St. Louis seeking to boost population with Afghan refugees
ST. LOUIS (AP) — Inamullah Niazai sits on the front porch step of his red-brick St. Louis home and smiles at the bustle of activity around him — his mother and father chatting in the front yard, his two young daughters munching chocolate ice cream bars.

"Anything is possible here," Niazai, 23, said. "We are so lucky that my family can be here, together."

An aggressive effort in St. Louis is trying to lure Afghan refugees like Niazai. About 600 have arrived so far and another 750 are expected later this year.

Civic leaders are hopeful that over the next few years, thousands more will decide to relocate to the Midwestern city, helping to offset seven decades of population loss and rejuvenate urban neighborhoods — just as the arrival of Bosnian refugees did three decades ago.

It’s been nearly nine months since the Afghan capital of Kabul was ceded to the Taliban. Since last summer, more than 76,000 Afghan refugees have relocated to the U.S. While California and Texas have taken in most of the displaced Afghans, many will eventually go elsewhere.

#4  St. Louis has lost well over 2/3 of its population since I was born there in 1949. A series of really horrible politicians, even by current standards, wrecked what was a vibrant and beautiful city.

They COULD try to attract people by improving the schools and throwing criminals in jail. But apparently that solution has never occurred to anyone.

Pro-Kremlin separatists put up Russian road signs in Mariupol
[NYP] Pro-Moscow separatists were pictured this week taking down Ukrainian and English road signs outside the besieged city of Mariupol — and replacing them with Russian ones.

The Ministry of Transport of the Donetsk People’s Republic (DNR) — a Russia-backed breakaway state in eastern Ukraine — said in a statement Thursday that it has been changing signage in "liberated cities" in the contested region, where some of the fiercest fighting is taking place.

The agency released photos of workers in orange vests taking down and carrying away a sign in Ukrainian and English that used to greet motorists entering the now-leveled city of Mariupol.

This Ukrainian professor is teaching his class remotely ‐ from the front lines of war
[NYP] Ukrainian professor Fedir Shandor went viral this week, after a photo on social media showed him teaching remotely while in full battle dress with a rifle slung from his shoulder.

"We are fighting for an educated nation. If I did not give lectures, it would be a sin," Shandor said in a statement issued by Uzhhorod National University, where he teaches classes in tourism and hospitality.

The photo — taken by fellow soldier Viktor Shchaedi — shows the professor instructing students via video chat from inside a trench protected by sandbags.

With his helmet on and an AK-103 rifle at his side, he holds his phone in a bandaged hand, holding a notebook open with his other, the photo shows.

"I have been in the army for 70 days," Shandor said, adding he enlisted soon after the Russian invasion began in February.

In that time, he said, he’s held classes at 8 a.m. every Monday and Tuesday.

CIA Analyst Comments on Logistics in the Ukrainian Russian Conflict
[Foreign Policy Research Institute] After six weeks of combat, where is the Russo-Ukrainian War going? Modern technology both facilitates and hampers the answer to that question. Every day, this war is evaluated from every angle and perspective, but modern technology provides only a soda-straw view of the war’s entire canvas. This article will try to discern that larger canvas of the war, including a focus on casualties, information operations and morale, and logistics to see how they and the tactical correlation of forces may influence several possible strategic outcomes.

#2  Truth is, Russia has always sucked at logistics. In the days of the USSR, massive amounts of food 'got lost' or spoiled because it couldn't get to where it needed to be. Part of that is caused by lack of transport, part of it is the natural xenophobia Russians have towards anybody "not from around here".

Belarus sentences dissident's girlfriend to six years in prison for..... 'social hatred'
[Aljazeera] A Belarusian court sentenced Sofia Sapega, the girlfriend of a dissident arrested after their commercial flight was forced to land in Belarus last year, to six years in prison on Friday for inciting social hatred, according to the Viasna Human Rights Center.

The 24-year-old Russian citizen was flying with her boyfriend Roman Protasevich, a dissident blogger critical of Belarusian leader Alexander Lukashenko, on a Ryanair flight from Athens, Greece, to Vilnius, Lithuania, in May 2021 when it was diverted to Minsk by Belarusian authorities.

Belarus said at the time it had ordered the plane to land after an anonymous tip-off that there was a bomb on board.

The bomb threat turned out to be false, and Protasevich and Sapega were immediately arrested.

The diversion of a commercial flight to arrest the pair prompted international outrage and urged the European Union and United States to impose more sanctions against Belarus.

Who's Up For An "Office Of Environmental Justice" In The DOJ?
[COVE] This would be the time I usually write "so, when’s AG Garland going to give up his own fossil fueled travel and make his life carbon neutral? How about the operations of the DOJ?" But, this is actually rather dangerous, as they are weaponizing the climate cult via the Department Of Justice.

This is using the power of the federal justice department to go after any who engage in Wrongthink on ’climate change’. This is the logical (sic) extension of what the Cult of Climastrology has been working towards, having the federal government threaten non-adherents with investigation and prosecution, and then prosecution. It’s meant to scare people, to cow them, make them be quiet, make them Comply. Using the federal government as an authoritarian entity. Creating Green Shirts with prosecutorial powers.

#2  Nazi Oaks: The Green Sacrifice of the Judeo-Christian Worldview in the Holocaust

"Nazi Oaks" details the anti-Semitic historical background to the early German green movement of the 1800's that was later absorbed by the Nazi Party in the 1930's and 40's. While many histories have decried the industrial nature of the holocaust, such views cannot explain the motive behind the greatest crime committed in the 20th century. The holocaust itself was carried out under a green cover because Nazi racism was largely rooted in the Social Darwinism of German Romanticism that laid the ecological foundations for what today is otherwise known as environmentalism. As an important ingredient of the argument, "Nazi Oaks" also demonstrates the anti-Christian bias of the environmental movement in America which paralleled the anti-Semitic bias in Germany during the 1800's. "Nazi Oaks" describes why the holocaust is best understood as a modernized form of human sacrifice carried out under biological/ecological camouflage that is rooted in the sacrificial oak imagery of ancient paganism. The word "holocaust" itself means "whole burnt offering."

US intelligence told to keep quiet over role in Ukraine military triumphs
[Guardian] Former US intelligence officers are advising their successors currently in office to shut up and stop boasting about their role in Ukraine’s military successes.
Greybeards, what can they possibly know ?
Two stories surfaced in as many days in the American press this week, citing unnamed officials as saying that US intelligence was instrumental in the targeting of Russian generals on the battlefield and in the sinking of the Moskva flagship cruiser on the Black Sea.
Biden/Austin/Milley's fluffers in the press
The initial report in the New York Times on Wednesday about the generals was partially denied by the White House, which said that while the US shares intelligence with Ukrainian forces, it was not specifically shared with the intent to kill Russian general officers.

The next day, NBC, the New York Times and the Washington Post all quoted officials as saying that US intelligence had helped Ukraine hit the Moskva with anti-ship missiles last month, making it the biggest Russian ship to be sunk since world war two.

As a general rule, espionage is carried out in secret, though western intelligence agencies have turned that rule on its head over the past few months by going public with what they knew about Russian preparations for invasion, and then with daily reports on the battlefield and from behind Russian lines.

The new disclosures are different however, as they concern what the US espionage agencies themselves have been doing, rather than commenting on the state of the war.

In both cases, the US was claiming a hand in historic humiliations for Moscow and for Vladimir Putin, triggering warnings of unintended consequences.

Paul Pillar, a former senior CIA official, said: "My personal view is it’s unwise. I am surprised at the extent of official confirmation of the role of US intelligence in the sinking into Moscow, and even more so the killing of the generals.

The White House reeeeeally doesn't want to condemn the SCOTUS leak
[Hot Air] Reporters have been nudging Jen Psaki for two days to say something disapproving and for two days she’s dodged. Wednesday:

"I don’t think we have a particular view on that other than to say that we certainly note the unprecedented nature of it," Psaki replied...

"While we have heard a number of raised concerns about the leak, our focus is on highlighting what the content in there would put at risk for women across the country ... I would note that many Republicans have wanted to talk about that and not about whether they support the protection of a woman’s right to choose, a woman’s right to make decisions with her doctor about her health care, maybe not a surprise given that by more than a 2 to 1 margin, American want the Supreme Court to support abortion rights."

The emergency service says two 13-year-olds were hit by rubber-tipped bullets in the foot, while the rest suffered light injuries from tear gas.

Clashes were also reported near the West Bank town of Kafr Qaddum.

After deadly attack, Israel’s chief rabbi urges synagogue-goers to bring guns
[IsraelTimes] Yitzhak Yosef latest to call on civilians to arm themselves amid terror spate, with suspects from Thursday night assault in Elad still on loose

The Sephardic chief rabbi of Israel called on Orthodox Jews to arm themselves when they attend synagogue over the weekend, after a terror attack Thursday night that left three dead.

The rare statement from Rabbi Yitzhak Yosef on a matter outside of religious law reflected the tense security situation in Israel following the deadly stabbing, the latest in a series of attacks by Paleostinian and Islamic State
...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems....
-inspired Israeli terrorists, including in the ultra-Orthodox cities of Bnei Brak and Elad.

"Due to the tense security situation, those with a license to carry a weapon... should bring it to the synagogue and help secure the public," Yosef said in a statement.

The chief rabbi’s statement asked those with firearms to conceal them while in synagogues for "modesty" reasons. Many Orthodox Jews believe it is inappropriate to openly display weapons inside synagogues.

Police officials indicated that the two Paleostinian bully boyz who carried out the axe and knife attack at a central park and nearby road in Elad Thursday night may still be in the area, raising fears the pair may attack again.

Hebrew media reports said the two entered Israel illegally through a breach in the West Bank security barrier. They are believed to have been familiar with the city, which sits east of Tel Aviv fewer than three kilometers (two miles) from the Green Line.

In late March, Prime Minister Naftali Bennett told Israelis with gun licenses to carry their weapons with them, following a deadly attack in Bnei Brak, and other officials have also encouraged civilians to arm themselves.

"There’s no cop on every corner. but there are many civilians who a license to carry a gun," former Tel Aviv police chief Aryeh Amit told Channel 12 news Friday. "They need to carry the gun everywhere. If last night there had been one or two people with guns, the attack would have been stopped in its tracks. It didn’t happen because civilians did not have guns."

Gun control in Israel is relatively strict, and generally only granted to those who can show a need for extra security in their line of work or daily life. Citizens can only own one gun at a time and only 50 bullets.
Seems reasonable til your one gun jams or you need 51+ bullets
Applications for gun licenses reportedly skyrocketed in late March in response to the attacks.

Following a deadly Beersheba terror attack in mid-March that claimed the lives of four Israelis, police said they would ease gun policies for civilians involved in neutralizing terrorists. Police had sparked a minor controversy by temporarily confiscating pistols from civilians who shot the terrorist as part of their investigation.

Under the new procedure, police said a civilian whose gun is taken to be forensically examined after they were involved in neutralizing a terrorist would be accompanied home by coppers, and a new handgun would be issued for them in an expedited procedure.

The three victims of the terror attack were named early Friday as Yonatan Havakuk, Boaz Gol and Oren Ben Yiftah, all young fathers who between them leave behind 16 children. They were buried on Friday afternoon. At least one of the maimed was at death's door, and up to seven were hurt in the attack.

The attack came at the end of Israel’s Independence Day and took place minutes after celebratory events had concluded, with the park crowded with Israelis enjoying the national holiday.

First Elad victim drove terrorists to city, officials say, as pair elude manhunt
[IsraelTimes] Oren Ben Yiftah reportedly did not know two were in Israel illegally or had plans to attack people; police believe suspects still in Elad area inside Israel

The Paleostinian gunnies who carried out a deadly knife and axe attack in Elad Thursday night were transported from the West Bank barrier to the Israeli city by one of their three victims, security officials said Friday, as the pair remained on the lam despite a massive manhunt for them.

Oren Ben Yiftah, a 35-year-old driver from Lod, is thought to have brought As’ad Yusef As’ad al-Rifa’i, 19, and Subhi Emad Subhi Abu Shqeir, 20, from the West Bank security barrier, where they are believed to have sneaked into Israel, to Elad.

Africa Subsaharan
Splinter Boko Haram Group, 'Ansaru’ Donates Sallah Gifts To Kaduna Residents, Begins Massive Recruitment

The Ansaru terrorists’ group, a splinter of the dreaded Boko Haram
...not to be confused with Procol Harum, Harum Scarum, possibly to be confused with Helter Skelter. The Nigerian version of al-Qaeda and the Taliban rolled together and flavored with a smigeon of distinctly Subsaharan ignorance and brutality...
terrorists, has commenced recruitment across communities in the Birnin-Gwari Local government Area of Kaduna State.

According to DAILY POST, members of the Ansaru group, in their bid to lure residents, mostly young people into their deadly group, decided to provide Sallah gifts to residents of communities in Birnin-Gwari.

The bad boys, believed to have been operating for years, along the Birnin-Gwari axis, are responsible for many deadly attacks in Kaduna and its environs.

A resident of one of the communities in Birnin-Gwari, Alhaji Usman Dankabo said that members of the Ansaru group visited the following villages: Damari, Farin Ruwa, Kwasa Kwasa, Kuyello, Gobirawa, Tabanni, Kutemeshi and Kazage, persuading members of the communities to join them.

"They distributed gifts, preached to them, and assured them of safety against any attack," he said.

A resident of one of the villages, Abdullahi Madaki said they distributed biscuits, performed cycle of violence stunts to the delight of villagers and distributed pamphlets, flash disks and other accessories to inform people about the activities of the group.

Abdullahi said the bully boyz vowed to protect them against any invasion and unjust maltreatment.

The group had a violent mostly peaceful clash with bandidos in October 2021, which claimed the lives of over 30 bandidos operating around the Damari axis, Birnin-Gwari LGA.

Suspected members of the group also last year attacked a military formation along the Kaduna-Birnin-Gwari highway, killing 11 soldiers and four villagers, and injuring many others.

They reportedly grabbed credit for the bombing of two Armoured Personnel Carriers (APC), attached to the security personnel.

They were also said to be responsible for the attack on the Kaduna-Abuja train that claimed the lives of eight persons and maimed 26 others. Scores of passengers were also kidnapped.

...Party of Holy Warriors, founded by Muhammad Ahsan Dar in September 1989. One of the Pak sock puppets waging jihad in Indian Kashmir. It was originally organized as the armed wing of Jamaat-e-Islami. In 1990, Dar declared Hizbul as the sword arm of Jamaat. Hizbul murdered many of the pro-independence intelligentsia in Kashmir. After the organization was taken over by Syed Salahuddin Dar and several other ex-Hizb leaders were assassinated between 2001 and 2003...

...a disputed territory lying between India and Pakistain. After partition, the Paks grabbed half of it and call it Azad (Free) Kashmir. The remainder they refer to as "Indian Occupied Kashmir". They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. After 72 years of this nonsense, India cut the Gordian knot in 2019, removing the area's special status, breaking off Ladakh as a separate state, and allowing people from other areas to settle (or in the case of the Pandits, to resettle) there....
's Pahalgam, a key route of the Amarnath yatra.
As far as I can tell, that's a 43 day Hindu pilgrimage to key shrines in Kashmir at the only time when the Amarnath cave is accessible. The trail starts at Pahalgam.
Based on specific input about the presence of bandidos Lions of Islam in Srichand Top forest area in Pahalgam area of Anantnag, security forces launched a cordon and search operation there.

The search operation turned into an encounter after the hiding bandidos Lions of Islam fired upon the security forces, who retaliated.

after many many time visiting this blog I tend to have a rough idea about who is who in here, and why peoples that have access to media, and different languages, viewpoints, from the entire planet, still are fossilized in distorted propaganda world views created over 80 years ago. And besides the tectonic word events that changed and shaped the world culture and views of the reality during all of these years, the majority of the old American generation never evolved from. I understand that your age group, your entire generation has been trained to be Russophobic you have lived all your entire life bombarded by Cold War propaganda. Exactly like the young generations that you complain about, is now been propped for future use by the new propaganda designed for this (woke) generation this an example that demonstrates the damages and psychological manipulation done to the USA population by your own leadership. I’m not sure if you are aware but the entire world, think Americans are naïve and under informed, including your friends in, the Israel Italy England Japan spheres ,… we laughed about how easy an American can be fooled, and how their media and their own government lies to them, on the ground on site when showing the difference on how their own media was reporting the events; so I now understand why all of you old timers are continuously, furiously participating in this (against reality) aggregation of fake British-sourced news…. You (exponentially thousands times than other countries) because you're been trained and shaped by propaganda all of your lives, you are just trying to make believe yourself a reality that unfortunately does not exist. Are you familiar with Jean-François Revel, dear Just a reader? He was one of France’s unique collection of philosopher-journalists, like you very interested in conundrum that is America. His Anti-Americanism addresses the very issue you pose. He personally undertook to translate the manuscript from French into English, as I recall, while his French publishers had translations made available in a variety of other languages; so you ought to be able to find a copy in your preferred tongue, or one near it. #12  mental gymnastics of a rich French socialist that demonize communism

He did start out as a Socialist, to be sure, but he was born in 1924 in France, and in his youth the choice for intellectuals was between degrees on the left: Fabians, labour socialists, national socialist fascists, or international socialist Marxists. With maturity and experience, however, he became a committed free market capitalist and classical liberal, no longer a denizen of the Left at all. If he was rich, it was not as a Socialist, French or otherwise.

Matt dear, those are not mere girlfriends but proper mistresses, each with all the traditional accoutrements thereof.

Arabia
Saudi occupation forces in Socotra attacked by unknown assailants
Saudi occupation forces on the Yemen
...an area of the Arabian Peninsula sometimes mistaken for a country. It is populated by more antagonistic tribes and factions than you can keep track of...
i island of Socotra have been attacked by unknown assailants on Friday.

Local sources on the island reported that button men in a car heavily shot up soldiers from the Saudi 808 Duty Forces that were stationed near the Hobeik point on the outskirts of Hadibo, the capital of the island. The reports state that the button men may possibly belonged to a UAE-backed militia.

The United Arab Emirates occupation forces in the region have recently pushed elements of its militias to burn all government documents belonging to the Socotra governor, as well as to destroy all administrative offices.

Last year, Emirati forces were able to expel the so-called Saudi 808 Duty Forces from Hadibo Airport, and incited the Southern Transitional Council militia to expel them from the island entirely. The UAE is aiming at a full acquisition and annexation of the island, after they established a joint military base with the Zionist entity’s navy over the past two years.

They have fought four wars with India over it, the score currently 4-0 in New Delhi's favor. Iraq
Sinjar residents call for removing armed presence from the district
[Shafaq] Dozens of Sinjar residents blocked the road leading to Hattin apartment complex, protesting the recent security perturbance that took place in the governorate.

Witnesses told Shafaq News agency that the protestors demanded clearing the apartment complex from all armed presence to prevent the reoccurrence of what happened a few days ago.

On October 9, Baghdad and Erbil reached an agreement to normalize the situation in Sinjar, according to which the district will be jointly administrated.

ISIS invaded Sinjar district in 2014 and committed a massacre against its residents, before the Peshmerga forces regained it the following year.

However,
alcohol has never solved anybody's problems. But then, neither has milk...
the Iraqi army backed by al-Hashd al-Shaabi forces invaded the region due to the tension between Erbil and Baghdad against the independence referendum held in 2017.

There are currently two local governments for Sinjar, one of which was appointed by the federal government authorities, and the second is the elected government, which is running its business from Duhok governorate.

The PKK reject repeated calls from the Kurdistan Region to leave its territory, which gets subjected to Ottoman Turkish attacks that impede the return of tens of thousands of displaced Yazidis to their homes.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Hizbullah official says electoral rivals won't be able to 'besiege resistance'
The deputy head of Hizbullah
...Party of God, a Leb militia inspired, founded, funded and directed by Iran. Hizbullah refers to itself as The Resistance and purports to defend Leb against Israel, with whom it has started and lost one disastrous war to date, though it did claim victory...
’s Executive Council, Sheikh Ali Daamoush, announced Friday that the electoral battle is between two projects — one that "has an economic and financial vision and is looking forward to rescue the country," and another that is "imported from abroad and whose main slogan is besieging the resistance and disarming it."

The rival project is "the project of America’s people in Leb
...an Iranian colony situated on the eastern Mediterranean, conveniently adjacent to Israel. Formerly inhabited by hardy Phoenecian traders, its official language is now Arabic, with the usual unpleasant side effects. The Leb civil war, between 1975 and 1990, lasted a little over 145 years and produced 120,000 fatalities. The average length of a ceasefire was measured in seconds. The Lebs maintain a precarious sectarian balance among Shiites, Sunnis, and about a dozeen flavors of Christians. It is the home of Hezbollah, which periodically starts a war with the Zionist Entity, gets Beirut pounded to rubble, and then declares victory and has a parade. The Lebs have the curious habit of periodically murdering their heads of state or prime ministers...
," Daamoush added.

"The advocates of this project have evaded their responsibilities toward the people and their crises, and their electoral programs contain nothing but slogans targeted against the resistance. These are unfeasible slogans that are distant from people’s concerns and have nothing to do with Lebanon’s crisis nor with the priorities of the Lebanese," the Hizbullah official went on to say.

He added that Hizbullah is meanwhile running in the elections based on "a national and feasible project that would contribute to overcoming the country’s economic and financial crisis."

"Through understanding and cooperation with the rest of the partners in the country, we are capable of implementing our general national program and of turning some articles into laws or plans in the ministries that we will be in," Daamoush said.

Addressing "all those who are carrying slogans against the resistance," the Hizbullah official said: "Even if you win the parliamentary majority, you will not be able to implement your slogans and besiege the resistance. You had the majority in a previous period, America and its allies were on your side, some of you were partners in the July 2006 war against the resistance, and yet you did not manage to weaken it."

-Lurid Crime Tales-
Does your F-150 attract catalytic converter thieves?
[WBTW] Thieves can crawl under cars, trucks and SUVs and steal a catalytic converter in less than a minute, according to experts.

The repairs can set drivers back hundreds to thousands of dollars.

The National Insurance Crime Bureau tracks thefts reported to insurance companies. It said catalytic converter thefts have increased more than 975% from 2018 to more than 14,000 in 2020.

The converters are placed on vehicles to help prevent air pollution. They’ve been required by the federal government since 1975 on most vehicles.

Thieves steal the part because of the precious metal inside, such as platinum, palladium and rhodium. They melt down the metal or sell the stolen part for big money.

The type of car you drive could put you at an increased risk of falling victim to thieves, according to a new list from CARFAX.

These are the 10 models most targeted by catalytic converter thieves in the U.S., according to the company that tracks vehicle history.

1. 1985-2021 Ford F-Series pickup trucks
2. 1989-2020 Honda Accord
3. 2007-17 Jeep Patriot
4. 1990-2022 Ford Econoline vans
5. 1999-2021 Chevrolet Silverado pickup trucks
6. 2005-21 Chevrolet Equinox
7. 1997-2020 Honda CR-V
8. 1987-2019 Toyota Camry
9. 2011-17 Chrysler 200
10. 2001-21 Toyota Prius

Many of the models likely make the list because they are easy to crawl under. Cars such as the Prius are on the list because more precious metals are used in a hybrid’s catalytic converter and are worth more, according to CARFAX.

Syria-Lebanon-Iran
Turkey continue to build settlements in conflicted areas of Syria.

On Thursday, The Sick Man of Europe Turkey
...the only place on the face of the earth that misses the Ottoman Empire...
’s Interior Minister Suleiman Soylu revealed his country’s intention to build about 250,000 homes in northern Syria, as part of a plan to return Syrian refugees.

The Ottoman Turkish President His Enormity, Sultan Recep Tayyip Erdogan the First
...Turkey's version of Mohammed Morsi but they voted him back in so they deserve him. It's a sin, a shame, and a felony to insult the president of Turkey. In Anatolia did Recep Bey a stately Presidential Palace decree, that has 1100 rooms. That's 968 more than there are in the White House, 400 more than in Versailles, and 325 more than Buckingham Palace, so you know who's really most important...
was quoted on Tuesday as saying, "we are preparing a new project for the voluntary return of one million Syrian brothers who are in our country as guests."

It was preceded by statements by Turkey’s Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu on April 22 that his country is working on the project of "a safe and dignified return for the Syrian refugees", in cooperation with other countries, without revealing them.

Soylu in a television interview, said that Turkey is planning to build about 250,000 homes in northern Syria for a voluntary return for a million Syrian refugees.

Turkey has prepared 13 projects, including the construction of 250,000 homes in areas occupied by Turkey and the Ottoman Turkish-backed Syrian opposition factions in Sere Kaniye, Tel Abyad, Jarablus and al-Bab, according to Soylu’s statements,

These projects will be funded by international relief organizations, and target Syrian refugees with temporary residency in Turkey.

According to the minister, the Syrian refugee has the right to benefit from these houses for a period of between five and ten years.

In February 2022, Syrians for Truth and Justice (STJ) revealed in a report that Turkey has followed more severe measures against Syrian refugees on its territory.

STJ noted that the Ottoman Turkish authorities have arbitrarily and illegally returned dozens of refugees, despite their possession of official documents issued by the Ottoman Turkish government that allow them to legally reside in Turkey.

Terrorists Kill Eight Residents In Plateau, Injure Two Others in Fresh Attack

No fewer than eight people have been reportedly killed and two others injured by button men in Cinke and Zarama villages of Kwall district, Irigwe chiefdom, Bassa local government area of Plateau State.

It was learnt that the gunnies attacked the communities on Thursday night.

Confirming the incident, the Publicity Secretary, Irigwe Development Association, IDA, Davidson Malison, said, "Residents of Cinke and Zarama villages of Kwall District woke up on the left-hand side of the bed following the unprovoked attacks launched by Fulani

"The attack is no doubt the continuous perpetration of terror and mayhem in Rigwe land in an attempt to forcefully eject the peace-loving Rigwe people from their ancestral land as well as the complete annihilation of the entire tribe.

"The attack has become a daily affair as the marauders have assumed an immune set of people and are feeling untouchable daring the authorities concerned. This spate of wanton killings and destructions of lives and property, stealing of valuable items of the Rigwe people have passed a condemnable level and require a drastic decision and action that will call and treat the attackers in the language they comprehend to place them in their cocoons.

"We are yet again thrown into a deep mourning mood and sadly commiserate with the entire Rigwe people especially the immediate families over the loss. Once again, our call for the authorities concerned saddled with the responsibility of protection of lives and property of the citizens to step up and double efforts in safeguarding the Rigwe people cannot be overemphasised."

Caucasus/Russia/Central Asia
On the consequences of the destruction of the Kremenchug Oil Refinery
Direct Translation via Google Translate. Edited.

Commentary by Russian military journalist Boris Rozhin

[ColonelCassad] Gauleiter of the Poltava region said that the Kremenchug Oil Refinery was completely destroyed as a result of a series of missile attacks by the Russian Armed Forces on the infrastructure of a strategic enterprise.

Of course, one should not take these statements on faith, perhaps some kind of fuel processing activity is still possible at the plant, and statements about complete destruction are made in order to avoid control finishing strikes.

The fact that the plant was badly damaged is a fact - in Ukraine, problems with fuel immediately worsened, and the prices for 92nd and 95th gasoline at gas stations immediately began to fly into space. But what about the complete destruction of the Kremenchug Oil Refinery still needs to be checked.

It is worth noting that if the attacks on the Kremenchug and Odessa oil refineries had been inflicted back in March, then the fuel crisis in Ukraine would have begun much earlier.

In fact, it has already become clear that Ukraine simply cannot compensate for the products of the Kremenchug refinery on its own.

Therefore, in the current situation, they are going to use gasoline supplies from Europe at European prices as a crutch. This will help avoid the lack of gasoline at civilian gas stations, but its prices will be from 70 to 110 hryvnia per liter.

Refineries are difficult (if not impossible) to restore. A new refinery for 2-4 million tons of oil costs about 350-500 million dollars.

More from Rozhin:
Abandoned and forgotten

[ColonelCassad]
Ukrainian commanders were forbidden to take the bodies of the dead from Russians and separatists. The General Staff sent a new order to the troops. According to the document, commanders of all levels are prohibited from organizing the exchange of the dead. It is also forbidden to negotiate with Russians or separatists on this issue. According to our source, the new order was prepared by the Ministry of Defense based on the decision of the Office of the President. The document is classified, but it does not indicate what such a decision is connected with. Commanders who disobey are threatened with dismissal.

Actually, there was no big secret before. Against the background of reports that some exchanges of prisoners are taking place (more than 300 people from each side have already been changed), there is practically no information about the exchanges of the dead. The commanders from the field noted that all proposals of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to take their dead were met with a refusal.

In view of this, our funeral teams are engaged in the burial of the dead UAF soldiers, collecting the dead as the troops advance. Videos on this topic are released regularly.

The reasons for the refusal are quite understandable - if the corpses are taken away, then they must be buried, which means that even more information about the real level of losses will seep into Ukrainian society. And the point here is not even in the payment of compensation (although in them too), but, above all, in concealing the real size of the losses of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which are now hastily trying to compensate at the expense of reservists and the Volkssturm.

Chuck Todd show gets demoted...
[Raw Story] MSNBC's Chuck Todd will have his daily show aired as a streaming service instead of as cable news, a decision that generated a great deal of social media discussion on Friday.

"Meet the Press Daily, the MSNBC program based on the Sunday public affairs show, will go streaming-only beginning next month. The show, which is anchored by Meet the Press moderator Chuck Todd and runs at 1 pm weekdays, will be renamed Meet the Press Now, and will stream at 4 pm weekdays," Alex Weprin reported for The Hollywood Reporter.

Chris Jansing we inherit Todd's slot on MSNBC.

Todd has been a controversial figure at MSNBC and the network has received pressure to "fire Chuck Todd."
"Make him do Hair Club for Men ads for a living. He's too dumb to learn to code"
At the White House Correspondents' Association dinner, host Trevor Noah roasted Todd's journalism.

The Daily Beast reported, "To Meet the Press host Chuck Todd, Noah asked, 'How are you doing? I’d ask a follow-up, but I know you don’t know what those are.' When the crowd groaned, he added, 'Don’t boo him, he’s trying!'"

It was against this backdrop that social media weighed in on Todd's demotion.

Media analyst Jeff Jarvis described it as a move to the "kiddie table."

"I'm sure the company line is that this is an investment in the digital future. And others will say good riddance," he noted.

Democratic strategist Adam Parkhomenko referenced Noah's joke.

"Trevor Noah’s joke was so good it booted Chuck Todd off MSNBC," he said.
Chuck Turd falls farther than Critthy Wallathe did, in a very short time. Couldn't happen to a more deserving moron. I think the appetite for the garbage the left's cheerleaders serve up is dwindling.
"This is a great start, but can we get his Sunday morning gig moved to Quibi or the Weather Channel's app and replace that spot with an actual journalist too?" Kruse wrote.

He then clarified that "the Weather Channel is actually useful, and doesn't deserve being linked to Chuck Todd."

Nelly Torres of the watchdog group Center for Public Integrity said Todd is "among the worst."

"Can't interview and doesn't know how to challenge lies and misinformation. So bye Felicia! Streaming news is where you go to die," she wrote.

Journalist Allen McDuffee argued it is worse than it looks.

"Most people would take this spiral as a sign they should exit. Kinda suggests nobody else is opening a door for him to enter. And it's telling that NBC didn't even try to offer Chuck Todd's show as premium content to paying Peacock subscribers. Instead, they're putting it on the NBC News app, which anybody can watch for free," he noted.

#3  "didn't even try to offer Chuck Todd's show as premium content"
As in, they knew no one would pay for it.
The problem we currently have is, with the huge amount of time to fill on net and satellite TV, there's too much need for content. They'll put anything on.

[Shafaq] Anti-regime Iranian website on Friday shared a leaked audio recording of a senior Iranian commander suggesting Tehran's involvement in an attack on a Ottoman Turkish military base in Iraq.

In the leaked audio, the commander of Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps' "Ammar" headquarters, Mahdi Taib, said in Persian, "we bombed the Ottoman Turkish military forces in Iraq."

US military intelligence believes Iran-backed militias have been coordinating with Kurdish guerrillas to launch attacks on The Sick Man of Europe Turkey

The enemy of my enemy...
Prominent Iran-backed militias have publicly slammed Turkey’s military operations targeting fighters of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) from the mountains of northern Iraq, citing violations of Iraq's illusory sovereignty.

The militias are also behind a small but increasing number of rocket attacks on Ottoman Turkish forces in both Iraq and Syria in recent months, according to the declassified report. Some of the strikes in Iraq were carried out "in cooperation with the PKK," the US Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) reported.

"Following Ottoman Turkish Arclight airstrike

"The DIA assessed that the militias probably will continue to coordinate with the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK), a US-designated foreign terrorist organization, in response to Ottoman Turkish air and UAV strikes on PKK positions," the report read.

Libyan Militia Rejects Human Rights Abuse Accusations
[LIBYAREVIEW] On Thursday, Libya’s Stabilization Support Apparatus (SSA) rejected accusations of human rights
...not to be confused with individual rights, mind you...
abuses by Amnesia Amnesty International.

Amnesty published a report on Wednesday, claiming that the SSA had committed unlawful killings, and arbitrary detention of individuals. In addition to intercepting and arbitrarily detaining migrants colonists and refugees, torture, forced labour, and other human rights violations and crimes.

In a statement, the Apparatus, which is funded by the Libyan government, said that the report "lacks the most basic standards of professional work," describing such accusations as "false and slanderous."

It also threatened to sue the International organization for defamation and slander against an official security institution. It claimed that its units are working with "full transparency and professionalism."

The apparatus stressed that it places "the security and stability of Libya at the top of its priorities, and works in accordance with Libyan laws."

"The aforementioned organization (Amnesia Amnesty International) was required to address us and the official security institutions in the Libyan state formally before presenting any report," the apparatus added.

Notably, Amnesty wrote to the Libyan authorities regarding the complaints received against SSA Head, Abdel-Ghani al-Kikli (Ghnewa), and his former deputy, Lotfi al-Harari on 19 April 2022. It demanded their removal from positions that would allow them to commit further violations, interfere in investigations, or grant them immunity, pending investigations. No response was received in time for publication.

An Amnesty delegation visited Libya in February, and spoke to nine people who said they suffered grave human rights violations at the hands of the SSA members. As well as eight family members, and three activists.

"Legitimizing abusive militia leaders and putting them on state payroll, with no questions asked only empowers them to continue trampling on the rights of more people with complete impunity," said Diana Eltahawy, Deputy Regional Director for the Middle East and North Africa at Amnesia Amnesty International.

Dozens killed in Haiti in 2 weeks of gun battles, thousands flee homes
[PUBLISH.TWITTER]

Gun battles between rival gangs in Port-au-Prince have killed dozens in the past two weeks and forced thousands to flee their homes, Haiti’s civil protection authority and a U.N. agency said.

The Chen Mechan and 400 Mawozo gangs, the latter of which kidnapped a group of U.S. and Canadian missionaries last year, have been waging pie fights since April 24, killing at least 39 people and creating havoc in and around the capital.

"At least 23 houses were burned down, and 48 schools, five medical centers and eight markets had to close," the authority and the U.N. Office for Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in a report sent to Rooters on Thursday.

It describes the situation up until Wednesday afternoon.

The festivities have also maimed 68 and have crippled operations of the country’s largest fuel terminal, leading to fuel shortages, with the gangs hijacking 10 tanker trucks.

About 9,000 people have had to move to other homes, the report added.

Gangs have steadily boosted their power since the July liquidation of President Jovenel Moise.

The pontoons are installed several tens of centimeters below the water level and are hidden from visual detection.

14:01 Counteroffensive of the Armed Forces of Ukraine through the Seversky Donets. Ukrainian servicemen continue their attempts to cross the Seversky Donets River and gain a foothold in this position.

14:01 Russian troops reached the Donets in the area from Yampol to Kremennaya. Artillery duels are underway, on the positions of the enemy in the settlement. Serebryanka, Belogorovka, and Privolye are subjected to artillery and rocket strikes.

14:00 In Brovary, the activities of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church were banned for the duration of martial law. According to the mayor of the city Igor Sapozhko, this decision was made by the Brovary City Council. According to Sapozhko, this means that the protection of real estate objects of the church communities of the UOC will be established and a special regime of their work will be introduced. Under the ban will be holding meetings, rallies, and other mass events.

12:50 In Mikhailovka (Melitopol district), the Eternal Flame was lit.

12:50 Kremenchug refinery will not be able to resume work at least until the end of the year, - the head of the Poltava OVA Lunin.

11:50 Entrepreneurs from Odessa organized a business. For $4,500, a man of military age could easily leave for Moldova. Enterprising entrepreneurs were covered, and the patriots were returned to their homeland.

11:47 Melitopol will host a big community work day to clean up the areas adjacent to the monuments dedicated to the Heroes of the Great Patriotic War. Including the planting of green spaces will be carried out as part of the subbotnik. In total, about 40 trees are planned to be planted on Victory Alley.

11:10 Artillery units hit six command posts, three ammunition depots, 187 strongholds, areas of concentration of manpower and military equipment, as well as 26 Ukrainian artillery batteries. Up to 280 nationalists and 41 units of military equipment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine were destroyed.

11:07 High-precision missiles of the Russian Aerospace Forces destroyed a large ammunition depot of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, located on the territory of the Energomashspetsstal plant in the city of Kramatorsk.

10:30 Information provocations are being prepared in Seversk and Serebryanka. Local residents report that in Seversk and Serebryanka, which are still under the control of Ukrainian formations, an armored personnel carrier with a Z badge on board is driving and shelling residential buildings. He is accompanied by a group of journalists who are filming another fake “how the Russians are hitting the residential areas” of Seversk and Serebryanka. As soon as these settlements come under the control of the Russian Armed Forces, these staged videos will be aired on Ukrainian and Western TV channels and resources.

10:24 Address of the 1st Vinnytsia Rifle Battalion. The personnel (more precisely, what was left of him) formed his detachment from the unfinished remnants. The Armed Forces complain about deception on the part of the command and poor support. They threw it on the front, and promised a 3rd line of defense, they gave rotten armor - the plates fall out of them.

10:24 More than 70 tons of humanitarian aid was delivered by the National Guard together with the Ministry of Emergency Situations to the residents of the Kharkiv region. Over 16 thousand people in 14 settlements received flour, rice, canned meat, tea, sugar, personal hygiene products.

10:24 From the field, they report the destruction of the positions of Ukrainian militants at the Energomashspetsstal plant in Kramatorsk. A large shelter was destroyed, where, according to some information, there is an entrance to an underground shelter used by militants in Kramatorsk, by analogy with inmates from Azovstal. This entrance was blocked by destroyed structures. In this regard, several units of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and the national battalions may turn into yet another "basement video bloggers."

#1  I see this as Russian support. Distract attention. Dilute money and resources to this area of the world but I suspect Biden has no plans to do anything to interfere with China. Taiwan is on its own. Japan must be making preparations. Nervous preparations.

#3  I remain convinced that the Puppet Show is orchestrated in great detail by the Kalorama Kompound Presidium, witness the new press secretary's close ties to MoveOn.org and the ValJar connection via CNN. The Eminence Gris behind the Chair at the Central Committee meetings there is undoubtedly Chinese. The Magic Kenyan thinks they are useful supporters because he is an arrogant, racist twit, but it is he and his minions that are the useful idiot. The Elite Capture strategy of the CCP seems to have taken political leadership control of the heart of our government and the risible demokrat party.

#4  I seem to recall an incident many years ago in which a group of Cuban activists who sought to liberate Cuba from the Castro regime flew their private airplanes toward Cuba, right up to the edge of Cuban airspace. They did this many times just to harass Fidel. But one day Cuban air force pilots scrambled their jets and met the freedom activists. Some, if not all, of the activist were blown out of the sky.

There were all kinds of protests, hand wringing and a great deal of sympathy for the freedom activists. But there was also some understanding that the communist were justified in their response to the provocation.

It's kinda like the wise ass on the playground who throws pretend punches close to the face of the wimp...until the wimp punches him out.

It seems you have a right to defend your personal space.

India-Pakistan
Big terror plot busted: 4 terrorists with Pak connection nabbed in Haryana's Karnal
[OneIndia] Foiling a major terror plot, four suspected Pakistan-linked terrorists on their way to Telangana to deliver explosives were nabbed in Haryana's Karnal on Thursday and arms, ammunition and IEDs were recovered from their vehicle, senior police officials said. They were allegedly in touch with a Pakistan-based man who is involved in terror activities and who used to send locations through an app to them to deliver explosives and weapons, Superintendent of Police of Karnal Ganga Ram Punia told reporters.

Director General of Haryana Police P K Agrawal said the four were arrested in a joint operation carried out early morning by police forces of Haryana and Punjab based on intelligence inputs of central agencies. "In an intelligence-led operation, Punjab Police and Haryana Police arrested four persons today at Karnal with the recovery of 3 IEDs weighing 2.5 kg each and one pistol. Further investigation is on," the Punjab Police said in a tweet. The four -- all residents of Punjab -- were nabbed near Bastara toll plaza after four vehicles of Haryana Police intercepted them, Inspector General of Police of Karnal Range Satender Kumar Gupta said.

"Three containers each weighing 2.5 kg suspected to contain RDX, a Pakistan-make pistol and 31 live cartridges, besides Rs 1.3 lakh in cash have been seized from the vehicle," Gupta told PTI over phone. After the vehicle was intercepted in Karnal, a bomb disposal squad and forensic experts reached the spot. A case under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act, Arms Act and the Explosive Substances Act has been registered. The Haryana Police has constituted a special investigation team to conduct further probe in the matter. Punia told reporters that the four -- identified as Bhupinder Singh from village Bhatian in Ludhiana and Gurpreet Singh, Parminder Singh and Amandeep Singh from Vinijoke village in Zira, Ferozepur -- were headed to Adilabad in Telangana to deliver a consignment of explosives.

"They were in touch with a Pakistan-based man Harvinder Singh Rinda,
...which sounds like a good Sikh name...
who is involved in terror activities and who used to send locations through an app to them to deliver explosives and weapons. Rinda used to drop weapons and explosives at a pre-designated location in the fields in Ferozepur with the help of drones," he said, adding "we are ascertaining the terrorist outfit with which they were associated". Punia said Gurpreet Singh, the key accused, had met Rajbir Singh, an associate of Rinda, in jail. In the FIR registered on Thursday, Rinda and Rajbir have also been named as accused. When Gurpreet was in Ludhiana jail, he came in contact with Rajbir.

And Rajbir connected him to Rinda. Earlier too, the suspects had delivered explosives at Rinda's behest to various locations told by him, according to the FIR. "Rinda is involved in terror activities, he supplies arms and drugs and sends location to them and their task is to transport these explosives and arms...," he said. The four suspects, two of whom are stated to be brothers, were produced before a court in Karnal and remanded to 10-day police custody. The Punjab Police, in a statement later, said in a well-coordinated operation, they successfully averted a possible terrorist attack by giving a hot chase of over 300 km to the suspects and passing on inputs to their Haryana counterparts about their movement.

Giving details of the incident, Punjab DGP V K Bhawra said that central agencies earlier shared an input that some suspects, who may be carrying explosive material and weapons, are moving in the border districts of Fazilka and Ferozepur. Subsequent to this input, police teams along with officials from central agencies were on a manhunt on the intervening night of Wednesday and Thursday to nab these suspects, he said in a statement. The Punjab DGP said that the suspects were found to be moving in the area of Ferozepur and later they started moving towards Ludhiana in a white Innova vehicle bearing Delhi registration number.

"The suspects further took the National Highway and started moving towards Ambala, when acting promptly, Punjab Police shared the development with Haryana Police, which had managed to intercept the vehicle in Karnal and arrest the accused persons with the IEDs," Bhawra said. "In their preliminary interrogation, accused persons have revealed that they were working for Pakistan-based gangster-turned-terrorist Harwinder Singh alias Rinda. Rinda, a notorious gangster active in Punjab, Chandigarh, Maharashtra and Haryana is a history-sheeter and wanted by the Punjab Police in heinous crimes including murder, contract killing, robbery, extortion and snatching," the DGP said.
All activities easily turned to benefit jihad..
Haryana's Additional Director General of Police Sandeep Khirwar said the possibility of more people being involved in the case cannot be ruled out. When asked if the suspects are related to terror outfit Babbar Khalsa, Khirwar said, "Once facts in this regard come to fore, we will let you know." Asked where these explosives were intended to be used, Khirwar told PTI, "All these things are part of investigations."

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Rohtak, Haryana Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar said investigation in the case was underway. Haryana Home Minister Anil Vij told reporters, "Four terrorists were going in the Innova vehicle. We arrested them on the basis of inputs and arms and ammunition have been recovered. Further probe is on." Asked if the arms and ammunition they were transporting were dropped in the fields in Ferozepur in Punjab using a drone from Pakistan, the Haryana Police chief said earlier in the day, "That is what they have told, but these details we need to verify and establish the veracity of these facts."

Month after SJF calls for merger of Haryana-Punjab, cops net four Khalistan terrorists

[OneIndia] The development in Haryana comes just a month after the banned outfit Sikhs for Justice (SJF) made yet another call for the merger of Haryana and Punjab. Its proscribed chief, Gurpatwant Singh Pannu stated that quickly Haryana shall be within the fingers of the Khalistan's.

Once he posted the video, it went viral on the social media. Penny threatened that Haryana will quickly develop into a part of Khalistan and shall be merged with Punjab. He additionally stated that as a way to obtain this purpose, Khalistan flags shall be hoisted atop workplaces of the Deputy Commissioner of Gurgaon and Ambala on April 29.

In February this year, the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting ordered blocking of apps, websites and social media accounts linked to the proscribed terror organization, Sikhs for Justice.

The SJF was proscribed by the Indian government under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act in 2019. The government said that the outfit was trying to revive terrorism in Punjab.

The order was a much needed one as these pro-Khalistan outfits had started running a sustained campaign against the Union of India. Be it undertaking blasts, assassinations or trying to infiltrate the farmer protests, these elements headquartered abroad are trying to make Punjab
1.) Little Orphan Annie's bodyguard
2.) A province of Pakistain ruled by one of the Sharif brothers
3.) A province of India. It is majority (60 percent) Sikh and Hindoo (37 percent), which means it has relatively few Moslem riots....

terror infested.

Groups such as the Sikhs for Justice whose bosses are seated in Canada continue to play a dangerous role. Punjab has seen a lot of activity of late including the security breach involving Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Ludhiana Court blast.

An Intelligence Bureau official tells OneIndia that there has been a sustained effort to portray the Centre as anti-Sikh. They will do it more as the elections near. Even ahead of the Punjab elections, the Intelligence Bureau has received several alerts about these elements attempting to disrupt the process.

Seven soldiers and four back-up troops have been killed in two ambushes in Burkina Faso
...The country in west Africa that they put where Upper Volta used to be. Its capital is Oogadooga, or something like that. Its president is currently Blaise Compaoré, who took office in 1987 and will leave office feet first, one way or the other...
’s troubled north, the army said.

The first attack near the town of Solle on Thursday led to the deaths of two soldiers and four civilians helping the army while five paramilitary troops perished in another raid the same day at Ouanobe, the army said in a statement received Friday.

The ambushes were staged by "terrorists," according to the army.

Nine people were maimed, it said, adding that the bodies of some 20 attackers had been found during clean-up operations.

Weapons, ammunition, transport and communication equipment were also found and had been either seized or destroyed.

Extremist groups affiliated with al-Qaeda and ISIS have regularly carried out attacks in northern and eastern Burkina Faso since 2015, killing more than 2,000 people and displacing almost two million.

Unrest linked to terrorist groups also plagues Burkina Faso’s West African neighbors Mali and Niger.
