Israel-Palestine-Jordan
‘Massive failure’: First troops reached Kibbutz Nir Oz 40 minutes after last terrorists left
[IsraelTimes] IDF probe finds over 500 Palestinians invaded border kibbutz where 386 residents were present during Oct. 7 Hamas onslaught, as understaffed security team tried to fight with no backup

On the morning of October 7, 2023, over 500 Paleostinian snuffies swarmed into the unsuspecting Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
border community of Kibbutz Nir Oz. The army — plunged into complete disarray by the shock attack on dozens of towns and military posts simultaneously — entirely failed to come to the rescue, as the snuffies moved from home to home, brutalizing, massacring, and kidnapping dozens of civilians.

The first soldiers to arrive at Nir Oz on October 7 did so some 40 minutes after the last terrorist left.

On Friday, the Israel Defense Forces presented its probe into the attack on Nir Oz — among its detailed investigations of some 40 battles and massacres that took place during Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
’s October 7 onslaught, when some 5,600 snuffies stormed across the border, killed some 1,200 people, and took 251 hostages to Gaza.

The probe highlighted the heroism of Nir Oz’s local security team, whose few members fought on their own for about two hours before being killed or maimed, and the bravery of residents who did everything they could to protect themselves and their loved ones. It also highlighted the army’s colossal failures that allowed throngs of snuffies to overrun the kibbutz without seeing a single soldier.

The probe concluded that the IDF "failed in its mission to protect" the residents of Nir Oz, largely because the military had never prepared for such an event — an Israeli community being captured by terrorists, as well as a widescale attack on numerous towns and army bases simultaneously by thousands of terrorists.

Unlike other Israeli border communities attacked on October 7, the IDF did not fight any snuffies in Nir Oz, a community of around 420 residents, 386 of whom were there during the onslaught.

In all, 47 people, including 41 residents and six partygoers fleeing a nearby rave, were killed in the kibbutz during the onslaught. Another 76 were kidnapped by the snuffies — 67 alive and nine who were killed that day, either in Nir Oz, en route to Gaza, or in the Strip itself.

Of the 67 living hostages, 13 were killed in the Gaza Strip during the war. Currently, five hostages presumed alive and the bodies of nine captives remain held in Gaza, after 49 were released and the bodies of 13 were returned to Israel.

The total number of dead from Nir Oz, including those killed in captivity, stands at 69.

The hostages and dead included multiple generations of families, some of whom were killed or kidnapped by different terror organizations.

The snuffies entered all but six homes in the community of around 100 houses, causing heavy damage. The surviving members of the community are now living in the Karmei Gat neighborhood of Kiryat Gat, as Nir Oz undergoes a long reconstruction process.

Presenting the results of the probe to members of the kibbutz on Thursday, former IDF chief of staff Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi said he "heard the harshest statement about October 7 from one of your members.

"I say it in every conversation I have with commanders, so that everyone in the IDF will remember it — that the first soldier arrived at Nir Oz after the last terrorist had left," Halevi said, in audio of the meeting broadcast on Channel 12 news. "This is a terrible and damning statement, and we repeat it so that it will be etched into the consciousness of the IDF."

The probe into what happened at Nir Oz, carried out by Maj. Gen. Eran Niv — the former chief of the Computer Service Directorate — covers all aspects of the attack on the kibbutz on October 7.

Niv and his team spent hundreds of hours investigating the onslaught at Nir Oz. The IDF said they reviewed every possible source of information — footage taken by snuffies with body-mounted cameras, residents’ WhatsApp messages, surveillance videos, and interviews with survivors, former hostages, and those who fought to defend the kibbutz — and made visits to the scene.

The Nir Oz probe was aimed at drawing specific operational conclusions for the military. It did not examine the wider picture of the military’s perception of Gaza and Hamas in recent years, which was covered in separate, larger, investigations into the IDF’s intelligence and defenses.

The army is also not looking at policies set by the politicianship. That way, it avoids conflict with government leaders who have insisted such investigations must wait until after the war against Hamas ends.

WHY DID SO MANY PALESTINIAN TERRORISTS REACH NIR OZ?
The investigation found that an unusually large number of snuffies invaded Nir Oz, compared to other communities attacked on October 7. The probe stated that calls by then-Hamas military commander Mohammed Deif at 8 a.m. on Paleostinians to invade Israeli communities led to numerous snuffies joining in the onslaught.

This was exacerbated in the Nir Oz area due to the lack of IDF troops defending the area, giving the snuffies a sense of freedom, and because of footage circulating online of an Israeli tank that was disabled on the border and its crew kidnapped. The tank became a sort of attraction for Paleostinians during the onslaught, with hundreds from the Hamas stronghold of Khuza’a reaching the area, many of whom would continue into Israel and reach Nir Oz.

Of the over 500 snuffies who invaded Nir Oz, the investigation team was only able to find the body of one in the kibbutz. Hamas snuffies likely picked up the bodies of several of their comrades killed by armed civilians during the onslaught.

Outside the kibbutz, on a road leading to Gaza, the bodies of 64 snuffies were found. Those bad boyz were potted by Israeli Air Force helicopters and an IDF tank.

WHY DID THE IDF FAIL TO STOP THE TERRORISTS FROM INVADING NIR OZ?
The investigation team stated that "the forces were not prepared, did not prepare or practice scenarios that occurred on October 7," and that they were not given any alert that morning. "Already at the beginning of the fighting, many of the commanders were maimed in the area, and the chain of command collapsed," the team said.

Niv’s team also stated that the IDF was unable to build an accurate picture of what was happening in the entire area, including in Nir Oz. "The troops fought throughout the area, including along the fence and their posts, and failed to hold an assessment," the probe said, adding that at no point did troops speak with anyone in Nir Oz during the attack to understand what was happening there.

The probe found that the troops "fought fiercely" in the area, without stopping for a moment even when the chain of command collapsed and many of them were maimed, successfully defending other communities, but they did not reach them all, including Nir Oz.

The investigation stated that "if there had been an alert, even if it was very short notice, there is no doubt that the harm could have been reduced."

According to the probe, the IDF could have done more to contact officials in Nir Oz and understand what was happening there.

Additionally, the probe noted that soldiers failed to defend a nearby army base next to Nir Oz, whose troops would have been able to defend the kibbutz if their base was not overrun. The investigation also stated that it was an error for tank forces to head to the Gaza border amid the onslaught, and instead, they should have stayed closer to the communities to defend them.

The understaffed local security team "fought bravely" for some two hours until it was defeated, the probe said, adding that within the context of October 7 and "without the assistance of military forces, even a larger local security team had no chance against such a large enemy force."

WHY DID IDF TROOPS NOT REACH NIR OZ IN TIME?
According to the investigation, Hamas’s simultaneous and widescale attack on dozens of communities and Israeli army bases on October 7 made it difficult for the IDF, on all levels — from the regional brigade to the chief of staff — to build an accurate picture of what was happening, especially with how serious the situation was in each community.

Backup forces who were arriving at the Gaza border area from the north, including those who arrived at their own initiative, mostly got stuck fighting in the city of Sderot. Others who managed to push further south down Route 232 either got caught up fighting in other communities or were ambushed by snuffies at major junctions. Similarly, troops arriving from the south were also attacked and delayed at the junctions, resulting in the first troops reaching Nir Oz only after 1 p.m.

Few troops were explicitly instructed to head for Nir Oz, and those who were got stuck fighting on the way.

By the time a special forces team managed to push through the Ma’on Junction near the community, at around 11:45 a.m., it was far too late. Their commander was maimed, and they were also instructed to reach another community.

The investigation found that there was real-time information that could have been used by IDF commanders to understand the grave situation in Nir Oz, though nothing was done with it. This included an IDF surveillance camera showing dozens of snuffies walking to and from Nir Oz — which was being viewed live at an IDF command center — and information from Israeli Air Force helicopters flying over the area.

The investigation team stated that this live information indicated that there were snuffies in Nir Oz, carrying out massacres and abductions, but "such information was being received from numerous other places, and it was not possible to understand from this information that Nir Oz was in a more grave situation than other communities."

"Residents of Nir Oz called for help time and time again, but their reports and calls were lost, within the chaos of thousands of messages and reports," the probe said.

If the IDF had taken action on the information and prioritized Nir Oz, "it is presumed that troops would have arrived earlier and succeeded in minimizing the harm to the kibbutz and its residents," the team said.

CONCLUSIONS
The investigation team concluded that the IDF "failed to protect Nir Oz" and the failure was "particularly massive, partly because IDF troops were only able to reach the community after the last title='terrorists '>snuffies had already left. In fact, the snuffies carried out their atrocities in the kibbutz almost uninterrupted."

The IDF’s failure to defend Nir Oz was not a tactical or moral failure, the probe stated, but rather a "systemic failure."

"The forces did not fail to navigate to the kibbutz, and did not delay out of fear, nor did they choose not to fight; The failure of this incident was that the [IDF’s] command did not understand that the situation in Nir Oz was particularly grave, and that massacres and abductions were taking place there on a large scale, and therefore, did not prioritize sending forces to Nir Oz over other places," the investigation team said.

The team said that there were other communities where the situation was very grave, and some where troops did not arrive on time, "but there was no other town with such a deadly combination of such a grave situation on the one hand and the absence of a military force in the community on the other."

"That’s what happened to Nir Oz," it added.

RECOMMENDATIONS
The investigation team recommended establishing a new IDF post between Nir Oz and the Gaza Strip, as well as strengthening the local security team.

It also recommended establishing a new mechanism in the IDF for building an intelligence picture when the chain of command has collapsed amid fighting, as well as other tactical changes to the military.

THE TIMELINE OF THE ATTACK
Before the onslaught, the Golani Infantry Brigade’s 51st Battalion was deployed to the Nir Oz area, including at a base near Kissufim, a post near Nirim, and another camp next to an agricultural research and development center south of Nir Oz known as Mopdarom. Additionally, two tanks of the 7th Armored Brigade’s 77th Battalion and a Namer armored personnel carrier were stationed at another small post near Nir Oz, known as the White House.

In all, there were 182 combat soldiers and 57 combat support troops stationed in the area, protecting the southern Gaza border area, including Nir Oz and several nearby communities.

At 5:33 a.m. on October 7, the troops took their stations along the Gaza border in a shift change. The Hamas onslaught began an hour later.

Amid an initial barrage of around 1,000 rockets — which began at 6:29 a.m. — largely aimed at Israeli military posts, Hamas snuffies broke through 114 locations along Israel’s border barrier.

Six of the breaches were in the Nir Oz area, through which at 6:36 a.m. 100-130 members of Hamas’s elite Nukhba Force streamed into Israel — on pickup trucks, cycle of violences, and on foot — and headed for the kibbutz. Another 200-400 other terrorists, including members of Hamas, Paleostinian Islamic Jihad
...created after many members of the Egyptian Moslem Brotherhood decided the organization was becoming too moderate. Operations were conducted out of Egypt until 1981 when the group was exiled after the assassination of President Anwar Sadat. They worked out of Gaza until they were exiled to Lebanon in 1987, where they clove tightly to Hezbollah. In 1989 they moved to Damascus, where they remain a subsidiary of Hezbollah...
, Mujahideen Brigades, and unaffiliated Paleostinians, arrived later.

As the rockets were flying and Hamas snuffies were spotted approaching the border, the two tanks and APC stationed at the White House post advanced toward the Gaza border, under the assumption that they could stop the invasion.

One tank positioned itself south of Nir Oz, and the second north of the kibbutz. The APC was positioned between the two.

The tank in the south was quickly attacked by Hamas snuffies with RPG fire and bombs. The crew of four — tank commander Cpt. Omer Maxim Neutra, driver Sgt. Shaked Dahan, gunner Sgt. Nimrod Cohen, and loader Sgt. Oz Daniel — was then kidnapped to Gaza.

Infamous footage from the attack showed Paleostinians in civilian clothing standing on and around their tank while it was wreathed in smoke and flames, and the soldiers being dragged out by Hamas terrorists.

Neutra’s death was confirmed in December 2024, Daniel’s death was announced in February 2024, and Dahan’s death was confirmed in November 2023. All three were killed on October 7, 2023, according to the IDF. Cohen is believed to be still alive in captivity.

At 6:38 a.m., the Hamas terrorists, using sniper rifles, took out Israeli military surveillance cameras on the border near Nir Oz. Only one camera, located further away from the border, next to the kibbutz, remained operating.

Col. Asaf Hamami, the commander of the Gaza Division’s Southern Brigade, at 6:42 a.m. alerted the civilian local security teams in the communities in his area, and announced over the radio: "We are at war." Minutes later, Hamami and his team exchanged fire with snuffies in the adjacent community of Nirim, where he was killed and his body kidnapped to Gaza.

At 6:49 a.m., a car with two partygoers who had fled from the Psyduck music festival entered Nir Oz through its main gate. They evaded the first two Hamas snuffies who arrived at Nir Oz 10 seconds later and infiltrated the community.

At 6:52 a.m., a member of Nir Oz’s security team exchanged fire with the first terrorists, as other members tried to assist. Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy had come up with a new idea, one that didn't involve kerosene...
at 6:55 a.m., another vehicle with fleeing partygoers from Psyduck came under terrorist fire at the entrance to Nir Oz. Two were killed.

At 6:57 a.m., Hamas snuffies killed Bracha Levinson, 74, in her home, while live streaming the murder on her own Facebook page, which was seen by her family. This was the first killing to take place inside Nir Oz.

At the same time, Hamas snuffies captured the Mopdarom base, located south of Nir Oz, killing five and wounding 17. The other troops were holed up amid the massive rocket fire.

Also at this point, the IDF’s command and control in the southern Gaza area had entirely fallen apart, with the brigade commander killed, several platoon commanders killed or seriously maimed, and one kidnapped.

At 7:06 a.m., Cpt. Omer Wolf, a deputy company commander in the 51st Battalion, called on troops to defend closer to border communities, rather than the border fence, amid the massive invasion. He was killed along with two of his soldiers near the White House post later in the morning, while successfully delaying Hamas’s invasion into Nirim by several hours.
.
Between 7:11 and 7:18 a.m., another two vehicles fleeing from the Psyduck festival arrived at the entrance to Nir Oz. Hamas snuffies waiting at the entrance murdered the partygoers.

Terrorists at 7:27 a.m. entered the kibbutz through a southern entrance, heading for the foreign workers’ residences. Twelve Thai and Tanzanian workers were murdered, and five foreign nationals were kidnapped from there.

The snuffies continued their onslaught through the kibbutz, murdering residents in their homes and setting the buildings on fire. The first kidnappings began at around 8:30 a.m.

Some members of the seven-strong local security team and other armed civilians fought back from their homes, while three — Tamir Adar, Aviv Atzili, and Dolev Yehud — and other armed civilians confronted the snuffies together outside.

All three were killed following a two-hour battle, ending at around 9 a.m. According to the investigation, they managed to delay the snuffies during that time, but the IDF never showed up to provide backup.

Once the local security team was defeated, the kidnappings continued and ramped up.

An IAF helicopter arrived at the kibbutz at 9:22 a.m. and began to carry out strikes on a route leading from the Gaza fence to Nir Oz, after identifying some 60 snuffies there. The chopper came under fire from the snuffies and was forced to make an emergency landing at the Hatzerim Airbase.

At 9:55 a.m., the second tank that headed for the Gaza border in the morning arrived at the entrance to Nir Oz. One of the four crew was seriously maimed and evacuated by the APC, while another member was maimed inside the tank.

At 9:57 a.m. the tank fired two shells at snuffies at the entrance to Nir Oz, though it remains unclear if any were hit, as no bodies were found there. Hamas may have taken the bodies back to Gaza, according to the probe.

At 10 a.m., another IAF helicopter arrived near Nir Oz and began to open fire on snuffies along the route heading to the kibbutz from Gaza. A short while later it received orders to head to the Gaza Division base near Re’im, which was also overrun by terrorists.

At 10:06 a.m., the tank that arrived at the entrance to Nir Oz received an order to leave the area and help prevent a suspected kidnapping of troops elsewhere. The tank did not enter Nir Oz but did end up killing numerous snuffies near the border fence.

At 10:22 a.m., the IAF chopper returned from the Re’im base and continued strikes against snuffies on the road leading from Gaza. The IDF tank also reached this area, attempting to run over the crowd of terrorists.

By 10:30 a.m., the Hamas Nukhba snuffies were returning to the Strip after being instructed by their commanders in Gaza. The other snuffies joined them and also began to leave at this time.

As the tank arrived at the route outside the kibbutz, Batsheva Yahalomi, who was kidnapped from Nir Oz along with her children, managed to escape. Yahalomi, 10-year-old Yael, and almost two-year-old toddler sat on one moped with a terrorist, while 12-year-old Eitan and a foreign worker sat on the other moped with another gunman.

The two mopeds veered away from one another as the snuffies saw the tank, and Yahalomi lost track of Eitan on the other moped. Yahalomi and her two daughters were able to run away, hiding for a short period. Two unarmed snuffies found them and tried to convince them to come into Gaza, but didn’t violent mostly peacefully attack them. Eventually, she returned to the kibbutz.

Eitan Yahalomi was released under a hostage-ceasefire deal in late November 2023. His father Ohad Yahalomi was taken hostage separately from the rest of the family and murdered in captivity. His body was returned under another deal in late February 2025.

In another incident at 11:30 a.m., the IAF helicopter opened fire against a car with several snuffies in it on the road leading to Gaza. It was later revealed, based on eyewitnesses, videos from the helicopter, and surveillance camera footage, that the vehicle also had Israeli hostages in it.

The gunfire killed several of the terrorists, along with Efrat Katz, a resident kidnapped from Nir Oz with her daughter and granddaughters. The others were maimed in the incident.

At 12:20 p.m., the IAF helicopter carried out a strike against six snuffies outside the kibbutz.

The final footage capturing a terrorist in Nir Oz is timestamped at 12:30 p.m.

Members of Border Police’s Yamas covert tactical unit arrived at Nir Oz at 1:10 p.m., and members of the IDF’s Egoz commando unit arrived at 1:47 p.m. Troops of the Navy’s Shayetet 13 commando unit arrived at 2:50 p.m.

The troops began searches in the community, escorting residents out. There was no fighting, as all the snuffies had already left.

[ShabelleMedia] Somali National Army (SNA) forces and allied Macawiisley militias are conducting military operations against al-Shabaab
... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord...
in the Middle Shabelle region, security sources said on Sunday.

The mobilization follows heavy festivities on Saturday between government forces, local fighters, and al-Shabaab Lions of Islam in several villages near the coastal town of Cadale. Military officials confirmed that both sides suffered significant casualties.

The operations include targeted Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
s on al-Shabaab positions, while armored military vehicles and additional troops have been deployed to strategic areas to drive the group from its remaining strongholds.

Somali Land Forces Commander General Sahal has urged troops and allied militias to intensify their offensive, describing the fight against al-Shabaab as a just war.

Saturday’s battles took place in villages including Laba Garas, Bursha Shiiq, and Sumadaale, all located near Cadale district.

Al-Shabaab, an al-Qaeda-linked armed group, has waged an insurgency against Somalia’s central government for over a decade. Somali forces, supported by international partners, have been engaged in a large-scale campaign to push the Lions of Islam out of rural strongholds.

[KhaamaPress] The British police have arrested two men on suspicion of attacking Natiq Malikzada, an activist and opponent of the current regime in Afghanistan.

Malikzada, a 29-year-old Afghan refugee and an outspoken critic of extremism, was attacked in his room at a refugee hotel on February 13. He sustained injuries to his hand, shoulder, and chest during the assault.

Hampshire police issued a statement saying that two men, aged 25 and 29, have been arrested in connection with the incident.

Malikzada, who came to the UK in September 2023 on a scholarship for a training course by the British Foreign Office, had a student visa. After completing his course in October 2024, he applied for asylum in the UK and stayed in the International Paters Hotel in Aldershot for more than two months.

The activist had previously warned about the Taliban
...Arabic for students...
’s influence in the UK. He had reported seeing Afghan refugees in the hotel who openly supported the Taliban.

Malikzada claims to have had arguments with pro-Taliban refugees in the hotel regarding women’s rights and the campaign to boycott Afghanistan’s cricket team.

The attack on Malikzada comes amid previous threats by some Taliban officials, who had warned opponents of the group living abroad. This incident has raised concerns about the safety of activists who oppose the Taliban and their supporters in exile.

The arrest of the two suspects marks an important step in addressing the rising tensions and threats faced by Afghan refugees who are critical of the Taliban. It also highlights the ongoing challenges faced by refugee communities, particularly those affected by the Taliban’s reach.

Somali Government Forces Repel Al-Shabaab Attacks On Their Bases
[ShabelleMedia] Somali government forces, supported by local militias, successfully repelled attacks by the Islamist Death Eater group al-Shabaab
... an Islamic infestation centering on Somalia attempting to metastasize into Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and similar places, all ofwhich have enough problems without them...
early this morning in Awdheegle, located in the Lower Shabelle region. Military activity has been reported in the area as fighting continued for several hours.

In a separate incident, al-Shabaab launched another assault in the Buursha Sheekh area of the Middle Shabelle region, resulting in direct combat that lasted for hours. Eventually, the Somali forces were able to push back the Death Eaters.

Meanwhile,
...back at the shootout, Butch shot Black Bart's gun out of his hand......
government forces conducted an operation in the Laba-Garas area of the Middle Shabelle region, where several al-Shabaab fighters were killed, according to state media reports. The Somali military has reinforced its presence in the region to enhance security and stability.

The recent festivities and operations have highlighted the intensifying battle against al-Shabaab in the Lower and Middle Shabelle regions.

Al-Shabaab launches coordinated attacks in Somalia

[Garowe] Al-Shabaab militants carried out coordinated attacks in the country, on Saturday, officials said, noting that the group was targeting government officers and innocent civilians as it tried to seize more territories.

The militants were targeting government installations and the Somali National Army in Awdheegle, in the Lower Shabelle region, officials said, adding that heavy clashes ensued thereafter, leading to massive casualties.

The attack resulted in a heavy clash, with explosions accompanying the fighting, residents said, while acknowledging the intensity of the clashes which comes at the time the Somali National Army is pursuing the militants in the country.

Both sides involved in the confrontation are reported to have suffered casualties, including deaths and injuries, reflecting the instability in the volatile region, officials said. This was the second attack launched by the group this morning on two areas near the capital city.

Earlier, the al-Shabaab militants launched a pre-dawn attack Saturday on the Hawo Abdi area, located about 20 kilometers (12 miles) west of Mogadishu, engaging in a heavy battle with government forces, according to residents.

With the help of the African Union Support and Stabilization Mission in Somalia along with the US Africa Command, the Somali National Army has managed to liberate several strategic towns across the country from the group.

President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud recently extended the amnesty for the members of the group who are willing to withdraw. The president said his administration was ready to recent those ready to defect from the notorious group.

Al-Shabaab group is fighting to topple the fragile UN-backed federal government of Somalia which has struggled to install stability for the last three decades. The al-Shabaab however, has lost large swathes of rural central and southern regions.

Somali forces conduct security operation outside the capital
[ShabelleMedia] Somali security forces, including intelligence and police units, carried out a security operation overnight in Elasha Biyaha, a town on the southern outskirts of Mogadishu, officials said Sunday.

Senior officers leading the operation inspected businesses near the main road and urged residents to cooperate with security forces operating in the area.

The security deployment came after reports emerged earlier in the evening suggesting that Al-Shabaab militants had entered Elasha Biyaha, though no incidents of violence were reported.

The presence of the militant group in the area highlights ongoing security vulnerabilities. On Saturday, Al-Shabaab launched multiple attacks in the Lower Shabelle region, targeting the towns of Xaawo Cabdi and Awdheegle, where heavy fighting resulted in casualties.

The militant group has intensified its attacks during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan, aiming to reclaim lost territory and increase pressure on Mogadishu, where the Somali government is based.

Al-Shabaab Attacks Village Outside Somali Capital Saturday

[ShabelleMedia] The security situation in the Xaawo Cabdi area near the capital of Somalia has rapidly deteriorated following an attack by the militant group Al-Shabaab this morning, causing significant casualties.

The brief but intense conflict began with explosions, followed by direct clashes between Al-Shabaab fighters and Somali forces, resulting in various injuries and damages.

Eyewitnesses told Shabelle Media Network that the militants entered Xaawo Cabdi, a region located between Lafoole and Ceelasha Biyaha in the Lower Shabelle region.

In response, the Somali government deployed helicopters to carry out airstrikes against the Al-Shabaab fighters in the area.

Al-Shabaab has recently increased its attacks in the Middle Shabelle region, shifting its focus to the Lower Shabelle, escalating violence in the region.

Earlier today, Al-Shabaab also carried out a suicide bombing targeting the Somali National Army’s headquarters in Awdheegle District.

The exact number of casualties from the bombing remains unclear, and officials are awaiting further updates from the Somali government.

The Grand Turk
Turkey demands PKK surrender weapons
[Rudaw] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s defense minister on Saturday demanded the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) surrender its weapons after the group said it was committed to its founder’s call to disband, but the PKK leadership said a one-sided ceasefire is not enough.

"The terrorist organization PKK and all its extensions operating in different geographies and under different names - regardless of where they are located - must make the decision to terminate immediately and surrender their weapons immediately and unconditionally. There is and will be no response to any statement or action to the contrary," Yasar Guler, the Ottoman Turkish defense minister, said in a ceremony honouring slain soldiers.

In February, incarcerated
Youse'll never take me alive coppers!... [BANG!]... Ow!... I quit!
PKK leader Abdullah Ocalan called on the group he founded to lay down arms and dissolve itself after more than four decades of war with Turkey. His statement was issued amid renewed peace efforts to end a conflict that broke out in 1984, has spilled over international borders, and claimed the lives of tens of thousands of people.

The PKK said it accepted Ocalan’s call for peace and declared a unilateral ceasefire, but on Saturday it accused Turkey of continuing to carry out attacks.

"We see the ceasefire we declared as an important practical step and as a way to put Leader Abdullah Ocalan's historic call into practice. Of course, it is not possible to take such practical steps by unilaterally ceasing fire; in order to take practical steps, all weapons must be silenced," read a statement from the PKK’s Executive Committee.

"The military attacks of the Ottoman Turkish army have partially decreased compared to the previous process, there have been a total of 73 aircraft attacks, 4175 artillery and howitzer fires, and 8 uses of prohibited weapons during the two-week unilateral ceasefire period," the PKK statement added.

Pervin Buldan, a politician from the Peoples' Equality and Democracy Party (DEM Party) that is mediating the peace talks, said in an interview with Ottoman Turkish Haber Medya that they will meet with President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. Iraq
Wife of ISIS second-in-command captured, details of Number 2’s killing
She’ll either be utterly domestic in the Kinder, Küche, Kirche way, or she be one of those domineering, organizing women who strides through the streets at the head of the women’s branch of the Morals Police, baton firmly in hand for whipping women whose ankles show — taking full advantage of her rank as Mrs. Number 2.
[Rudaw] The wife of the Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
’s (ISIS) second-in-command was captured in the same operation that killed her husband, the United States military said on Saturday.

"U.S. Central Command commends Iraqi Intelligence and Security forces on the successful operation leading to the capture and arrest of Chechen ISIS terrorist Umm Hussein, the wife of ISIS leader Abu Khadija, who was killed in a strike on March 13," read a statement from CENTCOM, the US military command in the Middle East.

Abu Khadija, whose full name is Abdullah Makki Muslih al-Rafiei, was killed in an operation in Anbar province carried out by Iraqi and American forces with Kurdish assistance.

CENTCOM said that two other ISIS members were captured in the operation and called it a testament to Iraq’s commitment to dismantling ISIS networks.

"CENTCOM, with our partners and allies, remain steadfast in our efforts to eliminate ISIS and prevent its resurgence," the statement said.

Rafiei was killed "after several years of investigation and relying on information from the Kurdistan Region Security Council, in coordination with the coalition and later with Iraqi federal forces," the Kurdistan Region Security Council said on Friday.

The United States in 2023 named Rafiei a Specially Designated Global Terrorist as an ISIS leader.
More from Rudaw on the killing of Mr. Number 2:
Abdullah Makki Muslih al-Rafiei, also known as Abu Khadija, was killed by a United States Arclight airstrike
...KABOOM!...
in Anbar province. He was chief of global operations and emir of a top ISIS committee.

"As the Emir of ISIS’ most senior decision-making body, Abu Khadijah maintained responsibility for operations, logistics, and planning conducted by ISIS globally, and directs a significant portion of finance for the group’s global organization," the US military’s Central Command (CENTCOM) said in a statement.

Rafiei was a target for more than two years "and in the past six months, the noose has tightened around this terrorist," the Iraqi military’s Joint Operations Command said in a statement.

Intelligence about him was gathered during operations in the Anbar desert, raids of ISIS hideouts across the country, and from a person close to Rafiei who was captured by the Kurdistan Region Security Council and handed over to Iraqi forces.

His location was determined and he was killed at 6:30 Friday evening in a "successful airstrike in the Anbar desert," the Joint Operations Command said.

Video released by CENTCOM shows the moment of the airstrike on a moving vehicle.

Iraqi and American forces moved into the site of the airstrike and found the bodies of Rafiei and a second ISIS member, both wearing unwent kaboom! boom jackets and in possession of weapons, according to CENTCOM.

Iraqi forces said they also arrested seven ISIS suspects, including two women, accused of providing Rafiei with supplies. Based on intelligence gathered at the scene, five other wanted individuals were arrested in Erbil.

Rafiei was identified by matching his DNA with a sample collected from an earlier raid when he had escaped, CENTCOM said.

IDF says troops downed drone being used to smuggle AK-47 from Egypt
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it foiled an attempt to smuggle an assault rifle into Israel from Egypt earlier today, using a drone.

The drone had been identified crossing the border from Egypt into Israel, before it was downed by troops of the Border Defense Corps’ Caracal Battalion.

Troops at the scene found that the drone was an AK-47 type rifle.

In recent months there have been frequent attempts to bring weapons and drugs over the Egypt border using drones. There have also been attempts to smuggle similar contraband from Israel into Gaza using drones.

‘Hamas never stopped digging’: Ex-hostage warns tunnel network under Gaza still growing
[IsraelTimes] In first interview since release, Tal Shoham recalls refusing to kneel to his terrorist captors, says he became severely malnourished after receiving just 300 calories a day

Recently released hostage Tal Shoham warned in an interview aired Saturday that the Hamas
..a contraction of the Arabic words for "frothing at the mouth",...
terror group has continued to expand its vast underground tunnel network in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
unabated, despite the long months of war with Israel inside the Paleostinian enclave.

Shoham was returned to Israel on February 22, after having been kidnapped from Kibbutz Be’eri on October 7, 2023 while visiting his wife’s parents.

His wife Adi was also taken hostage, along with their two children Yahel, then 3, and Naveh, 8. The three were released during the weeklong truce in November 2023.

He opened up about his 505 days in Hamas captivity, starting from the moment of the abduction itself, in an interview with Fox News, aired on Saturday evening.

He told the news outlet that he didn’t initially know what had become of his wife and children, as he had been taken hostage separately after he stepped outside to surrender, hoping it would spare the lives of his loved ones.

Recalling the experience, Shoham said that as he stepped outside to surrender, he was met with "about 40 armed terrorists," some of whom were filming him while others laughed.

He recalled being driven into Gaza and hauled out of the trunk of the car he was transported in, at which point his captors told him to kneel. He refused.

"I said ’I can’t control whether you kill me or not,’ and I raised by hands — but I refused to kneel’," he told Fox, adding that he told his captors: "If you want to kill me, kill me, but you will not execute me like ISIS."

After refusing to kneel, Shoham said he was marched through the streets of Gaza to the jeers of watching crowds.

"I just waved and smiled," he recalled. "I didn’t show fear."

As he was taken hostage ahead of his family, Shoham said he spent his first 50 days in captivity not knowing whether his wife and children were alive or dead.

"Never in my life have I experienced suffering like this," he said of the uncertainty, which was compounded by the intense loneliness he felt, as he was at that point, being held alone. To survive, Shoham said he had to "accept that my family was dead."

"I sat on the floor and imagined myself at their funeral. I stood in front of a grave — one large for my wife, and two small for my children — and I eulogized each of them," he recalled. "I sobbed but didn’t let my captors see me cry. That was the hardest thing I’ve ever done, burying my family in my mind."

On his 50th day in captivity, however, Shoham received a letter from his wife informing him that she and their two children were alive, and being released from captivity.

Knowing that his family was safe was the "most important thing," Shoham says. "I didn’t need to be a father and husband protecting them anymore. Now, I could focus on my war, the one I knew how to fight, the one for survival."

After 34 days alone in captivity, Shoham’s captors brought two other hostages — Evyatar David and Guy Gilboa Dalal — to the house he was being held in. The three remained there until June 2024, when they were transferred to an underground tunnel, joining Omer Wenkert there. He remained there until his release.

Shoham said that while in that tunnel =he was guarded by captors who were responsible for digging the tunnels that make up Hamas’s vast underground network in the Paleostinian enclave.

The terror operatives would dig constantly, said Shoham. "Hamas never stopped digging tunnels. not for a single day."

While the exact length and breadth of Hamas’s tunnel network is unclear, a January 2024 New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

report based on the estimates of Israeli defense officials placed it at around 350 to 450 miles long.

At the time, the defense officials said there were roughly 5,700 separate shafts leading down to the tunnels.

In July 2024, it was reported that, despite the long months of fighting in the Gaza Strip, the tunnel network was still in a "good functional state," as even many of the areas targeted by the IDF had been fixed.

Shoham, like many other released hostages, recounted that food was scarce throughout his captivity.

When he was first captured, he was held in the home of a Gazook family, where for the first three days he received pita bread.

Then, he said, "food supplies dwindled."

After that, he would receive as little as "three spoons of avocado and three dates" per day, "or half an orange from a tree in the yard."

He estimated that at that stage, he was getting just 300 calories a day — a fraction of the roughly 2,400 calories a man his age is supposed to receive.

After moving him to the tunnel with three other hostages, Shoham’s captors would give him some 300 milliliters of water a day — for both drinking and washing — and plain rice.

The diet left him severely malnourished, he told Fox, and after months in which he was getting progressively more unwell, his captors finally brought a doctor to see him. By that point, he said, he had already developed a severe infection, and had internal bleeding in his legs.

"My legs turned blue, yellow, and purple with internal bleeding," he said. The doctor gave him and the other hostages blood thinners to prevent clots, as well as seven days’ worth of vitamin supplements to combat the malnutrition.

"It tasted like dog food, but it dramatically improved our condition," he said.

Despite the supplements, Shoham was severely underweight upon his release from Gaza.

Shoham and Wenkert were released from captivity on February 22, while David and Gilboa Dalal were kept behind, and are among the 59 remaining hostages in Gaza.

Gaza terror groups are still holding 58 of the 251 kidnapped by Hamas-led turbans on October 7, 2023. They include the bodies of at least 35 confirmed dead by the IDF.

Fifth Column
US Justice Department probing whether Columbia University hid ‘illegal alien’ students
Follow-up to this story from yesterday.
[IsraelTimes] Investigation comes as Trump administration intensifies campaign to deport foreigners who took part in anti-Israel protests

The US Justice Department is investigating whether Columbia University concealed "illegal aliens" on its campus, one of its brass hats said Friday, as the Trump administration intensified its campaign to deport foreigners who participated in anti-Israel and pro-Paleostinian demonstrations at the school last year.

Agents with the Department of Homeland Security searched two university residences with a warrant Thursday evening. No one was arrested, and it was unclear whom the authorities were searching for. But by Friday afternoon, US officials had announced developments related to two people they had pursued in connection with the demonstrations.

A Columbia doctoral student from India whose visa was revoked by the Trump administration fled the US on an airliner. And a Paleostinian woman who had been arrested during the protests at the university last April was arrested by federal immigration authorities in Newark, New Jersey, on charges that she overstayed an expired visa.

Deputy Attorney General Todd Blanche, speaking at the Justice Department, said it was all part of the president’s "mission to end antisemitism in this country."
Moving the Overton Window: blasting reports that those involved in the protests are being scrutinized by the feds will drive some to leave the country to avoid trouble, and will drive others to stop misbehaving, even before additional bad actors are caught.
"Just last night, we worked with the Department of Homeland Security to execute search warrants from an investigation into Columbia University for harboring and concealing illegal aliens on its campus," Blanche said. "That investigation is ongoing, and we are also looking at whether Columbia’s handling of earlier incidents violated civil rights laws and included terrorism crimes."

Blanche didn’t say what evidence agents had of wrongdoing by the university. It was unclear whether he was accusing the school itself of "terrorism crimes" or saying that people involved in the protests had committed such crimes.
Protesters most definitely have, and the university has been passive-aggressively complicit, thrilled to relive their youth via proximity to the romance of Seventies-style protests.
The News Agency that Dare Not be Named left messages seeking comment from the university about Blanche’s accusations Friday.

In a note to the school community following the searches Thursday night, interim university president Katrina Armstrong said Columbia was "committed to upholding the law."
Uh huh.
She described herself as "heartbroken" that federal agents had been on campus searching student rooms.

"I understand the immense stress our community is under," Armstrong wrote. "Despite the unprecedented challenges, Columbia University will remain a place where the pursuit of knowledge is cherished and fiercely protected,
Oh? What do you know, Madam President, about the history of the Jews in the Common Era and the history of the 20th century Levant?
where the rule of law and due process is respected and never taken for granted, and where all members of our community are valued and able to thrive."

Columbia has come under immense pressure from the Trump administration in recent weeks, with the US government canceling $400 million in federal grants and contracts to the school, much of it for medical research, as punishment for not cracking down harder on students and faculty who took part in anti-Israel activities last spring in protest of the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks.
President Donald Trump
...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
and other officials have accused the protesters as being "pro-Hamas
..a regional Iranian catspaw,...
," as the war in Gaza was sparked by the Hamas-led assault on southern Israel on October 7, 2023, in which some 1,200 people were killed and 251 were taken hostage.

The administration threatened to permanently end federal funding to the Ivy League school unless it took a variety of steps, including changing its admissions process and ceding faculty control of its Middle Eastern, South Asian, and African Studies Department to a receiver for five years.

It also demanded that the school ban people from wearing masks on campus, change how it recruits international students, adopt a new definition of antisemitism, and abolish its student disciplinary process.

Students and faculty who participated in last year’s protests at Columbia have insisted that criticizing Israel and advocating for Paleostinian rights isn’t antisemitic.
True. Even hating Israel and Jews is not necessarily antisemitic. It becomes antisemitism when Jews and/or Israel are held to a separate standard and blamed for all the problems and actions done by others, and when all Jews are accused of things only some have done — like assuming that all Irishmen are drunks or all Hispanics are illegal, drug-dealing gangsters.
Some Jewish students and faculty, though, said that the rhetoric made them feel unsafe and often veered into outright antisemitism.
The protesting crowds and individual classmates and instructors threatened them, physically attacked them, prevented them from going to class, drove them out of class and university buildings, attacked them in the streets and in the dorms… all for the crime of being Israeli or Jewish, being associated with Israelis or Jews, or being Israel-curious. In some cases, Israeli Arabs have been attacked for the same reason. How should they have felt?
Columbia University’s campus has been in crisis since the arrest Saturday of Mahmoud Khalil, a Paleostinian activist who helped lead last spring’s protests.
Good. They worked hard to earn it.
The Trump administration said Friday it had revoked the visa of Ranjani Srinivasan, an Indian citizen and doctoral student at Columbia, for "advocating for violence and terrorism." Srinivasan opted to "self-deport" Tuesday, the department said.
Reportedly she ran off to Canada, where she’ll fit right in.
Officials didn’t say what evidence they had that Srinivasan had advocated violence. Her lawyers denied the accusations, and she told The New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

that she wasn’t involved in organizing any Columbia protests.

According to the newspaper, the Department of Homeland Security said Srinivasan didn’t disclose two protest-related summonses on her visa renewal application last year. Srinivasan told the newspaper she had received the summonses — for allegedly refusing to disperse and obstructing foot or vehicle traffic — after simply getting caught up in a crowd of protesters while trying to return to her apartment from a picnic last year. She said she left the summonses off her renewal form because her case had been dismissed.

The woman who was arrested in Newark, Leqaa Kordia, was charged with failing to leave the US after her visa expired. Columbia said it had no record of Kordia ever being a student there or being arrested on the campus. However,
a woman is only as old as she admits...
there were numerous protests and arrests in the streets outside of the university at the same time.

Kordia had previously received a student visa, but it was terminated in 2022 for "lack of attendance," the department said. She is being held in an immigration detention center in Alvarado, Texas, according to a government database.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio
...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration...
told news hounds Friday the Trump administration is expecting to revoke more student visas in the coming days.

Government Corruption
Rep. James Comer and FBI to Bring CRIMINAL CHARGES Against ActBlue Operatives in Largest Money Laundering Scheme in U.S. History
[Gateway] The hammer is about to drop on Act Blue, the Democrats’ golden goose of fundraising, as House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) teams up with the FBI to expose what could be the biggest money-laundering scandal in American political history.

In an explosive interview with Benny Johnson, Comer laid out a damning case against the far-left fundraising juggernaut, accusing it of funneling billions in suspicious cash—potentially from foreign adversaries—into Democrat coffers under the guise of "grassroots" donations.

"We’re investigating ActBlue the same way we investigated the Bidens," Comer said. "We’re starting with the suspicious activity reports—bank violations that flag financial crimes. And let me tell you, the evidence is overwhelming."

As Comer’s investigation progresses, chaos is unfolding inside ActBlue. Key executives are resigning. Lawyers are jumping ship. Employees are getting locked out of their computers, sending frantic messages about whistleblowers.

The chairman detailed how his committee began investigating ActBlue after discovering a flood of small-dollar donations from untraceable sources, many from elderly Americans who were unaware their names were being used to funnel cash into the Democrat machine.

When I read "We’re investigating ActBlue the same way we investigated the Bidens,"

So naturally the real question is and has been.

Will there be actual, real arrests with serious charges for all those involved? Or will we see the usual "censored", "fined", and/or "probation", as punishment.

Will it include the elected members of congress, those they appointed, and the staff involved in funneling Taxpayer $$$$ into it, and then out into certain pockets?

Because, anything short of a full accountability and real jail time is unacceptable.

Caribbean-Latin America
Ecuador pitches US military base and free trade deal to Trump allies, sources say
Trades are President Trump’s love language.
[Reuters] Ecuadorean officials have told allies of U.S. President Donald Trump that they are interested in hosting a U.S. military base in the South American country, according to two sources with direct knowledge of the matter.

The officials also said they were interested in inking a free trade deal with the United States, which has eluded the Andean nation, even as neighboring Colombia and Peru have had bilateral accords with the U.S. for over a decade, said the sources, who requested anonymity to describe private conversations.

The expressions of interest were delivered in recent weeks to Republican lobbyists in Washington close to the Trump administration, the sources said. It is unclear if the administration is itself aware of or interested in the proposals, and the White House National Security Council did not respond to a request for comment.

The military base pitch is the latest unconventional plan advanced by the administration of Ecuadorean President Daniel Noboa, who is trying to tamp down on crime and strengthen ties with Trump associates heading into a competitive April election.

On Wednesday, Noboa announced a "strategic alliance" with Erik Prince - a prominent Trump supporter and founder of controversial private military firm Blackwater - to take on crime and narcoterrorism in the country of 17 million.
Noboa, the 37-year-old heir to one of the country's biggest business fortunes, has publicly argued for bringing foreign military bases to Ecuador. The Ecuadorean legislature is in the early stages of a legislative process that could eliminate a constitutional ban on such facilities instituted in 2008 with the support of leftist former President Rafael Correa.

The U.S. government had a military base on the environmentally sensitive Galapagos Islands during World War II and a separate base used largely to combat narcotics trafficking on the mainland until 2009, at which point Correa forced Washington to abandon the outpost.

Several other small and medium-sized nations have been exploring unconventional ways of building ties with Washington, some of which appear designed to take advantage of Trump's transactional foreign policy impulses and willingness to entertain unconventional policy ideas.

Officials in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, for instance, have traveled to Washington in recent weeks to pitch the Trump administration on a critical minerals deal between the two nations. Officials in El Salvador, governed by conservative President Nayib Bukele, a prominent Trump ally, have offered to host criminals deported from the U.S. in Salvadoran jails.

Ecuador's government recently selected Washington-based Mercury Public Affairs to represent its interests with the Trump administration, according to a Monday filing with a Justice Department division that oversees foreign lobbying efforts.

The filing outlining the lobbying contract does not include any reference to military bases. It does identify "migration, trade, and security issues, including anti-terrorism efforts" as potential areas of collaboration.

The Ecuadorean foreign ministry and Mercury Public Affairs did not respond to requests for comment.

TIGHT ELECTION
Ecuador is heading for a tight April 13 runoff election that will pit Noboa against leftist Luisa Gonzalez, a protege of Correa.

Noboa has campaigned on what he says has been a 15% cut in violent deaths last year, a reduction in prison violence and the capture of major gang leaders. He has vowed to keep deploying the military on the streets and in prisons to fight insecurity.

The Noboa administration is also seeking to develop strategies alongside the State Department's Bureau of International Narcotics and Law Enforcement Affairs to "fight narcoterrorism," according to the Monday filing with the Justice Department.

Gonzalez, 47, has expressed opposition to the presence of foreign troops in Ecuador while calling for more efforts to fight the drug trade-related crime that has rocked the country in recent years. She has pledged to pursue corrupt judges and prosecutors and roll out a social spending plan in the most violent areas.

One of the sources familiar with the Ecuadoreans' interactions with Republican lobbyists said they were likely asking for too many deliverables in too short a time. The State Department tends to limit bilateral engagement directly before elections so as not to appear to be supporting a particular party, the source noted.

Trump has pledged to fight narcotics trafficking in Latin America, and he has at times expressed an interest in expanding U.S. hard power. He has, for instance, threatened to invade Panama, floated acquiring Greenland and said the U.S. could effectively take over Gaza.

But his administration's engagement with Latin America has not always followed an obvious pattern.

He has repeatedly threatened to slap 25% across-the-board tariffs on Mexico - which partially took effect earlier in March - amid dissatisfaction with that country's attempts to combat fentanyl trafficking, while at the same time complimenting Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum.

His administration has made a deportation deal with Venezuela, a regional foe, but also declined to renew Chevron's license to operate there, a move which has further isolated that nation economically.

Europe
How dependent are Europe's militaries on the US?
[France24] European NATO countries are taking urgent steps to boost their armaments industries amid mounting concern about the strength of Washington's commitment to their security. FRANCE 24 spoke to Richard Aboulafia, managing director at consultancy AeroDynamic Advisory, about the challenges of scaling up domestic and pan-European defence industries and the dangers of reliance on US military equipment.

Europe's scramble to rearm itself comes as much of the continent has grown more dependent on weapons supplies from the United States, according to data released Monday by the Stockholm International Peace Research Institute (SIPRI).

NATO countries in Europe have more than doubled their arms imports between 2020 and 2024, with the US supplying over 64% of the total – up from 52% over the previous five-year period.

Many countries have moved forward with their decisions to purchase US arms despite growing concern that America's decades-long security guarantees to Europe are no longer reliable under US President Donald Trump.

The figures reflect the challenges facing Europe as it scrambles to reduce its military dependence on Washington and take charge of its own security.

For more, FRANCE 24 speaks to defence expert Richard Aboulafia, managing director at consultancy AeroDynamic Advisory.

How reliant is Europe on the US in terms of intelligence, maintenance and software updates for its military equipment?

There are two forms of reliance: one is on capacities, which includes intelligence, and the other is on existing systems. The French case is a great way to distinguish between the two. France, like everyone else, is dependent on ISR (Intelligence, Surveillance & Reconnaissance). Yet it is unique in that it is largely independent from the US in terms of military equipment. Most other EU countries have some degree of US content in their inventories, and many are dependent on US-made F-35 fighter jets, the weakest link. It’s the most-connected fighter ever built, constantly communicating with offboard sensors, systems and networks. It’s also heavily dependent on regular software updates.

France’s defence industry is largely independent from the US. Consider the French jet Rafale, which is 100% French. I like to joke that the only thing that isn’t French about the Rafale is the coffee holder.

It’s almost like a spectrum of dependence. On one end, you have the French defence industry which has an impressive level of sovereignty. On the other end you have Denmark, which is unfortunate because of its diplomatic tensions with the US over Greenland’s future. The UK is closer to Denmark on the spectrum of dependence on the US because it went heavily under the control of US systems and capacities after Brexit.

Could the US immobilise European weapons systems with so-called kill switches?

There are two types of kill switches. One is the failure to provide spare parts or to update software, knowing that more modern weaponry constantly needs updates. The other kind of kill switch is to completely turn off a weapons system. It’s a question of changing a couple of lines of code. Just like with an iPhone, the provider can turn it off.

The situation we are in today is unprecedented, with the US turning its back on a major ally.

Ukrainian troops in the field reported yesterday that they came under instant attack from artillery and drones as soon as they activated their Starlink terminals. This implies the US is not only hurting Ukraine but helping the Russian side by possibly providing them with satellite imagery.

Many European countries are still ordering weapons from the US despite concerns about the transatlantic alliance. What are the challenges of scaling up the national and pan-European aerospace industries in Europe?

Scaling up a national industry is much more difficult than scaling up a globalised one. Ten times more F-35s were delivered in 2024 than Rafales (141 to 14). The F-35 uses production resources from over a dozen countries, including Germany’s Rheinmetall, which was added to the list of major suppliers this year.

France’s industry supply chain, in contrast, is vertically national – it can provide everything from nuclear weapons, to tanks, to nuclear submarines. But this impressive level of sovereignty may in fact be hindering France’s defence industry. In the case of the Rafale, it’s very much in demand, with over 170 aircraft – mostly for export – on backlog in 2023. Yet only 21 were delivered that year.

Ursula von der Leyen’s 800-billion-euro defence fund presented last week can help speed up this process. Another solution is the development of pan-European systems like Eurofighter [Editor's note: a fighter jet developed by the UK, Germany, Italy and Spain], which competes with Rafale.

Europeans also have one advantage over the US, in terms of manufacturing prowess, as reported in Foreign Policy. Europe collectively outproduces the US in steel, civil aircraft, vehicles and ships. This could give the EU the impetus to help Ukraine and begin domestic rearmament even as Donald Trump abandons Kyiv and threatens to leave NATO.
Go for it, guys. Your needs are great, and America needs to do a serious resupply of our own desperately depleted stores. While you’re at it, rebuild your power generation with something other than Green methods, please.

Two prestigious Ivy League institutions are among over 50 universities targeted by the US Department of Education for alleged discrimination against white students.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Two prestigious Ivy League institutions are among over 50 universities targeted by the US Department of Education for alleged discrimination against white students.

On Friday, the DoED announced the sprawling investigations, accusing reputable institutions like Cornell and Yale universities, of using 'racial preferences and stereotypes in education programs and activities.'

The federal department's Office of Civil Rights said that 45 schools, particularly with their graduate programs, acted in violation to the 1964 Civil Rights Act by partnering with The PhD Project.

The PhD Project is a nonprofit program which helps students from underrepresented groups earn doctoral degrees in business, with the goal of diversifying the industry.

The program focuses on supporting Black, Latino and Native American students.

The Education Department alleges that the project limits eligibility based on the race of participants, and therefore, universities involved with the organization are engaging in 'race-exclusionary practices.'

'Students must be assessed according to merit and accomplishment, not prejudged by the color of their skin. We will not yield on this commitment,' Education Secretary Linda McMahon said in a statement.

In response to the allegations, The PhD Project told NPR: 'Our vision is to create a broader talent pipeline of current and future business leaders...' The organization added, 'This year, we have opened our membership application to anyone who shares that vision.'

Canadians in oil-rich province explain reason they want to become America's 51st state
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] While most Canadians recoil at the thought of becoming the US' 51st state, an increasingly vocal minority are convinced it is essential for the future of their country.

Secessionists in Alberta say they are sick of their oil-rich province subsidizing the rest of the nation.

A dissatisfaction with the status quo, along with avid support for Donald Trump, has led to around 10 percent of Canadians expressing separatist views, the Telegraph reports.

The idea of Canada joining the US was first floated by the president last year and was largely taken in jest at the time after he jokingly referred to former leader Justin Trudeau as the 'Governor' of Canada.

However he has since triggered a trade war by slapping tariffs on some goods coming across the northern border.

Amid the growing tariff war, the bubbling secession movement is gaining speed.

At a recent makeshift ceremony, Alberta local Dan Casselman swore an oath renouncing his allegiance to Canada in favor of the US, citing his fears his home nation is 'doomed'.

At the heart of many of so-called 51st Staters gripes is anger over the way they feel Alberta's oil industry has been both demonized and exploited by liberals.

The province provides 56 percent of all US oil imports and is the richest in Canada with a GDP per capita.

But measures brought in under former Primer Minister Justin Trudeau's father Pierre Trudeau mean that the $2 billion of profits are redistributed to French speaking Quebec and left-leaning Ontario.

The younger Trudeau also pursued green energy targets at the expense of the oil industry which many Albertans feel is a mistake.

'All we're doing is saying we want this, yeah, we accept President Trump's offer,' Alberta native Peter Downing told the Telegraph.

'We want lower taxes. And we want to never pay another dime to Ottawa through "equalization."'

Canadians tend to pay more than Americans in tax due to the country's extensive social services.

Pierre Poilievre, the leader of the Conservative Party which is currently tied with current prime minister Mark Carney's Liberal Party, estimates that Canada has lost out on $121 billion due to 15 oil and gas pipelines which were cancelled between 2015 and 2020.

Downing pointed out that by contrast, Trump's 'Drill Baby Drill' approach to oil would boost jobs in Canada.

Colombian migrant theft gang stole millions from Americans during cross-country heist spree: feds
[NYPOST] A gang of Colombian migrants colonists made off with millions of dollars worth of gems in heists in several states, funneling their booty to a Putnam Valley jewelry peddler who melted down and fenced the gold, federal prosecutors said this week.

The ''South American Theft Group'' operated in Florida, Georgia, Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, and elsewhere targeting traveling jewelry salespeople, and stores, from September 2019 to August 2021, authorities said.

Their biggest score came in February 2020, when they robbed as much as $2.6 million in merchandise from a traveling jewelry salesperson in Boynton Beach, FL, court records show. The year before, they nabbed $730,000 in jewelry during a September theft from a car in Boca Raton, FL, and $125,000 during a November robbery in Miami Beach.

All the stolen merchandise was unloaded to Mark Simon, a Westchester County resident who allegedly paid cut-rate prices in cash and often traveled to Florida to meet them in hotel rooms, prosecutors said.

Simon, 56, allegedly paid just just $16,000 for $1 million in baubles stolen in a Dalton, GA, burglary, according to prosecutors and court records.

French, German officials opt out after Israel invites far right to antisemitism conf.
[IsraelTimes] Bernard-Henri Levy and Berlin’s antisemitism czar withdraw from this month’s Jerusalem event after learning who else is on Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli’s guest list

French philosopher Bernard-Henri Levy and two German officials have canceled their participation in an Israeli government-organized conference on combating antisemitism at the end of the month after learning that far-right European figures have been invited.

The March 26-27 conference is being organized by Diaspora Minister Amichai Chikli, who has worked to strengthen Israel’s relationship with Europe’s far-right parties, which Israel had long boycotted due to their ties to antisemitism and Nazism.

Prominent far-right figures on the International Conference on Combating Antisemitism’s guest list include Jordan Bardella, president of the far-right French National Rally party; Marion Marechal, a far-right French Member of the European Parliament; and Hermann Tertsch, a far-right Spanish Member of the European Parliament.

Levy, one of La Belle France’s most prominent public intellectuals and a staunch defender of Israel, was scheduled to be a keynote speaker at the event. But he told the French daily Le Monde that he informed President Isaac Herzog that he would not attend because of the far-right guests.

Felix Klein, Germany’s antisemitism czar, told Haaretz he had been unaware of the guest list when he confirmed his attendance, and canceled after seeing who was slated to speak at the event.

Volker Beck, a former Bundestag member, also announced he would not attend, writing on X: "If we associate ourselves with extreme right-wing forces, we discredit our common cause; it also goes against my personal convictions and will have a negative impact on our fight against antisemitism within our societies."

Officials at the President’s Residence in Jerusalem, which is hosting the event, told Haaretz they were "surprised to hear who the invitees were, as it was clarified that the purpose of the conference is combating antisemitism." They added that they had not yet received a guest list but would examine it once they did.

This is the first official Israeli government event to which members of Europe’s radical right have been invited.

Chikli’s outspoken support for the European far-right has drawn condemnation from European countries.

In December, Romania’s Ambassador to Israel condemned Chikli for holding a phone conversation with presidential candidate Calin Georgescu, who has praised Romanian leaders who oversaw the deaths of some 280,000 Jews during the Holocaust.

French President Emmanuel Macron complained to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu about Chikli after he publicly endorsed the presidential candidacy of National Rally’s Marine Le Pen in the recent election.

The National Rally, currently led by Bardella, has made efforts in recent years to disassociate itself from its antisemitic origins. "My presence in Jerusalem for this major conference against antisemitism demonstrates our absolute commitment to this fight," Bardella told Le Journal du Dimanche.

The conference is offering guests a tour of the West Bank, in which "participants shall explore the diverse aspects of life and coexistence in the region, delve into ancient biblical sites, and gain a comprehensive understanding of the region’s strategic importance."

Other notable attendees include Herzog, Netanyahu, Argentine President Javier Milei, Anti-Defamation League head Jonathan Greenblatt, and evangelist Mike Evans.

Notably, no members of the Alternative for Germany (AfD) party were invited. The far-right faction made significant gains in last month’s national election, coming in second in the polls.

Saturday hostage rallies draw thousands as families end 1st week of encampment
[IsraelTimes] Protests take place as Netanyahu convenes the cabinet a day after negotiators returned from Doha; families forum slam meeting as belated: ‘The opportunity is now’

Weekly pro-hostage deal and anti-government rallies drew thousands of people on Saturday night, as Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu was set to discuss negotiations for the release of hostages with Israeli officials who returned from Doha on Friday.

The rallies come a week after families and supporters began an open-ended round-the-clock encampment outside the IDF’s Kirya headquarters in Tel Aviv.

As part of the encampment, families held a Friday night Shabbat dinner at Hostages Square, across the street from the headquarters’ northern gate; and on Saturday morning, the encampment’s daily jog drew hundreds of people — a large uptick in participants.

The Hostage and Missing Families Forum, which invited the public to join "Operation Kirya Cordon," was holding its central rally in the evening at Hostages Square.

In a blurb on the rally, the forum demanded that Israel secure a deal to return the remaining 59 hostages "in a single, immediate release."

"The opportunity is now, and there won’t be another time," said the forum. "If an agreement is not reached soon, the living hostages may die in the tunnels, and we won’t be able to locate and return the dear departed for proper burial."

The Hostages Square rally was set to feature speeches by Etty Israeli, aunt of slain captive soldier Itay Chen; Yotam Cohen, brother of captive soldier Nimrod Cohen; Liran Berman, older brother of hostage twins Gali and Ziv Berman; Hadassa Lazar, sister of Shlomo Mantzur, whose remains were returned to Israel last month as part of the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
ceasefire-hostage deal; Maya Shmiel, cousin of captive Eitan Horn and of Iair Horn, who was released on February 15 as part of the deal; and Nira Sharabi, wife of slain captive Yossi Sharabi and sister-in-law of Eli Sharabi, who was released on February 8.

In addition to Hostages Square, dozens of smaller rallies were taking place around the country, including in Jerusalem, Kiryat Gat and the Sha’ar HaNegev Junction in the south.

A block away from Hostages Square, anti-government hostage families and supporters were holding their weekly protest outside the Kirya’s main entrance on Begin Road.

They were to be joined by protesters marching from an earlier anti-government demonstration at Habima Square, which aimed to highlight "Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...
gate" — the investigation of alleged ties between Netanyahu’s top aides and the Gulf state.

The Habima Square protest was set to feature speeches from The Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
chief Yair Golan, former deputy attorney general Dina Zilber, and Shikma Bressler, a prominent activist in demonstrations against the government’s overhaul plan to weaken the judiciary.

The protests were timed to take place during Netanyahu’s scheduled meeting with bigwigs at his office in Jerusalem to discuss developments in the hostage-ceasefire talks. The Families Forum has slammed the premier for not meeting with officials as soon as the negotiators returned on Friday.

The talks are said to be based on a "bridge proposal" by Steve Witkoff, the White House Middle East envoy, to extend the ceasefire’s first phase until April 19 and continue the exchange of living Israeli hostages for Paleostinian prisoners.

Witkoff said Friday that Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
was making a "very bad bet" if it did not accept the offer.

Israel has accused Hamas of evading Witkoff’s proposal, most recently after the terror group on Thursday offered to release US-Israeli captive IDF soldier Edan Alexander and the remains of four other dual nationals. The Families Forum slammed the offer as "passport-based" discrimination.

An Arab diplomat told The Times of Israel on Friday that Hamas’s offer was based on its talks with US hostages envoy Adam Boehler on March 4. The Hamas-US meeting fired up the rubes in Israel, which reportedly leaked the talks’ existence in a bid to thwart them.

Alexander, 20, is slated for release in a potential second phase of the hostage deal, which would see Hamas release the remaining 24 hostages still thought to be alive. All of them are men kidnapped on October 7, 2023, when the terror group invaded southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages, sparking the war in Gaza.

Trump admin axes US-funded media in shock move
[GEO.TV] The Trump administration has abruptly suspended journalists at US-funded broadcasters, including Voice of America and Radio Free Asia, ordering them to leave their offices and surrender equipment in a move critics say weakens America's global media influence.

Hundreds of news hounds and other staff at VOA, Radio Free Asia, Radio Free Europa
...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum...
and other outlets received a weekend email saying they will be barred from their offices and should surrender press passes, office-issued telephones and other equipment.

Trump, who has already eviscerated the US aid agency and Education Department, on Friday issued an executive order listing the US Agency for Global Media as among "elements of the federal bureaucracy that the president has determined are unnecessary."

Kari Lake, a firebrand
...firebrands are noted more for audio volume and the quantity of spittle generated than for any actual logic in their arguments...
Trump supporter and former Arizona news anchor who was put in charge of the media agency after she lost a US Senate bid, wrote — in an email to media outlets she supervises — that federal grant money "no longer effectuates agency priorities."

A White House press official, Harrison Fields, took a much less legalistic tone in a post on X, simply writing "goodbye" in 20 languages, a sarcastic jab at VOA's multilingual coverage.

2 Hezbullies killed in Lebanon strike
[IsraelTimes] IDF says Hezbollah member hit in the north

Lebanese media reported an Israeli drone strike on a car in the southern town of Borj al-Mlouk, located just north of the Israeli border town of Metula. Two people were killed in the strike, Lebanese media said.

The IDF confirmed carrying out that airstrike as well, saying it targeted a Hezbollah operative who was “engaged in terror activity.”

In Lebanon, the military said it “struck a Hezbollah terrorist who took part in terrorist activity in the area of Kafr Kila in southern Lebanon.”

The strikes in Lebanon and Gaza come amid ceasefires on both war fronts, but Israel has said it will continue to act against terror operatives who are in breach of the truces and who pose a threat to its forces.

Three killed in blast in Syria's Latakia UPDATE: 16 bodies after scrap metal dealer dismantled munition from 2012 civil war
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] At least three people were killed in a powerful explosion in southern Syria's Latakia. This was reported by the Al Watan publication.

It is noted that the explosion occurred in a four-story building in the Er-Raml district. People remain under the rubble.

Civil defense teams have begun clearing away debris, and medics are helping the victims.

As reported by the Regnum news agency, on March 6, clashes broke out in Latakia between supporters of former Syrian President Bashar al-Assad and forces of the country's new government. Clashes also began in the province of Tartus. The republic's authorities sent troops into these regions. According to the Kurdish television channel Rudaw on March 8, more than 500 civilians were killed in armed clashes in Syria.

On March 9, fighting broke out in the port city of Baniyas in Tartus province, where pro-Assad forces attacked a gas power plant to destroy the city's energy infrastructure, while government forces tried to retake the facility.

By March 11, Syrian government forces had stopped attempts at attacks by armed supporters of former President Assad, said the country's Defense Ministry spokesman Hassan Abdel Ghani.

War monitor says unexploded ordnance triggered deadly blast on Syrian coast

[IsraelTimes] Unwent kaboom! ordnance triggered a blast in the Syrian coastal city of Latakia, a war monitor says, after state media reported three deaths in the earth-shattering kaboom.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights describes the blast as an "accident" resulting from a resident’s attempt to dismantle unwent kaboom! ordnance in the building.
Update from the Times of Israel at 4:40 p.m. ET:
Ordnance from Syria’s 13-year civil war exploded in the coastal city of Latakia, collapsing a building and killing at least 16 people, the Syrian Civil Defense said Sunday.

The paramedic group, known as the White Helmets, said it searched through debris overnight and recovered 16 bodies, including five women and five children. Eighteen people were injured, the paramedics said.

Images from Syria’s SANA news agency showed a plume of smoke rising from Latakia’s crowded southern neighborhood of Al-Rimal, and a pile of rubble where the building had once stood.

The United Nations said in February that about a hundred people have been killed from exploding ordnance during the last 13 years.

Since Assad’s ouster, over 1,400 unexploded devices have been safely disposed of across Syria, and 138 minefields and contaminated areas have been identified in Idleb, Aleppo, Hama, Deir Ezzor and Latakia, according to the UN.

Aid agency Humanity and Inclusion warned last month that between 100,000 and 300,000 of the roughly one million munitions used during the war never detonated.

Huthis vow retaliation after US strikes on Sanaa, kills at least 9; US official says could go on for days or weeks
See also here.
[GEO.TV] Yemen's Huthis vowed to respond to deadly strikes on the capital Sanaa on Saturday after US President Donald Trump said Washington had launched a "decisive" action against the Iran-backed rebels.

"This aggression will not pass without a response, and our Yemeni armed forces are fully prepared to confront escalation with escalation," the rebels' political bureau said in a statement on their Al-Masirah television.
What are they going to do, shoot missiles at ships in the Red Sea?

At least 9 killed in US-British airstrikes on Sana'a
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least nine people were killed and nine others maimed on Saturday when the American and British fighter jets launched a series of strikes on the Yemen

The Yemeni Health Ministry front man, Anis al-Asbahi, said in a news statement that the initial toll from the US-British aggression that targeted a residential a residential neighborhood in the Sha'ub district, north of the capital was nine deaders and nine maimed.

Earlier in the day evening, the US-British aircraft launched three raids a residential neighborhood in the district.

Frank G. gives us the American side of the equation:
Trump Orders Military Strikes Against Houthi Terrorists in Yemen
[PJM] Do it. Break them. Completely.
President Donald Trump announced a decisive military response against Houthi militants in Yemen, declaring that the United States will no longer tolerate their attacks on American and allied shipping. "Today, I have ordered the United States Military to launch decisive and powerful Military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen," Trump said in a post on Truth Social. The Houthis, he said, have been conducting "an unrelenting campaign of piracy, violence, and terrorism against American, and other, ships, aircraft, and drones."

Trump sharply criticized the previous administration’s failure to rein in the Iran-backed Houthis, arguing that Joe Biden’s weak response only emboldened the terrorist group. "Joe Biden’s response was pathetically weak, so the unrestrained Houthis just kept going," he said. As a result, "it has been over a year since a U.S.-flagged commercial ship safely sailed through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, or the Gulf of Aden." Even American warships haven’t been safe—Trump pointed out that "the last American Warship to go through the Red Sea, four months ago, was attacked by the Houthis over a dozen times."

Trump directly blamed Iran for funding the Houthis’ ongoing assaults. "Funded by Iran, the Houthi thugs have fired missiles at U.S. aircraft, and targeted our Troops and Allies," he said. These continuous attacks, he noted, have inflicted massive economic harm, stating, "These relentless assaults have cost the U.S. and World Economy many BILLIONS of Dollars while, at the same time, putting innocent lives at risk."

Trump vowed that American forces would respond with overwhelming force to ensure freedom of navigation. "The Houthi attack on American vessels will not be tolerated," he declared. "We will use overwhelming lethal force until we have achieved our objective." He described the Houthis as having "choked off shipping in one of the most important Waterways of the World, grinding vast swaths of Global Commerce to a halt, and attacking the core principle of Freedom of Navigation upon which International Trade and Commerce depends."

The military response is already underway, according to Trump. "Our brave Warfighters are right now carrying out aerial attacks on the terrorists’ bases, leaders, and missile defenses to protect American shipping, air, and naval assets, and to restore Navigational Freedom," he announced. "No terrorist force will stop American commercial and naval vessels from freely sailing the Waterways of the World."

Trump then issued a stark warning to the Houthis: "To all Houthi terrorists, YOUR TIME IS UP, AND YOUR ATTACKS MUST STOP, STARTING TODAY. IF THEY DON’T, HELL WILL RAIN DOWN UPON YOU LIKE NOTHING YOU HAVE EVER SEEN BEFORE!"

He also sent a strong message to Tehran, demanding an immediate end to its support for the Houthis. "To Iran: Support for the Houthi terrorists must end IMMEDIATELY!" he declared. "Do NOT threaten the American People, their President, who has received one of the largest mandates in Presidential History, or Worldwide shipping lanes. If you do, BEWARE, because America will hold you fully accountable and, we won’t be nice about it!"

Note to Democrats: this is what strength looks like.
The Times of Israel adds:
Residents in Sanaa said the strikes hit a building in a stronghold of the militant group.

“The explosions were violent and shook the neighborhood like an earthquake. They terrified our women and children,” one of the residents, who gave his name as Abdullah Yahia, told Reuters.
Courtesy of Skidmark, the Daily Mail has photos, adding:
Footage shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, shows several airstrikes hitting areas near Sanaa International Airport, with reports of a number of explosions heard. The images show black smoke billowing into the sky over the area of the Sanaa airport complex, which includes a sprawling military facility.

According to Houthi-run AI Masirah TV, the strikes targeted a residential neighbourhood in the Shu'aub district, which lies just north of the capital.

US official says strikes on Houthis to continue for days and possibly weeks
[IsraelTimes] An unfolding US military campaign of strikes against Yemen’s Iran-aligned Houthis could last days and maybe weeks, a US official tells Reuters, speaking on the condition of anonymity.

US President Donald Trump announced the start of the operation earlier on Saturday, warning the Houthi attacks against Red Sea shipping needed to stop, or “Hell will rain down upon you.”

Trump Announces FBI Move to Smaller HQ
BLUF: Instead of the FBI moving to a huge, new campus in Maryland, they’re going to downsize in the old Department of Commerce building on Constitution Avenue. The Herbert Hoover building is only 25% as big as the current FBI HQ in the J. Edgar Hoover building, which was already slated to be sold.
[PJMedia] President Donald Trump
...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down...
's speech about "turning the page" on unequal treatment under the law at the Department of Justice on Friday upset all the right people—especially the old guard at the FBI.

During his one-hour speech, complete with occasional sidebars about everything from former Indiana basketball coach Bobby Knight to the bravery of Florida Federal Judge Aileen Cannon, Trump named names and kicked some cabooses. Trump made it clear that the DOJ and FBI's illegal ways of meting out justice in the past were over.

At the DOJ hall, Trump calmly name-checked "deranged" Jack Smith and Andrew Weissmann, both of whom tried to throw the president in jail for unmerited reasons. "Norm Eisen of CREW...he's been after me for nine years." Trump used the names of these now MSNBC experts as a purpose pitch. If you're not a baseball fan, you'll have to look it up.

He told the crowd, filled with new and old justice officials, that it was "a great honor to have fired James The spine of the FBI is the rule of law Comey
The disgraced, except in his own mind, former head of the FBI...
," the FBI director who sent honeypot agents into the early days of the Trump campaign without predication, tried to blackmail Trump with the dossier news, giving CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
a reason to report the fake news (CNN has never returned its White House Correspondents award for this fake story), and setting the media hook for the Russia collusion farce that was an ongoing election interference operation.

Trump said, "These are bad people," and that the people who broke the law and violated their oaths "need to go to jail." Indeed, the latest revelation that Joe The Big Guy Biden
...46th president of the U.S. You're a lyin' dog-faced pony soldier...
turned over both Trump and Mike Pence's phone which the FBI exploited without a warrant, and then used the phone to apply for a warrant afterward, is yet another example of how federal law enforcement broke the law to Get Trump.

But he saved his biggest and most powerful verbal ordnance to explode in the faces of those who, in the midst of the Russia collusion nonsense, were rewarded with a brand new building by Trump!

Trump announced that the FBI will not get its new headquarters campus in Maryland. Indeed, he's never wanted it in the suburbs.

I've reported on plans for this new FBI campus before. The sprawling, Silicon Valley-like campus dwarfs the ugly FBI building in D.C. Trump said the proposed Maryland campus site is too far away—he called it "three hours away," which it's not, unless it's a Friday get-away day.

DEI, environmental, and other tangential things were suffused into the plans for the new campus.

Trump and everyone else in Washington, D.C. hates the utilitarian look of the FBI HQ on Capitol Hill. There are plans to sell off the old Hoover FBI HQ. It's expected to be renovated or torn down for D.C. condos and retail space.

Trump said, "Under Director Patel, we're getting the FBI agents out of the headquarters in Washington, D.C. and back on the streets in pursuit of dangerous criminals, where they belong and where they want to be."

After initially saying he wanted to build a new HQ on the site of the old FBI building, Trump said Kash Patel told him he wanted to move into the old Department of Commerce building on Constitution Avenue, and "about 25% the size" of the J. Edgar Hoover building. Oddly, the Commerce Department building is named for President Herbert Hoover.

The imaginary headline of this story could read, "Former Director Chris Wray Most Hurt by Trump's New FBI Plan." Wray was rewarded a new headquarters during the first Trump administration, though he spied on Trump, paid informants to go to the J6 breach, deployed assets to the Jan. 6 Capitol breach and lied about it, approved of the Mar-a-Lago raid, and investigated Trump for election interference—allegations that never panned out and seemed to be part of a concerted effort by the Old Guard to do everything possible to destroy Trump's reputation. He lied about it all to Congress.
And then Trump got elected...and vanquished the Old Guard's FBI edifice complex.

UK jails 3 for kidnapping Israeli music producer: ‘Felt like my own personal Oct. 7’
[IsraelTimes] Judge says the trio were ‘motivated by events taking place elsewhere in the world’ and chose victim Itay Kashti based on their ‘understanding of his wealth and his Jewish heritage’

three men for eight years for having kidnapped a Jewish-Israeli music producer "motivated by events taking place elsewhere in the world."

Faiz Shah, 23, Mohammad Comrie, 23, and Elijah Ogunnubi-Sime, 20, tricked Itay Kashti into traveling hundreds of miles to west Wales, where they kidnapped him, handcuffing him to a radiator.

Kashti, in a victim impact statement, said the incident "felt like my own personal October 7," referring to the 2023 Hamas

The gang plotted the attack on a Telegram group chat and carried it out on August 26 last year.

Swansea Crown Court heard on Friday that the gang used false identities to rent out a remote cottage and arrange a taxi to pick up Kashti, who thought he was meeting people from a music production company.

They attacked the victim and taxi driver on arrival, but the taxi driver was able to escape and raise the alarm.

Police found the three men hiding in nearby fields and they pleaded guilty to charges of kidnap.

all three for eight years and one month. The attack, she said, was "motivated by events taking place elsewhere in the world."

"He was an entirely innocent, hard-working music producer that you had identified as a victim based on your understanding of his wealth and his Jewish heritage," she added.

Describing his ordeal, Kashti said: "I was kicked to the head several times, handcuffed to a radiator and forced to lie down on the floor.

"I was threatened and told if I were to try and escape, I’d be killed," he added.

Israel signals willingness for ceasefire talks amid US mediation efforts
[GEO.TV] Israel is prepared to continue Gaza ceasefire talks based on the mediators' response to a US proposal for the release of 11 living captives and half of the deceased, Netanyahu's office has said.

According to the statement, the proposal would see 11 living captives and half the dead captives released ''immediately''.

According to Israeli media, 24 captives are believed to be alive in Gaza and 35 captives are confirmed dead.

Yesterday, the US also proposed a ''bridge'' plan to extend the ceasefire in Gaza into April and allow time to negotiate a permanent end to Israel's war.

SpaceX launches new crew to ISS to finally relieve NASA's 2 stuck astronauts
[NYPOST] SpaceX successfully launched Crew Dragon 10 to the International Space Station Friday night on a mission that will return NASA's two stranded astronauts back to Earth after nine long months in orbit.

The Crew-10 mission lifted off just after 7 p.m. in a Falcon 9 rocket from NASA's Kennedy Space Center in Florida and is expected to arrive at the ISS late Saturday night to relieve astronauts Suni Williams and Butch Wilmore, who could splashdown in the Sunshine State as early as Wednesday.

The pair of star gazers have been stuck at the ISS since their Boeing Starliner capsule suffered several leaks and mechanical issues during their weeklong mission last June.

Williams and Wilmore will head back to Earth on one of the docketed SpaceX capsules with fellow American astronaut Nick Hague and Russian cosmonaut Aleksandr Gorbunov, who arrived in space in September.

The trip would end the nine-month-long saga the two astronauts have endured after their initially planned 10 days on the ISS was extended indefinitely due to the Boeing malfunction, which cratered the company's reputation last year.

Cuba still largely without power after nationwide grid collapse
[GEO.TV] Cuba remained largely without power on Saturday morning after the island's grid collapsed the night before, knocking out electricity for 10 million people and raising fresh questions about the viability of its antiquated generating system.

At sunrise, the island's grid operator UNE said it was generating only a trickle of electricity — around 225 MW, or less than 10% of total demand, enough to cover some vital services like hospitals, water supply and food production centres.

Officials said they had begun the process of firing up the country's decades-old generation plants, but gave no timeline for restoring service.

Cuba's grid failed Friday evening around 8:15pm (0015 GMT) after an aging component of a transmission line at a substation in Havana shorted, beginning a chain reaction that completely shut down power generation across the island, UNE officials said.

The grid collapse follows a string of nationwide blackouts late last year that plunged Cuba's frail power generating system into near-total disarray, stressed by fuel shortages, natural disaster and economic crisis.

Most Cubans outside the capital Havana have already been living for months with rolling blackouts that peaked at 20 hours a day in recent weeks.

Gaza to run out of basic foodstuffs within days
“Wolf! WOLF!! WOLF!!!!!!!!1!1!!!” Hamas warehouses have been stuffed full to bursting since Israel started allowing shipments in under Biden administration pressure. So full, in fact, that some official organization certified that Gaza is not and has never been in a famine situation or even close to running out of food.
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Hamas spokesman, Abdulatif al-Qanu, has warned that within the few coming days the Gaza markets would be void of many basic commodities and foodstuffs.

He said in a press release on Thursday that the Gaza inhabitants are under a tightened siege for the second consecutive week after Israel blocked the entry of food, fuel, medicines, and basic commodities in a new starvation policy.

''Unless the international community shoulders its responsibility toward the Gaza Strip, its inhabitants would again slip into famine in the holy month of Ramadan,'' al-Qanu underlined.

The Hamas spokesman urged the mediating countries to apply more pressure on Israel to open the Gaza crossings, allow entry of humanitarian aid materials, and end the policy of collective punishment against the Palestinian people.

On the situation in Kursk region. 03/15/2025
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[ColonelCassad] Active demining has begun in the liberated areas of the Kursk region. There is a lot of work to do. Over several months of fighting, a large number of mines and unexploded ordnance have accumulated there.

Assistance to residents liberated from occupation is also ongoing, as well as the systematization and investigation of the revealed facts of war crimes by the Armed Forces of Ukraine. Nothing will be forgotten. Like the cases of Chechen militants who are caught even after 20+ years, these cases will have no statute of limitations.

On the liberation of the remaining territories. The enemy controls approximately 35-40 km in the Kursk region, including 2.5 villages (Guyevo has not yet been cleared). Work in this direction is underway. The enemy is angry and shelling Sudzha, which it lost so ineptly, although it had been preparing it for defense for several months before.

Zelensky's regime has already written off those surrounded in the Kursk region. He does not want to give the order to surrender, since this would be a direct admission of military defeat. If the US does not put pressure on Zelensky, the fate of the remaining Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region is unenviable. The Russian Federation's position is simple - either surrender or death. Both options will suit us.

At least two soldiers martyred, nine terrorists killed in separate KP engagements
[GEO.TV] At least two Pakistain Army soldiers embraced martyrdom while nine turbans were bumped off in two separate engagements in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, the military's media wing said on Saturday.

According to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), security forces conducted an intelligence-based operation (IBO) in Mohmand District on the reported presence of terrorists.

"During the conduct of the operation, own troops effectively engaged [their] location, resultantly, seven khwarij were sent to hell," it said.

However,

during an intense fire exchange, two soldiers — Havildar Muhammad Zahid, a resident of District Malakand, and Sepoy Aftab Ali Shah, a resident of District Chitral, rendered the "ultimate sacrifice and embraced martyrdom".

District, a fire exchange took place between security forces and terrorists. Resultantly, two turbans were effectively neutralised.

Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the killed terrorists, who remained actively involved in numerous terrorist activities, the ISPR said.

"Sanitisation operations are being conducted to eliminate any other Kharji found in the area," it said, adding that the security forces were determined to wipe out the menace of terrorism from the country.

Katz: IDF will stay at 5 points in southern Lebanon regardless of border dispute talks
[IsraelTimes] Defense minister says ‘indefinite’ stay is needed to protect northern residents, tells army to dig in for a long stint; IDF hits Hezbollah target in Beqaa Valley

Defense Minister Israel Katz said on Friday that the Israel Defense Forces would remain deployed at five strategic points in southern Leb
...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects....
"indefinitely," regardless of negotiations over 13 disputed points on the border.

During an assessment the day before with IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir and other top military officials, Katz "clarified that the IDF will remain at the five points that control the buffer zone in Lebanon, indefinitely, for the sake of protecting the residents of the north, and this is without any connection to future negotiations on points of dispute on the border," his office said in a statement Friday.

Katz instructed the IDF to fortify its positions at the five strategic points and prepare to stay there for a long period, his office added.

Israel and Lebanon held direct talks earlier in the week to resolve long-running issues about their shared border, and Israel returned five Lebanese prisoners it had arrested in the fighting in what Jerusalem said was a gesture of good will.

Israel has remained at the five points ever since a ceasefire began on November 27, 2024, halting more than a year of hostilities initiated by the Lebanese terror group Hezbollah, including two months of full-blown war during which Israel sent in ground troops across the northern border.

While an Israeli official has said the discussions aim to reach normalization of bilateral relations, a Lebanese source quoted by the pro-Iran

The statement on Katz’s remarks came as the IDF confirmed carrying out an Arclight airstrike

against a Hezbollah "strategic weapons" manufacturing and storage facility in Lebanon’s Beqaa Valley.

"The IDF will continue to work to remove any threat to the State of Israel," the military said.

The Hezbollah facility has been hit several times by the Israeli Air Force in recent months.

Under the US-mediated ceasefire, Israel was to gradually withdraw from southern Lebanon and Hezbollah would move its forces from the border to be replaced by the Lebanese army. However,
corruption finds a dozen alibis for its evil deeds...
Israel has since accused Hezbollah of violating the terms by remaining in the border area and the Lebanese army of not properly deploying.

The IDF has carried out numerous strikes on Hezbollah targets, including some deep into Lebanese territory, a preventive right it says is enshrined in the ceasefire.

Meanwhile,

Lebanon named a new head of the armed forces to succeed Joseph Aoun, who was appointed president earlier this year.

"Brigadier General Rodolphe Haykal was named commander in chief of the armed forces," Minister of Information Paul Morcos said after a cabinet meeting, also confirming several other security appointments.

Haykal, 56, was made the army’s chief of operations last June, having previously served as the commander of the army sector south of the Litani River, according to the army’s website.

That area bore the brunt of the near-daily exchange of fire between Israel and the Hezbollah terror group during more than a year of hostilities that ended with the November 27 ceasefire.

Haykal is expected to play a key role in the implementation of the ceasefire agreement, a security source told AFP, adding that he was Aoun’s favored candidate for the post.

According to Lebanon’s power-sharing system, the army chief must be a Maronite Christian.

Morcos also announced earlier the appointment of the heads of the internal security, general security and state security apparatuses, as well as the approval of the defense ministry’s request to recruit 4,500 soldiers to reinforce troops in the south, where the army is deploying alongside UN peacekeepers as part of the ceasefire agreement.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Man is set on fire in Times Square as police hunt for arsonist on the loose
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Police in New York City are urgently searching for an arsonist after a man was brutally set on fire in Times Square early Sunday morning.

The victim, a 45-year-old man, was left with horrific burns all over his face and arms from the heinous attack.
The tallish African-American in dreadlocks or cornrows and khaki jeans walked without apparent pain to the ambulance.
The NYPD received a 911 call around 3.55am for a person set on fire at 41 Street and 7th Avenue.

Terrifying images and video showed the unnamed burn victim being taken into an ambulance with severe burns all over his body.

The shirtless man was wrapped in a blue blanket as dozens of first responders rushed to help him.

Police said they believe the man was set on fire, but the name of the perpetrator was not immediately released. It is unclear if it was a targeted or random attack.

The suspect is said to have a medium complexion and was last seen wearing blue clothing, according to authorities.
Sounds like another of New York City’s many mentally ill assailants.
The victim was transported to New York Presbyterian Cornell. He is in stable condition, police said.

Fast thinking first responders doused the victim with the fire extinguisher until the fire was out. Remnants of white foam were left on the pavement where the crime occurred.

Footage also showed police escorting a woman wearing a dress and heels, who is an apparent companion of the victim.
There is a slightly blurry photo of an expressionless lady at the link. She appears to be Asian, with waist-length dyed red hair, a short, black dress, and bare legs.

Tulsi Gabbard Announces Crackdown on Intel Leaks to Left-Wing Media Outlets
[NATIONALREVIEW] Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard announced Friday that she is cracking down on leaks coming from inside the intelligence community to left-wing media organizations.Gabbard declared on X that ''politically motivated'' leaks by intelligence officials will come to an end and listed several examples of unauthorized leaks to news outlets.

''Our nation's Intelligence Community must be focused on our national security mission. Politically motivated leaks undermine our national security and the trust of the American people, and will not be tolerated,'' Gabbard said.

''Unfortunately, such leaks have become commonplace with no investigation or accountability. That ends now. We know of and are aggressively pursuing recent leakers from within the Intelligence Community and will hold them accountable.''

Gabbard highlighted an undisclosed leaker who shared classified information with the progressive Huffington Post and another who imparted information about Israel and Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
to the Washington Post. A third leaker shared details about the U.S.-Russia relationship to NBC News and a fourth disclosed activities from the national counterintelligence and security center, a division within Gabbard's office, to The Record, a cybersecurity publication.

''Any unauthorized release of classified information is a violation of the law and will be treated as such,'' Gabbard concluded. Gabbard did not specify whether the leakers she identified were terminated from their positions.

The intelligence leakers will likely be referred to Attorney General Pam Bondi for prosecution. Bondi has taken a hard stance against unauthorized leakers, warning them of severe consequences. Leaks from the intelligence community and the broader administrative state were a problem for President Donald Trump
...Oh, noze! Not him!...
throughout his first term, helping entrench Trump's distrust for the intelligence community and federal employees, who are overwhelmingly Democratic in their political affiliation.

Five states considering required voter ID to stop non-citizen voting and boost election security
[JUSTTHENEWS] Five states are considering legislation or ratifying constitutional amendments that would either implement voter ID or prevent non-citizen voting, as both issues have become significant election integrity concerns.

Iowa, Maine, Michigan, Utah and Wisconsin are in the process of strengthening election integrity by pushing forward bills or proposed constitutional amendments that would verify a voter's identity and/or ensure that they are a U.S. citizen before voting. Only about half of the states have voter photo ID, and just 15 explicitly prohibit non-citizen voting.

77% FAVOR ID: POLLS
According to a Rasmussen Reports poll released last month, 77% of U.S. likely voters believe that requiring photo ID to vote is a reasonable measure to protect election integrity. The survey was conducted Jan. 26-28 of 1,229 U.S. likely voters, with a margin of error of /- 3 percentage points.

As of November, 35 states require voters to present a form of identification to cast their ballots, but some states have exceptions. Of the 35 states, 23 require voters to present photo ID, with some exceptions, and 12 do not explicitly require it. There are 15 states that do not require voter ID to vote in person on Election Day.

Meanwhile,
...back at the barn, Bossy was furiously chewing her cud and thinking...
thousands of non-citizen voters were discovered on voter rolls of several states last year. While non-citizens are prohibited from voting in federal, state and most local elections, the states of Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party,, Maryland and Vermont, and Washington, D.C., allow non-citizens to vote in local elections.

Following the approval of ballot measures to ban non-citizen voting in eight states last year, there are now 15 in total that allow only U.S. citizens to vote in elections: Alabama, Arizona, Colorado, Florida, Idaho, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisiana, Missouri, North Carolina, North Dakota, Ohio, Oklahoma, South Carolina and Wisconsin.

'Spewing The Same Crazy Stuff': White House Spokesman Says Capitol Would Benefit From Maxine Waters' Retirement
Responding to this story from yesterday.
[DAILYCALLER] White House Principal Deputy Press Secretary Harrison Fields criticized Democratic Caliphornia, an impregnable bastion of the Democratic Party, Rep. The Ageless and Downright Brilliant Comrade Maxine Impeach 45! Waters
...U.S. Representative for life from California's 43rd congressional district, serving since 1991, a total of 33.28805 years. A member of the Democratic Party, she is the most senior of the twelve black women currently serving in the United States Congress, and a member and former chair of the Congressional Black Caucus. Before becoming a member of Congress she served in the California Assembly, to which she was first elected back when Disco was in flower, in 1976, which would make it 48.28599 years. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects...
' annual issues retreat in Northern Virginia Friday, Waters accused President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
of trying to incite violence and start a civil war through disruptive policies like imposing tariffs, firing federal employees, and empowering Elon Musk to dismantle government services. In an appearance on ''The Evening Edit,'' Fields responded and said Waters is ''not a credible voice'' and recounted her past calls for confrontational protests against Republicans.

''Maxine Waters is another good reason why we need term limits. This is a woman that entered Congress before I was even born. At 86 years old, she is still spewing the same crazy stuff that she spewed over 30 years ago,'' Fields told host Elizabeth MacDonald. ''Maxine Waters is not a credible voice.''

Fields continued by referencing Waters' past remarks encouraging confrontations with Republicans.

''She was the same Maxine Waters that a couple of years ago was telling people to hit the streets, get in the faces of Republicans, and yell and scream and carry on,'' Fields said. ''She's not a serious woman. She is an agitator who is not becoming of a congresswoman. No one should take her seriously. Hopefully she will retire because the U.S. Capitol will be a whole lot better without her in it.''

MacDonald then pointed to a broader sense of disconnect within the Democratic Party and cited recent polling indicating Americans are tired of pandemic shutdowns, social justice riots, and ongoing mandates.

Draft 3-tier Trump travel BAN to hit 43 countries
[X] Not sure why Bhutan's on the list. I thought nothing ever happened there?

PJ Media responds:
The timing of this tells us a lot. I know it seems like forever ago, but you may recall the chaotic rollout of the first travel ban in 2017, when an Obama holdover named Sally Yates actively undermined presidential authority by refusing to defend the travel ban. The narrative was that Trump’s travel ban was racist, even though it was actually Barack Obama
I think when you spread the wealth around, it's good for everybody...
who came up with the list. Well, things are being done differently this time.

The New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

notes that the list was developed several weeks ago, which means that this time Trump has ensured that his Department of Justice, led by Attorney General Pam Bondi, is fully prepared to defend these crucial security measures.

With a DOJ now firmly aligned with America's interests, unlike the resistance-minded babus bureaucrats of 2017, the administration can implement these crucial security measures effectively. It's worth noting that Trump's current administration has experienced far fewer leaks than during his first term—a sign of increased institutional control and loyalty.

What's different this time? Trump has learned from experience. Instead of rushing implementation, the administration has methodically prepared for the inevitable lawfare from activist attorneys and open-borders advocates. The State Department has been deeply involved in developing these recommendations, ensuring a thorough vetting process.

Let's get something straight: despite what the hysterical left will undoubtedly claim, this isn't a "Moslem ban." Just like the previous ban, it excludes Indonesia—the world's largest Moslem nation. This is about national security, not religion.

Will that stop the left from freaking out? Don’t count on it. I suspect the meltdown over these expanded restrictions will be a sight to behold. They'll conveniently ignore that this policy is based on serious security assessments, not ideology. They'll forget how they stayed silent when Obama's administration identified these problematic countries. And they'll certainly never admit that Trump's previous travel ban helped keep Americans safer.

But here's the bottom line: President Trump promised to put America's security first, and he's delivering. While the final list may undergo some changes before reaching the White House, the message is clear—this administration is serious about protecting our borders and vetting who enters our country. The left can scream "xenophobia" all they want, but American citizens understand that strong borders make for a safer nation.

James Carville Says He's 'Telling' Dem Donors That Party Needs To Stop Pulling 'Stunts' Against Trump
[DAILYCALLER] Democratic strategist James Carville said during a Thursday podcast that he was in the Socialist paradise of San Francisco
...where God struck dead Anton LaVey, home of the Sydney Ducks, ruled by Vigilance Committee from 1859 through 1867, reliably and volubly Democrat since 1964...
instructing numerous party donors that ''stunts'' are not an effective way to combat President Donald Trump
...So far he's been unkillable, and they've tried....
On ''Lunch with Jamie,'' Carville pointed to Democrats
...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat.
' behavior during Trump's March 4 congressional address, where Texas Democratic Rep. Al Green interrupted the speech and numerous politicians held up signs. Carville suggested the party's approach lacked dignity and was not suited for the moment.

''As we speak, I'm in San Francisco with a lot of Democratic donors. And I'm telling them the last thing we want is throwing our hands in the air, screaming, protesting or anything like that,'' Carville said. ''This is a critical time in the history of the country. I'm 80 years old. I have never, ever been not close to as afraid for the country as I am now.''

''And I think the Democrats — we act like it. I think we should be determined, we should be dignified, okay? And that's got to guide how we do this,'' he continued. ''This is not the time for stunts, it really isn't — I always say Carville's first commandment of politics is: 'Thou shalt not make an ass out of thyself.' And people ought to keep that in mind.''

Carville told Fox News Digital in an interview published Friday that Democrats face pressure from donors who ''demand'' they take action against Trump.

''I think we're at a very perilous moment in the country. I really do. I think it might go the wrong way. And what I think Democrats should do is act like it's a very grave situation,'' he said. ''And, I know that they get donors that call them and demand something.''

Pollster Frank Luntz said on March 6 that voters detested Democrats' conduct at Trump's congressional address.

''The viewers really dislike[d] [it]. They saw this performance art. They saw it as a bad form of opposition,'' Luntz said.

''And in fact, what they decided to do with those paddles, what they decided to do with Congressman Green, was absolutely abhorrent to voters,'' he added.

A CNN
...formerly the Cable News Network, now who know what it might stand for...
poll conducted by SSRS on the night of Trump's speech found that 80% of the viewing audience believed Green's interruption was ''inappropriate.''

Russian President Putin Says They Will Spare Ukrainian Soldiers in Kursk if They Lay Down Their Arms and Surrender - The Last Refuge
[THECONSERVATIVETREEHOUSE] Why isn't Volodymyr Zelenskyy the one asking for mercy? That's the larger, unspoken message from Russian President Vladimir Putin
...President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances...

...Never got invited to a P.Diddy party...
's request for Russia to spare the lives of Ukrainian soldiers surrounded in the Kursk region, President Vladimir Putin says they will be spared if they lay down their arms and surrender.

Notice how Putin draws a distinction between President Trump and President Zelenskyy.

Putin says, ''we are sympathetic to President Trump's call to be guided by humanitarian considerations,'' and then Putin shifts the emphasis on the absence of this plea from bloodthirsty Zelenskyy. ''There must be an appropriate order from the military and politicianship of Ukraine to its troops to lay down their arms and surrender,'' Putin said.

Netanyahu files police complaint over ‘mafia-like’ blackmail by ex-Shin Bet chief
Not the Mafia, but like FBI founder J. Edgar Hoover, except Mr. Hoover was never so stupid as to publicly threaten the presidents whose secrets he kept in his files.
[IsraelTimes] Police chief orders review of comments by Nadav Argaman, after PM accuses him of using criminal tactics when threatening in TV interview to publish secret info if Netanyahu breaks the law

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu complained to police Friday against former Shin Bet chief Nadav Argaman, accusing him of "threatening and blackmailing a sitting prime minister" during a televised interview aired the night before.

In a letter sent to Israel Police Chief Daniel Levy, the prime minister urged opening an investigation against Argaman who "had crossed all red lines" when he chose to "threaten and blackmail a sitting prime minister with the methods and ways of crime organizations," acting in like the "mafia" and using "underworld" tactics.

The letter, published in full by Likud, was sent by Netanyahu’s attorney Uriel Nizri.

Police Commissioner Daniel Levi said on Friday afternoon that he had instructed Sherlocks "to review the comments" made by Argaman, the police said in a statement.

During his interview with the same network the night before, Argaman claimed to be sitting on a trove of information that would compromise the prime minister and threatened to make it public if Netanyahu breaks the law.

Netanyahu wrote to Levy that Argaman was threatening the prime minister via "criminal use of information he gained within the framework of his role in the Shin Bet agency."

Such action, he said, is a threat "not just to the prime minister but an absolute threat to the Israeli regime, the rule of law and to democracy."

He said the severity "goes beyond that of security offenses."

In the wide-ranging talk with Channel 12, Argaman detailed some of the disagreements he had with Netanyahu during his tenure as Shin Bet chief from 2016 to 2021, particularly surrounding the matter of Qatar
...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi...

It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. Strip.

"It’s quite clear that I have a great deal of knowledge, which I can put to use... but I’m currently keeping everything that happened between myself and the prime minister" out of the public sphere, Argaman said.

However,
some men learn by reading. A few learn by observation. The rest have to pee on the electric fence for themselves...
"If the State of Israel or if I conclude that the prime minister has decided that he is going to act in contradiction to the law, then I will not have a choice and I will say everything I know and have refrained from saying until today," he warned.

Netanyahu quickly hit back at Argaman, accusing him of blackmail in a statement posted to X.

"Tonight, another dangerous red line was crossed for Israeli democracy," the premier said Thursday evening. "Never, in the entire history of Israel, and the history of democracy, has the former head of a security service blackmailed a sitting prime minister on live television."

Netanyahu then lodged the same "blackmail" accusation against current Shin Bet head Ronen Bar. He offered limited detail to explain the claim but claimed the Shin Bet chief held a series of off-record briefings with certain news hounds in recent days in order to tarnish the premier.

Bar’s agency, in turn, issued a statement responding to Netanyahu saying the accusation against Bar was a "serious allegation against the head of state organization."

It added that the Shin Bet chief "devotes all of his time to security matters, efforts to recover the hostages and the defense of democracy. Any statement to the contrary is devoid of any truth."

Netanyahu is widely reported to have been working for months to try and oust Bar, as he seeks to place the blame for the failures that allowed for Hamas
..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,...
’s October 7, 2023, onslaught to unfold solely on the security echelon, as opposed to the politicianship.

Bar is said to be pushing back against the effort to oust him, fearing that acquiescence would allow Netanyahu to appoint a loyalist in his stead. Bar has refused to step down
...Hell no! The money's too good!...
despite his agency’s probe into October 7 finding failures by his agency, with him and Netanyahu trading increasingly public barbs.

The effort to fire Bar has been complicated in recent weeks, amid the launch of a joint Shin Bet-police investigation into alleged ties between several of Netanyahu’s aides and the Qatari government. For the prime minister to fire Bar while the investigation is ongoing would likely be perceived as a conflict of interest.

Current Shin Bet head rejects PM’s blackmail accusations, distances himself from predecessor

[IsraelTimes] Bar says security body and its head ‘do not use the organization’s power unnecessarily’ as he apparently rejects Argaman’s denouncement and threats against Netanyahu

Houston police will call ICE for administrative warrants
[TEXASTRIBUNE.ORG] Houston
...a city in Texas, named after Sam Houston, who would drop deader than he is now if he could see how it turned out...
police are being instructed to call federal immigration authorities if they come across an individual who has deportation orders listed in the national crime database.

The new guidance to law enforcement in Texas' largest city comes after the U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officials added 700,000 individuals with deportation orders to the National Crime Information Center database, which is used widely by local law enforcement across the country to track warrants, missing persons, stolen property and other criminal records.
Underlining the opposite priority of the Biden-Harris administration, which hid that information from those trying to enforce the law.
The Houston Chronicle first reported on the guidance Friday, citing an email from Executive Chief Thomas Hardin. According to the Chronicle, the email said officers must call federal authorities when they discover a hit in the federal system. Hardin told officers to consult with federal authorities on how to handle the situation, including remaining at the scene for ICE to arrive.

"If that is not feasible or offered, our officers will select whatever option does not involve transporting the individual," Hardin wrote in the email, according to the Chronicle.

The updated guidance comes after Houston police recently called ICE on an undocumented immigrant motorist after stopping him for a cracked windshield, bringing renewed attention to local law enforcement's involvement in immigration enforcement.

There are more than 1.4 million people with active deportation orders across the country.

ICE's inclusion of individuals with deportation orders to the crime database broadens the ability for local law enforcement to identify undocumented immigrants colonists. Previously, local law enforcement across the country did not have access to such administrative warrants.

''We've never seen ICE detainers before. They were just never in our system,'' Doug Griffith, spokesperson for the Houston Police Officers' Union, told The Houston Landing on Friday. ''Now the feds have put that into the system. So if we stop somebody and they show an ICE detainer, we have to contact ICE or whatever agency they have the warrant out of.''

Europe predicts a coup d'etat in Ukraine
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited
[Regnum] Pressure on the head of the Kiev regime, Volodymyr Zelensky, after his statements about the "successful" operation in the Kursk region could lead to a coup d'etat. This is the conclusion reached by Glenn Diesen, a professor at the University of South-Eastern Norway.
Clearly the Regnum reporter went professor shopping until he found someone to give the preplanned quote.
"Since the military conflict has been lost, the statements are becoming increasingly absurd. The pressure on Zelensky is now increasing," Professor X wrote on social media.

According to him, a coup d'etat may soon occur in Ukraine.

As reported by Regnum News Agency , Zelensky had previously stated that the situation in Kursk Oblast was very difficult for the Ukrainian Armed Forces, but that the Ukrainian army had fulfilled its mission. On March 14, the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova, commented on the statements of the head of the Kiev regime on this matter. The diplomat asked what exactly Kiev's mission was: to kill civilians, bury more Ukrainians, and hand over the remaining Ukrainians.

Associate Professor of the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, Director of the Center for Political Analysis, member of the Public Chamber of Moscow Pavel Danilin believes that a coup d'etat in Ukraine is possible. At the same time, it is unlikely that the country's former Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko will be the one they will rely on and appoint instead of Zelensky.

The probability of overthrowing the head of the Kiev regime will be higher if there are sane forces in Ukraine who understand that he led Ukraine into the abyss, the political scientist explained. He specified that Zelensky's fate may well correspond to the fate of Vietnamese leader Ngo Dinh Diem, who was handed over by CIA officers when he was no longer needed.

On March 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin visited one of the command posts of the Kursk group of the Russian Armed Forces. Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, Army General Valery Gerasimov, reported to the commander-in-chief that more than 86% of the territory previously captured by the Ukrainian Armed Forces had been liberated, and the Ukrainian group in the region was surrounded and isolated.

The Russian leader ordered that the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region be completely defeated and the region be completely liberated as soon as possible , and that a security zone be considered in the Sumy region.

Rescued from Sudzha: the occupiers took everything, even panties and bras
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Marina Akhmedova

[REGNUM] Valentina Glushchenko was evacuated from the Sudzhansky district after the successful actions of our armed forces, clearing the Kursk region of the enemy.

Valentina Vasilievna told the editor-in-chief of the Regnum news agency, Marina Akhmedova , about how she survived the occupation.

— Valentina Vasilievna, how did you find out about the beginning of the Ukrainian invasion?

— I didn’t even know the war had started. Everyone had left, and I was left alone with my 94-year-old mother. After a stroke, she couldn’t speak. She died on November 8. I buried her right next to her house.

Of course, my neighbors helped me, but I mostly did everything myself. When the VSSU looted the stores, we also stole food and water from there.

— Did you see the VSEU members in person?

- Of course. They went door to door. Once they brought a journalist with them, who asked how I felt about Putin. I asked in response: "And what do you think of Zelensky?" He looked at me and said that he had a good attitude and supported him. I said: "I am for peace and a speedy end to the war. I will not tell you anything else."

— Were you scared at that moment?

— I'm so old that I'm not afraid of anything anymore.

It was scary when they pointed a machine gun at me and said, "Grandma, sit quietly." They were breaking down doors, going into apartments and robbing everything there was. I lived on the first floor, and they were going to go to the second. I said, "Guys, please don't go there, there's no one there anymore." But they still went up and completely cleaned out all four apartments. They took everything, right down to panties and bras. But they mostly wanted electronics.

That is, first they looted all the appliance stores, then clothing stores, then grocery stores, and then they went into people's apartments. They took some money and phones so that they wouldn't call. And then they immediately cut off all communication.

— When the VSSU officers entered these apartments, were they at least empty?

- Yes. People left. Many left before the war. There was also a young man living above me who signed a contract and went to the front, he has been there for three years already. As for the rest of the neighbors, I knew nothing at all. I only learned about the invasion from the VSSU.

— Were you shocked when the military came to you, and you realized that they were not ours, but Ukrainians?

- They said it like that: “We are Ukrainians.” I was so shocked that I couldn’t even talk to them normally.

I heard someone fiddling around in the entryway. I looked through the peephole and saw people in uniform: "Open the doors, or we'll shoot." I said: "I won't." "Open the doors, or I'll shoot." I opened them, what else could I do? If he had shot, I would have been hit. And I said: "I won't let you into the apartment. There's no one there except for my paralyzed mother."

And my mother was a very curious woman. She started shouting: "Who came there?"

I say, "There's no one here except Mom." I see the VSSU guys looking at me and smiling sarcastically. I couldn't understand why. And then I turned around and saw Mom standing behind me. I was hiding her, so that God forbid something would happen, and she came out herself.

The VSEU officers stood there for a while, then apologized and said: "Woman, don't worry. Write in paint on the doors that people live here. None of ours (Ukrainians) will touch you." I wrote it. Whoever wanted to, came in. I didn't close the door anymore, because it was useless: they would have broken the door down anyway.

When the Ukrainian Armed Forces completely occupied Sudzha, they went further to Martynovka. And what about us? They kept bombing and bombing. We hid in basements. Personally, I only stayed in the apartment because I couldn’t leave my mother. I had nothing to lose. No matter how you do it, death will find you anyway. Although there were families who sat in the basement for seven months and never came out into the light.

- And what did you eat?

— I'm telling you, we lived like under communism: we went to stores and bought what we needed. Canned goods, water, flour, pasta, crackers. The VSSU guys also helped — they gave us rations. At the same time, they didn't allow us to go further than 200 meters from home without a pass. I also registered with them to go get everything we needed.

By the way, they also helped with medicines. I ordered something from them for my mother, and they brought it straight to my home once. But mostly I went to get the medicines myself. I ordered and picked it up in three or four days.

In short, everyone lived in harmony.

And I was the only one left in our 16-apartment building. I remember these landings and bombings - I couldn't sleep. And on November 8, my mother died.

- And how did she die?

— She died quietly. I fed her in the morning. Then at lunchtime I came to her bed and asked: “Mom, can I bring you some water? If you understand me, blink,” — she couldn’t even blink. She fell to the floor. I picked her up, put her on the sofa, then fell again. I saw that she was getting cold, her nails were turning blue. That’s how she died.

There was a young man sitting near the house. I asked him to help. He quickly gathered some lads to help bury her. But there was no coffin. And they wouldn't let us into the cemetery because there were troops there. They found a bag and buried her right in front of the windows of her house in the garden. When peacetime comes, she will have to be reburied.

- Sudzha has already been released.

- Who said that?

— Ministry of Defense.

— The Ministry of Defense? (cries). They say so much that the Koreans have come… Somewhere around the 8th or 10th, I went outside to collect dry firewood near the entrance. I see the military coming.

— Did you think they were Ukrainians?

— Personally, the Ukrainians didn’t touch me.

— Did they touch anyone?

— They touched and touched. Mainly men. Let's say they were walking down the street and saw a passerby. If they didn't like someone, they would start teasing him, to get the man worked up. And then they spread a rumor that when they retreated, they would shoot everyone: both young men and grown men.

— Are there many men left?

- About one hundred and fifty.

- My God, what their mothers must have felt at that moment.

— And what can mothers feel when they can't do anything? They shot people in Russkoye Porechny — 17 people. Both men and women (the women were raped). It seems like these VSSU officers are about to be tried.

- But this won’t bring people back to life.

- Of course. It was very scary. You go outside and think: "I guess I should run home." Because at home, at least the walls will save you. My apartment is kind of inside, surrounded on all sides.

In short, I buried my mother, and there was no reason for me to stay. Then one of my friends said: "Valentina Vasilievna, get ready, we won't disturb you." He had a large farm with cows, he abandoned it. He took his wife, son, took me and brought here.

- And how did you leave?

— Our Ministry of Emergency Situations took us away.

- So ours went there?

- Yes.

— Let me clarify. You said that you saw soldiers on the 8th. Who were they?

— They were scouts, grimy-grimy. It turned out that they were the same ones who came out of the pipe. I didn't know, because there was no Internet. And they took away phones.

— Did they take away all the phones?

- Yes. But I hid mine. I said: "Please, look. Whatever you take is yours." Then one of the VSEU guys, who was in charge, said: "Zinochka, don't be afraid, we won't touch you. But you don't have to show off in front of us, because we have different people." After all, there were mercenaries on their side - both English and Poles.

They especially recommended that girls not dress brightly and not stick their heads out. There was also a case when girls went to get water, and a grenade was dropped on them from a drone and they were wounded. One of them was taken to Sumy, I don’t know about the other one.

So, our guys came, said hello, and said, "We're ours." But I didn't immediately notice that they had red armbands. I had been through a lot of stress. And there was this young guy there, he looked about 20. I started crying.

I ask: "What's your name?" "Dima." Where are you from? "From the Tambov region." He later helped me fix the glass.

I walk, cry, and mentally talk to my mother. He says: "Don't cry, we'll help you now." I say: "Dimochka, let me at least feed you some cookies." Then he looks and says: "Grandma, the "birdie" is flying." I won't run and hide from him. He shouted: "At least press yourself against the wall."

Everything seemed to be all right. I said, let me at least give you some tea. “It’s not allowed. We have everything. Why rob civilians.” Although I didn’t feel sorry for them.

Then I finally got them some cookies and candy. I said, "Son, at least for my mother's sake, remember her." He took them, thanked me, and told me not to say that I saw them.

- You called this intelligence officer your son. Have you ever called Ukrainians sons?

— I did. When the Ukrainian Armed Forces entered Sudzha on August 9, they assigned two patrolmen to us. They were two boys, Ivan and Kostya. One from Kremenchuk, the other from Poltava. One day I went out into the yard, and they asked: "Titochko, do you need some bread or water?" I said: "Oh, my son, who would refuse bread and water." So 10-15 minutes later they brought me two bottles of water and bread.

I say: "Maybe you need something too?" "No, no." Then Vanya comes up and says: "Grandma Valya, if possible, boil some hot potatoes for us." And I boiled them on the fire, because there was no stove. I went to the garden, dug up some young potatoes, picked some tomatoes and boiled soup for them.

“Wow, at least we’ll eat properly. Otherwise, the soldier’s everything is dry.”

They often helped me. They would get a gas canister or something else. I am grateful to them.

— Did you consider them more like your own or more like enemies?

- I took them calmly. They were like children to me. Then they had a rotation and were sent home.

— Did you expect our people to come?

- Of course, I waited. It's just that until our people arrived, I had to live somehow.

- Why did you wait for our people if the VSSU officers didn’t offend you?

— How could we not wait? We are all living people. And I felt sorry for the VSEU guys: they are young people. It is not their fault that they were sent here. And our guys are young too. That same Dima from Tambov is only 21 years old.

I repeat, no one has offended me. Neither from this side nor from that side. True, there were gangs that robbed apartments, stole cars and raped girls. And why rape me? I am already an old man.

— And then what happened to these girls?

— I don’t know. They said that someone was taken to Sumy. They also said that a couple of young guys were taken to Yunakovka (the logistics hub of the invasion group in Sumy Oblast. — Ed.) and forced to dig trenches, and then shot. But I didn’t see it myself.

— Were there girls you knew personally who then disappeared? How do you even know about rapes?

— There were none. It was just that among the neighbors who lived on the same street as me, there were such conversations. “There was a girl living in that house, they took her away, she never came back.”

- Why didn't she leave Sudzha right away? Didn't have time?

- Probably, yes. Sudzha was immediately surrounded. A mouse couldn't slip through there.

For example, I had a neighbor Galina Yuryevna, may she rest in peace. She was a stubborn woman. She came to Sudzha from Kursk to visit her husband at the cemetery. When the children tried to leave for her, Sudzha was already surrounded. I looked after her. She was a living person.

— What did she die of?

— When the boarding school in Sudzha was hit, she was cut by shrapnel. There were no doctors, and she bled to death. She was buried somewhere there. They say that fifteen old people died near the boarding school. The boarding school was mostly bedridden. Some were taken to Sumy, some stayed there. I didn’t go there much, because they brought me food and medicine.

Then a woman contacted me, a social worker who was responsible for our street before the war. She said that she had been evacuated to Tula. She started asking how we were doing here. I said, "Galina Yuryevna is gone. And this one is gone, and that grandfather is gone too." Come to me in Tula, she said. I refused. What would I do there?

— And yet, what is the difference between ours and not ours?

— During the occupation, there was no way to go anywhere peacefully. Men were insulted, girls were raped. I can even say that in this building there is a 74-year-old woman who was raped. There was a gangbang there. I don’t know how she got away from them.

— How could a 74-year-old woman be raped?

- What difference does it make to them - 17 or 74? They are beasts. There are people you wouldn't even think are like that. They look normal, but what's going on in their heads is unclear. They are all stoned and high.

Then, when our people arrived, my friend told me to pack up and leave. Although he had a family of seven, he still came to me. I took a minimum of things and a package of medicines. I came here in what I was wearing. At first they said they would bring me to Kursk, but in the end they brought me here.

- That's good. There are flights to Kursk, and it's calmer here.

— I know. I have the Internet now, I read the news. The first night we spent here, I couldn't sleep because my nerves were on edge. The siren started howling, I started shaking, we didn't have sirens there. It turned out that a drone had flown by. They said it would be quiet here. But here it was the same.

Oh well. Two deaths are not allowed, one is inevitable. I have already been in accidents and during occupations. It is hard to remember. And now I need to collect documents. Mom died, and the hospital was destroyed. I don’t even know if Sudzha will be rebuilt.

- I think it will be restored first. It is a symbol.

- How? The Ukrainians stole all the equipment and cleared out all the construction bases.

- They are "poor and unfortunate". They need it more. Let them at least take it from us.

— Once I came to the store. Two police officers came in. I was scared because I was alone there, usually two or three of us with our neighbors went. They said: “Titochko, don’t be afraid of us. Take what you need.” I said: “And the payment? Through the cash register?” And I laughed out of fear. They laughed too. They were nice young people.

Then I came to the "Estate" for saucepans. I met those two again. There were two other VSSU officers with them. They said: "Oh, this is the second time we've met. What are you looking for here? There's nothing left to take." I said: "I need a saucepan." "What do you cook on?" I answered: "Guys, if you have a gas canister, give me some. And some cigarettes, too, if possible." "Are you smoking?" "That's not for me, it's for my man. More precisely, my ex. We lived together for 50 years, then he cheated on me with a younger woman."

— Did you come up with this?

- Yes, out of fear. And they believed.

- Why do you need cigarettes?

— For the guy who helped me with milk or firewood, he lived on a parallel street. There was no money, it was barter. And he admitted that at first he didn’t want to give me milk, but then he realized that I was a normal woman who was taking care of her sick mother. He had buried his mother at one time, too. He helped everyone. He even slaughtered his heifer to give the meat to everyone. It was he who brought me here later. I said, “Why? You have your own family.” “No, we are like family now.”

- What will you do next?

— Once, while sitting here, I went to watch the news. I saw my grandfather looking at me. He said: "Vasilievna, are you here? And we searched for you together with the head of the district." They brought the head of the district, he promised to take care of me. They got the prosecutor's office and other authorities involved to collect documents for my mother's funeral and receiving benefits. One-time payments have already been transferred.

Disposal of satellites. Will Kyiv repeat the fate of Saigon and Kabul
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
by Artemy Sharapov

[REGNUM] In just one week, the new White House team has changed its attitude towards its junior partners from Kiev twice. For now, the Donald Trump administration has changed its anger to mercy, once again “opening the tap” of arms and intelligence supplies. But many things now indicate that the presumption of impunity for the current Kiev regime no longer works. It seems that military support will be provided only for “defensive purposes.” Speeches about support until the “complete liberation of Ukraine” have been put on the back burner.

This somersault in Washington-Kiev relations has caused a stir in the world. Thus, the example of Ukraine was used in his recent address by the official representative of the Ansar Allah movement (an organization of Yemeni Houthis), Yahya Sari, addressing Saudi Arabia, which is in conflict with the Houthis. "Learn a lesson from the fate of Ukraine and do not rely on the United States," Sari warned, implying that in the future the United States may leave not only Kiev without support, but also its partners in the Middle East.

However, the example of Ukraine is not something special. On the contrary, over the past decades, the United States has proven itself to be a very unreliable ally. And if tomorrow the States demand, for example, the resignation of Volodymyr Zelensky or even his arrest, there is nothing surprising about it. Because Washington does not like "junior partners" who start to think too much about themselves.

THE GENERALISSIMO WHO WAS LUCKY
The Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941, led to the United States entering World War II. At first, the United States did not intervene in the European theater of war, focusing its efforts entirely on the war in Asia. Here, America decided to rely on the government of the Republic of China, led by the nationalist Kuomintang party under Generalissimo Chiang Kai-shek.

At one time, Chiang Kai-shek had established himself as a consistent anti-communist, and his armed forces were waging war against the Japanese army. Therefore, the United States launched a program of supplying weapons to the National Revolutionary Army of the Kuomintang and training officers. With the end of World War II and the deterioration of relations between the former allies of the United States and the USSR, the United States placed a special bet on Chiang Kai-shek, seeking to prevent the communist Mao Zedong from coming to power in China.

In 1946, a mission of American military advisers was deployed in China. The United States armed and trained more than 500,000 soldiers and officers of Chiang Kai-shek's army.

The Pentagon provided the Kuomintang with thousands of tanks, fighter jets, and even strategic bombers, often piloted by American pilots in Chinese uniforms. According to official data, the cost of American aid to Chiang Kai-shek’s government from 1946 to 1949 is estimated at $4.4 billion — a monstrous sum at the time, equivalent to $72 billion today (for comparison, the volume of US military aid to Ukraine during Joe Biden’s entire presidency was $62 billion).

The Chiang Kai-shek regime sanctioned the establishment of American military bases on Chinese territory, including on the island of Taiwan.

However, the Communists ultimately won the Chinese Civil War. Why did this happen? On the one hand, the answer is obvious: the Communists turned out to be better soldiers than the Kuomintang. But the conflict between the Generalissimo and the United States is also cited as one of the reasons for Chiang Kai-shek's fall.

By 1947, the Chinese leader realized that he was being relegated to a secondary role in the global confrontation with the USSR. Washington practically demanded that command over the Chinese troops be handed over to the American military. Chiang Kai-shek tried to argue with his senior partners and paid the price. The US government was not impressed by the junior partners' demarche and began to recall its advisers from China, and the civil war front predictably collapsed. In 1949, Chiang Kai-shek's government was forced to flee to Taiwan.

At the same time, US President Harry Truman publicly stated on January 5, 1950 that American troops would not intervene if the Chinese communists decided to land on Taiwan to finally defeat the Kuomintang forces. Washington decided to reconsider its attitude to the situation only because of the outbreak of the Korean War. The US Navy's Seventh Fleet was sent to the Taiwan Strait, which essentially saved Chiang Kai-shek, who later headed the "Chinese Republic" until 1975.

ELIMINATING THE UNRELIABLE LEE SEUNG
Less fortunate was another friend of the United States, the first president of South Korea, Lee Seung-man.

He took over the Republic of Korea in 1949. With what was essentially dictatorial powers, the president suppressed the communist opposition and sanctioned the deployment of a group of American “instructors” in the country. At first, there was talk of 200–300 American troops, but at its peak, the American contingent numbered 30–50 thousand people. Despite the fact that the United States supported South Korea in the war against the DPRK, directly intervening in the conflict, Seoul gained nothing from this support.

Syngman Rhee's attempts to pursue an independent policy led to the United States accusing the president of political repression (which had previously been overlooked) in 1960. Then, externally initiated events began in the country, known as the "April Revolution". Syngman Rhee was overthrown and fled the country.

However, the most obvious example of US cynicism in foreign policy is, of course, South Vietnam.

"THE US HAS NO ESTABLISHED POINT OF VIEW"
In 1954, local politician Ngo Dinh Diem became the first president of the Republic of Vietnam. As in China and Korea before that, in Vietnam the United States primarily focused on training local armed forces to confront the communists. American advisers implemented a program to create a Vietnamese army of 100,000 troops and 150,000 reservists. By the end of 1955, the number of American military advisers in the South Vietnamese army reached 350 people. By 1960, the mission of American advisers increased to 700 people, and a year later, South Vietnam became the largest recipient of American military aid.

In particular, the United States provided the Vietnamese army with hundreds of military aircraft and helicopters, making the Air Force of the Republic of Vietnam the sixth in the world in terms of the number of modern aircraft. In 1962, the authorized strength of the South Vietnamese army was again increased to 200,000 people.

But Ngo Dinh Diem turned out to be too inconvenient a figure for the United States. The president sought to pursue an independent policy for the country and, worst of all, proposed to resolve the conflict with communist North Vietnam by political means. Therefore, the United States decided to support one of the president’s opponents, General Duong Vang Minh. On the morning of November 1, 1963, a military coup took place in Saigon (now Ho Chi Minh City). Rebel soldiers surrounded the government residence. Ngo Dinh Diem managed to call the American embassy and ask for help. In response, the ambassador stated that “it is now 4:30 a.m. in Washington and the U.S. government has not yet formed a point of view on this issue.” The president tried to escape, but was arrested and killed.

The subsequent decade of South Vietnam's history was marked by a series of military coups that took place with the direct participation of the United States. Ultimately, the state, which had become a direct puppet of Washington, was unable to cope with the ideologically motivated communists. In March 1975, the Republic of Vietnam ceased to exist.

The list of politicians "written off" by the United States includes, for example, the President of the Philippines Ferdinand Marcos, who started out as the "best friend of the United States" and was then overthrown as a result of the "color revolution" in 1986. The United States did not help either the Cuban dictator Fulgencio Batista or the Iranian Shah Mohammed Reza Pahlavi - one was overthrown by Fidel Castro's guerrillas in 1959, the other - during the Islamic Revolution of 1979. But these are old stories. Surely, it is impossible for the United States to abandon its allies in the 21st century?

DOGS MORE IMPORTANT THAN AFGHAN DEMOCRACY
Here, the very recent events in Afghanistan come to mind. It all started out quite standardly. In 2001, the United States launched Operation Enduring Freedom, which ended with the fall of the Taliban government* and the creation of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan, de facto under an American protectorate. A large group of the US army was deployed in Afghanistan, and the Americans also actively approached the formation of local armed forces. By 2020, the number of armed forces in Afghanistan was estimated at 200 thousand people.

The US paid for the production and delivery of about a hundred Mi-8/17 helicopters, and also transferred dozens of UH-60 and MD-530F helicopters to the Afghan Air Force. Throughout the operation in Afghanistan, Washington emphasized the importance of cooperation with Kabul in the field of security and the fight against terrorism. Films and commercials were shot glorifying American support for the Afghan people.

However, circumstances then changed and the US decided that it was no longer worth supporting its dear allies. In February 2020, an agreement was reached between the US government and the Taliban*, under which Washington committed to withdrawing its troops from the country by May 1, 2021.

The events that followed became widely known thanks to media coverage and social media. The withdrawal of American troops led to the collapse of the Afghan government of Ashraf Ghani, who, however, managed to escape from Kabul in time. But the thousands of ordinary Afghans who had worked for the US military for many years were less fortunate - there was not even a place for them on American military aircraft. Instead, the Pentagon flew out service dogs. Subsequently, a wave of murders and reprisals against former military personnel swept across Afghanistan, primarily special forces officers who were most closely associated with the US.

Although the US has not abandoned its support for Ukraine, it is becoming obvious that Washington will no longer invest in the "promotion" of the Ukrainian Armed Forces. The wording "maintain defense capability" translated from American means "not to let it finally fold." At the same time, historical practice shows that the leader of the country, who was yesterday the best friend and partner, tomorrow can be forgotten, written off or simply shot.

On the other hand, experience also shows that active military cooperation with the United States does not always guarantee victory in a confrontation with external enemies. And even on the contrary: today's successes achieved with American weapons may turn into betrayal and defeat tomorrow.

Trump Invokes Alien Enemies Act for Gang Deportations, Judge Intervenes / X
[X] On March 15, 2025, President Donald Trump
...dictatorial for repealing some (but not all) of the diktats of his predecessor, misogynistic because he likes pretty girls, homophobic because he doesn't think gender bending should be mandatory, truly a man for all seasons...
invoked the Alien Enemies Act of 1798 to address what he described as an invasion by the Venezuela

...a country in Central America that sits on an enormous pool of oil. Formerly the most prospereous country in the region, it became infested with Commies sniffing almost unlimited wealth. It turned out the wealth wasn't unlimited, the economy collapsed under the clownish Hugo Chavez, the murder rate exceeded places like Honduras and El Salvador. A significant proportion of the populace refugeed to Colombia and points south...

This action was quickly met with legal challenges; a federal judge issued a temporary restraining order, preventing the deportation of five Venezuelan nationals, set for review in a hearing two days later. #3  IIRC the TdA gang is now officially a foreign terrorist organization. Getting close close to aiding and abetting an enemy engaged in war.

Brother of crime boss Sukhumsky shot dead in Tbilisi
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] Levan Jangveladze,
…sometimes transliterated as Dzhangveladze
the brother of the influential businessman Merab Sukhumsky and a friend of the leader of the Taganskaya organized crime group Igor Zhirnokleev, was shot dead in the center of Tbilisi, Georgia. This was reported by the Mtavari TV channel.

"Last night, Levan Jangveladze, the brother of the thief in law
vor v zakone or made men of the Russian mafia. The U.S. Treasury Department's Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) describes the Thieves-In-Law as "a Eurasian crime syndicate that has been linked to a long list of illicit activity across the globe”…
Merab Jangveladze, was killed. He was shot several times at a pedestrian crossing on Chavchavadze Avenue. <…> As a result of the incident, one passerby, who was hit by a bullet "blindly", received minor injuries," the local TV channel reports.

As specified by the Telegram channel Shot, the killer waited for 60-year-old Dzhangveladze for some time near a restaurant on Chavchavadze Street and fired at least nine bullets, after which he fled the scene. According to preliminary data, the murder may be connected with a conflict between Dzhangveladze and another criminal authority Shakro Molodoy.

The shooter has not yet been detained, he is wanted. The Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs is investigating all the circumstances of the incident.

It is known that Levan Dzhangveladze participated in all the criminal affairs of his brother, Merab Sukhumsky. In particular, he was involved in running his legal business and owned three printing houses in Moscow. In the criminal world, his name was associated with the liquidation of Yaponchik and Ded.

The confrontation between Shakro Molodoy (Zakhariy Kalashov) and Merab has lasted for more than a decade. Once upon a time, thieves in law close to Merab crippled Kalashov's nephew, Dato Krasnodarsky. Since then, the conflict between their clans and the dispute over leadership in the criminal world sometimes subsides, sometimes flares up again.

As previously reported by the Regnum news agency, the Meshchansky Court of Moscow had previously arrested the nephew of the crime boss Kalashov under the article on attempted murder. In December 2024, Vitaly Kalashov stabbed one of two drunk men during a fight. He then fled the scene of the attack, and the victim was hospitalized.

Nine Palestinians massacred in Zionist attack on northern Gaza
[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] At least nine Paleostinians were martyred and several others were maimed on Saturday in an Israeli attack on Beit Lahia in northern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
, in a new violation of the ceasefire agreement.

Local source said that Israeli drones targeted two vehicles that the victims were travelling in as they were trying to document the humanitarian relief effort in Beit Lahia.

In a brief statement, the Ministry of Health reported that nine bodies of deaders and a number of injuries, including serious cases, were transferred to the Indonesian Hospital in the northern Gaza Strip.

Local sources said an Israeli drone struck a car at the al-Attar junction in the town of Beit Lahia in the northern Gaza Strip.

Press sources reported that most of the deaders were humanitarian and relief workers, and included four journalists, adding that the shelling targeted a vehicle of al-Khair International Foundation while they were sheltering displaced people in Beit Lahia.

Meanwhile,
...back at the Hubba Hubba Club, Big Shirley was still trying to snatch Nunzio bald-headed. She was already halfway there...
a Paleostinian was maimed at the hands of Israeli occupation forces stationed in Tal al-Sultan neighborhood, west of Rafah city, in southern Gaza Strip.

On Friday, 4 citizens were martyred in Israeli shelling in the Zeitoun neighborhood, south of Gaza City. A fisherman was martyred in northwest of Gaza City, and six civilians, including two women, were maimed in an Israeli shelling that targeted eastern and central Rafah city, south of Gaza Strip.

The Israeli perspective, from the Times of Israel:
Israel says it targeted terror operatives in Strip, while Palestinians say aid workers, journalists among dead.

At least nine people were killed in Israeli airstrikes in northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya on Saturday, Palestinian media reported. The Shehab news agency cited the Palestinian Journalists Protection Center (PJPC) as saying that three journalists were among the dead.

The IDF confirmed carrying out the strikes, saying it targeted terror operatives “that posed a threat to IDF troops in the area.”

In Gaza, medics said the strike hit a car, with several people critically injured and casualties inside and outside the vehicle. Witnesses told Reuters that the people in the car were with the Al-Khair Foundation in Beit Lahiya, and that they were accompanied by journalists and photographers at the time of the strike.

The IDF has said in the past that the Al-Khair Foundation, a Muslim non-profit based in Britain and Turkey, is an aid group that transfers funds to terror groups in Gaza “under the guise of humanitarian activity” and that the organization has employed at least one senior Hamas official.
Ah hah!
The IDF said it identified “two terrorists operating a drone that posed a threat to IDF troops in the area.” The two operatives were targeted in a strike, and a short while later, “a number of additional terrorists collected the drone operating equipment and entered a vehicle,” the military said.

The group of operatives that had collected the equipment was targeted in a second strike, the IDF added. One of those killed in the strike was named by Palestinian reports as Mahmoud Isleem, a drone photographer who has worked for Turkey’s Anadolu news agency.

In a statement, the Hamas terror group said the strikes were a “blatant violation” of the ceasefire.

Earlier Saturday, the IDF said it carried out a strike against three terror operatives who were spotted trying to plant bombs in the ground in the Netzarim Corridor area of the central Gaza Strip, close to where troops were operating.

Israeli forces are still deployed to a buffer zone along the Gaza border amid the ceasefire, and the IDF has repeatedly warned Palestinians against approaching the area.
More from the Times of Israel
The IDF details the identities of six Palestinian terror operatives it says were killed in airstrikes in northern Gaza’s Beit Lahiya yesterday, including a terrorist who participated in the October 7 onslaught.

According to Palestinian media, the strikes killed nine, including journalists.

The IDF says that a first strike targeted two operatives using a drone to advance attacks on troops in Gaza.

“Based on intelligence information regarding the terror activity in the area, it was determined that the drone was in constant use by the Palestinian Islamic Jihad organisation, including during its use [on Saturday],” the IDF says.

A second strike was carried out against another group of operatives who collected the drone equipment, according to the military.

The IDF says the strikes killed “several terrorists, including terrorists who were operating under the guise of journalists.”

They are named by the IDF as: Mustafa Mohammed Shaaban Hamed, a Hamas terrorist who invaded Israel on October 7, 2023; Mahmoud Yahya Rashdi as-Saraj, a member of Hamas’s engineering forces; Bilal Mahmood Fuad Abu Matar, a Hamas operative operating under the guise of a photographer; Mahmoud Imad Hassan Isleem, a member of Hamas’s Zeitoun Battalion, operating under the guise of a journalist; Suheib Bassem Khaled Najar, a Palestinian Islamic Jihad operative who was released in the recent hostage-ceasefire deal with Hamas; and Mohammed Alaa Suhbi al-Jafir, a Hamas operative.

The Biden Abuse of Presidential Power Continues-Hunter Just Fled to South Africa-with 18 Secret Service Agent Protection Detail
[NYPost] Hunter Biden fled last week to South Africa for a luxury vacation — with round-the-clock Secret Service protection — avoiding a grueling deposition scheduled for this week in a California lawsuit.

California District Court Judge Herman Vera granted Hunter’s motion to dismiss the case Thursday after the former first son claimed he was too broke to continue suing former Trump staffer Garrett Ziegler and his nonprofit Marco Polo.

But photographs show Hunter was already in Cape Town the day the case was dismissed, staying in a $500-a-night beachfront villa described on its website as an “ultra-luxurious designer home with spectacular 180 degrees unobstructed views of the sea.”

Ziegler’s lawyers alleged to the court last week that Hunter had fled to South Africa to potentially “avoid his deposition in this case,” which was set for this week, after originally being planned for February.

“He was in South Africa before the judge even decided the case,” Ziegler said Friday. “That means he is assuming his daddy’s appointee is gonna rubber stamp what he wants.”

Hunter and his South African-born wife Melissa Cohen were spotted walking around the high-end shopping district of Cape Town with their Secret Service detail this week in photos provided to The Post by independent reporter Laura Loomer.

$200,000 IN LEGAL COSTS
Ziegler will include the images in his next court filing seeking $200,000 in legal costs incurred after Hunter sued over him over Marco Polo’s digitized version of his notorious “laptop from hell.”

The scandal-prone 55-year-old son of Joe Biden does not qualify for statutory Secret Service protection, which only applies to former presidents’ children aged under 16, per the Former Presidents Protection Act (codified in 18 USC, Section 3056).

But Biden issued an executive memorandum before he left the presidency indefinitely extending Secret Service protection for his son, according to Trump administration sources.

OUTRAGE AT EXPENSES
“While we can’t comment on the specifics of our protective means and methods, we can confirm Mr. Biden is an authorized protectee of the US Secret Service,” Secret Service spokesman Anthony Guglielmi told The Post on Friday.

Guglielmi would not confirm that 18 Secret Service agents have traveled to Cape Town with Hunter. But he said, “Our agents are trained, authorized and mandated by federal law to provide security anywhere in the world for individuals under our protection.”

The cost to the taxpayer potentially would be a half-million dollars, at a time when the Secret Service is stretched thin.

President Trump extended Secret Service protection to his four adult children for six months after he left office in 2021, prompting heavy criticism from Democrats and media outlets who complained about the estimated cost of $1.7 million.

#1  Why is Hunter entitled to a SS detail? At least make them DEI hires.

#2  It sounds like the auto pen operator signed Hunter up for protection prior to abandoning his/her/their cubicle.

#4  Too poor to continue his law suit, but not too poor to buy a plane ticket... or did I pay for that, too?

#5  $15,000 a month waterfront villa-who is picking up the tab for that and why? Hiding in a BRICS country allows him to receive funding with no US government oversight on financial transactions. Curious, no? When the USSS detail gets pulled, will be interesting to see where his security comes from.

ICE Nabs MS-13 Gangbangers, Jamaican Murderer In Major Deportation Raid
[DAILYCALLER] Deportation officers apprehended gangbangers, sexual predators and a convicted murderer in a sweeping multi-agency sweep that oversaw the arrest of more than 200 illegal migrants colonists.

Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agents arrested 214 illegal migrants colonists in northern Virginia during an enhanced enforcement operation that targeted transnational organized crime and egregious criminal migrants colonists, according to the agency. The operation, which spanned the first two weeks of March, included a slate of federal agencies and state partners.

''Our communities in Virginia are safer today because our law enforcement officers stood between them and the danger,'' ICE Enforcement and Removal Operations Washington, D.C. Field Office Director Russ Hott said in a prepared statement. ''During this enforcement operation, ICE and our law enforcement partners targeted the most dangerous alien offenders in some of the most gang-infested neighborhoods in Northern Virginia, and this resulted in 214 arrests.''

Among those arrested include three MS-13 gang members, all of whom are living in the U.S. unlawfully and carry criminal histories, according to ICE. A Jamaican national previously convicted of second-degree murder and two other illegal migrants colonists previously convicted of sexual-related crimes were also among those taken into ICE custody.
