So called 'Sanctuary City' crime.
[ICE Newsroom] SAN FRANCISCO ‐ Fourteen Bay Area members of the 19th Street Sureños gang, and the associated 16th Street Sureños gang, have been charged in a federal indictment with a variety of offenses, including racketeering and murder, following a two-year probe by U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement’s (ICE) Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) and the San Francisco Police Department.
Thirteen of the defendants were taken into custody during a joint law enforcement operation Wednesday in San Francisco and Daly City. HSI special agents and investigators from the San Francisco Police Department, aided by the U.S. Secret Service and Daly City Police Department, arrested all of the named defendants except Alberto Torres, who is expected to be taken into custody shortly.
"This is the third major racketeering case against members of a criminal street gang here in the Bay Area stemming from a probe by Homeland Security Investigations," said Clark Settles, special agent in charge of HSI San Francisco. "This week’s arrests are the culmination of a long-term investigation by HSI special agents and investigators from the San Francisco Police Department. Together, we are sending a message to these dangerous street gangs about the consequences of using violence and fear to further their criminal enterprise."
SASEBO/TOKYO, Japan (Reuters) - Japan on Saturday activated its first marine unit since World War Two trained to counter invaders occupying Japanese islands along the edge of the East China Sea that Tokyo fears are vulnerable to attack by China.
The activation of the 2,100 strong ARDB takes Japan a step closer to creating a force similar to a U.S. Marine Expeditionary Unit (MEU) able to plan and execute operations at sea far from its home base.
"They've already demonstrated the ability to put together an ad hoc MEU. But to have a solid, standing MEU capability requires concerted effort," Grant Newsham, a research fellow at the Japan Forum for Strategic Studies.
"If Japan put its mind to it, within a year or year and a half it could have a reasonable capability."
[SUN] SEVERAL people are dead and others injured after a car reportedly ploughed into a crowd of pedestrians in Germany today.
The incident took place in the city of Munster and members of the public have been warned to stay away from "inner city areas" by police.

It is believed that the crash took place near the statue Kipernkel statue in the old town area of the city.
In terrifying photographs of the scene, crowds could be seen gathered around several injured, while restaurant chairs and tables were left scattered across the ground.
Panicked people can be seen calling for help, with others rush to the aid of the injured.

PROVO, Utah (AP) ‐ A Utah man has died after his shirt caught on fire during family barbecue on Easter.
The Daily Herald reports 73-year-old Larry Webster died Wednesday after he was severely burned outside his home in Spanish Fork on Sunday.
Family members say his polyester shirt caught on fire as he lit the grill. The family rushed to his side and helped put out the flames.
His granddaughter Mandee Webster says he was on fire for less than two minutes. Larry Webster was flown to the burn center at the University of Utah Hospital in Salt Lake City.
The family says he had burns on 48 percent of his body with second-degree burns on his face.

Been grilling on Webers longer than Mr. Rabbit and my money is on AH9418 for the win (or loss).
The fire ain't going good enough so give that full can of lighter fluid a real hard squeeze. Bet you can get the flame to come right up the stream to the can in your hands.
Actually happened to my cousin's husband that way. While it didn't kill him it wasn't pretty. Add in the polyester shirt................

SAN DIEGO (AP) ‐ The U.S. National Guard faces a vastly different environment than it did on its last two deployments to the border with Mexico, with far fewer illegal crossings and more Central Americans than Mexicans coming.
Still, its role is shaping up much the same: moving more Border Patrol agents from behind-the-scenes jobs to the front lines.
President Donald Trump told reporters Thursday that he wants to send between 2,000 and 4,000 National Guard members to the U.S.-Mexico border to help federal officials fight illegal immigration and drug trafficking. That estimate is lower than the 6,400 Guard members that former President George Bush sent to the border.
From 2006 to 2008, the Guard fixed vehicles, maintained roads, repaired fences and performed ground surveillance. Its second mission in 2010 and 2011 involved more aerial surveillance and intelligence work. People involved in both operations say the Guard was the Border Patrol’s "eyes and ears."
Federal law limits military involvement in civilian law enforcement, creating a supporting role for the Guard. The Trump administration and governors haven’t said precisely what the troops will do, but Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen anticipates vehicle maintenance and aerial surveillance will be in the mix.

And the BP needs the Guard's surveillance tech and mobility. Smart call. It's not going to stop the illegals - and be prepared for the Usual Suspects to start proclaiming this a complete failure within hours - but it'll make a difference.

[ZH] A small Norwegian town just inside the Arctic circle and which lies close to the Russian border was jolted awake shortly before midnight on Wednesday as its Civil Defense warning system was triggered and sirens blared, causing locals to believe they were under threat of Russian invasion.
Vadso Norway is a town of only 5,000 but is positioned close enough to its neighbor that locals can see Russia on a clear day. There has long been a Norwegian military intelligence base in Vadso, which monitors the nearby Russian Murmansk naval base across the border to the East, long serving as an observation post for Severomorsk - the main administrative base of the Russian Northern Fleet, out of which at the height of the Cold War over 200 submarines operated.
Which consists of a box that says, "In case of emergency, break glass and call America."

[Mail] American Airlines has cancelled a major deal with Airbus for 22 A350s, announcing it has instead purchased 47 787 Dreamliners from rivals Boeing in a deal valued at $12 billion.
The airline said it had also reached an agreement with Airbus to 'terminate its order' in an effort to 'simplify its fleet'.
But the announcement marks the end of a hard-fought contest between the two firms over who was to take on the significant order. The sudden shift is a blow to France-based Airbus - who previously supplied American Airlines with nearly three dozen A350s.
'This was a difficult decision between the Boeing 787 and the Airbus A350 and A330neo and we thank both manufacturers for their aggressive efforts to earn more of American's business,' said American Airlines president Robert Isom.
'In the end, our goal to simplify our fleet made the 787 a more compelling choice.' The order comprises 22 787-8s scheduled to begin arriving in 2020 and 25 787-9s scheduled to begin arriving in 2023.
[Wash Times] A Virginia man threatened to kill a Republican congressman while saying he was trying to defend special counsel Bob Mueller’s probe into the Trump administration, prosecutors said Friday in announcing federal charges against the man.
Christopher Michael McGowan was afraid that Mr. Mueller’s probe might be derailed and took exception to a local congressman, Rep. Bob Goodlatte, who had raised questions last year about the fairness of the special counsel investigation.
In a series of Twitter messages dating back to December Mr. McGowan said he was defending Mr. Mueller, and repeatedly vowed to obtain a gun to kill Mr. Goodlatte.
After some December messages local police visited him and he said didn’t actually intend to hurt the congressman. But in April he renewed the threats: "You keep [expletive] with our constitution and challenging Mueller and the last you see will be my patriot ass behind a gun you should have long ago prevented me owning pulling a trigger to your head (sic.)," Mr. McGowan wrote in an April 1 message.
Minutes later he posted another message bragging about the threat, acknowledging he had publicly threatened a sitting congressman and predicted he would not be punished. "You better get on those gun laws. I am buying one intended for you in 3 days. Can you legally stop me?" he then posted.

[Vox] Are search engines making us more racist? A new book shows how Google’s search algorithms quietly reinforce racist stereotypes.
According to Safiya Umoja Noble, a professor of communication at the University of Southern California, the answer is almost certainly yes. Noble's bio is revealing. You'll only need to read the first 50 words or so.
Noble’s new book, Algorithms of Oppression: How Search Engines Reinforce Racism, challenges the idea that search engines like Google provide a level playing field for all ideas, values, and identities. She says they’re inherently discriminatory and favor the groups that designed them, as well as the companies that fund them.
This isn’t a trivial topic, especially in a world where people get more information from search engines than they do from teachers or libraries. For Noble, Google is not just telling people what they want to know but also determining what’s worth knowing in the first place.
I reached out to Noble last week to find out what she had learned about the unseen factors driving these algorithms, and what the consequences of ignoring them might be.
A lightly edited transcript of our conversation follows.

[Breitbart] President Donald Trump has turned down an invitation to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner for the second consecutive year.
Trump announced the news on Friday morning in an interview with the Bernie and Sid radio show in New York City.
"I sort of feel that the press is so bad, it’s so fake, it’s so made up," Trump said, accusing the media of making up sources for their stories. "I call them novelists, they make up the sources, in some cases there are sources, but then they won’t do it correctly either but in many cases, they literally make up sources."
Trump reminded the hosts that the WHCD dinner was a "massive failure" after he skipped it last year for a political rally but he did not rule out a future appearance.
[Breitbart] The Mexican Senate passed a resolution seeking an end to bilateral cooperation with the U.S. against drug cartels and immigration problems after President Trump ordered National Guard troops to the border.
The resolution was passed in a unanimous fashion and sent to the White House, Members of the U.S. Congress, and Mexico’s Foreign Relations Officer, El Universal reported.
"Despite everything that is at stake in the relationship between our two countries, the way in which President Donald Trump has behaved is, for the Mexican people, unacceptable and intolerable," El Universal quoted from the document.
The resolution demands that President Trump respect the people of Mexico, and notes the Senate "condemns the unfounded and offensive expressions about Mexico and Mexicans and the treatment that is needed for a relationship between neighboring countries, partners, and allies."
Other portions of the resolution reject efforts to "militarize the border with Mexico" and considered the measure offensive. In the third portion of the resolution, the Senate calls for Mexico to stop any binational cooperation with the U.S. in dealing with immigration matters and fighting transnational organized crime (cartels) until Trump "acts with civility and respect."

When we got around to making the Apache feel unwelcome on their visits from Mexico in the late 19th Century, they decided to carry out their tourism locally which finally got the response from Mexico City that the Americans had clamored for decades. Leftist former president Luiz Inacio Lula da Silva spent the night holed up inside the headquarters of a steel-workers union on Saturday in a standoff with police ordered to arrest him for corruption. A judge ordered Lula to turn himself in to police on Friday afternoon to start serving a 12-year prison sentence for bribery that will likely end the political career of Brazil's first working class president and his hopes of returning to power.
The union building in an industrial suburb of Sao Paulo where Lula began his career as a labor leader was surrounded late into the night by thousands of supporters and members of his Workers Party wearing red shirts and waving red flags. The crowds dissuaded police trying to arrest him after the deadline set by the judge. The police said they would not act during the night to seize Lula as negotiations proceeded on a suitable way to end the standoff. frog-marched to the hoosegow
A source with knowledge of the talks told Reuters that negotiations between Lula and the police "continue and should reach an agreement on Saturday."
Lula was convicted of taking bribes from an engineering firm in return for help landing government contracts, including a three-floor seaside resort that he denies owning.
His legal team filed a late Friday injunction with the Supreme Court to suspend the prison order, after losing a last-minute plea to the second highest court. The lawyers argued they had not exhausted procedural appeals and painted the case as an effort to remove Lula from the presidential race he is leading.
Under Brazilian electoral law, a candidate is forbidden from running for office for eight years after being found guilty of a crime. Rare exceptions have been made in the past, and the final decision would be made by the top electoral court if and when Lula officially files to be a candidate. The Congressional Black Caucus wouldn't exist
The supporters crowding the streets by the union office cheered defiant speeches calling the case a political witch hunt.

Brooks cited fiscal concerns in defending his position, pointing out that a number of federal agencies have warned of impending insolvency should the federal government continue to spend at current levels.
[Daily Caller] A memorandum signed by President Trump on Friday could be the beginning of the end for America’s longstanding "catch and release" policy at the border.
The memo gives the Department of Homeland Security and other agencies 45 days to detail "all measures that their respective departments have pursued or are pursuing to expeditiously end ’catch and release’ practices," according to The Hill.
In addition to other measures, the departments are also supposed to provide "a detailed list of all existing facilities, including military facilities, that could be used, modified, or repurposed to detain aliens for violations of immigration law at or near the borders of the United States."
Homeland Security Secretary Kirstjen Nielsen and Attorney General Jeff Sessions have also been directed to identify additional means "that may be needed to expeditiously end ’catch and release’ practices."
The practice allowed captured illegal immigrants to be released from custody until their court date. "Catch and release" has been sharply criticized by President Trump and others because many illegals often don’t appear for their court dates.

[Medical Press] As a scientist at IBM's Almaden Research Laboratory, James Hedrick was well aware of the global problem of antibiotic-resistant bacteria, which can turn a minor scrape into a death sentence.
But the threat turned personal after he had routine knee surgery. Sudden excruciating pain signaled infection, demanding emergency hospitalization. Hedrick was lucky: the medications worked, the infection cleared and he went home eight days later.
Hedrick's close call inspired his research team to design a new molecule, called a polymer, that targets five deadly types of drug-resistant microbes and kills them like ninja assassins. Their research, a collaboration with Singapore's Institute of Bioengineering and Nanotechnology, was reported recently in the journal Nature Communications.
If commercialized, the polymer could boost the fight against "superbugs" that can fend off every antibiotic that doctors throw at them. An estimated 700,000 people worldwide die every year from these untreatable infections.

It did not go well for him.
Almost immediately after his hiring was announced, the baying hounds of Leftism wanted blood. So they found a statement from Williamson suggesting that women who get abortions should be hung, as he believes the law should charge abortion as capital murder.
He said it years ago, well before his hiring by The Atlantic's Jeffrey Goldberg. Since his hiring, Williamson went fairly dark on social media. He wasn't saying anything, much less anything controversial. None of that mattered, though.

[Townhall] President Trump's new trade policy is getting criticized by people who usually rush to his defense. Top Republicans are urging the president to reconsider his tariffs on steel and aluminum imports, in part because of how it will impact American farmers. China is coming for them first with their retaliatory action. In response to Trump's tariffs, China hit U.S. agriculture by placing a 25 percent tariff on imports of U.S. soybeans, airplanes and automobiles.
"The United States should take action to defend its interests when any foreign nation isn’t playing by the rules or refuses to police itself," Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-Iowa) said. "But farmers and ranchers shouldn't be expected to bear the brunt of retaliation for the entire country."
"Let's absolutely take on Chinese bad behavior," Sen. Ben Sasse (R-NE) agrees. "But with a plan that punishes them instead of us. This is the dumbest possible way to do this."

[Guardian] The Trump administration announced new sanctions on seven Russian oligarchs and 17 top government officials on Friday, in a move that targets Vladimir Putin’s inner circle for "malign activity" including meddling in the 2016 US election and other aggressions.
The new economic sanctions represent the most forceful action yet taken by the Trump administration against Putin’s circle.
"The Russian government operates for the disproportionate benefit of oligarchs and government elites," said the treasury secretary, Steven Mnuchin. "Russian oligarchs and elites who profit from this corrupt system will no longer be insulated from the consequences of their government’s destabilizing activities."
Mnuchin cited Russian aggression in Crimea and Moscow’s support of the regime of Bashar al-Assad in the bloody civil war in Syria as well as "attempting to subvert western democracies, and malicious cyber activities" as reasons for the sanctions.
Among the targeted Russians are Kirill Shamalov, who has grown massively wealthy since marrying Putin’s daughter in 2013.

Israel’s Mossad intelligence agency chief Yossi Cohen is "100 percent certain" that Iran has not abandoned the idea of possessing a nuclear bomb.
From The Associated Press:
Cohen called the nuclear deal a "terrible mistake," saying it allows Iran to keep key elements of its nuclear program intact and will remove other restraints in a few years.
"Then Iran will be able to enrich enough uranium for an arsenal of nuclear bombs," Cohen said, according to the meeting participant, who spoke on condition of anonymity because he was discussing a classified security matter.
Cohen also criticized the deal’s easing of sanctions, saying it has resulted in "significantly increased" aggression by Iran, and noted Iran’s continued development of long-range ballistic missiles.
"As head of the Mossad, I am 100 percent certain that Iran has never abandoned its military nuclear vision for a single instant. This deal enables Iran to achieve that vision," Cohen said. "That is why I believe the deal must be completely changed or scrapped. The failure to do so would be a grave threat to Israel’s security."

[CNBC] After a century of ferrying millions of daily commuters and taking countless family road trips, simple passenger cars are disappearing from American life, and they may not come back.
Detroit's Big Three automakers ‐ Chrysler, Ford and General Motors ‐ pioneered the mass production of the car, but in just four years, all three may be known to Americans simply as truck and SUV makers, with only a stray sedan for sale.
The automotive industry in America is making what many observers think is an irrevocable shift toward pickup trucks, sport utility vehicles and crossovers. While carmakers are producing sedans and sports cars that are safer, faster and more comfortable than ever, customers continue to flock to taller vehicles with features cars simply cannot offer.
"Since 2009 or 2010 it has been a truck story," said Jeff Schuster, senior vice president of forecasting at LMC Automotive, which tracks the auto industry. The exception was a slight pullback in 2012, when the midsize car segment underwent a major refresh, he said.
The trend shows no sign of abating, despite cries from car enthusiasts that crossovers lack the driving dynamics of sedans and complaints from environmentalists that SUVs and trucks are typically less fuel-efficient than cars.
By 2022, LMC Automotive estimates 84 percent of the vehicles General Motors sells in the U.S. market will be some kind of truck or SUV. Ford's ratio of domestic SUV and truck sales will hit 90 percent; Fiat Chrysler's will notch a whopping 97 percent.
"We have SUVs eventually crossing the 50 percent threshold by themselves in the near future," Schuster said.
Signs suggest SUVs and crossovers are also taking hold elsewhere in the world.
Automotive executives and industry watchers think there will be only a small space for sedans in the U.S., perhaps consisting mostly of sports cars or niche vehicles favored by enthusiasts.
A few factors that drove this unprecedented shift can be attributed to gas prices, a stronger economy and big improvements in the design of sport utility vehicles, said Karl Brauer, executive publisher at Cox Automotive.

The trend to truck and SUV manufacturing started with LBJ's "chicken tax" in the 60's according to the WSJ. Foreign trucks are subject to a steep tariff or excise tax which makes domestic trucks much more competitive. That's why so few foreign trucks are imported. Just know I love my F-150.

[Daily Caller] The Department of Justice says it will allow members of the House and Senate Intelligence Committees to view surveillance warrants granted against former Trump campaign adviser Carter Page in what the agency is calling an "extraordinary accommodation."
DOJ is allowing the access to the four warrant applications in response to demands from California Rep. Devin Nunes, the chairman of the House Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence.
Nunes threatened earlier this week to take legal action if the DOJ did not provide all committee members access to the four Page warrants, which were issued in 2016 and 2017 by judges on the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act (FISA) Court. Nunes also demanded that the FBI hand over an internal document known as an Electronic Communication (EC), which laid out the basis for the bureau’s investigation into possible Trump campaign collusion with the Russian government. (RELATED: House Intel Chairman Threatens Legal Action Against FBI, DOJ Over Russia Records)

However, there are limits. With respect to Nunes’s specific demand for the electronic communication — “EC” in investigative jargon — that officially kicked off the counterintelligence “collusion” investigation, the Department of Justice and the FBI seem to have drawn the line. The demand for the document, let us recall, dates back to one of the committee’s August 2017 subpoenas. In his letter Nunes emphasized that the EC is not highly classified and that the FBI has “not been shy about leaking to the press information that the Department and the Bureau refuse to share with Congress.”
Apparently declining to produce an unredacted copy of the EC to the committee, Assistant Attorney General Stephen Boyd engages in indirection. He beats around the bush, saying the department has sought to act in a “manner consistent with relevant legal precedents“ with respect to certain documents. “To date, that accommodation has occurred through briefings and numerous in camera reviews of classified materials,” the letter states, referring to response to the committee’s “legitimate oversight inquiries.” Now they will go one step beyond with respect to the FISA documents, but Boyd tacitly draws the line at the EC.
When a lawyer refers to “legal precedents,” he is usually talking about case law. I am quite sure that is not how Boyd is using the term. I infer that he means “past practice.”
Here, however, we are dealing with unique circumstances involving an investigation reach

WSJ Excerpt:
One of the least discussed parts of America’s income tax is how progressive it is, and the tax overhaul didn’t change that fact. In 2018, top earners will pay a higher share of income taxes.
The individual income tax matters—a lot—because it is the largest single source of U.S. revenue. And its share has risen in recent years. For 2018, it could raise 50% of total federal revenue, according to estimates from Congress’s Joint Committee on Taxation, up from about 48% last year.
So who pays what share of this tax?
IRS data aren’t available until long after people file, so estimates for 2017 and 2018 come from the Tax Policy Center, a nonpartisan research group.
They divided about 175 million American households into five income tiers of roughly 65 million people each. The income includes earnings from wages and investments plus untaxed amounts, such as from health coverage. These additions nearly double the income of people in the lowest tier and add about 20% for those in the highest tier.

[Pittsburgh.CBSlocal] A new survey has found that a third of young millennials in the U.S. aren't convinced the Earth is actually round. The national poll reveals that 18 to 24-year-olds are the largest group in the country who refuse to accept the scientific facts of the world's shape.
YouGov, a British market research firm, polled 8,215 adults in the United States to find out if they ever believed in the "flat Earth" movement. Only 66 percent of young millennials answered that they "always believe the world is round." Science teachers across the U.S. will be shaking their heads after learning that nine percent of young adults answered that they have "always believed" the planet was flat. Actually the Earth is pear shaped. Seriously. By a few miles.
Another nine percent said of young adults said they thought the planet was spherical but had doubts about it. In a disturbing display of indecision, 16 percent of millennials said they weren't sure what the shape of the planet was.
Overall, only two percent of the respondents said they always thought the Earth was flat without any doubt. YouGov found that age was directly connected to Americans' views on the shape of the world. Seventy-six percent of adults age 25-34 say they've always believed the Earth is round, compared to 82 percent of ages 35-44, 85 percent of ages 45-54, and 94 percent of adults 55 and over.
Income seemed to play a role in people's beliefs as well. Ninety-two percent of adults making over $80,000 believed the Earth is round, compared to only 79 percent of adults making under $40,000. Says a lot about public education. Like it is the biggest waste of taxpayer money.

The meter was defined by the 1790 National Assembly as one ten-millionth of the distance from the North Pole to the equator. So forty million meters (or 40,000 kilometers) would be the circumference of the earth. That’s 24,854.84769 miles for those of you that like to think in miles. Pretty close to today's measurements.

[AlAhram] The U.S. military said on Friday it had killed three snuffies after launching an air strike in Somalia against al-Shabaab ... the Islamic version of the old Somali warlord... , a murderous Moslem Islamist group allied with al Qaeda.
The military's Africa Command (Africom) said they carried out the strike on April 5 near the town of Jilib, about 230 miles (370 km) southwest of Mogadishu.
"In coordination with the Federal Government of Somalia, U.S. Forces conducted an air strike against al-Shabaab snuffies near Jilib ... killing three faceless myrmidons and destroying one vehicle with a mounted heavy machine gun," it said in a statement.
Washington has expanded its operations in the Horn of Africa country after President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... eased combat rules last year.
Since withdrawing from the capital Mogadishu in 2011, al-Shabaab lost control of most of Somalia's cities and towns. But they retain a strong presence in regions outside the capital.
On Friday, one soldier was killed by a murderous Moslem who attacked a checkpoint in Mogadishu. A boom-mobile in the same place injured two other soldiers.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Arab Army (SAA) and Jaish al-Islam ...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. The group claimed responsibility for carrying out the July 2012 Damascus bombing that killed Defense Minister Dawoud Rajiha, Deputy Defense Minister Asef Shawkat, and Assistant Vice President Hassan Turkmani. It was a driving force behind actions in the Damascus region. It cooperated and conducted joint operations with al-Nusra. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... are currently involved in a violent battle for the strategic town of Douma in the northern part of the East Ghouta region.
Led by their Tiger Forces and Elite Republican Guard, the Syrian Arab Army has advanced further into the Douma Orchards, seizing several points that were under the control of Jaish al-Islam for years.
The Syrian Army is now attempting to seize all of the ground under the control of Jaish al-Islam in the Douma Orchards.
While their ground forces advance, the Syrian Arab Air Force (SyAAF) is heavily bombarding Douma in an effort to force Jaish al-Islam back to the negotiations table.
A military source in Damascus told al-Masdar tonight that Jaish al-Islam has sent reinforcements to this front and will likely launch a big counter-assault soon.

[PowerLine] On one hand we have foul-mouthed little twerps like David Hogg. On the other hand, we have Americans like Mark Robinson, who showed up at a Greensboro, N.C. city council meeting to protest against efforts by liberals to take away his constitutional rights. Robinson is remarkably eloquent. He sums up some of the essentials of the gun control debate passionately and well:
At least four senior local leaders of the Taliban group were killed during an operation of the Afghan Intelligence, National Directorate of Security (NDS), operatives in eastern Nangarhar province of Afghanistan.
The provincial government media office in a statement said the militants were killed during an operation in Bati Kot district and as a result five militants were also arrested.
The statement further added that the NDS operatives conducted a Special Operation in Chahar Dehi area of the district, leaving four dead and three others wounded.
According to the governor’s office, the local Taliban leaders killed in the operation have been identified as Tur Dil alias Mullah Tur, Pacha, Mohammad Shafiq alias Sanga, and Muskin.
Another local Taliban leader was also arrested along with three militants during the operation, the statement added.
The militants arrested by the NDS operatives have been identified as Shakirullah alis Qari Shakir, Sangar Kochi, Rahmanullah, Ewaz Khan and Bilal.
According to the provincial government, at least two other suspects were also arrested during another operation in connection to having links with the militants in the same area.
The anti-government armed militant groups including Taliban insurgents have not commented regarding the report so far.
[DailyCaller] Former Trump campaign manager Corey Lewandowski reportedly told the House Intelligence Committee in his latest interview that he was done answering their "fucking questions."
Lewandowski was the final witness in the committee’s probe into Russian interference, and appeared in front of the committee for the second time last month.
During his first interview in March, Lewandowski reportedly refused to answer questions related to things that happened after he left the campaign in June of 2016. His latest appearance seemed to be more of the same, as he reportedly swore at Democrats and told them he would only answer "relevant" questions.
"I’m not answering your fucking question," he apparently shouted at one point.
Lewandowski did not deny he used rough language and blamed Democrats for using expletives first.
"I had to repeat on multiple occasions that there was no collusion, cooperation or coordination because the Democrats couldn’t understand my plain English way of speaking," Lewandowski told CNN. "The language they used in the committee was appalling. I’ve never heard such language used before."

[IsraelTimes] As night falls after second 'March of Return,' with corpse count said at 9, Israel claims Gazoo's rulers cynically sent kids out ahead; PA condemns killing of 'peaceful' protesters.
As night fell on the second successive Friday’s Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood,-backed "March of Return" at the Gazoo border, the Israeli army said it had managed to frustrate what it called the terror group’s "manipulative" efforts to breach the border fence and carry out acts of terrorism under the cover of a public protest.
The Paleostinian Authority meanwhile said it "strongly condemned" the killing of "peaceful" protesters in Gazoo.

[IsraelTimes] Images of thousands of Paleostinians massing near the fence between the Gazoo Strip and Israel, coupled with the news that almost 20 young men of fighting age were killed in the March 30 confrontation between Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and the IDF, looks like a public relations nightmare for the Jewish state.
But as bad as the optics are in the short-term, what is unfolding is a win for Israel. What the riots really tell us is that Hamas’ ability to disrupt Jewish national life every two years or so is being degraded. And that is a very good thing.
Hamas, a group that was previously able to terrorize Israelis with suicide kabooms, kidnappings and rocket attacks, is now reduced to staging riots, setting truck tires on fire and getting its young leaders killed in hopeless confrontations with the IDF to generate sympathetic media coverage. News outlets assist Hamas in its PR war, but the fact is, Israelis are increasingly safe from Hamas attacks ‐ and that’s the story that matters.

The shootings in California just a few days ago point out just how hard the national media is pushing for even more gun control. The Iranian individual who committed the act checks all the wrong boxes: female, foreign born, with radical lifestyle views. We continue to hear from the media, however, that warnings were made regarding the shooter's intentions to the FBI.
Due process has to include at least three elements, allowing a governmental entity to seize firearms before any crime has been committed: 1) there has to be a criminal act, 2) there has to be an object of crime (evidence) and 3) there must be a finding of guilt. Red flag laws fail in those three critical areas. A judicial mandarin passing judgement doesn't mean that due process has been met, not even close.
It should be noted that just because a lawyer writes rules permitting the state to seize property and a legislature passes it, calling it due process doesn't make it due process.
Laws are intended to be custodial in nature, not preventative, As I have stated elsewhere, whenever law is applied to prevent a crime, that is the tool of the tyrant. And a tyrant can be a collective of individuals, especially those who insist a collective right supersedes an individual's right to the Blessings of Liberty
Loads.
Rantburg's summary for arms and ammunition:
Quarterly ammunition price reports are available below.
In the wake of two large mass shootings, the only ammunition class that has showed any signs of radical change from the previous quarter is the 7.62x39mm AK ammunition, a rifle that was not used in either Parkland, Florida, or in Las Vegas.
AR 5.56x45mm ammunition has remained steady in price, even declining in price from the previous year. Whatever factor external to the manufacturing of ammunition exists, AR ammunition prices have not been affected negatively, and this despite threats from democrats to impose background checks on the purchase of ammunition.
Pistol ammunition prices were mostly steady. Rifle ammunition prices were mostly steady.
Prices for used pistols were higher. Prices for used rifles were mixed.

[KUALA LUMPUR (THE STAR/ASIA NEWS NETWORK)] - Members of Parti Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) will not join other component parties in the Pakatan Harapan alliance following its temporary disbandment, says party chairman Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
"They won't join any (parties) because they were our members… But, if we are legal, we will claim they are ours," he told reporters at a press conference in his office at Yayasan al-Bukhary on Friday (April 6).
The former prime minister said Pribumi members would instead contest as independent candidates in the coming polls, under a common logo used by Pakatan Harapan.
"If they say we are illegal, then we can't say we are from Pribumi. But the 52 seats still belong to us - not Pribumi, but the group that was formerly Pribumi," he said.
Pribumi is set to contest 52 seats, followed by PKR (51), DAP (35) and Parti Amanah Negara (27) in the coming polls.
Speculation is rife that component parties under Pakatan will use the PKR logo in the 14th General Election as the Opposition alliance has yet to receive approval from the Registrar of Societies (RoS) to register as a formal coalition.
The decision on a common logo will be announced at an opposition event in Pasir Gudang, Johor on Saturday.
"As Malaysians, Pribumi members have every right to contest in the polls. We can use any logo and we can stand as individuals. As ex-Pribumi members, we are citizens of this country and we have every right to contest in the elections," said Dr Mahathir.
"If there are any parties which allow us to contest under their names, we will do so as independent candidates," he said.
On Thursday, the RoS ordered PPBM to temporarily disband for 30 days as it had failed to fulfil the body's Feb 28 notice requesting for documents and details on the party.
This means that Pribumi will not be allowed to use its logo or conduct any party activities during its disbandment with immediate effect.
Pribumi now has 30 days to fulfil the RoS' request for more documents and file an appeal, failing which the party will be permanently de-registered.
Dr Mahathir also acknowledged Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak's announcement that Parliament will dissolve on Saturday.
The exact nomination and polling dates will be decided by the Election Commission and announced later.
The general election must be held within 60 days of Parliament's dissolution.
TAIZ, April 6 (Saba) - The heroes of the army and popular committees on Friday carried out a military operation on the sites of Saudi-paid mercenaries in the area of Abar in Taiz province, a military official told Saba.
The military operation resulted in defeating the mercenaries in the number of the locations in Abar area, said the official.
Furthermore, many of the aggression casualties over the unique military operation.
[Townhall] Planning for a show-down, a column of 1,500 Central Americans, largely from Honduras, has been beating a path to the Mexican-American border.
Some report that the column has been halted; others dispute that. Interviewed by Reuters in Mexico, a sojourning mother of seven‐what are the chances none is an MS13 gangster?‐signaled her intention to proceed to the US, if only to teach President Trump a lesson.
Yes, "Make America Great Again" to you, too, Colindres Ortega.
Organizers and participants in this farce aim, very plainly, to publicly demonstrate that the US doesn’t have borders. Led by anti-American agitators, the procession catalyzed the urgency of action to stop an ongoing invasion.
Whether it arrives or not, the caravan is a positive bit of theatre. For one thing, the actors are quite correct. The US doesn’t have borders. For another, the caravan vividly exposes the antagonists in this ongoing tragedy: our overlords in DC. All of them.
To narrow the indictment a tad, note the extent to which the Democrats and their news media have avoided mentioning or covering the caravan. At a time when Democrats are fielding populists like Conor Lamb (who won in Pennsylvania) and former rodeo champion Billie Sutton (he hopes to govern South Dakota)‐the mess on the border damns them like nothing else.
It’s these villains who’ve agreed to laws that permit anyone to arrive at that border, do their Les Misérables act, claim to face a "credible fear" back home, get a court date, and bolt like so many rabbits, to be seen again only at the voting booth, the welfare office, the DMV and at DACA demonstrations. They’re the malcontents holding up signs that read "America is racist."

[IsraelTimes] Delegation from Cairo stepping up pressure to implement reconciliation agreement between Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, and its West Bank rival, Fatah
[DAWN] The Lahore High Court on Thursday restrained the government from extending harassment to the social welfare organizations of Hafiz Muhammad Saeed and also allowed lawful activities of Jamatud Dawa (JuD) and Falah-e-Insaniat Foundation (FIF).
Justice Aminuddin Khan was hearing a petition moved by Hafiz Saeed ...founder of Lashkar-e-Taiba and its false-mustache offshoot Jamaat-ud-Dawa. The United Nations declared the JuD a terrorist organization in 2008 and Hafiz Saeed a terrorist as its leader. Hafiz, JuD and LeT are wholly-owned subsidiaries of the Pak intel apparatus, so that amounted to squat... challenging a notification of ministry of interior with regard to freezing bank accounts and taking over assets associated with both organizations- JuD and FIF‐under the Anti-Terrorism (amendment) Ordinance 2018.
The petitioner’s counsel, A.K Dogar, said the government of Pakistain acted against these organizations under the pressure of foreign powers, including United Nations ...an organization originally established to war on dictatorships which was promptly infiltrated by dictatorships and is now held in thrall to dictatorships... and India. He contended that Pakistain was a sovereign independent state and made its own laws to govern its citizens. He said if there was a conflict between the laws of the land and any provision of United Nations Security Council Act, 1948, the law of the land shall prevail, he added.
He pointed out that the FIF owned 369 ambulances, had helped 72,000 persons through its charity hospitals and treated 600,000 patients only in 2017. He said the JuD dug out 2,000 wells for supplying water in Tharparkar, Balochistan...the Pak province bordering Kandahar and Uruzgun provinces in Afghanistan and Sistan Baluchistan in Iran. Its native Baloch propulation is being displaced by Pashtuns and Punjabis and they aren't happy about it... and Baltistan.
The counsel asked the court to declare the impugned notification of the interior ministry null and void with regard to taking over the assets of the organizations.
The judge restrained the government from harassing the petitioner’s organizations and sought reply from the interior ministry by April 23.

According to the group’s statement, their fighters targeted the U.S. military base at the French Lavarage Cement Factory that is located in the northern part of the al-Raqqa Governorate.
The group then claimed that they targeted the base with surface-to-surface missiles, while vowing to continue their attacks against the U.S. Coalition until they leave Syria.

“Senior Pentagon Russia Analyst LTC David Jewberg”
What an ...evocative name, to be sure.
maintained a popular Facebook page and was frequently quoted in Ukrainian and Russian media as a Pentagon insider related to topics concerning Ukraine and Russia. He represented himself as an actual person with the legal name “David Jewberg,” not as a persona or pseudonym.
A number of well-known Russian opposition figures frequently cited David Jewberg as a respected analyst and real-life contact.
David Jewberg is actually an imagined persona connected to a group of individuals inside the U.S. revolving around well-connected American financier Dan K. Rapoport, who was named as the person who wrote under this persona by well-known Russia expert David Satter and other sources in Washington who spoke to Bellingcat. A number of personal friends and professional connections connected to Rapoport helped to prop up this fake persona; for example, photographs from Rapoport’s college friend were used to represent Jewberg and a number of Washington-area friends of Rapoport wrote about Jewberg as if he were a real person.
Dan K. Rapoport is the former owner of the house rented to Ivanka Trump in January 2017. He worked as a financial executive in Russia in the 2000’s, after which he reportedly became active in supporting Russian opposition figures. He moved to Kyiv in late 2016 and most recent reports indicate that he works as a financial executive in Ukraine.
Per legal experts consulted during this investigation, the person(s) who maintained the “David Jewberg” persona created false identification documents, impersonating a federal official with a Pentagon identification card.
The U.S. Department of Defense and State Department have disavowed the existence of David Jewberg, stating that they have never employed a person by this name.
Rapoport has repeatedly denied being the author behind David Jewberg and not acknowledged that “Jewberg” is an imagined persona.
SECTION ONE: Who is David Jewberg?
More interesting Who is Dan K. Rapoport? Wikipedia on him is a wild tale. Russia, Ukraine, Oil, Stocks, SEC, Romney Advisor and on and on.
Career in the United States
In June 2012, Rapoport returned to the US. It was reported that he left Russia in large part due to his support for Russia's democratic opposition, particularly his support for Alexei Navalny, an outspoken yet tacitly tolerated campaigner against Russian corporate and government corruption and the most vocal critic of Putin's regime. It was also reported that as a consequence of his support for opposition figures the Russian authorities concluded that Rapoport posed a threat to the Putin regime. However, he keeps some investment interests in Russia, making these reports about his conflict with Kremlin dubious.
Until 2016, Rapoport resided in Washington, DC, and managed Rapoport Capital LLP. In October 2016, he relocated to Kiev, Ukraine, after Rapoport Capital received a mandate from a US private equity group to invest more than $100 million in Ukraine.
Rapoport is currently a partner in the Moscow bar/restaurant/club, Soho Rooms, and Rush Pictures Production (formerly RAMCO, which co-produced Captivity (2007), and You and I (2011). He is also a Board Member of Share Care, (Благотворительный Фонд Поделись Теплом),a Moscow-based charity that provides assistance to orphans and sick children, and a 32nd Degree Freemason.

During the 2012 US Presidential election, Rapoport advised the Mitt Romney for President Campaign on Russia-related issues. Rapoport's views were best voiced by Romney during the October 22, 2012, televised debate with Barack Obama: "I’m not going to wear rose-colored glasses when it comes to Russia or Mr. Putin."
In 2015 - 2016, he served as a foreign policy adviser to the Jeb Bush 2016 Presidential Campaign.
In January 2017, the New York Times reported that Rapoport recently sold his Washington, DC home, which will further serve as the residence of Ivanka Trump and family.
Ivanka should have the Secret Service and the DIA sweep that home before living in it.

At least two Afghan National Army (ANA) force members were killed and three others wounded after a group of Taliban militants attacked their outpost in Sar-e-Pul province, an army official said.
The wounded soldiers were taken to a military facility and they are in good health condition, said Mohammad Hanif Rezaee, a spokesman for Shaheen 209 Military Corps in Balkh province.
Meanwhile, he said that 14 Taliban militants were killed in the Air Force airstrikes in Sheram village in Sar-e-Pul province.
Reports indicate that Taliban has taken few military vehicles with them following the attack. However, Rezaee rejected such reports.
He said Taliban has escaped from the area following the clashes.
[AlAhram] The mood in the office of Paleostinian President the ineffectual Mahmoud Abbas ... a graduate of the prestigious unaccredited Patrice Lumumba University in Moscow with a doctorate in Holocaust Denial... is sombre. This old, frail and depressed Paleostinian leader, according to a former Paleostinian official, has been seeing things coming to an end, including the Paleostinian cause as it has been not just from the 1940s to the 1980s, but also since the Madrid Peace Conference in the early 1990s and until the election of current US President Donald Trump ...New York real estate developer, described by Dems as illiterate, racist, misogynistic, and what ever other unpleasant descriptions they can think of, elected by the rest of us as 45th President of the United States... The leader of the Paleostinian Authority (PA), according to visitors, knows that he has been weakened by Paleostinian differences, the confused regional situation, and the international obsession with the issues of terror and migration.

NAJRAN, April 6 (Saba) - The missile force of the army and popular committees fired a ballistic missile of the type Bader-1 on Qwat al- Wageb camp in Najran, a military official told Saba on Friday.
The missile hit its target, leaving losses in the enemy ranks and its military equipment, said the official.
[AnNahar] Desperate to find out if they can ever return home, Syrians exiled by their country's uprising-turned-war are scouring a leaked database of people reportedly wanted by the intelligence services.
Typing in first, last and father's names into the online list, Syrians abroad hold their breath to learn if a long-awaited visit to Damascus would land them in government prison or potentially far worse.
HAJIN, India: Police say anti-India militants have stormed two homes in the past few days in one Kashmiri town, dragging away two men and killing both of them. One was shot. The other was beheaded.
While killings by government forces regularly trigger bloody protests against Indian rule, the silence in Hajjin over the men’s deaths reflect the complicated reactions, tangled in fear and loyalty, when villagers accused of being informers are targeted by militants.
Many militants come from places like Hajjin, and most Kashmiris support, at least generally, the rebels’ goals.
No one in Hajjin would speak openly about what happened to the men, fearing reprisals from both sides in Kashmir’s decades-old fight. But neighbors say both had been warned earlier by militants to stop working with government soldiers.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The Syrian Shiite militia, Liwaa al-Baqir, announced through their official Facebook page on Friday that they will be starting a military operation in eastern Syria.
The Iranian-supplied militia stated that this operation will concentrate on eastern Syria, with a strong emphasis on the US-controlled areas in the Deir Ezzor Governorate.
Recently, Liwaa al-Baqir received new military supplies from Iran, which will likely be used to cross the Euphrates River to fight the US-backed Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) in eastern Deir Ezzor.
Liwaa al-Baqir is considered one of the most powerful groups in the Aleppo Governorate, boasting thousands of members from the predominately Shiite towns of al-Zahra’a and Nubl.

[ALMASDARNEWS] The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... on Thursday urged La Belle France not to "make the same mistake" as the US by sending troops to the Syrian town of Manbij, which Ankara has threatened to attack to dislodge Kurdish militia.
President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey... has said Turkey would expand its offensive against the Kurdish People’s Protection Units (YPG) militia to the town in north Syria.
Turkey’s Yeni Safak daily said that La Belle France had deployed 50 soldiers to Manbij to support the YPG.
Anadolu news agency reported that 100 French special forces were deployed at five bases in YPG-controlled areas of Syria.
According to Erdogan’s front man Ibrahim Kalin, officials were looking into the reports and Turkey will inform Gay Paree of its opposition "if this is found to be true," AFP reported.

[DAWN] Pakistain has not, and does not intend to, discuss the resumption of suspended security aid with the United States, Ambassador Aizaz Ahmed Chaudhary said on Friday while briefing the US and Pak media.
The briefing, although intended to highlight Indian atrocities in held Kashmire, drifted to US-Pakistain ties and the Afghan dispute.
"From our side, we have not discussed this issue with the US administration at all," said the envoy. "Pakistain does not want aid. It wants honour, dignity, respect and a recognition of what it has done, although we do recognise the suspension undermines our efforts to fight terrorism."

[BBC] A Canadian fertility doctor is being sued by dozens of people who claim he used his own or unknown sperm to impregnate their mothers.
In November Dr Norman Barwin was sued after a DNA test said he was the father a former patient's daughter. If not for Dr. Norm, where the fok would they all be ?
At least 11 others now claim he is their biological father, lawyers say.
The group filed a class-action lawsuit with about 50 offspring of former patients whose DNA does not match their intended biological father.
The claims go as far back as the 1970s, and include patients from at least two fertility clinics in Ottawa, Ontario - Broadview Fertility Clinic and Ottawa General Hospital.
Dr Barwin's lawyer Karen Hamway declined to comment on the recent allegations.
Lawyers Peter Cronyn and Frances Shapiro Munn say they have found 11 people whose parents went to Dr Barwin for fertility treatment who are allegedly his biological children, according to DNA tests. In some cases, they were supposed to be conceived with an anonymous donor, in others with their mother's spouse.
[DAWN] South Korea's presidential palace was Park Geun-hye's home for more than two decades: once when her father was president and later when she herself led the country.
Now, humiliated and vilified, she faces spending the next 24 years of her life in prison after being convicted of corruption ‐ a spectacular fall from grace unimaginable six years ago when she became South Korea's first female president amid great fanfare.
Park, 66, grew up in the spotlight at the Blue House, the presidential compound just north of one of Seoul's royal palaces, and enjoyed a pampered life as the eldest child of strongman Park Chung-hee.
Her father, despite widespread rights abuses and a brutal crackdown on dissent, remains a respected figure for many South Koreans for overseeing the country's dramatic economic rise during his 1961-79 rule.
The Park family was treated like royalty by supporters and she was dubbed the young "princess" ‐ a nickname that endured for decades even as she aged.
The liquidation of both her parents five years apart in the 1970s only further fanned public sympathy for the young protege.
Park's mother ‐ widely praised as a dutiful wife and caring mother in the still-traditional society of the day ‐ was rubbed out in 1974 by a Korean-Japanese aiming for her husband. He is believed to have been acting on orders from North Korea.

[ALMASDARNEWS] Shortly after a delegation of Syrian Kurdish militia was received by the Elysee, Ottoman Turkish media released detailed information about alleged French Special Forces positions in northern Syria. The move prompted Gay Paree to ask whether the revelations endangered French troops fighting ISIS and Ankara to accuse the French of supporting "terrorists."
Speaking to Sputnik La Belle France, retired Brigadier General Dominique Trinquand, the defense counsel to President Emmanuel Macron during last year’s presidential campaign, said that the Ottoman Turkish media’s decision to publish the sensitive information was simply "unacceptable for a country that’s supposed to be fighting the same ISIS [ISIS*] enemy."
It’s worth keeping in mind, according to the officer, that the Kurds were among the first to join the fight against ISIS in Syria, "while The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...just another cheapjack Moslem dictatorship, brought to you by the Moslem Brüderbund.... entered this fight quite late."
"There was nothing surprising" in the Ottoman Turkish media’s decision, Trinquand said, because "in domestic politics, President Erdogan is a supporter of the Moslem Brüderbund, and the Moslem Brüderbund has been hostile to the Kurds, and from the very start, to Hereditary President-for-Life Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad The Scourge of Hama... and indeed to La Belle France."
As far as the purpose of La Belle France’s military mission in Syria is concerned, the senior officer said that although "President Macron clearly declared his support for the Kurds in general, new operations were not planned. In any case, the units operating there are special forces, and their positions and actions are never disclosed," he added.
In an official statement released to the press following his meeting with representatives from the Syrian Democratic Forces late last month, President Macron guaranteed the militia French support in stabilizing the security zone in northeastern Syria. Shortly thereafter, the state-run Anadolu news agency released details about five bases across Syria where it said French troops were based.

[Rudaw] ERBIL, Kurdistan Region ‐ As The Sick Man of Europe Turkey ...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire.... ’s ground operations against the PKK continue in the northern areas of the Kurdistan Region, Ottoman Turkish troops have intensified their bombardments and artillery shells, stationing soldiers on top of eight mountains in the past day.
The mountains are located in Sidakan, in northern Erbil province, overlooking Barazgir and Dooramolk plains. With the capture of these mountain peaks, Turkey has now entered 20 kilometers deep into the Kurdistan Region.
Faris Rasul, the chieftain of the Shapan village in Sidakan, told Rudaw that from last night until 2 p.m. on Friday, Turkey constantly bombed the area and later deployed soldiers atop the peaks of Mounts Shapan, Dilan, Kawet, Bane, Chiasor, Alakan and Chiyanaya.
Ottoman Turkish troops are a hill away from Democratic Party of Iranian Kurdistan (PDKI) forces in Sidakan, a Rudaw correspondent reported on Friday night.
There is no history of PDKI clashing with the Ottoman Turkish military, but several other armed Kurdish political groups from Iran who are opposed to the Islamic Theocratic Republic are also in the area.
Sidakan is 90 kilometers northeast of Erbil city and in Soran district.
Ottoman Turkish army began a ground offensive against alleged PKK positions in the Kurdistan Region on March 10. By the end of the month they had pushed 10 kilometers across the international border.
According to information Rudaw has obtained, the Ottoman Turkish troops have been making roads to the peaks of the mountains as it stations its forces.
The continued Ottoman Turkish attacks have forced a large number of villagers to flee their houses.
Ihsan Chalabi, Sidakan town mayor also told Rudaw "over the past 24 hours, the Ottoman Turkish army has advanced 6 kilometers into the Kurdistan Region territories."
"Advances are ongoing on a daily basis," he added.
Both the PKK and the Ottoman Turkish army have claimed they have killed the other’s forces, but they aren’t self-reporting their own casualties.
Turkey regularly bombs border areas in the Kurdistan Region, where the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has its headquarters in Qandil.
Ankara accelerated its operations in March, spreading into other areas along the border. They have threatened to go to the Yezidi homeland Shingal, if Baghdad does not remove the foreign presence.
"We do not ask for permission from anyone, nor do we look into anyone’s eyes for all this," said Ottoman Turkish President Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First ... Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey... said on Sunday.
"You may hear new goals at any moment," he added.
KRG Prime Minister Nechirvan Barzani was asked about Turkey’s violations of the Kurdistan Region.
"As the Kurdistan Region, we have a principle. Our principle is that the territories of the Kurdistan Region must in no way be used to attack, to cause violence against our neighbors. This policy as a principle stands the same for Turkey, Iran or Syria," Barzani said.
"We do not accept, nor do we allow the Kurdistan Region of Iraq to be used to cause violence in those countries."
The Kurdish premier said his government has tried on many occasions to convince the PKK to stop attacking Turkey from within the Kurdistan Region, but that such efforts "unfortunately" failed.
"It is not acceptable for the PKK to launch military operations from the territories of Kurdistan, and then return to the Kurdistan Region," he said.
The Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) has fought sometimes armed struggle against the Ottoman Turkish state off and on for nearly 40 years. They seek greater political, cultural, and minority rights for the people of Turkey.

[DAWN] Students protesting Indian rule in Indian Kashmire clashed with government forces on Thursday after authorities reopened schools following the recent killing of Kashmiris.
Indian forces fired tear-gas to stop students from marching at several colleges in Srinagar. The students chanted anti-India slogans and marched on the streets while demanding an end to Indian rule in the region.
Clashes also erupted in other parts of India-held Kashmire as students hurled rocks at police and paramilitary soldiers. They also burned a police bunker in Srinagar.
Some students were reportedly injured in the festivities.
The students were protesting the killing 17 Kashmiris at the hands of Indian troops on Sunday. At least three Indian soldiers were also killed in the violence, which was followed by a security clampdown and a strike called by Hurriyat leaders.

[DAWN] As the sit-in called by the Tehrik-e-Labbaik Pakistain (TLP) to press for the implementation of the Faizabad agreement entered its fifth day on Friday, the party announced that while it would not spread the scope of its protest to other cities until the next week when the government would have met its demands, it would continue its sit-in in Lahore.
Addressing a presser on Friday evening after, what the TLP leadership called was a breakdown of talks with the provincial government, its leaders said that they would not issue protest calls to other cities because the government had sought a week’s time.
"If the 11-point Faizaabad agreement, which includes provisions like the release of incarcerated Drop the rosco, Muggsy, or you're one with the ages! workers and withdrawal of cases against them, is not implemented the entire country will be on the roads next Friday. The TLP will wait till 4pm next Thursday before announcing the next phase of its protest," Pir Afzal Qadri, chairperson of the TLP, told journalists.
Joined by TLP leader Khadim Hussain Rizvi, Mr Qadri said the Punjab 1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard

3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots.... government had agreed to present provincial Law Minister Rana Sanaullah before a seven-member committee of Learned Elders of Islam, who would quiz him over his controversial interview and issue a religious edict (fatwa), which the law minister and the provincial government would have to accept.
Mr Qadri also said that the issue was about the finality of the Prophethood; it was nothing personal. The police had registered cases against the workers and leadership of the TLP because of the protest they had held for the cause.
"Otherwise, all TLP members, including emir Khadim Hussain Rizvi, are law-abiding citizens," he said.
Speaking to Dawn, Mr Sanaullah said the Faizabad agreement had been drawn up between the federal government and the TLP, with a third party acting as guarantor. The Punjab government was trying to facilitate the federal government and the TLP to reach an amicable solution, he said, adding that the federal police had registered cases against the TLP workers and their leaders so the Punjab police could not help with that.

[IsraelTimes] For second week, Washington the lone member of 15-member Security Council to reject statement condemning Israeli response to 'March for Return' violence.
But of course they’ll keep trying, if only to keep the masses at home quiet.
[DAWN] Israeli troops killed seven men on Friday in the second mass protest in as many weeks along Gazoo's volatile border, as Paleostinians torched piles of tires to create a smoke screen to block the view of snipers.
Friday's deaths brought to 29 the number of Paleostinians killed by Israeli fire over the past week, including 23 protesters.
Gazoo's Health Ministry said 1,070 people were maimed on Friday, including 293 by live fire. It said 25 of those maimed were at death's door. Among those hurt were 12 women and 48 minors, the ministry added.
Israel's army has faced criticism over its use of live fire, but it has warned open-fire rules will remain unchanged to stop damage to the border fence, infiltrations and attacks.
On Friday, Israel's military said in a statement that "approximately 10,000 Paleostinians have been rioting in five locations along the border with the Gazoo Strip".
It added that "several attempts have been made to damage and cross the security fence under the cover of the smokescreen created by the burning tires that the rioters ignited".

As the conflict in Syria continues to evolve, the U.S. government is re-examining what its future presence in the country might look like and for how long. In the meantime, American troops there are settling into increasingly more established forward outposts with improved defenses, including the futuristic-looking Advanced Mortar Protection System, or AMPS.
Earlier in April 2018, Kurdish media reported that U.S.-backed Syrian Democratic Forces, a group also known as the SDF that predominantly consists of Kurds, had established two new operating sites near the strategic city of Manbij in northern Syria. Subsequent images and video showed that American special operations forces were also present and had brought mine-resistant trucks, Humvees, and other vehicles with them, as well as heavy weapons, including .50 caliber machine guns, automatic 40mm grenade launchers, and the AMPS.
In Syria, where battle lines and the allegiances of certain groups can change rapidly, having the mortars in place gives American troops and their partners significant firepower in the event that they come under attack. It’s no surprise that the forces in Manbij, who are now concerned about a new Turkish-backed intervention, have decided to move the weapons into place to help guard their positions.
Local officials in Logar province claimed that at least 30 schools were closed by the Taliban in Charkh district in reaction to a government forces’ operation against the militant group in the area.
Up to 12,000 students, including 2,500 girls, were deprived of education after closer of the schools, Salim Saleh, spokesman for Logar governor, said Friday.
He added that the Taliban closed the schools in Charkh district after some of their members were killed and wounded in a night raid by government forces this week.
“Armed oppositions have closed 30 schools, including 10 high schools, in Charkh (district) after one of their commanders was killed in a night raid by government forces,” he said.
He said government is in contact with tribal elders and religious scholars in the district and that the schools will be reopened in the coming week.
Head of Logar Provincial Council, Hasibullah Stanekzai, said Taliban has warned Charkh elders to avoid meeting government officials for reopening the schools.
“The 01 Unit (of government forces) conducted an operation last night in which a Taliban commander was killed, a mosque and some houses were damaged,” Stanikzai said.
He said Taliban has ordered their members to close the schools in reaction to the operation.
“Thousands of students were deprived of education after closure of the schools. We call on the central government to reopen the schools as soon as possible,” said Matiullah Sroor, a civil society activist in Logar.
The provincial education department meanwhile said efforts are underway to reopen the schools with the help of locals.
“The number of closed schools in Charkh (district) is 30 schools. At least 12,000 students have been deprived of education following the closure of the schools, and meanwhile, 300 education officials have remained at home,” Shahpoor Arab, a spokesman for Logar Education Directorate said.
Meanwhile, a Taliban spokesman has said that the group closed the schools at least four days ago when a schoolteacher was killed in a night raid by government forces.
The spokesman said the group is trying to overcome the problem.
MEDI, April 6 (Saba) - The heroes of the army and popular committees repulsed a wide infiltration attempt of the aggression forces in Medi front line and inflicted them dozens of casualties, a military official told Saba on Thursday.
The army and popular committees broke a wide infiltration attempt of the aggression forces toward the farms and stores in Medi front line, said the official.
Dozens of Sudanese and mercenaries were killed and injured, destroyed four vehicles for the invaders and destroyed the fifth one during repulsing the infiltration.
Meanwhile, the aggression warplane launched 15 airstrikes to support the infiltration on Medi without making any progress.
[ALMASDARNEWS] The political official of Jaish al-Islam ...Liwa al-Islam (Brigade of Islam) was established by Zahran Alloush, the son of Saudi-based religious scholar Abdullah Mohammed Alloush, after Syrian authorities released him from prison in mid-2011 where he had been serving time for his Salafist activism. In Sptember 2013 Saudi Arabia engineered Liwa al-Islam's merger with fifty other more or less Salafist groups as a counterweight to al-Nusra, which the Learned Elders of Islam considered was growing too powereful... told al-Hadath TV on Friday that his organization is not looking to close the door on peace negotiations in the East Ghouta town of Douma.
"We don’t want to close the door that can lead to sparing the blood of civilians and reaching a peaceful situation," Alloush stated, as quoted by Rooters.
Alloush added that his organization was not behind the attack on Damascus that killed at least one civilian and maimed 16 others.
On Friday, the Syrian Arab Army launched a powerful ground and air assault on Douma, seizing several points near the town’s orchards.
