You have to be careful of those bitty things, Frank G. Mr. Wife’s chemical engineering study partner was one of those, and drank him under the table every time. No mere hollow leg for her — she was hollow to the end of her long hair. I’m a cheap date, though, so statistically that’s a probability of 50%. ;-)
Last week, Grant Miner, a Columbia graduate student who was expelled earlier this month for overtaking Hamilton Hall, gave a speech on campus, telling anti-Israel protesters they had to "fight back."
Miner, the president of Columbia's radical graduate student union, Student Workers of Columbia, led a chant before giving the speech on the steps of Low Memorial Library, an administrative building. The union organized the protest, demanding "No research cuts. No ICE. No censorship. No layoffs."
Totally not reality based. Given that the feds have stopped all the money, where is the research funding to come from? And given that ICE is a federal super police, how is Columbia to keep them out?
A group of prospective students and their families are getting a real taste of @Columbia, as they walk past the students who have chained themselves to the gates of the school. This is what $90K per year gets you!

[HodhodYemenNews] Over the past 24 hours, hospitals in the Gaza Strip received the bodies of 60 martyrs and 162 people suffering from different injuries following Israeli attacks.
According to Gaza’s health ministry on Saturday, since the Israeli occupation army resumed its brutal war on Gaza on March 18, 2025, a total of 1,309 people have been killed and 3,184 others have been injured.
The new fatalities increased the death toll from the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which started on October 7, 2023, to 50,669 martyrs. The number of the wounded also surged to 115,225 people.
Meanwhile, efforts are underway to recover the bodies of more martyrs who are still missing in different areas of the Gaza Strip.
[IsraelTimes] This week, the IDF’s Paratroopers Brigade raided an army post belonging to the former Syrian regime, where the soldiers located tanks, APCs, and artillery systems, the military says.
The troops also located dozens of mortars and rockets. The IDF says the weaponry was destroyed or seized.
The IDF has been deployed to nine posts inside southern Syria since the fall of the Assad regime in December, mostly within a UN-patrolled buffer zone on the border between the countries.
Troops have been operating in areas up to around 15 kilometers deep into Syria, aiming to capture weapons that Israel says could pose a threat to the country if they fall into the hands of "hostile forces."
Israeli officials have said that they seek to completely demilitarize the southern Syria area and not allow any gangs to enter it and gain a foothold, including those of the new Syrian government.

[IsraelTimes] The IDF releases footage from the entry of the 36th Division into the so-called Morag Corridor, located between southern Gaza’s Rafah and Khan Younis, last week.
It marks the first time since the beginning of the war that ground troops are operating in the area.
The division entered the corridor area on Wednesday, following a night of intensive airstrikes and evacuation warnings.
The military says it is operating in the Morag Corridor and in Rafah to demolish the remaining Hamas infrastructure.
[HodhodYemenNews] A civilian was killed and four others injured on Saturday evening when the American aggression warplanes launched airstrikes on the Hafsin area in Sahar district in Yemen’s northern province of Saada, Yemen’s state news agency SABA reported, citing a security source.
A security source in Saada told SABA that four US airstrikes targeted a solar panel shop and a citizen’s home in Hafsin area, killing one and wounding four others, in initial toll.
The source indicated that civil defense teams are working to out fires in the shop caused by the strikes.
Suspected US airstrikes killed at least two people overnight in a stronghold of Yemen’s Houthi rebels, the group says, as a bombing video posted by US President Donald Trump suggested casualties in the campaign may be higher than the rebels acknowledge.
The strikes in Saada killed two people and wounded four others, with footage aired by the Houthis’ al-Masirah satellite news channel showing a strike collapsing what appeared to be a two-story building. The Iranian-backed Houthis air no footage from inside the building, which they describe as a solar power shop.
[IsraelTimes] Over 100 chemical weapons sites are suspected to remain in Syria, The New York Times reports.
The report cites estimations by the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons.
The sites are thought to have been for the development and research of chemical weapons under the regime of deposed Syrian leader Bashar Assad, the Times says. Some of the sites could be hidden in caves or other hard-to-identify locations, the report says.
The newspaper notes that the chemical weapons stockpiles could include the sarin nerve agent, as well as chlorine and mustard gas.
Experts tell the newspaper that there are concerns that the chemical weapons could fall into the hands of extremists and terror groups.
Syria agreed to give up its chemical weapons stockpile in 2013, after the government was accused of launching an attack near Damascus that killed hundreds of people. However, it is widely believed to have kept some of the weapons and was accused of using them again in subsequent years.
Israel has said it struck suspected chemical weapons sites and long-range rockets in Syria, saying it did so in order to prevent them from falling into the hands of hostile actors.
[IsraelTimes] The Saudi Al-Hadath channel reports that the US has transferred a second THAAD battery to Israel amid rising tensions over Iran’s nuclear program.
The battery was apparently delivered yesterday.
Flight tracking websites showed that an American C-5M Super Galaxy, the US Air Force’s largest transport plane, landed at the Nevatim Airbase in southern Israel and remained there for around eight hours before taking off again.
The THAAD, or Terminal High Altitude Area Defense System, is an advanced anti-missile system.
The THAAD system deployed to Israel has been used to intercept several missiles fired at Israel by the Iran-backed Houthis in Yemen, including in recent weeks.
Last week, US President Donald Trump threatened Iran with “bombing” and secondary tariffs if Tehran did not come to an agreement with Washington over its nuclear program.
The first THAAD battery was rushed to Israel last year, and around 100 US troops are thought to be deployed to operate the system, which is considered complementary to the Patriot system but can defend a wider area, capable of hitting targets at ranges of 150-200 kilometers (93-124 miles).
Last year, Israel carried out a wave of retaliatory airstrikes on Iran after Tehran carried out a second missile attack on Israel.
Israeli jets targeted Iranian air defenses as well as its ballistic missile program, striking factories, storage sites, launchers and research facilities, and targeting one facility believed to be used for the regime’s pursuit of a nuclear weapon.
Iran’s nuclear sites are also widely seen as more vulnerable, with many of Tehran’s proxies now weakened.
[HodhodYemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... News] Despite weeks of US Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s and $200 million in munitions, Ansarullah’s missile capabilities remain largely intact, officials told the New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... US efforts to destroy Ansarullah’s vast arsenal of missiles, drones, and bombers have had limited success, the New York Times reported on Friday, citing Pentagon officials.
According to three congressional and allied officials who spoke to the newspaper, the Yemeni movement Ansarullah has reinforced many of its hideouts and strategic sites, making it difficult for US forces to significantly disrupt missile attacks.
"In closed briefings in recent days, Pentagon officials have acknowledged that there has been only limited success in destroying the Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. They have also been referred to as the Believing Youth. Hussein Badreddin al-Houthi is said to be the spiritual leader of the group and most of the military leaders are his relatives. The legitimate Yemeni government has accused the them of having ties to the Iranian government. Honest they did. The group has managed to gain control over all of Saada Governorate and parts of Amran, Al Jawf and Hajjah Governorates. Its slogan is God is Great, Death to America™, Death to Israel, a curse on the Jews They like shooting off... ummm... missiles that they would have us believe they make at home in their basements. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s’ vast, largely underground arsenal of missiles, drones and launchers, according to congressional aides and allies," the report noted.
The paper also highlighted the financial and operational costs of the US campaign.
"In just three weeks, the Pentagon has used $200 million worth of munitions, in addition to the immense operational and personnel costs to deploy two aircraft carriers, additional B-2 bombers and fighter jets, as well as Patriot and THAAD air defenses to the Middle East," the report said, citing an official.
According to the sources, the US air campaign against Ansarullah could last at least six months.
"The total cost could be well over $1 billion by next week, and the Pentagon might soon need to request supplemental funds from Congress," the Times said.
The officials confirmed that "Trump administration officials say the air and naval strikes are intended to pressure the Houthis (Ansarullah — PC) to halt attacks that have disrupted international shipping lanes in the Red Sea for more than a year."

Street prices. It is cheaper wholesale, plus there is a quantity discount. Still, the Hoots should be flattered we care about them enough to spend all that money blowing them up.
I wonder how much Iran has invested in this adventure so far.
[ShabelleMedia] The Somali National Intelligence and Security Agency (NISA) has announced that more than 80 members of al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... were killed during operations conducted over the past two weeks in the Middle and Lower Shabelle regions.
According to a statement released by NISA today, at least six operations were carried out across the two regions, resulting in the deaths of al-Shabaab leaders and fighters.
The country’s spy agency added that these operations included direct combat as well as Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s targeting the group, which is linked with the al-Qaeda network.
The operations took place between March 29 and April 5, with NISA reporting that they were conducted within a span of six days, excluding three days in the current month.
The operations saw a significant increase in frequency, as the Somali government, in coordination with local defense forces, stepped up efforts against al-Shabaab fighters operating in both regions.
These operations are part of ongoing efforts by the Somali government to push back al-Shabaab snuffies and reclaim territory controlled by the group in southern Somalia.
[KhaamaPress] Sixteen migrants colonistsbit the dust after two boats sank in the waters between The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund... and Greece, according to officials.
Authorities in Turkey and Greece have confirmed that at least 16 people have died after two migrant boats sank in the Aegean Sea. The tragedy occurred between the two countries, highlighting the continuing dangers faced by migrants colonists seeking to reach Europe.
The Greek Coast Guard reported that 66 migrants colonists were aboard the two boats, which sank on Thursday, April 3. Among the survivors, 23 people, including 11 children and 4 women, were rescued from a small 5-meter boat.
Unfortunately, seven bodies were recovered from the water, including the remains of three women and two girls. A teenage girl remains missing, and her fate is yet to be determined.
Local authorities in the Ottoman Turkish city of Canakkale confirmed that a separate boat disaster resulted in the deaths of at least nine people. Rescue teams managed to save 25 individuals, and a search for a missing person is ongoing.
The incident underscores the growing number of migrants colonists attempting dangerous crossings to Europe, with over 54,000 refugees traveling via the Eastern Mediterranean route last year. The UN reported 125 migrant deaths along this route in 2024.
[KhaamaPress] The UK will resettle 300 citizens of Afghanistan under its national resettlement program, offering them permanent housing and support services.
The Bracknell Forest Council in the UK announced plans to resettle around 300 citizens of Afghanistan under the national Afghan resettlement program. These individuals fled Afghanistan after the Taliban ...Arabic for students... ’s takeover, with many having previously worked with British missions or facing direct threats from the Taliban. The resettlement program is part of the UK’s continued support for citizens of Afghanistan who are at risk.
The council’s announcement, made on Friday, April 4, clarified that those resettled will receive permanent residency in the UK, ensuring they are not classified as refugees or illegal migrants colonists. These Afghan nationals are eligible for permanent settlement in Britannia and will receive support under the UK’s Afghan resettlement initiative, which has been actively assisting those displaced by the Taliban’s rule.
The Afghan citizens will be relocated in three stages during the spring of 2023. Initially, they will reside in temporary accommodation for up to nine months while permanent housing arrangements are made. The exact locations of these temporary housing facilities have not been disclosed to ensure the safety and mental well-being of the residents.
Bracknell Forest Council chair, Mary Temperton, emphasized the importance of community solidarity. She urged local residents to welcome these Afghan families with "kindness, dignity, and respect." Temperton highlighted the community’s historical solidarity with war victims, calling on residents to provide a safe and welcoming environment for the newcomers.
The UK government is funding the resettlement program, and the financial burden will not fall on local residents. The scheme will also have no impact on the waiting list for housing for British citizens. The Defence Ministry and the Bracknell local council are collaborating to ensure a smooth process, which also includes healthcare services through the NHS Frimley for the new arrivals.
Following the Taliban’s takeover in August 2021, thousands of Afghan citizens who had worked with Western nations, particularly the UK, were at risk of persecution. The UK government swiftly initiated evacuation and resettlement programs to assist these individuals, and thousands of Afghan families have since been settled across various UK cities.
The resettlement plan has received praise for its comprehensive approach, ensuring that Afghan families have access to both shelter and essential services during their transition. It also reflects the UK’s commitment to supporting those in need due to the geopolitical crisis caused by the Taliban’s return to power.
[KhaamaPress] Pakistain has urged the UN Security Council to take action against the growing illicit arms trade flourishing in Afghanistan.
Like that would ever work.
Pakistain has urged the United Nations ...a lucrative dumping ground for the relatives of dictators and party hacks... Security Council to halt terrorists’ access to weapons in Afghanistan. The request comes amid rising concerns about the proliferation of arms to various Death Eater groups.
Pak media reported on Saturday, April 5, that weapons have been supplied to the Tehrik-e-Taliban ...mindless ferocity in a turban... Pakistain (TTP), Baloch Liberation Army, and the Brigades of Majid from Afghanistan. These groups are actively involved in insurgencies across Pakistain.
Sayed Atif Reza, a representative from Pakistain’s Permanent Mission to the United Nations, raised alarms at the UN Security Council about the increase in arms trafficking. He urged the council to take serious measures to curb the growing black market for weapons in Afghanistan.
This statement follows a report from a Geneva-based organization, which highlighted a surge in the illegal arms trade in eastern and border regions of Pakistain. The report documents a rise in both light and heavy weapon sales, particularly in areas affected by militancy.
The report, titled "Documenting Access to Weapons in Afghanistan," sheds light on the continued arms trafficking in the region. It shows that weapons from the Soviet era and NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... are easily available in informal markets, posing a significant security threat.
The situation in Pakistain has been further complicated by the growing tension between the Taliban and Pakistain. Increased cross-border violence has led to a sharp rise in casualties, particularly in Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan ...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... . March recorded the highest number of casualties in a decade, raising alarms about the stability of the region.
The escalation of Death Eater activity in these regions has made security operations more challenging for Pak authorities. The Taliban’s growing influence in Afghanistan, coupled with its support for Lions of Islam targeting Pakistain, is contributing to the destabilization of the border areas.
This ongoing conflict is straining Pakistain’s security forces, as the influx of weapons from Afghanistan exacerbates the situation. The situation calls for urgent international cooperation to curb the illegal arms trade and address the rising Death Eater threats to Pakistain’s stability.

Opponents of the Republican president’s policies — from government staffing cuts to trade tariffs and eroding civil liberties — rally in Washington, New York, Houston, Florida, Colorado and Los Angeles, among other locations.
So-called Hands Off! demonstrations are organized for more than 1,200 locations in all 50 US states by more than 150 groups, including civil rights organizations, labor unions, LBGTQ advocates, veterans and elections activists. The rallies appear peaceful, with no immediate reports of arrests.
Peaceful or “mostly peaceful”?
Protesters assail Trump and billionaire Elon Musk’s actions on government downsizing, the economy, immigration and human rights. On the West Coast, in the shadow of Seattle’s iconic Space Needle, protesters hold signs with slogans like “Fight the oligarchy.”
Demonstrators voice anger over the administration’s moves to fire thousands of federal workers, close Social Security Administration field offices, effectively shutter entire agencies, deport immigrants, scale back protections for transgender people and cut funding for health programs.
Musk, a Trump adviser who runs Tesla, SpaceX and the social media platform X, has played a key role in the downsizing as the head of the newly created Department of Government Efficiency. He says he is saving taxpayers billions of dollars.
Asked about the protests, the White House says in a statement that “President Trump’s position is clear: he will always protect Social Security, Medicare, and Medicaid for eligible beneficiaries. Meanwhile, the Democrats’ stance is giving Social Security, Medicaid, and Medicare benefits to illegal aliens, which will bankrupt these programs and crush American seniors.”

Democrats Activate NGO Machine For Weekend Color Revolution Operation Against Trump
[ZeroHedge] The Democratic Party's favorability among Americans has plunged to a record low. In an attempt to reverse this decline, the rudderless party of leftist lunatics has openly launched a domestic color revolution—facilitated by a shadowy network of billionaire-funded NGOs.
Initially, the operation targeted Elon Musk and DOGE; now, the leftist NGO machine is gaining momentum and redirecting total mobilization efforts at President Trump on Saturday in nationwide protests called "Hands Off!"...
Hands Off 2025's website shows that 186 NGOs, unions, and other leftist groups support the mass mobilization effort of crazed leftists.
Color revolutions have generally been used in overseas operations by US intelligence agencies for regime change purposes. The American people have seen domestic color revolutions before, such as the BLM riots, which were aimed at manipulating public sentiment, shaping perception, and controlling the emotional atmosphere during Trump's first term.
Now, the unhinged Democratic Party is at it again, trying to build on Tesla protests and Molotov cocktailings of showrooms and vehicles by using mass protests and civil disobedience to shape sentiment around Trump in his second term.
The only problem Democrats ...every time you hear the phrase white people, white supremacy, white anything but paint, you're listening to a Democrat. Ask him/her/it to reimagine something for you; they do that a lot, though not well. They can hear a dog whistle a mile or two away. They invented the spoils system and Tammany Hall, and inspired the addition of the word (Thomas) Nasty to the English language. They want to stop continental drift and repeal the law of unintended side effects... face this time is that a taxpayer-funded color revolution—channeled through USAID into their NGO network—will be much harder to pull off now that grant awards have been frozen and USAID has been rolled into the State Department, with Secretary of State Marco Rubio ...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration... providing oversight.

I understand there were many buses in DC this week, as a number of churches had Christian Support gatherings for the Trump MAGA and return to moral normalcy agenda.
[Red State] When White House spokeswoman Karoline Leavitt reacted by saying, "We suggest the Judge contact [El Salvador’s] President [Nayib] Bukele because we are unaware of the judge having jurisdiction or authority over the country of El Salvador," it struck me, and many others, as the kind of remark you can make if you are in no danger of facing the judge in a courtroom. As it turned out, she perfectly captured the tone of the administration's request for a stay of her order.
High Points
The first response was that the judge's order is impossible to comply with.
The district court’s order—a command to "facilitate and effectuate" Abrego Garcia’s return from a foreign country by midnight on Monday—is unlawful. There is no likelihood that it would survive review on appeal.
The order below is neither possible nor proper. As noted, Abrego Garcia is an El Salvadoran national, being held in El Salvador, at the hands of the El Salvadoran government.
Because the United States has no control over Abrego Garcia, however, Defendants have no independent authority to "effectuate" his return to the United States—any more than they would have the power to follow a court order commanding them to "effectuate" the end of the war in Ukraine, or a return of the hostages from Gaza. And then
Even putting aside these fundamental defects, the order below also runs into a statutory bar. Section 1252(g) strips district courts of jurisdiction to review "any cause or claim by or on behalf of any alien arising from the decision or action by the Attorney General to ... execute removal orders 11 against any alien" under the INA, except as otherwise provided in § 1252. 8 U.S.C. § 1252(g) (emphasis added). This is such a suit. The district court thus lacked jurisdiction over this case, and lacked authority to issue its order.
Final Word
The government's brief conclusively takes apart every aspect of Garcia's case. He had a deportation order; he had MS-13 connections that make him ineligible to enter the US; and the judge not only doesn't have the clout to make El Salvador send him back to the US, she isn't legally allowed to hear the case.
This case is headed to the Fourth Circuit, where we can hope they will give Judge Xinis's desire to possess magical powers short shrift.

It appears the Obama-Biden judiciary appointment lack basic understanding of law and statutes. "What is a women?" was clear evidence they lacked credibility.
[Epoch Times] Despite joining the WTO in 2001, China did not evolve into the fully-fledged market economy that the United States had anticipated.
China's economic growth has accelerated dramatically since the country joined the WTO. However, the Chinese Communist Party’s trade-distorting practices, such as intellectual property theft, massive state subsidies, currency manipulation, wage suppression, and labor rights violations, have led to the closure of many U.S. manufacturers and the loss of millions of U.S. jobs.
There is a bipartisan view in Washington on the need to address China’s market practices.
Before the November election last year, President Joe Biden’s National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan defended tariffs against China. "Previous efforts to build a China policy on changing China have not succeeded," Sullivan said on Oct. 24.
As a result, he said, the United States must adopt a new set of strategies based on the current geopolitical and economic realities.
During his first term, Trump imposed tariffs on more than $300 billion worth of Chinese goods in response to various unfair trade practices, including intellectual property theft.
The Biden administration chose to maintain those tariffs and announced additional tariffs on products such as electric vehicles (EVs), solar panels, medical equipment, lithium-ion batteries, steel, and aluminum.
Both administrations have used tariffs to level the playing field for domestic manufacturers and American workers.
Nick Iacovella, executive vice president for the Coalition for a Prosperous America, an organization that represents domestic producers and workers, said that Trump’s new tariffs will address the decades of deindustrialization in the United States. "It is incredibly important that those tariffs actually stay in place."
For decades, there has been a disconnect between Wall Street and Main Street, Iacovella said, commenting on the recent market reaction to the global tariffs. "When automakers moved their jobs to Mexico, their stock prices went up, but car prices didn’t decrease for American consumers," he said.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The U.S. government has banned American government personnel in China, as well as family members and contractors with security clearances, from any romantic or sexual relationships with Chinese citizens, The Associated Press has learned. Eric Swalwell, D-Calif. granted lifetime, global exemption from ban.
Four people with direct knowledge of the matter told the AP about the policy, which was put into effect by departing U.S. Ambassador Nicholas Burns in January shortly before he left China. The people would speak only on condition of anonymity to discuss details of a confidential new directive.
Though some U.S. agencies already had strict rules on such relationships, a blanket "non-fraternization" policy, as it is known, has been unheard of publicly since the Cold War. It’s not uncommon for American diplomats in other countries to date locals and even marry them.
A more limited version of the policy was enacted last summer prohibiting U.S. personnel from "romantic and sexual relations" with Chinese citizens working as guards and other support staff at the U.S. Embassy and five consulates in China. But Burns, the departing ambassador, broadened it to a blanket ban on such relations with any Chinese citizen in China in January, days before President Donald Trump took office. The AP was unable to determine exactly how the policy defined the phrase "romantic or sexual relationship."
Two of the people with knowledge of the ban told the AP the new policy was first discussed last summer after members of Congress contacted Burns to express concern that restrictions on such relationships were not stringent enough. The House Select Committee on the Chinese Communist Party did not respond to a request for comment.
[TWZ] The push for new authorization to engage drones comes as Mexican cartels are increasingly using them over the border for surveillance and smuggling.
The general in charge of defending U.S. skies from drone incursions wants the authority to be able to shoot them down near the Mexican border. Current law greatly restricts U.S. military counter-drone responses, which you can read more about in our deep dive here.
Air Force Gen. Gregory M. Guillot testified to the House Armed Services Committee on Tuesday that since President Donald Trump took office, he “proposed…a change to the rule of force.” It would “allow us to shoot down or bring down drones that are surveilling over our deployed and mobile troops…not just that are in self-defense, but anything that’s surveilling and planning the next attack on us within five miles of the border.”
“Because they’re mobile,” U.S. troops on the border are not allowed to take down drones under current law, Guillot, the commander of U.S. Northern Command (NORTHCOM) and the joint U.S.-Canadian North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD), added.
His testimony came as Mexican drug cartels have been steadily increasing their use of weaponized uncrewed aerial systems (UAS), as well as unarmed types for surveillance and smuggling. The issue has been so concerning that the U.S. Army recently deployed ground-based radars along the border to help spot and track drones as part of the continued build-up of U.S. military support there. You can read more about that in our in-depth story here. The Trump administration has made border security one of its major priorities.
The issue of drones flying over the border is not new. As we have reported in the past, pilots have reported seeing and having near misses with them in the skies near Arizona ranges and military bases for years.
Guillot also repeated his call to enable all continental U.S. bases to take action against drones. He also wants to increase the range at which those actions can take place. At present, only about half of the 360 bases in the U.S. – considered “covered installations” – even have permission to defend against drones.
“We’re working with the services and with the [Defense] Department to increase not only the capability but also to expand the authorities,” Guillot explained. “We have to knock out not only aircraft or UAS that are a direct threat, but also that are surveilling over the installation. I’d like to even see it expanded beyond the installation to ensure they can’t see anything sensitive on our bases.”
Expanding the perimeter where counter-drone actions can take place also increases the chances of identifying and capturing the drone operators, Guillot explained.
Guillot testified that he wants increased ability to take action granted under a federal law known as “130(i).” The subsection of Title 10 of the U.S. Code (10 USC 130i) covers current authorities for the “protection of certain facilities and assets from unmanned aircraft,” including through the use of kinetic and non-kinetic capabilities. It contains a number of specific stipulations and where and when those authorities can actually be employed, which you can read more about here.
Any change in those authorities, which Congress is considering, would be on top of the Pentagon’s counter-drone strategy released in the last days of the Biden administration, which you can read more about here.
As we previously reported, the U.S. is not fielding kinetic and directed energy capabilities, such as laser and high-power microwave weapons, surface-to-air interceptors, and gun systems, to defend domestic bases and other critical infrastructure from rapidly growing and evolving drone threats. Instead, the focus is on electronic warfare and cyber warfare, and other ‘soft-kill’ options, at least for now.
[GatewayPundit] By now, it surprises absolutely no one to learn that the European Union Globalists and her powerful Commissioner Ursula von der Leyen are guilty of weaponizing the continent’s powers against their political enemies and the patriotic forces that oppose their suicidal policies.
After years of heavy criticism and scrutiny, the EU Commission has officially admitted a huge scandal: Brussels paid millions to environmental associations – but not only, mind you, for the nonsense ‘climate work’. What the EU was actually financing were targeted campaigns against political opponents and dissenting voices.
Austrian News Site Exxpress reported (translated from the German):
“The suspicion has been around for years, but now it is official: The EU Commission under Ursula von der Leyen has supported environmental organizations with taxpayers’ money – not only for climate and environmental protection, but also for political smear campaigns. The aim of the funded NGOs was to specifically attack critics of Brussels’ climate policy.
The explosive admission: In an official statement, the Commission admits that there have been “inappropriate lobbying activities” in funded NGO programs. This apparently refers to targeted attacks on political opponents who opposed individual EU plans.”
A Commission Statement on the ‘LIFE’ Programs from April 1st contains the stunning admission: ‘The Commission notes that the work programs submitted by the NGOs […] contained specific advocacy actions and undue lobbying activities’.
Below the euphemistic and normalizing language, what it says is that von der Leyen spent millions of Euros subsidizing propaganda.
The ‘LIFE’ funding program is intended to ‘promote environmental projects and climate measures’ (a.k.a. ‘Global warming’ nonsense).
“But as it turns out, organizations that used these funds to mobilize against conservative politicians and critical voices were also paid.
Internal documents had previously spoken of ‘cooperations’ with NGOs, in which it was agreed against whom to lobby. Now Brussels admits for the first time: Yes, there were such cases – and yes, they were problematic.”
[RedState] Oh, now Barack Obama is concerned. He wasn't concerned when Joe Biden was throwing the borders open to who-knows-who from who-knows-where, a mess that the Trump administration is trying to clean up. He wasn't concerned when our federal government was turning the money printers on High and cranking out trillions in fiat dollars that caused inflation to spike, a mess that the Trump administration is trying to clean up. And he wasn't concerned with Iran's resurgence as the number-one state sponsor of Islamic terrorism after Joe Biden relaxed sanctions on the rogue nation, a mess that the Trump administration is trying to clean up.
No, now the former president is concerned about the Trump administration trying to clean all this up.
Obama rebuked Trump without explicitly naming him over the federal government's threats against universities and students who exercise free speech, its targeting of law firms, and the new tariffs imposed on foreign countries.
"I don’t think what we just witnessed in terms of economic policy and tariffs is going to be good for America, but that’s a specific policy," Obama said in his remarks at Hamilton College in New York. "I’m more deeply concerned with a federal government that threatens universities if they don’t give up students who are exercising their right to free speech," he said.
Note how all this is framed. Barack Obama is, to put it very bluntly, lying through his teeth.
The federal government is not making "threats against universities." Nor are they targeting "students who exercise free speech." The Trump administration is putting pressure on universities who look the other way or take meaningless, symbolic actions when campuses are taken over by radicals who support Islamic terror groups like Hamas, radicals who conceal their identities with masks, who call for the destruction of Israel, who attack Jewish students, who take over and occupy campus buildings. That is well beyond the bounds of free speech. That is domestic terrorism, using violence or the threat of violence to push a political agenda.
Furthermore, many of these "students" are here on student visas, many from the very countries who have the destruction of Israel - the United States' best ally in the Middle East - as a matter of national policy. There's no reason why we, as a nation, should tolerate this, and the Trump administration is correct in identifying these people and sending them home. A visa is not a guarantee; these people are guests in the United States and are here only as long as they behave.
Worse, Barack Obama is no one to be running his mouth on this. As my Townhall colleague Matt Vespa points out, Obama's own hands are far from clean.
The former president did the ‘could you imagine’ game, where he lists what the Trump administration has done that he finds disagreeable regarding pro-terrorist students in our colleges—we’re deporting them—or yanking press access to media outlets—which isn’t new.
“Imagine if I had done any of this,” said Obama.
The issue here Barry is that you did: You spied on former Fox News reporter James Rosen, even naming his as a spy in court affidavits, you seized the phone records of a dozen Associated Press reporters, there’s palace intrigue regarding meetings with the brass of the Internal Revenue Service which led to the reported targeting of conservative non-profit groups. Mr. President, you were quite Nixonian when it came to leakers and whistleblowers, turned down more FOIA requests than any other administration in history, and your Department of Justice engaged in a prolonged and illegal spy operation against the candidate of the rival party on trumped-up and now thoroughly debunked charges of Russian collusion.
Interestingly, Democrats will still listen to Barack Obama, who was only a mediocre president on the best day he ever had. When he was elected, his resume wasn't even a mile wide and an inch deep; it was an inch wide and an inch deep. He was lauded as an orator, but when speaking extemporaneously, he is awful. One really good measure of intelligence, in fact, is the ability to speak extemporaneously. Ronald Reagan was good at that, Donald Trump is good at that, and to be fair, Bill Clinton was as well. Barack Obama is terrible; listening to him speak off-prompter is about as much fun as having a prostate biopsy.
So, why do Democrats still put Barack Obama on a pedestal? Simple: He's all they've got. Bill Clinton is pretty old now and not in the best of health. Joe Biden has disappeared from view and is likely drooling into a bib somewhere. The less said about Kamala Harris, the better. And there are still a few Democrats who realize that AOC, Jasmine Crockett, and their ilk are barking nuts.
That's why, when we read that Barack Obama is "concerned" about the Trump administration, we should ask, "Who cares?"

Barry understands from his time as a 'community organizer', that you have to keep feeding new people into the activist machine at the bottom. The vast majority quit or drift away at some point.

Of course he is, our schools are the breeding ground of socialism and the far left ideology. Why is it that Islamic states send billions to our universities? Same for the Chinese. Hussan is worried about the long game of destroying our constitution and turning us into a 3rd world state.

[BBC] Norway's proximity to the USSR during the Cold War led to it building many military bunkers – some of them vast secret bases for planes and ships. Tensions with Russia have brought the bunkers back into focus.
Tourists in their hundreds of thousands visit northern Norway each year. But there is a secret world they never see. For hidden away in mountain caverns are jet fighters and nuclear submarines.
Norway is a land with many bunkers. At the peak of the Cold War, the sparsely populated, mountainous country had around 3,000 underground facilities where its armed forces and allies could hide and make life difficult for any invader. Dating back to when the Scandinavian country was part of Hitler's Atlantic Wall during World War Two and even earlier, their existence was barely known to the Norwegian public.
Now as a European war engulfs eastern Ukraine, Norway is reactivating two of their most iconic underground structures of the Cold War.
Close to Norway's border with Russia north of the Arctic Circle, the hangars of the Bardufoss Air Station and the naval base at Olavsvern feel like they belong in a spy film, with their rough rock walls, gleaming concrete and military equipment. Carved out of a mountain side, protected by around 900ft (275m) of tough gabbro rock, the Olasvern base is particularly evocative with its 3,000ft-long (909m) exit tunnel complete with massive blast door.
Why are these huge bunkers needed today? The Soviet Union – the reason they were built in the first place – no longer exists. Does it really make sense to pour money into such expensive structures?
Now, Bardufoss looks like it may be needed once more.
The role of the reactivated base which has had structural and equipment upgrades is to help the "resilience and survivability" of Norway's F-35s in the face of a Russian attack. The Russian invasion of Ukraine has shown the world how vulnerable expensive military aircraft like these $80m–$110m (£64m to £80m) F-35s can be when on the ground, particularly to attacks by "kamikaze" drones that can cost as little as $300 (£230).
Instead of placing tyres on wings or constructing hangars out of wire mesh, as the Russians have done in Ukraine, the drone threat can be limited by dispersing targets to many different locations, or, even better, by keeping the aircraft safe in hardened shelters – the hardest of which is a mountain.
All it takes is one look at the map to explain why Olavsvern naval base was built. Located close to where the Norwegian Sea meets the Barents Sea, the 400 miles (650km) or so between Norway's coastline, Bear Island and Svalbard is sometimes called "the Bear Gap" because this was, and still is, a choke point for Russian submarines and warships hearding out to the Atlantic.
The reason for the reactivation of these bases is simple: Russia.
Norway's security concerns didn't start in 2022 – when Russia invaded Ukraine – or in 2014, when it invaded Crimea, but even earlier. "In around 2006-2008, there was a confluence of things. There was a lot of investment going into Russia's Northern Fleet," says Andreas Østhagen, a senior research fellow at Fridtjof Nansen Institute, a Norwegian foundation, "along with the resumption of Russian military exercises in the Arctic for the first time since the Cold War, and Russia's growing interest in the exploitation of Arctic resources".
"Putin's Russia is not the Soviet Union," Østhagen adds. "But from a Norwegian security point of view there are the same issues. How do you deter Russia and, if you end up in a war, how do you fight Russia?"
The Norwegians aren't the only ones reactivating Cold War bases. The Russians have also in recent years reactivated around 50 Cold War bases of varying kinds across the Arctic. The Swedish navy has returned to its underground naval base on Muskö island, about 25 miles (40km) from Stockholm.
Other countries have gone further than simply reactivating bunkers built decades before; they are building new underground structures. China has built a massive new underground submarine base on Hainan Island in the contested South China Sea. It is also building a vast new underground command centre near the capital, Beijing. Iran has built its own underground naval base in the Persian Gulf and showed off its "underground missile city."
"The psychology of nuclear bunkers is really, really powerful," says independent cold war researcher, and military blogger known as Sir Humphrey, the blogging name of the author of the Thin Pinstriped Line blog, which studies the Cold War. "I think they are deeply rooted into our psyche and our understanding of the Cold War, particularly of a Dr Strangelove command centre with an out-of-control general sitting there."

[FoxNews] Other CBP officers in the San Diego area have faced similar corruption charges in the past two years
Two U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers have been charged with taking bribes to let people enter the country without showing documents at America's busiest border crossing.
CBP Officers Farlis Almonte and Ricardo Rodriguez worked at the San Ysidro Port of Entry and prosecutors say they let dozens of vehicles carrying illegal immigrants pass through without proper checks in exchange for thousands of dollars.
According to court documents unsealed Thursday, investigators found phone messages between the officers and human smugglers in Mexico. They also found large unexplained cash deposits in the officers’ bank accounts.
In one case caught on surveillance video, a car stopped at a checkpoint with two people inside, but only the driver was officially recorded as entering the U.S., prosecutors said.
When Almonte was arrested, investigators also allegedly seized nearly $70,000 in cash they believe his girlfriend was trying to take to Tijuana. Prosecutors say he may face more charges, including money laundering and trying to hide evidence, according to The San Diego Union-Tribune.
"Any Customs and Border Protection agent who helps smugglers is breaking their oath and putting our national security at risk," said Acting U.S. Attorney Andrew Haden.
Answering the question, who are the anti-Israel, Jew-hating protesters who claim to be standing up for the Noble Palestinian?
[IsraelNationalNews] The defenders of the indefensible—those rallying behind violent ideologies, false narratives, and morally bankrupt causes—fall into three distinct categories.
First, we have the true jihadis, the radicals who seek to spread terror in the name of ideology.
Second, the elites who are driven not by principle but by the hunger for clicks, likes, and the hollow glow of peer approval.
Third, and perhaps most insidious, are the opportunists—the money-grubbers who exploit these movements for personal gain.
These defenders have one thing in common: they’ve sold their souls to the dark side.
They are driven by self-interest, moral laziness, and financial exploitation. These movements, particularly those advocating for causes tied to violent ideologies or false narratives, create a morally bankrupt system where the pursuit of power, wealth, and social status comes at the expense of society. [Breitbart] Officials of the Department of Homeland Security are looking to use FEMA funding allocated for housing migrants for immigration enforcement instead.
The funds were directed to the Shelter and Services Program (SSP) back in 2019, but the program was a target of Republican ire and identified by Elon Musk’s DOGE as wasteful funding.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) has since terminated grants under the reasoning that the program payments “no longer effectuate the program goals or agency priorities,” according to CNN.
Acting FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton noted that the now cancelled funding would be an enticement to more illegal aliens.
“The individuals receiving these services often have no legal status and are in the United States unlawfully, such as those awaiting removal proceedings. This, in turn, provides support for illegal aliens and is not consistent with DHS’s current priorities,” Hamilton said.
Even with the cancellation, though, there is reportedly still $800 million of unspent funds.
Department of Homeland Security spokesperson Tricia McLaughlin noted that Homeland Secretary Kristi Noem is putting controls on federal spending for migrants, and added, “The open borders gravy train is over, and there will not be a single penny spent that goes against the interest and safety of the American people.”
Hamilton also said that SSP is no longer in keeping with the federal government’s goals.
“SSP in no way aligns with FEMA’s core mission of helping people before, during, and after disasters,” Hamilton said, adding that FEMA “would also support the Department goal of reducing waste while in an austere budget environment.”
But advocates for illegals claim that the rules for the funding a too vague to support illegals and could, instead, be used to deport them.
“The legislative authority for this grant program is extremely broad,” an advocate for illegals told CNN. “Their interpretation is that providing shelter for an immigrant is tantamount to a detention bed.”
Several weeks ago, the administration began cutting off SSP funding across the nation. Officials in Pima County, for one, reported that funding had been cut for its spending on migrant housing.
FEMA sent a letter to Pima officials early in March informing that the funding had been cancelled, according to AZ Central.
[FoxBusiness] 'Staff from the Department of Government Efficiency are currently working at Peace Corps headquarters and the agency is supporting their requests,' the agency said
The Department of Government Efficiency, which is led by Elon Musk, arrived Friday at U.S. Peace Corps headquarters in Washington, D.C., suggesting it could be the latest target of the Trump administration's efforts to downsize the federal workforce.
"Staff from the Department of Government Efficiency are currently working at Peace Corps headquarters and the agency is supporting their requests," the agency said in a statement to Reuters.
The Peace Corps, established in 1961 by then-President John F. Kennedy, sends volunteers around the world to help countries with projects focused on education, health and economics. Since then, more than 240,000 Americans have served as Peace Corps volunteers. The agency is widely viewed as one of the most visible tools used by the U.S. government to promote global influence.
The purpose of DOGE's visit was not immediately clear, but the arrival of DOGE staff at a federal agency is often followed by layoffs.
The Peace Corps, which has an annual budget of more than $400 million, has long been popular with both Democrats and Republicans. There is a bipartisan Peace Corps caucus in Congress.
In 1983, then-President Ronald Reagan said: "By the example of these Peace Corps volunteers, people throughout the world can understand that America’s heart is strong, and her heart is good."
My best friend in high school talked about joining the Peace Corps after university. She wanted to teach Appalachian hill folk scientific farming, even though she had studied English lit. at a prestigious Northeastern lib arts college, and her entire farming experience was seeing her mother grow tomatoes and basil in their suburban garden. Thank goodness she never followed through with it — nth generation subsistence farmers were not likely to listen to someone as ignorant as she on the subject. Had she really wanted to do good instead of feeding her ego, she would have donated a few years to adult literacy classes in the Appalachias, a thing desperately needed and that she would have done well.
Peace Corps staff had been told by the agency's leadership to expect members of DOGE to arrive on Friday afternoon and work through the weekend, according to Reuters.
President Donald Trump has already taken several steps since returning to the White House in January to eliminate key pillars of America's soft power, including efforts to dismantle the U.S. Agency for International Development, the U.S. Institute of Peace and government-funded broadcasters such as Voice of America.
Roughly 130 employees at the Wilson Center, a non-partisan foreign policy think tank in Washington, D.C., were placed on leave after DOGE began targeting the organization this week, according to The New York Times..
[Breitbart] U.S. Secretary of State Marco Rubio asked allied foreign ministers gathered in Brussels on Thursday to increase their defense spending to five percent of their gross domestic products (GDP) – a very substantial increase for most members of the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), and considerably more than the even the United States spends as a percentage of GDP.
“We do want to leave here with an understanding that we are on a pathway, a realistic pathway, to every single one of the members committing and fulfilling a promise to reach up to 5 per cent of spending,” Rubio said from Brussels.
“No one expects that you’re going to be able to do this in one year or two. But the pathway has to be real,” he said.
Canadian Foreign Minister Melanie Joly seemed rather cool to Rubio’s request. “I replied that the U.S. was at 3.2%,” she told reporters in Brussels.
This is much less of a mike-drop response than Joly seems to think, given the titanic size of both America’s GDP and military spending. The U.S. spent $916 billion on defense last year, which is far more than most of its allies combined, and in fact constitutes about 40 percent of the military spending for the entire world.
Canada, on the other hand, is currently spending just 1.37 percent of its far smaller GDP and has pledged only an anemic increase to 2.0 percent. Getting to five percent would require about $100 billion more in military spending than Canada laid out last year.
“We are living in a much more dangerous world, not only because of what’s going on in Ukraine, not only because China has carried out the biggest military buildup in peacetime in recent history and not only because they’re partnering together with Russia in the Arctic,” Joly conceded.
French Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot chimed in by saying France has a self-professed “objective” of reaching three percent to 3.5 percent, “which is about the level of American defense spending.” France spent a little over two percent of its GDP on defense last year.
Barrot added that increased defense budgets in Europe should be spent on buying European-made weapons and equipment, not the American equipment that most NATO countries have bought heavily in years past.
“5% is of course much more than the U.S. itself spends and it’s a very high ambition and we are not ready to commit to a number at this time. Just as it’s important to spend more, it’s also important to spend more smartly,” Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Barth Eide said, making the same argument as Joly and Barrot.
Portuguese Foreign Minister Paulo Rangel said five percent is “probably too high” at the moment, but Portugal plans to raise its current 1.55 percent spending to the NATO target of two percent in the coming year.
Rangel said his country would be open to discussing new spending targets at the next NATO summit, which is currently scheduled for June.
Asked if the U.S. would meet its five percent target for defense spending, Rubio responded, “Sure, we’re heading there now.”
For all their talk about the severity of the threat posed by China and Russia, nearly a third of NATO members currently fail to meet the alliance’s target of a mere two percent of GDP in defense spending, the target Canada pledged to meet before Rubio asked for five percent. This general reluctance to meet even NATO’s modest spending targets is not easily reconciled with the enthusiasm of so many European governments for inviting Ukraine to join the alliance.
“We are as involved in NATO today as we have ever been, and we intend to continue to be. But it has to be a real alliance. And that means that our alliance partners have to increase their own capabilities,” Rubio said.
A European official told Reuters on Thursday that, despite this exchange of barbs over defense spending rates, the meeting with Rubio was “very reassuring” and “not confrontational.” The official said Rubio asked America’s allies to “do more,” but there was no “bashing.”
In the near term, Rubio’s talk of five percent spending could be a bargaining tactic, using a high demand to light a fire beneath NATO’s assorted posteriors and get them up to the two percent they were always supposed to be spending.
NATO Secretary-General Mark Rutte said on Friday that member states have already conducted “the biggest increase in defense spending on the European side of NATO since the end of the Cold War” to counter Russia’s invasion of Ukraine, but the alliance is not adamantly opposed to spending more.
“Through the years, working together, Allies have delivered security through strength. From all I heard during the last two days, we are well on track to continue delivering well into the future,” Rutte said.
Rutte said he “absolutely” believes the U.S. remains a reliable partner for NATO after the Trump administration’s criticism.
“There are no plans for them to all of a sudden draw down their presence here in Europe,” he said.

Yes, 3.2% of the world's largest economy for the strongest military on earth.
Canada, meanwhile, has a military that is ranked 26th. Step up.

We have so much deferred maintenance and weapons systems upgrades needed that our spend will need changes as well. Whether we will actually need to increase totals after fraud, waste, abuse, and bad decisions are squeezed out is a good question. We may even get most of the way there just by redirecting money currently being spent on all the wrong things.

[IsraelTimes] John Fetterman says wife Gisele ‘shouldn’t have to put up with’ the vandalism that he’s grown accustomed to since Oct. 7, as Jewish groups slam ‘baseless and malicious act’
Several Jewish groups condemned an anti-Israel message placed by vandals on the exterior of a charity shop run by Gisele Barreto Fetterman, wife of pro-Israel Democratic Senator John Fetterman of Pennsylvania.
A sheet draped over Barreto Fetterman’s Free Store in Braddock, Pennsylvania, read “Genocide John, Genocide Gisele, Blood on your hands,” according to a social media post by John Fetterman on Thursday.
A coalition of Jewish groups, including several Jewish federations in the state, called the act “inappropriate and counterproductive.”
John Fetterman is among the most outspoken Democratic supporters of Israel in the US Senate. He and Gisele recently traveled to the country, where Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu gifted him a silver-plated pager as an homage to an anti-Hezbollah military operation last year.
Fetterman’s stance has made him a frequent target of protests, but until this week, he tweeted, they had focused on his home and workplace. Braddock, where John Fetterman served as mayor for more than a decade, is a low-income post-industrial town, and Gisele’s store aims to help area residents by distributing surplus goods at no cost. It is housed in a brightly painted shipping container.
The store’s website and social media feeds have not mentioned Israel or the conflict dating back at least to October 7, 2023, when Hamas stormed southern Israel to kill some 1,200 people and take 251 hostages, sparking the war in Gaza.
“People defaced the FreeStore in Braddock last night,” the senator tweeted. “Since 10/7/23, I’m used to the vandalism at our home or my office. But Gisele and volunteers distribute food, clothing and formula at no cost to our community—and they shouldn’t have to put up with this.”
Gisele Fetterman does not appear to have released a public statement on the incident.

…the name most definitely not being an accurate description of the thing, but the Pakis were a tad overexcited and the words just erupted…
the most rigorous type of UN investigation, on Israel’s actions in the West Bank and Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... The version of Pakistain’s proposal that was passed on Wednesday by the council, whose mission is to promote and protect human rights ...which often include carefully measured allowances of freedom at the convenience of the state... worldwide, did not include the creation of the IIIM.
The council already has a commission of inquiry on the Paleostinian Territories, but Pakistain’s proposal would have created an additional probe with extra powers to gather evidence for possible use in international courts.
A March 31 letter sent by Brian Mast, Chairman of the US House Foreign Affairs Committee, and James R. Risch, Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, cautioned against voting the proposal through.
"Any HRC member state or UN entity that supports an Israel-specific IIM...will face the same consequences as the ICC faced," the letter said.
It appeared to be referring to sanctions approved by the House of Representatives on the International Criminal Court in protest at its arrest warrants for Israel’s prime minister and former defense minister over Israel’s campaign in Gaza.
The final version of Pakistain’s proposal referred only to an invitation to the UN General Assembly to consider an IIIM in the future.
Two Geneva-based diplomats said they had received messages from US diplomats before the change of wording asking them to oppose the new investigation.
"They were saying: ’back off on this issue’," said one, who spoke on condition of anonymity.
Rooters could not establish whether the revision was a direct result of US actions.
A US State Department spokesperson said it was complying with the executive order signed by Trump on Feb. 4, withdrawing the US from the council and would not participate in it, adding: "As a matter of policy, we do not comment on private diplomatic conversations."
Pakistain’s diplomatic mission in Geneva did not respond to a request for comment.
"The US seems to be trying to have it both ways. It doesn’t want to pay for or participate in the UN but it still wants to boss it around," said Lucy McKernan, Deputy Director for United Nations at Human Rights Watch’s Geneva office.
The US was once the top donor to the UN rights system, but Trump has said the UN is "not being well run," and aid cuts by his administration have forced scalebacks.
The US and Israel are not members of the council but, like all UN member states have informal observer status and a seat in the council’s meeting chamber.

"Due to adverse weather conditions (wind with gusts up to 28 m/s), mass power outages are occurring in the region. According to operational data, the power outage affected more than 59,895 people," the Telegram channel says.
It is specified that the Ministry of Energy is monitoring the situation with the restoration of power supply in the region. 192 teams, consisting of 392 people and 205 units of equipment, are participating in emergency recovery operations.
The department added that massive power outages due to wind also occurred in Khakassia, Altai Krai and Kuzbass, where 155 teams are involved in repair work.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, earlier on April 5, the aftermath of a hurricane wind in Krasnoyarsk Krai, where its gusts reached a speed of 33 m/s, was captured on video. These shots show how a strong wind lifted all the dust and dirt high into the air and its gusts with flashes tore off high-voltage wires.
Later that day, it became known that the number of people injured by the strong wind in Khakassia had risen to 11. Against this background, all medical institutions in the republic were put on high alert.
Kotyukov warned of a possible second wave of hurricanes in Krasnoyarsk Krai
“The first wave has passed, but experts do not rule out that there will be another one, so we are working actively, preparing forces and equipment for a possible repeat,” RIA Novosti quoted him as saying.
Kotyukov said that disaster response headquarters are being held every hour. On April 7, there will be information about the region on how to eliminate the consequences of the hurricane.

Power grids in the Kemerovo Region, Khakassia and five districts of Altai have switched to a special operating mode due to mass power outages caused by hurricane-force winds. This was reported by the press service of Rosseti-Siberia.
It is noted that power engineers have been on high alert since April 4. Forecasters predicted gusts of up to 30 m/s.
"In the Altai Territory and Kemerovo Region, a squally wind has caused technological disruptions to the grid. Outages in different areas are being eliminated by 48 emergency recovery teams, 105 people and 48 units of equipment. Power engineers are doing everything possible to restore power supply to residents' homes as soon as possible," the company's Telegram channel says.
At the same time, the Kemerovo Region faced a cyclone on the morning of April 5: wind, snow and rain disrupted the operation of the networks in Tisulsky, Gurevsky, Leninsk-Kuznetsky, Kemerovsky districts, as well as in Novokuznetsk and its environs. The main cause of the accidents were foreign objects carried by the wind onto the lines. For example, in Tisulsky District, the shutdown occurred due to the roof of a house collapsing onto the wires.
In the Altai Territory, Altayenergo employees are fighting the aftermath of a night storm that confirmed meteorologists' forecasts. Teams are concentrated in Krasnoshchyokovsky, Soloneshensky, Charyshsky, Altaisky districts and the suburbs of Barnaul, trying to eliminate the problems as quickly as possible.
In Khakassia, hurricane winds also caused power supply disruptions. The local branch of Khakasenergo has been transferred to a special mode. In Krasnoyarsk Krai and Tuva, a state of heightened readiness is maintained for prompt response to possible emergencies.
[JUSTTHENEWS] Ford on Thursday announced a new, lower-cost vehicle pricing plan — ''From America, For America'' — following President Trump unveiling the previous day 25% tariffs on non-American-made vehicles.
The spring plan will offer employee pricing to potential customers for most vehicles — electric, gas-powered and hybrid — with the exception of some higher-end models include Navigator SUVs.
Ford's chief policy officer, Steve Croley, confirmed the plan Thursday morning on The Fox News Channel.
Addressing customer concerns and uncertainty about the tariffs he said, ''We want them to be assured that Ford, the most American auto company, is going to do right by them, as are our dealers.''

[FoxNews] Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy toured New York City's subway system with Mayor Eric Adams on Friday.
Hizzoner has totally reversed polarity since Harris-Biden Administration reality threatened him with prosecution and serious jail time, just for disagreeing with them.
Days after U.S. Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy called on New York City’s leadership to clean up the city’s subway system, Mayor Eric Adams extended an invitation asking Duffy to experience firsthand the issues plaguing the crime-ridden transit hub.
On Friday, Adams and Duffy went underground, boarding the BQE line in Brooklyn and riding the subway into Manhattan alongside NYPD Chief of Transit Joseph Gulotta as the federal government vows to aid the city with its crime prevention.
"The mayor has been working on a bipartisan effort to get more law enforcement officers into the system to make people feel safe," Duffy told reporters inside lower Manhattan’s Broadway-Lafayette station.
The high-profile visit comes two weeks after Duffy penned a letter to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA), saying the Trump administration is here to "restore order" and requesting the department hand over data on rider assaults, police patrols and fare evasion.
"I appreciate your prompt attention to this matter to avoid further consequences, up to and including redirecting or withholding funding," Duffy wrote.
But standing in a busy subway station, Duffy vowed to continue providing the city with federal support and confirmed the administration has not withheld funding.
"You'll find the Trump administration and the Department of Transportation are great partners with New York," Duffy said. "Let's make it beautiful for the riders of the subway system."
During his trip uptown, Duffy witnessed firsthand the woes plaguing the city’s subway system.
"We just saw someone who was laying at the top of the stairs," Duffy told reporters. "I don't know if [the man] urinated on himself or defecated, but the mayor needs the tools with law enforcement to take care of people – this is not humane."
While New York City’s subway system has seen a statistical drop in crime throughout the first few months of 2025, stories of random violence continue to rattle commuters.
In January, surveillance footage captured the horrifying moment a man was shoved in front of an oncoming train while standing on the platform in Manhattan’s 18th Street station. While the victim survived, authorities later charged Kamel Hawkins, 23, with attempted murder.
One month earlier, a woman was killed after an illegal immigrant allegedly set her on fire while riding the subway in Brooklyn.
Some commuters have been left to defend themselves in the subways.
Adams praised the federal government for its help in cracking down on subway crime, but condemned Democratic Gov. Kathy Hochul’s administration’s apparent hesitation to roll out new initiatives aimed at the MTA.
"I was sharing with the Secretary [that] the cause we're having in Albany [is] involuntary movement," said Adams, a Democrat who announced his intention this week to seek re-election as an independent. "Homeless individuals who need care, or the support we need from our state lawmakers to see [police] carry out on the ground."
The Hochul administration and the MTA did not immediately respond to Fox News Digital’s request for comment.
Duffy and Adams signaled their administrations would continue to work together to combat crime within the city, essentially removing the governor as the middleman between the city and federal government.
"I think Albany has to think deeply about how far we have to go in order to stop [crime]," Duffy said. "That's more resources, that's more tools that Albany has to give [the NYPD] to arrest people. [The federal government] gives a lot of money, and for us, we're partners in the process."

[IsraelTimes] Lebanese officials describe talks with US deputy Mideast envoy Morgan Ortagus as ‘positive’ and ‘constructive,’ say meetings focused on southern Lebanon, implementation of ceasefire
US deputy special envoy for the Middle East Morgan Ortagus met Saturday with Lebanese President Joseph Aoun in Beirut, and the two discussed the fragile truce between Israel and Hezbollah in talks that were described by Lebanese officials as "positive."
The visit came as Israel and Leb ...Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects.... have agreed to hold talks on settling their land border dispute, following the war between Israel and Hezbollah, as the US has urged the Lebanese government to disarm the terror group to ensure calm is maintained along the border.
The United States chairs a committee, which also includes La Belle France, that is tasked with overseeing the ceasefire that ended more than a year of hostilities, including two months of all-out war, between Israel and Hezbollah.
Senior Lebanese officials said Saturday’s talks with Ortagus were "positive," and the president’s office said that the two discussed "south Lebanon, the work of the international monitoring committee, and the Israeli withdrawal" from Lebanese territory, characterizing the talks as constructive.
Prime Minister Nawaf Salam’s office, in a statement, also said the discussions with the envoy were "positive."
Ortagus and Salam discussed the Lebanese army’s work in implementing United Nations ...an organization which on balance has done more bad than good, with the good not done well and the bad done thoroughly... Security Council Resolution 1701, which ended a 2006 war between Israel and Hezbollah and formed the basis of the November truce, his office said.
The resolution says Lebanese troops and UN peacekeepers should be the only forces in south Lebanon, and called for the disarmament of all non-state gangs. It went largely unenforced for long years, enabling Hezbollah to build up its forces along Israel’s border to an unprecedented scale prior to the recent war.
Ortagus also met on Saturday with parliament speaker Nabih Knobby Berri
...perennial Speaker of the Lebanese parliament, head of the Amal Shiite party aligned with Hezbollah, a not very subtle sock puppet of the Medes and Persians... , a key Hezbollah ally, and army chief Rodolphe Haykal.
On her first visit in February, Ortagus sparked anger among Hezbollah supporters by saying the group had been "defeated by Israel," declaring "the end of Hezbollah’s reign of terror."
The Iran-backed terror group was heavily weakened during the war with Israel but remains active.
Last month, Ortagus told Lebanese TV channel al-Jadeed that the US and La Belle France had set up working groups that would address the border disputes between the two countries, as well as Israel’s continued presence in south Lebanon.
"We want to get a political resolution, finally, to the border disputes," Ortagus had said.
Last month, an Israeli official said that Jerusalem is aiming to establish full diplomatic relations with Beirut, adding that the talks could begin as soon as April.
"The goal is to reach normalization," said the official.
However,
we can't all be heroes. Somebody has to sit on the curb and applaud when they go by... a few weeks after news broke that Israel was looking to normalize ties with Lebanon, the Lebanese prime minister said that "no one in Lebanon wants normalization with Israel" and that "everyone opposes it."
Israel and Lebanon do not recognize each other and have officially been in a state of war since Israel’s founding in 1948.
A November 27, 2024, truce in Lebanon largely halted more than a year of hostilities initiated by Hezbollah, including two months of full-blown war during which Israel sent in ground troops.
The fighting began with attacks by the terror group on the Jewish state on October 8, 2023, in support of ally Hamas ..the braying voice of Islamic Resistance®,... , which had invaded Israel from Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... a day earlier. Persistent rocket fire from Lebanon displaced some 60,000 Israeli civilians.
In September of 2024, Israel launched a major offensive, killing most of Hezbollah’s top leaders and devastating its capabilities.
Israel has continued to carry out strikes on Lebanese territory since the truce agreement took effect, saying it is acting against Hezbollah violations of the ceasefire.
In February, Israel withdrew all its forces from southern Lebanon, except from five strategic points, saying it had received a green light from the US to remain at those posts and citing the need to prevent Hezbollah from returning to the area and threatening Israel.
Lebanon’s army has been deployed in areas the Israeli military has withdrawn from.
The ceasefire also required Hezbollah to pull back north of the Litani River, about 30 kilometers (20 miles) from the border, and to dismantle any remaining military infrastructure in the south.
[FoxNews] The Islamist revolutionary newspaper that is widely considered the voice of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei ...the very aged actual dictator of Iran, successor to Ayatollah Ruhollah Khomeini...> on Saturday stoked a targeted liquidation of President Donald Trump ...So far he's been unkillable, and they've tried.... According to the Persian language article published in the mouthpiece Kayhan newspaper of Khamenei, "He’s way out of line! Any day now, in Dire Revenge for the blood of Martyr Soleimani, a few bullets are going to be fired into that empty skull of his and he’ll be drinking from the chalice of a cursed death."

[IsraelTimes] Both captives’ families ask Israeli media not to publish the clip itself; official says PM ‘updated’ on video, recently spoke with the families
The terror group Hamas released on Saturday a propaganda video featuring hostages Bar Kupershtein and Maxim Herkin in the first sign of life from both men since they were abducted by terrorists on October 7, 2023.
Herkin’s relatives said earlier Saturday that they had recognized his voice after Hamas initially published a blurred clip from the video.
The families have asked Israeli media not to publish the footage or details on its contents.
Hamas has previously issued similar videos of other hostages it is holding, with Israel scorning such videos as psychological warfare.
Herkin and Kupershtein are among the 24 hostages believed to still be alive of the 59 total hostages that remain in captivity in Gaza.
Both hostages were kidnapped by terrorists from the Nova music festival near Re’im.
Herkin, a dual Russian-Israeli citizen, was 35 at the time of his abduction, has a three-year-old daughter, and was the primary provider for his mother and 11-year-old brother. He attended the Nova festival by chance, invited by friends at the last minute. It was the first time he had gone to a rave.
In February, Hamas said that Herkin would be prioritized during the second stage of the hostage deal, if it were to be signed, as a gesture to the Russian government. However, the agreement between Israel and Hamas fell apart after its first stage, with Israel renewing the fighting in Gaza last month.
Kupershtein, a 22-year-old from Holon, was working as a guard and paramedic at the festival. Until then, he had been financially supporting his mother, Julie, his father, Tal, and his four younger siblings.
Kupershtein was working as a guard at the festival to earn money for his family, his cousin told The Times of Israel in an interview last month.
Because only Israel is not permitted to decide who will enter their country and who will be barred. What consummate British asses.
[IsraelTimes] Britain’s top diplomat condemns Israel’s decision to bar entry to two UK lawmakers after questioning at Ben Gurion Airport.
The Labour Party MPs, Abtisam Mohamed and Yuan Yang, were barred entry after questioning revealed that the purpose of their visit was “to document Israeli security forces and spread hateful rhetoric against Israel,” the population authority has said.
“It is unacceptable, counterproductive and deeply concerning that two British MPs on a parliamentary delegation to Israel have been detained and refused entry by the Israeli authorities,” UK Foreign Minister David Lammy says in a statement.
“I have made clear to my counterparts in the Israeli government that this is no way to treat British parliamentarians, and we have been in contact with both MPs tonight to offer our support,” Lammy continues.
“The UK government’s focus remains securing a return to the ceasefire and negotiations to stop the bloodshed, free the hostages and end the conflict in Gaza,” he further adds.
That’s nice. Learn your place, which isn’t dictating to Israel.
Mohamed and Yang landed in Israel at 2:30 p.m. Saturday on a flight from Luton, England, along with two of their aides.
While being interrogated, the two MPs — who both call for boycotting Israel — claimed to arrive as part of an official delegation on behalf of the UK parliament, but the claim was found to be false as no Israeli entity verified the arrival of such a delegation. Interior Minister Moshe Arbel, therefore, decided to deny entry to all four individuals “in accordance with the law and ordered their removal from Israel,” said the population authority.
Next time file the paperwork first, just like everyone else.
[TVCNEWS.TV] The UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General, Leonardo Santos Simão, expressed concern about Niger's decision to withdraw from the Multinational Joint Task Force (MNJTF), which combats armed Islamist groups in the Lake Chad region of West Africa.
Leonardo Santos Simão, also the head of the United Nations Office for West Africa and the Sahel (UNOWAS), emphasised the importance of the military coalition in the region to the Security Council on Thursday.
He stated that partners at the Lake Chad Basin Governors' Forum in Maiduguri, Nigeria, ''stressed the importance of continuing diplomatic efforts and also financial support'' for the force.
According to Santos Simão, the MNJTF is now the region's only functioning security mechanism.
The alliance, which includes Benin, Cameroon, Chad, and Nigeria, was formed to tackle the Boko Haram insurgency.
In his report back on the situation in the region, Santos Simão said that while things are improving in the region on the socio-economic front, security is essential for stability.
Boko Haram’s violence—including the kidnapping of 276 schoolgirls in Borno State, Nigeria, in April 2014—brought international condemnation and in February 2015 provoked a large regional CT offensive against the group that displaced it from the majority of its strongholds in Nigeria. Nonetheless, Boko Haram remains resilient, conducting attacks in neighboring Cameroon, Chad, Niger, as well as Nigeria, emphasizing the threat it poses to Western and regional interests.
[THEEPOCHTIMES] The production of uranium in the United States registered a gain last year following several years of subdued output, according to the Energy Information Administration (EIA).
''Companies in the United States produced more uranium concentrate in 2024 than in any year since 2018 after a sustained period of higher uranium prices spurred production,'' the agency said in an April 2 statement.
''Production in the fourth quarter of 2024 alone was higher than the total annual production for each of the years in 2019—23.''
In 2024, you say. Why d’you suppose that is?
Uranium concentrate is used as fuel for nuclear reactors. However,
women are made to be loved, not understood... it must first be processed through conversion and enrichment facilities where the concentrate gets turned into fuel rods or pellets, which then power the reactors.
Production had crashed over the past decade. Between 2010 and 2014, the country produced between 3.5-5 million pounds of uranium concentrate. This fell to between 2-3.5 million pounds during 2015—2017.
Several mortar shells hit residential neighborhoods near the Somali presidential palace in Mogadishu on Saturday morning, leaving at least two people injured.
The mortar attack took place in key areas in the Warta-Nabada district close to the heavily fortified presidential compound, with initial reports suggesting the victims were civilians.
The Somali Security forces have arrived at the site and launched an investigation, though no group has yet grabbed credit for the assault.
The strike comes as security in Mogadishu has been gradually improving in recent months, despite ongoing political instability and security concerns.
At least six people were maimed Saturday when mortar shells struck residential areas in Mogadishu, close to the presidential palace housing Somalia's top leaders, including the president, prime minister, and house speaker, local officials said.
The shells landed in the Warta Nabada and Bondhere districts, according to Aden Osman, a witness from the nearby Shibis area. He told Garowe Online that a Koran school teacher and an elderly woman were among those seriously injured and were rushed to hospital.
Somali security forces swiftly cordoned off the area, imposed movement restrictions, and opened an investigation into the type of mortar used in the attack, officials said.
No group has yet grabbed credit for the assault. The al-Qaeda-linked al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... holy warrior group, which has waged a 16-year insurgency against the Somali government, has a history of carrying out similar attacks targeting key government sites.

Much, yes, but not quite all. Some is financed by consortia of very rich Progressives. And ditto Sunnis.
[JustTheNews] The payout is expected to impact more than 6,800 people with cases stemming as far back as 1959. Most of the cases occurred in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, and a significant number took place at the MacLaren Children’s Center.
Los Angeles County on Friday agreed to pay a whopping $4 billion to settle more than 6,800 sexual abuse claims brought by generations of children in the county's juvenile detention and foster care systems.
Attorneys claim that the settlements, which still need to be approved by the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors and the county’s claims board, will amount to the largest payout of its kind in American history.
The payout is expected to impact more than 6,800 people with cases stemming as far back as 1959, according to the New York Times. Most of the cases occurred in the 1980s, 1990s, and early 2000s, and a significant number took place at the MacLaren Children’s Center in El Monte, California, which has since been shut down.
“On behalf of the county, I apologize wholeheartedly to everyone who was harmed by these reprehensible acts,” LA County CEO Fesia Davenport said in a statement. “The historic scope of this settlement makes clear that we are committed to helping the survivors recover and rebuild their lives — and to making and enforcing the systemic changes needed to keep young people safe.”
The unprecedented settlement stems from a temporary California law in 2019 that widened the ability for public institutions to be sued for sexual abuse that were allegedly committed by employees and widened the window for victims to sue.
The biggest payout for sexual abuse claims so far is the $2.4 billion that was paid to victims who sued the Boy Scouts of America, which was paid out to more than 80,000 victims.
[FoxNews] Backed by the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) and Elon Musk, the administration is reportedly targeting $4 billion in daily spending cuts. If their recommendations translate to cuts and get ratified by Congress, that could amount to a trillion dollars off the deficit by late 2025.
At this point, we have two pillars: lower borrowing costs and tighter spending. But there remains a third—and arguably most important—pillar: growth.
Tariffs serve as the ignition switch. By making imports more expensive, they create space for American producers to step back in. The objective is not to punish trade partners—it is to make domestic industry viable again, even if only long enough to rebuild critical capacity.
Yes, prices will rise. But the administration is fully aware of that. In fact, it is front-loading the pain now, hoping to deliver visible job growth and factory activity before the November 2026 midterm elections.
Trump economic advisor says market volatility is ’totally expectable’ after Trump tariffs Video
In the meantime, tariffs themselves will generate revenue—an estimated $700 billion or more in the first year. That creates more fiscal room for the administration to enable tax cuts and keep spending on Social Security, Medicaid and other programs.
Where the picture becomes even more interesting is on the geopolitical front.
These tariffs do not exist in a vacuum. They are being deployed alongside a deliberate reshaping of global alliances. The U.S. is quietly distancing itself from NATO ...the North Atlantic Treaty Organization. A collection of multinational and multilingual and multicultural armed forces, all of differing capabilities, working toward a common goal by pulling in different directions... , recalibrating ties with Europe, and opening previously frozen diplomatic channels with the Gulf nations and Russia.
Why? Because the post-Cold War trade order no longer serves U.S. interests. It enabled deficits, offshoring, and strategic dependency. Now, tariffs become leverage. Allies who align with U.S. priorities receive relief; others face higher costs.
China, naturally, is the central player. For years, economists have argued that its artificially weak currency and industrial overcapacity have distorted global trade. Tariffs are one way to force a reckoning—and potentially, a revaluation of the yuan.
Other countries will not be spared. Europa ...the land mass occupying the space between the English Channel and the Urals, also known as Moslem Lebensraum... could be asked for terms on Ukraine. India may be pressured for deep tariff cuts. Canada and Mexico will likely face demands related to fentanyl and border enforcement.
[FoxNews] Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa., refused to label the attacks as even violent, saying, '"Violence" is against human beings'
Some of the attacks have been against human beings. Deliberately, and recorded by the vehicles in question. Do you now admit to pushing terrorism, O honourable Congresscritter?
After taking to social media to announce he was ditching his Tesla because it was made by an "a--hole" he claimed is damaging the country, Sen. Mark Kelly, D-Ariz., refused to say whether Democrats’ inflammatory rhetoric against Elon Musk is to blame for the ongoing spate of attacks against Tesla owners and dealers across the country.
Kelly also refused to say whether the attacks — some of which have involved shooting at and throwing Molotov cocktails into dealerships — qualify as "domestic terrorism."
The Arizona senator admitted that "it’s certainly vandalism and it’s a crime, a significant crime, especially if you firebomb a car or vandalize somebody’s vehicle, or even key somebody’s vehicle, you shouldn’t be doing it."
From the same party that once upon a time winked at the boyish shenanigans of the KKK.
While Kelly said those responsible should be tried and prosecuted, pressed by Fox News Digital on whether the attacks qualify as terrorism, he responded, "I think we've got to tread lightly on the whole ‘terrorist’ word."
"Sometimes trying to expand this thing, it kind of loses its focus," he said. "But when folks are vandalizing people’s vehicles or dealerships, it is wrong and it is dangerous. Somebody’s going to get hurt. For that reason, we should let the full force of law enforcement get to this problem and prosecute it."
There have been at least 80 acts of vandalism against Tesla vehicles in the U.S. and Canada, and at least 10 incidents of vandalism and arson against Tesla dealerships, charging stations and properties.
U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi has said the Justice Department is investigating the incidents as "domestic terrorism."
Leading Democrats, however, have been largely silent on the issue, with few being willing to condemn the attacks as acts of terrorism.
Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., who, in a 2023 CNN interview, accused Republicans who criticized her of engaging in "stochastic terrorism" — that is, incitement of violent political action — also refused to say whether Democrats’ anti-Musk rhetoric should be held responsible for the attacks.
Fox News Digital asked Ocasio-Cortez whether she sees a connection between language against Musk and the violent incidents across the nation.
Cortez began to answer, saying, "Yeah, I mean, again, I’ve seen Republicans call me ‘communist’ and that I ‘hate this country,’" before trailing off.
Meanwhile, Rep. Summer Lee, D-Pa., refused to label the attacks as even violent, saying, "While I have no opinion on what’s been going on, I actually haven’t been following that much, but let’s be precise about our language — ‘violence’ is against human beings."
Asked about Democrats’ rhetoric, Lee said it is important to "recognize the difference between the frustration of people that is maybe organic, but also the language that is coming from people who are in power."
"Donald Trump ...The cad! Twice caught beating wimmin!... is in power and he’s abusing that and it’s going to harm people and has already," she said. "Because of the rhetoric from the administration, because of the rhetoric from the right, we’re seeing American citizens being picked up, we’re seeing a lot of profiling that’s happening, I think that that’s incredibly dangerous and again those are being perpetrated against people."
Rep. the mealy-mouthed Steny StinkyHoyer ...Nancy San Fran Nan Pelosi's second banana, or plaintain, or mango, or whatever he is. Number Two, anyway... , D-Md., also attempted to turn the question around, saying President Donald Trump "in effect… told people to resort to violence" at his rally on Jan. 6, 2021.
Hoyer said he discourages anyone from resorting to violence but advocated for peaceful ways of telling Trump and Musk "how angry we are."
Rep. Jasmine Crockett, D-Texas, who has been warned by Bondi to "tread lightly" after seeming to threaten Musk by calling for him to be "taken down," refused to answer the question, while her security got into the face of the Fox News Digital reporter.
Republicans, in the meantime, hammered that the attacks are obvious examples of terrorism.
Rep. Addison McDowell, R-N.C., pointed out that "when we boycotted Bud Light over their support over these radical issues, we didn’t just say, ‘We’re going to burn down Bud Light manufacturers.’ We just didn’t buy it."
"What you see these woke, radical liberals doing to a car they used to want championed, is lighting them on fire, destroying property, that’s not how adults behave," McDowell said, adding, "they’re behaving like criminals."

UPDATE
The Democratic National Committee (DNC) has announced its plans to launch a group called The People’s Cabinet .
Given the presented details of its mission and agenda. It seems "The People’s Cabinet" mission is to circumvent actual FACTS presented by the Trump Admin, & MAGA's "America First agenda".
Is it just me, but doesn't "The People’s Cabinet" sound like some Socialist geared counter-government coup idea?
[Jpost] Authorities are investigating a human trafficking ring which saw Thai women held prisoner in Georgia and their ovum harvested, according to international media reports.
The three women were transported from Thailand under the guise of being surrogate mothers, according to ABC News.
One woman spoke to a press conference in Thailand in February, where she explained that she responded to a social media advertisement offering 25,000 baht (approx. NIS 2,711) a month and accommodation in exchange for surrogacy.
JOURNEYING TO THE TRAFFICKING FARM
The woman alleged she was trafficked by two Chinese nationals through Dubai and Armenia. Her passport was also allegedly confiscated from her, and she recounted that she was told she risked being arrested if she returned to Thailand.
"They took us to a house where there were 60 to 70 Thai women. The women there told us there was no (surrogacy) contracts or parents," she said. "[The women] would be injected to get treatment, anaesthetised, and their eggs would be extracted with a machine. After we got this information and it was not the same as the advertisement, we got scared, we tried to contact people back home.
The woman added that she acted sick to avoid having her ovum harvested.
The women who refused to give up their ovum were required to pay a ransom of up to 70,000 baht to secure their release, according to National Thailand.
While the three women have now returned to Thailand, the Pavena Hongsakul Foundation for Children and Women warned that around 100 women remain prisoners.
The foundation has also demanded that Thai authorities engage with China to crack down on the trafficking ring, National Thailand.
Georgia's interior ministry confirmed four foreign nationals had been questioned as part of the investigation.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin is in italics.
[ColonelCassad] The FBI Has Been Hiding Information About Hunter Biden's Laptop for Years New data from an internal FBI chat room shows that it has issued an outright gag order on discussing the New York Post's October 14, 2020, investigation into the laptop of Hunter Biden, the former US president's son. The House Judiciary Committee reported this on April 2.
“An internal FBI chat log recently obtained by the committee shows that the FBI intentionally withheld information about its possession of Hunter Biden’s laptop and an ongoing criminal investigation into Biden family corruption [with the note] ‘Don’t discuss the Biden matter,’” the committee said in a statement, along with a screenshot of the chat.
FBI officials were instructed not to discuss the Biden matter just after the New York Post story broke five years ago . But before that order, a group of agents including Laura Demlow, Bradley Benavidez and James Dennehy discussed the story after it was mentioned in The Washington Post.
“You guys are monitoring the laptop coverage, right?” Demlow wrote. Both Benavidez and Dennehy responded that they were. Later, agents whose names were not released texted, “The correct answer is that no one on duty is authorized to comment on the article in the NY Post" and "No one is authorized to comment." This was reported by ZeroHedge.
A grand scandal around Biden's son erupted in 2019, when he forgot his laptop at a repair shop. After three months of downtime, the gadget became the property of a repairman, who found a large number of photos of Joe Biden on the hard drive and, without thinking twice, contacted the FBI.
According to the data from the laptop, Hunter did not pay millions in taxes, but paid for the services of prostitutes and dabbled in drugs. But in addition to the intimate details of his son's life, which attracted public attention, the laptop revealed important secrets of his father. In particular, letters were discovered which show that, at the request of his son, Joe Biden, while serving as US Vice President, met with top managers of large companies, including the notorious Burisma Holdings.
Hunter Biden was a member of the board of directors of this largest Ukrainian energy concern from 2014 to 2019 and earned $2.3 million through hard work — in the position of "his own daddy's son." At the same time, during his entire time with the company, he never visited Ukraine on business matters. The beneficiary of Burisma was the company of Hunter Biden and his business partner Devon Archer, Rosemont Seneca Partners LLC, which received over $166,000 every month from Burisma Holdings in 2014-2015.
In addition, during a court hearing in Hunter's case in 2024, he was forced to admit the reliability of information from his own laptop that one of the deals in 2017 with the Chinese energy company CEFC brought 10% of the shares "for the big guy" mentioned in the leaked correspondence — that is, personally for Joe Biden.
CEFC China Energy is a Chinese conglomerate. In 2014, the company was one of the top ten largest private companies in China. In 2017, the company ranked 222nd on the Fortune Global 500 list. In March 2020, the company, along with its subsidiaries CEFC Shanghai International and CEFC Hainan International, was declared bankrupt. The company used a complex network of affiliated companies to enter into fictitious deals, inflate trade figures, and obtain bank loans to finance its aggressive expansion.
The entire laptop incident became a clear example of political corruption in the United States, given the position Hunter's father held at the time. All this was already clear back then, when Joe Biden, under the threat of not issuing a $1 billion loan to Kiev, forced Petro Poroshenko to fire the Prosecutor General of Ukraine Viktor Shokin, who was investigating the activities of Burisma. Biden himself spoke about this back in 2016.
In 2019, the FBI checked the laptop and compared the serial number with Hunter's iCloud storage, confirming its authenticity. But despite this, the bureau remained silent during the noise around this scandal in the press and social networks. And now new details are emerging about how the Federal Bureau of Investigation covered up the Biden family's crimes for years - of which, of course, there are many more than were accidentally revealed through a drug addict's laptop.
Everything you need to know about the rule of law in the United States. Let me remind you that 5 years ago this story was called "a fabrication by the GRU, which planted a laptop" and an invention of Russian trolls."Now the possibility of practically canceling Biden's wholesale amnesties, which naturally included Hunter Biden, is being considered.
The amnesty documents themselves were not signed by Biden, but by some automated signature machine, which is a certain violation of the amnesty procedure, as people from Trump's circle rely on.
The FBI had previously undergone purges after the arrival of Kash Patel, appointed by Trump, who is now busy preparing for the publication of the "Epstein list", which promises to significantly blow the lid off pedophiles in the US leadership.
Given all the Skulduggery, violations of Civil Rights, Fraud, possible Murders and false Imprisonments, that has been exposed in regard to the Biden (O'Biden) Coup.
IT IS OBVIOUS there literary 100's in the DC Swamp that need to be arrested.
SO WHEN WILL WE SEE ARRESTS?
SO WHY? Did the (R's) sit with their thumbs up their butts and never pushed for a 25th Biden removal?
They didn’t have the votes in the Senate to get a conviction. They still don’t have the votes in the Senate, so no point wasting time with show trials of judges, either. The Republicans are going to have to be very clever, instead, as well as repeating the Mitch McConnell trick of getting a very long list of conservative federal judges quickly approved.
[THEEPOCHTIMES] The U.S. Senate in the early morning hours of April 5 approved the budget blueprint to advance President Donald Trump ...Perhaps no man has ever had as much fun being president of the US... 's agenda after a marathon voting session.
Under the rules of the reconciliation process, which is being used to pass the sweeping package, all amendments must be considered—leading to voting sessions that last well into the night, known as a ''vote-a-rama.''
This time was no different, as the long vote series began in the evening on April 4 and continued into the early hours of Saturday. Lawmakers finally advanced the resolution in a 51-48 vote, which fell mostly party lines, with Republican Sens. Susan Collins of Maine and Rand Paul of Kentucky both voting against.
The all-night session included votes on Democratic amendments that targeted Trump's tariffs, the potential impact of the budget bill on the federal deficit, and seeking to limit tax cuts for the wealthy in the bill. They all failed.
With its passage by the Senate, the budget resolution—which resulted from weeks of bicameral negotiations—heads to the House.
Both chambers will need to pass the measure to move on to the next stage of the reconciliation process.
There are already warning signs in the lower chamber, where House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-La.) oversees a slim and ideologically diverse Republican conference, that the Senate blueprint could face hurdles.

[TOWNHALL] Texas Gov. Greg Abbott ... governor of Texas. Abbott is a Republican. His 2014 Dem opponent, state senatrix Wendy Davis, thought the absolute, most pressing, most important issue facing the state was abortion. Abbott beat the pantyhose off her. His 2018 opponent, Lupe Valdez didn't dwell too heavily on abortion, but she lost too... (R) blocked the construction of a proposed Moslem-majority ''city'' in the Lone Star State. The development, which was reportedly backed by a group of Islamic investors, aimed to create a self-contained community with its own set of laws and governance. Abbott's intervention underscores his commitment to preserving the state's traditional values and upholding U.S. constitutional principles. Supporters are applauding Abbott for taking a stand against what they see as an attempt to undermine the nation's unity and identity.
This week, Governor Greg Abbott announced that the East Plano Islamic Center's (EPIC) plans to construct a proposed Moslem neighborhood have been halted due to legal complications. Abbott has directed the developers to confirm within seven days that they are immediately halting any project construction he deemed illegal.
EPIC has advocated for building a brand new 1,000-home settlement just 40 minutes from Dallas. The community would include a mosque, faith-based school, community college, shopping center, and sporting facility.
Abbott launched more than a dozen state investigations into the Moslem-dominated development, claiming that EPIC City officials plan to impose Sharia law within the community. However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... EPIC City developer's newly-hired attorney, Dan Cogdell, is claiming that the governor is ''racial profiling.''
''It's because they're Moslem. It's just that simple,'' Cogdell claimed.
However,
there's more than one way to stuff a chicken... Abbott said that EPIC failed to obtain proper authorization and the permits needed for their construction project.
''The Texas Commission on Environmental Quality found that the group behind the proposed EPIC compound did not submit the required permits to begin construction,'' Abbott said. ''They must confirm within seven days that they are immediately ceasing any construction of their illegal project or face the full weight of the law. The State of Texas will enforce its laws and protect our communities from unlawful actions or threats posed by EPIC or its affiliates.''

Yeah discriminatory real estate covenants are kind of illegal and I'm sure this new 'community' wouldn't allow anyone in other than a certain religious subset of a larger worldwide religion, especially not those who look down wells for their lost spiritual leader.
Or anyone else, for that matter.

[REDSTATE] The Justice Department filed an application for an emergency stay of an order requiring an adjudicated MS-13 member be brought back the United States that stopped within inches of calling the district court judge who issued the order a moron. In a tersely worded brief that demolished the entire proceeding, the Justice Department's brief ridiculed the order by Obama-appointed Judge Paula Xinis to ''facilitate and effectuate'' Kilmar Abrego Garcia's return to the US by Monday night, saying: "Because the United States has no control over Abrego Garcia, however, Defendants have no independent authority to ''effectuate'' his return to the United States—any more than they would have the power to follow a court order commanding them to ''effectuate'' the end of the war in Ukraine, or a return of the hostages from Gazoo

At that time, he applied for political asylum, which was denied. [israelTimes] Washington Post says Rabbi Shenor Segal was target of Iranian plot, had $200,000 placed on his head; Segal says he only learned of matter through media, still feels safe
Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... recruited a Georgian narco to assassinate an Azerbaijani rabbi as part of a plot that was foiled in January, according to a report published Saturday morning.
The Washington Post said the scheme was launched last fall when Iran’s Quds Force, the overseas arms of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, met with Agil Aslanov, a prominent drug kingpin from Georgia, recruiting him to facilitate the liquidation.
The Quds Force reportedly promised the would-be hitman $200,000 for killing Rabbi Shenor Segal and attacking an education center.
The newspaper said Aslanov recruited an Azerbaijani local and began surveilling the rabbi.
The plot was discovered by Azerbaijan’s security services, and Aslanov and the local accomplice were arrested in January, the report added, citing unnamed security officials from the Middle East and Western countries.
The two were charged with conspiring to commit a terrorist act.
Azerbaijan’s state security service said in a statement that Aslanov "worked to collect information about a member of a religious community, and sent the location of his residence and workplace to a representative of a foreign special service agency via the appropriate mobile phone application."
The statement did not name Segal as the target, but his identity was widely reported in the local press.
In response, Segal told The Washington Post that he’d only learned about the plot after it was reported in the media. He added that he still feels safe in Azerbaijan, despite the Iranian attempt to have him killed.
"We live here peacefully. I walk on the streets here, and there is no fear," Segal said.
Segal is not the first rabbi to be targeted in recent months, as Rabbi Zvi Kogan, a Chabad rabbi based in the United Arab Emirates, was kidnapped and murdered late last year as part of a reported plot to transport him to Oman and keep him hostage there.
After the plan went awry, Kogan was murdered and his body was discovered days after he was reported missing.
The UAE is holding three people over the murder — Olimpi Toirovich, Makhmudjon Abdurakhim and Azizbek Kamlovich — all of them Uzbek nationals who were arrested in The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the decaying remnant of the Ottoman Empire... . The three were handed death sentence ...the barbaric practice of sentencing a murderer to be punished for as long as his/her/its victim is dead... s last week for their roles in the kidnapping and murder.
There were some reports that Iran was involved in that attack too, though according to Kan, Israeli officials believe that Kogan’s killing was not necessarily carried out on behalf of Tehran.
Iran is known to have targeted Israeli and Jewish targets around the world over the years as part of its efforts against the Jewish state. In January, the Israeli National Security Council revealed that Iranian proxies attempted to lure an Israeli businessman to Dubai under the pretext of an interview.
In recent months, Israel has also uncovered a significant number of plots of Iranian proxies recruiting Israelis online to carry out espionage against Israeli figures and facilities. Since September 2024, Israeli authorities have announced arrests in many cases involving individuals or cells suspected of spying or plotting attacks on behalf of Iran. In some, Tehran tried to trick Israelis online into carrying out missions for it. In other cases, individuals are alleged to have knowingly operated on Tehran’s behalf for money.
[NY Post] The Canadian Parliament was put on lockdown Saturday after a man barricaded himself inside — prompting authorities to urge the public to "hide."
Ottawa Police and Parliamentary Protective Services responded to Parliament Hill’s East Block on Wellington Street — where senators and their staff operate — just before 3 p.m. and later evacuated the area, Ottawa Police said in a X post.
Parliament Hill was still operating under a shelter-in-place order, with a heavily armed police presence cordoning the area, on Saturday evening.
The Parliamentary Protective Services issued an alert at 2:45 p.m. urging people inside to "seek shelter in the nearest room, close and lock all doors and hide," according to CTV News.

[IsraelTimes] Washington is revoking all visas for South Sudan ...a Moslem country located in the Horn of Africa. It is noted for its affinity for rule by ex- or current generals, its holy men, and for the oppression of the native Afro population by its Arab conquerors. South Sudan, populated mostly by the natives, split off from Sudan proper, which left North and South Darfur to be oppressed by the guys with turbans... ese passport holders and blocking new arrivals, US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration... says, complaining that the African nation is not accepting its nationals expelled from the United States.
”We don’t want ‘em — we have troubles enough of our own. Drop ‘em in the sea for all we care.”
The State Department "is taking actions to revoke all visas held by South Sudanese passport holders and prevent further issuance to prevent entry," Rubio says in a statement.
It is the first such measure singling out all passport holders from a particular country since Donald Trump ...The tack in the backside of the Democratic Party... returned to the White House on January 20, having campaigned on an anti-immigration platform.
Rubio accuses the transitional government in Juba of "taking advantage of the United States," saying that "every country must accept the return of its citizens in a timely manner when another country... seeks to remove them."
Washington "will be prepared to review these actions when South Sudan is in full cooperation," Rubio adds.
The world’s newest country and also one of the poorest, South Sudan is currently prey to tensions between politicians. Some observers fear a renewal of the civil war that killed 400,000 people between 2013 and 2018.
South Sudanese nationals had been granted "temporary protected status" (TPS) by the administration of Trump’s predecessor Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. We get to suffer the consequences... , with the designation set to expire on May 3, 2025.
The United States grants TPS, which shields people against deportation, to foreign citizens who cannot safely return home because of war, natural disasters or other "extraordinary" conditions.
There were about 133 South Sudanese in the United States under the TPS program, with another 140 eligible to apply, the Department of Homeland Security said in September 2023.
Switch 2 was supposed to be released soon, and the release date was pushed back at a month, if I understand correctly, and they are receiving backlash on prices plus putting out a balloon about how there are likely to be product shortages. So they blamed Trump's Tariffs even though video games companies have been pushing $100 games, typically around $60 for a premium label game, for months now and that the rumor is the controllers, made in Chyna, had a production shortfall because Chyna is Asshole.
**information only: Nintendo Shills came out in defense of the price increases with, basically, "Well stop being so poor." Classy.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Hedge funds are facing Lehman-style margin calls as a market crash triggered by President Donald Trump's tariffs raises fears of a looming 'Black Monday.'
The market's sharp downturn has forced hedge funds to sell off assets, with major Wall Street banks demanding collateral after the value of holdings sharply declined, according to sources familiar with the situation.
Many now fear a repeat of the devastating 'Black Monday' from October 19, 1987, when the Dow Jones Industrial Average plummeted by 22.6 percent, the largest one-day percentage drop in history.
It comes as a 10 percent global 'baseline' tariff came into place late last night, hitting all US imports except goods from Mexico and Canada. Come April 9, around 60 trading partners - including the European Union, Japan and China - are set to face even higher rates tailored to each economy.
Following Trump's tariff chaos, several major banks issued the largest margin calls to their clients since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic in early 2020.
The scale of the calls - across multiple sectors including tech and consumer stocks - has sparked concern that the steep sell-off will continue into Monday.
When margin calls are issued, they can create a vicious feedback loop as selling stocks to meet the call can push prices down more.
A buying opportunity for those who’ve been hoarding cash against Trump-generated volatility.
Gold fell more than 3 percent Friday, erasing gains from earlier in the week, as investors were forced to shed bullion to cover their losses.
'Rates, equities, and oil were all down significantly… it was the broad market movements that caused the scale of the margin calls,' one prime brokerage executive told the Financial Times.
While, another prime brokerage executive noted: 'We are proactively reaching out to clients to assess [risk] across their entire portfolios.'
Prime brokerage teams on Wall Street, which lend money to hedge funds, held 'all hands on deck' meetings on Friday to prepare for the increasing volume of margin calls, sources told the Financial Times.
Thursday marked the worst performance for US-based long/short equity funds since tracking began in 2016, with the average fund suffering a 2.6 percent loss, according to a new report from Morgan Stanley's prime brokerage division.
The magnitude of the selling across equities on Thursday was in line with the largest on record.
The report also pointed to equity positions resembling those seen during the US regional bank crisis in 2023 and the COVID-19 market sell-off in 2020.
The broader market downturn, particularly in technology and high-end consumer goods sectors, has worsened the situation.
The heavy selling led US long/short equity fund net leverage - how much hedge funds borrow to magnify their investments - to drop to an 18-month low of about 42 percent, Morgan Stanley reported.
However, experts believe the damage could have been worse if hedge funds hadn't already started scaling back stock positions and cutting leverage in response to the ongoing trade war threats from the Trump administration.
In another indication of stress within the hedge fund sector, gold - the precious metal typically seen as a safe haven for investors - fell 2.9 percent on Friday, despite the pervasive market pessimism.
Now, Trump's 'baseline' tariff which came into place past midnight invoked emergency economic powers to address perceived problems with the country's trade deficits.
The trade gaps, said the White House, were driven by an 'absence of reciprocity' in relationships and other policies like 'exorbitant value-added taxes.'
Come April 9, around 60 trading partners - including the European Union, Japan and China - are set to face even higher rates tailored to each economy.

I thought they learned that lesson back in 1929. If you gamble with borrowed money and lose it, the leg breakers will come after you. If you lend people money to gamble without collateral, you're just plain stupid and you deserve to lose it.

[UnofficialNetworks] The Sage Wall in Montana, a possible ancient stone structure, could challenge historical timelines, suggesting advanced engineering and astronomical knowledge by prehistoric North American civilizations.
Deep in Montana’s remote wilderness lies the Sage Wall, a stunning megalithic structure composed of massive granite blocks intricately stacked in a straight line extending 275 feet (84 meters). Reaching up to 25 feet (8 meters) high, with some blocks weighing 91 tons, it is believed that the wall continues an additional 15 feet underground. This unique formation appears to have precise, interlocking stones resembling ancient masonry found worldwide.
Despite its remarkable features, the Sage Wall remained hidden for centuries, covered by dense foliage on private land owned by Christopher Borton and Linda Welsh. Its discovery occurred when the landowners cleared their heavily forested property, revealing the wall and sparking scientific interest. The site drew comparisons to megalithic structures in Peru, Egypt, and other regions due to its angular formations and mysterious knobs on the stones, which are common in ancient constructions globally.
The wall’s construction raises numerous questions about the people who built it. The precision and scale of the stonework indicate a deep understanding of mathematics and astronomy, leading some experts to speculate that the Sage Wall might have served multiple purposes. It could have been a ceremonial site, a defensive structure, or even an astronomical observatory designed to track celestial events. The alignment of certain stones with solstices and equinoxes supports the latter theory, hinting at a complex understanding of the cosmos by its builders.
The discovery of the Sage Wall is challenging the conventional timeline of human activity and architectural development in the region. Previously, such advanced construction techniques were not believed to exist in North America during this period. This site could potentially lead to a reevaluation of the technological and cultural advancements of prehistoric civilizations on the continent, offering a new perspective on the ingenuity and sophistication of ancient peoples.
Michael Collins, from the YouTube channel Wandering Wolf, and Dr. Samir Osmanagich, known for his work on the Bosnian Pyramid, have studied the site. They noted the wall’s magnetic properties and its alignment with the winter solstice, suggesting it might be man-made and predating the last Ice Age. However, some experts argue it is a natural formation resulting from volcanic and tectonic activities. Regardless of its origins, the Sage Wall remains a fascinating site, inviting further exploration and study.

Sorry...my take is that it's not a natural formation.
Single outcropping aligned with the Winter Solstice. What are the odds?
Perfectly circular and geometric carvings in the granite with no hint of intrusion zones responsible if it were naturally occurring.
My NW Wyoming field area in grad school had many areas of Andesite (Granite-like) arrayed in columnar jointing - like Devil's Tower but nothing like this.
Assuming man-made, you could get a more accurate date in that the North Pole is not fixed over time. You could posit a timeline using computer modelling to determine when this site accurately pointed toward the Solstice. This would be done based on the work by Carlotto (2020) and Hapgood (1960's).
They did it on ancient temple sites usually aligned to the cardinal axis but might be applicable here.
Worth a look...

Looking at the video, the stones seem to be unusually orthogonal for igneous rock. I've seen columnar joints in Madeira and Ireland, and lotsa photographs, but it's been a long time since I studied geology.
I did have to look up 'orthogonal' to be sure my memory hadn't failed again. It's a 90-degree orientation.

Orthogonal: up (or down) the Z axis on an X-Y plane. It’s my favourite axis. :-)

The odds are actually 1:180 if totally random. Much less than that based on local factors like general orientation of tectonic features, potentially.
Not saying high odds, but not astronomically low necessarily either. YMMV.

Text taken from the Telegram channels of warriorofnorth and @razved_dozor Colleagues note a huge amount of destroyed enemy equipment on the section of the state border in the Krasnoyarsk district.
However, the main problem in this direction is not a large number of engineering and armored vehicles, but the infantry of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The tactics of using infantry are as follows:
Several small mobile groups of 3 militants try to infiltrate the border, occupy the nearest basement and hold it under the onslaught of artillery and FPV;
two (most likely "busified" or "Squall" units) go forward, the third ("ideological") coordinates their actions and does not give subordinates a chance to "back off";
in case of death of a group, the next one immediately moves forward, then according to the same principle.
The goal of such tactics is to gain a foothold in a certain area, diverting the attention of artillery and FPV, while the main forces, including armored vehicles, break through in the neighboring area. How such "breakthroughs" ended, you have already seen in the footage.
A similar principle was observed in Volchansk. After clearing some streets, many corpses of Ukrainian soldiers were found in the basements of houses, who were sent to hold their positions, after which they were covered by dense fire.
Indeed, the enemy is using its standard tactics of conducting military operations in populated areas. Mobile assault groups are trying to take positions in basements and cellars, while heavy equipment is breaking through in the neighboring area.
RaZved DoZor notes that the assault groups are moving in waves. The enemy can send 5-6 assault groups on foot and on mobile equipment (ATVs) along one route with a difference of several hours. It is considered a success if at least several Ukrainian soldiers reach the target, which is most often a basement or cellar.
However, the "Krasnoyarsk meat grinder" has a key difference from all previous ones arranged by the Ukrainian Armed Forces command. It is the experienced Ukrainian military personnel who have undergone training and were assigned to the 225th separate regiment from other units who are sent directly to the slaughter. At the moment, most of the assault groups are staffed by former servicemen of the mobile air defense groups, the number of which was reduced by Syrsky's personal decision.
The assault groups are commanded by former prisoners, many of whom do not even have military ranks and formally hold the lowest position of "shooter".
The department specified that during this period, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) struck energy facilities in the Bryansk region four times, in the Belgorod region five times, and once each in the Voronezh, Lipetsk, Smolensk, Kherson regions and in the Lugansk People's Republic.
As a result of these attacks, power lines and other equipment for power supply, as well as units and equipment for gas pipelines that ensure the operation of communications were damaged. At the same time, a large number of household consumers were left without electricity.
“Thus, since the morning of Friday, April 4, the Kiev regime, contrary to all statements and commitments made by [the head of the Kiev regime Volodymyr ] Zelensky to the American side to cease strikes on Russian energy facilities for 30 days, has increased the number of unilateral attacks using UAVs and artillery munitions on the energy infrastructure of Russian regions,” the Defense Ministry stated.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin agreed to a temporary moratorium on Moscow and Kiev's strikes on each other's energy facilities during a telephone conversation with his US counterpart Donald Trump on March 18. The head of state immediately gave the Russian army the corresponding order, after which it neutralized seven of its own UAVs aimed at an energy facility in the Nikolaev region.
Zelensky also verbally agreed with the American leader's proposal, stating that Ukraine had allegedly always supported the refusal to attack energy facilities. However, on the night of March 19, Ukrainian forces attacked a Russian oil depot in Kuban and thereby violated the agreement.
Then the Ukrainian Armed Forces continued to strike at energy infrastructure in the Russian Federation. Thus, on the evening of April 4, an FPV drone of the Ukrainian army damaged an energy facility in the Bryansk region. As a result, the power supply to household consumers in the village of Lemeshovka in the Sevsky district was disrupted.
Related from korrespondent.net Russia Lies Again About Energy - Ukrainian General Staff
The aggressor country Russia is again accusing Ukraine of violating ceasefire agreements. This is being done deliberately to distract attention from the crimes committed by the Russians themselves against Ukrainians. This statement was published by the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Saturday, April 5.
Thus, today the Russian Defense Ministry again spread false statements about alleged "violations" by Ukraine of ceasefire agreements regarding energy facilities. On April 4, there were allegedly 14 such attacks against Russian energy infrastructure.
"The enemy is doing this solely to shift the world's attention from the crimes that the Russian state is committing against Ukraine and Ukrainians," the statement said.
The General Staff emphasized that the "attacks" are fake. In reality, the Defense Forces are carrying out fire strikes exclusively against military targets of the Russian occupation army.
At the same time, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine recalled that on April 4, the Russians launched a terrible attack on Krivoy Rog with an Iskander-M ballistic missile, which led to numerous casualties among the civilian population.
In addition, according to military data, over the past 24 hours, the Russian army attacked Ukraine with 92 Shahed-type attack UAVs, dropped 171 guided aerial bombs and used artillery 6,353 times.
As a result of these strikes, civilian and critical infrastructure facilities in Sumy, Kharkiv, Dnepropetrovsk, Poltava, Kyiv, Zaporizhia, Kherson, Chernihiv, Zhytomyr and other regions of Ukraine were damaged.
"The military department of a terrorist state is once again resorting to false accusations, trying to shift its own responsibility for prolonging the war and the deaths of people onto Ukraine," the General Staff said.
Ukrainian military hopes that the world will not accept Russia's lies and will condemn the next brutal Russian war crimes.
Let us recall that on April 4, Russia struck a residential area in Krivoy Rog with an Iskander ballistic missile. According to the latest data, 19 people, including 9 children, became victims of this war crime . 72 people were injured, including 11 children.

[ColonelCassad] The declared service life is 50 years without recharging. The battery does not emit radiation, and at the end of the life cycle, it turns into ordinary copper.
The BV100 nuclear battery is based on the radioactive isotope nickel-63. It is completely safe, since it does not emit heat during the degradation process (it is not explosive) and turns into stable copper. The declared service life without the need for maintenance and recharging is 50+ years. The current version of the battery for mass production has a voltage of 3 V with a total power of 100 microwatts.
The BV100 has an energy density 10 times higher than lithium-ion analogues.
Soon, phones will not need to be charged.
Finally, there will be something to power the Brotherhood of Steel Armor.
Some sort of gaming thing, apparently. If you know, you know.
But seriously, if you put such blocks on drones, this will seriously increase their autonomy in the foreseeable future.
The service life of the atomic power source is reported to be about 50 years. Its size is 15 * 15 * 5 mm, the operating temperature range is from -60 to +120 degrees, that is, literally all temperatures that can be encountered in everyday life, and with a reserve. At the same time, the power source is safe in terms of radioactivity: the half-life of nickel-63 is 100 years, and it decays into "non-radiating" components - a stable isotope of copper.
In addition to this nickel isotope, the battery, which was named BV-100, uses diamond semiconductors - their function is to convert the decay energy of nickel-63 into electricity. To create more powerful power sources based on this technology, the manufacturer is preparing to release a 1-watt element (announced in 2025) and batteries from several sources. It is reported that these batteries are of greatest interest to doctors, manufacturers of drones, gadgets and in the aerospace industry.
And a few years ago, this technology was Russian. "Scientists from NRNU MEPhI have come close to implementing this task," the institute's website reported in early 2023.
In fact, it was invented here (in Russia)
, but the Chinese were the first to move to mass production.
The two cultures would make a marvelous team, if only China’s first move was not always to steal intellectual property and keep all the profits for themselves — in true Communist style.

Sounds like a niche application to me (Reddit)Tell my nickel-63 isotope powered batteries are a bad idea?
Money quote: "...62Ni (used to make 63Ni) is itself a rare (3.6%) isotope of nickel, it first gets enriched to 96% to get a sufficiently high level of 62Ni isotopes to even start the production of 63Ni. Which then needs to undergo 15 reactor cycles of 23 days each."
The decay produces an energetic electron so the only danger might be a soft X-Ray when the electron is captured in the "battery". It might be used as a power supply for deep space missions ...maybe.
BLUF: This is about Hamas misbehaviour getting themselves killed back in March, and the UN and the New York Times trying to stir up trouble.
[IsraelTimes] Military says it’s looking into discrepancy between soldiers’ account and video from medic’s phone, but asserts forces didn’t try to hide incident, denies any executions took place
The Israel Defense Forces acknowledged on Saturday evening that it had been incorrect in its initial account of an incident in southern Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. ’s Rafah last month during which troops fired on Paleostinian emergency vehicles, killing 14 or 15 medics whose bodies were later recovered from a mass grave.
On Saturday, the army detailed the initial findings from its investigation of the incident, which it said was ongoing. It asserted that at least six of those killed had been posthumously identified as Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... operatives, denied that any of those killed had been executed, and said troops had not attempted to hide the incident but rather had informed the UN of the location of the grave.
After the incident came to light, the military, which accuses Hamas of embedding itself in civilian infrastructure, had initially said the vehicles were without headlights or emergency lights, were uncoordinated, and arrived on the scene shortly after a group of terror operatives. As such, the IDF said soldiers deemed them "suspicious" and opened fire.
On Saturday, however, The New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... published a video that appeared to show the emergency vehicles were clearly marked and had their emergency lights on when the IDF opened fire.
UN officials have said that 15 medics were killed by Israeli fire, while the military said that 14 people were killed and one survived.
Paleostinians have accused Israeli forces of attempting to cover up the incident by burying the bodies in a mass grave. Claims have also emerged that some of the bodies had their hands tied and were seemingly rubbed out from close range.
Following the emergence of the video Saturday, the military said that Southern Command chief Maj. Gen. Yaniv Asor would be re-investigating the incident. The complete findings will be presented to IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Eyal Zamir on Sunday.
FINDINGS TO BE HANDED TO IDF CHIEF
According to the military’s findings, the incident began on March 23 amid the resumption of fighting in Gaza, and a new offensive in Rafah’s Tel Sultan neighborhood.
Golani soldiers, who were operating under the 14th Armored Brigade, had set up an ambush on a road in Tel Sultan at around 4 a.m. At that time, the military said, several ambulances and civilians passed by without incident.
At around 4:30 a.m., a Hamas police vehicle drove through the area, and the Golani soldiers exchanged fire with the operatives inside, killing one and capturing two others, the IDF said. The Hamas vehicle remained on the side of the road.
At around 6 a.m., a convoy of ambulances arrived in the area, and the IDF soldiers opened fire, perceiving them as a threat. Drone operators flying a UAV overhead had reported to the Golani soldiers that the vehicles were moving toward them in a suspicious manner.
The initial investigation claimed that the soldiers were surprised by the convoy stopping on the road, next to the abandoned Hamas vehicle, and by several "suspects" jumping out of the convoy and running. The soldiers were said to have been unaware that the suspects were, in fact, unarmed medics.
The IDF acknowledged that based on the video, its initial statement asserting that the ambulances had had their lights off appeared to be incorrect, noting that it was based on the testimony of soldiers involved in the incident.
The new IDF investigation is examining that discrepancy.
The military also said that at least six of the bodies were identified by intelligence officials as Hamas operatives. It was expected to detail the names of the six operatives once the probe was concluded.
The initial findings rejected claims that the soldiers had intentionally targeted the medics from close range or carried out executions.
INFORMING THE UN
The IDF also rejected the assertion that troops had buried the bodies in an unmarked mass grave without informing anyone.
Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy chief Dr. Younis al-Khatib had said on Friday that the aid workers were "targeted from a very close range" and that Israel had "kept us for eight days in the dark" as to the whereabouts of the bodies.
According to the military’s initial probe, a deputy battalion commander in Golani and his troops collected the bodies in one spot, covered them with sand, and marked the burial spot.
The army said that burying bodies in this way was an approved and regular practice during fighting in Gaza, to prevent wild dogs and other animals from eating the corpses.
The United Nations ...boodling on the grand scale... was promptly notified of the burial spot, the IDF said, and was told to come and collect the bodies. The following day, however, the UN was unable to find the location, and the forces were unavailable to assist as they were busy with another task.
The UN was then called to return several days later to collect the bodies, and the bodies were eventually recovered in coordination with the IDF, the initial military probe found.
The UN has said that the mangled ambulances were found buried alongside the bodies.
Officials from the Paleostinian Red Islamic Thingy have said that they will submit the video of the attack, filmed on the phone of one of the slain medics, to the UN Security Council.
The IDF first acknowledged that it had fired on the ambulances and fire engine on March 28, five days after the incident occurred.
The bodies of the medics, who worked for the Red Islamic Thingy, the United Nations, and the Hamas-linked Paleostinian Civil Defense, were recovered from the mass grave on April 1.
The International Federation of Red Thingy and Red Islamic Thingy Societies said that the incident was the single most deadly attack on Red Thingy or Red Islamic Thingy workers anywhere since 2017.
According to the United Nations, at least 1,060 healthcare workers have been killed in the 18 months since Israel launched its offensive in Gaza in response to Hamas’s October 7 onslaught, during which some 1,200 people were killed, and roughly 250 were taken hostage by terrorists.
The IDF says that Hamas operatives regularly operate from within medical facilities.
The incident in the Tel Sultan neighborhood came five days after Israel restarted intense bombing of Gaza on March 18 and then launched a new ground offensive, shattering a nearly two-month ceasefire in the war with Hamas.

a video that appeared to show the emergency vehicles were clearly marked and had their emergency lights on when the IDF opened fire.
Pardon my cynicism, but...
Of course the vehicles were clearly marked. They are ambulances after all, commonly used for fighters and weapons.
As for the lights, adding extra lights to a recorded scene is nephew-grade VFX. Thanks to modern technology, you do not need to be Industrial Light & Magic for such trickery.
I am not claiming the video is fake. I have not seen it. But we live in an age where photographic evidence ain't, so color me skeptical.
[PJMedia] Thanks to the mainstream media in the United States, most Americans believe that Israeli politics are simple; that Israelis are about to have a civil war over hostages and what should be done with Hamas ..the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,... ; that most Israelis cannot stand Benjamin Netanyahu; and that Netanyahu is a corrupt leader who has betrayed his people for political opportunism.
Nothing could be further from the actual truth on all of these points.
Before going into the details of each of these issues, it is important to remember where these reports are coming from-- namely, the same "news" outlets that said Hunter Biden’s computer was fake, the Russian collusion propaganda was real, and that Donald Trump ...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down... is a fascist ...anybody you disagree with, damn them... dictator who wants to be the king of America. The exact same people who made those fallacious claims domestically in the United States are making the same type of claims about Israel... and with the same agenda.
The "deep state" in America is mirrored in Israel, where there is a partnership between a leftist media and leftist corrupt leaders who have for years been attempting to take over the politics of the Holy Land. In the same way that we have seen this Deep State attack President Trump, the same has been happening for years against Netanyahu, and for the same reasons: both men truly want what is best for their respective countries; and both men are not willing to succumb to Deep State alliances of media, babus bureaucrats, and corrupt leftists.
For Trump's entire first presidency, we saw an attempted coup to remove him from office that utilized everything from false charges and ridiculous impeachments, to propaganda put out by media outlets, to staged riots and well-funded demonstrations. Looking back, most Americans have recognized the corruption that was involved in these attempts, and that there really was a coordinated effort to remove him from office by any means possible.
Prime Minister Netanyahu has been and is experiencing the same thing. And in the same way that the Deep State of America was exposed and, as a result, weakened, the same exposing must take place of the Israeli Deep State.
It is simplest to start with understanding the man, and why he is hated by his opposition. Benjamin Netanyahu, who has served on and off as prime minister for over 17 years starting in 1996, has dedicated his life to serving Israel. Having first enlisted in 1967 as part of the IDF special forces unit, Sayeret Matkal, he came to the U.S. for college. He earned multiple degrees from both MIT and Harvard; reenlisted in the IDF each time there was a conflict or war; and always strove to honor the memory of his brother and best friend Yonaton, who died rescuing the hostages in the raid on Entebbe, in which more than 100 hostages were rescued in 1976.
By 1978, he had returned to Israel and founded the Jonathan Netanyahu Anti-Terror Institute. He started to develop political relationships and became involved in Israeli politics, becoming Israel's ambassador to the United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... from 1984 to 1989. Netanyahu became a member of the Knesset in 1988, became leader of the Likud party, and first became prime minister in 1996.
From 1967 onwards, this man dedicated his life to the defense of Israel, and specifically since 1978, to fighting terrorism. His political beliefs have always been reflective of the man himself. Willard Mitt Romney, aka Pierre Delecto ...former governor of Massachussetts, the Publican nominee for president in 2012, now Senator from Utah. He is the son of the former governor of Michigan, George Romney, who himself ran for president after saving American Motors from failure, though not permanently. Romney has a record as a successful businessman, heading Bain Capital, and he rescued the 2002 Winter Olympics from the midst of bribery and mismanagement scandals. He is currently a trans Republican and a member in good standing of the Never Trump Party, attempting to assume the mantle of the late John McCain...> , with whom he worked at Boston Consulting Group directly out of college, described Netanyahu almost 40 years ago as "a strong personality with a distinct point of view." Shaped by the tragic loss of his brother, Netanyahu has, for almost half a century, worked to fight evil and defend Israel.
As in the United States and President Trump's case, having the values of defending your nation and fighting evil do not necessarily make you popular with the "swamp."
Netanyahu was always a polarizing figure in Israel, but everything changed for him and for the world with the election of the self-appointed Messiah, Barack Obama How much damage could he do in four years?... Eight, then... , in 2008. Obama, whose actions demonstrated an anti-Semitism that liberal American Jews did not want to recognize at the time, expected Netanyahu to kowtow to his slightest whim. Obama was entirely ignorant of Middle Eastern history, and was committed to a Paleostinian state with 1967 borders and to being allied with Iran.
Netanyahu knew that these values were antithetical to the survival of the State of Israel. Despite Obama's attempts to control Netanyahu through either "the carrot or the stick", Netanyahu kept his commitment to his values, which enraged Obama. In his 2022 memoir, Netanyahu wrote that Obama "had given [Paleostinian Authority President] the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ...aka Abu Mazen, a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial. While no Yasser Arafat, he has his own brand of evil, just a little more lowercase....> a secret commitment to establish a full-fledged Paleostinian state before he left office," something that Israel could not and should not ever accept.
The autobiography makes clear the hatred of Obama towards Netanyahu, and the many ways that Obama strove to both hurt Israel politically and Netanyahu personally. He speaks about Obama acting like a gangster with threats, and Obama's fury at Netanyahu not capitulating. When Netanyahu was invited by Congress to speak in 2015 without Obama's blessing, Obama's anger was increased exponentially yet again. And with his anger came actions against Netanyahu.
Similar to the case of President Trump, Obama successfully started using his relationships in the media and the bureaucracy to attack Netanyahu. The Deep State was already well entrenched in Obama's regime. We all now know how it used its partnership with mainstream media to attack Trump repeatedly. But it also attacked Netanyahu.
It wasn't just American media that attacked Netanyahu. As in the United States, there are many leftists involved in Israeli media. The Jerusalem Post is almost identical to the New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... in tone and agenda. As of this week, the editor of the Post, Zvika Klein, is even being questioned about Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. It sits on some really productive gas and oil deposits, which produces the highest per capita income in the world. They piss it all away on religion, financing the Moslem Brotherhood and several al-Qaeda affiliates. Home of nutbag holy manYusuf al-Qaradawi... ’s financial support of the paper and Klein’s suspected involvement with foreign agents. The Times of Israel, although it does have some conservative voices, is also essentially a mouthpiece for leftist values, as are many of the Israeli television channels. The Deep State in Israel, supported and aligned by the leftists here in the United States, has been attacking Netanyahu for years. And like in America, it is not just the media, but self-serving politicians who seek their own power rather than the good of their nation.
Yair Lapid, the leader of the opposition party, was briefly prime minister in between Netanyahu's terms. Like the stereotypical politician, he is concerned with his own power rather than the well-being of his country and people. Even when asked by his government not to travel to the United States, Lapid has taken every opportunity to meet with Obama, Joe The Big Guy Biden ...46th president of the U.S. The very model of probity.... , and others in the Democratic party leadership to garner their support and his hopeful election. But his efforts to weaken Netanyahu pale in comparison to the attempts by Israeli courts to destroy Netanyahu and legislate from the bench.
Unlike the United States, Israel does not have a formal written constitution. Although in its Declaration of Independence there is a commitment that there would be one, this was supplanted by a concept of Basic Laws in 1950 that eventually became the base of a written constitution. But because of a series of legal judgments by the Israeli High Court, that never happened.
Instead, the Israeli High Court actually holds a tremendous amount of the power, including the ability to change any laws passed by the Knesset. High Court judges are appointed positions and serve until they are 70 years old. Currently, three judges were appointed by Shimon Peres, who had been one of the officials in 2005 supporting Israel's entire withdrawal from Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... . Four other judges were appointed by current President Herzog, who is a great man on many levels, but a center/left politician who appointed left-leaning judges.
Because the judges of the High Court are not elected but have control over Israeli legislation, there have been many conflicts, especially during the terms of Netanyahu. Recently, in July of 2023, the Knesset passed legislation to prevent the High Court from overturning legislation that was passed by elected officials of the Knesset. This bill was passed to prevent the court from forcing Israel to act based upon the liberal interpretations of the Court, as opposed to the desires of the prime minister, Knesset, and the people themselves. Because of the very odd way the basic law is structured, the High Court was deciding for itself whether it should lose power or not. Unsurprisingly, the court voted 8-7 to overturn this legislation written by elected officials, but that would weaken their own personal power and prohibit them from continuing to legislate from the bench.
A Deep State that includes politicians, media, and the judicial branch: Israel mirrors the United States in this dangerous alliance. And again, just as in the United States, this alliance is joined by well-financed "activists" and demonstrators. In America, this has led to the many attempted coups to remove President Trump from office. In Israel, this same cabal is working in the same way to attempt a coup on Prime Minister Netanyahu.
[PJMedia] We are all familiar with the many attempted coups against President Trump by a Deep State comprising babus bureaucrats, media, and corrupt judges more attached to their political ideology than to justice. Part of what led to these attempts at removing President Trump, including liquidation attempts, were the "demonstrations": BLM, trans-ideology, and any leftist cause that could be used to coalesce the left and create "demonstrations" against the president. Demonstrations that were then used by the media to create a propaganda myth that the nation was against him; and then the propaganda led to more well-funded demonstrations, and the spiral increased to a chaotic frenzy.
Israel mirrors the United States in this dangerous alliance of a Deep State comprising media, judges, and politicians. And again, just like in the United States, this alliance is joined by well-financed "activists" and demonstrators.
In July of 2023, I was in Israel with my family and saw many of these "demonstrations" against Benjamin Netanyahu in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv. These were all well-organized, choreographed, well-produced, and well-financed events, complete with expensive sound systems, food and drinks, and large flags and umbrellas provided to everyone. They looked like BLM 2.0. Moreover, they would begin and end exactly on time, as if on a perfect schedule. As a graduate of UC Berkeley, I have been part of many organic demonstrations, and not one ever started exactly at 10:00 p.m. and ended exactly at 10:30 p.m. on the dot. Tens if not hundreds of thousands of dollars of swag were given out to these "activists" in the form of large flags ($40-50 a piece) and umbrellas ($20-40 per umbrella), and complete meals were provided. Nearly all of the demonstrators I spoke with did not live in Israel, but had come over from the United States specifically for the purpose of protesting.
Americans? I’d missed that interesting datum…
Where did the money come for this? It is still unclear, but we do know that 230 million dollars was given to "pro-Paleostinian causes" last year by USAID. A Senate investigation found that in 2015, the Obama Administration sent over $350,000 of taxpayer money to support the election of Netanyahu's opponent.
That was a US State Department spend, as I recall, along with the donation of Democratic Party consultants to help organize the V15 campaign.
Wherever it comes from, be it USAID or George Soros ...either Ernst Stavro Blofeld or Auric Goldfinger come true. Maybe both....
Was Soros involved, too? I seem to recall that the Progressive billionaire entrepreneur funding this stuff was the brilliant Mexican-American Daniel Lubetzky, founder of Kind Snacks and the international “grassroots” OneVoice Movement that was intended at the beginning of the millennium to amplify moderate pro-peace Arab and Israeli voices, but became a tool of the political left
these demonstrations are well-funded events designed to further leftist causes and hurt Netanyahu as Israel's leader. And what came out of these demonstrations? Fake news in American and Israeli media about how Israel is divided, how it hates Netanyahu, and how horrible and corrupt a human being he is.
The attacks on Netanyahu are direct reflections of what President Trump experienced both during his first term and his candidacy.
In the midst of these Deep State attempts to have a coup against Netanyahu, October 7 happened. Israel's very existence was threatened, and President Biden and both the American and Israeli Deep States used it as an opportunity to try to remove Netanyahu and place themselves in control of the policies of the region. Like his predecessor Obama, Biden said that he supported Israel while simultaneously cutting off their weapons supply, supporting Hamas ..always the voice of sweet reason... and Iran, and actively undermining Netanyahu. The anti-Netanyahu demonstrations shifted from being about the courts, to being about the hostages Hamas kidnapped. Mainstream media both in the United States and in Israel have, for over 17 months, tried to describe Israel as a nation that believes that Netanyahu is wrong in his actions, and that he desires to kill the hostages for his own political gain.
Nothing could be further from the truth. Netanyahu, who has over 40 years of experience with terrorism and hostage issues, especially with Islamic bully boys, has worked every hour to try and simultaneously redeem the hostages and protect the nation — two goals that from the beginning have probably been mutually exclusive. Hamas only responds to violence, and kidnapped the hostages originally with the intent of using them as leverage chips against Israel. But Netanyahu has been trying to rescue every hostage possible in any way possible, while still preserving the safety of Israel. The vast majority of Israeli citizens agree with what he has done, although that certainly is not what the mainstream media in Israel or the United States portrays.
Both in Israel and America, headlines talk about Israel being close to a civil war. The media claims that thousands of people are demonstrating to stop any military action against Hamas, and to do anything necessary to redeem the hostages, even though Hamas has broken every hostage deal. But that portrayal is only part of a picture, and certainly not the whole truth of what is happening in Israel.
Judaism values every individual soul, and has always been committed to trying to get each hostage home to their family. Every family that has someone who is still being held in captivity is praying for their release, and is willing to do anything in order to achieve that. But the majority of Israelis recognize that they are unlikely to see many more living hostages released, and every Israeli is aware that over 800 IDF soldiers have already died in this war. Netanyahu has been trying to walk a razor's edge in getting as many hostages back as possible while still keeping Israel safe. With Trump’s support, that is now much easier as both nations are allied against Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... and its proxies of Hamas, the Iran's Houthi sock puppets ...a Zaidi Shia insurgent group operating in Yemen. On the plus side, they did murder Ali Abdullah Saleh, which was the only way the country was ever going to be rid of him... s, and Hezbollah.
As Israel starts to take the action, with Trump's support, of destroying Hamas, the Deep State is pressing even harder to get rid of Netanyahu in any way they can... just like they tried with Trump. They have tried to remove Netanyahu using the court system as leverage; they have tried using the war as leverage; they have tried using his relationship with Trump as leverage; and, most recently, they are trying to use his firing of the head of the Shin Bet as leverage.
Ronen Bar, head of the Israeli internal security force Shin Bet, is recognized as someone who has always been against Netanyahu, and who is at least partially personally responsible for the failure in Israeli security to prevent the tragedies of October 7. Netanyahu and the Israeli cabinet voted unanimously on March 21 to remove Bar as the head of the agency. But the Deep State is again attempting to use this as a weapon against Netanyahu. The majority of Israelis have wanted Bar removed for a while, but the media makes claims that it is illegal, even though the minister and cabinet all voted for it. Some of the High Court judges are making media appearances and claiming that only they have the right to judge this head of security. These High Court judges are attempting to not only hold off Bar’s dismissal, but to prevent a new head from being appointed... even though Israel is in the midst of war. Newspapers in both America and Israel are claiming that thousands of people are organically demonstrating against Netanyahu because of the firing of Bar, and that a civil war is brewing.
None of this is true. Like the earlier demonstrations, these too are not happening organically, but are well-funded and well-produced events. The choice of hiring and firing a Shin Bet security chief is and has always been in the hands of the prime minister and cabinet. The alliance that is the Deep State is again trying to create a coup over a duly elected official. Just like in the United States, fake news is released as truth, and the News Agency that Dare Not be Named uses incendiary phrases against Netanyahu and claims Netanyahu is starting an uproar in Israel, while at the same time complaining of Israeli aggression for destroying a Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... cancer hospital that was used as a Hamas base.

IMO, Leftism is a mental disease. Most "educated" Leftist are motivated by the fact that, subconsciously, they know they're second rate as individuals.

[Regnum] Priest Igor 'Dead eye'
of the Kursk diocese destroyed two drones of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) with a shot from a double-barreled shotgun. This was announced on April 5 on the website of the Russian Orthodox Church (ROC).
"The priests of our diocese, who have been working in the military department since the beginning of the operation... took 70 residents from the city and nearby villages to Kursk for treatment and rehabilitation. They had to shoot back at drones several times, and Father Igor shot down two enemy drones with a double-barreled shotgun that were pursuing their car," says the report by Metropolitan Herman of Kursk and Rylsk.
[JustTheNews] The combination of the tariffs and the Saudi-led response dropped Brent crude oil prices down to just $65.58 a barrel.
The global oil market on Friday saw prices hit its lowest number since 2021, with Brent crude oil being down nearly 6% at the end of trading.
The oil prices come as the stock market also recoils over President Donald Trump's new tariffs on all imports into the U.S., which also included 25% tariffs on countries that import oil and gas from Venezuela and then trade with the United States.
The drop in prices also comes after the OPEC Plus oil cartel led by Saudi Arabia announced its own increase in oil output, which would take place in May, according to the New York Times.
The combination of the tariffs and the Saudi-led response dropped Brent crude oil prices down to just $65.58 a barrel, the New York Times also reported. It was at $74 a barrel on Monday.
China retaliated against the U.S. tariffs on Friday by promising to impose 34% tariffs on the country.
However the refineries are switching to the summer blend of gasoline. This switch combined with some refineries closed for the maintenance produced the increase in gasoline prices.

[Regnum] Ukrainians do not need to know the whole truth about the military conflict, as this could lead to the emergence of "different opinions" in society. This opinion was expressed by the head of military intelligence of Ukraine, Kirill Budanov (an individual included in the list of terrorists and extremists in the Russian Federation).
"I think it's unnecessary to know the truth. Otherwise, people might have different opinions," Budanov said in an interview with Ukrainian journalist Anna Maksimchuk.
At the same time, he admitted that Ukrainians will be allowed to know the truth later. Budanov also clarified that he is not talking about "distortion" of reality. However, all information about the conflict should be given in measured doses, he believes.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, in October 2024, the European Commission (EC) in its report to the candidate states for the European Union (EU), including Ukraine, criticized the Ukrainian telethon, noting that it does not provide an objective picture of what is happening in the country. The EC also reproached the Rada TV channel for the lack of coverage of the opposition's activities.
The European Commission called on Ukraine to gradually establish a transparent, pluralistic and independent media landscape, without waiting for the end of hostilities.
Short version: The weather's getting worse.
[BBC] Anyone peering into the 125 metre (410ft) deep pit will wonder what secrets and stories lie beneath.
Now, scientists have discovered the natural oddity provides evidence of a concerning trend.
A layered sediment core extracted from the bottom of the hole provides a 5,700-year storm archive – and it shows the weather is only getting worse.
In 2022, researchers from Goethe University Frankfurt transported a drilling platform over the open sea to the Blue Hole, and then proceeded to extract a 30-metre sediment core from the underwater cave.
Now, analysis reveals the layered sediment has served as an archive for extreme weather events for thousands of years, including tropical storms and hurricanes.
Dr Dominik Schmitt, a researcher in the Biosedimentology Research Group and the study's lead author, said: 'Due to the unique environmental conditions – including oxygen-free bottom water and several stratified water layers – fine marine sediments could settle largely undisturbed in the Great Blue Hole.'
The sediment core looks a bit like tree rings, with annual layers alternating in colour between grey-green and light green.
Over the years, storm waves and storm surges have transported coarse particles from the nearby atoll reef into the Hole, forming distinct layers at the bottom.
These storm deposits stand out from the fair-weather grey-green sediments in terms of grain size, composition and colour, which ranges from beige to white.
The research team, which also included scientists from Cologne, Göttingen, Hamburg, and Bern, identified a total of 574 storm events over the past 5,700 years.
This provides a much longer snapshot of climate fluctuations and hurricane cycles than instrumental data and human records, which only date back around 175 years.
They discovered that the distribution of storm event layers in the sediment core show the frequency of tropical storms and hurricanes in the southwestern Caribbean has steadily increased over the past 6,000 years.
Higher sea-surface temperatures were also linked to increased storm activity, they found.
Over the past six millennia, between four and 16 tropical storms and hurricanes passed over the Great Blue Hole per 100 years.
However, the nine storm layers from the past 20 years indicate that extreme weather events will be significantly more frequent in this region in the 21st century, the researchers warned.
Yes, but is this just the extreme end of normal variation likely to return to average over time, or OH MY GOD — THE WORLD IS COMING TO AN END!!!111!! Personally, I’d bet against the BBC when it comes to climate predictions.
'Our results suggest that some 45 tropical storms and hurricanes could pass over this region in our century alone,' Professor Eberhard Gischler, who also worked on the study, said.
'This would far exceed the natural variability of the past millennia.'
Natural climate fluctuations cannot account for this increase, the researchers warned, pointing instead to the ongoing warming during the Industrial Age,
…up significantly from the Little Ice Age before it, but only recently are they once again growing wine grapes in Britain, and the glaciers receding enough to reveal Medieval communities in Greenland and the Alps.
which results in rising ocean temperatures and stronger global La Niña events.
This creates the perfect conditions for frequent storm formation and their rapid intensification, they added.
Writing in the journal Science Advances they said: 'Predictions of tropical cyclone frequencies are hampered by insufficient knowledge of their natural variability in the past.
'A 30m-long sediment core from the Great Blue Hole, a marine sinkhole offshore Belize, provides the longest available, continuous, and annually resolved tropical cyclone frequency record.
'A 21st-century extrapolation suggests an unprecedented increase in tropical cyclone frequency, attributable to the Industrial Age warming.'
10 facts about Belize's Great Blue Hole
1. The Blue Hole was formed at the end of the last Ice Age when rising seawaters flooded a series of enormous caverns.
2. Geologists have determined that the caves first formed about 153,000 years ago and were completely submerged approximately 15,000 years ago.
3. It is located approximately 60 miles offshore from Belize City and is part of the Belize Barrier Reef, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
4. The underwater caves of the Blue Hole are filled with giant stalactites - proof that it once existed above water.
5. It is home to several shark species including Caribbean reef sharks, nurse sharks, hammerheads, bull sharks, and black tip sharks.
6. While the Great Blue Hole is open on the surface, it features an extensive cave system that requires a lot of diving skill to successfully navigate. Only divers with at least 24 dives under their belt are allowed inside.
7. In 2012, the Discovery Channel ranked the Blue Hole as #1 on its list of 10 Most Amazing Places on Earth.
8. It is visible from space and is easily identifiable by its unique circular formation and location within the midst of the greater Belize Barrier Reef.
9. The name 'Blue Hole' was coined by the British diver Ned Middleton in his book '10 Years Underwater' published in 1988.
10. In 2018 Richard Branson was part of an expedition team who travelled to the bottom of the hole - and found plastic bottles on the sea floor.

The European Commission admits it has used EU funds that were supposed to "fight climate change" for financing left-wing NGOs and climate organizations with the aim of silencing the voices of European conservatives in a secretive influence operation.
The funds came from the LIFE Program, which is supposed to fund environmental initiatives and has had a total budget of EUR 9 billion since 2014.
The LIFE program is a funding instrument dedicated to environmental, nature conservation, and climate action projects but some of the funds were instead used to attack conservative and eurosceptic voices according to the Austrian newspaper eXXpress.
The European Commission has issued a short statement on the matter:
"The Commission finds that the work programmes presented by the activist organizations (...) contained inappropriate lobbying activities"
According to internal documents, the targeted campaigns were designed in cooperation between EU agencies and climate NGOs, including planning which critics would be targeted.
- "We see this as a clear misstep by both individual EU officials and organizations," Peter Liese (CDU/Germany), environment policy spokesperson for the conservative EPP group, told eXXpress and added "the misuse of EU funds must stop"
According to the European Commission, changes are now to be introduced to the LIFE program to prevent future excesses.
Guidelines banning subsidized lobbying by EU institutions were already introduced in autumn 2024 - but it is only now that the abuses are being publicly confirmed.
Only a third of organizations and NGOs that received money from the LIFE Program openly disclose their income and how the funds are used, which has led to criticism of lack of transparency.
The former EU Climate Commissioner Frans Timmermans orchestrated the secret contracts with environmental NGOs.
These contracts reportedly included detailed lobbying plans specifying targets and goals. It means that the European Commission provided not just funding but also strategic direction on whom to oppose in a coordinated effort to attack political opponents of the European Commission's climate agenda.
NGOs were instructed to focus on critics of the Green Deal, such as conservative MEPs, national politicians, or parties (Austria’s FPÖ and ÖVP parties are likely among the targets) who resisted stringent climate regulations.
For example, the European Environmental Bureau (EEB), a major NGO network, is accused of being tasked with influencing EU Parliament decisions by targeting lawmakers who opposed ambitious environmental laws, like the Renaturierungsgesetz (Nature Restoration Law).
Practically all the opponents targeted are conservatives skeptical of centralized EU policies, often from populist or nationalist factions of the European Parliament as well as national parliaments.
LIFE Program funds in the order of EUR 15.5 million were sent annually to NGOs—as a tool to enforce this coordination.
It seems that the European Commissions's funding of many of these NGOs came with strings attached: NGOs had to align their campaigns with the Commission’s political goals, including neutralizing opposition by running “shadow lobbying” operations, crafting campaigns to sway public opinion and pressure decision-makers against Green Deal critics.
This included pushing narratives that framed opponents as anti-environment or anti-progress, effectively sidelining their influence.
The EEB, for instance, reportedly had to provide “at least 16 examples” of how their lobbying made EU laws tougher, implying a deliberate effort to counter resistance from conservative lawmakers.
The NGOs leveraged media partnerships and public advocacy to amplify their attacks. By framing critics as obstacles to climate action, they aimed to discredit them politically.
The work was outsourced by the European Commission and major NGOs like the EEB that were responsible for setting priorities, which smaller groups then executed.
Three of the EU's largest conservative party groups, the EPP, ECR, and PfE have called for a pushback against the Commission’s funding practices.
In early 2025, EPP MEPs, alongside ECR and PfE MEPs, threatened to freeze €15.6 million in annual LIFE funding to around 30 environmental NGOs.
The MEPs demanded accountability and alleged that the Commission’s Directorate-General for Environment (DG ENV) secretly paid NGOs to lobby for stricter climate policies and thus undermined the legislative independence of the European Parliament and national parliaments.
EPP figures like Monika Hohlmeier, vice-chair of the Parliament’s budgetary committee, criticized the Commission for what she called “scandalous one-sided methods,” insisting on repayment of misused funds dating back a decade
The EPP MEP @TomasZdechovsky
has said there is whistleblower evidence of “secret contracts” directing NGOs to lobby MEPs.
A few weeks ago, the EPP softened its stance slightly with a last-minute shift: they would drop the funding freeze if the Commission provided a transparency statement.
However, after a narrow defeat in the environment committee (41-40 vote on March 31, 2025), the Dutch EPP MEP @sandersmitwzn
accused the Commission of reneging on a deal to admit abuses, showing lingering frustration in the EPP.
The ECR, a Eurosceptic and right-wing group, has aligned with the EPP in this controversy, amplifying the narrative of overreach by Brussels:
Several ECR MEPs, including @FiocchiPietro
of Giorgia Meloni's Fratelli d’Italia party , co-tabled the objection to LIFE funding with the EPP, arguing that the Commission allowed “targeted lobbying” that disrupted institutional balance.
The ECR's broader agenda of halting EU federalism is closely connected to what it perceives as constant overreach by the European Commission.
EPP, ECR and PfE frame the NGOs’ efforts as targeting “critics of the Green Deal,” which implicitly includes their own members—conservatives and populists who resist aggressive climate policies. Parties like Austria’s ÖVP (EPP) and FPÖ (PfE), Italy’s Fratelli d’Italia (ECR), and Poland’s Law and Justice (ECR) are likely inferred targets, given their vocal skepticism of EU environmental mandates.
Many of the NGOs were focused on issues concerning farming, migration, and climate regulations, making it likely that figures such as the Dutch BBB MEP Sander Smit (EPP), who represents farmer interests, or ECR’s Fiocchi, tied to Italy’s rural and industrial base, were either direct or indirect targets of the NGOs.
Following the Russian invasion of Ukraine, increased Russian aggression against the EU itself (such as sabotage of undersea infrastructure) and the foreign policy changes in the U.S. under President Trump, the debate on the EU abandoning the Green Deal has reignited.
As the Trump administration has stated that all NATO allies should be required to increase military spending to 5% of GDP, many European politicians now realize the Green Deal isn't just making European economies uncompetitive, but also erodes European capabilities to rearm their militaries to the degree needed for Europe to be able to protect EU member states such as Finland, Sweden, the Baltic States and Poland from potential Russian invasions without massive American military support.
The debate in Europe on withdrawing from the Green Deal is just getting started.
