The legality isn't the point. The Iraq War was one of the stupidest blunders ever made by a great power. Unlike Ukraine and Russia, we intervened against a nonexistent threat based on the obsessive ravings of a deranged Vice President -- and then we completely trashed the country and threw away 10,000 of our soldiers' lives (and over 100,000 civilian lives).
And blew $1.6 trillion of our people's money -- for nothing.
Ukraine is another fool's errand. Biden is far less intelligent than George W Bush, and he's surrounded by freaks and fools, so of course Biden is plunging into an even stupider and more disastrous war than W did. This one will cost us a trillion and will bring about the end of the US as the dominant power in the world. A pointless intervention stoked by foolish neo-con delusions.

Try to change the subject all you like, but it was W who confused Iraq and Ukraine. Obviously there's a connection.
For what it's worth I supported the Iraq War based on the WMD argument. But like all of us who supported it, I was wrong. Saddam did not threaten the US. He threatened Iran, and Israel, but not the US.
It was stupid for us to waste over a trillion dollars and get our soldiers killed. We destroyed the country and destroyed stability in the region. It was a well-intentioned blunder.
Ukraine is also well-intentioned but it's a huge blunder nonetheless. The parallels are clear:
- a nasty and aggressive regional strongman who's being distorted by the Military--Industrial Complex plus assorted neo-con fools to be the "2nd Coming of Hitler"
- distortion of various local grifters and thugs to make them into "brave" allies fighting for "democracy" and "freedom" -- while they steal us blind
- taking our eyes off the ball by engaging in another mindless adventure when we have fires to put out at home.
I lived through it. Official D.C. went crazy with war fever in 2003, and the whole thing quickly turned into a trillion-dollar fiasco.

I guess the Bushies could at least shrug off their Iraq adventure's price tag by noting that in 2003, our economy was riding high and China was still a lesser power. Our debt in 2003 was "only" $6.7 trillion, which was a more or less manageable 59% of GDP.
Biden's foreign adventure is happening with 5x the debt that the Bushies had: $32 trillion. Biden's debt to GDP ratio, 125%, is definitely unsustainable now and is costing us at least 1% in annual economic growth.

The invasions of Afghanistan and Iraq, and the destruction we wrought, was fair return for the intent of 9/11 and other attacks going back several decades. Our mistake was staying to repair and rebuild afterward, instead of leaving them the lesson of rubble and death to the horizon.

Yu Zhou Xin Min Sheng Village Bank, Shangcai Huimin Country Bank and Zhecheng Huanghuai Community Bank froze all deposits on April 18, with all three telling customers they were upgrading internal systems. The banks have not issued any communication on the matter since, depositors said.
None of the three banks responded to Reuters' emails or phone calls seeking comment.
While nominally small, China's numerous local banks have outsized significance because they lend to small and mid-sized firms so their activity can be an indicator of the health of the economy, the world's second-biggest after the United States.
Bank earnings and asset quality are widely expected to deteriorate due to reduced business activity brought about by strict COVID-19 containment measures, raising the prospect of economic contraction in the second quarter of the year.

[Judicial Watch] (Washington, DC) Judicial Watch announced today that a California court has found California’s gender quota law for corporate boards unconstitutional. The verdict comes after a 28-day trial (Robin Crest et al. v. Alex Padilla (Case No. 19STCV27561)). The verdict follows a similar ruling in Judicial Watch’s favor last month finding California’s diversity mandate for corporate boards unconstitutional.
Judicial Watch filed the gender quota lawsuit in Los Angeles County Superior Court in 2019, on behalf of California taxpayers, Robin Crest, Earl De Vries and Judy De Vries. The lawsuit challenges a 2018 law, known as Senate Bill 826, which requires every publicly held corporation headquartered in California to have at least one director "who self-identifies her gender as a woman" on its board of directors by December 31, 2019. The law also requires corporations to have up to three such persons on their boards by December 31, 2021, depending on the size of the board. Judicial Watch argued that the quota for women on corporate boards violates the Equal Protection Clause of the California Constitution.

[Judicial Watch] Thirteen years after a federal investigation blasted the U.S. Census Bureau for hiring criminals to enter American homes to gather statistics for the decennial count, a new audit reveals the disturbing practice continues. In fact, more than a decade after the problem was exposed workers for the 2020 count were not properly vetted and many with criminal records had direct interactions with the public. The most recent probe, conducted by the Department of Commerce Inspector General, found that "dozens of employees who worked on address canvassing in advance of the 2020 census had major issues flagged on their investigations, which typically means employees are automatically disqualified from their federal jobs."
Chunks of the 28-page report are redacted but the gist is well conveyed, that the Census Bureau has long failed to screen its workforce and therefore endangers the public. It’s not like there isn’t a vetting system in place.

In a labor market where companies are offering competitive packages to attract scarce talent, Census is offering temp assignments to go door-to-door and bother people who might yell at you. [Victory Girls] Monday the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) demonstrated how much they care, reaching a deal with baby formula maker, Abbott Nutrition, to re-open one of their production plants to ease the baby formula shortage.
"Abbott Nutrition, the maker of Similac and other popular baby formulas, said Monday it has come to an agreement with the Food and Drug Administration to fix safety issues at a Sturgis, Mich., factory that has been shuttered for more than three months, contributing to a nationwide formula shortage."
For the freaked-out families trying to feed their babies, while the news seems good, it really isn’t. Abbott indicates it could be two months before formula, which includes labels like Similac, Alimentum and EleCare, is on shelves.
Despite all the media spinning and understandable fear, here’s the facts.
First, Abbott Nutrition, voluntarily closed their Sturgis, Michigan plant a few months ago, after hearing reports infants died from bacteria that possibly came from their formulas. The FDA has posted those press releases:

So the shutdown was initially due to the deaths. Autopsy's showed none of the babies died from the formula. The FDA testing found a different bacteria in the plant and it remained closed.
The issue I have with this is how the FED handles it. It seems they had the plant closed and walked away. This is not how the FDA should act.
The FAA is a good example of right. When the FAA audits a business and finds a shut down worthy fault they dont just walk away. They identify the issues and help the company with the solution to get then compliant and back in the air. Its painful, but it worked. It seems from my perspective, and I hope I am wrong, that the FDA identified it and has walked away until the company figures it out.

[WRAK] The average gas price in North Carolina stands at $4.32 per gallon on Wednesday. Experts are now saying we could see gas prices at $6 by the end of the summer.
The local average jumped 6 cents Tuesday night -- the largest increase we've seen in awhile.
CNN Business reports the average price for gasoline in California hit $6 a gallon Tuesday for the first time, and that could become the national average in only a few months.
"There is a real risk the price could reach $6+ a gallon by August," Natasha Kaneva, head of global oil and commodities research at JPMorgan, told CNN in an email on Tuesday.
While JPMorgan is concerned it could be difficult to meet intense demand during this summer's driving season, other experts don’t believe gas prices will ever get that high because many people would likely "balk at $6 gas" and drive less.

Fuel costs can be mediated by driving less. Fuel costs associated with food delivery logistics, directly impact the consumer at the grocery store and are not as easily adjusted.

Here in mid-east GA. the Sprint Super Saver price went from $3.68 to $4.19 in one week? We are seeing LED Gas Station signs posting NC instead on prices. On last check, SAM'S Club price was $4.02+
The Non-Ethanol we were paying $3.98 for in April, is now $4.89.
Note: We are not seeing any signage indicating 85/15 GAS has arrived.

My heroes are the ones who said fuggit, go get that road truck full and sand and bury the M-Fr.
The growing concern is the lighter frames for the EV and the IC requiring better MPG ratings is too often the frames can defeat traditional extrication methods. It gets more exciting with air bag placements. We shopped a program which could only fit on a laptop, showing such pitfalls, but that was (not too long ago real time) a couple gens ago.
Remember that program which let you look at the sky with a phone/tablet and it would show the constellations? Need something like that but for vehicles, showing pitfalls, even if the frame no longer isn't (that filter gimmick coming into real use). Instead of 3-D renders of every vehicle ever made, stream just what is needed at the moment. Put a NV/IR for added fun (handy for finding ejections - passenger seat shows warm, but no passenger, time to take a look around).

They can still triangulate your position from the SIM contacting the cell towers near you.
Not with precision. They can't tell whether you're at a Starbucks or a gunshop 100 yards further down the street. Google has much more accurate data at the individual level than any of the carriers.
Sign out, turn off (trackers), drop out (of the Surveillance State).

Without having ever knowingly committed a crime or been convicted of one, you and your fellow citizens have likely been assessed for behaviors the government might consider devious, dangerous or concerning; assigned a threat score based on your associations, activities and viewpoints; and catalogued in a government database according to how you should be approached by police and other government agencies based on your particular threat level.
If you’re not unnerved over the ramifications of how such a program could be used and abused, keep reading.
It’s just a matter of time before you find yourself wrongly accused, investigated and confronted by police based on a data-driven algorithm or risk assessment culled together by a computer program run by artificial intelligence.
Consider the case of Michael Williams, who spent almost a year in jail for a crime he didn’t commit. Williams was behind the wheel when a passing car fired at his vehicle, killing his 25-year-old passenger Safarian Herring, who had hitched a ride.
Despite the fact that Williams had no motive, there were no eyewitnesses to the shooting, no gun was found in the car, and Williams himself drove Herring to the hospital, police charged the 65-year-old man with first-degree murder based on ShotSpotter, a gunshot detection program that had picked up a loud bang on its network of surveillance microphones and triangulated the noise to correspond with a noiseless security video showing Williams’ car driving through an intersection. The case was eventually dismissed for lack of evidence.
Although gunshot detection program like ShotSpotter are gaining popularity with law enforcement agencies, prosecutors and courts alike, they are riddled with flaws, mistaking "dumpsters, trucks, motorcycles, helicopters, fireworks, construction, trash pickup and church bells...for gunshots."
As an Associated Press investigation found, "the system can miss live gunfire right under its microphones, or misclassify the sounds of fireworks or cars backfiring as gunshots."
In one community, ShotSpotter worked less than 50% of the time.
Then there’s the human element of corruption which invariably gets added to the mix. In some cases, "employees have changed sounds detected by the system to say that they are gunshots." Forensic reports prepared by ShotSpotter’s employees have also "been used in court to improperly claim that a defendant shot at police, or provide questionable counts of the number of shots allegedly fired by defendants."
The same company that owns ShotSpotter also owns a predictive policing program that aims to use gunshot detection data to "predict" crime before it happens. Both Presidents Biden and Trump have pushed for greater use of these predictive programs to combat gun violence in communities, despite the fact that found they have not been found to reduce gun violence or increase community safety.
The rationale behind this fusion of widespread surveillance, behavior prediction technologies, data mining, precognitive technology, and neighborhood and family snitch programs is purportedly to enable the government takes preemptive steps to combat crime (or whatever the government has chosen to outlaw at any given time).

^ Respectfully disagree. I worked with a major corporation as a consultant to two female managers and had a sharp female assistant. They were all excellent people who's work won a Computer World Magazine 'Software of The Year Award' for their company nine months after I began working with them. It was an honor working with those three incredible over achievers.
I eventually overcame my paranoia, frustration, and anger. I chose to feed my family as opposed to being ethically and morally correct. Yes, I am compromised.

Women are master manipulators. One co worker had a black book with the names of many men. She would sleep with them and in a day or two demand $900 dollars for an abortion. She was forced to court for child support she could not prove the man was the child's father. A mans daughter had a sleep over. Next day he talked to his daughter that she should not associate with her. Well she told her friend. Young lady reported the father sexually abused her. Six months later after court activities the young lady admitted her false accusation. This is today's new normal for men.

It would be easy to make a similar unfair extrapolation about all men from your example, Dale. Perhaps, for instance, if so many men chose not to bed the office mattress on the first date, she would have nothing to blackmail them with... and they wouldn’t have to hope that penicillin still is effective when that thing looks like that a month later.
Also, for information: the lady in question could not possibly have tested positive for pregnancy on day three after intercourse. At best the over-the-counter pee stick tests won’t work until 14 to 21 days have passed. Did not a single one of those men challenge her on her claim, or were they all too proud of the superpowers of their little swimmers?
As for the fake accusation, that’s been around for generations. Remember Vice President Pence never being alone with a woman not his wife, nor in a meeting where women were present without leaving the door open? That wasn’t to protect them from him, but him from lies about his reputation.

"The Walt Disney Company will be donating all of our profits from the Disney Pride Collection sales now through June 30, 2022 to organizations that support LGBTQIA+ youth and families," the company continued. "This includes sales of Pixar, Marvel, and Star Wars Pride Collection merchandise."
In the United States, profits from the sale of items in the collection will be donated to the Ali Forney Center, GLSEN, LGBTQ Center OC, Los Angeles LGBT Center, PFLAG National, SF LGBT Center, The Trevor Project and the Zebra Coalition.

The Florida law bans classroom instruction of gender identity and sexual orientation in kindergarten through third grade.
At a recent company meeting about Florida’s parental rights law, Disney corporate President Karey Burke said, "I'm here as a mother of two queer children actually — one transgender child and one pansexual child."
"We have many, many, many LGBTQIA characters in our stories, and yet we don't have enough leads and narratives in which gay characters just get to be characters," she said.
She pledged to do more to increase the number of LGBTQ characters and storylines in future company projects.
There has also been intense scrutiny into the company’s hiring practices.
In 2014, CNN reported that there were "at least 35 Disney employees arrested since 2006 and accused of sex crimes involving children, trying to meet a minor for sex, or for possession of child pornography."
A recent Trafalgar poll showed that 68% of Americans are "less likely to do business with Disney" as a result of their LGBTQ agenda.

I could get anyone reading this to confess to the same crime in less than three days. Wendy Murphy of the Boston Herald wrote, "The Supreme Court is poised to overturn Roe v. Wade as soon as its leaked decision becomes final, probably in a few weeks. The ruling will take away fundamental constitutional rights for women that have been in place for 49 years. It’s the equivalent of ruling that black children no longer have a right to go to school with white children."
No it is not. Racial equality is expressly in the Constitution. Abortion is not. One would think that an adjunct professor of sexual violence law at New England Law would know that by now.
Murphy said she believes that abortion is a reproductive right and hence, abortion is a right.
But reproductive rights, if they should exist, would help people procreate, not stop it. Abortion takes a human life, which means it cannot be a right because by definition abortion deprives someone else of the most basic of all human rights: birth.
You see, life is the first right. Jefferson in the Declaration of Independence said, "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness."

When Roe v wade is overturned it doesn't take away women's fundamental rights. All it says is the Constitution doesn't contain anything that says abortion is a Constitutional right. It leaves the decision to the States and the people, not the Federal Government. She is either stupid or willfully lying.
