[IsraelTimes] The Saudi Al-Arabiya channel reports that as part of negotiations for a hostage release deal and a ceasefire, Egypt is demanding a “full file” from Hamas regarding the condition of the hostages in Gaza by early May.
The report doesn’t specify what such a file will include.
The channel also reports that the mediators are considering the possibility of a short-term ceasefire, but Israel is refusing and insisting on the disarmament of Hamas.
The Hamas delegation in Cairo, which arrived in Egypt on Saturday morning and included all five senior officials who currently make up the organization’s leadership council, left Cairo last night after less than 24 hours in the country.
[IsraelTimes] One of the most widespread and complex cyber attacks against Iran’s infrastructure was repelled yesterday, the semi-official Tasnim news agency quotes the head of Iran’s Infrastructure Communications Company as saying.
“One of the most widespread and complex cyber attacks against the country’s infrastructure was identified and preventive measures were taken,” Behzad Akbari says according to semi-official Tasnim news agency, without giving more detail.
In recent years, Iran has seen a series of cyberattacks on critical infrastructure, including its ports. Surveillance cameras in government buildings, including prisons, have also been hacked in the past.
The country disconnected much of its government infrastructure from the internet after the Stuxnet computer virus — widely believed to be a joint US-Israeli creation — disrupted thousands of Iranian centrifuges in the country’s nuclear sites in the late 2000s.

I swear that Stuxnet led to an attack on a service center in the Sudan. However, the only thing I can find is: "Security vendor Kaspersky Lab has identified infections with the new Duqu malware in Sudan and, more importantly, Iran, the main target of the Trojan’s predecessor — Stuxnet.
Duqu took the security industry by storm last week when the Hungarian research laboratory Crysys shared its analysis of the new threat with the world’s top antivirus vendors. Believed to be closely related to the Stuxnet industrial sabotage worm, from which it borrows code and functionality, Duqu is a flexible malware delivery framework used for data exfiltration.

[IsraelTimes] The Hamas-controlled Gaza civil defense agency says Israeli strikes killed at least eight people, including a 17-year-old who died in an attack on a southern town.
The figures cannot be independently verified and do not differentiate between civilians and combatants.
Civil defense spokesman Mahmud Bassal tells AFP that “at least eight people have been killed and dozens injured in Israeli airstrikes since dawn.”
Bassal says three people were killed when a group of civilians was struck in Gaza City’s Zeitun neighborhood, and three more in a strike that hit a residential building in the central Bureij refugee camp.
Two people died in the southern Khan Younis area, Bassal says, including a 17-year-old boy in a strike on the town of Khuzaa, and another person killed when Israeli forces hit fishing boats off the coast.
In a separate incident near Khan Younis, a strike wounded at least 12 people, most of them children, in Al-Mawasi, the civil defense spokesman adds.
Israel has said it seeks to minimize civilian fatalities and stresses that Hamas uses Gaza’s civilians as human shields, fighting from civilian areas including homes, hospitals, schools, and mosques.
[IsraelTimes] Saudi Arabia ...a kingdom taking up the bulk of the Arabian peninsula, largely made up of sand and oil rigs. Its primary economic activity involves exporting oil and soaking Islamic rubes on the annual haj pilgrimage. The country supports a large number of princes in whatcha might call princely splendor. Formerly dictatorial and steeped in Olde Tyme Religion, deferring to Salafist holy men on all issues, it has now done a 180 and is making a serious effort to modernize, so as not to be left in the sand by its Gulf Arab neighbors. The holy men have been shoved to the background and the nation is now still dictatorial but somewhat rational. That doesn't make them trustworthy, but it's a start... and Qatar ...an emirate on the east coast of the Arabian Peninsula. In recent weeks, sporadic demonstrations have taken place in Beit Lahiya against Hamas and in favor of ending the war.
[IsraelTimes] France will increase security measures around mosques after the brutal stabbing to death of a Muslim worshiper inside a mosque in the south of the country, the interior minister says.
Speaking to broadcaster BFMTV, Bruno Retailleau says that he had sent a telegram to the country’s prefects “for all the mosques in France to be better protected than they are.”
This was the Khadija mosque in La Grand-Combe, Gard department, southern France, where on April 25th worshipper Aboubakar was murdered. MSN gives the rest of the story:
A man suspected of killing a Muslim worshiper in a mosque in the south of France was still on the run Sunday, authorities said, in an attack described by Prime Minister Francois Bayrou as Islamophobic.
The attacker and the victim were alone in the mosque in the former mining town of La Grand Combe on Friday when the stabbing occurred. The assailant recorded the attack on his phone, and security camera video showed him shouting insults at Allah, local media said.
Bayrou denounced the attack an act of “Islamophobic ignominy displayed on video.”
“We stand shoulder to shoulder with the victim’s family and the shocked worshipers,” he said. “The resources of the state are being mobilized to ensure that the murderer is caught and punished.”
Local prosecutor Abdelkrim Grini said Sunday that investigators are taking into account “the possibility that this was an Islamophobic act. It’s the one we’re working on first, but it’s not the only one,” he said.
“Racism and hatred based on religion will never have a place in France,” French President Emmanuel Macron said. “Religious freedom is inviolable.”
Grini said images of the stabbing he has viewed were “horrifying.” He said police were working nonstop to find the suspect, with 70 investigators deployed.
“We’re being particularly vigilant to make sure he doesn’t claim any more victims,” Grini said. The suspect was born in France in 2004, lived in the area and did not have a criminal record, Grini said.
The Grand Mosque of Paris condemned the attack in a statement and said the victim, a young man identified only as Aboubakar in French media, had just finished cleaning the mosque when he was killed.
It called on authorities to quickly shed light on the motive behind the attack, asking judicial authorities to say whether it is being treated as a terrorist act and to note its “scale and seriousness ... for the safety of all."
Justice Minister Gerald Darmanin called the stabbing a “despicable murder” that “wounds the hearts of all believers, of all Muslims in France.”
The SOS Racisme campaign group joined the calls for more clarity in the investigation and took part in a march organized later Sunday at La Grand Combe in support of the victim. Interior Minister Bruno Retailleau traveled to the nearby town of Ales to meet with local Muslim faith officials and pledged to stop the attacker.
"Of course, the possibility of an anti-Muslim act is not at all neglected; quite the contrary," he said. “It is out of the question to tolerate this kind of act in this hyper-violent society.”
In Paris, a rally against Islamophobia and in tribute to the victim was held at the Place de la République.
[IsraelTimes] A nuclear deal with Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Formerly a fairly civilized nation ruled by a Shah, it became a victim of Islamic revolution in 1979. The nation is today noted for spontaneously taking over other countries' embassies, maintaining whorehouses run by clergymen, involvement in international drug trafficking, and financing sock puppet militias to extend the regime's influence. The word Iran is a cognate form of Aryan. The abbreviation IRGC is the same idea as Stürmabteilung (or SA). The term Supreme Guide is a the modern version form of either Duce or Führer or maybe both. They hate JewsZionists Jews. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... must remove its ability to enrich uranium, says Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu at the Jewish News Syndicate policy conference in Jerusalem, as the US engages in direct nuclear talks with Tehran.
"A real deal that works is one that removes Iran’s capacity to enrich uranium for nuclear weapons," he says.
US Secretary of State Marco Rubio ...The diminutive 13-year-old Republican U.S. Senator from Florida, Secretary of State in the second Trump administration... said last week that Washington seeks a deal that would prevent Iran from enriching any uranium, while his Iranian counterpart Abbas Araghchi called the issue of enrichment "non-negotiable."
"Dismantle all the infrastructure of Iran’s nuclear program," says Netanyahu. "That is a deal we can live with."
If the two sides agree on more lenient deal, says Netanyahu, Iran will simply run out the clock and wait for the end of Donald Trump ...They hit him with slander, they impeached him twice. Nancy Pelosi tore up his State of the Union address on national TV. They stole an election and put his adherents in jail. They vilified him. They couldn't crucify him, so they shot him. Still, they can't keep him down... ’s term.
He also says that Iran’s ballistic missile production must be part of the talks as well.
"The question of defense capacities and the country’s missiles is not [on the agenda] and has not been raised in the indirect talks," Iran’s Foreign Ministry front man said after the latest round of talks on Saturday.
Netanyahu says he has stressed this position to Trump, and that he is in close contact with the US.
"A bad deal is worse than no deal," he argues, repeating his position that the "only good deal" would be one modeled on the deal that Libya agreed to in 2003.
The prime minister claims that Israeli covert action over the years has set Iran’s nuclear program back a decade.
Turning to the war in Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with a rusty iron fist by Hamas with about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... , Netanyahu says that at the end of the fighting, "Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... will not be there. And were not going to put the Paleostinian Authority there."
"Why replace one regime that is sworn to our destruction with another regime that is sworn to our destruction?" he asks.
Expanding on his position that the PA is no better than Hamas, Netanyahu argues that "Hamas says we will destroy Israel by terror and military conquest right away, and the PA says, ’No, you destroy it politically and driving it through propaganda and lawfare to the ’67 boundaries, and then you can do the military thrust because you’re a few kilometers from the sea.'"
The idea of creating a Paleostinian state to foster peace is "folly," he says.
Netanyahu indicates that he did not trust the Biden administration with Israeli military secrets.
He says he refused to tell Washington ahead of the September 2024 beeper operation against Hezbollah: "I don’t read the New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... that often, but why give them the advance? It would be on the net."
He reveals that Israel bombed the scanning machine that Iran sent to Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... once Hezbollah suspected that its beepers were booby-trapped. However,
if you can't say something nice about a person some juicy gossip will go well... once three pagers were sent to Iran to be checked, he decided to act.
He also says that Israel stopped Iranian airborne troops from reaching Syria to protect Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Horror of Homs... in December as rebels captured Damascus.
In addition to Gaza, Lebanon, and Iran, Israel is also fighting another front, he says — the "deep state." He says the entrenched left-wing babus bureaucrats threaten Israel’s democracy, a line Netanyahu has used repeatedly since Trump, who has made similar claims about the US, returned to office.
More about all of that plus President Trump’s thinking here.
[OneIndia] Pakistani troops engaged in unprovoked firing, breaching the ceasefire along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir for the fourth consecutive night, officials reported this morning.
"During the night of April 27-28, Pakistan Army posts initiated unprovoked small arms fire across the Line of Control in areas opposite Kupwara and Poonch districts," the Indian Army stated, adding that they responded "swiftly and effectively".
This marked the first instance of the Pakistan Army violating the ceasefire in the Poonch sector.
The exchange of fire between Indian and Pakistani forces followed the death of 26 individuals in a terrorist attack in Jammu and Kashmir's Pahalgam last Tuesday.
Ties between India and Pakistan have deteriorated further after the involvement of a terror group linked to Pakistan-based Lashkar-e-Taiba came to light in the Pahalgam attack - the deadliest in Jammu and Kashmir since the Pulwama incident.
[OneIndia] Following the Pahalgam terror attack, which claimed the lives of 26 Indian tourists, tensions between India and Pakistain intensified.
On Saturday, Pakistain accused India of abruptly releasing water into the Jhelum River without notifying Pak authorities.
A Dunya News report highlighted a sudden rise in water levels near Muzaffarabad in Pakistain-occupied Kashmir ...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there.... , attributing the surge to India.
The local administration declared a water emergency in Hattian Bala, approximately 40 km from Muzaffarabad along the Jhelum River, and issued warnings via mosque announcements. The report noted that these alerts sparked panic among residents living near the riverbanks.
According to the report, the water originated from Anantnag in Kashmir and flowed through the Chakothi region of Pakistain-occupied Kashmir.
Pak authorities condemned the action, labelling it a "complete violation of international rules and water agreements".
These allegations followed India's decision to suspend the 1960 Indus Waters Treaty in response to the Pahalgam attack, which was perpetrated by Pakistain-based terrorists.

If it’s a story we want that can’t be found elsewhere, we’ll source even from the dreaded Ay Pee, Snowy Thing, though we strongly prefer local sources when we can get them.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Opioids 1000 times stronger than morphine and an animal sedative used to lace street drugs have been detected in Australia's wastewater.
The discovery has been described as a "red flag" and comes as the deadly class of synthetic opioids - nitazines - claims dozens of lives in Australia.
Some 180 wastewater samples from 60 sites nationwide were analysed, with about three to six per cent of samples including five different nitazenes.
These synthetic opioids have become one of the fastest-growing psychoactive substances in the world since emerging in the illicit market in the late 2010s.
Many users overdose after taking nitazenes unknowingly, with compounds often mixed into illicit drugs such as heroin and ketamine as well as MDMA, also known as ecstasy.
The study of Australian wastewater in August 2024 found high rates of xylazine, a sedative used by vets on animals and not approved for human use in Australia.
It was detected in one in four samples.
"Given the potency of nitazenes and the health complications associated with xylazine, even low-level detections are a red flag," study co-first author and University of South Australia academic Emma Keller said on Monday.
The researchers developed a highly sensitive method to detect the substances in wastewater, providing a potentially vital early warning tool to health authorities.
"This is the first time a comprehensive suite of nitazene compounds and xylazine has been monitored in Australian wastewater," co-first author Corbus Gerber said.
Dr Keller and Dr Gerber's method is adaptable and can be quickly updated to detect new derivatives as they emerge.
That would be an essential capability as drug manufacturers continue to tweak chemical structures to evade legislation, the university said.
The research was published on April 22 in the latest issue of peer-reviewed journal Environmental Science and Pollution Research.
One funder was the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission, which is among several public authorities alarmed at the surging use of nitazenes.
Since 2021, nitazenes have been detected in every state and territory, and have been linked to at least 23 overdose deaths in Victoria and seven in South Australia alone.
A coroner in recent weeks concluded four people, one as young as 17, who died in the same Melbourne house in June 2024 had overdosed on cocaine laced with nitazenes.
Health authorities in NSW and South Australia have issued multiple urgent warnings about nitazenes being sold as black-market oxycodone or other substances.
Customs officials intercepted more than 60 imports of the killer group of drugs in 2023 and 2024, largely originating from Hong Kong, the UK and Canada.
Australian Federal Police have described nitazenes "like playing Russian roulette" with lives.
[Wikipedia] On 28 April 2025, at 12:33 p.m. (CET) a major power outage occurred across the Iberian Peninsula and parts of southern France, affecting Andorra, Portugal, Spain and southern France.[1] Reports indicated issues with the European electricity grid. Traffic lights in many places stopped working and metro lines had to be evacuated.[2] At approximately 16:00 local time, Spanish electrical operator Red Eléctrica estimated it would take "between six and ten hours" to restore service[3] calling the outage "exceptional and totally extraordinary."[4] At around the same time the Portuguese network operator indicated it could take up to a week for operations to return to normal.[5]
Impacts on Portugal, Spain, Andorra, France, and Morocco.
POSSIBLE CAUSE
At 15:03 GMT, Portuguese grid operator REN said the outage was due to "temperature variations in Spain" causing a rare atmospheric phenomenon. This induced oscillations in high voltage power lines and disrupted synchronisation between systems, advising it could take up to a week for the network to return to normal.[5]
A fire, reported to be in southwest France between Perpignan and eastern Narbonne, which damaged a high-voltage power line, has also been identified as a possible cause by Portugal's national electricity company REN said.[16] Réseau de Transport d'Électricité, the company in charge of maintaining said power line, declared on its official Twitter account that there hadn't been any fire in the area.[17]
The Spanish cybersecurity agency Incibe was reported to be investigating the possibility that a cyberattack caused the incident.[18][19]
[Daily Mail, where America get its news] Spain and Portugal have been hit by widespread blackouts, with millions plunged into darkness amid scenes of mayhem across major European cities.
The power cuts come just days after Spain's power grid ran entirely on renewable energy, including wind, solar and hyrdro power, for a whole day for the first time on April 16.
Spanish officials are urgently investigating the cause of the outages and have said they are looking into the possibility of the blackouts being triggered by a devastating cyber attack.
All of Valencia and Barcelona were left without power, Spain's entire rail network shut down, internet services stopped working and there was chaos on the streets as traffic built up in Madrid and Lisbon.
Madrid's Mayor has urged people to stay where they are as they deal with the disaster, while the president of the city's regional government has called for Spain's prime minister to activate an emergency plan so soldiers can be deployed.
Videos online show railway networks in Spanish cities plunged into chaos, with people being evacuated through tunnels as blackouts hit underground stations and halted trains.
Parts of La Belle France also lost power after the outages in Spain and Portugal, the country's grid operator confirmed. Further outages have been reported as far as Belgium, according to the latest information.
The cause of the outages is not yet clear, with the Spanish government saying it is working to 'identify the origin'.
A fire on the Alaric mountain in the south-west of La Belle France which damaged a high-voltage power line has also been identified as a possible cause, Portugal's national electric company REN said.
A director at Spain's electricity grid operator said just before 3pm local time that the outage is 'exceptional and totally extraordinary' and will take between six and 10 hours to repair.

Wind and terrestrial solar are just not suitable for the generation of grid power. They're niche solutions for niche problems.
Any electrical grid with a significant share of wind and terrestrial solar power generators will necessarily become unstable because these power sources are unstable.
The "attack" that caused this was not a cyber attack, it was a political attack, namely submission to the Green agenda.

Anyone advocating this should be burned at the stake, according to environmentalists who FOUGHT this pollution for years. I happen to agree with that given that when I look to the Houston skyline, it's not covered in brown haze anymore.
And if they trigger the next ice age? The answer is scaphism on pay per view and betting in vegas. I would bet none last more than a week.

before sulfur was eliminated from airplane fuel, there was a high level of particulates in the air at flight levels (5000' to 40,000')
there was plenty of sunlight back then
the sulfur was almost completely eliminated by the end of the 1990s
the sulfur was eliminated as a health benefit measure, not for climate control
the change in world temperatures is complex and difficult to actually measure as the atmosphere is quite complicated; the particulates had a number of offsetting effects, some cooling, some warming
this geoengineering experiment is designed to do substantial measurement at different altitudes

[Independent] Trader Joe's announced this week that it's going to be opening 21 new locations across the U.S.
The California-based grocery chain said it had already opened two new stores in 2025, and is reportedly planning to open up another 21 sometime soon. The dates of the stores’ openings was not available at the time of this report.
In addition to the new stores, the company also recently opened up a location in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, on April 10, and in Seattle on April 11.
Trader Joe's operates 581 stores across 42 states and Washington, DC, according to the company spokesperson. The chain has locations in every state except Alaska, Hawaii, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Wyoming Mississippi, and West Virginia.
[24/7] Buc-ee’s has become an absolute phenomenon. Its stores are located along Interstates and are absolutely massive, some with more than 100 gas pumps and hundreds of parking spaces. Devoted Buc-ee’s fans love everything from their sparkling clean restrooms to massive assortment of grab-and-go foods.
For travelers tired of marginal food and dirty bathrooms on long road trips, Buc-ee’s can be an oasis. Unfortunately, Buc-ee’s has long been a regional store. As of 2023 there are 46 locations, and only 12 stores outside of Texas. However, that’s about to change with Buc-ee’s opening in Wisconsin, Louisiana, Mississippi, Ohio, Virginia, Colorado, and Missouri.

I use BUC-EE`S on trips around the country. Buc.. is trying to open a second store near Monument, CO. Besides destroying a very beautiful area, the other problem is they are building on a road that has had 5 multi semi crashes this year alone. [BBC] A 27-year-old university student who climbed Mount Fuji outside of its official climbing season was rescued twice in four days, after he returned to look for his mobile phone.
The Chinese student, who lives in Japan, was first rescued by helicopter on Tuesday while on the Fujinomiya trail, which sits about 3,000m (9,800ft) above sea level.
He was unable to descend the trail after he lost his crampons - a spiked device that is attached to the bottom of climbing shoes for better traction.
But days later, he returned to the mountain to retrieve belongings that he left behind, including his phone. He was rescued again on Saturday after suffering from altitude sickness but is now out of danger.
[RedState] Across the Atlantic in the United Kingdom, Nigel Farage's Reform Party is making some headway in the polls. Mr. Farage and his fellows are gaining confidence and are starting to put out policy proposals - and one set of policies, on illegal immigration, looks broadly familiar.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage unveiled a sweeping four-point plan on immigration on Thursday, promising a crackdown on illegal migration and the appointment of a new ’Deportations Minister’ under a Reform-led government.
Speaking in Dover, the symbolic heart of Britain’s migration crisis, Farage declared: "We will bring a total end to all asylum claims from people who come here on travel visas or as students," while reaffirming his pledge to take the UK out of the European Convention on Human Rights (ECHR) and repeal the Human Rights Act.
We have our own "Deportations Minister," although we don't call him that; we call him the Border Czar, that being the famous and dedicated Tom "The Hammer" Homan. I would suggest to Mr. Farage that, should the Reform Party win big enough to propel him into the Prime Minister's chair, he could do a lot worse than to send his Deportations Minister over to the United States to confer and compare notes with Mr. Homan.
Oh, and Mr. Farage should find the Deportations Minister a cool nickname, too.
Reform is pulling ahead of Labour and the Conservatives in at least one poll.
[PJ] A hundred and sixty years ago today, the largest Confederate surrender ended the U.S. Civil War. Or did it?
On April 26, 1865, rebel Confederate Gen. Joseph E. Johnston surrendered at Bennett Place to Union Gen. William T. Sherman, effectively ending the Civil War, a war which Democrats had launched in fury over the election of an anti-slavery Republican president (Lincoln). In the 19th century, Democrats used war, domestic terrorism, election fraud, dishonest propaganda, and fear tactics to undermine American patriotism, peace, and equality. If that sounds very familiar to our own day, that is because the Democrats never really stopped fighting a civil war, despite the surrender. They simply changed the battlegrounds and weapons.
Bennett Place ended the military phase of the Civil War, and was certainly a historic victory. But mere days before, a Confederate empathizer who opposed civil rights had assassinated Abraham Lincoln, leaving racist, incompetent Vice President Andrew Johnson — a Democrat — to butcher Reconstruction. Victorious Union Gen. Ulysses S. Grant would go on to face and fight widespread Democrat domestic terrorism against Republicans (particularly black voters) when he was elected to the presidency. To this very day, Democrats are still encouraging domestic terrorism and protecting violent criminals in order to advance their chaotic ideology and undermine the current Republican administration.

[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] A Utah man was arrested after police discovered 71 homemade bombs and a substantial stockpile of bomb-making materials inside his Orem apartment, according to Provo Police.
Eric Whitaker, 41, was taken into custody on Friday after allegedly brandishing a weapon near the Provo Towne Centre Mall. Following his arrest, authorities secured a search warrant for his apartment.
Inside, officers uncovered bomb-making supplies and 'a large number of home-made improvised explosive anti-personnel fragmentation grenade devices,' Provo Police said in a press release.
The Metro Bomb Squad was called to the scene, prompting the evacuation of the apartment building as the devices were recovered safely.
In total, 71 homemade explosive devices were seized along with additional bomb-making materials.
Whitaker is now facing 71 counts of possession of weapons of mass destruction and one count of possessing bomb-making materials. The case has been referred to the Utah County Attorney's Office.
We are proud of our Patrol Officers for their fast response to the initial report of suspicious activity, and their continued assistance to our Detectives during the follow-up investigation.
'We also appreciate Orem PD's Patrol Division for assisting in the evacuation measures during the search warrant.'
This case follows just a month after a would-be suicide bomber in the UK was jailed for plotting to “kill as many nurses as possible” in a pressure cooker explosion at a hospital in Leeds.
Mohammad Farooq brought a homemade bomb—modeled after the 2013 Boston Marathon devices but packed with twice as much explosive—into St James’s Hospital in January 2023.
He was talked out of carrying out the attack by patient Nathan Newby, whom Justice Cheema-Grubb described as “an extraordinary, ordinary man whose decency and kindness...prevented an atrocity in a maternity wing of a major British hospital.”
Farooq, a clinical support worker, had targeted the hospital after failing to access the American base at RAF Menwith Hill and was found guilty after a jury deliberated for less than two hours.
Police found him with a viable bomb, knives, black tape, and a blank-firing imitation firearm.
An investigation revealed he had been self-radicalized online and obtained bomb-making instructions from an Al Qaeda publication.
Bethan David, head of the CPS Counter Terrorism Division, said: “Farooq is an extremely dangerous individual who amassed a significant amount of practical and theoretical information that enabled him to produce a viable explosive device...The extremist views Farooq holds are a threat to our society, and I am pleased the jury found him guilty of his crimes.”

So? I'm sure he's just a hobbyist. When I was a kid the local hobby store taught us how to make match-head pipe bombs. And I'm not a terrorist... no, really.

Over here in Mid-Eastern GA. A Deputy was killed and another wounded by a Guy living out of a Motor Home. Police/GBI/GSP found modified Full Auto weapons, ammo and a stack of Pipe bombs.
What is strange is the 2 deputies had just served a restraining order, then as the 2 deputies were leaving, then he shot them.

Last weekend I camped at an extremely small obscure Georgia state park with a nice pond next to it. Small signs around the pond said alligators live them. There was no fence around the pond. Theoretically the gators could have simply crawled out and dined on sleeping campers. Camp staff said this has never happened (so far).

The employees who actively 'help' may be in legal jeopardy. However, probably not so for those who simply fail to notify ICE or ignore illegal activities.

[Rudaw] The Kurdish-led Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) have rescued two Yazidi men from the grip of the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... (ISIS) after years in captivity, an affiliate of the Iraqi labor ministry confirmed to Rudaw on Sunday. This marks the second such rescue by the SDF in under two weeks.
The individuals, identified by Rudaw by their initials D.R. and O.K., were reunited with their families under the supervision of the Yazidi Affairs Office, an affiliate of the Iraqi ministry of labor.
Born in 2003, D.R. is from the village of Kocho (Kojo), while O.K., born in 2006, hails from the village of al-Wardiya. Both villages are located in the predominantly Yazidi district of Shingal (Shingal) in northern Iraq.
In June 2014, ISIS seized control of large swathes of territory in Iraq’s north and west. A little over a month later, in August, the group launched a wide-scale attack against the Yazidi community in Iraq's northern Shingal.
The rescued captives, D.R. and O.K, "were kidnapped by ISIS Lions of Islam in 2014," Sarab Ilias, head of the Yazidis affairs office at the Iraqi ministry of labor told Rudaw on Sunday.
"Unfortunately, during [the military] operations and bombings, D.R. lost a leg and O.K. lost an arm," Ilias explained, adding that the two men were "reunited with their families," who currently reside in Shingal and the Qadiya camp located in the Kurdistan Region’s Duhok province.
Notably, this is the second such operation led by the Kurdish-led SDF in less than two weeks.
The SDF in mid-April announced that they had rescued a Yazidi man who had been kidnapped by ISIS around 11 years ago, when he was just eight years old.
The Kurdish-led force then said that its military units carried out a "special security operation" to free the kidnapped Yazidi identified as O.K.
O.K. was quoted by the SDF statement as sharing the harrowing story of his abduction by ISIS.
"I was born in 2006, and I was just a child when ISIS kidnapped me in 2014. ISIS captured me and my family, but separated me and my brother."
He said that he was held in the northern Iraqi city of djinn-infested Mosul ... the home of a particularly ferocious and hairy djinn... , which ISIS in 2014 declared as the capital of its proclaimed caliphate in Syria and Iraq. He remained in Mosul for three months before being separated from his brother and transferred, along with 60 other Yazidi children, to the city of Albu Kamal in eastern Syria.
"After arriving in al-Bukamal, ISIS subjected us to a three-year religious indoctrination course. I was given the name ’Osama al-Sinjari.’ Then we were moved to the Syrian desert for another three years of military training," he recounted.
O.K. noted that near the end of 2024 and "while I was getting treatment at one of the ISIS hideouts in the Homs desert, the hideout was struck by an intense Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... from the [US-led] Global Coalition [to Defeat ISIS], which resulted in the death of 20 terrorists, including high-ranking commanders."
"I miraculously survived the bombing," he said, expressing his relief and gratitude toward the SDF for "liberating him and thousands of other Yazidis, particularly women, from the grip of ISIS."
ISIS’s 2014 assault on Shingal resulted in the abduction of 6,417 Yazidi women and kiddies, many of whom were subjected to sexual slavery and forced labor. Despite being territorially defeated in Iraq by 2017 and in Syria by 2019, ISIS continues to pose a security threat in the region.
The United Nations ...where theory meets practice and practice loses... has recognized the systematic targeting of the Yazidis as genocide. Up to 200,000 Yazidis were displaced from Shingal, many of whom now live in camps across the Kurdistan Region, particularly in Dohuk province.
As of now, 2,590 Yazidis remain missing, according to the Office of Rescuing Abducted Yazidis, which is affiliated with the Kurdistan Region Presidency.
[ShabelleMedia] Heavy fighting ... as opposed to the more usual name-calling or slapsy... between two groups within the Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. (ISIS) is reported to have broken out today in the CalMiskad Mountains, located in the Bari region of northeastern Somalia. The clash resulted in both casualties and material losses.
The violence erupted like lava from a volcano after a faction of Somali ISIS fighters attempted to surrender to Puntland ...a region in northeastern Somalia, centered on Garowe in the Nugaal province. Its leaders declared the territory an autonomous state in 1998. Puntland and the equally autonomous Somaliland seem to have avoided the clan rivalries and warlordism that have typified the rest of Somalia, which puts both places high on the list for Islamic subversion... security forces amidst a broader ongoing offensive against the group. Sources indicate that the fighters sought to escape the conflict, but tensions among the hard boyz led to open combat.
Puntland military officials confirmed that the battle lasted for about an hour, with fatalities and injuries reported, though they have yet to specify the exact number of casualties. The fighting also caused significant damage to property, but further details remain scarce.
According to reports, a dispute within the ISIS ranks may have contributed to the clash. The disagreement appears to center on whether the group should continue fighting or lay down their weapons and surrender to Puntland forces.
The ISIS group has lost considerable territory in the Bari region as part of the ongoing Hilaac operation by Puntland forces in the CalMiskad Mountains, an area heavily targeted by both U.S. and UAE Arclight airstrike ...KABOOM!... s.
The air raids have been part of a broader strategy to weaken ISIS positions in the region’s Calmiskad mountains.

Lots going on in a check ride. There is a lot of people slamming the woman, DEI or not, as being at fault. The Army is very clear on pilots. The Pilot In Command is fully responsible for the aircraft, its flight path and the crew. She was not the PIC, The W2 in the left seat was. If she did not respond to his command to fly lower he was obligated to take action and keep the aircraft in a safe flight path. He failed, the female pilot and the crew chief died because of it. All this DEI shit is throwing shade on the dead.

[Korrespondent] Russians conduct mass training on mopeds and motorcycles.
The Russian military is developing tactics for the systematic offensive use of motorcycles.
The Russian army is preparing to integrate the use of motorcycles during offensive operations in Ukraine this summer and fall, according to a report by the US-based Institute for the Study of War (ISW).
Analysts say Russia is likely preparing to systematically integrate the use of motorcycles into offensive operations in Ukraine this summer and fall to neutralize the capabilities of Ukrainian drones. eh?
In particular, ISW analysts are focusing on a video published by the Russian Defense Ministry on April 26, in which servicemen from the 299th Airborne Regiment of the 98th Airborne Division of the Russian Airborne Forces practice offensive and defensive tactics on motorcycles in groups of two or three people at a Russian training ground.
"The video suggests that the Russian military is likely developing tactics for the systematic offensive use of motorcycles and may be preparing to issue more motorcycles to Russian troops fighting in Ukraine," ISW said.
Pavel Shamshin, a spokesman for Ukraine's Kharkov group of troops, said Ukrainian intelligence had noticed enemy troops training their soldiers in motorcycle combat tactics, indicating that Russian troops are likely to increasingly use motorcycles in offensive operations in Ukraine this summer and fall.
According to the press secretary, motorcycles allow Russian soldiers to increase their speed and maneuverability, which is crucial for evading Ukrainian drone strikes, but the loud noise of a motorcycle prevents the driver from hearing Ukrainian drones approaching.
Recall that over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces eliminated 1,030 occupiers . Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian army has lost 948,640 servicemen.

[Regnum] All-Russian anti-terrorist exercises will be held in schools, colleges, and summer recreation and health improvement organizations for children from April 29 to 30. This was reported on April 27 by the First Deputy Minister of Education of the Russian Federation Alexander Bugayev.
“We, together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, and the Russian National Guard, have planned to hold all-Russian exercises on April 29–30 to practice a comprehensive scenario for actions in the event of an emergency situation on the territory of both educational institutions and, above all, summer recreation and health organizations,” he said during a meeting of the Presidium of the Council of Legislators of the Russian Federation.
The first all-Russian anti-terrorist exercises were held in August 2023. They were organized by the Ministry of Education, the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the Russian National Guard, and regional authorities. Educational institutions tested the functionality of warning systems, and worked out interaction with anti-terrorist commissions and emergency services.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin said on February 27 that the number of terrorist crimes in Russia has increased, and most of them are planned by Ukrainian special services.

Earlier, the head of state discussed aspects of work to combat terrorism at an operational meeting with permanent members of the Russian Security Council.
In December 2024, Putin approved a new strategy for countering extremism in Russia. The document contains 72 points. According to the strategy, the most serious extremist threat will be considered the spread of neo-Nazist ideas and the creation, including in Ukraine, of radical nationalist formations that organize criminal and sabotage-terrorist acts against civilian targets and residents of Russia.

[Regnum] After losing their positions in the DPR, the Ukrainian Armed Forces mistakenly supplied Russian fighters with chocolate, cigarettes and water, said a stormtrooper of the 51st Army of the Russian Armed Forces with the call sign Kaskad.
Even after Russian fighters captured enemy positions in Dzerzhinsk, Ukrainian Baba Yaga drones continued delivering packages for some time, a RIA Novosti attack aircraft reported.
Kaskad said that his group captured several Ukrainian military personnel, but could not get them out and remained in their positions. The prisoners, in turn, had no way to inform their command about being captured.
"That's why Baba Yaga regularly brought and dropped [food] on the positions and fed our boys. They smoked cigarettes and drank water," the Russian fighter said.
He noted that “supplies” from the Ukrainian Armed Forces were coming in uninterrupted, and the attack aircraft continued to eliminate enemy fighters the entire time.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, in March, Ukrainian Verkhovna Rada deputy Maryana Bezugla stated that the Ukrainian Air Defense Forces mistakenly shoot down about half of their own planes and helicopters that were lost.
[IsraelTimes] The United States has hit more than 800 targets in Yemen since mid-March, killing hundreds of Houthi rebel fighters, including members of the group’s leadership, the US military says.
Washington’s forces have hammered the Iran-backed Houthi rebels with near-daily air strikes since March 15 in an operation dubbed “Rough Rider,” seeking to end the threat they pose to vessels in the Red Sea and Gulf of Aden and reestablish US regional “deterrence.”
“Since the start of Operation Rough Rider, USCENTCOM has struck over 800 targets. These strikes have killed hundreds of Huthi fighters and numerous Houthi leaders,” the military command responsible for the Middle East says in a statement.
“The strikes have destroyed multiple command-and-control facilities, air defense systems, advanced weapons manufacturing facilities, and advanced weapons storage locations,” CENTCOM says.
Despite the strikes, the Houthis — who control large swaths of Yemen and have been at war with a Saudi-led coalition backing the internationally recognized government since 2015 — have continued to claim attacks against both US vessels and Israel.
CENTCOM says that “while the Houthis have continued to attack our vessels, our operations have degraded the pace and effectiveness of their attacks. Ballistic missile launches have dropped by 69 percent. Additionally, attacks from one-way attack drones have decreased by 55 percent.”
“Iran undoubtedly continues to provide support to the Houthis. The Houthis can only continue to attack our forces with the backing of the Iranian regime,” the military command says.
“We will continue to ratchet up the pressure until the objective is met, which remains the restoration of freedom of navigation and American deterrence in the region,” it adds.

[IsraelTimes] North Korea confirms for the first time that it sent troops to Russia to support its war against Ukraine.
US, South Korean and Ukrainian intelligence officials have said North Korea dispatched about 10,000-12,000 troops to Russia last fall. But North Korea hadn’t confirmed or denied its reported troop deployments to Russia until today.
Leader Kim Jong Un decided to send combat troops to Russia under a mutual defense treaty, the Central Military Commission of the ruling Workers’ Party says in a statement.
It cites Kim as saying the deployment was meant to “annihilate and wipe out the Ukrainian neo-Nazi occupiers and liberate the Kursk area in cooperation with the Russian armed forces.”
“They who fought for justice are all heroes and representatives of the honor of the motherland,” Kim said, according to the statement sent to state media.
In March, South Korea’s military said North Korea sent about 3,000 additional troops to Russia earlier this year, after its soldiers deployed on the Russian-Ukraine fronts suffered heavy casualties. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs assessed that around 4,000 North Korean soldiers had been killed or wounded.
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky earlier put the number of killed or wounded North Koreans at 4,000, though US estimates were lower at around 1,200.

[Regnum] The death toll from the explosion in the Iranian port of Shahid Rajaee, located near the city of Bandar Abbas, has increased to 40. This was reported on April 27 by the governor of the Iranian province of Hormozgan, Mohammad Ashouri Taziani.
Previously, 36 deaths were reported.
“The number of people who have died from injuries sustained in the explosion has now reached 40,” Mehr news agency quotes Taziani as saying.
On the afternoon of April 27, members of the Iranian parliament reported that many of the dead had not yet been identified. Media sources also suggested that there were other bodies of the dead under the rubble.
As reported by Regnum news agency, the explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port occurred on April 26. According to eyewitnesses, the sound was so loud that it was heard within a radius of 20 km from the scene. Local media reported that the explosion occurred at a warehouse for hazardous goods, but the head of the terminal, Pazhman Behzadpur, denied this information. An investigation has been launched into the explosion.
Russian President Vladimir Putin sent condolences to Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and the country's President Masoud Pezeshkian. The head of state expressed his readiness to provide the necessary assistance in eliminating the consequences of the disaster. Later, on Putin's orders, two amphibious aircraft Be-200ChS and Il-76 of the Ministry of Emergency Situations were sent to Iran.
There were 1,205 reported casualties from the explosion. Most of them have already been discharged from hospitals. As of 16:00 Moscow time on April 27, 190 people remain in hospitals, including 20 in intensive care units.
The Russian Embassy in Tehran reported that no information about injured Russian citizens had been received. Russian foreign missions in Iran are operating as usual.
Not a lie that it was said, but the claim is definitely taqqiya. Do go on…
[Regnum] There were no military goods in the Iranian port of Shahid Rajaee near the city of Bandar Abbas, where an explosion occurred the day before. This was stated on April 27 by the official representative of the Iranian Defense Ministry, Reza Telai-Nik.
“During the investigation, it was found that there were no imported or exported military cargoes in the area of the fire,” Iranian state television channel IRIB quotes him as saying.
A powerful explosion rocked the Iranian port of Shahid Rajaee on April 26. According to eyewitnesses, the sound of the explosion was so loud that it was heard within a radius of 20 km from the scene. One of the buildings collapsed, and port operations were suspended.
According to the latest data, 1,139 people were injured in the explosion. The total number of deaths at the moment is 25 people. As the head of the judicial power of Hormozgan province Mojtaba Ghahremani noted, 21 bodies have already been handed over to the forensic medical examination. The bodies of ten victims have been identified, including two women and eight men.
Several media outlets reported that the explosion occurred at a hazardous cargo warehouse. Terminal head Pazhman Behzadpour later denied this information, stating that the explosion was not related to hazardous cargo. An investigation has been launched into the incident. The Russian embassy in Tehran reported that no information about Russian citizens being injured has been received.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, Russian President Vladimir Putin sent condolences to the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran (IRI) Ayatollah Seyed Ali Khamenei and the President of the IRI Masoud Pezeshkian in connection with the explosion at the Shahid Rajaee port. In his telegram, the Russian leader also expressed his readiness to provide the necessary assistance in eliminating the consequences of the disaster.
It is worth noting that the Iranian Crisis Management Organization blamed the incident on ''unsafe storage of chemicals in containers at the Shahid Rajaee Port,'' according to the organization's front man, Hossein Zafri, who told the Iranian ILNA news agency, ''The cause of the earth-shattering kaboom was the chemicals inside the containers.''
Fires still burning a day later; person connected to Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Corps tells NYT that sodium perchlorate ignited.
An individual tied to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps reportedly confirmed the earth-shattering kaboom occurred in a shipment from China of a chemical used to produce missile fuel.
Fires continued to break out in different areas of Shahid Rajaei port as of Sunday night, according to state media, with helicopters and firefighters continuing efforts to extinguish them.
Iran’s health ministry urged residents of Hormozgan province, where the port is located, to avoid going outside "until further notice" and to use protective masks.
Authorities declared three days of public mourning across the province, and state TV reported all schools in offices in the bucolic provincial capital of Bandar Abbas, near the port, were ordered closed to allow authorities to focus on the emergency effort.
The port’s customs office said in a statement carried by state television ... and if you can't believe state television who can you believe?
that the earth-shattering kaboom probably resulted from a fire that broke out at the hazardous and chemical materials storage depot. A regional emergency official said several containers had went kaboom!.
The New York Times
...which still proudly claims Walter Duranty's Pulitzer prize... quoted an individual with ties to Iran’s IRGC, speaking on condition of anonymity
... for fear of being murdered... to discuss security matters, who said that sodium perchlorate had went kaboom!. The compound is a major ingredient in solid fuel for missiles.
The port had taken in a shipment of the chemical in March, the private security firm Ambrey said a day earlier. The fuel was part of a shipment from China by two vessels to Iran, first reported in January by the Financial Times.
BLAST HEARD 50 KILOMETERS AWAY, FIRE ’STILL NOT OUT’
Live footage from the port on Sunday showed thick smoke still visible at the scene of the earth-shattering kaboom.
"The fire is under control but still not out," a state TV correspondent reported from the site around 20 hours after the blast.
The explosion was so powerful that it was felt and heard about 50 kilometers (30 miles) away, Fars news agency reported.
Speaking Sunday at the scene, Iran’s Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni said that "the situation has stabilized in the main areas" of the port. He told state TV that workers had resumed loading containers and customs clearance.
Images from news agency IRNA on Saturday showed rescuers and survivors walking along a wide boulevard carpeted with debris after the blast at Shahid Rajaee, more than 1,000 kilometers (621 miles) south of Tehran.
Flames could be seen engulfing a truck trailer and blood stained the side of a crushed car, while a helicopter dropped water on massive black smoke clouds billowing from behind stacked shipping containers.
"The shockwave was so strong that most of the port buildings were severely damaged," Tasnim news agency reported.
Saturday is the start of the working week in Iran, meaning the port was busy with employees.
Three Chinese nationals were "lightly injured," China’s state broadcaster CCTV reported, citing its Bandar Abbas consulate.
“Israel was involved in the explosion,” MP Mohammad Siraj told the Rokna news agency on Sunday. “It was not accidental. Clear evidence points to Israeli involvement.”
“There were explosives planted in the container, either in their country of origin or along the transportation route,” Siraj claimed. “We do not rule out the involvement of internal factors in planting the explosives in the containers. The explosion occurred at four different locations.”
Siraj did nor provide evidence to back up his claim, and an Israeli official was quoted by Hebrew media Saturday as saying Israel had no part in the blast at the port.
Iran’s Defense Ministry denied the reports that the blast may have been caused by the mishandling of solid fuel used for missiles, with a spokesman telling state TV that the reports were “aligned with enemy psyops,” and that the blast-hit area did not contain any military cargo.
In a first reaction on Sunday, spokesman Gen. Reza Talaeinik denied that missile fuel had been imported through the port.
“No sort of imported and exporting consignment for fuel or military application was (or) is in the site of the port,” he told state television by telephone.
He called foreign reports on the missile fuel baseless — but offered no explanation for what material detonated with such incredible force at the site. Talaeinik promised authorities would offer more information later.
Social media footage of the explosion on Saturday at Shahid Rajaei saw reddish-hued smoke rising from the fire just before the detonation. That suggested a chemical compound being involved in the blast, as in the Beirut explosion.
[JustTheNews] Texas Department of Public Safety officers continue to find missing children and arrest those on its criminal illegal immigrant most wanted list.
With April being “Child Abuse Prevention Month,” DPS troopers have rescued more than 600 children through its Interdiction for the Protection of Children (IPC) Program, DPS said. IPC officers are trained “to identify victims of exploitation, missing children, crimes against children and high-risk threats against children,” DPS said.
Through Gov. Greg Abbott’s border security mission, Operation Lone Star, DPS troopers rescued more than 900 children illegally brought into the U.S. in Texas alone under the Biden administration, The Center Square reported.
So far this year, DPS and other agencies have arrested 21 Texas 10 Most Wanted fugitives, sex offenders and others, including six sex offenders and seven criminal illegal immigrants – with $25,000 in rewards being paid for tips that yielded arrests, DPS said.
One recent arrest was of a fugitive on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List, 46-year-old Mexican national Carlos Ortiz. He was arrested after DPS received a tip through Crime Stoppers.
Ortiz was wanted by authorities in Tarrant County since October 2024 on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a young child. He was arrested at an apartment complex in Haltom City by multiple authorities, including special agents from DPS’ Criminal Investigations Division, Haltom City Police and U.S. Marshals North Texas Fugitive Task Force.
Since 2008, Ortiz had been arrested in Tarrant County for assault causing bodily injury to a family member and driving while intoxicated, according to DPS records.
Another fugitive arrested on Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Criminal Illegal Immigrants List was 25-year-old Honduran national Anderson Ronaldo Reyes Giron. He was arrested in north central Austin and wanted by authorities in Travis County since February for deadly conduct (discharging a firearm) and in Williamson County since March on property theft charges.
He was first arrested under the Trump administration in January 2017 by U.S. Customs and Border Protection “for alien removal.” By August 2024, he was arrested by the Austin Police Department officers for deadly conduct (discharging a firearm) and subsequently bonded out of jail, according to DPS records.
Through the governor’s Public Safety Office, taxpayer money is allocated to Texas Crime Stoppers to offer cash rewards to anyone who provides information that leads to the arrest of one of Texas’ 10 Most Wanted Fugitives, Sex Offenders or Criminal Illegal Immigrants. To be eligible for cash rewards, tipsters must provide information to authorities by calling the Crime Stoppers hotline at 1-800-252-TIPS (8477), submitting a tip through DPS website or Facebook page.
“All tips are anonymous – regardless of how they are submitted – and tipsters will be provided a tip number instead of using a name,” DPS says.
As offenders are arrested and come off of the lists, others are added.
Two recent additions include U.S. citizens, Rondarrius Evans, 21, of New Boston, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Fugitives List and Rodolfo Martinez Jr., 42, to the Texas 10 Most Wanted Sex Offenders List.
Evans is wanted by authorities in Bowie County since last August on two capital murder charges and drug charges. Martinez Jr. is wanted in Harris County since last November for indecency with a child by sexual contact.

[Regnum] An earthquake with a magnitude of 5.9 was recorded in the South Pacific Ocean near Macquarie Island, which is part of Australia. This was reported by the state geological agency Geoscience Australia.
According to the agency, the earthquake occurred at approximately 12:22 Moscow time. Its epicenter was located at a depth of about 10 km. The epicenter was located at a distance of about 1.5 thousand km from the large island of Tasmania.
There was no information about possible casualties or damage, and no tsunami threat was announced.
As reported by the Regnum news agency, on April 26, four earthquakes with a magnitude of up to 2.3 were recorded in the Crimean-Black Sea region. Marina Bondar, deputy director of the Institute of Seismology and Geodynamics of the V. I. Vernadsky Crimean Federal University, clarified that these earthquakes were weak, but due to the shallow location of the epicenter and the location of the epicenter on land, some residents were able to feel the tremors.
On April 23, an earthquake occurred in western Turkey, which lasted for about 10-15 seconds, followed by aftershocks. The tremors, felt in several provinces, caused panic in Istanbul. The source was located at a depth of almost 7 km underground. According to the Istanbul Governor's Office, 151 people were injured in the earthquake, there were no casualties as a result of the tremors.

Local authorities do not yet have information about the consequences of the earthquake, the governor of the province, Numan Hatipoglu, wrote on the social network X.
As reported by Regnum News Agency, professor of seismology, member of the Istanbul Municipality Council of Scientists on Earthquakes Haluk Eyidogan stated that Turkey is threatened by a new, larger earthquake. At the same time, it is impossible to predict the exact date of the upcoming disaster. The seismologist emphasized that the Marmara region has always been prone to earthquakes. According to scientists, the North Anatolian Fault in the Marmara Sea provokes large-scale earthquakes once every 250 years. Eyidogan also warned that the powerful earthquake expected in Istanbul will affect the entire Marmara region with a population of more than 25 million people. In particular, the disaster will affect not only Istanbul, but also the provinces of Bursa, Çanakkale, Tekirdağ, Kocaeli, Yalova.
The earthquake in western Turkey began at about 12:50 Moscow time on April 23 and lasted for 10-15 seconds, followed by aftershocks. The tremors, felt in several provinces, caused panic in Istanbul. The epicenter was located at a depth of almost 7 km underground. According to the Istanbul Governor's Office, more than 150 people were injured in the earthquake, there were no casualties as a result of the tremors.

MONSTER TORNADO ON THE SUN: On Earth, the most dangerous tornadoes are rated F5. On the sun, they can be hundreds of times worse. David Wilson photographed this twister, big enough to swallow our entire planet, from his backyard observatory in Inverness, Scotland:

[REGNUM] On April 23, the FSB reported the expulsion from Russia of former employee of the Moldovan Information and Security Service Dmitry Rusnak. According to the Russian special service, the agent arrived in 2024 with a "task to collect classified information about the plans of the Russian leadership" regarding the republic. The information was collected in the interests of Moldovan intelligence. And this is quite symptomatic.
Apparently, the political leadership of Moldova is seriously concerned about its own prospects in the context of the upheaval of the system of international alliances initiated by the new US administration.
It is no coincidence that in her last speech in the national parliament, President Maia Sandu stated: “Our faith in a fair world based on rules has been greatly shaken.”
Against the backdrop of the new "diplomatic revolution" started by Donald Trump, the Moldovan asset is clearly losing its significance due to Chisinau's great dependence on external players. And Sandu's patrons are increasingly frugal in their support, while neighbors are not particularly ceremonious with the interests of the Moldovan elites.
DISCREDITS ROMANIA
The leader of the presidential election race in Romania, sovereigntist candidate Geoge Simion, recently stated that if he comes to power, he intends to stop the practice of "facade visits" to Moldova. He insists on Bucharest ceasing its support for the current Moldovan authorities, since this is sponsoring "separatism and anti-Romanian sentiments" in the republic.
The opposition politician has been banned from entering the Republic of Moldova for several years for participating in events not sanctioned by the authorities. From his point of view, Sandu's government discredits the very idea of "unification of the two Romanian states" with its corruption and unprofessionalism.
In this regard, in Bucharest and Chisinau, both jokingly and seriously, they are asking the question: will Sandu remove Simion’s status as persona non grata if he suddenly becomes the head of Romania.
In the upcoming elections there on May 4, Sandu, by the way, tacitly supports the current mayor of Bucharest, Nicusor Dan. He represents the left-liberal party "Union for the Salvation of Romania", which enjoys the favor of the European bureaucracy.
This choice is contrary to the official alliance of the ruling PAS party in Moldova with the National Liberal Party of Romania. The latter's representative, Crin Antonescu, is also running for president and, according to most polls, ranks second in popularity ratings.
So, in the Romanian elections, the leader of Moldova is making a very risky bet. But what won't you do for the sake of Brussels' loyalty, since the financial stability of the Prut-Dniester republic directly depends on it.
The recently promised tranche of 1.9 billion euros by the European Union is currently being discussed with great enthusiasm in Chisinau. Moreover, 75% of this amount will go to cover the country's budget deficit.
THE GRAPE LAW OF BESSARABIAN GEOPOLITICS
An indicator of the new realities in the relationship between the European Commission and the Republic is the allocation of this financial assistance on loan terms.
The Europeans will borrow money for their wards on the international market. Accordingly, the interest rate on the loan will be determined by the situation on the credit market and the efficiency of the European officials.
The motivation for such actions by the EU towards Moldova can be better understood from the macroeconomic statistics of last year.
Exports from the republic to European countries fell by 300 million dollars, but imports of goods in the opposite direction increased by as much as 400 million. By driving Chisinau into debt bondage, Brussels ensures a positive balance of its foreign trade. As they say, nothing personal, just business.
An indicator that demand for traditional Moldovan goods is declining is the rapid reduction in the area of vineyards.
According to the International Organization of Vine and Wine, over the past five years (that is, mainly during Sandu’s first presidency), Moldovan vineyards have decreased by 20%. Wine production has decreased even more significantly – by almost 40%. Against the backdrop of the rapid growth of this industry in Russia, it is expected that our vineyards will soon leave behind what was once the main wine-producing region of the Soviet Union.
This, by the way, is not surprising, since winemaking as a basic branch of the Bessarabian economy began to develop only after the region was annexed to the Russian Empire in the 19th century. The famous Governor-General of Novorossiya and Bessarabia Mikhail Vorontsov made a great contribution to this. Accordingly, the establishment of local vineyards and the creation of wineries initially occurred based on the demands of the Russian sales market.
Since then, in periods when the Prut-Dniester region separated from Russia, there was a decline in production in this industry, which was especially important for the region. And after Bessarabia returned to the power of St. Petersburg or Moscow, the reverse process took place.
This is the grape law of Bessarabian geopolitics.
ERDOGAN'S PATIENCE IS RUNNING OUT
The desire to maintain control over the legislative body dictates to the Sandu regime the need to purge the leadership of the Gagauz autonomy.
The latter is traditionally a stronghold of opposition forces, and the head (bashkan) of the autonomous region, Yevgeniya Gutsul, is perhaps the president's main political opponent. At the end of March, she was arrested in connection with the investigation into the case of "abuses during the bashkan elections" in 2023.
The Moldovan political elite began to discuss the issue of abolishing direct elections of the head by the residents of Gagauzia. Such a reform, of course, will reduce the political weight of the Bashkan and weaken the autonomy.
But this also creates a huge risk of deterioration in relations with the main sponsor of the Gagauz autonomy: Turkey.
Until recently, Ankara preferred not to publicly protest against Chisinau’s creeping offensive against the autonomous Gagauz (Orthodox Turks), launched by Sandu from the moment she came to power.
But even Erdogan's patience is apparently coming to an end. On April 21, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan publicly chided the European Union for preferring to ignore how the elected head of Gagauzia was "put in jail."
The head of the Turkish Foreign Ministry put this incident on a par with the political discrimination against Marine Le Pen in France and the removal of Calin Georgescu, who won in the first round, from the presidential elections in Romania.
For Chisinau, this demarche is doubly unpleasant because, at Turkey's instigation, a painful domestic political issue is being brought to the international level. This is extremely undesirable in the context of the parliamentary election campaign that has already officially started and will end on September 28, 2025.
IF THERE IS NO WATER IN THE RIVER
Another unpleasant topic for the ruling PAS could be the irreversible deterioration of the hydrological situation on the Dniester.
Environmentalists are reporting a catastrophic shallowing of the river, and this spring they are registering a record low water level for the season. This is largely due to the actions of Ukraine, which is irregularly releasing water from the Dniester hydroelectric power station, which is emptying the Dniester reservoir.
In this regard, the head of the Moldovan government, Dorin Recean, even announced the upcoming construction of a main water pipeline from the Romanian Carpathians. "There is enough water in the Dniester for Chisinau and for irrigating some areas, but this is not enough for a full water supply," the prime minister believes.
Meanwhile, the Ukrainian side refuses to negotiate with Moldova about the operation of the hydroelectric complex on the border river.
The formal reason for this is said to be the ongoing special military operation of Russia. They say that in conditions of energy deficit, the production of electricity is an absolute priority.
The same circumstance justifies Ukraine’s unilateral construction of a second line of barriers around the Dniester Hydroelectric Power Station-2 on the Moldovan bank of the Dniester.
The facility is needed to increase the safety of the energy facility, but its construction is being carried out on effectively captured Moldovan territory. However, the current government in Chisinau prefers not to advertise such treachery of its neighbor.
After all, it, like many other modern realities, contradicts the idea of the Euro-Atlantic “solidarity of free nations,” which has effectively died, but still continues to determine the rhetoric of the ruling Moldovan elite by inertia.

[Regnum] The death toll from a car driving into a crowd at the Lapu-Lapu festival in Vancouver, Canada, has risen to 11 people. This was reported on April 27 by Deputy Chief of City Police Steve Rai.
"So far, 11 people have died," Rai said during a press conference.
According to the law enforcement officer, the motive for the crime of the person responsible for the accident is still unknown.
The SUV crash into a crowd in Vancouver was reported earlier on April 27. The incident occurred at the intersection of East 41st Avenue and Fraser Street. There was a party there to celebrate Lapu-Lapu Day, a holiday dedicated to the memory of the first national hero of the Philippines, the Muslim leader Lapu-Lapu, who fought for the freedom of the indigenous Filipinos.
Then footage from the scene of the tragedy appeared on social networks. They show people lying on the ground and emergency services who rushed to their aid. The camera also captured a black Audi blocked by police.
The driver, a 30-year-old Vancouver resident, was the lone occupant and Rai said evidence does not lead investigators to believe it was an act of terrorism, however, his motive remains unclear.
Interim police Chief Const. Steve Rai confirmed that barricades did not block the area where the driver entered the festival.
According to the news conference, the Vancouver police only put up precautions against attack for those few instances when they have intelligence of a likely attack, not as a general practice. Out of 2200 events and 1000 protests, most are family friendly and not ideological, there.
He added that the driver has a significant history of interactions with police in connection with mental health issues.
Nuts, not malevolent.
His name has not been released as no charges have yet been laid.

[HODHODYEMENNEWS.NET] Power outages in the city of Aden, under the control of the Saudi-led coalition, have surged to 19 hours per day, doubling the suffering of citizens amidst a stifling heatwave and a rapid collapse of services.
The people of Aden are facing an unprecedented electricity crisis, coinciding with a sharp deterioration in living conditions, which will exacerbate the suffering of families already deprived of the most basic necessities of life.
The electricity crisis worsened after the ''Petromasila'' power plant, which operates on crude oil, ceased functioning, in addition to the depletion of diesel fuel for the remaining power stations.
The pro-coalition government has not made any effort to import emergency fuel shipments, sparking widespread anger among citizens in Aden, with calls for an uprising against the government headquartered in Ma'ashiq Palace.
In a related context, the exchange rate of the US dollar has exceeded 2,521 Yemen ...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of... i riyals, while the Saudi riyal's selling price is nearing 665 Yemeni riyals. This has further impacted citizens' living conditions due to rising prices of essential goods.
It appears that Aden's electricity crisis will not end anytime soon, threatening to ignite a wave of angry protests at any moment as authorities continue to ignore citizens' basic demands.

[Garowe] al-Shabaab ... the personification of Somali state failure... snuffies have recaptured some areas previously secured by Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF) and other foreign forces in the Middle and Lower Shabelle regions, in Somalia.
Al-Shabaab has recently launched lethal operations mostly in areas where forces under the African Union ...a union consisting of 53 African states, most run by dictators of one flavor or another. The only all-African state not in the AU is Morocco. Established in 2002, the AU is the successor to the Organisation of African Unity (OAU), which was even less successful... Mission in Somalia (AMISOM), which later became African Union Transition Mission in Somalia (ATMIS) and now AUSSOM, have been withdrawn as part of the drawdown process.
Jacob Markson Oboth, Minister of Defence and Veteran Affairs, has confirmed that al-Shabaab has recaptured many areas. Oboth has informed his counterparts from countries contributing peacekeeping forces in Somalia that numbers now need to be increased if they are to encounter the fast gains being made by al-Shabaab.
"I want to inform you that al-Shabaab is recapturing many places which had previously been secured. There is an urgent need to counter the growing threats posed by al-Shabaab and reinforce ongoing stabilisation efforts in Somalia," Oboth said.
Oboth was speaking to his counterparts and commanders of peacekeeping forces in Somalia at the ongoing evaluation meeting in Kampala. Commanders and senior security delegates from Kenya, Æthiopia, Djibouti, Uganda, and Egypt are in Kampala for an evaluation meeting for the mission, which started in 2007.
Al-Shabaab has become more lethal ever since they ransacked the UPDF Base at Buulo-Mareer, Lower Shabelle region on May 26, 2023, where they left 54 Ugandan soldiers dead.
The base commander, Lt Col Edward Nyororo, was among the 54 killed soldiers, while others were captured alive.
UPDF, Kenya Defence Forces (KDF), and Burundi have been reduced in the last year since United Nations ...an organization conceived in the belief that we're just one big happy world, with the sort of results you'd expect from such nonsense... Security Council permanent member countries withdrew their funding at the end of 2021, claiming that AMISOM forces had outlived their purpose.
UPDF reduced its forces from more than 6,000 to around 3,000. Still, according to various commanders from Troops Contributing Countries(TCCs), a number that had been reduced needs to be increased to counter the lethal attacks launched by al-Shabaab.
Congress critters sitting on their arses doing nothing.

According to a Townhall piece, it was meant to be an Ask Me Anything interaction with voters going in to the debate this week on the hated Republican budget proposal.
Which is fascinating because nothing I saw before that gave the slightest indication that was the intention. I guess it’s one of those If You Know, You Know things, and I didn’t know.
[SAHARAREPORTERS] The Borno State Governor, Babagana Zulum, has raised a fresh alarm over the regrouping of Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... and Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Lions of Islam in the Tumbus areas of Lake Chad and the Mandara Hills within the Sambisa Forest in the state.
Governor Zulum lamented what he called a setback in military operations in the state, saying Boko Haram Lions of Islam were regrouping in the Tumbus water areas on the Lake Chad without resistance by the military to dislodge them.
The governor disclosed this in Maiduguri on Friday when the Minister of Defence, Badaru Abubakar; Chief of Defence Staff, Gen. Christopher Musa, and other top military commanders paid him a visit.
Zulum, who acknowledged the efforts of the military in combating the Boko Haram in Borno and the North-East, noted that there had been a resurgence of the Lions of Islam in certain areas, particularly around the Tumbus in Lake Chad and the Mandara Hills in Sambisa Forest.
He said, ''What we are facing now is, we do military exercises/operations, and after some time, we disengage. The Boko Haram and ISWAP members will again come and take over those areas that were hitherto regained.
''There was never a time since the insurgency started that operations were conducted on the shores of the Tumbus in the Lake Chad. And, it has been a breeding ground for the murderous Moslems. They can get money, livelihoods, and everything in that water.''
''So, there is a need for us to see how military operations should be conducted in the waterway because all the Lions of Islam that are operating in the Northwest, North Central, Northeast will return to the Sahel and Tumbus in the Lake Chad for their livelihoods. This is something that needs to be done.''
Zulum listed some of the challenges faced in the state as lack of military manpower covering the Timbuktu triangle, Tumbus, Mandara hills, and the porous Nigerian borders to Sahelian states.
''Manpower is very essential, while I was aware of the constraints of the Nigerian army, because right now, you are everywhere in Nigeria. The Northeast, Northwest and North Central as well as southern Nigeria. I'm aware of your limitations.
''But still considering the northeastern region, the Nigerian army should look into the possibility of sending more trained manpower. There is a difference between Boko Haram, ISWAP, and bandidos.
''ISWAP and Boko Haram are Lions of Islam getting support internationally, and looking at our mostly non-existent borders remain infiltrated through the Sahel, which is our major problem.
''If the Sahel is not secured, Nigeria will never be secured. So, there is a need for us to fortify the security situation in the Sahel with a view to ending the crisis in the entire nation.
''So, we need manpower, and in terms of military operations, the operation should be a continuous exercise,'' he said.
The governor appealed to the defence minister to deploy more track military tanks, MRAPS, and all corresponding ammunition to Borno for a successful operation.
''We need air support. I know the kind of constraints you face accessing fighter helicopters and others, but attack helicopters are very important in these areas, and drones are also very important.
''The last attack that happened in Wulgo, carried out by ISWAP and Boko Haram, a confirmed statement said it was carried out with the support of armed drones. They hit the MNJTF with drones.
''This is the time for the Nigerian military to rise again and procure sophisticated drones and anti-drone equipment so that we get rid of these problems.
''While you are working towards kinetic measures, you should consider the non-kinetic approach, which is very important. Borno State has, within the last three years, received more than 300,000 repentant Boko Haram fighters, and not all of them are fighters. Some of them are farmers,'' he said.
Zulum expressed optimism that the security situation in the state will improve very soon, while assuring every support and collaboration to the military to end the Boko Haram insurgency.
Speaking, Badaru assured that the Federal Government would provide more military support to deal with the security challenges in Borno and the North-East.
[TRT.GLOBAL] At least 12 people of Nigeria's Bokko Ghide community, including two vigilantes, were killed on Saturday by Boko Haram ... not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality... murderous Moslems in the Gwoza local government area of the northeastern Borno State, a local leader confirmed to Anadolu on Sunday.
Gwoza Emir Mohammed Timta, the traditional and Islamic leader of the area, confirmed the incident to Anadolu on Sunday morning.
While two local vigilantes were ambushed and killed along the Kirawa road under the Pulka district, ten other victims were civilians who went into the bush in search of firewood for cooking.
"Though we have buried the victims, others who sustained varying degrees of injuries are receiving medical treatment in Maiduguri," Timta said. "People are now scared to visit their farmlands, and it is time for land preparation ahead of rainfall."
Jay Hubbard 1h · Regarding Trump’s many “due process” controversies, part of the reason there’s confusion is that differing legal pathways exist from which to achieve deportation, all of which have different standards, and some of which aren’t subject to due process whatsoever.…
Continued I believe people are mixing the legal standards up or are unaware of them. I also believe the legacy media is demonstrating double standards in pretending these presidential powers aren’t (for the most part) lawful.
Take, for instance, the IIRIRA.
In 1996, congress specifically authorized the executive branch to conduct non-judicial deportations NOT SUBJECT TO DUE PROCESS. [a] While one might argue against this on ethical grounds, one cannot argue that the president lacks the authority. The Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 (IIRIRA) was passed by Bill Clinton [a], enforced by George W. Bush, and expanded by Barack Obama, with support from both political parties.
PER CONGRESSIONAL RECORDS:
“The expedited removal process, created by the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996, is codified in INA § 235(b)(1).
The statute permits the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to summarily remove aliens arriving at a designated U.S. port of entry (arriving aliens) WITHOUT FURTHER HEARING OR REVIEW if they are inadmissible either because they (1) lack valid entry documents, or (2) tried to procure their admission into the United States through fraud or misrepresentation. INA § 235(b)(1) also authorizes—but does not require—DHS to extend application of expedited removal to "certain other aliens" inadmissible on the same grounds if they (1) were not admitted or paroled into the United States by immigration authorities and (2) cannot establish at least two years' continuous physical presence in the United States at the time of apprehension.” [a]
To be clear, this wasn’t always the case. As the ACLU wrote back in the Obama administration:
“The deportation system has dramatically changed over the past 19 years – moving from a judicial system prior to 1996, where the vast majority of people facing deportation had immigration court hearings, to a system today of nonjudicial removals, where 75 percent of people removed do not see a judge before being expelled from the U.S. The numbers are staggering: in 1995, 1,400 immigrants were subject to nonjudicial removals, representing 3 percent of total deportations. By FY 2012 that number had sharply increased to 313,000 nonjudicial removals.” [b] So to reiterate, all the way back in 2014, the ACLU specifically cited that 75% of Obama’s deportees had NO DUE PROCESS.
[b] I’m outlining these complaints from the ACLU not necessarily to agree with them nor to disagree with them, but to demonstrate that this presidential power was well established prior to Trump. Unless you were deeply involved in following the ACLU’s advocacy, you likely weren’t aware anyone took issue with it. This - yet again - exposes the legacy media’s double standards. They were silent regarding Obama’s use of non-judicial removals, going so far as to let him classify his administration as “scandal free”[c], yet when Trump’s in office, non-judicial removals become a scandal.
Per the American Immigration Council:
“Individuals placed in expedited removal generally have no right to challenge their deportation in federal court, thanks to jurisdiction-stripping provisions in the 1996 law which created the process. …Individuals may only bring a lawsuit challenging their expedited removal order if they are a lawful permanent resident, or someone already determined to be a refugee or granted asylum, who has been wrongfully subject to expedited removal. In 2020, the Supreme Court upheld this law, finding that it did not violate the right to habeas corpus or due process. Expedited removal has become a bedrock of the United States’ processing of noncitizens, particularly at our southern border.” [d]
The law also made deportation eligibility retroactive and introduced penalties for overstaying visas, including bars on reentry for certain periods. It also made it more difficult for undocumented immigrants to adjust their status, even if they had family members who were US citizens. [e] I’m again pointing this out not to argue for or against it, but merely to demonstrate that these expanded authorities existed prior to Trump. This is not a power grab. His office was granted this authority by democratically elected legislators.
Up until now, I’ve been discussing the 1996 law which allowed expedited removal under Section 235 of the INA. That pivoted away from the usual removal proceedings which were governed under Section 240 of the INA. It’s Section 240 (the usual process) where suspected illegal aliens are afforded a hearing (due process) in front of an immigration judge. [f] If someone doesn’t qualify for expedited removal, only THEN are they entitled to that formal hearing.
That was the case until Trump named some groups “terrorist organizations” while invoking the Alien Enemies Act, however.
When Trump entered office the 2nd time, he designated several globally powerful gangs as terrorist organizations. These massive organized crime networks had been competing with governments around the world for control, often by forcing businesses to pay them “taxes”. They were guilty of human trafficking, drug trafficking, murder, rape, extortion, and racketeering.
This is worth pointing out since the Anti-Terrorist and Effective Death Penalty Act,” also passed in 1996, criminalized the act of providing material support or resources to terrorist organizations [g] and has been argued by the New York Law Review to have encroached on due process. Again, as is the theme of this editorial, I’m not noting this to agree or disagree, only to demonstrate that the power existed before Trump. It was a 1996 law, and formally designating someone as a terrorist means they legally have different entitlements.
As for the Alien Enemies Act? Here, too, exists an authority granted to the presidency by congress in 1798. “It allows the president to detain or deport the natives and citizens of an enemy nation. The law permits the president to target these immigrants WITHOUT A HEARING and based only on their country of birth or citizenship. Although the law was enacted to prevent foreign espionage and sabotage in wartime, it can be — and has been — wielded against immigrants.” [h]
CONCLUSION:
Whether violating the concept of due process concerns you or not, these ARE legal pathways toward deportation. Each case is different, where some were deported under the expedited removal standard, others deported under Section 240, and others deported under the Alien Enemies Act, but these legal pathways were all created by Congress. I won’t deny that the efficacy and morality of all laws are worth debating, but that’s different from legality.
Also, why wasn’t there a national debate on these laws while Biden, Obama, Bush, or Clinton were president? Why now? That they are becoming scandalous NOW despite being barely noticed in prior administrations is a testament to the legacy media’s political bias. It's argued that a rogue President is engaging in an unlawful power grab, but that’s simply false.
These laws existed prior to Trump. These laws were enforced prior to Trump. These powers were democratically granted to the executive branch by Congress. If you don’t like them, fine, petition Congress to change the law, but don’t falsely claim the President is acting unlawfully.

Lawfare is running amock at the federal level. Congress might as well be sleeping with the fishes. Much of what Trump is trying to do is being blocked with the Deep State. That is what is the actual "due process" amounts to nowadays, not the imaginary one.
#3
Lawfare uses any premise or pretense that can be twisted pretzel-like into seemingly illegal behavior headlines for the MSM and the gullible public. Its not the outcome, its the continuum, building like a crescendo into what seems a tidal-wave of illegal behavior. Russia, Russia, Russia was 4 years of smoke and fury, belying nothing, but neutering the first Trump administration in large part. Already, Impeachment has formed on Schumer's lips, proof positive of the danger they face in the months ahead.
This is redux, and its intent is to frustrate Trump ad nauseum, in the end hoping he might actually act, like Lincoln or FDR, and use Constitutional remedy to suspend or circumvent Habeus Corpus and incite real violence, which is already primed in much of the blue cities. The stakes couldn't be higher, as Trump thorough DOGE and now the Act Blue investigation, is striking at the heart of the entire demokrat party apparatus, its life blood money and power.
[Breitbart] The U.S. Department of State is warning tourists to be on the lookout, as cartel violence continues to spike in the busy beach resort area of Los Cabos. The violence not only includes shootings and targeted killings, but also style attacks on city buses where gunmen have been setting them on fire despite their being full of passengers.
The violence began earlier in the week with multiple killings throughout the Mexican state of Baja California. The incidents include targeted attacks on the police. The violence is linked to the ongoing turf war between rival factions of the Sinaloa cartel — mainly the Chapitos and Mayos.
In addition to the murders and shootings last week, groups of gunmen set fire to transit buses in the cities of La Paz and Los Cabos. Videos shared on social media captured one of the attacks, where three men can be seen throwing fuel inside the bus and lighting it on fire. Seconds later, passengers can be seen getting out of the bus.
The tactic has become common in the state of Sinaloa, where gunmen from both Los Chapitos and Los Mayos have been setting fire to businesses and vehicles believed to be tied to their rivals. The indiscriminate acts of arson and violence have claimed several innocent lives despite empty assurances by Mexico’s government that the region is safe.
By Friday afternoon, consular officials sent out security alerts telling U.S. tourists to be aware of the rising violence and to shelter in place should confrontations arise.

[IsraelTimes] New York City Mayor Eric Adams ...Hizonner da Mare of Noo Yawk. As a Manchurian candidate, Hizonner was all in favor of law and order and that kind of stuff. Once in office, a bunch of his friends found cushy jobs with the city, the windows kept getting broken, and Soros-funded DA Alvin Bragg remained right where he was. Most people comfort themselves with the thought that he's not Bill di Blasio but that's pretty small comfort with kids who actually go to school getting bumped off while standing in front of them. But he's a Dem, so the rubes will vote for him next election too, so he's what they deserve... says the NYPD is investigating festivities between anti-Israel demonstrators and counter-protesters outside the Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters in Brooklyn.
The incidents took place on Thursday when anti-Israel demonstrators gathered outside the synagogue at 770 Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights to rally against an unannounced visit by Israel’s far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
The synagogue is a revered site for the Chabad movement and is located in the heart of the community. Neighborhood organizers said the protesters chanted for the removal of "Zionists" and called for an intifada.
The demonstration in the Jewish neighborhood provoked widespread outrage. Anti-Israel protesters often hold vitriolic protests around the city but demonstrations at synagogues and in Jewish neighborhoods are rare.
Footage later emerged showing a group of Jews following an individual down a street, shouting at them and chanting "Death to Arabs" in Hebrew. Anti-Israel activists claimed that they had been assaulted.
Adams says in a statement that the protesters "surrounded the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters — a Jewish house of worship."
"Initial reports indicate that one female protester was isolated from her group, harassed by counter-protesters, and suffered injuries," Adams says on X. "In another incident, a second woman was subjected to vile threatening by counter-protesters."
The statement says the "NYPD is investigating these incidents" and calls on the women involved, and any others with information, to contact the NYPD.
"None of this is acceptable. In fact, it is despicable," Adams says. "We will not tolerate violence, trespassing, menacing, or threatening. Hate has no place in our city."
[IsraelTimes] PM claims Tehran tried to send ‘one or two airborne divisions’ to help the embattled Bashar al-Assad, says planes were intercepted by Israel and turned back around
Israeli warplanes last year intercepted Iranian aircraft headed toward Syria, preventing them from delivering troops meant to assist the country’s embattled president at the time, Bashir Pencilneck al-Assad Despoiler of Deraa... , Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Sunday.
The remarks in a speech gave a new glimpse into Israel’s thinking in the final days in power for Assad, a longtime enemy who was tossed by Islamist-led forces of Evil last December.
Speaking to a conference hosted by the Jewish News Syndicate in Jerusalem Netanyahu claimed that arch-rival Iran ...a theocratic Shiite state divided among the Medes, the Persians, and the (Arab) Elamites. Their economy is based on the production of oil and vitriol... wanted to save Assad after watching the Iranian-backed Hezbollah terror group in neighboring Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... suffer heavy losses in fighting with Israel.
"They had to rescue Assad," Netanyahu said, claiming that Iran wanted to send "one or two airborne divisions" to help the Syrian leader.
"We stopped that. We sent some F-16s to some Iranian planes that were making some routes to Damascus," he said. "They turned back."
He gave no further details.
In the days leading up to the fall of Assad, Israel had observed Tehran sending troops to bolster the Syrian dictator, and warned it against taking the opportunity to smuggle weapons across the border into Lebanon.
"We need to make sure that we are not threatened. We are a sovereign country and we will make sure that Iranian weapons are not smuggled to Hezbollah," then-IDF front man Daniel Hagari said at the time.
The final rebel offensive that toppled Assad broke out just days after a ceasefire came into effect between Israel and Hezbollah, bringing to a halt more than a year of fighting, including several months of all-out war.
The fighting in Lebanon meant that, in the months leading up to Assad’s ouster, Hezbollah withdrew its operatives from Syria, including the north, to focus on battling Israel. The rebels pointed to the terror group’s withdrawal from Syria as one of the reasons they faced little resistance as they captured city after city from Assad’s forces.
"We looked at the [ceasefire] agreement with Hezbollah and understood that this is the time to liberate out lands," a rebel commander told Israel’s Channel 12 at the time. "We will not let Hezbollah fight in our areas and we will not let the Iranians take root there."
Even with Assad gone, Israel has remained vigilant over Syria, distrustful of its new Islamist government led by President Ahmed al-Sharaa.
A day after the fall of the Assad regime, Israel sent its troops into a UN-patrolled buffer zone separating Israeli and Syrian forces on the strategic Golan Heights, and has kept them stationed there since.
It has described its presence in southern Syria’s buffer zone as a temporary and defensive measure, though Defense Minister Israel Katz has said that troops will remain deployed in the area "indefinitely."

[REGNUM] Recently, Burkina Faso's intelligence services uncovered a major plot against the country's leader, Ibrahim Traore. According to their data, the "engine" of the planned coup was to be former soldiers and officers of the Burkinabe army who had fled to Côte d'Ivoire and had not accepted Traore's power.
The thwarted coup is interesting not so much for the attempt to liquidate the country's transitional president (who, in terms of the number of assassination attempts he has survived, is gradually approaching Fidel Castro's record), but for its hidden motives.
In fact, the hunt for Traore is part of the struggle for the country's main resource - gold, in terms of production volumes of which Burkina Faso is considered the leader.
And both internal and external forces are involved in the matter.
A SLAP IN THE FACE TO THE FRENCH
Burkina Faso is one of the top five gold miners on the continent and produces, according to various estimates, from 70 to 90 tons of precious metals per year.
The gold mining industry accounts for a fifth of government revenue and about 75% of exports, making it a constant battleground for foreign powers.
Before the 2022 coup, most of the gold mining market was divided between Western players, with the largest assets controlled by British, French-Canadian and Australian firms.
France, although not actively operating mines directly (except for cooperation with Canada's Societe Semafo and Britain's Endeavour Mining), had extensive subcontracts to supply mining companies with goods and services. Players such as Bolloré, Total and Orange collaborated with almost all foreign firms.
In addition, Paris actively took advantage of the previous government of Roque Kaboré's focus on the Elysee Palace and had a virtual monopoly on services in the field of geological exploration.
The French were informed in advance about all the promising mining sites and could choose which sites to offer to competitors (through official Ouagadougou) and which to hold on to until better times.
Thus, even without having direct control over many mines, it was France that determined the vector of development of the gold mining industry in Burkina Faso.
However, after the military government led by Ibrahim Traore came to power, the influence of French business in the country was shaken.
The new authorities completely broke the old production chains, leaving French contractors out of work.
In addition, by the beginning of 2025, some major mines (including Boungou and Wahgnion, which Paris had long had its eye on) were nationalized, and the country's first refinery was founded.
Thanks to the latter, the Burkina Faso authorities were able to process gold ore at home without sending it abroad in its “raw” form.
By the way, the localization of refining production became another slap in the face for France: now its factories (through which gold mined by Canadians and the British in Burkina Faso passed) were less in demand.
The remaining foreign players in the country's gold market were forced to comply with the new rules in order to preserve their assets. However, as subsequent events showed, not everyone was ready to put up with the course of the Traore government.
ASSASSINATION FROM THE PAST
At the beginning of the outgoing week, an urgent news report was broadcast on central television in Burkina Faso.
The transitional government's authorized security minister, Mahamadou Sana, said that an attempted military coup had been foiled in the country. According to Sana, the conspirators were a group of current and former soldiers who worked together with "terrorist leaders" and were preparing an assassination attempt on Traore.
The news of the assassination attempt itself was not unexpected: over the past three years, the transitional leader has survived at least a dozen coups and about fifty assassination attempts (if the local press is to be believed). Of these, barely half have been reliably confirmed.
The foreign trail of the latest assassination attempt led to Côte d'Ivoire, considered one of France's last outposts in Africa. And so Burkina Faso public opinion quickly linked the failed rebellion with the revenge of foreign industrialists offended by the reforms.
They also remembered the first leader of the anti-French rebellion of 2022, the “black lieutenant colonel” Paul-Henri Sandago Damiba, whom Traoré and his supporters accused of secret ties to the Elysee Palace and removed a few months after the victory of the putschists.
After the defeat, Damimba fled to Togo, and from there (according to some sources) moved to Côte d'Ivoire, where he established contacts with Burkina Faso's émigré circles, including pro-French forces. With his return to the political scene, favorable prospects opened up for them.
Given that one of the points of Damimba's presidential program was the restructuring of the gold mining sector with tighter controls on foreign mine owners (but without revising the powers of contractors, which would have left part of the market under French control), he looked like a more advantageous party for the Elysee Palace than Traore, who had established himself in power.
In fact, the Elysee Palace was given a chance to hide the violent redistribution of the Burkina Faso gold market under the guise of an apparatus struggle within the anti-French junta.
BENEFIT FOR THE CHINESE
The obvious “French flair” of the exposed conspiracy hits the reputation of not only France, but also all Western players in the gold mining industry of Burkina Faso, prompting the Burkinabe intelligence services to take a closer look at them.
Against this backdrop, Chinese business, which until 2022 had almost no assets in the country’s gold market, feels extremely comfortable.
Now, Chinese giants (like Daqing SARL, which operates in the Central African Republic), taking advantage of the confusion of their competitors, are gradually looking at promising gold mining areas and promoting their vision of restructuring the industry.
Beijing's reputation as the "main partner" of African countries is also playing in its favor. Chinese companies have already firmly established themselves in the markets of other countries in the "anti-French belt" (Mali, Niger), where they enjoy the support of the transitional authorities.
Their full-fledged entry into the markets of Burkina Faso is, rather, a matter of time.

[Korrespondent] 22.01 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that the issue of Crimea's status is not part of the negotiations with the United States to end the war in Ukraine. He said this in an interview with CBS News.
Lavrov emphasized that this issue has supposedly already been resolved, and Russia, they say, is not negotiating the integrity of its territory.
21.39 Intense fighting continues in the Pokrovsky direction – Russian troops have stepped up their assaults, but continue to suffer significant losses. This was reported by DeepState analysts.
The most difficult situation remains in the areas of Elizavetovka, Tarasovka, Staraya Nikolaevka, Lisovka, Uspenovka, as well as in the areas of Shevchenko-Peschanoe and Kotlino-Udachnoye.
19.44 Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said that Moscow would agree to a ceasefire only if Western support for Ukraine ceased. The head of the Russian Foreign Ministry said this in an interview with the CBS News television channel.
The presenter recalled that Kyiv accepted the US proposal for a complete ceasefire on March 11, but Moscow put forward additional conditions.
"No, these are not preconditions," Lavrov replied. "These are lessons we have learned at least three times when we concluded agreements similar to the one we are discussing now," he added, referring to the preliminary ceasefire agreements in Minsk.
Lavrov again stated that in order to achieve a new ceasefire, the West must stop supplying weapons to Ukraine.
18:56 EU Commissioner for Defence and Space Andrius Kubilius is convinced that the ban on Ukraine's accession to NATO makes it easier for Russia to plan its next aggression. He stated this at Platform X.
"Russia demands "no NATO" for Ukraine not because it fears a NATO offensive against Russia from Ukrainian territory, but because it fears that NATO will defend Ukraine during the next Russian aggression. The demand for "no NATO" for Ukraine makes it easier for Russia to plan new aggression," the European Commissioner explained.
18:36 Fighters of the 12th special forces brigade of the Azov NGU captured three Russian soldiers in the Toretsk direction. This was reported by the press service of the unit.
Russian attack aircraft from the Toretsk direction "drove" into the defenders' captivity on scooters.
18:17 Since the beginning of the day, 69 combat clashes have already occurred on the front; fighting is still ongoing in three directions of the front, most of all in Pokrovsky.
17.32 On April 27, President Volodymyr Zelensky heard a report from Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrsky on the situation in specific areas of the front.
"Commander-in-Chief Alexander Syrsky reported on the situation at the front. The situation remains difficult in many areas. By the middle of this day alone, there have been almost 70 Russian assaults on our positions. The fighting continues. The occupier continues to attempt offensives. I am grateful to each brigade, to all our soldiers who are defending Ukrainian positions and demonstrating the resilience that Ukraine needs. Most of the fighting is in the Pokrovsk, Kramatorsk, Limansk and Kursk areas. Our military continues active defensive actions in certain areas of the Kursk and Belgorod regions," Zelensky noted.
15.19 Three people were killed in Konstantinovka as a result of another shelling by the Russian army on April 27. This was reported by the head of the Donetsk OVA Vadim Filashkin.
"New victims in Konstantinovka: three killed, four wounded," he noted.
14.00 Russia continues to recruit foreign mercenaries for the war against Ukraine. From April 2023 to the end of May 2024, more than 1,500 foreigners were recruited in Moscow. This was reported by the UK Ministry of Defence.
According to British intelligence, the largest number of volunteers came from South and East Asia (771 people), followed by the former Soviet republics (523 people) and African countries (72 people).
Analysts believe that recruitment of foreigners in Russia is unsystematic. Most volunteers agree to sign contracts for money and the prospect of receiving Russian citizenship.
13:43 The meeting between Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky and US leader Donald Trump at the funeral of Pope Francis had a special spirit that will inspire new ideas to end the war, Polish President Andrzej Duda said.
"It is in the interests of Poland and the Poles that this war ends with a just peace, which will also give us a guarantee of peace, so that we can truly develop peacefully, without fear of being attacked," he stressed.

[IsraelTimes] Foreign minister Sa’ar calls behavior shameful; Swiss Fencing Federation expresses ‘regret,’ vows to probe protest; Israeli team said hurt by display
The traditional response for poor sportsmanship is to strip the athlete/team of awards and suspend them from competition for a period of time commensurate with the level of insult.
Israel’s under-23 fencing team won a gold medal at the European Championships in Estonia on Saturday, but joy over the victory was quickly marred when the Swiss team they defeated turned their backs during the Israeli national anthem.
The protest drew condemnation from Foreign Minister Gideon Sa’ar, who panned the Swiss for “disrespectful behavior” and being sore losers.
The Swiss Fencing Federation said it would probe the incident.
Did they do it? Yes, all saw it and we have it on video, beamed to the entire world at that moment. What more can possibly be needed?
Israel’s team of Alon Sarid, Fyodor Khaperski, Yonatan Masika, and Itamar Tavor beat the Swiss 45–34 to take the gold medal. It was a remarkable achievement for the Israelis, who were ranked seventh at the start of the contest.
However, when the Israeli national anthem “Hatikvah” played, the Israeli team and bronze medalists turned sideways to face the flags, while the Swiss fencers — Yan Auri, Theo Broshar, Yonatan Fohriman, and Sven Vines — remained looking straight ahead.
Are you sure you’re Swiss? Those are Moslem manners you’re displaying.
Sarid said that though the teams shook hands before the contest, after the final ended “some avoided us,” in remarks quoted by the Ynet news site.
He said the Israeli team members was only made aware of the Swiss protest after the ceremony when they saw photos of the incident.
“It was very hurtful to see the attitude we received when we won,” Sarid said. “This is disrespecting us, the fencers, and disrespecting the country we represent.”
“Sports should bring people together, not divide them,” a representative of the Israel Fencing Association told the media.
“Respect!” wrote foreign minister Sa’ar on X of the Israeli team’s gold medal. “Congratulations to the Italian team for winning the bronze,” “Shame on the Swiss team for their disrespectful behaviour. You don’t know how to lose and behaved in a manner which is an embarrassment to you and the country you’re supposed to represent.”
The Foreign Ministry was in contact with Swiss authorities, leading the president of the Swiss Fencing Federation to express “regret” over the behavior of its team. In a statement, the federation said that the protest action was not raised before the contest and that it will look into the matter with team members when they return to the country.
The Foreign Ministry said it will continue to follow up on the matter to ensure that “appropriate steps” are taken.
Yael Arad, chairwoman of the Israeli Olympic Committee, called the Swiss team’s behavior “a provocation,” saying in a statement that it contradicted Olympic values.
“Their failure to respect sportsmanship speaks volumes about them as athletes and young people,” said Arad, the first Israeli to ever win an Olympic medal with her silver in judo in 1992. “I would expect them to set aside differences and show mutual respect, especially after such a decisive loss.”
Anti-Israel sentiment around the world has spiked following the October 7, 2023, invasion of southern Israel led by Palestinian terror group Hamas that killed 1,200 people, mostly civilians, and triggered the ongoing war in Gaza.
Israel’s fencing team has faced protests in the past. In May 2023, Iraq’s national fencing team pulled out of a match against Israel at the World Fencing Championship in Istanbul.

[GEO.TV] A building in southern Beirut was struck on Sunday, Reuters live footage showed, almost an hour after the Israeli army issued an evacuation order to residents of the area.
The Israeli military struck what it said was a Hezbollah precision missiles warehouse in Beirut’s southern suburbs on Sunday, after killing one of the Iran-backed terror group’s operatives in a dronezap in southern Leb ...home of the original Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade.... earlier in the day.
There were no immediate reports of casualties in the Beirut-area strike, which came after after the military warned residents to evacuate.
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz said in a joint statement that missiles stored in the Lebanese capital "posed a significant threat to Israel."
"Israel will not allow Hezbollah to grow stronger and pose any threat to it — anywhere in Lebanon," the two men said.
They stressed that Israel will not allow Beirut’s southern suburbs — historically a Hezbollah stronghold — to serve as a sanctuary for the terror group.
"The Lebanese government bears direct responsibility for preventing these threats," they warned.
Shortly thereafter, the Israel Defense Forces said in a statement: "The storage of missiles in this infrastructure site constitutes a blatant violation of the understandings between Israel and Lebanon, and poses a threat to the State of Israel and its civilians."
Lebanese President Joseph Aoun condemned the strike in Beirut, in a statement issued on his behalf.
He called on "the United States and La Belle France, as guarantors of the ceasefire agreement, to assume their responsibilities and compel Israel to halt its attacks immediately."
He also alleged that Israel was attempting to destabilize his country and warned that it would intensify tensions in the region.
It was only the third time that the IDF has carried out an attack in the Beirut area since a ceasefire in Lebanon went into effect in November 2024.
The previous attacks took place on March 28, when Israel also issued a warning after two rockets were fired from Lebanon at northern Israel, and on April 1, when an unannounced strike killed four people, including Hassan Bdair, a member of Hezbollah’s Unit 3900 and of the elite Quds Force of Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
In a post to X earlier Sunday, the IDF’s Arabic-language front man, Col. Avichay Adraee, published a map showing the location of the building, and called on civilians to evacuate at least 300 meters (984 feet) from it for their safety.
"To everyone present in the building marked in red as shown on the map and the buildings adjacent to it: You are present near facilities belonging to Hezbollah," he said.
According to Lebanese media, several small warning strikes were carried out in the area before fighter jets dropped heavier munitions to destroy the structure.
IDF DRONE KILLS HEZBOLLAH OPERATIVE IN SOUTHERN LEBANON
Earlier Sunday, the IDF killed a Hezbollah operative in a dronezap in southern Lebanon’s Halta, the military said.
The operative was involved in Hezbollah’s attempts to regroup and rearm, according to the IDF.
The military published footage of the strike.
Lebanon’s health ministry confirmed that an Israeli dronezap had killed one person. Local media said the man was killed while working on his chicken farm.
The November 2024 ceasefire largely ended more than a year of fighting, including some two months of open war, between Hezbollah and Israel.
The fighting started when the Iran-backed terror group opened fire on October 8, 2023, shooting rockets and drones at the Jewish state in support of Hamas ..not a terrorist organization, even though it kidnaps people, holds hostages, and tries to negotiate by executing them,... , which had attacked Israel from the Gazoo
...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. Strip in a shock invasion the previous day.
The ceasefire allows Israel to strike immediate threats, however, and near-daily strikes against Hezbollah operatives and their allies have continued.

Notice that there are no reports of "civilian" casualties - proving that Lebanese are, a lot, smarter than Gazans.
