Nasser threatened to destroy Israel in his speeches, created the Paleostine Liberation Organization, led the Arab side in the 1967 Six Day War against Israel, and imprisoned hundreds of Jews after Israel’s victory.
But in the 1970 recording — aired on Abdel Nasser’s son’s YouTube channel — he showed no interest in fighting Israel: "If someone wants to struggle — let them struggle, and if someone wants to fight — let them fight. But today the Iraqis are telling us — all of Paleostine from the river to the sea, or nothing."
He seemed to think that defeating Israel in battle was a pipe dream.
"If we want to achieve our goals, we must be realistic," he said to Qadaffy. "You are welcome to mobilize the forces, go to Baghdad and try to fight against Israel. We will stay away from this operation, leave us alone — we will choose a non-violent mostly peaceful and defeatist solution. I can live with that."

[IsraelTimes] The US Department of Education alleges that the University of Pennsylvania’s policy on transgender athletes violates federal law that prohibits discrimination based on sex in programs that receive federal funding.
The Education Department says in a statement that it has proposed a resolution agreement to the university under which the Ivy League school would issue a statement saying it will comply with federal law, transfer records and awards won by transgender athletes to athletes assigned female at birth, and issue a letter of apology to the female athletes.
The department says the university has 10 days to resolve or risk a referral to the US Justice Department for enforcement proceedings.
The Education Department does not immediately respond to a request for comment on what kind of enforcement actions it seeks. The university has no immediate comment.
The university, which made national headlines in 2022 when a transgender swimmer competed on its women’s team, has previously said it “has always followed NCAA and Ivy League policies regarding student participation on athletic teams,” and remains in full compliance with regulations.
Following US President Donald Trump’s executive order to ban transgender athletes from participating in female-only school sports, the NCAA — the governing body for US collegiate sports — updated its rules to limit competition in female-only competitions to athletes assigned female at birth.
Last month, Trump’s administration suspended $175 million in funding to the University of Pennsylvania over its transgender sports policies.
This month, the administration sued Maine over the same issue. Maine argues that federal law does not prohibit transgender girls in women’s sports.

The Department of Education on Monday announced that its Office for Civil Rights found the University of Pennsylvania had violated Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972 by allowing biological males to compete in women's sports and enter intimate women's facilities.
Acting Assistant Secretary for Civil Rights Craig Trainor said in a statement, "Little girls who look up to Riley Gaines and Paula Scanlan can find hope in today's action — the Trump Administration will not allow male athletes to invade female private spaces or compete in female categories. UPenn has a choice to make: do the right thing for its female students and come into full compliance with Title IX immediately or continue to advance an murderous Moslem political project that violates federal antidiscrimination law and puts UPenn's federal funding at risk."
The Office for Civil Rights issued the school a proposed Resolution Agreement to resolve the violations, which the school has 10 days to resolve or risk a referral to the Department of Justice.
Outlined in the agreement are requirements that the school issue a statement saying that it would comply with Title IX in athletic programs; restore the achievements, titles, records, and other accolades won by female athletes who had been defeated by biological males in Division I swim races; and send a letter to each female athlete who has her recognition restored apologizing "on behalf of the University for allowing her educational experience in athletics to be marred by sex discrimination."

The size of the Liberal government might not be known for some time and could depend on the westernmost province of British Columbia, where polls closed last.
The Liberals are leading or elected in 139 seats, followed by the Conservatives with 107, according to CBC.
Carney has promised a tough approach with Washington over its tariffs and said Canada will need to spend billions to reduce its reliance on the US. But the right-of-center Conservatives, who have called for change after more than nine years of Liberal rule, show unexpected strength.
The House has 343 seats and if Carney only captures a minority, he will have to negotiate with other parties to stay in power. Minority governments in Canada rarely last longer than 2-2.5 years.

[IsraelTimes] The United States has lost seven multi-million-dollar MQ-9 Reaper drones in the Yemen area since March 15, a US official says.
Washington launched the latest round of its air campaign against Yemen’s Houthis in mid-March, and MQ-9s can be used for both reconnaissance — a key aspect of US efforts to identify and target weaponry the rebels are using to attack shipping in the region — as well as strikes.
“There have been seven MQ-9s that have gone down since March 15,” the US official says on condition of anonymity, without specifying what has caused the loss of the drones, which cost around $30 million apiece.
The US Navy has meanwhile announced the loss of another piece of expensive military equipment: an F/A-18E warplane that fell off the USS Harry S. Truman aircraft carrier in an accident that injured one sailor.
A tractor that was towing the F/A-18E — a type of aircraft that cost more than $67 million in 2021 — also slipped off the ship into the sea.
“The F/A-18E was actively under tow in the hangar bay when the move crew lost control of the aircraft. The aircraft and tow tractor were lost overboard,” the Navy says in a statement.
The carrier and its other planes remain in action and the incident is under investigation, the Navy adds. No details of recovery work are released.
It is the second F/A-18 operating off the Truman to be lost in less than six months, after another was mistakenly shot down by the USS Gettysburg guided missile cruiser late last year in an incident that both pilots survived.
The Truman is one of two US aircraft carriers operating in the Middle East, where US forces have been striking the Houthis on a near-daily basis since March 15.

“There is no military solution to the Iranian nuclear problem. There is a diplomatic path to achieve it, but it is a narrow road,” he adds.
Barrot voices hope that the ongoing negotiations between Tehran and Washington on the issue would bear fruit, adding that France, Germany, and the United Kingdom are in “close contact” on the issue with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio.
The highest-level talks in years between long-time foes Washington and Tehran are targeting a new deal that would stop Iran developing nuclear weapons — an objective Tehran denies pursuing — in return for relief from sanctions.
US President Donald Trump pulled out of an earlier, multilateral agreement on Iran during his first term. The United States and Israel have repeatedly threatened Iran with military strikes to prevent Tehran from obtaining nuclear weapons.
“It goes without saying that upon the expiration of the Iranian nuclear deal… if European security interests are not guaranteed, we will not hesitate for a single second to reapply all the sanctions that were lifted 10 years ago,” Barrot warns.
Last week, Rubio urged the three European states to decide whether to trigger the “snapback” mechanism under the 2015 agreement, which would automatically reinstate UN sanctions on Iran over its non-compliance.
The option to use the mechanism expires in October.
A return of sanctions would have “devastating effects on the country’s economy. This is not what we want, and that is why I solemnly call on Iran to take the necessary decisions today to avoid the worst,” says Barrot.
Iran currently enriches uranium to 60 percent, far above the 3.67 percent limit imposed by the 2015 deal and a technical step away from the 90 percent threshold required for weapons-grade material.

Tensions boiled in the Brooklyn neighborhood of Crown Heights on Monday after videos showed Jews harassing pedestrians at an anti-Israel demonstration, and a call to protest that included threats against the Jewish community. The friction started in the US neighborhood, the home base of the Chabad-Lubavitch Hasidic movement, during a Thursday visit by far-right National Security Minister Itamar Ben Gvir.
Ben Gvir visited Chabad’s World Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway, a synagogue and revered site that is located in the heart of the Jewish community. Anti-Israel demonstrators gathered outside the synagogue after a call by the hardline anti-Israel activist group Within Our Lifetime. The group regularly calls for Israel’s destruction, has been linked to violent mostly peaceful hate crimes, and has caused chaos on the city’s streets since Hamas ..a regional Iranian catspaw,... ’s October 2023 onslaught.
"He’s being hosted at 770 Eastern Parkway by the racist Zionist Lubavitch sect — yes, the same place where tunnels were uncovered," group leader Nerdeen Kiswani said on X. A rogue group of students dug out a space near the synagogue last year, part of an unauthorized attempt to expand the site. The incident gave rise to a wave of antisemitic conspiracies.
Kiswani later said that demonstrators "are being attacked by racist Lubavitchers."
"This is a pogrom," she said, referring to the historical deadly persecution of Jews in Europe.
Videos from the scene showed the two sides shouting at each other, with police in the middle.
The protest at the holy site drew outrage from local and politicians.
Yaacov Behrman, a Chabad community leader, said on X that the protesters gathered at "the very heart of this heavily populated Jewish neighborhood — spewing hateful, inflammatory rhetoric at innocent passersby." Behrman said the chants included "We don’t want no Zionists here," "We don’t want no two states, we want all of it," and "Resistance® is justified."
Rep. Elise Stefanik of New York said: "The heinous violence last night outside the Chabad-Lubavitch world headquarters in Brooklyn is horrifying and unacceptable."
"I am calling for an immediate federal investigation into these dangerous organizations and their funding networks. Jewish Americans must never feel unsafe in their own communities," she said.
Anti-Israel protesters have rarely held demonstrations in Orthodox neighborhoods in New York. A demonstration in February in Boro Park was also vitriolic and provoked widespread condemnation from city leaders. Past protests outside synagogues have also touched a nerve with local Jews.
The NYPD told The Times of Israel that six individuals were taken into custody at the protest. Five were issued summonses and one, a man from New Jersey, was charged with assault, criminal mischief and harassment.
Later, videos emerged showing a group of Jews following a woman down a street, shouting and chanting "Death to Arabs" in Hebrew. Some of the demonstrators kicked at the woman and one threw a traffic cone at her while a police officer escorted her down a street. Other images showed a different woman in a keffiyeh with a bloodied face.
The former woman claimed in an News Agency that Dare Not be Named interview that she hadn’t been part of the anti-Israel protest and that she wore a scarf over her face to not be filmed. She asserted that the group threatened to rape her and that she had feared for her life and now fears to walk around the neighborhood.

Adams said in a statement that the protesters "surrounded the Chabad Lubavitch World Headquarters — a Jewish house of worship."
"Initial reports indicate that one female protester was isolated from her group, harassed by counter-protesters, and suffered injuries," Adams said in a statement. "In another incident, a second woman was subjected to vile threatening by counter-protesters."
The statement said the "NYPD is investigating these incidents."
"None of this is acceptable. In fact, it is despicable," Adams said. "We will not tolerate violence, trespassing, menacing, or threatening. Hate has no place in our city."
On Monday, calls circulated on social media for protests against the Crown Heights Jewish community.
A group called the Bronx Paleostine Solidarity Committee posted threats against the community on social media.
"Waiting for the sleeping giant that is Caribbean Brooklyn, who have long suffered abuse and oppression at the hands of the racist Zionist Chabad Lubavitch to rise up against them," the post said.
"Black people in Brooklyn are violent mostly peacefully exploited via rents to then feed their genocidal land grabs in Paleostine," it said, referring to the antisemitic "Jewish landlords" trope.
"What would happen if Carribean Brooklyn brought that vybz kartel Barclays energy with ferocity and tore down these fucking monsters!?" it said.
A follow-up post said: "Y’all will not eat off Black people forever."
Another post said: "Crown Heights run it back."
"We will flood the streets of Crown’s Heights to inform them Zionism is not welcome here," it said.
The post called for a protest starting at the Barclays Center, around an hour’s walk from 770.
Local media reported a heavy police presence in the area ahead of the demonstration.
A Chabad spokesperson, Rabbi Motti Seligson, condemned both sides in a statement.
"The violent mostly peaceful provocateurs who called for the genocide of Jews in support of holy warriors and terrorism — outside a synagogue, in a Jewish neighborhood, where some of the worst antisemitic violence in American history was perpetrated, and where many residents share deep bonds with the victims of Oct 7 — did so in order to intimidate, provoke, and instill fear," Seligson said on X. "We condemn the crude language and violence of the small breakaway group of young people; such actions are entirely unacceptable and wholly antithetical to the Torah’s values. The fact that a possibly uninvolved bystander got pulled into the melee further underscores the point."
The leadership of 770 urged students to stay away from the protest, releasing a letter that said: "You must not be present at the demonstration under any circumstances, and certainly must not, Heaven forbid, be drawn into any confrontations."
"It is important to remember that there are deliberate efforts to provoke members of our community into disturbances in order to record incidents and incite against us," the letter said, according to the local Collive news site. "We must distance ourselves completely and remain focused on our true mission—the study of Torah."
The tensions in the neighborhood and accusations of a pogrom by Jews were inflammatory because of race riots against the Jewish community in Crown Heights in 1991 that killed two people. The riots were widely described as an anti-Jewish pogrom.

A Swedish court sentenced four teenagers to prison on Monday for their involvement in a shooting attack that targeted an office of Israeli defense contractor Elbit Systems in Gothenburg last year.
A 13-year-old boy opened fire on the entrance to the firm’s office on October 10, 2024.
He was arrested shortly after but was not charged since he was below Sweden’s age of criminal responsibility of 15.
No one was injured in the shooting in Sweden’s second-largest city. The verdict did not mention any motive for the attack.
However,

One 19-year-old was handed a five-year prison sentence for "involving a minor in a crime," as well as aiding a weapons offense and aiding an unlawful threat.
Another 19-year-old was also given a five-year sentence, and a third was given four years and 11 months.
A 15-year-old boy was sentenced to a year and eight months of juvenile detention.
According to the prosecution, the identity of the criminal mastermind of the shooting was still unknown, the court said in its ruling.
In June of last year, police said they had found a "suspected explosive object" outside the same Elbit offices in Gothenburg, later jailing three suspects in connection to the attempted attack.
Two insulated flasks packed with plastic explosives were found outside the offices of Elbit Systems on June 4.

[Rudaw] An unidentified drone carrying explosives targeted Peshmerga forces in the Deraluk subdistrict of Duhok province on Monday, injuring three personnel, local sources told Rudaw.
"Yesterday, a Peshmerga force was deployed at a new position near Balave village. At 3pm today, a drone fell on that Peshmerga position; we don't know what damages occurred," Faiq Balavayi, a resident of Balave village in Amedi district’s Deraluk, told Rudaw on Monday.
A source from Amedi’s health directorate told Rudaw on condition of anonymity that three Peshmerga personnel were affected by the incident and transferred to the city’s main hospital.
"Three maimed Peshmerga were transported to our hospital. All three are in stable, pH balanced condition and have received initial treatment. One of them will remain here for treatment, while the other two maimed will be transferred to Duhok, but the condition of all three is stable," they said.
Rudaw's correspondent on the ground reported that two of the Peshmerga that were hospitalized due to physical injuries while the third was experiencing psychological destress.
Kamaran Osman, a member of the US-based Community Peacemaker Teams (CPT), told Rudaw on Monday that the attack occurred while "Peshmerga forces were setting up a military checkpoint" in Balave.

As many as 629 Indians, including 13 diplomats and officials, have returned from Pakistan through the international border crossing located in Punjab.

Security Forces Narrow In On Pahalgam Terrorists 'Four Times' In South Kashmir
[OneIndia] Security forces have located the Pahalgam attackers "at least four times" at various locations over the past five days, coming "very close" to cornering them in the forests of South Kashmir - and, on one occasion, even exchanging fire with them, The Indian Express reported.
According to sources, the terrorists were tracked using information from local residents, intelligence inputs, and combing operations.
"It's a cat and mouse game. There have been instances where they have been visibly located. But by the time they could be engaged, they had escaped. The forests are extremely dense, making it difficult to pursue them even after spotting them. However, we are confident we will capture them; it is only a matter of days," an officer from the military establishment told the newspaper.
The Army, in coordination with Central Armed Police Forces and the Jammu and Kashmir Police, has been conducting cordon and search operations in the forests surrounding Pahalgam in pursuit of the four terrorists - including two from Pakistan - responsible for the killing of 26 people at Baisaran meadow on 21 April.
Sources indicated that the terrorists were first sighted near Hapat Nar village in Pahalgam tehsil, Anantnag, but managed to escape by exploiting the dense terrain.
Subsequently, they were reportedly spotted in the forests of Kulgam, where a brief exchange of fire occurred with security forces before they fled once more.
The group was later located near the Tral ridge and then in Kokernag, where they are currently believed to be operating.
Sources said the manhunt has been complicated by the terrorists' extreme caution in securing supplies.
"Typically, terrorists need to arrange for food, which often draws them to villages. At times, they use local contacts to bring supplies to them in the forests, generating human intelligence that gives security forces an opportunity to act. However, these individuals are operating with great care," said an officer.
"We are aware of an incident where they entered a house at dinner time, seized food, and fled. By the time security forces were alerted and arrived, significant time had passed, allowing the terrorists to escape," he added.
Another complication, sources mentioned, is the lighter snowfall in the Kishtwar range this season.
"This provides the terrorists with the opportunity to cross towards the Jammu side, where the forests are denser and the terrain more challenging. They have been using the Kishtwar range to manoeuvre, but we believe they are still within South Kashmir," the officer said.
"There is a 'front door' to the Kashmir side and a 'back door' leading towards Jammu. Recently, foreign terrorists have increasingly been infiltrating and operating via the Jammu side. Our counter-infiltration grid is not as robust there compared to North Kashmir," he noted.
Security forces remain optimistic that the terrorists will eventually make a mistake and be neutralised. For instance, sources revealed that the attackers took two mobile phones from the tourists they killed at Baisaran.
"It is anticipated that these phones may be used to establish communication locally or across the border. Our technical intelligence network is closely monitoring these devices for potential leads," they said.
Meanwhile, the counter-infiltration grid on both the Jammu and Kashmir sides has been strengthened, and border forces placed on high alert to prevent the terrorists from escaping across.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police are also interrogating suspected overground workers linked to terror outfits in South Kashmir to gather intelligence and ascertain whether additional individuals were involved in the attack.
The investigation is focusing on the logistical support the terrorists may have received in planning and executing the assault.
Additionally, the YouTube accounts of notable journalists including Muneeb Farooq, Umar Cheema, Asma Shirazi, and Irshad Bhatti were also banned.
Other affected channels include Uzair Cricket, The Pakistan Reference, Razi Naama, and Samaa Sports.
Collectively, these channels had amassed 63 million subscribers.
Government sources stated that the banned channels were circulating provocative and communally charged content, as well as false narratives and misinformation aimed at India, its armed forces, and security agencies.
Sources indicate that this move forms part of broader defence cooperation between the two nations. In addition to Karachi, up to six Turkish C-130 aircraft have reportedly landed at a military base in Islamabad, underlining Turkey's backing of Pakistan, particularly as Pakistan struggles to manage growing challenges along its international borders.
Both Turkish and Pakistani sources have confirmed the transfer of military cargo, although precise details of the shipments have not been disclosed. Significantly, Turkey is standing by Pakistan at a time of heightened regional instability, especially in the aftermath of the Pahalgam terror attack and the renewed conflict between India and Pakistan over Kashmir.
Turkey's military assistance complements similar support from China, which has reportedly supplied drones to enhance Pakistan's defensive capabilities. This strategic collaboration underscores the strengthening defence ties among Turkey, Pakistan, and China. Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has vowed vengeance. In a rally, he said, "I say to the whole world: India will identify, track and punish every terrorist and their backers." The backers are, of course, Pakistain's intelligence and military apparatus.
Both countries have ordered visa holders from the other to leave immediately. Both sides have expelled diplomats, but there hasn't been an official break in diplomatic relations. Pakistain had suspended all trade with India and put Pak airspace off limits to Indian aircraft.
The nightly "Beating Retreat" ceremony at the Attari-Wagah border crossing is supposed to end with the gate up and a handshake. That has been suspended.

[IsraelTimes] In November, US President Donald Trump thought all the hostages remaining in Gaza were dead, says Strategic Affairs Minister Ron Dermer, speaking at the Jewish News Syndicate conference in Jerusalem.
“I corrected him and I said, no, there are 51 who are alive,” recounts Dermer, who says the meeting took place at Trump’s Mar-A-Lago resort in Florida.
Israel is spending a significant amount of time and energy discussing plans for the “day after” Hamas, says Dermer: “Just because Israel doesn’t put out a plan every five minutes doesn’t mean we’re not dealing with it.”
Israel is in the “back stretch” of the war against Hamas, he says, adding that “we need to get to the home stretch, and we need to finish this war by winning this war.”
A year from now, he predicts, “the seven-front war that began on October 7 will be over. Israel will have won. And I think you will see many peace agreements, either that have been forged, or will be forged in the coming years of President Trump’s presidency.”
“The key to that is victory,” he stresses.
In order to secure that victory over the long term, Israel must focus on the deradicalization of Palestinian society, Dermer argues.
“We should be magnanimous in victory, then link the development of Gaza to the deradicalization,” says Dermer.
He points at Saudi Arabia as an example of a society that is moving away from radicalism: “Saudi Arabia today has much greater degrees of freedom in its society. It’s not a democracy by any stretch. But look at the status of women in Saudi Arabia compared to what it was once.”
Speaking about the security challenges on the northern border, Dermer says that Israel did not know that Syrian President Bashar Al-Assad was going to fall, and repeats Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s revelation that Israel prevented Iranian reinforcements from arriving.
He also pledges that Israel will continue operating in Lebanon, despite an ongoing ceasefire.
“We’re going to continue to enforce the deal so that Hezbollah cannot rearm itself,” he says.

[Weatherboy] A giant rocket is scheduled to be launched along the U.S. East Coast this evening, providing residents from Florida to New England with the opportunity of seeing an Amazon mission unfold with the naked eye. United Launch Alliance (ULA) is scheduled to lift-off their Atlas 5 rocket with a batch of 27 of Amazon’s Project Kuiper internet satellites. These are the first production satellites that will make up Amazon’s satellite internet megaconstellation which will ultimately include 3,236 satellites. Amazon hopes to compete with SpaceX’s Starlink satellite-based internet service with these new rockets.
The launch is scheduled to occur at or after 7 pm this evening from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station on the central coast of Florida. After lift-off, the rocket will travel north and east along the U.S. East Coast, giving those looking off into the eastern sky the opportunity to see the rocket accelerate into space. The launch window is set from 7-9 pm, which means the rocket can launch at any time within that window.
ULA is flying its Atlas 5 in the 551 configuration, which features five solid rocket boosters and a medium-length payload fairing. ULA had initially tried to launch its rocket on April 9 but that attempt was scrubbed due to poor weather.
As the rocket heads north and east off the Florida coast, boosters will be jettisoned from the rocket, giving those along the southeast coast an interesting view. The rocket will be without boosters by the time it passes off the North Carolina coast, but even those in the Mid Atlantic and southeastern New England would be able to see the rocket with high pressure there providing for good viewing conditions.
Kuiper Systems LLC, also known as Project Kuiper, is a subsidiary of Amazon that was established in 2019 to deploy a large satellite internet constellation to provide low-latency broadband connectivity. The name Kuiper was a company codename for the project inspired by the Kuiper belt. The Kuiper Belt is a region beyond Neptune’s orbit, filled with icy bodies, dwarf planets, and other small objects. It’s considered a remnant of the solar system’s formation and is thought to be a source of comets. The Kuiper Belt is roughly shaped like a disk or doughnut, with its inner edge starting at Neptune’s orbit and extending outward.
Amazon’s $10 billion plans to establish this internet network includes 80 launches like today’s. The cities, including New York, Chicago and Boston, have established laws protecting migrants amid ICE deportation efforts going after people who came here illegally.
The issue burst back into the forefront with the arrest of a Wisconsin judge was charged with helping an undocumented immigrant who was in her courtroom avoid arrest.
The order directs the Justice Department and the Department of Homeland Security to identify jurisdictions that aren't cooperating with the feds as they carry out law enforcement operations as part of Trump's mass deportation campaign.
'It's quite simple,' White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said at the White House on Monday.
'Obey the law, respect the law, and don't obstruct federal immigration officials and law enforcement officials when they are simply trying to remove public safety threats from our nation's communities.'
Once the agencies identify the 'sanctuary cities,' cabinet secretaries are to tabulate how much federal aid they get.
For those that 'remain' sanctuary jurisdictions, AG Pam Bondi and Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem then 'shall pursue all necessary legal remedies and enforcement measures to end these violations and bring such jurisdictions into compliance with the laws of the United States.'
The agencies also 'shall identify and take appropriate action to stop the enforcement of State and local laws, regulations, policies, and practices favoring aliens over any groups of American citizens that are unlawful, preempted by Federal law, or otherwise unenforceable.'
Efforts to strip federal funding are certain to provoke a court challenge. Many of Trump's 140 executive orders from his first 100 days are already facing legal challenges.
Another order signed by Trump on Monday requires truck drivers to speak English and pass literacy tests.
'Proficiency in English ... should be a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers,' according to the order.
'They should be able to read and understand traffic signs, communicate with traffic safety, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station officers. Drivers need to provide feedback to their employers and customers and receive related directions in English. This is common sense.'

'The job here is to enforce the federal civil rights laws, not woke ideology.'
She did admit that she will have to hire a lot of people and fast, or 'we're going to run out of attorneys.'
Over 100 lawyers are expected to accept what Dhillon describes as a 'generous severance package that pays them for several months while they do nothing.'
Dhillon also plans to stop the Biden administration's plan to pursue cases in support of transgender prison inmates.
'The prior administration's arguments in transgender inmate cases were based on junk science,' Dhillon said.
'The prior administration's nonsensical reading of the Americans With Disabilities Act was an affront to the very people the statute intended to protect.'
Trump announced a 'proud new chapter' of the Justice Department that would end the 'weaponization' of government in a speech in March that revisited his old wounds and allowed him to gloat.
'We are turning the page on four long years of corruption, weaponization and surrender to violent criminals and we are restoring fair, equal and impartial justice under the law,' Trump said, standing before the seal of the Department of Justice.

'They really don't want you to miss it,' CNN anchor Jake Tapper said before launching into a commentary dripping with sarcasm over the signs.
'They subtly and tastefully decked the White House north lawn with dozens of yard signs featuring photos of people that the Trump administration claims are in the country illegally.
'Each poster staying "Arrested" and listing the alleged offense with which they have been charged.
The list of names included illegals arrested for heinous crimes such as rape, murder, the sexual assault of children, and dealing drugs.
However, because names were not listed, CNN claimed it could not verify the details - prompting their decision to blur the faces.
'CNN is working to confirms their identities and if there are actual allegations against these people, until then we are blurring their identities,' Tapper went on.
The network, along with MSNBC which also blurred the signs, was quick to be ridiculed for its actions.
For many viewers, it was a damning visual with the White House putting the accused front and center, while major media outlets literally blurred them out.
'This is a win-win. For the White House it shows they are protecting America against an invasion of foreign terrorists. And the media blurring out the images shows inconclusively that the left doesn't give a damn about Americans,' concluded one user on X.
Another slammed both CNN and MSNBC for what they called partisan bias:.

MYRTLE BEACH, S.C. — Nearly a dozen people were injured and one killed in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, during a weekend shooting involving an officer, according to police.
Police said just before midnight Saturday, officers with the Myrtle Beach Police Department saw a disturbance involving multiple individuals in the 900 block of North Ocean Boulevard.

[FoxNews] Assembly Bill 379 seeks to align the penalties for sex traffickers with the consumers
A California human trafficking bill to combat child sex trafficking is being gutted with the reluctant agreement of the bill’s author to remove a provision that targets consumers in an effort to get the legislation passed.
State Assemblywoman Maggy Krell, a Democrat, agreed to remove a clause from Assembly Bill 379 that states buyers of 16 and 17-year-olds for sex would face felony charges, leaving the solicitation of those minors by adults to be treated as a misdemeanor.
"In order to get a hearing on the bill, we were forced to remove the piece of the bill that ensures the crime of purchasing a minor for sex applies in all cases where the victim is under the age of 18," Krell told Fox News Digital.
"I wholeheartedly disagree with that amendment," she added. "This has been my life’s work and I will continue to partner with sex trafficking survivors and law enforcement to ensure all minors are protected from the horrors of sex trafficking."
Krell noted that the bill still criminalizes "the creeps who are loitering to buy teenagers for sex and sets up a fund to help victims. Those will be powerful tools in the fight against sex trafficking — it’s a good start."
California Assembly Republicans quickly criticized Democrats over the change.
"Why are some @AssemblyDems planning to cut felony charges for adults who buy 16- and 17-year-olds for sex?," California Assembly Republicans posted on X. "There are no excuses. Protect the kids. Not the predators."
Earlier, media reports stated that lawmakers wanted to hold off on the bill and possibly hold information hearings on the issue in the fall.
The bill came together after older teens were left out of a state law that went into effect this year that makes it a felony to purchase a child, ages 15 and younger for sex. Last year, California State Sen. Shannon Grove authored a bill that made it illegal to buy minors for sex, but it excluded 16 and 17 year-olds.

I thought the part where they said lawmakers "....possibly hold information hearings on the issue...." was spectacularly stupid. There's *nothing* to hold "information hearings" on--sex trafficking is a scourge and those who engage in it should be prosecuted, period. Anything to discuss beyond that is just wasting time.

Trump will sign an "order directing the Department of Transportation to include English literacy tests for our truckers. This is a big problem in the trucking community," Leavitt said on Monday afternoon during a press conference with new members of the media. The press conference was separate from a White House press briefing earlier Monday morning.
Trump is expected to sign the executive order late Monday afternoon, Leavitt said.
"You might not know, but there's a lot of communication problems between truckers on the road with federal officials and local officials, as well, which obviously is a public safety risk," Leavitt continued. "So we're going to ensure that our truckers, who are the backbone of our economy, are all able to speak English. That's a very commonsense policy."
The order directs Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy "to rescind guidance that watered down the law requiring English proficiency for commercial drivers," and to "carry out additional administrative, regulatory, or enforcement actions to improve the working conditions of America’s truck drivers," according to details provided to Fox News Digital by a White House official.
"President Trump believes that English is a non-negotiable safety requirement for professional drivers, as they should be able to read and understand traffic signs; communicate with traffic safety officers, border patrol, agricultural checkpoints, and cargo weight-limit station personnel; and provide and receive feedback and directions in English," the White House official shared.
Truckers who are unable to prove they are proficient in English will be "placed out-of-service, enhancing roadway safety," according to the White House.
Fox News' Will Cain reported earlier in April on "The Will Cain Show" that trucking experts reported that there has been an influx of foreign-born truckers in recent years.
Cain, citing experts, reported that former President Barack Obama's administration in 2016 stopped an English requirement for drivers from being enforced, while the Biden-Harris administration in 2024 promoted an initiative that increased truck driving training opportunities for refugees, which has increased the number of foreign-born truck drivers operating in the U.S.
Trump's anticipated executive order comes after he lauded truckers during the coronavirus pandemic in 2020, under his first administration, for their work delivering goods to stores as the nation locked down.

[DAILYWIRE] On Monday, a House Democrat introduced seven articles of impeachment against President Donald Trump, kicking off a bid that has virtually no chance of succeeding in the Republican-led Congress.
The impeachment resolution from Rep. Shri Thanedar (D-MI) accuses Trump of ''high crimes and misdemeanors'' over alleged constitutional violations related to taxpayer funds, deportations, tariffs, the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) effort led by Elon Musk, retaliation against the press, and others.
''Donald Trump has repeatedly demonstrated that he is unfit to serve as President and represents a clear and present danger to our nation's constitution and our democracy,'' Thanedar said in a statement. ''His unlawful actions have subverted the justice system, violated the separation of powers, and placed personal power and self-interest above public service. We cannot wait for more damage to be done. Congress must act.''
In a video posted on social media, Thanedar claimed the ''final straw'' was Trump defying a Supreme Court ruling that the government must ''facilitate'' the return of Kilmar Abrego Garcia, an illegal immigrant deported to his home country of El Salvador.
The announcement came hours after Michigan state Rep. Donavan McKinney launched a 2026 primary campaign for the Detroit-area district against Thanedar, a 70-year-old Indian immigrant serving his second term in the House. McKinney joins former state Sen.
