DNI went to India for intelligence meeting, landed hours after Hafiz Saeed’s nephew assassinated

FJ
@Natsecjeff
US Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard lands in New Delhi. On the same day when there's an annual intelligence meeting being held in the Indian capital. And hours after an incident in Pakistan where Hafiz Saeed's nephew was assassinated and there are some rumors about Saeed himself as well.

Very interesting things happening in South Asia.

What actually happened:
Hafiz Saeed's Close Aide, LeT Terrorist Abu Qatal Killed In Pakistan

[OneIndia] Close ally to Hafiz Saeed
...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat. He is periodically placed under house arrest so it looks like the govt is doing something. Once the heat is off they let him go....
and a wanted terrorist Abu Qatal
…that’s the nom de guerre of Faisal Nadeem, nephew of 11/26 attack mastermind Hafiz Saeed…
has been killed in Pakistain. According to the reports, Abu Qatal was criminal mastermind behind orchestrating terror operations against India, and was involved in the 2017 Reasi kaboom and the 2023 bus attack on pilgrims in Jammu and Kashmir
...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
Qatal's liquidation took place in Pakistain when two person or persons unknown shot him while he was traveling in his vehicle. This event concludes years of tracking by Indian authorities. Due to his active role in planning terror attacks, Qatal had been on India's most-wanted list for a long time.

ROLE IN TERROR ACTIVITIES
Qatal played a significant role in several high-profile attacks, including the 2017 Reasi kaboom targeting civilians. He was also behind the deadly attack on a bus near Shiv Khori temple on June 9, 2023, which resulted in multiple casualties. These incidents highlighted his influence in terror activities across Jammu and Kashmir.

A trusted aide of Hafiz Saeed, Qatal held the position of chief operational commander for Lashkar-e-Taiba
...the Army of the Pure, an Ahl-e-Hadith terror organization founded by Hafiz Saeed. LeT masquerades behind the Jamaat-ud-Dawa facade within Pakistain and periodically blows things up and kills people in India. Despite the fact that it is banned, always an interesting concept in Pakistain, the organization remains an blatant tool and perhaps an arm of the ISI...>
(LeT). Under his leadership, LeT continued executing numerous terror operations in Jammu and Kashmir. His expertise included coordinating attacks, recruiting terrorists, and conducting cross-border infiltration operations.

INVOLVEMENT IN RAJOURI AND DANGRI ATTACKS
Beyond Reasi attacks, Qatal was directly linked to other deadly operations. In January 2023, he played a pivotal role in terror strikes at Rajouri and Dangri, targeting civilians including children. These attacks resulted in numerous casualties and left the region reeling with fear.

The National Investigation Agency (NIA) included Qatal's name in its charge sheet for these attacks. On January 1, 2023, the Dangri village strike resulted in seven deaths, including two children. An IED blast followed this incident, causing serious injuries to others.

RECRUITMENT AND INFILTRATION OPERATIONS
NIA investigations revealed Qatal's direct involvement with LeT's recruitment and infiltration operations. He facilitated sending snuffies from Pakistain to Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on minority communities and security personnel as targets. His actions fueled ongoing violence and unrest in Kashmir.

Operating from Khureta launch pad in District Kotli of Pakistain-occupied Jammu and Kashmir (PoJK), Qatal was the self-styled commander of an important Lashkar-e-Taiba camp. Under his direction, this camp became a key epicenter for LeT's activities in Rajouri-Poonch sector.

LEADERSHIP ROLE
Qatal played a crucial role orchestrating major attacks within Rajouri-Poonch area. His involvement was confirmed after Nisar's arrest from Surankote Poonch regarding Bhatia Durian attack targeting an army vehicle in April 2023.

His deep-rooted network established during earlier operations allowed him to revive terror activities upon returning to Pakistain. As one of LeT's top commanders enjoying Hafiz Saeed's confidence; he reported directly to Sajid Jutt based out Rawalpindi.

The Intelligence Community 51: How CIA Contractors Colluded With The Biden Campaign to Mislead American Voters
[Intel Committee] The Committee on the Judiciary, its Select Subcommittee on the Weaponization of the Federal Government, and the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence have revealed how, in
the final weeks before the 2020 presidential election, 51 former intelligence officials coordinated with the Biden campaign to discredit serious allegations about Biden family influence peddling.

In issuing a public statement using their official titles, these former intelligence officials sought to cast an explosive New York Post story and Hunter Biden’s abandoned laptop as "Russian disinformation." President Biden even cited to the statement in a televised debate with President Trump shortly before the election to accuse President Trump of leveling false accusations. As a result, the explosive allegations about Biden family misconduct were buried and millions of Americans cast their votes for president without a full set of facts. The 51 former intelligence officials’ Hunter Biden statement was a blatant political operation from the start. It originated with a call from top Biden campaign official—and now
Secretary of State—Antony Blinken to former Deputy Central
Intelligence Agency (CIA) Director Michael Morell. The Committees’ investigation revealed that without this outreach from Blinken, Morell would not have written the statement.4 Indeed, Morell told the Committees that the Blinken phone call "triggered" his intent to write the statement.5 The statement’s drafters were open about the goal of the project: "[W]e think Trump will attack Biden on the issue at this week’s debate"6 and "we want to give the [Vice President] a talking point to use in response."

The details as revealed by the Committees to date are concerning enough, but as the Committees have continued to investigate the origins of the Hunter Biden statement, new information has come to light. Through newly obtained internal CIA emails and testimonial evidence, the Committees have uncovered more information on the extent to which the intelligence community was involved in the statement. Specifically, the evidence shows:

Father charged with attempting to ‘honor kill' daughter was only worried about his car while he was arrested: video
[NY Post] An Iraqi father charged with attempting to "honor kill" his teenage daughter outside her high school in Washington state appeared to care more about his car than his daughter as he was being arrested, new bodycam footage shows.

Ihsan Ali allegedly choked his 17-year-old daughter to the point of unconsciousness and punched her boyfriend in the face outside Timberline High School in Lacey in October because she refused to marry an older man in another country.

A chilling new video of the aftermath shows Ali yelling in Arabic to wife Zahraa Ali, who has also been charged, appearing concerned about police stealing their car as he’s being led by cops into the back of a cruiser in handcuffs.

"Zahraa, Zahraa, come here," he yells, according to a transcript of the arrest translated by the Daily Mail

He called to another daughter, Haneen, and his wife to "take the car from [police] and drive it away so they don’t steal it. They took the car! They’re going to steal it!"

Hi @elonmusk
,

Yesterday I had an informant infiltrate one of the protests at Tesla dealerships and they told her a few things:

1. These protests are only happening in contested congressional districts

2. They’re being funded by 501c4 charities being given dark money from Democrat politicians of these districts

3. They’re organized through facebook groups since 𝕏 is monitored by pro Elon people

Here is a copy of their prepared anti-Elon chants:

47 is better than 45
[Substack:Don Surber]
This time he is a politician who dodged a bullet. Literally.
Carmine Sabia reported on Saturday, “Former Democrat Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi has joined the chorus of Democrats criticizing Senate Minority Leader and New York Senator Charles Schumer for allowing the government to be funded by a Republican crafted continuing resolution.

“Pelosi, a California Democrat, did not mention her Senate counterpart by name, but she shredded the legislation and those who supported it in a post on X.”

Nancy’s was a lengthy post that is best read in a drunken, sobbing voice: “Democrat senators should listen to the women. Appropriations leaders Rosa DeLauro and Patty Murray have eloquently presented the case that we must have a better choice: a four-week funding extension to keep government open and negotiate a bipartisan agreement.”

DeLauro is an octogenarian punk rocker who dyes her hair black and blue. Murray’s beautician sticks a bowl over head and cuts whatever hair is sticking out. Say what you want about Jasmine Swivelhead but at least she knows what makeup is.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Man caught with enough fentanyl to wipe out a small city was previously LET OFF by Dem governor
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Washington man arrested on nearly a dozen drug and weapons charges was previously granted clemency by former Democratic Governor Jay Inslee in 2019, it has emerged.

Percy Levy, 54, was arrested Thursday during a traffic stop in Everett following a 16-month investigation by the Snohomish Regional Drug Task Force, as reported by the Lynwood Times.

Detectives later searched Levy's home where they made a shocking discovery - a massive drug haul including 556 grams of fentanyl - enough to kill approximately 278,000 people, according to the US Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA).

Despite his lengthy criminal history, former Governor Inslee granted Levy clemency in 2019, allowing him to walk free, as revealed by Fox News.

Detectives also found 2,818 grams of powder cocaine, 14.7 grams of rock cocaine, as well as a handgun when they searched his home. The bust also uncovered packaging material, and a digital scale signifying intent to distribute. Levy faced 11 Class B Felony charges, including unlawful possession of a firearm, possession of a stolen firearm and multiple counts of possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Levy, who is on the Board of the Black Lives Matter chapter, was held on a $1.5 million bond.

According to the outlet, Levy's criminal past dates back to when he was just 13 years old.

In 2002, he was arrested for a drug house robbery and subsequently spent 17 years behind bars.

In the six years following his release, Levy appeared to turn his life around, working as a community outreach specialist for the Washington Defender Association and founding Redemption Auto, a car dealership in Everett.

He also served as treasurer on the Board of the Black Lives Matter Seattle-King County chapter and reportedly dedicated himself to criminal justice reform.

In February, Inslee signed a law allowing Seattle to replace an exodus of police officers with illegal migrants.

Washington's largest city had just 913 cops to serve its 750,000 people after losing 725 officers in the last five years.

As a result, Its police department tweaked the rules to allow applications from migrants who crossed the border illegally as children and are registered on the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), or 'Dreamers', program. Inslee made it so they can be chosen above an equally qualified candidate if they speak more than one language.

In 2020, the Washington Governor dropped out of the presidential race. The then-68-year-old made fighting climate change the central theme of his short-lived presidential campaign.

'It's become clear I'm not going to carrying the ball. I'm not going to be President so I'm withdrawing from the race,' he said.

'I've been fighting climate change for 25 years and I've never been so confident of the ability of America ... to move the ball.

Government Corruption
Catherine Herridge: An internal FBI inclusivity Guide counseled agents on 'Ways to Manage Your Unconscious Bias'
[X] An internal FBI inclusivity "Guide," obtained by our team, counseled agents on "Ways to Manage Your Unconscious Bias," "Micro-Inequities" and "How to Improve Your Inclusive Intelligence."

"The New IQ: Your Guide to Sustaining Inclusive Habits in the Workplace" was shared in mid-2020 and includes nine "tips" to counter unconscious bias.

Separately, as part of our investigation, recently retired FBI agents said they saw, firsthand, how law enforcement capabilities were compromised because merit took a backseat to DEI priorities.

They dubbed the legendary FBI Quantico Training Academy the "Participation Academy" because of headquarters’ pressure to "push through" poorly performing candidates to meet DEI objectives.

The retired agents said FBI Director Patel inherits a workforce where standards dropped impacting physical fitness of agents, their firearms skills as well as professional qualifications, putting the FBI mission and safety at risk.

DEEP DIVE
More than a half dozen recently retired FBI agents agreed to speak with me on a confidential basis.

They said they feared retaliation for describing their experiences with the FBI’s DEI initiatives. While fiercely loyal to the bureau, they said they felt compelled to come forward, citing a dangerous reduction in standards.

The group of retired agents was diverse. It included male, female, Asian, Black and White agents from field offices in different parts of the country.

Their work experience covered multiple facets of the recruitment and training process. Everyone we spoke with offered a first hand account of DEI’s impact.

The retired agents told me they valued diversity because it could strengthen the FBI mission but in recent years FBI leadership took the attitude the bureau was "too White."

We were told that the physical fitness performance of candidates declined. The requirements include timed sit-ups (1 minute), timed 300-m sprint, untimed push-up maximum and timed 1.5-mile run.

The retired agents described recruits who had an ’attitude problem.’ The recruits would quit the long distance run or claim injuries if they thought they would not pass a requirement. The number of successfully completed push ups was routinely low because many recruits didn’t
have the skill or strength to follow the required protocol (i.e bad form, not low enough.)

What we learned about firearms training was also concerning. We were told some recruits lacked the "mental toughness" to competently handle weapons. Other candidates had documented mental health issues. While their performance was poor, there was a "push them through Quantico attitude."

The backbone of FBI investigations is a witness interview summary known as a "302." In some cases, new agents lacked basic writing skills to complete a 302, in part, because work experience requirements had been relaxed. Once poor performing recruits were "pushed through Quantico," the hope was that FBI Field Offices would fix them.

These retired FBI agents are solution oriented and respectfully asked if Director Patel would be willing to meet with them because they understand where the change needs to happen internally.

Describing how "woke broke the FBI," one of the agents shared the wrenching personal decision to discourage their child from following in their professional footsteps.

In response to our questions, FBI spokesman Ben Williamson said, "Director Patel’s new FBI will be an entirely mission focused institution — working every day to get criminals off our streets, keep the American people safe, and let good agents be good agents. We are aggressively working to abide by any Presidential directive to root out politically motivated, social engineering projects — they have zero home here and never will as long as Director Patel is at the helm."

Trump deploys US Navy destroyer with guided missiles to southern border for intriguing new mission
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Navy destroyer ship has been deployed to the southern border in an effort to bolster national security, amid President Trump's plan to 'reclaim the Panama Canal.'

The USS Gravely recently spent nine months in the thick of conflict in the Middle East, fighting off continuous assaults from Houthi rebels in the Red Sea.

But now the 509ft guided-missile destroyer is en route to the US southern border as President Trump ramps up security to fight what he describes as an 'invasion' of American territory and rampant drug cartels.

The ship, which carries dozens of Tomahawk cruise missiles, will be stationed in waters typically patrolled by the US Coast Guard. It will also operate in international waters.

According to US Northern Command General Gregory Guillot, the Gravely will help 'to protect the United States territorial integrity, sovereignty and security.'

The deployment will contribute to 'a coordinated and robust response to combating maritime related terrorism, weapons proliferation, transnational crime, piracy, environmental destruction, and illegal seaborne immigration,' Defense officials added.

Trump campaigned on a mass deportation policy and set to work cracking down on illegal immigration as soon as he returned to the White House.

He vowed to send an additional 10,000 troops to the border with Mexico to bolster security measures and reinstate his remain in Mexico policy, which requires migrants who are seeking asylum in the US to wait for their court date in the country from which they crossed.

USS Gravely left the Naval Weapons Station in Virginia on Saturday.

While few details have been made about Gravely's next mission, authorities made it clear that it was in response to Trump's executive order to secure the borders.

Upon returning to the White House, Trump declared a national emergency at the border with Mexico.

The Gravely will house a squad of US Coast Guard Law Enforcement Detachment - elite operators who specialize in maritime missions like fighting piracy and intercepting drug trafficking rings.

Just 13 months ago, warplanes and missiles were launched from Gravely on Houthi targets in Yemen amid the ongoing conflict in the Red Sea.

That particular mission was a high-stakes attack in response to the deaths of three US troops in Jordan.

The Houthi targets were in 13 different locations and were struck by US F/A-18 fighter jets from the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower aircraft carrier, by British Typhoon FGR4 fighter aircraft and by the Navy destroyers USS Gravely and the USS Carney firing Tomahawk missiles from the Red Sea, according to US officials and the UK Defense Ministry.

The Defense Department said the strikes targeted sites associated with the Houthis' deeply buried weapons storage facilities, missile systems and launchers, air defense systems, radars and helicopters.

Gravely was in the region for nine months and shot down missiles and drones from Houthi rebels.

Trump's latest move comes after he allegedly ordered the US military to draw up plans to seize the Panama Canal in his bid to 'reclaim' the waterway.

The US Southern Command has developed an array of potential plans to ensure the America has full access to the Panama Canal, two military sources confirmed to Reuters.

Trump has asserted that the US needs to take back the canal because China controls it and could use the waterway to undermine American interests.

In his inaugural speech in January, Trump repeated accusations that Panama has broken the promises it made for the final transfer of the canal in 1999.

When I was on subs, a very high ranking Doctor explained that after upkeep, 90% of the crew would be married. After two patrols, only 10% would still be married. That’s why I left after 10 years of sailing. Don’t let your kids grow up to be sailors.

#7  The inclusion of the USCG LEDet is an important point. US Navy vessels have no domestic LE enforcement powers pe se, but the USCG does. In an interesting procedure, the Captain of the destroyer places his ship under the USCG LEDet Command, and gains the ability to operate legally in enforcement matters while under their "command".

Israel-Palestine-Jordan
The blood is on their hands
[IsraelNationalNews] As long as American and European demonstrators keep marching for death-eating Islamic barbarians; and as long as the left-liberal Western media continues to cover them in glory--this is precisely what encourages #Hamas to hold onto the Israeli hostages whom Hamas/Iran/Qatar pays to have tortured every single day and every single night, just as Hamas and PIJ have been doing for more than 500 days.

The hostages' agony, their very blood, is also on the hands of the pro-Hamas protestors/demonstrators in the West who stop traffic, invade public spaces, shut down classrooms, destroy property as they continue to call for "Revolution Intifada;" bang drums and chant "free, free free Palestine," and "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."

How can people be this blind, this stupid, this heartless, this culturally suicidal? Forgive me for asking a rhetorical question.

We see them for who they are. Their time is coming. At least I hope so.

There is no "genocide" in Gaza. There is no "apartheid" in Israel. The IDF has not committed any "ethnic cleansing" anywhere. And they know it. These crimes are only part of the Islamic/Islamist repertoire. Tell me: Are there any Jews in the Arab, Muslim Middle East? There used to be so many. What happened to them? Ignorance is also a huge enemy.

But then there is this. Something more complex, something rather tragic. Yes, it is true that the Israeli government/military echelons bear a huge responsibility for not having seen 10/7 coming their way, but those Israelis who demonstrate against their own government (but not against Hamas); those who suffer from Bibi Derangement Sydrome (but not from Hamas Derangement Syndrome); those Israelis whose precious family members are trapped far below the earth in airless tunnels--yes, they have a say--maybe they should demonstrate in Gaza? In Qatar? (I don't really mean that and yet...at least against them?)

However, in opposing any total destruction of Hamas in Gaza; in chanting "Bring Them Home" instead of "Let them Go;" in refusing to put their nation and their people first, before their beloved own, they are condemning both themselves, their country, and their people to absolute and permanent Hell.

What if President Trump loses patience with the Israelis--what then? Indeed, what then?

Yariv Levin on the dismissal of Ronen Bar: The jurists will not decide
[IsraelNationalNews] Justice Minister Yariv Levin on Sunday evening called to ignore Attorney General Gali Baharav-Miara's demand to stop the dismissal of Israel Security Agency (Shin Bet) chief Ronen Bar.

"The Shin Bet law explicitly states that the government is authorized to terminate the tenure of the agency's head before the end of their term. This law should be familiar to the Attorney General as well. In case anyone is confused, Israel is a democracy, and everyone in it, including the Attorney General, is subject to the law," said Levin.

"We must not succumb to threats or attempts to strip the government of its authority. The surrender to violence and refusal in March 2023 is what brought us to the current state of lack of governance. Now is a moment of truth for all of us. It is time for a democratic Israel where decisions are made by the public's elected representatives and not by self-elevated jurists," Levin added.

His comments came after Baharav-Miara wrote a letter to Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in which she criticized his announcement that he would act to dismiss Bar.
Good example (Orange Man) is infectious?
Apparently yes. :-)
Trump’s tackling of ostensible ‘deep state’ inspired Netanyahu to fire Shin Bet chief — report

[IsraelTimes] Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu decided to move ahead with the firing of Shin Bet chief Ronen Bar after leaving Washington in early February, inspired by the moves US President Donald Trump took “against the deep state” and his appointment of loyalists to key posts, the Axios news site reports, citing aides to the premier.

Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Worth noting, korrespondent.net has compiled its Invasion of Ukraine series into separate months, beginning May 9th, 2023. Linked in the title.

21.05 The US plan to resolve the Russian-Ukrainian war consists of two parts: first a ceasefire, after which negotiations to end the war should take place. This was stated by US Secretary of State Mark Rubio.

"Plan A is to cease fire so that we can move to Plan B, the second phase, which is to get everyone to the table, perhaps through shuttle diplomacy (through a mediator - ed.), to find a way to end this war permanently in a way that is lasting and respects the needs of everyone and so on," he explained.

20:00 Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan held a telephone conversation with American leader Donald Trump, which, in particular, touched on Russia’s war against Ukraine.

In a conversation with Trump, Erdogan supported his "decisive and direct initiatives to end the war between Russia and Ukraine."

19.30 Ukraine has outlined a number of "red lines" for any peace deal with Russia, including the impossibility of handing over to Russia additional territories that are not yet occupied, The Independent reports, citing Ukrainian officials.

The British publication lists Ukraine's "red lines" in possible negotiations:

Refusal to transfer further territories, despite Russian dictator Vladimir Putin's desire to take back four Ukrainian regions partially occupied by Russia.

The return of thousands of civilians illegally held by Russia who are not considered prisoners of war and therefore will not be included in the prisoner exchange.

The need for international security guarantees in the event that Putin violates any ceasefire agreement.

18.50 Pope Francis called on believers to continue to pray for countries suffering from war, including Ukraine.

"And we continue to pray for peace, especially in countries suffering from war: in martyred Ukraine, Palestine, Israel, Lebanon, Myanmar, Sudan, the Democratic Republic of Congo," the pontiff urged.

18.24 The current situation provides an opportunity for productive negotiations between Ukraine and Russia. This was stated by Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

"It was difficult to achieve peace at first, but now the current situation provides an opportunity for meaningful and productive negotiations between Ukraine and Russia," he said.

According to Modi, the war in Ukraine has brought "a lot of suffering, even the Global South has suffered."

17:50 President Volodymyr Zelensky appointed Andriy Gnatov as Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to replace Anatoliy Bargilevich. The major general has over 27 years of military experience, commanded a marine brigade, the operational command troops to the east, and the Joint Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

Bargilevich has been appointed Inspector General of the Ministry of Defense. His task is to monitor compliance with military standards and strengthen military discipline.

16.55 The UK is ready to send 10,000 troops to Ukraine . But the final number of foreign troops for Ukraine will exceed this figure. This was announced by Prime Minister Keir Starmer at a meeting of the leaders of the "coalition of the willing".

14:00 Over the past week, Russian troops have launched more than 1,020 attack drones at Ukraine , continuing to terrorize peaceful cities and communities. The massive attacks also included about 1,360 guided aerial bombs and more than 10 missiles of various types. This was announced by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky

12:50 Over the course of a week, the State Special Transport Service cleared more than 1,700 hectares of territory from explosive objects. In total, 828 dangerous objects were found and neutralized, most of which were in the Kherson region. This was reported by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.

12.20 The Russian army struck the village of Zolotaya Balka in the Kherson region, a 40-year-old woman was killed and a 70-year-old man was injured.

11:45 Patrol police officers came under repeated fire in Chernihiv during a Russian drone attack. They were the first to arrive at the scene of the attack on March 15.

10:50 The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine has effectively confirmed the loss of Sudzha in the Kursk region , the press service of the department reported on Sunday, March 16. For more than six months, the Armed Forces of Ukraine had this Russian city under control; now it is controlled by the Russian army.

10:15 Europe may send troops to Ukraine without Moscow's consent , said French President Emmanuel Macron.

9.08 In Chernihiv, as a result of a Russian attack drone hitting a five-story residential building, two floors were partially destroyed; clearing the rubble continues.

8.30 On the night of March 16, the Ukrainian Defense Forces shot down 47 Russian drones out of 90, and another 33 enemy UAVs were lost. The enemies launched them from different types in the following directions: Millerovo, Bryansk, Shatalovo, Primorsko-Akhtarsk, Chauda. The Chernihiv, Kiev, Kharkov and Odessa regions were hit.

03.00 Finnish President Alexander Stubb has said that Russian dictator Vladimir Putin is not seeking a truce in the full-scale war against Ukraine. His main goal, namely "the destruction of Ukraine's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity," has not changed at all.

01:30 US Secretary of State Marco Rubio had a telephone conversation with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the conversation, they touched on several topics. In particular, the parties discussed further steps following the recent meetings in Saudi Arabia, and also agreed to continue working to restore communication between the US and Russia.

00.15 European countries can send their troops to Ukraine without Russia's consent, French President Macron said. Instead, Putin's refusal to deploy any European forces to ensure Ukraine's security is, according to Macron, "a clear sign of a strategic existential threat."

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
A group from Hezbollah’s militia ambushed and kidnapped three Syrian Arab Army soldiers near the Zita Dam, west of Homs
[PUBLISH.TWITTER] Ever more unexpectedly interesting times for various hard boy jihadis.

The Times of Israel gives us the thousand words for Twitter’s pictures:
Terror group denies involvement, and Lebanese source claims the soldiers crossed the border and were shot by local gunmen in village of Qasr; Syria said to fire missiles at town

Syria’s defense ministry on Sunday accused Leb
...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade....
’s Hezbollah terror group of abducting three Syrian soldiers to Lebanon and killing them there, state media reported, as Hezbollah denied any involvement in festivities.
A dramatic choice. One would have thought Hezbollah had enough trouble being wiped out by the IDF, without adding another active enemy to their daily activities, but clearly one would be wrong.
"A group from the Hezbollah militia kidnapped three members of the Syrian army on the Syrian-Lebanese border before taking them to Lebanese territory and eliminating them," the news agency SANA quoted the defense ministry as saying.

"The defense ministry will take all the necessary measures after this dangerous escalation from the Hezbollah militia," it added, saying the incident had occurred near the Zeita Dam, west of Homs.
I think the only answer to this deadly insult is for Hayat Tahrir al Sham the new conquerers of Syria to send a large unit into Lebanon to punish those uppity Levantine Shiite heretics with their delusions of superiority, just because they were backed by the IRGC for the past forty-something years. They need to learn their place, and only Al Nusra can teach them properly.
Meanwhile,
...back at the comedy club, Boogie was cracking himself up, but nobody else seemed to be getting the non-stop jokes...
Hezbollah in a statement denied any involvement in festivities with Syrian security forces or in Syrian territory. The Iran-backed jihadist group said it "categorically denies any connection to the events taking place today on the Lebanese-Syrian border."
”Wudn’t us — really and truly, we’d never!”
It added that it "reaffirms its previous announcements that Hezbollah has no relation to any events within Syrian territory."
Significant shrinkage, that. Only a few months ago they had a section based in Syria to support the Assad government and were busily setting up along the Israeli border, preparatory to causing trouble there. Ya just never know what the future brings whether you’re truly the beloved of Allah, y’know?
Lebanon’s state news agency NNA reported that rockets fired from Syrian territory had landed in the Lebanese village of Qasr near the border.
It’s a start, I suppose. But hopefully not the finish.
"A number of rockets, fired from the Qusayr countryside inside Syrian territory, fell on the border town of Qasr," it said, without providing further details.

A Lebanese security source told AFP that "tensions began after three Syrian general security personnel crossed into Lebanese territory at the village of Qasr, where they were shot at by local button men affiliated with a family involved in smuggling."

The source said the reason they entered was unknown.
Answering the question not yet asked. Oh well — hopefully an answer will be soon revealed.
After their death, "the button men handed over their bodies to the Lebanese army which in turn handed them over to the Syrian side."

NNA also reported that the bodies of three Syrian soldiers had been handed over to Syria via the Lebanese Red Thingy.

The source said "an escalation subsequently occurred by Syrian security forces, who shelled homes in Qasr."

Hezbollah was a key backer of Syria’s former president Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad
Horror of Homs...
before he was toppled in a lightning offensive by Islamist-led rebels in December.

Under Assad, Syria became a staging ground for the smuggling of countless Iran-linked weapons to Hezbollah, which has fought several wars with Israel and lauched tens of thousands of rockets at the Jewish state over the years, including more than a year of war sparked when the Lebanese terror group attacked unprovoked on October 8, 2023, a day after its Paleostinian ally Hamas
..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,...
launched its murderous October 7 onslaught near Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
. Hezbollah and Hamas are sworn to Israel’s destruction.
Iran’s beloved pincer movement once again failed. Maybe after five or ten more attempts, they’ll finally start plotting something else. By definition the fact that it keeps not working is proof that Allah does not want them to succeed.
Syria’s new authorities announced last month the launch of a security campaign in the border province of Homs, aimed at shutting down routes used for arms and goods smuggling.

They accused Hezbollah of launching attacks, saying it was sponsoring cross-border smuggling gangs.
Rudaw clarifies:
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights on Sunday reported on the killing of "three members of the Ali ibn Abi Talib Brigade, affiliated with the Syrian Ministry of Defense, in an ambush by gunmen believed to be members of smuggling gangs loyal to Hezbollah."

"A quarrel took place between members of Lebanese tribes and members of the Ali ibn Abi Talib Brigade, which ended with the stabbing of one of the tribesmen. Following this, the brigade members were lured into Lebanese territory and killed,” the UK-based war monitor reported.

Iranian ex-officers to Israeli TV: Israel should bomb Khamenei’s home, help topple regime
[IsraelTimes] In report showing them with blurred faces, men identified as ex-air force colonel and disillusioned IRGC officer say ‘the power of the Israeli army must help the Iranian nation’

A man said to be a retired colonel in the Iranian air force urged Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to facilitate a coup by striking the home of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei, in an interview with Israel’s Channel 12 broadcast on Saturday.
Goodness. Yet another Moslem in the region wanting Israel to play Janissaries and do the work for them. The Saudis and other oil sheikhs also want Israel to defeat Iran so they needn’t risk themselves.
“Netanyahu needs to order an attack on Khamenei’s home,” the man said.

“And we, the military can take over sensitive political centers and officially announce Iran’s freedom and friendship with Israel,” he added.
How will you reward Israel for taking on the risk and the expense?
The man — whose face was blurred and who used the pseudonym Arash — also claimed 95 percent of Iranians were pleased with the IDF’s retaliatory strikes on military sites in the Islamic Republic, which he said has “taken us, the people, hostage.”
True.
The man said Iranians “have this kind of wish that Israel will go further” than it had in the April and October retaliatory strikes “so that the nation will be emboldened and take to the streets.”

“They themselves will cut [the regime’s] roots from the country,” he added, noting the weakening of Iran’s air defenses and its regional proxies.

Also speaking to Channel 12, a man said to have been a cleric in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps — which is separate from the military and answers directly to Khamenei — urged Israel to attack Iran.

“I don’t see Israel as criminal. We say ‘death to Israel,’ but Israel doesn’t say ‘death to Iran,'” said the man, whose face was also blurred and who used the pseudonym Javad.

“We’ve been friends days since the days of Cyrus [the Great],”
…king of the Medes and the Persians, conquerer of Babylonia, among others, all back in the 6th century BC. That debt has long since been repaid, not that Cyrus the Great demanded more than that his Jews be law-abiding citizens who shared their prosperity with his empire, which they did with great enthusiasm. The Jews have ever since described him as the Platonic ideal of a gentile ruler…
he said. “Cyrus saved the Jews of Babylon. Now we expect something in return — that you lend us a hand of friendship, that the power of the Israeli army come to help the Iranian nation.”

Arash and Javad were both said to be speaking to Israel’s Channel 12 from inside Iran — an exceptional feat, given the country’s tight censorship and its leaders’ open commitment to destroy Israel.

As part of that cause, Iran supports an “Axis of Resistance” network of regional proxies, which includes Lebanon’s Hezbollah, Gaza’s Hamas and Yemen’s Houthi rebels.

Arash said he had been forced to resign from the military after he refused to help train Hamas in guerrilla tactics and urban warfare. It was unclear when the episode had taken place.
Possibly within the last several years, possibly even before that…
He noted Israel’s recent successes against Iran’s proxies in the wars in Gaza and Lebanon that followed October 7, 2023, when thousands of Hamas-led terrorists stormed southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages.
An estimated 20,000 - 30,000 dead Hamasniks plus associated Gazan civilians, perhaps about half as many Hezbollahniks ditto — and that when hobbled by an American administration that was strongly anti-Israel and slow-walking weapons sales. Think what they’ll be able to accomplish when the American government is supportive…
Hezbollah, unprovoked, began attacking Israel a day later. In September the following year, Israel stepped up operations against Hezbollah, detonating booby-trapped pagers it had covertly sold to the terror group and assassinating its long-time leader Hassan Nasrallah.

“Israel has hurt the leaders of the resistance movements. In the pager attack and others, Nasrallah himself said they took a heavy blow,” said Arash. “What the IRGC thinks now is that Hamas won’t recuperate. Hezbollah won’t recuperate. Where do they place their stock? In Yemen.”
Yemen is currently taking American fire. They may not much longer be a viable option.
Asked about Israel’s attack on Iran’s air defenses in late October — which followed Iran’s October 1 missile attack that sent millions of Israelis into bomb shelters — Arash said that the Islamic Republic’s airspace was “wide open.”

“The computer system that receives orders and launches missiles at planes — those systems have been taken completely offline,” he said.

Arash said Israel’s attack mainly hit “sites with S-300 anti-ballistic missile silos that Russia gave Iran, as well as drones.”

“Now they have no advanced anti-plane systems,” he said. “They have the same old systems we used in the [1980-1988] Iran-Iraq War, two pipes that we sit behind and shoot out of.”
An evocative description — the man has the soul of a poet, appropriate for a culture even whose astronomers wrote in quatrains.
A former Israeli intelligence officer interviewed by Channel 12 explained that the Iran-Iraq War had been the reason Tehran did not disband its military, which was loyal to the deposed shah, immediately after the 1979 revolution that heralded the Islamic Republic.

Then-Supreme Leader Ruhollah Khomeini had planned to replace the military with the IRGC, but the war’s manpower crunch required him to keep the military intact, the Israeli officer said.
The Iranian birthrate has been below replacement for a while — the current total fertility rate being 1.91 and the median male age now 33.6 per the CIA World Factbook— limiting available military age men.
The officer added that the Iranian military remains underfunded and had relatively little influence over decision-making, compared with the IRGC. The latter, he said, is identified with Iran’s hardliners and had been the driving force behind Iran’s attacks on Israel last year.

Arash, the retired Iranian officer, said that “all the soldiers in the military feel estranged from the IRGC, from this regime. I can even say that 60% of soldiers in the IRGC hate it.”

Javad, a former IRGC mullah, said, “The military generally comprises the lower classes, so they have negative thoughts about the regime, compared with the IRGC.”

Javad also reported that the IRGC was “shocked” by Israel’s assassination of Hamas chief Ismail Haniyeh at a Guard guesthouse in Tehran in July.
Of course they were. How could they have imagined that Allah would allow the Jews such a victory over his own best beloveds?
“You can see the IRGC didn’t put out a statement,” he said.

He also noted that the IRGC “has lost a very strong front in Syria” when Iran-backed President Bashar al-Assad was deposed in December. “That front has fallen to Israel’s hands. Now, the Syrian regime is attacking Lebanon on behalf of Israel’s interests.
On their own rather than Israel’s, of course. But the sillies dare to believe they are Allah’s preferred brand, which goes to show.
And that was a very fatal blow.”

According to Channel 12, Javad had become recently disillusioned with the Islamic Republic after the regime harassed him over a personal matter. The falling-out was said to have cost Javad his religious privileges and hurt his social status.

“I’m a Shiite, and until this incident, there have been many videos of me taking part in rallies and such,” he said. “But I’m happy my mind has opened up. I consider them enemies, those who say Israel… is corrupt, when they themselves are corrupt.”

“The corruption at the top has doubled,” he said. “The corruption and prostitution in Iran have doubled.”

He proceeded to illustrate his compatriots’ discontent with their government’s generous support for Palestinian terror groups even as Iranians suffer from international sanctions on their economy.

“I was in Tehran on a mission,” he said. “One of the IRGC kids said, jokingly, ‘death to Palestine,’ and we all laughed.”

“Even so,” Javad added, “he knew that if he really wanted to say something tomorrow… [the regime] will easily assassinate him.”

The interviews were broadcast as the US struck Houthi targets in Yemen and warned Iran to stop supporting the rebels, who have threatened to resume attacks on Red Sea shipping and Israel. Iran responded on Sunday that Washington has “no authority” to dictate Iran’s foreign policy.

Meanwhile, Khamenei last week rejected US President Donald Trump’s offer to negotiate a deal for the White House to lift sanctions on Iran in exchange for oversight of the Islamic Republic’s nuclear facilities.
The Trump dawa, providing an opportunity for peaceful surrender before turning to the non-peaceful approach, just as the Prophet Mohammed modelled. Like Alinsky, the method is available to all…
Trump — who scrapped such a deal in his first term — has indicated the alternative to a deal would be airstrikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities.
See?
Though Tehran has said its nuclear program is strictly peaceful, it has enriched uranium to near-weapons-grade levels unfit for civilian use.
*shrug* Everyone knows it’s taqqiya, or one of the other required Moslem lies.
Israeli officials have repeatedly indicated that Jerusalem could take advantage of Iran’s low air defenses to strike the nuclear facilities.

Speaking to Channel 12, Javad said, “I live with the hope… that in coming months I’ll see this happen. Israel against Iran — in the end it’s in the hands of the US. The Iranians understand that, too.”
Deus vult.

Critics says violent anti-Israel protests led U of Amsterdam to cut ties with Hebrew U
[IsraelTimes] Advisory committee affirms May 2024 decision by UvA President Verbeek, who negotiated with masked rioters that demanded school divest from Israeli institutions

The University of Amsterdam has come under heavy criticism for its decision Thursday to end bilateral relations with the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. Following the university’s announcement, Dutch politicians have accused the board of the UvA of giving in to the demands of the violent mostly peaceful anti-Israel protesters who brought the campus to a standstill in May 2024.

On Thursday, the board of UvA put out a statement in which it announced it would follow the recommendations of an advisory commission on collaboration with foreign universities. Three projects with partners in Israel, China and Hungary will not be continued or renewed in their current form, the university said.

UvA will end its current relationship with the Hebrew University, and future renewed cooperation will only take place after a positive recommendation from the same advisory commission. In the case of China, however, UvA "has no objections to continuing cooperation, but advises risk-mitigating measures."

Critics of the UvA decision were quick to point out that China, with its abysmal human rights
...which are often intentionally defined so widely as to be meaningless...
record, is treated with more leniency than Israel, the only democracy in the Middle East. According to human rights organizations, the Chinese government has incarcerated up to a million members of its Moslem minority — known as Uyghurs — in labor and reeducation camps.

"The University of Amsterdam collaborates with no fewer than six Chinese universities, apparently unbothered by China’s concentration camps for the Uyghur population," Annabel Nanninga, a senator in the First Chamber of the Dutch parliament for the pro-Israel, right-wing JA21-party, told The Times of Israel on Friday.

Nanninga has joined a chorus of politicians to accuse the University of Amsterdam of giving into the demands of violent mostly peaceful protesters who, in May 2024, occupied and vandalized campus buildings on Roeterseiland and at the Binnengasthuisterrein in the center of the Dutch capital.

During the riots, a mob of masked protesters blocked entrances and emergency exits and caused serious damage to one building. Protesters, atop makeshift barriers of desks, bricks and wooden pallets, used fire extinguishers to push back the police, as viewed by The Times of Israel.

Since the Hamas
..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,...
massacre of 1,200 people in southern Israel and the 251 hostages taken to Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response...
on October 7, 2023, pro-Paleostinian protesters have fought pitched battles with riot police on campus and were responsible for over 4 million euros ($4.4 million) in damage. One of the rioters’ demands was the breaking off of cooperation with Israeli universities.

At the height of the violent mostly peaceful campus protests, UvA President Peter-Paul Verbeek came under fire from pro-Israel political parties and his staff and students for exposing his university’s relationship with Israeli universities. During the protests, Verbeek negotiated in English with masked activists whose identity remains unknown and of whom it is not known if they are actual UvA students.

Verbeek also immediately halted cooperation with the Hebrew University, which had existed since the 1980s, while awaiting recommendations from the advisory commission.

’CHILLING ECHOES’
Senator Nanninga called Verbeek’s decision to halt cooperation "a chilling echo of a dark past" and "a dangerous precedent."

"What if the rioters demand the burning of books by Israeli or Jewish authors in the schoolyard? Will UvA follow those orders too?" she asked.

Pointing out that UvA is a publicly funded university, Nanninga stated her intention to ask Education Minister Eppo Bruins about financial consequences for "educational institutions that cannot or will not guarantee the safety and dignity of Jews and Israelis" during the upcoming budget debate.

So far, the center-right government in The Hague has refused to take significant steps to curb growing antisemitism on Dutch campuses, despite many reports of rising fear among Jewish students and their pro-Israel allies since October 7, 2023.

Last week, Syrian-born pro-Israeli activist Rawan Osman had to be protected by private security personnel from physical attack by masked pro-Paleostinian demonstrators as she gave lectures at the universities of Nijmegen and Maastricht. Osman announced that she would press charges against Harry Pettit, a University of Nijmegen faculty member whom she accused of leading a violent mostly peaceful protest against her.

Alexandra van Duffelen, president of the board at Nijmegen University and former politician for the anti-Israel center-left party D66, has been under fire for not removing Pettit, who has defended violence in support of the Paleostinian cause both in Israel and on Dutch university campuses.

The Jewish student organization IJAR called on the board of the University of Maastricht to come up with extra security measures ahead of the annual "Israel Apartheid Week," which starts on March 21.

IJAR has stated that, as in the case of the violent mostly peaceful protest against Osman, failure to act against protesters "has undermined academic freedom and open debate, and has affected the basic rights of our community, freedom of speech and freedom of assembly," IJAR wrote in a statement.

"Education in the Netherlands stands at a distance from politics, which is often a good thing," said Claire Martens, a member of the Dutch Second Chamber or lower house of parliament for the center-right VVD-party. "But in cases like these, when there is structural insecurity and selective treatment of Jewish and or Israeli students and staff, it’s enormously frustrating."

Martens agreed with Nanninga that it now appears that "violence and intimidation pay off."

"Stories about the lack of safety and double standards toward a group of Jewish and Israeli students are heartbreaking. Pushing off responsibility by university management or the Minister of Education is no longer an option." Martens said, adding that she will ask questions in parliament this week.

On Friday, Jewish former foreign minister Uri Rosenthal announced that he was symbolically sending back his cum laude diploma to the university.

"The cowardly board members can give it to one of their Samidoun [Paleostinian Prisoner Solidarity Network] students for services rendered," Rosenthal, who currently chairs the Free Iran
...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate Jews Zionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol...
Committee, wrote on social media platform X.

Ronny Naftaniel, the founder of the Center for Information and Documentation on Israel (CIDI) and another alumnus of the University of Amsterdam, said he would follow Rosenthal’s example by sending back his cum laude diploma in economics. Dozens of University of Amsterdam alumni vowed on X to join Rosenthal and Naftaniel.

The Dutch Friends of Hebrew University (NVHU), led by human rights activist and former politician Boris Dittrich, said it was "flabbergasted" by the decision of the University of Amsterdam to end student exchanges with Hebrew University. "HU more than anyone makes great efforts toward diversity, inclusion and cooperation between Israeli and Paleostinian students," NVHU wrote in a statement.

"To achieve this, Hebrew University has set up many programs, led by Paleostinian Professor Mona Khoury, vice president of Strategy and Diversity at Hebrew University. More than 16% of a student population of 24,000 is Paleostinian, of which half stems from East Jerusalem. Every year 500 youths from East Jerusalem get the opportunity to study free of charge," wrote NVHU.

"It would speak in favor of the University of Amsterdam if it chooses the path of dialogue, something HU has called for on many occasions. That might have lifted the academic level of an entirely polarized discussion to a higher level. That is after all what universities are here for."

It is currently unclear what will happen with UvA’s cooperation with two other Israeli universities, Tel Aviv University and Ben Gurion University of the Negev in Beersheba. Its exchange program with Israel seems to be dormant at the moment because of a negative travel advisory from the Dutch foreign ministry since the beginning of the war in Gaza in October 2023.

''Extermination'' site found in Mexico, cremation ovens and remains
[NYPOST] An ''extermination'' site where human remains and ovens have been found is being probed by police in Mexico, leaving families searching for missing loved ones bracing for the worst.

Mexican officials flocked to the Izaguirre Ranch in the western state of Jalisco last week after volunteers flagged the findings at the site, operated by the New Generation Jalisco Cartel.

Past the estate's iron gates, officials found cremation ovens, bone fragments, hundreds of pairs of shoes, clothing, and even children's toys, raising fears that the cartel group might have carried out mass killings at the ranch.

Officials have found around 700 personal items at the site, but it remains unclear how many bodies were cremated there.

Police said they have found nearly 100 shell casings so far.

''The number of the victims that presumably could have been buried there is enormous,'' Eduardo Guerrero, a security analyst in Mexico City, told The New York Times

...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize...

. ''And it resurfaced the nightmarish reminder that Mexico is plagued with mass graves.''

#2  Dark Stuff

CJNG is the worst of the cartels. Their power base is no joke, they control the Jalisco Region of MX, home to Puerto Vallarta and Guadalajara - the area has a booming economy with manufacturing, agriculture, and tourism (beach capital). Violence and death is CJNG 's calling card. This death field is not a surprise. CJNG is the leading cause of political violence in MX. Everything they are involved in is usually not very pleasant. Jalisco is one of the two major players in the fentanyl trade. They also have ties to Venezuala/Colombia's ELN. Brookings and other thinktanks have also mapped their ties with Chinese Triads which are the source for CJNG's Fentanyl Precursors.

I would support military action against CJNG. Just not a blanket Cartel War.

70,000 Ukrainian soldiers in Kursk region died in vain
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin.

[ColonelCassad] The area where the gas pipeline exited near Sudzha, which led to the disorganization of the enemy's defense on the Kursk salient and its rapid collapse.

Funny headlines in the Western press. "70,000 soldiers in Kursk region died in vain."

Something must have happened.

Here they even went a bit overboard - according to the Russian Ministry of Defense, 66,000.

But here it is rather noteworthy how now in the West they are smashing the lies of the cocaine Fuhrer about the fact that the goals of the Ukrainian Armed Forces in the Kursk region have been achieved, while in the West back in November-December they called for the withdrawal of troops from the Kursk salient in order to avoid further growth of losses and to preserve troops for future operations.

In this case, the enemy would have kept a number of brigades combat-ready and could have used them to attack the Bryansk or Belgorod regions, forcing us to maintain fairly large forces to cover the border. Instead, they waited until the brigades were worn out and the logistics intercepted, which led to excessive losses in people and equipment (mainly Western).

Today, the General Staff of the Ukrainian Armed Forces acknowledged the loss of Sudzha. As usual, belatedly.

Driver asked Highway Patrolman what was up, and HiPo quipped something like, "The truck operators are going off the road and sliding into vehicles...may have probably never really drove in winter conditions until recently.", the implication being a lot of CDLs have gone to people from more equatorial climates and lack Winter driving experience and have lower CDL expectations.

IIUC, one of the most important pieces of equipment for a trucker is the CB Radio to communicate current driving conditions and accidents. Without a working knowledge of English, CB alerts such as dust/brown out conditions aren't understood which adds a truck into a pileup. …the New York Times’ own reporter, Don McNeil, was deliberately lied to by Fauci's gang of pay-for-play scientists—scientists who later laughed about deceiving him.

You might argue this means the New York Times was itself misled, but here’s the telltale sign: they never reported that their own reporter had been lied to.
Quite probably they never did the reporter’s first job and asked. They were happy to issue press releases and harass people.
The only place you could find the truth was right here on Twitter. That’s 100% proof they were in on the cover-up—maybe not McNeil himself, but certainly the New York Times as an institution.

They weren’t just complicit, they were active participants in the biggest deception in history. They knowingly covered for liars, pushed false narratives, and let the world suffer the consequences. Absolutely vile.

“The presence of these terror infrastructure sites constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon. The IDF will not allow this kind of activity and will act against it,” the military says, adding that “the IDF will strike armed terrorists in southern Lebanon, and will operate in order to remove any threat to the State of Israel.”

Katz warns Israel’s enemies, says Iron Beam will soon be ready
[IsraelTimes] Defense Minister Israel Katz cautions Israel’s enemies against testing Jerusalem’s “decisive” defense capabilities and confirms that the Iron Beam laser interception system is nearly operational during a visit to the Rafael defense technology firm.

“Our enemies should know and understand clearly — we have many means to deliver a decisive blow. If they raise a hand against Israel again—that hand will be severed,” says Katz while touring Rafael’s facilities alongside company leadership and top defense officials.

The advanced Iron Beam technology, which uses lasers to intercept rockets and drones for a fraction of the cost of the Iron Dome, will be implemented later this year, according to the Defense Ministry.

“The laser system is the weapon of the future, capable of neutralizing an entire layer of threats…with outstanding and continuously improving results. Israeli citizens need this protection,” says Katz.

The Iron Beam is not meant to replace the Iron Dome or Israel’s other air defense systems but to supplement and complement them, shooting down smaller projectiles and leaving larger ones for the more robust missile-based batteries such as the David’s Sling and Arrow systems.

According to the Defense Ministry, the Iron Beam doesn’t run out of ammunition so long as there’s an energy source.

The defense minister hails critical technology developed by Rafael, such as the Iron Dome and David’s Sling, which have protected Israeli citizens from aerial threats over the past year and a half, the Defense Ministry says.

Since the war in Gaza began on October 7 of last year with the Hamas invasion and massacre, more than 26,000 rockets, missiles, and drones have been launched at Israel from multiple fronts.

Turkey said to take in 15 exiled former Palestinian security prisoners
[IsraelTimes] Some 15 exiled Palestinian prisoners recently released from Israeli prisons land in Turkey, reports the Al-Araby Al-Jadeed site, citing Egyptian sources.

The Qatari site reports that this week, Malaysia and Indonesia are both expected to receive 15 freed Palestinian prisoners as well.
Small numbers, but those exiled are supposed to be the worst of the worst, and some among those allowed to remain have already managed to get themselves killed — a well-deserved death sentence even before they went back to their old ways.
The first phase of the ceasefire with Hamas in Gaza saw Israel release some 1,900 Palestinian prisoners, including over 270 serving life terms in connection with the murders of dozens of Israelis.

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Cross-Dressing Man Out on Bond Accused in Elderly Woman's Kidnapping
[Breitbart] A transgender man from Mission Viejo, California, “who apparently cross-dresses on social media,” and was out on bond for attempted murder is now accused of kidnapping and assaulting an 89-year-old woman in Summerville, South Carolina.

The suspect, identified as 34-year-old Enver Marius Zueros, allegedly targeted the woman when she stopped giving him money, Fox News reported on Friday.

Video footage appears to show Zueros wearing a short dress and high heels while dancing in what is apparently intended to be a provocative way:

Police said he became angry when the woman started giving money to charities instead of to him. Count On 2 News reported Thursday that police apprehended the man on Monday in North Augusta when he was charging his electric vehicle.

“Zueros allegedly told investigators that he planned the attack and drove from California to an Airbnb in the area,” the article read.

The suspect reportedly was an acquaintance of the victim through her deceased brother. “According to the victim’s caretaker, Zueros and the victim’s brother were married,” the Count On 2 News article said, noting that after the woman’s brother died the suspect began contacting her.

Video footage shows police officers investigating the case prior to finding the suspect:

After Zueros gained access to the woman’s residence, a neighbor who is a retired law enforcement officer became suspicious and also went to her door. However, Zueros gave a fake name and claimed the woman was in the hospital due to an injury from a fall.

“The neighbor, still suspicious, went to his home to grab a gun, police said. Zueros fled the woman’s home in her vehicle. Authorities later found the vehicle with the woman restrained underneath the rear folding seats in her car floorboard, police said,” the Fox article stated.

When the woman was found inside the abandoned vehicle on Sunday, her wrists had been duct taped, a dog leash was around her ankles, and a trash bag had been put over her head, police said.

Following her rescue, Summerville Police Chief Doug Wright said, “She is doing well. I spoke to her as soon as we got her out of the car and onto a gurney. I cannot thank enough the EMS from Charleston County that were able to help her and bring calm to the situation. The first thing she asked me was, ‘Are my dogs okay?'”

Speaking of the suspect, he said, “This man will not see the light of day. He will spend the rest of his natural life in prison.”

Authorities charged Zueros with first-degree burglary, kidnapping, and attempted murder in the case.

Defense minister instructs IDF to respond to gunfire from Lebanon that hit car
[IsraelTimes] Defense Minister Israel Katz says he has instructed the IDF to respond to today’s gunfire from Lebanon that damaged a car in the border community of Avivim.

“The claim that it was an errant bullet from the funeral of a Hezbollah operative held in a nearby village is completely unacceptable,” Katz says.

He adds that Israel will “not allow a reality of shooting on the residents of the north for any reason, and we will respond to any violation of the ceasefire.”

Car hit by gunfire in northern Israel, apparently from Lebanon

[IsraelTimes] An empty parked car in the northern border community of Avivim was hit by gunfire earlier today.

According to the IDF, the gunfire apparently came from Lebanon.

There are no injuries in the incident.

The military says troops are searching the area, and further details are under investigation.

“Shooting at Israel from Lebanon is a violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon,” the IDF adds.

IDF finds weapons cache, UN vest in West Bank raid
[IsraelTimes] During an anti-terrorism operation in the northern West Bank, soldiers from the Kfir Brigade discover a weapons cache in the Nur Shams refugee camp outside of Tulkarem, according to an IDF statement.

Several bags of weapons were discovered at the scene, one of which contained a vest labeled “UNRWA,” the IDF says.
Fascinating. D’you suppose they’re attached to Hamas here, dear Reader, or more generically the PLO, ie. whichever group(s) are willing to put up money and provide training and coordination for that particular project?
Israel has long said that terrorists were using the UN agency as cover for their activities.

According to the statement, the confiscated weapons were transferred for further investigation by security forces.

The IDF states that it will continue its operations to thwart terrorism throughout the West Bank to ensure the safety of Israeli citizens.

Britain
British Labour minister 'rubbished' spy chief's secret dossier on Wuhan lab leak theory during pandemic despite Boris demanding probe... to 'avoid offending China'
First article, from Saturday... from the Daily Mail
A Labour minister was last night at the centre of an explosive row over claims he rubbished high-level intelligence pointing to Covid's origins in a Chinese laboratory.

The Mail on Sunday can reveal that a former spy chief submitted a secret dossier to No 10 early in the pandemic reporting that the virus had originated with a leak from a Wuhan facility.

But Lord Vallance, the science minister who was the Government's chief scientific adviser at the time, is accused of ignoring the report, possibly for fear of offending the Chinese or jeopardising research funding.

A classified dossier compiled by Sir Richard Dearlove, the former head of MI6, was passed to then-Prime Minister Boris Johnson at the start of the outbreak in March 2020 which stated: 'It is now beyond reasonable doubt that Covid-19 was engineered in the Wuhan Institute of Virology'.

The file, marked 'Secret — Recipient's Eyes Only' argued that Beijing was pushing a fake narrative that the virus had originated in an animal market. The dossier, compiled by a group of eminent academics and intelligence experts and seen by The Mail on Sunday, said China even retrospectively manipulated viral samples to give credence to the deception.

But the argument is said to have been dismissed by Patrick Vallance, who was a familiar face during the pandemic as he flanked Mr Johnson at No 10 news conferences.

In today's MoS, Sir Richard writes of his dossier: 'Boris himself was persuaded by its argument. But the weight of the Government's scientific establishment, already signed up to the Chinese narrative, prevailed.'

Last night, a source close to Mr Johnson pointed the finger at Lord Vallance for rubbishing the lab-leak theory in order to appease the Chinese government. The source said: 'Boris repeatedly asked the [intelligence] agencies to do more work on the origins of Covid. It struck him as simply too much of a coincidence that a mutant Covid virus appeared in a city that just happened to possess one of the only labs in the world that engineered mutant Covid viruses.

'He was very struck by the refusal of the scientists, especially Patrick Vallance, even to contemplate this possibility. He asked again after getting the Dearlove briefing and again the agencies came back with the same answer and specifically rubbished Dearlove. Looking back, he now wonders why the scientists and the agencies were so emphatic.'

The source said the former Prime Minister is concerned that the public were deliberately misled by the scientific and intelligence community to protect research funding from Beijing and to avoid angering the Chinese regime.
Wait... their intelligence community gets funding from Beijing?
Lord Vallance is facing increasing scrutiny over his role in suppressing the lab leak theory. He took part in a multinational teleconference in February 2020, after which it is alleged scientists began dismissing the Chinese lab-leak hypothesis as implausible.

Last week, former minister Steve Baker said Lord Vallance 'should be fully transparent about what he knew and why he chose to be among those who avoided inconvenient questions'.

The source said: 'Boris thinks it is possible that the scientists disliked the lab leak theory because they are wary about public hostility to science. They didn't want stories about Frankenstein viruses that would mean a threat to research funding. He also thinks they were nervous of causing offence to their international partners.

'Clearly the lab-leak theory was deeply embarrassing and painful to China. It meant that the incompetence of someone in Wuhan had caused millions of deaths and $16 trillion of damage worldwide.

'But they really didn't want to say this. Beijing is ruthless in punishing anyone who says anything hostile or disrespectful to China. The scientists were clearly nervous about triggering cuts to the huge Chinese investments in academic research of all kinds.'

The Mail on Sunday last week revealed that a senior virologist had claimed British and American intelligence agencies orchestrated a clandestine campaign to shut down concerns of a lab leak.

NYT: We Were Badly Misled About the Event That Changed Our Lives
Part III in the series on the Modified Limited Hangouts re: the modern Aktion T4 by the American and other mainstream press organizations and politicians...
Oh, and... this link might work.

By Zeynep Tufekci
If they want to play around with genes they should start with the gene's 3DC has been wanting modified with standard available mods for generating firefly glow flashes and some of the MIT logic genes to make Christmas trees naturally flash around solstice. That would remove the dangerous activity of outside tree decoration. Not stuff that puts the lives of billions in check. Hell if it goes bad you can always turn the trees into 2x4s.
Since scientists first began playing around with dangerous pathogens in laboratories, the world has experienced four or five pandemics, depending on how you count. One of them, the 1977 Russian flu, was almost certainly sparked by a research mishap. Some Western scientists quickly suspected the odd virus had resided in a lab freezer for a couple of decades, but they kept mostly quiet for fear of ruffling feathers.

Yet in 2020, when people started speculating that a laboratory accident might have been the spark that started the Covid-19 pandemic, they were treated like kooks and cranks. Many public health officials and prominent scientists dismissed the idea as a conspiracy theory, insisting that the virus had emerged from animals in a seafood market in Wuhan, China. And when a nonprofit called EcoHealth Alliance lost a grant because it was planning to conduct risky research into bat viruses with the Wuhan Institute of Virology — research that, if conducted with lax safety standards, could have resulted in a dangerous pathogen leaking out into the world — no fewer than 77 Nobel laureates and 31 scientific societies lined up to defend the organization.

So, the Wuhan research was totally safe and the pandemic was definitely caused by natural transmission: It certainly seemed like consensus.

We have since learned, however, that to promote the appearance of consensus, some officials and scientists hid or understated crucial facts, misled at least one reporter, orchestrated campaigns of supposedly independent voices and even compared notes about how to hide their communications in order to keep the public from hearing the whole story. And as for that Wuhan laboratory’s research, the details that have since emerged show that safety precautions may have been terrifyingly lax.

Five years after the onset of the Covid pandemic, it’s tempting to think of all that as ancient history. We learned our lesson about lab safety — and about the need to be straight with the public — and now we can move on to new crises, like measles or the evolving bird flu, right?

Wrong. If anyone needs convincing that the next pandemic is only an accident away, check out a recent paper in Cell, a prestigious scientific journal. Researchers, many of whom work or have worked at the Wuhan Institute of Virology (yes, the same institution), describe taking samples of viruses found in bats (yes, the same animal) and experimenting to see if they could infect human cells and pose a pandemic risk....
They aren't looking at the Defuse proposal or the similar evidence from Alina Chan's _Viral_ yet. Which means this is Yet Another Modified Limited Hangout, and they're not interested in following the breadcrumbs to all the other lies. Damn.

#3  Tag close fixed.

I replaced the cut-off headline with the original NYT headline. If you originally had written something else more clever, please post it in a comment below, and I’ll fix that, too. From my moderator notes, here is Fred’s explanation about that:

A quote (") in an article's headline will chop the text there. If a headline begins with a quote, no headline. Quotes are used in the code, which tries to execute what follows.

Workarounds: Use single quotes or two single quotes to make a double ('').

Other workarounds: Backslash quote (\ ". without the space.)

& lquo; and & rquo; (no spaces)

< q> and < /q> (no spaces)

So now you (and whoever else is reading this comment thread) understand why that happened and what to do, no doubt considerably better than I do. Thank you, Fred, for explaining that to me back in 2019! :-)

January frosts hit Moscow region on the night of March 16
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.
[Regnum] The most severe frosts since the beginning of spring hit Moscow on the night of March 16, and “January frosts” were recorded in the Moscow region, said meteorologist and leading specialist at the Phobos weather center Evgeny Tishkovets.

The thermometer at the capital's VDNKh weather station showed -5.2, which corresponds to the climate norm for March, Tishkovets noted. In other areas of Moscow, temperatures from -1 to -8.7 were recorded.

"In the Moscow region, the range of night temperatures was from -4.7 in Dmitrov to -15.7 in Serebryanye Prudy, and this corresponds to the long-term January figures. It was also winter-like cold in other regions of Central Russia, which found themselves in a bag of radiation cold," the meteorologist reported on his Telegram channel.

In particular, in the Tula and Ryazan regions, temperatures down to -12.5 were recorded in some places, in the Kaluga region - down to -13.6, in the Vladimir region - down to -11.6 degrees, Tishkovets noted.

US military shoots down Houthi drones as Trump''s strikes against terrorist group continue
[NYPOST] US warships have shot down roughly a dozen Houthi drones since President Donald Trump launched airstrikes against the terrorist organization on Saturday, Fox News has learned.

A senior defense official told Fox News of the developments on Sunday.

The drones were aimed at the US Navy's Truman Carrier Strike Group, and were shot down ''well before'' they posed a serious threat, the official added.

The latest military action came after nearly a year and a half of attacks from Houthis, both on commercial merchant vessels and US military ships.

In a Truth Social post on Saturday, Trump wrote that he had ''ordered the United States Military to launch decisive and powerful Military action against the Houthi terrorists in Yemen.''

''It has been over a year since a US-flagged commercial ship safely sailed through the Suez Canal, the Red Sea, or the Gulf of Aden,'' Trump continued. ''The last American Warship to go through the Red Sea, four months ago, was attacked by the Houthis over a dozen times.''

Death toll from US strikes on Yemen rises to 53
March 17, 2025
[HodhodYemenNews] The death toll from the US aggression on the Yemeni capital, Sana’a, and other Yemeni provinces has risen to 53 martyrs, the Health Ministry in Sana’a said.

The number of injured has risen to 98, including nine children and nine women, the ministry said.

The Ministry reiterated its condemnation of the US aggression and its targeting of civilian structures in Sana’a and several provinces, describing the attack on civilians and civilian infrastructure as war crimes, further adding to the US’s criminal record.

The aggression came a few days after the Yemeni Armed Forces resumed their maritime operation against Israeli-linked ships in the southern Red Sea, the Bab el-Mandeb Strait, the Gulf of Aden, and the Arabian Sea over the Tel Aviv regime’s blockade on Gaza.

[IsraelTimes] Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels claim responsibility for a second attack on an American aircraft carrier group in 24 hours, calling it retaliation for US strikes.

A spokesperson for the group says that “for the second time in 24 hours,” Houthi fighters launched missiles and drones at the USS Harry S. Truman and several of its warships in the northern Red Sea.

The statement also vows to keep targeting Israeli vessels until the “siege” on Gaza is lifted.

s on multiple provinces across Yemen in the past hours, calling it a blatant act of aggression.

According to the statement, the airstrikes targeted several areas in the provinces of Sanaa, Saada, al-Bayda, Hajjah, Dhamar, Marib, and al-Jawf.

The front man of Yemen’s armed forces, Yahya Sare’e, stated that the attacks resulted in numerous casualties, with dozens killed and injured in an initial toll, accusing the US of committing massacres against Yemeni civilians.

In response, the Yemeni Armed Forces confirmed they had targeted the US aircraft carrier USS Harry S. Truman and its accompanying warships in the northern Red Sea.

The attack involved 18 ballistic and cruise missiles, along with drones.

He stressed that the Yemeni armed forces will not hesitate to target all American warships in the Red Sea and the Arabian Sea in response to the aggression against our country.

The Yemeni military spokesperson reiterated that this American aggression will only increase dear Yemen and its steadfast, faithful, and fighting people in firmness, faith, and steadfastness.

Earlier Sunday from Hodhod Yemen News:
31 Yemeni civilians killed in US-British airstrikes across Yemen
The Ministry of Health announced that the death toll of the American-British aggression on civilians in the capital, Sana’a, and the provinces of Saada and Al-Bayda has risen to 132 martyrs and injured, most of whom are women and children.

In a statement, the ministry clarified that 31 civilians were martyred and 101 others were injured, most of them women and children, in an initial toll of the American aggression’s airstrikes.

Rubio says Yemen strikes to continue until Houthis can no longer attack ships
[IsraelTimes] US strikes on Yemen will continue until the Houthis no longer have the capability to attack global shipping and the US Navy, Secretary of State Marco Rubio tells the CBS News “Face the Nation” program.

He says there is no talk of US ground raids in Yemen, adding: “I don’t think there’s a necessity for it right now.”

Rubio also says that there is “no way” the Houthis would have the ability to attack global shipping without support from Iran.

Houthis Attack US Aircraft Carrier USS Harry Truman With Drones, Missiles
[Regnum] On the night of March 16, the US Air Force carried out 47 strikes on Yemen, in particular on the country's capital Sana'a. Houthi Health Ministry spokesman Anis al-Asbahi reported that the US strikes left more than 30 dead and more than 100 people injured.

Reuters: Yemeni Houthi attacks on USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier miss target
[Regnum] Yemeni Houthi drones attacked the USS Harry Truman aircraft carrier in the Red Sea. The strikes failed to hit their target, Reuters reported.

“American F-16 and F-18 fighter jets shot down a total of 11 drones launched by Yemen’s Houthis on March 16… The drones did not come close to the aircraft carrier Harry S. Truman, which played a key role in U.S. President Donald Trump’s strikes in Yemen,” the authors wrote.

US military strikes Galaxy Leader vessel seized by Houthis
[Regnum] US fighter jets carried out airstrikes on the Galaxy Leader ship captured by the Ansar Allah (Houthis) movement in 2023. This was reported by the Yemeni Al-Masirah TV channel.

The Bahamian-flagged cargo ship was hijacked by the Houthis in November 2023 while en route from Turkey to India. The Houthis believe that the real owner of the ship is Abraham Ungar, a major Israeli businessman. According to the channel, two raids were aimed at the captain's cabin of an Israeli ship near the coast of Hodeida.

As reported by Regnum news agency, from November 19 to January 18, the Houthis carried out at least 31 attacks on civilian vessels in the Red Sea using anti-ship ballistic and cruise missiles, as well as unmanned aerial vehicles.
More from Regnum:
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on March 15, American troops launched a large-scale operation against the Houthis. The US Armed Forces struck targets of the Ansar Allah movement in western Yemen. The outskirts of the city of Dhamar in the province of the same name were shelled. In addition, strikes were carried out on targets in the Ans district.
Update from the Times of Israel at much too early in the middle of the night (ET):
According to a US official speaking on condition of anonymity, the Houthis did fire drones and at least one missile in its first claimed attack. The official said that beginning at about midnight Saturday-Sunday local time in Yemen, the Houthis fired 11 drones and at least one missile over about 12 hours. Ten of the drones were intercepted by US Air Force fighter jets and one was intercepted by a Navy F/A-18 fighter jet. The missile fell into the water far from the ship, and nothing came close to hitting either the carrier or the warships in its strike group.

Washington has vowed to keep striking Yemen until the rebels stop attacking Red Sea shipping, with US President Donald Trump warning he will use “overwhelming lethal force.”

Houthi media reported more explosions on Sunday night, accusing the Americans of targeting a cotton ginning factory in the western region of Hodeida as well as the command cabin of the Galaxy Leader, an Israel-linked ship captured in November 2023. The Bahamas-flagged, Japanese-operated Galaxy Leader is owned by a British company, which in turn is partially owned by Israeli tycoon Abraham “Rami” Ungar. The Houthis freed its crew in January 2025.

Witkoff says he discussed demilitarizing Hamas during Doha meet with Arab leaders
[IsraelTimes] Asked whether the US is talking to specific countries about taking in Palestinians from Gaza, US special envoy to the Mideast Steve Witkoff avoids answering directly, saying the Trump administration is “exploring all alternatives and options that lead to a better life for Gazans.”

In the past, Witkoff and US President Donald Trump have pushed for Egypt and Jordan to take in Palestinians, though both countries have vehemently rejected the idea and have instead backed an Arab plan for the post-war management of Gaza that would allow Palestinians to remain in the Strip while it is being rebuilt.
No electricity, no clean water, no sewage system, rubble piled high over shaky foundations over tunnels, and the only work is digging new tunnels — they clearly hate the Gazans with the burning hate of a thousand suns.
Offering a similar update on the hostage negotiations as the one he gave on an earlier interview with CNN, Witkoff tells CBS’s “Face the Nation” that Hamas’s response to his bridge proposal was “not encouraging.”

During his visit to Doha on Wednesday to participate in hostage talks, Witkoff also met with top officials from Qatar, Egypt, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and the Palestinian Authority. He says the summit lasted seven and a half hours and discussed a final peace resolution for Gaza in which Hamas would be demilitarized, “which must happen — that’s a red line for the Israelis.”

The terror group has rejected this demand to date, but has privately told Arab mediators that it is prepared to give up governing control of Gaza, two senior Arab diplomats have told The Times of Israel.
Off to be the power behind the throne while the new guys, whoever they are, become the targets of Israel’s deadly ire — until Hamas is ready to throw off the hudna and repeat 10/7. Goody.
While in Doha, Witkoff also put forward a bridge proposal to extend the ongoing ceasefire between Israel and Hamas.

“Hamas came up with their own construct, which essentially disavowed what we discussed and to my mind that was a pretty poor ending,” Witkoff says. “I hope they reconsider because the alternative is not so good for them,” he adds.

Israel doesn’t expect Hamas to accept ‘Witkoff proposal,” says official

[IsraelTimes] Despite a series of statements reiterating Israel’s support for the “Witkoff proposal,” Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s aides do not believe Hamas will ever accept the outline, an Israeli official tells The Times of Israel.

“It’s not going to happen,” says the official. “Everyone is well aware of this.”

The “Witkoff proposal,” which US special envoy Steve Witkoff presented in Doha on Wednesday and detailed in part on Friday, has been said by Israel to call for half the living hostages to be released at the start of an extended ceasefire that would last until the end of the Passover holiday in mid-April, with the possibility of the rest of the hostages being released at the end of the period.

The official says Israel’s insistence that Hamas accept the proposal is a negotiating tactic. “The goal is to get more than just American hostages out because that’s not acceptable in Israel.”

Hamas on Friday offered to release the last living Israeli-US hostage, Edan Alexander, and return the bodies of four others with dual Israeli-US citizenship — Itay Chen, Omer Neutra, Gadi Haggai and Judy Weinstein — in return for extending the truce and the release of more Palestinian security prisoners. Both Israel and the US rejected the Hamas offer, with Witkoff indicating it was disingenuous.

If Hamas does not agree to release hostages who don’t have US citizenship, Israel will end the ceasefire, says the official. “There are war plans crafted. There won’t be an endless amount of time — several weeks at the very most.”

Israel is prepared to send a team back to Doha for talks, says the official, once given a “green light” by Washington.

IDF says it struck terror operative planting bombs in central Gaza
Another day, another bomb planted by Hamas in Gaza.
[IsraelTimes] The IDF says it carried out a drone strike a short while ago against a terror operative who was identified as trying to plant bombs in the ground in the Netzarim Corridor area of central Gaza, close to where Israeli troops are operating.

In recent weeks, amid the ceasefire, the IDF says it has carried out numerous strikes against Hamas operatives attempting to plant bombs.

Security forces foil plot by Arab Israeli to carry out Jerusalem Old City shooting attack
[IsraelTimes] Uday Mobarsham. 24, said to have consumed Hamas, ISIS content online; suspect bought rifle, began training; Shin Bet says thwarted attack could have caused ‘dangerous escalation’

Israel police and Shin Bet agents foiled a plot by an Arab Israeli to carry out a shooting terror attack in the Old City of Jerusalem during the Moslem holy month of Ramadan, it was announced Sunday.

The suspect, identified as 24-year-old Uday Mobarsham, a resident of the village of Makr in the north, was detained in February after he purchased a homemade rifle and began training with it.

During his interrogation, he said he planned to open fire on coppers or Jewish Israelis near the Old City’s Damascus Gate.

The Haifa District Attorney’s Office filed an indictment against Mobarsham, charging him with security offenses. He is currently in detention.

Per the indictment, the would-be attacker underwent a religious revival in 2022, in which he became engrossed with Salafist ideology and started consuming Hamas
..one of the armed feet of the Moslem Brüderbund millipede,...
and ISIS-related content online.

Mobarsham began seriously considering carrying out a terror attack after the Hamas-led onslaught on October 7, 2023, expressing his desire to do so in writing. "Ramadan is coming, brother. The war is at the door," he apparently wrote to his friend in February 2024, a year prior to his arrest.

Before police arrested him on February 11, Mobarsham passed his gun along to his brother, Adham, telling him to hide it somewhere far from their family home.

Police found the gun in Adham’s possession and arrested him also. The main suspect apparently tried to recruit several others in his terror plot, whom police also detained for questioning.

Prosecutors charged Mobarsham’s brother with possessing an illegal weapon, a criminal offense, on Friday.

"Foiling this attack was significant, given that we assess that if his plan had been carried out during Ramadan it could have undermined the quiet and led to a dangerous escalation in the Jerusalem area during a period of high security tensions," a Shin Bet source said.

Police have kept Jerusalem’s Old City under tight watch during Ramadan, especially in light of tensions surrounding the Gazoo

war.

The site is the holiest place in Judaism, where two biblical Temples once stood, and the al-Aqsa Mosque is the third-holiest shrine in Islam, making the site a perennial flashpoint of the Israeli-Paleostinian conflict.

Ahead of Ramadan in February, the Hamas terror group called on Paleostinian Moslems in the West Bank and East Jerusalem, as well as Arab Israelis, to travel to the Temple Mount in large numbers and oppose what it said were attempts by Israel to "desecrate and control" the site using "any means."

The White House said in a statement that it wasn't defying the court but at the same time argued that it was perfectly within its rights to ignore the judge's ruling.

"A single judge in a single city cannot direct the movements of an aircraft carrier full of foreign alien holy warriors who were physically expelled from US soil," White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt said in a statement.

A federal judge in Washington, DC, had earlier blocked President Donald Trump

Trump had sought to use the Act's seldom-used wartime powers to rapidly deport alleged members of Tren de Aragua, a Venezuelan gang that has been linked to kidnapping, extortion and contract killings.

In a Saturday evening hearing, US District Judge James Boasberg blocked the use of the law for 14 days, saying the statute refers to "hostile acts" perpetrated by another country that are "commensurate to war."

During the hearing, Boasberg said that any flights carrying migrants colonists processed under the law should return to the US His written notice hit the case docket at 7:25 pm.
