized almost 400 lbs. of marijuana.

Border patrol agents were responding to a report of a suspicious vehicle on Jan. 10 in Laredo and found an abandoned SUV after it ran into a traffic sign.

Agents found five bundles of marijuana inside the vehicle, which is estimated to have a street value of $313,040 and weighs 391 lbs.

Science & Technology
What Might Have Been: Calm, Protection, and Care
BY JEFFREY A. TUCKER

[BrownstoneInstitute] We’ll be putting together the timeline of this disaster for many years to come. It all comes down to those fatal days between January and March 2020, from the news out of China, to the lockdowns in Northern Italy, to the lockdowns in the US.

The documented and admitted record is clear and this is the source of scandal, in my view. Top public health officials in the US, UK, and Australia spent the good part of six weeks obsessing over whether the virus was a lab leak, accidental or deliberate, and therefore what the political spin should be if it turned out to be true.

Something certainly happened to change the script in the last week of February. On February 25, 2020, Anthony Fauci wisely told CBS News the following: “You cannot avoid having infections since you cannot shut off the country from the rest of the world… Do not let the fear of the unknown…distort your evaluation of the risk of the pandemic to you relative to the risks that you face every day…do not yield to unreasonable fear.”

The next day, something shifted. Fauci wrote an email to the actress Morgan Fairchild that read as follows:

"Thanks for the note and the offer to help. It would be great if you could tweet to your many Twitter followers that although the current risk of coronavirus to the American public is low, the fact that there is community spread of virus in a number of countries besides China…poses a risk that we may progress to a global pandemic of COVID-19… And so for that reason, the American public should not be frightened, but should be prepared to mitigate an outbreak in this country by measures that include social distancing, teleworking, temporary closure of schools, etc. There is nothing to be done right now since there are so few cases in this country [NB: no way he could know this] and these cases are being properly isolated, and so go about your daily business. However, be aware that behavioral adjustments may need to be made if a pandemic occurs."

Suddenly, lockdowns were on the table. And we know what happened next. Fauci and Dr. Birx worked over the coming weeks to warm Trump up to the idea, culminating in the March 16, 2020, press conference that announced lockdowns to the nation.

Two weeks earlier, from March 3, 2020, at least, we had very good reports of the evidence out of China concerning the risk profiles of people who were vulnerable to the virus.

The new coronavirus is not an equal-opportunity killer: Being elderly and having other illnesses, for instance, greatly increases the risk of dying from the disease the virus causes, Covid-19.
Just like every other disease I can think of, being unhealthy in one direction makes the patient vulnerable to everything else coming down the pike.
It’s also possible being male could put you at increased risk.

For both medical and public health reasons, researchers want to figure out who’s most at risk of being infected and who’s most at risk of developing severe or even lethal illness. With that kind of information, clinicians would know whom to treat more aggressively, government officials would have a better idea of steps to take, and everyone would know whether they need to take special, additional precautions….

Elderly patients “were more likely to develop ARDS,” the researchers wrote, suggesting how age can make Covid-19 more severe and even fatal: age increases the risk that the respiratory system will basically shut down under viral assault.

Youth, in contrast, seems to be protective. The WHO mission reported a relatively low incidence in people under 18, who made up only 2.4% of all reported cases. In fact, through mid-January, zero children in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, had contracted Covid-19. It’s not clear whether that’s because children do not show signs of illness even if infected.

Even cases among children and teens aged 10 to 19 are rare. As of Feb. 11 there were 549 cases in that age group, 1.2% of the total, China CDC found. Only one had died….

Co-morbidities also raise the risk of dying from Covid-19. China CDC’s analysis of 44,672 patients found that the fatality rate in patients who reported no other health conditions was 0.9%. It was 10.5% for those with cardiovascular disease, 7.3% for those with diabetes, 6.3% for people with chronic respiratory diseases such as COPD, 6.0% for people with hypertension, and 5.6% for those with cancer.

Iran returns French academic to prison, saying she violated house arrest
[IsraelTimes] Judiciary claims Fariba Adelkhah broke the terms of her detention ’despite repeated warnings from judicial authorities’.

French-Iranian academic Fariba Adelkhah was tossed in the calaboose
I ain't sayin' nuttin' widdout me mout'piece!
anew for breaking house arrest restrictions, an official from the Islamic Theocratic Republic’s judiciary authority said on Sunday.

Her Gay Paree-based support group had on Wednesday announced "with great shock and indignation" her reincarceration, which comes during sensitive talks in Vienna aimed at reviving a 2015 nuclear deal which offered Tehran sanctions relief in exchange for curbs on its nuclear program.

"Ms Adelkhah... has unfortunately knowingly violated the limits of house arrest dozens of times," Kazem Gharibabadi, deputy head of the judiciary, was quoted as saying by Mizan Online, the authority’s news agency.

"She has insisted on doing so despite repeated warnings from judicial authorities. So now, like any other prisoner who has violated the same rules... she has been returned to prison," he added.

Adelkhah, 62, an expert on Iran
...The nation is noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence...
and Shiite Islam at La Belle France’s prestigious Sciences Po university, was arrested on June 5, 2019, at Tehran Airport.

She was sentenced in May 2020 to five years’ imprisonment for conspiring against national security, accusations her supporters have always denounced as absurd. In October of that year, she was placed under house arrest with an electronic bracelet.

The French foreign ministry said the reimprisonment "can only have negative consequences on the relationship between La Belle France and Iran and reduce confidence between our two countries."

French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday called the decision "entirely arbitrary," adding that "the whole of La Belle France" was "mobilized for her release."

Gharibabadi insisted that Adelkhah is "a citizen of the Islamic Theocratic Republic of Iran," adding that Tehran "firmly condemns the intervention of other countries in [its] judicial process."

Iran does not recognize dual nationality, so it has denied French consular staff access to Adelkhah.

"It is very unfortunate that the French authorities... by issuing hasty statements, make baseless and unfounded remarks that are definitely unacceptable," Gharibabadi said.

Adelkhah is one of at least a dozen Western nationals believed to be held in Iran who rights groups abroad say are being detained for political reasons to extract concessions from the West.

Talks between Tehran and global powers on the 2015 nuclear deal entered the New Year with positive signals emerging, including the European Union
...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing...
saying on Friday that a deal remained possible.

Iran’s foreign ministry front man last week cited "good progress," but French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian on Friday reiterated his view that the talks were progressing "much too slowly to be able to reach a result."

Suicide bomber targets PM Roble's spokesman in Mogadishu
[Garowe] A jacket wallah on Sunday targeted a senior Somalia's government official just days after another deadly attack in the Somali capital Mogadishu, amid ongoing political wrangles involving the opposition and the fragile UN-backed government.

State media said Mohammed Ibrahim Moalimuu, the official spokesperson of Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble was targeted by a suicide bomber in the busy Dabka Junction in Mogadishu and suffered multiple injuries.

The PM H.E Roble strongly condemns the odious terrorist attack targeting Government Spokesman, Mr. Mohammed Ibrahim Moalimu who sustained injuries today but is in stable, pH balanced condition. The PM wishes Mr. MOALIMUU a quick recovery," said OPM.

It's not clear where Mohammed Moalimuu was going but Sunday is a normal working day in Somalia, a country where the majority of residents subscribe to Islam. The Dabka Junction is notorious for such incidents based on the data available in the media.

A photographer at the scene of the earth-shattering kaboom reported seeing body parts lying on the ground outside the house of Mohammed Ibrahim Moalimuu, who was rushed to a hospital, al-Jazeera reports. The number of casualties is not yet known.

Moalimuu has been giving official updates on the current political situation in Somalia including the recently concluded National Consultative Council [NCC] in which Prime Minister Mohammed Hussein Roble was leading following an electoral dispute.

The attack also comes just a few weeks after outgoing President Mohammed Abdullahi Farmaajo differed with Roble over security and elections in Somalia, leading to the NCC meeting. At one point, Farmaajo purported to have suspended Roble.

But the standoff was solved after the meeting which was also supervised by the international partners, who are important in Somalia's development agenda. Stakeholders agreed to have Lower House elections concluded by February 25.

Al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
has taken responsibility for the attack. The group is known to wage such acts within and outside Somalia. The murderous Moslems usually take responsibility by publishing on their propaganda media outlets.

Last week, the al-Shabaab also launched an attack in the northern part of Aden Adde International Airport, which left at least 8 people dead. The group usually targets senior government officials, security forces, and innocent civilians.

There have been deliberate efforts to degrade the al-Shabaab with the African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
Mission Forces taking responsibility for such operations. Also, the Somali National Army has been carrying operations across the country.

Heritage Foundation scholar breaks down 'absurd' federalization of elections in Democrats' bill
A taste:
[FoxNews] Former Justice Department attorney Hans von Spakovsky joined "Life, Liberty & Levin" for an interview airing Sunday in which he broke down what he considered the most alarming changes to election laws that come to be if Democrats are able to pass Rep. Terri Sewell's, D-Ala., "John Lewis Voting Rights Act."

Von Spakovsky, who served under President George W. Bush and is now a fellow at the Heritage Foundation's Election Law Reform Initiative, told host Mark Levin that Sewell's bill, heavily supported by Biden and fellow Democrats, will effectively erase any independent state government's control of their own election procedures.

"These laws do everything from gutting voter I.D. laws in all the states, to putting severe restrictions on states [from] being able to verify the eligibility and qualifications of voters, and [restrictions against] cleaning up and maintain[ing] the accuracy of their voter lists," he said.

But given the extreme efforts the Liberal Socialist Democrats are willing to try to skew the vote. It is clear they feel it is their only hope of retaining some form of control.

Without doubt, we the people must have Voting Rules and Regulations designed to protect the basic concept of 1 US CITIZEN, 1 VOTE. An with that said, I would say we do need common sense nationwide standardized Voting Rules and Regulations. But we need them written in simple, plain, Common person understandable level language. Whatever is developed needs to PROTECT THE VOTE, not lay a pathway for political abuse.

I would also suggest it be put to bed in the form of a Constitutional Amendment detailing a clear voting process not subject to change/adjustment every election by a bunch of State or DC politicians. Then voted on at the citizen level in each state.

But there must be criminal laws with serious repercussions for any one and/or Special Interest-Political Group violating Election Integrity.

A Citizens Civil Right to vote must be honestly counted. There is no room for fake voters, illegally printed absentee ballots, multi-state voters, the walking dead voting, and other creative schemes Radicals and Politicians dream up from time to time.

US State Dept. denies energy deal brokered between Israel, Lebanon
[JPost] "Shhhh...it's a secret. That we had yesterday?"
The US State Department denied that the US had brokered an energy deal between Israel and Lebanon on Sunday, after Israeli media reported on Saturday that Israel may supply natural gas to Lebanon through Jordan.

Earlier on Sunday, the Lebanese Energy Ministry issued a "categorical denial" of the report, saying that the agreement being reached with Egypt would have Lebanon receive natural gas from Egypt, with the gas transported through Jordan and Syria.

Egypt receives millions of cubic feet of natural gas from Israel every day. The Lebanese Energy Ministry did not mention if it had requested that Egypt not use this gas in the supply which will be provided to Lebanon.

Civil rights attorney exposes reason behind nationwide crime spike
[FoxNews] Robert Patillo also offered a strategy to prevent crime on 'Unfiltered with Dan Bongino'.

ROBERT PATILLO:
Most of this crime is being pushed by drug gangs throughout the country. So we need to use some of our counterterrorism laws, the same ones they're using to prosecute people for other crimes around the country, use it to prosecute many of these drug gangs that are terrorizing communities. Let's do something about the importation of guns and drugs across the southern border. I think Republicans and Democrats can agree on that. Let's reform the way that we police to get officers out of the car, back walking a beat, knowing the people in their community to inspire the type of trust and understanding necessary so that you can have a community that works with the police and police to work with the community…

[DAILYYEMEN.NET] Violent confrontations erupted on Sunday in front of the Balhaf gas facility in Shabwa province, eastern Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
According to local sources, the festivities came after leaders of the UAE-funded "Shabwani Elite" militia refused to recruit hundreds of sons of al-Awaliq tribe that Awad al-Wazir, appointed by the UAE as the governor of the province, is belonging to.

Al-Wazir is heading to establish a military force to remain under his supervision in Ataq city.

The confrontations, with the UAE-backed Southern Transitional Council forces, came after al-Wazir held images of the former president Ali Saleh inside the STC’s headquarters.

six sons have convictions: Tito ibn Sheikh (born Hamza Mustafa Kamel), 35, Mohammed Kamel Mostafa, 40, Yasser Kamel, 31, Imran Mostafa Kamel, 29

  • However the remaining two sons also have a track record with extremism: Sufyan Mustafa, 27, and Othman Mustafa Kamal, 33

  • They, along with stepbrother Mohssin Ghailam, collectively chalked up 40 years in British jails
Career crook Tito ibn Sheikh appeared in the dock at Southwark Crown Court this week. But his crime — plotting to launder hundreds of thousands of pounds of stolen money for which he was sentenced to nearly four years — was perhaps less shocking than his notorious family background.

Teacher alleges she was fired for not 'meowing' back at student who identifies as a cat
[THEPOSTMILLENNIAL] A woman who was working as a substitute teacher posted a video to social media alleging she was fired by school officials for not "identifying with" a student who "identifies as a cat" after she refused to meow back at the child in class.

"Okay, okay. I've got to rant for a minute," the teacher says in a short TikTok video. Just when I thought school couldn't get any weirder, it did today."

"I'm a sub, and the most important we do is take roll, so the school gets paid. So, I'm looking at the seating chart as I'm going up and down the rows and marking who's here and who's not," the TikTok user, who uses the screen name @crazynamebridgetmichael and has posted several videos in a school setting, continues in the clip posted about four days ago. "I get to the third row and I hear this 'meow!' Uhhh, excuse me? Excuse me?" she narrates.

"I start looking on the ground, through the fourth row—everything's good. Go to the fifth row—everybody's there. Then I hear 'meow!' I'm like, 'Okay, what's up with that? Who's doing it?' And this little girl in the very front row says, 'You have to meow back at him; he identifies as a cat.' Are you kidding me?" she questions.

"I said, 'Is there a litter box in here somewhere?' My sarcasm self: I probably should not have said that," the educator continues in the clip.

"He gets up and he storms out of the classroom, and I'm like, 'Ruff!' Of course, the entire class is laughing. I think, 'Oh, no problem, no foul.' I go to the office—Are you ready for this?—to check out. They said, 'We no longer need your services if you can't identify with all the children in the classroom.' And you wonder why they don't have any subs!" the teacher exclaims on video.

"I told the lady, I said, 'I didn't know cats were considered people; I thought they were pets.' Another school off my list," the teacher concludes the TikTok video that's captioned, "a typical day of subbing! can't make this up..."

53 Syrian families to leave the Hawl Camp, northeast Syria, to go to their hometowns in Deir ez Zor
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

On Sunday, a new batch of Syrian families are preparing to leave the Hawl Camp, Hasakah eastern countryside, to go to their hometowns in Deir ez-Zor.

"The batch consists of 53 families with 217 individuals," Munir Muhammad, member of the camp’s management said.

The batch will be the 22nd of Syrian families to leave the Hawl Camp voluntarily following a decision by the Executive Council of the Autonomous Administration of North and East Syria (AANES) to take out the Syrian families wishing to leave.

In 2020, the Syrian Democratic Council (SDC) launched an initiative in coordination with dignitaries and tribal leaders to take out the Syrian families from Hawl Camp.

"The camp’s management will keep on evacuating the Syrian families wishing to leave in accordance with a program by the management to evacuate as many Syrian families as possible," Muhammad added.
Rudaw adds:
Ali Mohammed, 72, who had been put in the al-Hol camp since 2018, returned home on Sunday.

Mohammed was acting as a preacher within the ranks of ISIS and seven of his cousins who also had links within the organization were killed during clashes with Kurdish forces and campaigns of the counter-ISIS coalition in the north and east of the country

Mohammed claims he is not an extremist, nor is he linked to any radical ideology, but that all he wants is a peaceful life at home.

"I am a Muslim. I am not associated with any organizations or armed groups," Ali Mohammed, an elderly former ISIS member, told Rudaw as he was preparing to live the camp along with his family to Deir ez-Zor's outlying village of Diblane.

Camp authorities say that in coordination with local officials in Deir ez-Zor, they will monitor the behavior of the returnees.

Al-Shabaab targets Kenyan fighters for recruitment
[Garowe] On Saturday, Kenya marked two anniversaries of deadly attacks that left hundreds of civilians and security forces dead, is what caught the country unprepared and perhaps which triggered complex security operations within and along her borders.

The first anniversary was the sixth year after the deadly El-Adde attack which left hundreds of soldiers dead in one of the Forward Operating bases within the Gedo region of Somalia, perhaps the most dangerous attack on Kenya forces in the Horn of Africa.

At least 240 Kenya Defense Forces [KDF] died in the deadly attack, leading to questions about the presence of Kenyan troops in the country. After the attack, the al-Shabaab
...... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
turbans also attacked the Kulbiyow Forward Operating base a year later [2017], killing 70 soldiers.

The second anniversary involved the Dusit D2 complex attack in Nairobi, the capital of Kenya in 2019. This was perhaps the last large-scale attack by al-Shabaab within Kenya. The attack led to upscaling of security forces in Kenya and a robust operation against the bad boys.

Most al-Shabaab attacks taking place outside Somalia are waged in Kenya, a friendly neighboring country, which has also contributed forces for peacekeeping missions in Somalia. There are close to 3,500 peacekeepers in Somalia from KDF.

Data collected by various security analysts including the Center for Peace and Security of African Union
...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful...
indicate that most al-Shabaab imported muscle are recruited in Kenya. They close over to Somalia for training before being allocated duties.

Sometimes back in 2016, al-Shabaab released a propaganda video showing Kenya fighters wearing pink socks in an unidentified location within Somalia. Kenya started a program of countering violent mostly peaceful extremism by persuading them to renounce their ideologies.

"We have given them an opportunity to surrender before we catch up with them. We know the recruiting cells and so far, we have destroyed a number of them. It's time that we urge them to surrender," President Uhuru Kenyatta said in a past event.

Some of the regions the al-Shabaab targets for recruitment include Wajir, Mandera, Garissa, and Lamu Counties just along the border. There is also some recruitment done in areas such as Nairobi, Nyeri, and Isiolo.

Kenya has tried and prosecuted several suspected al-Shabaab members, with some even convicted for their crimes. In fact, three convicts almost bravely ran away from Kamiti Maximum Prison in Nairobi before being rearrested several miles on their way to Somalia.

Andrew Franklin, a former Marine now working as a security analyst within Kenya, says the inability by Kenya to make public reports about attacks and recruitment gives al-Shabaab the ability to continue shelling the country.

"Six years after El Adde, the government has failed to issue a comprehensive report nor has KDF confirmed/denied numbers of MIA/POW. As for Dusit, much remains "unknown" and to many who should know better believe lessons were learned and that Kenya is much safer!?! Next time," he wrote.

Currently, there are close to 7,000 active al-Shabaab fighters across the region but most of them are domiciled in Somalia according to statistics released by the US Africa Command. The Command has been working closely to fight al-Shabaab within East Africa.

Detained Islamic Emirate Commander Brought to Kabul
[TOLONEWS] Makhdoom Alam,
...one of those Uzbeks, he was shadow provincial governor and head of the military commission of the IEA during the previous government...
a local commander of the Islamic Emirate who was detained by the government, has been brought to Kabul, officials said.

Commander Makhdoom Alam, who was based in Faryab province, was arrested last Thursday in Balkh.

The arrest of the commander sparked widespread demonstrations by residents in Maimana, Faryab's placid provincial capital.

"The person who was arrested ... is still detained by the security forces. The investigation is underway to find out the status of the case," said Bilal Karimi, deputy front man for the Islamic Emirate.

A front man for the Islamic Emirate told the BBC that the commander was involved in kidnapping.

"Remove this issue from your mind—to do something by way of demonstrations. The demonstrations are not going to change anything. The demonstration was set up by Westerners. This is what you call democracy," said the acting Minister of Agriculture Mawlawi Abdul Rahman Rashid.

Officials in Faryab said that the situation has returned to normal in the province.

"We will not allow anyone to cause such unrest in the city," Faryab Governor Qari Hafizullah said.

Mukhdom is an influential commander of the Islamic Emirate in northern Afghanistan. The Islamic Emirate denied any type of racism in the arrest of the commander.

South Sudan, SPLA-IO splinter group to sign peace agreement in Khartoum
[SUDANTRIBUNE] South Sudanese government and an SPLA-IO splinter group will sign a peace agreement on Sunday, January 16, announced the Sudanese government.A South Sudanese security delegation led by Presidential Adviser for Security Affairs Tut Gatluak and a delegation of the SPLA/IO Kitgwang faction led by General Simon Gatwich Dual resumed peace talks in Khartoum on January 11.

Sudanese military authorities in an invitation to the media said the signing ceremony of a peace agreement and the cessation of hostilities between the government of South Sudan and a dissident movement from Machar’s faction, will take place at the Higher Academy for Security and Strategic Studies in Suba suburb.

The ceremony is expected to take place in the afternoon.

The talks had been suspended after the coup d’etat last October.

President Kiir had proposed to transfer the talks to Juba but the breakaway group rejected the offer.

The agreement will pave the way for the belated enforcement of the security arrangements and end tensions at the border area between the two Sudans.

Sudan is the guarantor of the September 2018 peace agreement which was negotiated in Khartoum.

Home Front: WoT
Day 3: Police in Manchester arrest two teenagers over Texas synagogue siege that saw anti-Semitic terrorist from Blackburn shot dead
Gee, maybe they can save a trip and interview Andy while they're there.
See Day 2 report here. Day 1 reports here and here. Also discussed yesterday here and here.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] ...as first picture of gunman emerges and his 'devastated' brother says: 'He had a criminal record. How was he allowed to travel?'
  • FBI identifies Texas synagogue shooter as 44-year-old Malik Faisal Akram, who is originally from Blackburn
Blackburn is only 30 km from Manchester, which too often appears for interesting reasons in our archives.
  • His brother, Gulbar, liaised with suspect in FBI incident room, blamed mental health issues for Faisal's auctions

  • Sibling also revealed Malik Akram had a criminal record and asked how he was able to enter the United States

  • Two teenagers from south Manchester have been arrested in connection with incident and were quizzed last night

  • US President Joe Biden condemned Akram's actions as an 'act of terror' during a PR event in Philadelphia

  • All four hostages have been released after the terrorist was shot and police stormed the Texas synagogue

  • Gunshots were heard at around 9pm CST (3am GMT) after a hostage was released and SWAT team stormed in

  • Dramatic footage captured the moment two of three remaining hostages ran out of the temple, with the gun totting terrorist right behind them before he quickly retreated inside after seeing the nearby SWAT team

  • A SWAT team had been deployed and the FBI was negotiating with him as the standoff entered hour eleven

  • Akram had demanded the release of 'Lady Al Qaeda' Aafia Siddiqui, who is serving 86 years at FMC Carswell, New York for the attempted murder of US military personnel, according to an ABC News report
The rabbi held during the siege, Charlie Cytron-Walker, has since revealed that Akram was 'increasingly belligerent and threatening' during the stand-off - which was partly livestreamed on Facebook because as part of the synagogue's planned morning shabbat.

President Biden said: 'I don't think
...he could stop there and have told the absolute truth, poor man...
there is sufficient information to know about why he targeted that synagogue, why he insisted on the release of someone who's been in prison for over 10 years, why he was engaged, why he was using anti-Semitic and anti-Israel comments'.

Biden later added that it is understood that Akram purchased the weapons used during the stand-off 'on the street' and spent his first night in the US 'in a homeless shelter'.

'He purchased them when he landed and it turns out there apparently were no bombs that we know of.

'He apparently spent the first night in a homeless shelter — I don't have all the details, so I'm reluctant to go into much more detail, but allegedly he purchased it on the street. What that means, I don't know if he purchased it from an individual in the homeless shelter or a homeless community.'

Asked if the incident meant a new push to restrict firearm access, Biden said: 'The idea of background checks are critical, but you can't stop something like this if someone is on the street buying something from somebody else on the street.'

He indicated he would have more to say at his upcoming Wednesday press conference.

Texas rabbi: Hostages managed to escape as gunman became ‘increasingly belligerent’

[IsraelTimes] Rabbi Charlie Cytron-Walker, among four people held hostage at his Congregation Beth Israel, said Sunday that the attacker grew "increasingly belligerent and threatening" toward the end of the 11-hour standoff, and revealed that the captives had escaped, crediting security courses he had taken for helping them flee.

Authorities identified the hostage-taker as a 44-year-old British national, Malik Faisal Akram, who was killed Saturday night after the last hostages ran out of the synagogue around 9 p.m and an FBI
...Formerly one of the world's premier criminal investigation organizations, something for a nation to be proud of. Now it's a political arm of the Deep State oligarchy that is willing to trump up charges, suppress evidence, or take out insurance policies come election time...
SWAT team rushed into the building, apparently shooting him dead.

"Over the years, my congregation and I have participated in multiple security courses from the Colleyville Police Department, the FBI, the Anti-Defamation League, and Secure Community Network," Cytron-Walker said in a statement late Sunday.

"We are alive today because of that education. I encourage all Jewish congregations, religious groups, schools, and others to participate in active-shooter and security courses," he said.

"In the last hour of our hostage crisis, the gunman became increasingly belligerent and threatening," Cytron-Walker added. "Without the instruction we received, we would not have been prepared to act and flee when the situation presented itself."

Asked to clarify whether the suspects escaped or were freed by the gunman, as indicated by other officials and the attacker’s family, a spokeswoman for Cytron-Walker told The Times of Israel, "They escaped."
Update at 12:45 a.m. ET: Heard on the local 11:00 pm news: The two teens arrested in Manchester are Mr. Akram’s sons. Separately, Mr. Akram is unsurprisingly starting to be described as a Pakistani-Brit. As for me, I wonder why a mentally unbalanced petty criminal who landed in New York City would go all the way to the wilds of Texas to attack a minor synagogue noted for its work with Moslems, alternative lifestyles, and other “good works”.

#13  (wfaa.com) DALLAS — The standoff had lasted more than 11 hours, and Charlie Cytron-Walker, the rabbi at Congregation Beth Israel, knew the situation wasn't improving.

Cytron-Walker and two other men were still being held hostage, as they had been most of the day Saturday, inside their synagogue in Colleyville. None of the hostages had been hurt.

But the suspect, Malik Faisal Akram, had a gun, and "he wasn't getting what he wanted," Cytron-Walker said Monday in an interview with CBS Morning News.

"It didn't look good," Cytron-Walker told the network. "It didn't sound good."

So, Cytron-Walker looked for an opening. When Akram "wasn't in a good position," Cytron-Walker made sure the other two hostages were ready.

Cytron-Walker then told them to flee, as he threw a chair toward Akram. The three hostages bolted for the door and escaped, a moment captured on video by WFAA.

Arabia
British-born terrorist divorces 4th husband, leaves Somalia for Yemen
[Garowe] A renowned British terrorist who is being sought by Interpol and various security agencies around the world has reportedly ditched her fourth husband and subsequently, moved to Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
after spending a couple of years in an unknown location in Somalia.

Samantha Lewthwaite
...who also used the fake South African identity of Natalie Faye Webb, converted to Islam at age 15, then worked her way bed by bed husband after husband up the Al Shabaab and Al Qaeda organizations. Though decidedly female, she reportedly was the key organizer of various jihadi plots in England and the Horn of Africa ...
alias the Black Widow, originally from Aylesbury in Buckinghamshire, is among the world's most wanted women. She is a mother of four according to security officials.

At 38, Samantha was previously linked to London's 7/7 bombing
...via first husband Germaine Lindsay, the British-Jamaican terrorist who carried out one of the deadly kabooms in London on July 7, 2005. Former Kenyan naval officer turned terrorist Abdi Wahid wore her wedding ring next, I think. Al Qaeda henchman Fahmi Jamal Salim, also known as Marco Costa, followed, fathering two of her children, then the one she just fled....
before fleeing to South Africa. Later, she crossed to Tanzania in 2011 and then Kenya, before Sherlocks tracked her to an al-Shabaab
...... the personification of Somali state failure...
stronghold in Somalia.

The infamous Black Widow was linked to a string of attacks across the world which may have resulted in the death of over 400 people. She's currently the most sought female terrorist around the world, The Daily Mirror reports.

Most recently, she spent seven years with her fourth husband, a Somalia warlord known as 'Sheikh Hassan',
... Hassan Maalim Ibrahim to his mother...
before splitting from him and fleeing to Yemen, reports The Mirror.

Police sources said she fled from a 'no-go' zone in Somalia where they have been hiding and is believed to have crossed over to Yemen. She is now believed to reside in a jihadi-sympathising stronghold in neighbouring Yemen, where she wears a full niqab and gloves to conceal her identity.

One security source told the Mirror: '[Lewthwaite] and Sheikh Hassan are no longer together — it is thought they are divorced. She had protection from his family in a no-go area in Somalia. 'But now she is not welcome and has gone back to al-Qaeda-controlled Yemen. She got there in a dhow sailing vessel.

But despite this latest development, there are no intelligence reports which are exclusively reporting about her whereabouts. Yemen has been in turmoil for several years and there is a possibility that she crossed over unnoticed.

Lewthwaite, originally of Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, was the wife of 7/7 bomber Germaine Lindsay and is thought to be behind scores of suicide kabooms across Africa and the Middle East.

Interpol issued a Red Notice warrant for her arrest after she was linked to the 2013 Westgate Mall attack in Kenya, which left five Britons and 66 other people dead and injured around 200 others.

London University graduate Lewthwaite reportedly altered her appearance through plastic surgery and piled on weight in a bid to remain unrecognised. She has pledged to raise all of her four children, who have three different fathers, as jihadists.

U of Michigan president fired after employee relationship, 'inappropriate' emails surface
[NYPOST] The University of Michigan fired its president Saturday for having a years-long affair with a subordinate, and sending "inappropriate" messages to her on his university email.

The university’s Board of Regents made the decision after receiving an anonymous complaint in December that Dr. Mark Schlissel has "been involved in an inappropriate relationship with a University employee," according to a blurb. A three-page termination letter that cited five emails he sent concluded his "interactions with the subordinate were inconsistent with promoting the dignity and reputation of the University of Michigan."

"After an investigation, we learned that Dr. Schlissel, over a period of years, used his University email account to communicate with that subordinate in a manner inconsistent with the dignity and reputation of the University," the board said Saturday night announcing the removal of the president.

Sudan arrests killer of police general
[SUDANTRIBUNE] Sudan’s Interior Ministry announced late Thursday the arrest of the killer of the Police Brig. Gen. Ali Praima Hammad, who was killed during the anti-coup protests. The killer confessed to killing the police general and wounding other coppers, said the police press office in a statement posted by the official news agency SUNA.

Earlier a police officer said that Praima had been stabbed to death in a knife attack.

The Head of the Sovereign Council Abdel Fattah al-Burhan and government officials offered condolences to the family of the dear departed police general.

For his part, the army front man Tahir Abu Haja said that attacks on the armed forces and other regular forces "target the national security and the unity of Sudan".

The situation requires a serious assessment. There is no middle ground between Heaven and Hell. So, Freedom has no value if its fruits are death, blood and destruction," he stressed.

The security forces recently intensified the crackdown on the anti-coup protests which now involves the regular army and their armoured vehicles.

Until now 64 protesters were killed by the security forces and hundreds were maimed.

Al-Muhandis was killed in 2020 in the US drone strike which targeted then IRGC Quds Force commander Qasem Soleimani in Baghdad. The visit by Qaani comes after a string of rocket and drone attacks targeting US advisers in Iraq and Syria in early January. At least some of the attacks were blamed on pro-Iranian militias.
