I'm sure salamander is a fine officer but the 'comparing this battle and that battle' effort has been responsible for a lot of mistakes.
for example, yes there have been successful 'pincer movement' battle plans based on Hannibal's tactic at Canae but many times battles were blown by trying to do this with troops unprepared for the coordination required.

...an egregious case of attempted suicide by cop by a gentleman whose brief stint in the Navy did not cure the various problems he had before he enlisted, and twenty-three innocent bystanders paid for that fact...
31, is on trial for killing an 18-year-old girl and injuring 22 others when he plowed an SUV through Times Square in 2017
The trial is expected to take several months and include testimony from victims who suffered severe injuries
Alyssa Elsman, 18, of Michigan, was killed. Her sister, Ava, 13, was injured
Prosecutor Alfred Peterson told the jury in opening statements that it is 'impossible for him not to know exactly what was happening'
After Rojas crashed his car, his first words to a traffic agent were, 'I wanted to kill them all,' the prosecutor said
Defense attorney Enrico DeMarco said Rojas has a history of mental illness that made him unable to understand the consequences of his actions that day
At the time, the U.S. Navy veteran told police after his arrest that he had been smoking marijuana laced with the hallucinogenic drug PCP before the incident
Rojas pleaded not guilty at an arraignment in 2017 and has since been jailed at New York City's notorious Rikers Island jail complex
That’s five years. Whatever sentence he gets will have to include credit for time served, but at least while locked up he couldn’t try again, with the same consequences.
[RadioFreeEurope] A former top manager of LUKoil, Aleksandr Subbotin, has reportedly died under strange circumstances, the latest in a series of mysterious deaths of Russian businessmen since Moscow launched its unprovoked invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
Citing sources close to the Moscow regional police on May 9, media reported that forensic tests were held to find possible drugs in Subbotin's body, which was found in a basement in a house in the town of Mytishchi near the Russian capital on May 8.
According to the sources, the owner of the house where the billionaire's body was found, Aleksei Pindyurin, also known as Shaman Magua, testified to police that Subbotin came to his house under the influence of alcohol and drugs seeking a ritual he often asked Pindyurin to perform to relieve hangover symptoms.
Less than three weeks ago, on April 21, Vagit Alekperov, the founder and co-owner of LUKoil -- Russia's largest private oil company -- resigned after he and other Russian tycoons were hit by sanctions by Australia and the United Kingdom over Moscow's invasion of Ukraine.
The same day, media reports in Spain reported that a former top manager at Russian gas giant Novatek, Sergei Protosenya, his wife, and daughter had been found dead in a rented villa in the town of Lloret de Mar near Barcelona two days earlier.
The 55-year-old millionaire was found hanged, while his wife and daughter had been stabbed to death in the villa, police were quoted as saying.
On April 18, Vladislav Avayev, a former vice president of one of Russia’s leading financial institutions, Gazprombank, was found dead in his Moscow apartment together with the bodies of his wife and daughter.
Police said at the time that the apartment was locked from the inside and a pistol was found in Avayev's hands, leading them to conclude that Avayev shot his wife and his teenage daughter before killing himself.
On March 24, another Russian billionaire, Vasily Melnikov, who owned the medical-supply company MedStom, his wife, and two sons were found stabbed to death in their apartment in the city of Nizhny Novgorod.
On February 28, Russian tycoon Mikhail Watford was found hanged in the garage of his home in Surrey in the United Kingdom. U.K. officials said at the time there were no signs of a foul play.
On February 25, the day after Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine, a top manager of Russia's Gazprom energy giant, Aleksandr Tyulyakov, was found hanged in the garage of his house near St. Peterburg. Police said at the time that they found a suicide note next to the body.
Another top Gazprom executive, Leonid Shulman, was found dead in a cottage near St. Peterburg in January, weeks before Russia began its invasion. A suicide note was also found next to his body.

[Townhall] Washington never learns. Never. Politicians are like collective Alzheimer's disease patients. They have no short-term memories.
Does anyone remember 2008? It was only 14 years ago. Then, America suffered through one of the most significant and most painful financial crises in our nation's history -- and the worst losses since the crash of 1929. Millions of people lost their jobs. Hundreds of thousands defaulted on their mortgages and lost their homes.
Trillions of dollars of lifetime savings and wealth evaporated. Central billion-dollar banks and investment houses that were thought to be invincible were swept away like straw huts in the face of a tsunami.
The calamity resulted from government policies that intentionally inflated a housing bubble year after year. Few saw the bursting of the bubble coming. When it popped, the carnage was everywhere and felt from coast to coast.
Now there are many of the same flashing signs of a housing bubble -- and again, no one is paying attention.
A well-respected housing affordability index fell last month to near the lowest level ever as home prices surged.
Mortgage interest rates now exceed 5.2% -- up from 3.6% just two years ago. In some markets, rates are nearing 6%. And the Fed is raising rates again, as it should, but this too will likely further inflate mortgage rates.
The average mortgage payment is now $1,800 a month -- 70% higher than before COVID-19 hit. Many people live paycheck to paycheck and are already financially squeezed due to prices rising faster than paychecks. The only other time home payments were as high as they are today was in 2007. Yes, on the eve of the Great Financial Crisis.

YES! I remember 2008-2010 painfully well.
We were comfortably in 2,400 Sq/ft 5/3 brick valued at $185K + near Lawrenceville Ga. that could not be sold for even $150K nor rented to cover the mortgage payment.
NOTE:
Housing Sales are still slowing in our Mid-Eastern GA area. The House Time on Market has increased from around 21 days before offer, to 30+ days.
We are now seeing more selling price reductions of around $5K per month on 30+ day listings.

The current housing bubble is part & parcel of what you could reasonably call the "unpayable debts bubble". There is no way the USA could ever pay off its national debt (public and private), short of a collapse of the US economy and of the dollar. At least the US financial situation is the least horrible of all other nations.

Won't happen, they will still give out the student loans for bullshit degrees to a greater degree with all the idiots getting said degrees knowing they will not have to pay them back. In other words this is a way for us to continually pay for them to be indoctrinated by the university system, which seems to be churning out plenty of leftist shit.

back in 2006-2008 the banks were coersed into giving out under capitalized loans without even much of an appraisal
I think now there are fewer of these so the bubble should not be as big

A home in San Diego that sold for $650,000 a few months ago sold for $1,000,000 yesterday.
[ZERO] Cases of Covid-19 among attendees to the White House correspondents' dinner two weekends ago continue to mount, as the fully vaccinated and boosted 'elites' who condescended to non-compliant Americans participated in a superspreader event.
As The Hill notes, "High-profile cases following the dinner include ABC reporter Jonathan Karl, Secretary of State Antony Blinken, and reporters from The Washington Post, Voice of America and other outlets."
There is no exact count, and it is not clear which dinner attendees contracted the virus at the dinner itself or at one of the many parties last weekend surrounding it.
But the string of reported cases does emphasize the point that even as the country seeks to move on from the virus, large indoor gatherings do carry some risk.
The cases have also played into an ongoing debate, with some arguing that the current era of COVID-19 allows vaccinated and boosted people to decide to attend large gatherings even if it means a small risk, while others are more cautious, pointing to the downstream effects on other people of increased transmission. -The Hill
No - it's not a debate over whether large gatherings are a good idea since the dominant strain of Covid is only slightly more deadly than the common cold and the vast majority of people will make it through Covid-19 without issue. The point is that those who refused to play the lockdown game were chastised by the very people at this superspreader event.
"I’m yet another [White House Correspondents’ Association] weekend casualty," tweeted Puck News correspondent Julia Ioffe. "I knew I was taking a risk and, well, here we are!"

[American Thinker] Supplying uniforms to the German empire, textile magnate Gunther Quandt made millions during World War I. Shortly after, when electrification was booming worldwide, he gained control of one of the world's largest battery-makers. He soon acquired one of Germany's primary arms and ammo manufacturers. This was just the beginning. He went on to gain stupendous wealth and power through deals with the Nazis. The story of Quandt, as told in David de Jong's Nazi Billionaires: The Dark History of Germany's Wealthiest Dynasties, evokes awe and dread. For it is about soulless profiteering and participation without any qualms in the enslavement and massacre of millions of Jews.
It is well known that many dynastic German companies owe their standing to their complicity — even willful participation — in Nazi evil. De Jong investigated five key industrialists who funded Adolf Hitler's rise to power, were complicit in horrendous crimes, and reaped billions from that cold-blooded investment: Quandt, automaker Ferdinand Porsche, Richard Kaselowsky of the Dr. Oetker Group, financier August von Finck, and industrialist Frederick Flick. His book details their deals and post-war cover-ups. It also tells how they were virtually absolved of all wrongdoing because the West needed Germany as a bulwark against Russia and its East European satellites.
Quandt's first engagement with Nazism happened in the early 1920s. On a visit to the U.S. with his wife Magda, they were approached by Kurt Ludecke, an ardent German nationalist raising funds for the fledgling, cash-strapped National Socialist German Workers Party (NSDAP). Rejected by the anti-Semite Henry Ford, he hoped to convert Quandt to the Aryan cause. Quandt was noncommittal, but Magda was swayed. By the time the couple divorced in 1929, with a generous settlement for her, she was mingling socially with the Nazis. She devoured Mein Kampf and joined the party, where she worked for her future husband, Joseph Goebbels, later chief of propaganda minister for the Reichstag. Quandt, who remained friendly with Magda and Goebbels, came under their influence. He began to believe, like many in post-WWI Germany, that Jews and communists were responsible for all the country's ills.
World War II and Hitler's atrocities would not have happened without the millions Quandt and the other industrialists pledged for arming the stormtroopers who ensured his election. In turn, the plutocrats profited hugely when he began the war in Europe: there was an insatiable demand for uniforms, ammo, fighter planes, and batteries for torpedoes and rockets. The financiers of Hitler's rise were now the hardware merchants of his war effort.
Quandt gained a seat on the board of Daimler-Benz in 1933 and was soon producing arms, besides batteries and textiles. He became a key supplier to the Luftwaffe. Auto engineer Porsche, who had served in the SS, wired the Fuhrer that he and his staff were putting their "will and ability at the disposal of the German people." His firms produced advanced tanks, the V-1 flying bomb, and other weapons systems. In 1934, Hitler gave him the contract to design a people's car — the Volkswagen. August von Finck, who acquired a financial empire that included the Merck Finck bank and insurers Allianz and Munich Re, believed that G-d had sent the Fuhrer to save the German people. Kaselowsky, who married the widowed daughter-in-law of the founder of the Dr. Oetker group and became its chief executive, had a portrait of Hitler in his office suite. He'd gift signed copies of Mein Kampf to new employees. The company was a major supplier of food to frontline soldiers. (His stepson, Rudolf August Oetker, who ran the company and turned it into a household name after Kaselowsky's death in a 1944 air raid, was a former SS officer and ardent Nazi.) Frederick Flick profited handsomely from the army's demand for weapons-grade steel, acquired several mines and heavy industries, and was the Reich's top producer of light machine guns.

This is hand-waving. In conditions of total war, corporations are squeezed until they scream. I suspect the major contributor to their post-war prosperity of their connections to the Nazis was their continued survival during the war, a time when scarcity of labor and materials squeezed every single private enterprise. If you did not use slave labor, you went out of business, because everyone else did. The US won the war, and its corporations did not enjoy significant inflation-adjusted gains in profits.
Germany, which lost, would presumably have seen its postwar government welsh on large amounts of payables to the corporations that made war materials. There's a reason businesses hate war - much as people are drafted and fed into the meat grinder, private capital is requisitioned and incinerated in the fires of war, whether through horrendous wartime inflation or outright seizure through unprofitable contracts.

'Cold Wars' are where the Big Money is at. There is an anecdote in William Manchester's "The Arms of Krupp" where the government minister bitterly complains about the large caliber coastal artillery that were newly sold to foreigners. Krupp gallantly replied "...as a truly patriotic German he has even larger artillery ready to sell to Germany!"
More like proxy wars like the one we're fighting now in Ukraine or chickenshit little wars against piss ant countries like Iraq and Afghanistan. Gotta get kinetic to destroy some of that hardware so you can sell more of it.

[IsraelTimes] Troops operate in Rummanah and Qarawat Bani Hassan following deadly terror attacks in Elad and Ariel; 11 others arrested across West Bank
Security forces raided the hometowns of recent Paleostinian Lions of Islam in the predawn hours of Monday and arrested several suspects wanted for involvement in a series of deadly attacks, the military said.
In Rummanah near Jenin, two Paleostinians were arrested on suspicion that they aided two Lions of Islam who hacked three Israelis to death with an axe in the central city of Elad on Thursday, the Israel Defense Forces said.
The two terrorists, As’ad Yusef As’ad al-Rifa’i, 19, and Subhi Emad Sbeihat, 20, were arrested Sunday morning in a forested area near Elad, about a kilometer from the scene of the attack. Later on Sunday, troops entered Rummanah to map out their residences ahead of a potential demolition.
In Qarawat Bani Hassan, troops detained two Paleostinians suspected of aiding two members of the Hamas, a regional Iranian catspaw, terror group who killed a security guard at the entrance of Ariel, a nearby settlement, in late April.
Youssef Sameeh Assi and Yahya Marei were arrested a day after the deadly attack. The IDF has since mapped out their homes ahead of a potential demolition, and arrested another suspect who allegedly helped the pair commit the attack.
In other areas of the West Bank, troops detained 11 others over suspected involvement in terror activities, the IDF said. Two firearms were also seized in the town of Azzun.
[OneIndia] Himachal Pradesh on high alert after Khalistan
...Khalistan is the idea of an independent Sikh homeland in the Indian (and Pak, but they don't dwell on that) Punjab. The local troublemakers are financed by the Sikh diaspora, who love the idea of the folks they left behind murdering their neighbours before dying romantically for a hopeless idea, with training and additional funding from Pakistain’s ISI via Lashkar-e-Taiba as yet another arrow aimed at the Indian throat...
flags were found tied on the main gate and slogans scrawled on the walls of the Himachal Pradesh Legislative Assembly complex on Sunday.
The flags, which were removed by the administration, were put up on the outer side of the gate number one of the assembly complex.
Amid some pro-Khalistan activities in parts of Himachal and other neighbouring states and the announcement of June 6 as Khalistan "referendum day", the state police chief also ordered the "sealing" of the border and beefing up state-wide security at sensitive and crowded places.
The state border has been "sealed" to regulate movements of suspicious elements across it and keeping a strict vigil there, the HP police said said.
Himachal Pradesh Director General of Police Sanjay Kundu said Pannun has been booked as the main accused under section 13 of the Unlawful Activities Prevention Act and sections 153 A and 153 B of the India Penal Code, besides section 3 of the HP Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement) Act, 1985.
While section 13 of the UAPA pertains to the offence of inciting or abetting terror acts, sections 153 A and 153 B of the IPC deal with the offences of promoting communal or sectarian divides and animosity.
Condemning the incident, Chief Minister Thakur said the culprits will be caught soon.
"I condemn the cowardly incident of raising Khalistan flags at the gate of Dharamshala Assembly Complex in the dark of night. Only the winter session of the assembly is held there, and hence require tighter security arrangements during that time only," he tweeted. "Taking advantage of this, the cowardly incident was carried out, but the government will not tolerate it. Wherever the culprits are, they will be caught soon.
Strict action will be taken against the perpetrators of this incident," Thakur said. SDM, Dharamshala, Shilpi Beakta said, "It is an alert call for us." "We received an information this morning around 7.30am. We have removed the flags and walls have been painted again. We are inquiring about the matter and are going to register a case under relevant sections of Himachal Pradesh Open Places (Prevention of Disfigurement Act), 1985."
The rest of the details can be shared after investigation, she added.

"To my friends in the LGBTQ+ community — the Supreme Court is coming for us next. This moment has to be a call to arms," Lightfoot said in a brief and now viral Twitter thread. "We will not surrender our rights without a fight — a fight to victory!" Lightfoot added.

Reposting a comment I put elsewhere earlier today: If any ill effects are experienced by SC justices or their families from these illegal protests without legal actions from the DOJ/FBI/etc, IMNSHO, Biden will have committed a "high crime or misdemeanor" as mentioned in Article II, section 4 of the US Constitution simply by the failure to act of the Executive Branch. Not that the Left gives a damn about the Constitution, though.

The Rule of Law pretty much ends when the people who control the government decide that "Prosecutorial Discretion" is a synonym for only enforcing the laws when it suits their agenda. Tragically, the level of corruption/political bias within the Executive and Legislative branches of the federal government has reached a level never anticipated in our history.

[IsraelTimes] The Israel Defense Forces says it has arrested three suspects during an alleged attempt to smuggle weapons into Israel from Lebanon Hezbollahstan ...a strong argument in favor of European colonialism, even French colonialism... The military says troops operating security cameras identified the three approaching the border near the town of Ghajar.
The suspects left a bag in the area with five MP5 sub-machine guns and ammunition, according to the military.
Troops and coppers were dispatched to the scene and the men were arrested.
[Times of Israel] In a briefing to Hebrew media, unnamed IDF officials say the military believes the Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, terror group is not behind recent deadly terror attacks, but rather is "riding the wave" to encourage further violence.
This assessment has been presented to politicians. The military says it believes the recent attacks were not directed by organizations but were so-called lone-wolf attacks.
Officials also tell outlets they believe there is deterrence against Hamas in the Gazoo ...Hellhole adjunct to Israel and Egypt's Sinai Peninsula, inhabited by Gazooks. The place was acquired in the wake of the 1967 War and then presented to Paleostinian control in 2006 by Ariel Sharon, who had entered his dotage. It is currently ruled with an iron fist by Hamaswith about the living conditions you'd expect. It periodically attacks the Hated Zionist Entity whenever Iran needs a ruckus created or the hard boyz get bored, getting thumped by the IDF in return. The ruling turbans then wave the bloody shirt and holler loudly about oppression and disproportionate response... Strip and the group is unlikely to seek a major escalation.
There are a million stories in the little country. This is one of them.
[Breitbart] An Israeli man was sipping tea with his family on the porch of his home in the West Bank settlement of Tekoa on Sunday evening when he spotted an armed Palestinian trying to scale the security fence. The man, a father of seven, rushed his family inside and grabbed his M16 rifle and shot the terrorist.
"I was sitting with my wife and children on the balcony and we drank a cup of tea," Yair Maimon recounted. "Suddenly I saw a guy climbing a pole in a fence next to my house. I shouted at him ’Who are you?’ And he mumbled something indecipherable. I immediately realized it was a terrorist attack. I rushed my wife and children inside the house, and told them to close the doors. I took out the gun.
"I immediately went outside and realized that the terrorist had managed to get to the parking lot of the house. I heard a rustling noise from the bushes, I turned around and saw him in front of my eyes with the knife in hand. I immediately fired several bullets until he was neutralized. It could’ve ended very differently."
As a civilian member of the settlement’s security team, Maimon is allowed to possess a weapon.
His 13-year-old daughter caught the whole incident on her camera phone. She can be heard saying "Die!" to the terrorist once her father had shot him, before bursting into tears and exclaiming, "Mommy!"

Gun Control in Israel is done with the background that a lot of civilians have military or other security experience and that experience includes firearms training.
Israel does not suffer from the kind of chronic urban violence that is common in say, Chicago or Baltimore. It does suffer from aspiring killers from the territories or even from some natives who want to kill for political reasons.
Population in Israel is about 10 million.
Active IDF is about 160k
Reservists are about 500k

A source of the US-led Global Coalition said “The SDF conducted a successful operation against a Da’esh weapons and lethal aid facilitator who supplied weapons and illegal equipment into the Euphrates river Valley.”
The SDF keeps pursuing ISIS sleeper cells in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside with the aim to maintain security and stability of the region.
On May 7, the SDF arrested 4 ISIS members with rockets and IED materials in possession in Deir ez-Zor.
“The SDF will continue to fight Da’esh until they are all gone from Syria. The protection and safety of the people of Syria will always be a priority of the SDF,” the coalition source added.
On Sunday, a joint training between the SDF and the Global Coalition was attacked with rockets in Deir ez-Zor eastern countryside.
On Monday, a joint security force arrested a terrorist who killed a policeman before the liberation operations in Dujail district, south of Saladin governorate.
The Iraqi Security Media Cell announced that a joint intelligence force from the Samarra and Dujail Operations Commands and the Commandos Regiment ambushed an ISISA MEMBER in the Albu Hamid area of Dujail and arrested him for killing a police officer in Qara Gul before the liberation operations.
A security source revealed that only a few ISIS members are still present in the Waqf Basin, between Al-Abbara and Abu Saida, 25 kilometers to the northeast of Baqubah.
The source told Shafaq News Agency, "No more than 16 ISIS elements are deployed in the Waqf Basin, including 17 villages."
"The surveillance cameras monitor daily the movements of terrorists in the agricultural villages."
"It is not possible to eliminate ISIS elements with missiles or mortar shells because they are present in residential villages, which would affect the civilian casualties."
The source denied that ISIS controls any village or hotspot in Diyala, especially since ISIS elements cannot appear publicly but attack at night with sniper weapons.

[REGNUM] On May 4, a citizen of the Netherlands, who had previously volunteered for a foreign legion, died in Ukraine. This was reported by the Dutch newspaper De Telegraaf.
According to journalists, family representatives are already confirming the information about the death of a 55-year-old man as a result of artillery shelling.
Note that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands does not confirm these reports yet.
As reported by news agency REGNUM , the previously captured commander of the 36th separate brigade of Ukrainian marines Vladimir Baranyuk told reporters that foreign mercenaries served in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, who were simply "looking for adventure."

[UnderstandingWar] Russian forces continue to face widespread force generation challenges. A senior US defense official stated on May 9 that the US has not observed any indicators of a “new major Russian mobilization” and that members of the private military company Wagner Group “urgently” requested hundreds of thousands of additional troops to reinforce Russian efforts in Donbas.[1]
The official noted that Russia currently has 97 battalion tactical groups (BTGs) in Ukraine, but that BTGs have been moving in and out of Ukraine to refit and resupply, suggesting that Russian troops continue to sustain substantial damage in combat.[2] ISW has previously assessed that most Russian BTGs are heavily degraded and counting BTGs is not a useful metric of Russian combat power.[3] The Main Ukrainian Intelligence Directorate (GUR) claimed that under-trained, ill-equipped Russian conscripts are still being sent into active combat despite the Kremlin denying this practice.[4] A prisoner of war from the BARS-7 detachment of the Wagner Group claimed that a ”covert mobilization” is underway in Russian to send conscripts to clean damage caused by combat in the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Luhansk People’s Republics.[5]
Russian troops in Ukraine continue to display low morale and poor discipline as fighting in many areas has stalled out against Ukrainian resistance. A senior US defense official claimed that Russian troops in Donbas are failing to obey orders from top generals.[6] Russian forces deployed to the Zaporizhzhia area reportedly are experiencing very low morale and psychological conditions, complain about the ineffectiveness of operations in the area, frequently abuse alcohol, and shoot at their own vehicles in order to avoid going to the frontline.[7] This is consistent with reports made by the Ukrainian General Staff that the extent of Russian losses is having widespread impacts on the willingness of Russian troops to engage in offensive operations.[8]
Russian authorities are likely setting conditions to integrate occupied Ukrainian territories directly into Russia, as opposed to creating proxy “People’s Republics.” The Kherson occupation Deputy Chairman of Military Civil Administration Kirill Stremousov stated on May 9 that the Kherson region intends to become part of Russia and that Kherson authorities do not intend to hold a referendum to create an independent republic.[9] Spokesperson for the Ukrainian Defense Ministry Oleksandr Motuzyanyk reported that Russian occupation authorities are intensifying reconnaissance measures and increasing checkpoints and patrols in occupied areas in order to prepare to integrate these regions directly into Russia.[10] Motuzyanyk noted that Russian and Crimean groups have been arriving to occupied regions to intensify propaganda measures to prepare for integration. ISW will publish our assessment of the Kremlin’s most likely course of actions towards their occupied territories in Ukraine in the coming days.
KEY TAKEAWAYS
Russian forces did not make any confirmed advances to the southeast or southwest of Izyum on May 9 but are likely attempting to concentrate the forces necessary to resume offensive operations in the coming days.
Russian forces made marginal gains around Severodonetsk in the past 24 hours.
Russian forces are likely continuing to amass troops in Belgorod Oblast to stop Ukrainian counterattacks around Kharkiv City from reaching the Ukrainian-Russian border.
Russian units in Zaporizhia Oblast are regrouping and will likely receive reinforcements from forces previously deployed in Mariupol.
The Kremlin continues to face severe force mobilization challenges, and ongoing “covert mobilization” efforts are unlikely to generate substantial combat power.
Russian authorities are likely setting conditions to integrate occupied Ukrainian territories directly into Russia, as opposed to creating proxy “People’s Republics.”

Truth be told, Skid just links to the DM for the T&A in the sidebars. We can't help it. It's how we roll.
As for the articles and their tone, they give you a sense of what the buzz is over in that part of the world, the official Message of the Day which is always useful, and sometimes they cover events that never show up in the media here for some reason.
tl;dr: the DM is useful if you are smart enough to see thru it and don't go all monkey-brain.

[NYPOST] An Alabama murder suspect and the jail boss who helped him escape were captured on Monday after a 10-day long manhunt that ended after a car chase in Indiana, officials said.
Prison honcho Vicky White and inmate Casey Cole White were tracked down to a hotel in Lauderdale County after the United States Marshall Services received a citizen tip late last night, Sheriff Rick Singleton told news hounds at a presser.
The pair were captured after a car chase and crash.
When they were discovered by authorities, the suspects took off in a black Ford F-150 truck and were chased by authorities.
During the pursuit, the US Marshals collided with the truck, causing the vehicle to crash. Casey White was taken into custody. Vicky White was transported to a hospital.
At a separate presser on Monday, Evansville Sheriff Dave Wedding told news hounds on Monday that Vicky shot herself, but could not confirm her condition. prolly not the only time she got "shot in the head" this week IYKWIMAITYD
Sheriff Wedding also said that Vicky White was driving the vehicle, conflicting with Sheriff Singleton’s comments.
The pair have been on the lam since their alleged April 29 escape from Lauderdale County jail in Alabama.
"This has ended a very long and stressful and challenging week and a half. It ended the way we knew it would," Sington said, adding he was thankful that "no citizens were hurt, no law enforcement officers were hurt as a result of this escape."
"We got a dangerous man off the street today. He is never going to see the light of day again," he said.
Escaped murder suspect Casey White has been captured and his prison guard lover has died in the hospital
The pair were found at a motel in Indiana and led US Marshals on a brief car chase Monday afternoon
Vicky White, 57, shot herself at some point during the capture and was first said to be in 'pretty serious shape'
She helped break Casey, 38, out of county jail in Alabama on April 29 with the excuse that she was taking him in for a mental health evaluation that was actually never scheduled
She was spotted buying men's clothes at Kohl's and shopping at a sex store a week before the they ran off

[NYPOST] An ex-porn star demanded that Elon Musk ban X-rated content when he takes over Twitter, accusing the social media giant of being "the largest distributor of illegal content to minors."
Lisa Ann, 49, who made a name for herself in the adult film industry by parodying Republican vice presidential nominee Sarah Mama Grizzly Palin ... the babe libs love to hate ...
in several videos, told listeners on her podcast last week that Musk needs to take action in order to protect children.
"Something I really hope Elon Musk takes a step ahead and says, ’We’re not doing this anymore, and if we are, you’ll have to enter in your birthday, there will have to be an ID situation,’ there will be levels to this s—t, that’s what I’m hoping," she said.
Ann said there was no contradiction between her message and her career as a pornographic film star.
"Yes, I did porn for many years of my life, and I’m not hiding my past as people tell me every day on social media when I’m wearing clothes, ’Why are you trying to deny your past? You’re this, you’re that,'" she said.

Avatar is interesting. Biggest movie in history (at the time) and yet once it left theaters it was basically forgotten. I think it was a mediocre (and preachy) story carried by new 3d tech and the 3d faded quickly as well.
It'll be interesting to see how this one plays out. Trailer has meh all over it but Cameron often surprises his nay-sayers.

Don't even need VR, just off phone to tablet like with Pokeman Go!, watch group of 6 or whatever, can look around but little cursors show where the action is/will be, shit even dress up your own Poopoo or whatever they were called so your watch group can see you, I See You!, bobbing and weaving. Add a couple places where group decision changes the ending, but not too many, just enough to get everyone to watch it four times, get hooked. Use best data to assist the third movie.
Wait, sorry, got off topic of pronouns and genders, making sure the orange Poopoos are properly represented even though totally not from that environment of blue water and sky.
[NYPOST] Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis signed legislation Monday requiring Sunshine State students to learn about the "Victims of Communism" in high school.
Beginning in the 2023-2024 academic year, high school students enrolled in US government courses will get at least 45 minutes of instruction each November 7 describing how "victims suffered under these regimes through poverty, starvation, migration, systemic lethal violence, and suppression of speech."
DeSantis inked the law at the Freedom Tower in Miami, where 650,000 Cubans were processed after fleeing their homeland upon Fidel Castro’s seizure of power in 1959.
"I think this tower is a reminder that freedom is not free, that you have to fight for your rights and that there are a lot of people out there that would love nothing more than to put you under some form of oppression," DeSantis said.
DeSantis said the new bill will seek to combat a "tremendous ignorance" among young Americans about the history of the ideology and its impact in various parts of the world.

Once we teach them about the ~100 million dead, something that really does get overlooked, we can teach them about the Nazis being Socialists. That will really blow their minds.
"Since I started to use the word 'commie,'
The future looks brilliant and balmy!
Not one disagrees
Red's a dreadful disease...
Well, except for my kids and their mommy,
For whom the word means
Mostly skylines and screens,
And who welcome the Chinese tsunami.
Other than that, we're pretty much unanimous in our contempt for communism."
[NYPOST] Adreian Payne, a big man who starred at Michigan State and played four seasons in the NBA, died at 31 on Monday.
Chris Solari, who covers Michigan State for the bankrupt, increasingly impoverished, reliably Democrat, Detroit ... ruled by Democrats since 1962. A city whose Golden Age included the Purple Gang... Free Press, confirmed the news.
Payne died as a result of a shooting that took place at 1:30 a.m. in Florida, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office confirmed. Payne was shot in a townhome community in the Econ Landing neighborhood. He was rushed to the hospital but pronounced dead.
The suspected shooter, 29-year-old Lawrence Dority, remained on the scene and cooperated with authorities. Dority was arrested on a charge of first-degree murder.
The Ohio native played at Michigan State under Tom Izzo from 2010-14. Payne was Second-Team All Big Ten in his junior and senior seasons. During his final campaign with the Spartans, he entered the season on the Wooden and Naismith award watch-lists and proceeded to average 16.4 points and 7.3 rebounds per game.
Payne and Michigan State won Big Ten tournament titles in 2012 and 2014.
The former Spartan gained national notoriety when he befriended Lacey Holsworth, a maiden of tender years who inspired Michigan State’s basketball team before succumbing to nervous system cancer at eight years old in 2014.

Nothing much good takes place at that hour of the morning.

Journalism is absolutely shit these days. Lots of fluff about his basketball career that is completely irrelevant other than the only reason we are reading about another instance of black murder in America. A dozen a day or more happen. The shooter remained on scene and cooperated. There’s the real story. Something went down. Befriending a cancer kid in the past is pr spin to deflect. Not having read the full article (because I simply don’t care) my take is that basketball Jones was probably the aggressor for some reason and it was at the shooter’s home. Since the writer refuses to report any real facts, I suppose I’m free to make up my own.

After posting the above comment, I read the full article just in case. I am correct on three counts. I assumed race correctly. There were no relevant facts. Rantburg summaries provide all the information unless specifically stated that there is more detail in the article.

Can’t speak for Florida. In most cases premeditation can be established by simply getting a gun from a cabinet. Second degree is usually the old crime of passion or a fight that got out of hand. There was no intent to kill up to the exact instance. Getting a gun from a car or other place gives time to think about one’s actions. Also police tend to over charge on crimes. It gives the prosecutors lots of bargaining chips. If one is charged with first degree murder and facing life or even death, a plea bargain becomes a very large carrot with reduced charges and drastically reduced sentences. One always has the right to trial. A trial by a jury of pissed off peers who we’re forced to take off work and be bored to death. A jury with fastest way to get out of jury duty is a guilty verdict. Besides, if he wasn’t guilty he wouldn’t be sitting in that chair, amiright? Every second costs money too. Bleed ‘em and plead ‘em is the saying. A far cry from the Founding Fathers’ ideal that it be better for 1,000 guilty men to go free than 1 innocent man be punished. Wow. I reckon I tangented there for a second. I apologize for off topic commentary.

No great answer; I guess what I was pondering was if suspect hosted a party which led to circumstances related to a crime, such as drug use, if that ups a charge, if you will.
These athletes with causes are usually in deference to jail time. "We measured your BAL at 2.3 and found something other than coffee in your vehicle. Now, Hizzonour wouldn't like the cityball's starting position player on the news, and he has a cousin Vinny trying to get into office over in midnight basketballville. Suppose you go down there, get some face time, papers write a good story, and this never happened. That work for you Mr. Sports Union Lawyer? Oh, and Officer Rico who pulled you over, see he ain't from around here, so he has $20,000 bet on the other team next game, understand? We're trying to get him to cheer for the home team, but you know, things take time."
#10
It absolutely can, swksvolFF. I guarantee cat daddy is facing a lot more charges than just 1st degree murder. All of which are going to be complicated by who, what, when, where, why, and to what extent. The premeditation for a 1st degree must be proved. Hosting a party with dope and shooting an out of control guest in self defense isn’t premeditation. Baiting someone you don’t like to a party might be. Then you get into the civil tort shit where the property owner gets sued by all parties involved. It’s all in the facts. Which we will never get.

[REGNUM] Several desperate attempts to land air and sea assault on Zmeiny Island over the past 48 hours have been made by the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU). This was announced on May 9 by the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov , at a briefing.
"The Ukrainian provocation was thwarted," he said. The enemy suffered heavy losses.
Konashenkov added that three Ukrainian Mi-8 helicopters with troops on board, one Mi-24 helicopter, as well as three Ukrainian Su-24 aircraft and one Su-27 aircraft were shot down in the Zmeinoye area. According to him, the Russian Armed Forces also shot down 29 UAVs in the air.
In addition, he noted, three armored assault boats of the Ukrainian Navy with military personnel were destroyed during an attempted landing on the night of May 8.
According to him, the Russian military in total destroyed more than 50 Ukrainian saboteurs during the landing and attempt to gain a foothold on the island.
As REGNUM reported , on May 8, the official representative of the Russian Ministry of Defense, Major General Igor Konashenkov, said that two more Ukrainian Su-24 bombers and one Mi-24 helicopter of the Ukrainian Armed Forces were destroyed by Russian air defense systems over Zmeiny Island over the past night.
According to Live Journal blogger Donetsk:
1. Odessa. 81 years later, history repeats itself. Only then was Constanta as a logistics hub for the Wehrmacht, now Odessa as a logistics hub for the UGIL. Even the ship called "Moskva" died, then the leader, now the cruiser. What's happening? And the following happens - in the first days of the NMD, having captured the Serpent (more rock than an island) and establishing control over the water area, the KChF completely blocked Odessa from the air, sea and created a threat of landing, diverting large forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine.
The death of "Moscow" showed a simple thing - without ships with heavy and long-range air defense systems, such a blockade is impossible. And there was only one such ship. Unmodernized and outdated. Even frigates carry a marine analogue of the Buk, but this is not at all the same. As a result, the Snake was under attack.
The enemy began to inflict these blows with the help of the UAV. We lost (presumably) several (2-3) small boats and air defense systems and decided to evacuate the garrison, which turned out to be without cover. The helicopter was killed during the evacuation. After that, the crests stopped raising the ensign and lost a boat, two planes, several helicopters. The buildings on the island have been destroyed. Nobody's island.
It has been proved once again that without heavy ships with modern air defense, such operations are impossible. There are few frigates for them. There are no heavy ships at the KChF. Odessa was well leveled with rockets, several dozen arrivals, but this does not solve the problem. It can only be solved by taking the city, or reaching its outskirts with the erasure of the MLRS and artillery of all military and port infrastructure facilities. Elsewhere in the Russian blogosphere it has been commented that whoever controls Serpent Island controls Ukraine's access to ports of the Danube.

A *quote* comedian *un-quote* ...certifiable because 'that ain't funny'.
[Daily Mail, where America gets its news] Gloating Russians have taunted Ukraine by holding Victory Day parades in Mariupol and other occupied cities in a display of blind patriotism despite the stalling invasion.
In the port city brought to ruin by persistent Russian shelling and blockades, Kremlin puppet Denis Pushilin marched through the streets waving the traditional orange and black ribbon of Saint George associated with the military celebrations.
The leader of the Donetsk People's Republic wore a Z symbol on his chest as he chanted with fellow senior pro-Russian officials and even lit a torch at Mariupol's memorial for the victims of fascism in a display of breathtaking arrogance.

[NYPOST] US motorists gearing up for their warm weather road trips are set to encounter fresh record high gas prices this week as inflation continues to hammer household budgets.
The national average price of a gallon of gas was $4.328 as of Monday afternoon, according to AAA data. That price was up about 20 cents compared to one month ago and well over a dollar higher than the same day one year ago.
The cost of gas is within a fraction of the all-time high established in March, when the national average hit an unprecedented $4.331 as the Russian invasion of Ukraine caused disruption to global energy shipments.
In New York, gas prices have already hit a new record. The statewide price of regular gas was $4.518 — nearly 30 cents higher than one month ago — while diesel hit an absurd $6.383.
"Increasing gas demand and rising oil prices have pushed pump prices higher. Pump prices will likely face upward pressure as oil prices remain above $105 per barrel," AAA said in a blog post detailing the price surge.
Oil prices hovered near $110 per barrel last week as the European Union ...the successor to the Holy Roman Empire, only without the Hapsburgs and the nifty uniforms and the dancing... weighed a possible ban on Russian energy shipments in response to the Ukraine war. A possible embargo further upended an energy market that was already contending with supply concerns and disruptions related to the COVID-19 pandemic.

[AlAhram] The Islamic State ...formerly ISIS or ISIL, depending on your preference. Before that they were al-Qaeda in Iraq, as shaped by Abu Musab Zarqawi. They're really very devout, committing every atrocity they can find in the Koran and inventing a few more. They fling Allah around with every other sentence, but to hear western pols talk they're not really Moslems.... group grabbed credit for the terrorist attack that killed 11 Egyptian Armed Forces men and injured five others on Saturday in western Sinai.
The terrorist group grabbed credit in a statement on Sunday via its Amaq News Agency, which was also released on Telegram, according to AFP.
The so-called ’Wilayat Sina’ (’Sinai Province’) — an affiliate of Islamic State in North Sinai — repeatedly grabbed credit for several terrorist attacks in North Sinai in recent years.
Thousands of people attended on Sunday the funerals for the dear departed soldiers.
The Armed Forces announced in a Saturday statement that it foiled an attack on a water lifting station, noting that the bully boyz who carried out the attack are currently being hunted down and besieged in an isolated area in Sinai.
Locals reportedly claimed the bad guys were cornered in the town of Qantara in Ismailia province, but nothing further has been reported from there.
Terrorist attacks in North Sinai have declined in recent years following massive and successive security and military operations.
These attacks targeted security forces, particularly at military and police checkpoints, as well as civilians, causing hundreds of casualties.
Meanwhile, ...back at the abandoned silver mine, the water was up to Jack's neck and still rising. And then he smelled the smoke... hundreds of bad boyz were potted in anti-terror military operations, according to periodical Armed Forces reports.
In 2018, the Armed Forces launched a major counter-terrorist drive titled ’Comprehensive Operation Sinai 2018’ that has succeeded in almost eradicating terrorism from North Sinai as well as the Nile Delta and desert areas.
[IsraelTimes] Cop moderately maimed after suspect draws knife during questioning in police holding area overlooking Old City entrance
A police officer was stabbed and moderately hurt by a Paleostinian assailant at Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate on Sunday evening, Israeli officials said.
The alleged attacker — a Paleostinian from the West Bank, illegally in Israel — was taken into a police booth that overlooks the entrance to the Old City for questioning, after officers found him to be suspicious, according to police.
The assailant then drew a knife and stabbed the officer in the neck, medics said.
Other officers at the scene shot the man, police said. He was listed at death's door and was taken to Hadassah Hospital in Ein Karem for further medical treatment.
The alleged assailant was named as 20-year-old Nadheer Marzouq, from the West Bank town of Abwein, north of Ramallah, according to his lawyer Khaldoun Najm.
"He’s at death's door. He’s ventilated in an induced coma and his life is very much in danger," Najm said in a phone call.
Najm charged that the police had focused on treating the maimed officer and had "left [Marzouq] to bleed out."
Police said the suspect was carrying a second knife.
"The coppers acted courageously while engaging a person who aroused their suspicion, and thus effectively prevented harm to innocent civilians," the Israel Police said in a statement.
In response, officers closed off the area and other entrances to the Old City.
The attack came hours after two Paleostinians were arrested for a deadly terror attack last week in the central city of Elad last week.

Hoping to pass the Times for most Pulitzer's in the Fiction Category?
[NYPOST] Black Lives Matter co-founder Patrisse Cullors has admitted to throwing two parties at the organization’s swanky $6 million Los Angeles mansion — despite previously suggesting she’d never used the property for personal gain.
The 38-year-old fat lady told the News Agency that Dare Not be Named on Monday that she hosted her son’s birthday party and a gathering to celebrate President Biden’s inauguration at the six-bedroom property early last year.
BLM faced a torrent of criticism and backlash last month when it publicly emerged that the organization had "secretly" purchased the LA mansion — which boasts a home with six bedrooms and bathrooms, a swimming pool, a soundstage and office space — back in 2020.
At the time, Cullors said the property was purchased by BLM to serve as a meeting venue and campus. She also issued a statement denying suggestions she had lived at the property — or taken advantage of it for personal gain.
But Cullors, who resigned as BLM’s executive director a year ago after spending six years at the helm, said she used the property twice for events that weren’t business related.

I was surprised she wasn’t living in it. I think she is stealing the money by contracting her relatives to mow the lawn on the empty mansion. Seems like it would have been more useful to buy an office building or storage locker facility for bricks and Molotov cocktails.

[NYPOST] The former Russian gymnast rumored to be Vladimir Putin ..President-for-Life of Russia. He gets along well with other presidents for life. He is credited with bringing political stability and re-establishing something like the rule of law, which occasionally results in somebody dropping dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substance. Under Putin, a new group of business magnates controlling significant swathes of Russia's economy has emerged, all of whom have close personal ties to him. The old bunch, without close personal ties to Putin, are in jail or in exile or dead from poisoning by polonium or other interesting substances... ’s longtime baby mama is pregnant again, according to a report.
Alina Kabaeva, the 38-year-old Olympic gold medal-winning rhythmic gymnast-turned-media mogul who has been linked to the 69-year-old Russian strongman since at least 2008, is believed to already have four children with Putin, according to the General SVR Telegram channel.
"We have already reported that yesterday, Russian President Vladimir Putin, according to eyewitnesses, looked depressed and somewhat aloof," a translation of the May 3 post reads. "This is understandable, yesterday Putin learned that his long-term cohabitant and mother of his children, Alina Kabaeva, was pregnant for another, or rather, apparently, an extraordinary time."
The report, which began circulating Monday, could not be independently confirmed. But the channel is purportedly run by a former Russian Foreign Intelligence Service lieutenant general known by the alias "Viktor Mikhailovich."

Now this deserves the Russian troll rants about British and American tabloids and their misinformation. :)
[NYPOST] A viral video of an anti-abortion activist in FDNY garb shouting outside St. Patrick’s Cathedral over the weekend is not a member of the city’s ranks of firefighters, a department spokesman said Monday.
“A video circulating from a protest in Manhattan over the weekend shows an individual wearing a FDNY sweatshirt. The individual in the video is not a member of the FDNY,” said Deputy Commissioner of Public Information Frank Dwyer.
The video emerged Sunday showing the man screaming at pro-choice demonstrators from the steps of the church, “I am the people!
[NYPOST] The knife-wielding man who knocked a Brooklyn straphanger onto subway tracks and slashed him during a wild caught-on-video scuffle last week has been arrested, cops said.
Anthony Melendez, 35, was busted Sunday in connection with the Wednesday morning attack at the Broadway Junction A and C station in East New York, police said.
Footage released by the NYPD over the weekend shows the 52-year-old victim first walking through the station past Melendez, who began to argue with him for an unknown reason, authorities said.
Melendez then jabbed at his adversary, who deflected the weapon and swung at him with what appears to be a jacket, according to the footage and cops.
The men chase each other around the train platform, knocking over the contents of the suspect’s shopping cart as other straphangers try to get out of the way, the footage shows.
After a few seconds, the suspect tackled the victim, causing them both to fall onto the southbound tracks, police said.
There, Melendez slashed the victim in the chest, ear, finger and head, cops said.

This NYC Subway Testosterone exchange was going good up to the point where the victim combatant #2 got his back to the tracks and only needed to be pushed.
But, the victim combatant #2 did take combatant #1 knife attacker with him to the tracks.
[IsraelTimes] Tekoa security officer opens fire after armed suspect enters community, approaches his home; no Israelis hurt in incident; Hamas, the well-beloved offspring of the Moslem Brotherhood, claims Muatasem Atallah, 17, as terror group member
A Paleostinian armed with a knife was rubbed out after apparently infiltrating the West Bank settlement of Tekoa on Sunday night.
The suspect was shot by a security officer at the entrance to his home, near the community’s perimeter fence.
Large military forces were scanning the area for other possible suspects, according to the Israel Defense Forces.
"IDF forces were rushed to the scene and are now searching for more suspects in the area," the military said in a statement.
Sirens resounded in the settlement and residents were told to lock their doors. The Rescuers Without Borders emergency service said there were no other injuries in the incident.
The incident came shortly after a Paleostinian man — who had illegally entered Israel — stabbed a police officer in the neck at Jerusalem’s Damascus Gate.
[NEWSWEEK] If you worked really hard, you might be able to come up with an idea as unappealing as a government disinformation board. Voters already distrust the government and are especially concerned about its excessive intrusion and unchecked regulatory power.
If you worked even harder, you might find as bad a person to lead it as Nina Jankowicz, a self-styled "disinformation expert" whose real specialty seems to be spreading disinformation to support her left-wing views.
If you tried hard to justify this mess, you might come up with a defender as ineffective as Alejandro Mayorkas, the secretary of homeland security. The secretary, already in deep trouble because of the porous southern border, faced a hostile Senate hearing and admitted he knew nothing about Ms. Jankowicz's dismal history of ideological fulminations and partisan statements. He refused to say whose bright idea it was to hire her—only that he was clueless about her background. Still, Mayorkas refused to apologize, refused to replace her and refused to back down from creating this ill-conceived (and ill-defined) board.
If you did all these things, as the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) has, you would be committing political malpractice. You would be mocking the Constitution's fundamental protection of free speech, encoded in the First Amendment. Although a few ideologues might applaud you, you would hear only groans from moderate Democrats running for reelection. This ill-conceived board would lash them, at their peril, to a high-profile effort to monitor private speech, conducted by a very unpopular administration. That's dangerous constitutionally and incompetent politically.

[NYPOST] "The Biden White House doesn’t seem to care that angry mobs have gone to the homes of six conservative Supreme Court justices to protest the likely overturning of Roe v. Wade," thunders Joe Concha at The Hill. The lefty group Ruth Sent Us published the addresses of six justices, including several with "children at home." Pushed on whether that’s "extreme," Biden spokeswoman Jen Psaki ...a valley girl who woke up one morning and found she was spokeswoman for the U.S. Department of State under Obama... replied, "I don’t have an official US government position on where people protest." Federal law prohibits "pickets or parades" with "intent of influencing any judge" if it’s "in or near a building or residence occupied or used by such judge." Says Concha: "Perhaps another news hound in the daily briefing can circle back on this": "By not condemning it," Team Biden is "tacitly approving the intimidation of justices at their homes."

If any ill effects are experienced by SC justices or their families from these illegal protests without legal actions from the DOJ/FBI/etc, IMNSHO, Biden will have committed a "high crime or misdemeanor" as mentioned in Article II, section 4 of the US Constitution simply by the failure to act of the Executive Branch. Not that the Left gives a damn about the Constitution, though.

Betcha the moment protestors show up at the Lefty Justice's houses, the Federal Bureau of Idiots will swoop in instantly.
They are failing to understand that a 2 tiered Justice system will very quickly turn into a 3 tier one, one for 'elites', one for the rabble, and one for the pissed off rabble who are done with the courts and police and will handle things....biblically.

It would be fun to get some tee-shirted counter protests together. We could call the group Smith and Wesson Sent Us.

My undisclosed location will be either in Golden Corral, Waffle House or Akron, OH. There is too much inherent violence in all three locations for lib Antifa-types to seek me out. Most of Akron looks like the abandoned Richmond dock area in Dirty Harry. It will spook them out.

Lying bitch. Of course she has a position. She and Biden want the angry mobs to do exactly what they're doing.

Don't you have to have a permit supposedly to protest? Just saying, or how about disturbing the peace. Disorderly conduct, I got that charge for saying bullshit in my own house. Or just shoot the fuckers and take it to court, I have a feeling the justices know some people who would take their case.

[OneIndia] Officials have learnt that the account fb.com/shaanti.patel.89737, had managed to lure some persons in the establishment and get information.
The ISI appears to be on overdrive mode and the National Investigation Agency (NIA) is now probing a case where the spy agency of Pakistain is attempting to inject a malware into the computers and phones of defence personnel.
The agency took over the probe after an account named fb.com/shaanti.patel.89737, managed to gain unauthorised accedes to restricted data of computer resources.
Intelligence Bureau officials have been keeping a close watch on such activities for sometime now. Recently the Andhra Pradesh police launched a probe into the matter based on source based information. Following this the officers and soldiers were told to delete several social networking, micro-blogging and gaming applications including Facebook and Instagram.
Officials have learnt that the account fb.com/shaanti.patel.89737, had managed to lure some persons in the establishment and get information. It is a classic case of honey trapping an official tells OneIndia.
An assessment by the Intelligence agencies earlier this said that honey trapping would continue to remain one of the key concerns for the security agencies.
The honey trap wing of the ISI is being run from Faridkot. Since 2015, the ISI has earmarked a budget of nearly Rs 3,500 crore for this unit. This only goes on to show, how important the unit is for the ISI.
After a trap is laid, the information is either elicited through blackmail or in the lure for cash.
The ISI agents, who set the trap pay anything between Rs 5 lakh to Rs 10 lakh for the information.
The amount would however depend on the rank of the officer. The higher the rank, higher the money.
The Union Home Ministry was recently told by the Intelligence Agencies that in 2017, a fresh push was made by Pakistain to trap as many young recruits of the Indian Army. The traps were being set on those who had just joined the Army and as well as on those who were in the process of joining the forces. The Anika Chopra case is part of the same plan, IB officials say.
The ISI has been looking to trap as many as 200 such young recruits and recent investigations showed that the Pakistain agents were already in touch with over 50 of them. When the police had arrested Gaurav Kumar, a resident of Rohtak, they found that he was asked to click pictures, each time he visited the Army training camp. He had plans of joining the Indian Army and was training for the same.
He had already been trapped before he could join the forces. It was found that he had visited 18 Army recruitment camps from where he is alleged to have shared a lot of information.
Not only do the operations run from Faridkot, but the ISI has also managed to set up dedicated modules within India to honey trap officials. There are modules in Rajasthan, Gujarat ...where rioting seems to be a traditional passtime... , Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh, which exclusively report to the Faridkot.
The ISI agents first create a fake profile on the social media and then begin chatting. Once they find that the target is vulnerable, they lead him to the Hookup chat site. Over here the information is shared. The biggest problem that Sherlocks face is that once a person logs out of Hookup, the chats are automatically deleted.
Officials tell OneIndia that the problem is likely to get worse in the coming months. The challenge ahead is huge. The official however adds that while the problem has been immense, the agencies have however managed to nip such incidents in the bud. It could have been much worse had it not been detected early, the official also added.
[NYPOST] A new study by Columbia University and the Robin Hood Foundation finds that nearly half of Asian New Yorkers live in poverty — twice the level for white New Yorkers and comparable to that of black and Hispanic communities. That’s a huge problem for progressives who routinely seek "justice" for blacks and Latinos mainly at Asians’ expense.
Asians, after all, also suffer from bigotry: The same study found that about 80% of New Yorkers of Chinese descent reported experiencing high levels of racism-related violence in 2020.
Documented, an online site covering immigrant issues, reports that Manhattan’s Chinatown has become "a place where anti-Asian hate, increased poverty and housing issues have been felt acutely" since the onset of the pandemic.
Yet progressives for years have sought to dismantle city Gifted & Talented programs, undermine the selective middle and high schools and otherwise wage war on excellence in the name of serving poor and minority students — though that agenda attacks the interests of Asians, the "inconvenient" minority.
De Blasio-era schools Chancellor Richard Carranza went so far as to publicly slam Asian parents who objected to his policies. Asian parents, he griped, act as if they "own" the city’s test-in-only specialized high schools. He even derided those schools as "the epicenter of privilege."
How inconvenient that race-blind testing leads Asian kids to earn a "disproportionate" share of seats in those schools, despite challenges of poverty and bigotry. How awkward that the complex formula that aims to get more black and Hispanic kids in (without actually teaching them enough to earn higher scores) inevitably reduces Asian enrollment far more than white.
Asian communities aren’t looking for government handouts or set-aside programs. They, like a majority of New Yorkers, simply want the chance for their kids to succeed through hard work, good grades and fair play. That puts them at odds with the woke agenda.
With rising anti-Asian attacks adding to the community’s grievances, and the left-wing establishment opposed to any serious action against crime, a political awakening is underway. We look forward to the coming political reckoning.

[JPost] As much a disruptive prick as he's been, could he possibly hate the Mideast Trump Peace this badly?
US President Joe Biden is considering a visit to Al Makassed Hospital, the largest Palestinian medical center in east Jerusalem, an Israeli source said on Monday. The visit, during Biden’s trip to Israel planned for next month, would be in the framework of an American initiative regarding the hospital.
Biden would visit the hospital unaccompanied by Israeli officials, which would be viewed as not recognizing Israeli sovereignty over that part of the capital.
No previous US presidents have made similar visits. Biden’s plan to visit east Jerusalem, in general, was first reported by Kan.
Though the Biden administration has sought to strengthen the current Israeli coalition government, the visit signifying a divided Jerusalem would likely spark disputes within the coalition.
The visit would be in the framework of an American initiative regarding the hospital, which could mean renewed funding after the Trump administration cut $25 million to the East Jerusalem Hospitals Network, of which Al Makassed is a member.
Biden’s trip to Israel has not yet been finalized, but is expected to be scheduled around the G7, which is on June 26-28.
Then Press Secretary Jen Psaki said on Wednesday in response to a query whether Biden's visit to Israel would occur on the tail end of his June visit to Europe, that while the president was "looking forward to coming, but we haven’t quite locked in the date yet."
Ahead of the visit, The White House denounced Bennett's approval and advancement of 3,988 Israeli homes in Judea and Samaria. According to N12, the White House conditioned Biden's trip on the issue.
"Israel’s program of expanding settlements deeply damages the prospect for a two-state solution," Deputy State Department spokesperson Jalina Porter told reporters on Friday.
Biden's consideration of a visit to east Jerusalem comes as tensions spike over issues of sovereignty over the territory. On Sunday a Palestinian Authority spokesperson said that the "State of Palestine" had rights to east Jerusalem and the Temple Mount.
The US president is also set to meet Jordan's King Abdullah later this week, Reuters reported.

What if a... random Abdul... were to... you know, rush at him with a machete or something. Just thinking aloud.
Naah, after SS had shot the bastitch, the old dunce would likely conclude, "Well gee whiz, we musta really oppressed these folks by arming the Jews all this while, to get that in the way of gratitude!" And he'd go back to correct the 'moral errors' of his predecessors.
